Who’s Gonna Be The First
Summary:: for as long as both can remember, Louis and Y/N never got along. Working along side the boys as a personal stylist was a problem at times. While doing an interview, Louis slips up and mentions Y\N which causes the internet to roar to life with news and articles. Making you second guess everything.
Warnings:: swearing, verbal abuse, little physical abuse, lots of fluff, Louis being cute after being mean,
Take this as a warning or not but Liam is in this story a little. RIP Payno🕊️
•••
“Louis would you hold still!”
You were just about fed up with the older band member. It was already 5:26 in the early morning and they had an interview at 6am. You had been trying to work on Louis for the past hour, between the dancing, the not sitting still or the small snide comments he would make towards you. Well let’s just say everyone could hear the yelling at this point. “If you can’t work on me like this Y/N, maybe it’s the wrong industry for you.”
“Well maybe if you didn’t behave like a 5 year old, we wouldn’t be having these issues!”
Comment after comment was being thrown back and forth. Two cups of teas that were once hot now sat cold and untouched. You were contemplating on just risking it all and pouring the beverage all over the musician.
Though in that moment Liam walked into the dressing room. He sent you an apologetic look, knowing you would never get a sorry from the lad who is currently sitting in front of you. With the last finishing touches, you let out an exhausted sigh and stepped away. “We’re done here.” You watch as Louis jumped up and walked out the room with a bounce in he’s step.
He knew full well how to push your buttons, especially at this time in the early morning. More importantly without any caffeine. “I’m sorry Y/N.. please don’t take Louis seriously-“ Liam started to say but you cut him off by putting a hand up.
“I don’t take him seriously Liam. I take it personally. Why me? I knew I was walking into a can of worms when getting this job, this though is too much.. from day one, all the jabs of what I wear, joking about my job. He demanded I don’t work on him. Pranks are meant to be a playful joke but I can’t help but think he’s side has malice. So no Liam, no apology is going to fix this.”
You walked out, leaving a shell shocked Liam standing in the middle of the dressing room. If you were to be here all day, you’ll be needing food and lots of coffee. With a large latte in one hand and a muffin in the other, you made your way back into the now empty dressing room.
You had just taken a sip from your drink when the door cracked opened the slightest. “Liam seriously I’m not in the mood to talk about this any longer. He’s your friend, not mine. He’s been an arsehole to me from day one and that will never change.”
“Well that’s interesting love, it really is.. though don’t mind me just in here to grab my phone that I left behind. Thanks for the delightful feedback and a very fuck you too.” You spin around to see Louis standing now in the room about 3feet away from you, phone in hand and a very pissed off expression.
“I thought you were Liam-“ he angrily cut you off.
“Sorry to disappoint. Hang on I’ll grab the lad and you can continue talking behind me fucking back. The fact you’ve still got this job is completely astonishing to me. Everything about you is fucking annoying.” That’s when you felt something inside you just snap. Without much of a second thought, you lunged forward and smacked the smirk right off the man in front of you.
Silence filled the room. The hand print becoming more noticeable as the seconds ticked by. No amount of make up is going to cover the mark you’ve left. With shaking hands you step forward to try and fix the damage. Louis surprisingly stood still, in fact he hasn’t stopped looking at you in shock.
“Louis I’m so sorry, I really didn’t mean that. I can fix it.” You knew that was an empty promise. There wasn’t enough time and it was looking more red than before. Louis finally snapped out of it and watched as you raised a hand to lightly touch he’s burning cheek. Dropping your hand, you go to turn around to grab some make up but stop at the feel of a hand grabbing your arm.
“Louis what ar-“ his lips found yours. It was soft and barely considered a kiss at first but then he started pushing his body into yours, kissing you harder. Both of you back up into the nearest wall. Minutes must of went by because by the time he pulled away, you were breathing heavily. The air building back up into both your lunges.
You slowly opened your eyes to see Louis smirking down at you. You were unsure why he’s got that sparkle of mischief in his eyes, though it couldn’t be anything good you thought. “Your lips match the colour of my cheek now.” Wait what??
You push past Louis to look at yourself in the mirror and he was in fact correct. Your hair was messy, lips swollen and red and eyes glassed over. All that was done by a kiss. A kiss from Louis Tomlinson.
By the time you had turned back to face him again he was no longer in the room. You don’t know why there was a bit of disappointment, or the fact you felt tears build up in the corner of your eyes. It meant nothing, it was just a kiss in the heat of the moment.
The interview had started, just like everyone else from set you stood to the side of the stage and watched the 5 boys squeeze themselves on a couch that looked too small for 5 grown lads.
“So boys, we all want to know about this new album four, great album may I say. I gotta ask this question, was there a special muse for the making of these songs?” You stood on the sidelines, still tasting Louis on your lips.
“Yeah great songs, it was kinda a joint collaboration really.. we all put in our own inputs and experiences. I won’t go into detail but yeah usually there is a muse, though sometimes there isn’t.” You watched Louis answer most questions, the other boys joining in when they wanted to.
