random headcanon: This headcanon is like, so deep into my personal GF characterization/ fuckin'. AU. If you wanna call it that atp. BUT ANYWAYS. Fuck this is gonna need quick background hold on. The canon explanation for her looking human iirc is literally just "true love" or whatever tf. But that's not as fun to play with. So instead I like to write her as being ashamed of being a demon, especially because of her parents' actions, so she masks her demon traits. She is on a limit for how long she can hide her demon traits until doing so starts to hurt her, either through draining her energy or like, it causing physical damage to continue hiding parts of her. And while she trusts Pico & BF, she's still got shit that she's just. Not. Sorting out. So when she feels she's about to reach a limit with it she locks herself away to rest until she's well enough to continue like normal. Foxes Headcanons (Modern Day: Social Media Edition)

•Neil Josten uses social media after canon.

^ he posts the most vague shit ever and dark humor posts. He also has an anonymous hate page full of Riko Moriyama being clumsy or clips from the game where he lost against the foxes.

^^ he uses audios on TikTok and other socials that imply he’s fallen for someone he was on a team with and just lets the fan base assume it was Matt bc the whole Andrew/Neil rivalry. He likes to see reactions.

•Andrew starts to do art to express himself.

^He has a few anonymous art accounts throughout a few platforms and posts like twice a week on each. Hes really popular on TikTok and insta.

^^Neil stumbles across his content and realizes it’s him because he posted a picture he drew and sat on his dresser. Neil doesn’t tell him but frequently visits the accounts bc he wants to see Andrews art but knows he isn’t comfortable sharing in person or he would have.

•Matt and Dan would be influencers.

^ Matt mostly does sports equipment rating and reviews but he also does goofy ass videos with the rest of the foxes. Dan would do a lot about woman rights and activism in general. Big supporter of the LBGTQ.

I beat Side Order in 3 hours on my 3rd try at 3am. No I am not joking. I used a slosher. I currently have 9 lockers yet to open, so if anything important comes up, I will update.

I couldn't help but notice the parallels right at the beginning, freeing Marina from Order's control. I went neuron activation, VANESSA.

But then they started talking more about Octo Expansion lore, which made me get all giddy, because 14 y/o me had the biggest fascination with the Sanitized Octolings, and how Commander Tartar built up his scheme to the point we encounter him.

They referred something or other about the color chips/pallettes as "souls" which caught my attention. They're like broken soul pieces? Alright. We already know a comically large kitchen utensil blends octopuses into life goop. What exactly happens to the ones that look like this?

So okay. I, personally, despise Molten MCI. I think it takes away of a ton of character's individuality, and makes more things confusing, all to explain some old man's rambling in a non-canon ending.

It works for Splatoon's case, because we already had no information about any of the octolings before Sanitization. (Aside from Acht.) We didn’t have time to make that up for ourselves, because we never knew about any of this beforehand, like how we filled in the gaps with underwritten characters for fnaf.

However I'll keep reading and see what else can line up here.

This is leaning into TFC territory. So for less Splatoon knowledgeable readers, Marina is trying to take, essentially what is the Freddy amalgam in TFC, and trying to deconstruct it with each animatronic having everything from their respective endoskeletons. That's best way I can explain it. (For a reader more knowledgeable with Steven Universe, she's trying to fix the forced fusions like Yellow.)

Except the difference here is that the products of Kamabo are, well, orderly, and not animalistic.

So in fnaf speak: From a Molten MCI perspective, (blech,) melting down the infused metal, transferring it into data, and putting that data gloop into playable avatars in an arcade game where they can choose the bits of remnant that belong to them, putting themselves back together.

However, with my neuron activation Order=Mimic, that would mean Mimic MCI, but WAIT COME BACK. IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE.

I have yet to get the rest of the lore bits, but as far as I know, Order, (I'm not calling him Smollusk,) is an AI with the generalized ideals Kamabo has programming into the Sanitized Octolings. (I swear he's just leftovers of Tartar. I know it in my heart.) Mimic copies everything it sees, and learns incredibly fast. It learned the tragedies and rumors of Fazbear Ent, and according to Tiger Rock, he's running most of the Pizza Plex, which makes profits of said tragedies he's learned. Did Mimic orchestrate everything? No. He probably has no understanding of anything he's doing, he just does it because that's all he knows. The company started it.

Basically,

Kamabo Co.= Sleazy NewGen Fazbear Ent.

Order=Mimic.

How ever this ends, I'm using as evidence for how I predict the SteelWool plot to resolve/hj

Conc1usion: Marina and Henry should meet up. Well maybe not, if Marina wants permanent results.