“Is there a special muse for you Louis?” The interviewer leaned forward, more intrigued for an answer. Louis just nervously laughs and looks over towards the camera then over to where you stood, though you knew he couldn’t see you from this distance, it didn’t stop your heart from racing.
“Oh that’s sneaky, I ain’t answering that question“ Louis laughs it off and relaxes back in the couch, thinking he got away without a single slip up. Though the interviewer had just started.
15 minutes and the interview was starting to wrap up. You could tell the boys were getting restless, they were changing positions often and Louis wasn’t answering questions or hardly talking at this point. “Alright we’re almost finished here boys. One last question, fans have started a ship within your tour group. Niall you seem really close to Y/N the hair and make up artist. Should we expect a blossoming romance here?”
From the distance off stage you see the chaos unfold, Niall getting red in the face and making a little harmless joke “maybe.. who knows what can happen.” Louis was sitting there, fists clenching, face going red with jealousy.
“Y/N is my muse.” Louis spat out. They all went quiet.
The interviewer was shocked but quickly got over the shock and started grinning wide like the Cheshire cat at the boys. “Little band rivalry here I feel.” That was the wrong thing for him to say. Everyone watches Louis jump up from the couch, ripping the microphone from he’s shirt and throwing it on the floor. “There’s no rivalry. We’re done here.” Louis then proceeds to walk off the stage, the boys following him quickly after.
You were at a loss. Do you go find Louis after just hearing him confess those feelings or do you give the guy space to calm down. Without much thought, your body was already walking you towards the emergency door that you saw Louis exit from. There he sat on the roof, feet dangling off the edge. “Louis?” You whisper softly, hoping he wouldn’t push you away.
You hear a deep breath leave him and see his body tense up. The cigarette in his left hand was lit and resting on his thigh. “Please Y/N just leave me alone.” You didn’t listen to him. Instead you took a seat beside him. For minutes neither of you said a word.
“The kiss and what you said in that interview… Louis did that mean anything? Please tell me and if it didn’t mean anything, then I’ll do what you wanted. I’ll leave.” With the loud beating of your heart, you wait for any indication from Louis. You turn your head to look at him to see he was already looking at you.
“You’ve always meant something to me Y/N. I just kept you at arms length because I didn’t want this lifestyle to destroy you. I’m sorry for being an arse to you for these couple of years.” You watch him reach for your hand, threading your fingers together. You both stayed there not saying a word, just enjoying the view while holding hands.
The moment was ruined though when the emergency door opened and all 4 boys stepped out “so is it official yet?” Niall asked you two. “You two better be together, the sexual tension was getting to a whole new level, everyone was over the arguments and the bickering.” Harry said next.
Both you and Louis were at a loss for words. “Wait you guys knew how I felt?” Louis stood up off the edge, he helped you stand up shortly after. The 4 boys continued grinning at you both. “Come on mate, you weren’t exactly subtle about it Lou.” Zayn said.
“We had a bet going who was gonna be the first to make a move. We just had to give you both a little nudge. Glad to see our plan worked. Harry you owe me 20” Niall said while pointing at Louis’s hand still clasped in yours. The 6 of you walked back inside, the boys laughing ahead about something and Louis and you walking not far behind them.
“Wait before we go” you watch Louis stop the both of you, the boys continue to walk ahead. Louis grabs hold of your hands and gives them a small squeeze. “I really like you and I’m sorry it’s taken me this long to admit it. after everything I’ve said and done I’ll understand why you say no to this question but I’m still going to try. Y/N let me take you out for dinner? You couldn’t stop the bright smile from spreading across your face, you step up and place a small kiss to the corner of his mouth.
With a small giddy sigh, you whispered out an answer you never saw yourself saying.
“I’d love that Louis.”

So, recently I’ve been seeing a lot of breeder family scenarios flying around in my feeds and I think I will put my two cents in. This goes out to @infinitegest who I’ve been seeing giving out a lot of these scenarios.
So, my thing is a family full of preggos within a house that can’t keep up with them. I’m talking about a very BIG family that takes breeding very seriously. It is tradition to them; it’s a huge part of their identity and it goes in hand with their great amount of fertility. So much so that a generation from said family could amount to the population of a small city sometimes.
Singleton pregnancies practically don’t exist with them. A small pregnancy for them is triplets. Every pregnancy out of this family is a show-stopper. And so because of this, they have this home that was built especially for them; to house their huge and ever-growing clan.
But it worked for only so long.
Each generation got bigger than the last. Their libidos got stronger, the number of multiples in each pregnancy increased and they cared less and less about giving their wombs and each other’s wombs a break.
The eldest members of the household, the grandparents for instance, have both been pumping out babies for over 20 years and still going strong. They themselves have an impressive amount of kids, but their kids and grandkids took the cake.
Nearly all of them were of age and had gotten into the family tradition and their bellies challenged all of their parents’ pregnancies from the past and the present and maybe in the future.
One of the grandparents’ kids from their first-ever batch got knocked up with an astonishing 25 babies on their first pregnancy and that shocked them. The people who were getting knocked up for decades with multiples were shocked by the new generation of fertility.
And the house was supposed to be adapted to handle their expanding families and bellies, but it has been done over. The house that was built to be the size of a mansion was too small for them! The doors were tiny, the hallways narrow and tight and God forbid there be more than four people in a room. That would be way too many people in one room. Everyone is always knocking into one another and there’s always the threat of getting stuck somewhere.
It honestly wouldn’t be a problem if everyone would quit getting so pregnant all the time, but you might as well tell them to stop breathing too. Breathing is like breeding in this family, that’s their motto.
And unfortunately, they can’t make adjustments.
At least not all the time.
The family is really always growing and they can’t be spending thousands of dollars on renovations that would need to be redone again later when that money could have been better spent on food, maternity or paternity clothes or baby supplies, or something else.
Also, there’s no telling who’s heavily pregnant and nearly finished gestating or who is just now getting started and is going to have a much greater gigantic belly down the line. It’s unpredictable how big someone is gonna get. Some grow at a snail’s pace, some through fixed growth spurts and others grow to the size of an elephant in seconds before your eyes. And it’s hard keeping track of all the babies in your womb sometimes.
The space in the house gets smaller every day. Too many people, too many bellies with too many babies in them and that’s a growing problem.
The youngest adult in the family has a hard time getting through a door by himself and he’s just 2 months pregnant along. He just might burst down a wall tomorrow. This is the countdown for the house before the family gets too big for it.

"Never do that again. Please"
Vil and Missy (platonic)
UWAH!!! A REQUEST!!!
Thank the creative gods that I had thoughts about this particular duo, so I could actually write this lmaoooooooo!!!
~~~
“AH AIN’T NO FRAIL L’IL LADY! AH KIN WHOOP Y’ALL’S ASSES ANY DAY!”
Missy was seething with anger. It was one thing to insult her short stature, but once her so-called “hoity-toity-ness” of being a student in Diasomnia was mentioned, Missy was left seeing red.
Lilia had been teaching some self-defense, so she would fare well against those larger bullies, and she did until one of their fists collided with her eye socket.
“Ow! Fuck!” She covered her injured eye with her hand.
“Not so tough now, ha!” One of them laughed.
“SHUDDUP! AH KIN STILL KEEP ON GOIN’!”
Missy slowly moved her hand away from her eye, balled her hands into fists and was ready to fight again.
“You all are aware that fighting on campus is prohibited, yes?”
Missy whipped her head towards the all too familiar voice.
“Ugh, it’s you.”
Vil sauntered over to Missy and the group of bullies she was totally close to beating to a pulp. He faced the bullies, stepping between them and the younger student.
“I will have a word with your respective dorm leaders about this. Now leave.”
And with that warning, they ran off.
“Now to you, spudling.”
Missy grumbled at the name.
“I should also be reporting you to Malleus as well, but it seems that we have more pressing matters to attend to.” He emphasized his point by pressing his index and middle finger lightly against Missy’s reddening skin. She hissed in pain as Vil pulled away.
“Follow me.” Vil commanded as his heels clicked down the corridor.
Once the two arrived at Vil’s room, Missy was astonished by how nothing had changed in his room. Then again, the last time she was inside there, she was wrecking it up.
“Sit.” Vil pointed to the vanity’s seat. Missy sat down, placing the mostly melted ice pack that they picked up on their way to Pomefiore on her lap.
“No squirming, I am going to be applying some creams to keep the swelling down.” After scooping out some cream from a random white jar on the vanity, Vil carefully applied it to her skin, being careful to not get it in her eye.
“You should know better than to be fighting.” Vil scolded.
“They started it.” Missy scoffed. “So, I planned on endin’ it. Plus, ya bettah not be callin’ me weak.”
He shook his head. “I, of all people, should know that you aren’t weak. You did nearly beat me twice.”
She smirked. “I know, I’m the best.”
With a sigh of content, he rubbed in the last of the product.
“You’re done.” Vil said while scooping out a bit more of the cream and placing it into a smaller plastic jar and handing it to Missy. “Apply it twice a day until you run out, and only use a small amount.”
“Oh, thanks, I guess.”
Missy slipped the jar into her pocket and headed towards the door.
“Never do that again. Please.” Vil said as he cleaned up his vanity.
“No promises!” Missy giggled, slamming the door behind her.
“Augh, that spudling.”
i saw you in a dream [3]
chapter 2 here
summary; you can't get ellie off your mind
chapter; 3/? 2.9k words
cw (per chapter); recreational marijuana usage, language, anxious thoughts
a/n; wooo another chapter, also sorry this is turning into a slower burn than i thought, i'll have to write a separate one shot with some smut just to fulfill the desire until i get to the smut in this story lmao, anyways, as always let me know what you think, and find it on AO3 here :)
To say you were fascinated by Ellie may be an understatement.