I find it telling that with a plot so similar to a Fnaf theory that I hate, I actually really like this idea. And I think it's because it's not Fnaf. It's almost the exact same concept, but it makes much more sense and flows better in Splatoon's world. Probably because it was intentionally written that way, and is supposed to be shamelessly absurd and scifi. I like that I'm able to enjoy a concept I hate.

Analogy: Chocolate is good. I like when a pre existing food item I enjoy has an added chocolate exterior. Like strawberries. Sometimes, there are instances where that is not the case, like bacon. It exsists, and you either love it or hate it. I like both base consumables, and I like the additive, but it works better for one than the other.

Literal speak: I like the scifi horror concept of brainwashing with the actual person person being trapped or lost in a specific state, while their body is just another puppet for the main antagonist, and it takes some Cyber Chase shenanigans to free everyone. That's a rad concept. I just like it better when it's applied to a world that is planned for that kind of take, rather than to a world I already enjoyed, but scrambled to cut itself to fit that shape because it almost fit. It works better for a wacky scifi dystopia, not a campy paranormal horror.

Conclu2ion: Some things are best left for other stories.

- I feel like theres not really a great understanding on “Sonic character design,” even from Sonic Team themselves. Sonic character design isn’t just using Sonic’s body as a template- we wouldnt have Big or Vector if that were the case- instead they’re built very differently with a unifying style that ties them together. What SEGA is doing now is like if Goofy had the same body type as Mickey. Sure, it’ll be designed around it, but you use a lot of visual clarity as well as recognizability.

Sonic character design is at its worst when they try to make it as "Sonic-like" as possible, and at its best when it's at its most unconventional (i.e. Fang the Sniper, the Witchcarters, the Kukku Empire, the humans in Sonic Unleashed and Chronicles, SatAM and AOSTH characters, etc)

Infinite's maskless design is lame

Sally Acorn, Amy Rose, Princess Elise and Lanolin aren't the worst characters, you just want to hate female characters. There are way worse written characters and you choose those three to bash on

That said, Chris Thorndyke and Charmy Bee aren't annoying, you just hate children. Chris' unwilling to let Sonic go in the finale of Sonic X's season two wasn't a dick move, that's his character arc. And of course Charmy being loud, annoying and basically dooming the resistance by turning himself into a zombot to try and save someone makes sense. He's a god damn six year old

Ian Flynn trying to "simplify" Fang the Sniper takes away all that made him interesting, his weirdness and confusing design (he literally took away Fang's hybrid side and him being originated from the Special Zone. Blaze exists, why can't Fang be from another dimension too?)

Gemerl not having Emerl's personality isn't neither a betrayal nor a bad take on his character. In fact, it makes his contrast with Emerl and comparison to Omega and Metal Sonic better. Shard is not coming back guys. Cope

Sonic Forces should've been less focused on Classic Sonic and more on the Rookie. In fact, Shadow should've replaced Classic Sonic in the storyline

Sonic Colors is worse than Sonic 06 in terms of storyline and the DS version should've been the real deal

As fun and awesome and amazing as Sonadow is (totally not speaking from bias), making it non-canon is the best for everyone

Characters like Shadow and Omega shouldn't have a classic form, but it would be interesting to see other modern characters in classic form

The idea of the Babylon Rogues being associated to the Kukku Empire in the past IS an interesting concept. What isn't is the Kukku Empire being associated with the Babylon Garden. They should be their own villains

OK SO it’s not like canon canon but it’s like canon. A lot of this is me and him in the pointing spidermen meme but I’m right. For the record I think he’s definitely physically disabled and possibly dealing with a mental/emotional disability/disorder as well

Starting off with his appearance, he is described as frail with poor posture. I’m frail with poor posture I have chronic pain on account of ligament fuckery or smth. I think this bastard has chronic pain, and perhaps ligament fuckery.