In such a short amount of time, she seemed to completely captivate your mind. Fueled by the weed the two of you had smoked, you watched her become more comfortable, opening up, even if just barely. She showed you recent artwork she’d done, to which your reaction may or may not have been holy fuck, these are incredible, Ellie.
She was funny, too, like really funny. It wasn’t often that someone could make you laugh as hard as she did, whether from a terrible character impression, or an even worse pun—seriously, it was like she studied a book on the World’s Worst Dad Jokes, or something.
Oh, and of course, she was a million times better at teaching guitar than your actual guitar teacher. She made it easy to understand, simplifying the techniques without making you feel stupid, while teaching you new tricks along the way. To your own astonishment, she helped you to play the entire first verse all the way through the chorus, a feat you’d begun to think may not even be possible. Part of you wished she wasn’t as good, for the selfish desire to stay longer in her presence.
Toward the end of your lesson, she even let you hear her sing, and you could have sworn it was like a choir of angels had descended on the room. Despite reluctance to accept your praises, she gave you that same crooked smile, mumbling a bashful thank you under her breath before quickly changing the subject. She was cocky and confident one moment, and then reserved and soft in another.
Even though she was hard to read at times, Ellie was quickly becoming your favorite book.
“I’d say you’re pretty well prepared for your final,” Ellie announced, breaking you out of your trance. It was getting late, but you didn’t want to leave—not yet, not when you still ached to know her better. Your high may have been wearing off, but you could have sworn your head was still above the clouds as you looked across the room at her. She met your gaze with an easy smile, her evergreen eyes low and inviting.
“I think so too,” you tried to sound casual, but it came out a bit too eager. “Seriously, I think I learned more in the past hour than I did in the past three months of class.”
Ellie laughed, and you loved the way the sound was no longer foreign.
“Well, I’m glad I was able to help. You were easy to teach,” she said, turning away to haphazardly organize some of the drawings she’d splayed out on her desk; however, not before you caught her battling a coy smirk.
The blush you’d been fighting the past few hours threatened to surface again as you quickly stood up, opting to pack your things away into your guitar case to avoid further discomfiture. It was like Ellie flipped a switch in your brain, and you forgot how to act like a normal person. She had you caught between shy and uninhibited, you wanted to impress her, but at the same time, she was intimidating. How could one person hold this much power over your brain without even trying?
“Here,” Ellie said suddenly, breaking you out of your thoughts once more. You looked up to see her outstretched hand, with a small, black tube between her fingers—a pre-roll.
“Sour Pineapple. It’s what we’ve been smoking today,” she explained. “Maybe try some before your final.”
“You’re telling me I need to smoke weed before my final?” You asked, grabbing the container from her before throwing your guitar case back over your shoulder. Your fingertips grazed over hers, and you only wished you could reach just that much further and touch her. You wanted to trace the veins on the back of her hand, grip her wrists and feel her heartbeat pulse beneath your fingers—but, you’d take what you could get. She wanted you to have this pre-roll. A reminder of your time together. Perhaps, that was enough.
“If it makes you play like you did today, then yes,” Ellie laughed again, and dropped her arms to her side. She stood there for a moment, staring at you, and all you could do was stare back and wow, there was that fervid heat rising to your face again.
“So…you got everything?” She asked, taking a glance around the room. Was she stalling? Maybe she did want you to stay…or maybe she just wanted to make sure you had everything? Oh god, why is discerning human emotions so hard?
“Uh, yeah, I think so,” your eyes followed hers around the room for a moment, but you were pretty sure you grabbed all your sheet music.
“Okay, cool…we can head downstairs then,” she said, and there she was, slipping softly back into introversion. You nodded with a slight smile, and begrudgingly, you followed her as she made her way past you out the door.
“You gonna make it back to your dorm alright?” She asked as she descended the stairs.
“Oh, yeah,” you replied, though you had a fleeting thought that maybe she’d offer to walk you if you’d said no. “I’m meeting my roommate at the coffee shop down the street, and we’ll walk home together.”
“Good,” she said, so quietly that you almost missed it. At the bottom of the stairs, she hovered while you grabbed your coat off the rack, and before you could slip your guitar all the way off your shoulder, she was by your side in a heartbeat.
“Let me grab that for you,” she said, and it was almost laughable how much more assured and comfortable she sounded saying those same words from just a few hours ago. You let yourself blush this time, passing the guitar to her as you slid your arms through the sleeves of your jacket.
“Thanks for everything,” you couldn’t help but to say, and you wondered if you should reach out and touch her. Just a light graze of the arm—anything to show you were interested, that you wanted to know her favorite movie, and what she liked to do when it was raining outside, and if she likes to stay up late or wake up early, and what she likes in her coffee, if she even likes coffee, or maybe she’s a tea person, or maybe she doesn’t care for either—but the fear of rejection proved stronger. You reached for your guitar and that was it.
“Like I said, you were easy to teach,” she replied easily, handing off the guitar before opening the front door. “Seriously, you’re gonna do great. Why don’t you let me know how it goes?”
Internally, you were jumping up and down—also maybe crying, screaming, throwing up—and of course, externally, you walked past her onto the porch without missing a beat. She wants to keep in touch with you? Well, maybe you were getting ahead of yourself. She probably just needs proof of the lesson to actually receive her extra credit. Yep, that was it.
“Oh, of– of course! I’ll…email you?”
It dawned on you that you don’t even have her number—that initial flier only listed her email. Would it be weird to ask for her number? Was she trying to ask for your number?
“Uh, yeah, sounds great,” she replied after a moment, and her face held a look you couldn’t quite decipher. Nervousness? Indifference? At this point, you were considering changing your major to Psychology.
In spite of your dismay, you felt like you were swooning at the sight of her. Her face was positively glowing, bathed in the golden porch light as she leaned against the doorframe. You took a deep breath and committed the warm, vanilla musk that billowed from her house to memory. She smiled at you, softly, and it just barely made a crease next to her eyes.
“Alright, well, thanks again,” you said, giving your own awkward smile in return. If you were trying to find a way to stay, this was definitely not sealing the deal.
“Have a good night, okay?” Ellie’s voice was soft. Whether she didn’t notice your awkwardness, or chose to spare you further embarrassment, you were grateful.
There was nothing left to say, nothing that could realistically allow you to stay without sounding crazy. So, you offered another weak smile, and turned to leave. As you walked down the steps, you faintly heard the door close, and resisted the urge to look back, or maybe run back, knock on the door again and start over. You felt a little silly, admittedly—less than five hours ago you’d nearly ran the other direction, expecting a serial killer, yet you were now quite literally hanging your head as you left, dejected.
The streetlights were just turning on in the city as you sent a quick text to Dina, confirming her location, and picked up your pace a bit. The cold air nipped at your cheeks, and you zipped up your coat to further cover your face as you walked. She was, luckily, waiting outside for you, at a small table beneath an outdoor heater. Her ponytail bounced as she nearly jumped out of her chair when she caught sight of you.
“My god, I was starting to think maybe she did end up killing you or something,” she teased, handing you a paper coffee cup. You rolled your eyes, affectionately, and gratefully accepted the beverage, using it to warm your cold hands.
“Well, how did it go?” Dina asked, falling into step beside you.
“I already told you, it was…good,” you smiled, bringing the cup to your lips to take a sip. Ugh, let this be a reminder to never let her order you coffee. It tasted like bitters and sadness.
“Duh, but I need more context! Come on, you left me hanging in the middle of our conversation, you gotta give me something,” she complained, smacking you in the arm with the back of her hand.
“I’m not giving you shit if you hit me one more time,” you threatened playfully, pointing a finger at her. She raised her hands in feign innocence.
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry,” she laughed.
As close as you’d gotten with Dina in just a few short months, you’d always had a hard time opening up, to anyone. Though, it’s not like she would judge you. Dina was so open about her life, sharing everything from the smallest crush she had at the moment, to even the biggest things like her mother passing away when she was young—you sometimes wished it was that easy for you to be as transparent as her. But you were never sure when you’d share too much with anyone, and scare them away.
“She wasn’t a serial killer, for one,” you started, feeling yourself open up. “She was actually really nice, and, like, amazing at guitar…and she was also kind of cute,” you added the last part quickly and quietly, taking another sip of the terrible coffee and staring straight ahead to avoid seeing her reaction. You couldn’t resist a side-eye at her though, and her mouth was agape, an amused look on her face.
“Cute?!” She exclaimed. “You couldn’t have led with that?”
You laughed, the anxiety in your brain slowly dwindling. It was okay. Dina wasn’t going to judge you. She cares about you.
“Go on, go on, please,” Dina gestured to you, encouraging you to continue. Taking a deep breath, you let yourself retell the events of the past few hours, even down to the smallest details—how the two of you smoked together, how she really was like a guitar legend in a way, how it sometimes felt as though the tension was tangible in the smoky room, how you often found yourself getting lost in her eyes, how you longed to know the story of how she got the scar in her eyebrow, and wow it all came rushing out of you, you couldn’t stop, it was like word vomit and oh god you really had it bad.
Timidly, you spared a glance over at Dina, who was nearly tripping over her own feet as she watched you, completely invested in your story. She let out a laugh, and you couldn’t tell if it was with you or at you.
“I know, I sound insane,” you literally cringed, pressing your palm against your cheek as if to snap yourself out of it. You’d said too much, you were in too deep.
“No, no, no, not at all!” Dina laughed again, but this time it was more assuring. “I’m mostly just wondering how you had time to get in any actual guitar playing between all that chemistry you just described,” she smirked now, elbowing you playfully. This time, you laughed with her, feeling more at ease.