In terms of his statistics, he’s taller and lighter than me which I would not consider a good indicator on his health. I’m 5'2" and somewhere between 115 and 120 pounds on an average day and he’s 5'6" and like 108 pounds. Maybe I just have bigger bones or maybe the weight of everyone who is not Gin was not as closely considered but I don’t think he should be that light, from a health perspective. There’s a line between being a twink and being malnourished. I’m worried abt him ☹️

In YTTS he has the worst physical stat. It is more efficient to send Kanna into battle than this adult man. His fondness events also center around the fact that he is not at all in shape. Going to the convenience store is an ordeal for him. He can’t do one (1) push-up. What he can do is swim, which probably has something to do with the fact that the water mitigates most of what little weight he has. This man is living the three years in the future edition of my life before he gets kidnapped

Him and Kanna are absolutely Autism Vibing. They present very differently but the way that they connect so quickly and completely is absolutely Autism/ADHD Vibing. Name a more iconic duo. You can’t. Green Autism Energy is the ultimate power. Kanna helps Shin check his emotional disregulation (he wears Midori's scarf and monologues when inconvenienced) and Shin is able to parse out the pattern/rules of the main game before anyone else, which he ultimately uses to keep them both alive as long as possible. If the game didn’t force you to kill one of them at the end of Chapter 2 they would have already handled Midori bc they’re so powerful /hj

His shaky work history could also be related to disability. Chronic pain and troubles regulating your emotional state/focus can make holding down a job difficult.

Also his likes are soup and futon which makes me feel like he’s got some sensory issues, likely related to autism/adhd and/or chronic pain. This ones my autism chronic pain intuition. I feel like if I had to choose two things for a likes profile I would probably choose similar things.

But for the most part, I'll see or hear something (scene from a movie/show, a quote, a song, etc.), think along the lines of "Hmm, that would be fun to write/put these characters through" and then sit down to write it. Outlines are sometimes included in this

The other kind of thought I have is "Wait why didn't this scene happen in canon it would have made perfect sense if it did >:[" and then create it for myself and anyone else who felt the same way

12.) Do you struggle with wanting to please your readers more than yourself when it comes to writing?

It's ironic to be honest. I'm super about writing whatever I want to write and whatever is fun for me- so everything I make is always for myself originally- but I also crave validation like a dehydrated lion craves water on the savannah. I'll create something super self-indulgent and enjoyable and yet still be shocked if/when it doesn't resonate with the audience, absolute Surprised Pikachu vibes.

I can't really think of anything I hate to write. I'll avoid some things because they're not my favorite- MCD, No Comfort, certain kinds of torture, which yes I know pretty much answers the question- but if I think of a story that tickles my fancy I'll gladly write it. 25.) What do you feel you’re best at when it comes to writing?

I love writing emotions and feelings. Joy, relief, pain, sadness, anger, everything in between; I think I've done a good job of getting the right amount of description without it being too over the top. At least, no one has told me off for it yet so I assume so lmao

(I like describing things in general: landscapes, rooms, the weather, anything that fits with making the tone even more poetic)

26.) What do you feel you could use work on when it comes to your writing?

Hooboy, probably something like fight scenes. I do okay but my strategy is to write like three or four hits and then become very general and non-desciptive as to let the readers fill in the blanks. Frankly I do that for a lot of things, but fight scenes are fun, I should write them more

Also I need to work on my endings. I usually figure it out but a lot of the time I just sit and stare at my screen. Unable to think of anything that would work. I'll have everything else done except that and it's just like 🙏 blease, I'm so close to being able to post this

i'm guessing he means none of the like physically /r stuff. you can portray a romantic relationship without that, i mean south park did it really well with tweek and craig and it pokes fun at the shipping art (i remember collecting it was a sidequest in the second south park game). i know some people do hide behind saying 'it's just the characters' to make creepy stuff but i think there are people who have drawn definitive lines between character and creator and draw only from the mannerisms and the references of the character, while staying within boundaries, opting to steer clear of mentioning anything out of character perhaps because they're genuinely invested in that relationship.

the way i write c!beeduo is down to interpretation whether their relationship is romantic or platonic, even though in the canon it's referenced to be romantic. it's down to the reader if they interpret them as romantic or platonic, but the constant that should be picked up on is that they have a deep connection with each other, kind of like a soulmate-type bond. nothing that cements it as romantic, but there's nothing stopping you from suggesting it could be romantic either.

and obviously, nothing sexual. i think those who indulge in that very obviously fit into the category of 'pretending to ship the characters when in fact they are shipping the creators'. i think the bottom line is, is that it's not weird or even out of the ordinary to interpret a close relationship between two young characters WHO ARE MARRIED as romantic, shipping them is a bit ehhh since they're technically self-inserts, but any of the physical stuff is off-limits. that's sort of what i'm understanding here.

But disregarding that, I still want some of the worldbuilding to be put in like a story quest or something, since it would be interesting to see what other characters think about the stories in the artifacts and stuff (do different mondstadters have different opinions on their history? What do they think about the white knight or the gladiator? Also I wanna see Eula interacting with the noblesse oblige set. same with Liyue folk and all the Morax Legends lol. I digress tho)