“Oh shut up,” you elbowed her back, and you couldn’t help but to smile at the ground as you walked along. Perhaps a bit archaic, but you felt absolutely smitten. The thought of Ellie alone had you literally smiling at the ground.
“Tell me you got her number, at least?” She questioned as the two of you approached your dorm building. Thanks for the reminder, Dina.
“Erm, not quite,” you admitted, stopping outside the entrance.
“Okay, then puh-lease tell me you at least pretended to still suck at guitar so that you could see her again?” She turned to face you again as she fished her student ID out of her backpack and scanned into the building.
“Oh my god, where were you with that idea like, an hour ago?” You groaned as she swept past you through the door and into the lobby. That was a much better plan than stuttering awkwardly as you left, thus possibly ruining any future chance you may have at seeing her again.
“Oh, you know, just studying for my finals, being ignored by my roomie, the usual,” Dina sighed dramatically, one hand over her heart as you trailed behind her. You rolled your eyes at her, this time not so affectionately.
“Don’t worry, I’ll forgive you,” she said after a moment, bumping into you softly. “As long as you promise to tell me more about this dreamy Ellie girl.”
You caught yourself smiling bashfully at the ground once more, the thought of the red-headed girl alone sending butterflies fluttering in your stomach.
“Deal.”
******************
The next few days came and went, though more slowly than usual. Work seemed to drone on—even with students becoming more and more panicked as finals week quickly approached, the campus bookstore was surprisingly slow. You spent most of your work days standing behind the counter, mindlessly scrolling through your phone, occasionally reviewing your Woman’s Literature textbook for your test on Tuesday. At this point, it was quite possible you could pass that exam in your sleep.
Your guitar final, though? That was a different story.
You see, you had tried to practice by yourself, trying to remember every little technique that Ellie had taught you. The only problem with that? Then you couldn’t stop thinking about her. Albeit, you had barely stopped thinking, let alone talking about her since Saturday. Luckily, Dina was more than happy to listen, only further fueling your fantasy.
And yet, Wednesday came entirely too quickly. From the moment you woke up, the mere thought of your final cast an anxious mood on your day, stomach twisting and turning in anticipation. God, you’d done just fine when you were with Ellie, you rationally knew you could play all the way through the first verse, but it was like your fingers stopped working whenever you started picturing her in your head; eyes closed, leaning into her guitar, playing with earnest and conviction, smiling softly as she looked up at you and sang quietly.
As you sat at your desk, painting that beautiful picture in your mind, Dina laid in her bed on the other side of the room, rambling on FaceTime with one of her friends from back home about one of her upcoming finals. You tuned her out, listening to your own music quietly from your laptop as you got ready to head to your final.
You say, ‘I want to be your girlfriend’
It wasn't really in my plans
When you're around, I've got arrhythmia
So in the end, I play pretend,
Your guitar sat propped against your bed, tormenting you silently. You were toying with the thought of actually smoking the Sour Pineapple that Ellie had gifted you. Although, part of you considered the sentimental thought that you should just keep it forever. Ugh. Having a crush was mentally exhausting.
You clicked around on your computer, making a half-assed attempt at checking that all your other final assignments were turned in. A quiet email notification sounded through the music, and you clicked on the open tab. Your eyes almost fell out of your head when you saw the name that sat at the top of your inbox.
Ellie Williams (no subject)
You quickly opened the message, and your heart nearly jumped out of your chest.
Good luck today!! You’re gonna do great. Let me know how it goes. You can text me if that’s easier :)
Oh my god. Oh my god oh my god oh my god. She remembered your final. She wants you to text her. She gave you her number. She’s been thinking about you? Your smile was automatic, reaching ear to ear as the butterflies returned to your stomach.
Dina needed to get off the phone immediately.
Denki x alt! male reader
[REQUESTED]
Denki wasn’t the most secretive about his crush on 1A’s resident alt kid.
Fortunately for him, however, Y/N was extremely oblivious. I mean, seriously, with the amount of flirting Denki was doing even Azaiwa knew about it, and he could care less about his students’ love lives.
Y/N walked into class, decked out in his usual attire. Nobody in class was sure that they’d ever even seen him without layers of eyeliner, piercings, and jewelry all over him. Over by Kirishima’s desk, Denki practically swooned.
“Dude, you’re literally drooling on my desk,” Kirishima had a concerned yet slightly aggravated look on his face.
“Yeah, Denki, it’s starting to get annoying. Just watching you pine all day,” Mina chimed in, “He’s basically all you ever talk about.”
The blonde boy opened his mouth to retort when he noticed Y/N had turned back to look at him. The h/c boy smiled brightly at him and all Kaminari could do was just wave back with a dopey grin on his face.
In all honesty, when he first saw Y/N, Denki wouldn’t have thought it possible for him to smile like that. The way he dressed was a little intimidating at first, but once you got to know him, Y/N was actually a very warm person.
Mina sighed before turning to Kiri, having an idea. She whispered something in the redhead’s ear before turning back to Denki.
“Listen, bud, Kiri and I would bet you ten bucks each that you can’t confess tonight.” Ten bucks was a small price to pay to get their friend to stop whining to them about how soft Y/N’s hair looked all the time.
Denki looked hesitant at first before replying.
“Make it twenty and I’m in.”
+++
Denki had been putting it off all day. At first, he was planning on telling him at lunch, but he chickened out when he noticed Y/N was wearing headphones. He didn’t want to disturb him after all.
Then he decided that right after classes ended would be smart. But when he noticed his crush was talking to his friend Shinso from class 1-C. There was no way he was going to embarrass himself like that in front of another human being. Especially not one of Y/N’s best friends.
Later that night, he sat in his dorm playing Mario Kart with Mina and Kirishima. Denki was about to win when Mina hit him with a red shell, rushing past him.
“BOOYAH, BABY!” she yelled, nearly knocking over her drink in her excitement. Denki grumbled and Kirishima just sat on the back of the couch eating popcorn peacefully.
“You don’t have to be such a sore winner…”
“Says the loser!”
“Guys, we’re forgetting the important thing here…” interrupted Kiri, turning to Denki, “have you asked out Y/N yet?”
The electric boy froze in place.
“Okay, I’ll take that as a ‘no’,” Mina said, “remember, if you don’t do it you’ll owe us a total of fort dollars!”
Kaminari groaned.
“Why did I agree to this, again?”
+++
It took Kaminari about 20 minutes to knock once he reached Y/N’s dorm.
“Who is it?” came a groggy voice.
Denki’s mouth dried up, and he contemplated running away but it was too late, the door was already opening up.
“Oh, hey Denki!”
There he stood, in a pair of flannel pajama pants and an old, baggy sweatshirt. Y/N wasn’t wearing any eyeliner and all of his piercing had been taken out minus his septum, which he had only gotten done recently. Denki had to blink a few times at the sight. He was pretty sure no one had ever seen the other boy like this before, except maybe for the exception of family.
“I, uh, I hope I didn’t wake you up,” the blonde stuttered out.
“Oh, no worries! I was just watching a show when you knocked.”
Sure enough, his laptop was on the bed with an episode of (favorite show) pulled up on pause. Seeing Denki’s worried face he reassured him.
“I’ve already seen this one so you didn’t interrupt anything!”
He gestured for Kaminari to come in.
Y/N’s room was atmospheric. Band posters were pasted crookedly to the walls, strings of lights dimly lighting the room. Denki noticed some band tickets and pictures of your friends from middle school hanging on the walls. A few potted plants were scattered here and there, all well taken care of, it looked like. Denki took a seat on a bean bag chair next to Y/N, who was sat on the carpet next to him.
“What was it that you wanted to talk about?”
Denki choked up.
“Well, uh, uhm…” he tried to find the right words to say. “You see, I kind of, uh… oh fuck.”
Y/N stared back at him, confused but not aggravated by his stumbling in any way.
Denki looked back up at the boy’s e/c eyes. Seeing them so clearly, without any eyeliner or makeup hiding his face. He could see every line, every crevice, every dot on his face. It was perfect. He managed to summon up the last of his courage and blurt it out.
“I REALLY REALLY LIKE YOU! LIKE, NOT IN A FRIEND WAY, IN A ‘I WANNA MAKE OUT WITH YOU REAL BAD’ WAY!” His face was burning red at this point. Y/N just stared back blankly for a second.
“Wait… really?” Denki looked astonished.
“Wha… are you kidding me? I thought I was totally obvious about it! I mean, literally everyone in class noticed but you didn’t??? I flirted with you so much I was starting to run out of pick up lines!”
“Yo, those were supposed to be pick up lines? Like, no offense dude but they sucked,” Y/N chuckled.
“Hey, they did no-” Denki cut himself off, “Listen, do you like me too or not?”
Y/N looked puzzled for a second.
“OH, wait I thought it was obvious? I mean, I like you too. Practically the entire classroom could tell.”
“Wait… WHAT?” Denki was definitely going to yell at Kirishima and Mina about this later. At least he got forty bucks out of ‘em.
+++
Denki had ended up falling asleep in Y/N’s dorm that night while playing some video games together. When Kiri and Mina noticed the two boys walking into class the next morning hand-in-hand, with Denki wearing some of Y/N’s eyeliner (They knew Y/N had done it too, because it was way too good for Denki to have done it), they were relieved and, of course, happy for their friend but maybe not so happy about the idea of losing twenty dollars each. At least they wouldn’t have to listen to their friend’s incessant pining anymore.
“Guys! My boyfriend is so cool…”
Kiri and Mina just slumped back down in their chairs, tuning out Denki gushing about his crush boyfriend.
Can I request jealousy hcs for the main four? Like maybe their s/o has a best friend who is REALLY close to them or maybe someone is hitting on them? (Completely SFW for all 4)
yes you can!! i hope you enjoy!!
———————————————————————
Gon
You and Gon were on a date at a café, taking in the atmosphere of your hometown. Alone time between the two of you had been sparse lately, so you cherished any moment the two of you got together.
Browsing the menu for something appetizing, you caught a glimpse of your boyfriend’s thinking face. He seemed to be pondering his options carefully, reading over the menu closely. You turned your attention back to the menu when suddenly...
“Hey, Y/N!” a familiar voice called out. Turning towards the origin of the sound you saw an old friend of yours standing before you, beaming excitedly.
After greeting your friend and inviting them to sit down with you and Gon, you quickly found yourself enveloped in an immersive conversation in which you and your old friend caught up with one another, unintentionally leaving Gon in the dark.
Eventually you and your friend parted ways, leaving only you and Gon. You smiled at your boyfriend, speaking excitedly: “Wasn’t that exciting, Gon! Didn’t you...” You trailed off as you realized Gon was frowning at you, a prominent pout on his face as his arms were crossed. “What’s wrong?” You query, to which he averted his gaze.
“You didn’t pay any attention to me at all, Y/N...” he whined. An unpleasant feeling settled in your gut as a pang of guilt flashed across your chest. You hadn’t intended to make Gon feel this way, after all. Extending your hand towards him you intertwined your fingers, offering him a sincere apology and plenty of make up cuddles for when you two were alone again.
Killua
You and Killua were on a date at a fair that was in town, standing in line for one of the game stalls. It was a classic dart and balloon game. This particular game had attracted your attention because it had a giant stuffed bear as one of the prizes, and you wanted your boyfriend to try and win it for you. One after another, the other individuals trying to win the game failed and walked away dejectedly.
Next was you and Killua’s turn, your boyfriend eagerly slapping down some money so that the stand worker could hand you the darts. Killua tried a few times but failed to pop the required amount of balloons, causing him to become frustrated. “Hey, old man! You sure this game isn’t rigged or somethin’?!” He inquired angrily.
Suddenly, a strange boy appeared in between you and Killua, handing some money over to the stand worker. Smirking, he spoke, “Let me show you how its done.” He flawlessly popped the correct amount of balloons, winning the giant stuffed bear and handing it to you. Unsure of what to do, you watched as he dangled it in front of your face. Then, the boy leaned down and whispered something in your ear:
“I could treat you much better than that little rat could.”
You didn’t even have time to react before Killua’s rage was upon the mysterious boy. All you could do was watch as he aggressively dragged the boy behind the stall, presumably to threaten him.
Killua soon emerged from behind the stall all by himself, telling you not to worry about the boy anymore. You have no idea what transpired back there, but you were glad that your boyfriend was there to protect you.
Kurapika
You and Kurapika had been living together for quite a while now, seeing as your relationship had slowly progressed to that point. In contrast, your last relationship had ended roughly, and as of late you were receiving many phone calls from a blocked number that was no doubt your ex-boyfriend.
Sighing to yourself at said predicament, you shifted your position on the couch as you watched the television. Kurapika was currently in the shower, leaving you all by yourself. But just as you had found a comfortable position to sit in, the doorbell rang. Having no other choice but to answer it yourself, you got up from the couch and opened the door. However, what you saw was...
“Hey, Y/N. How’s it going?” Your ex-boyfriend was leaning against the doorframe, towering over you menacingly. “How come you haven’t been answering any of my calls?” He attempted to enter the room, but you feebly blocked him. “W-Wait!” You cried, but to no avail. Before you realized what was going on, your ex had looped an arm around your waist, pulling you closer towards him.
Just as you were about to protest, both you and your ex were startled by the sound of Kurapika clearing his throat. Using the opportunity to free yourself from his grasp, you backed away from your ex and stood near Kurapika.
“Is there a problem?” He stated as calmly as possible, though it was obvious that he was biting back his rage. Your ex let out a short “Tch” before squaring up to Kurapika, clearly itching for a fight. Kurapika, however, calmly stated the following:
“I suggest you leave them alone, unless you want to have a problem with me as well.” His eyes briefly flickered scarlet, startling your ex enough to cause him to back off. After he was gone, Kurapika wasted no time in comforting you and reassuring you that you were safe.
Leorio
After a long day of shopping at the mall with your best friend, you finally arrived back at you and Leorio’s apartment, looking forward to getting to relax with him. You unlocked the door and entered your abode, however what you found was quite unexpected: Leorio was pacing back and forth in the main room, muttering to himself.
“Umm... Leorio?” You questioned, noticing how he immediately snapped out of his thoughts and perked up. “I’m home.” You stated, as if that wasn’t already obvious.
“O-Oh, hey Y/N!” He greeted, stumbling over his words a bit. His expression turned sheepish as he gave a small smile. “So... How was hanging out with your friend? Heh, you two sure have been spending a lot of time together lately!” He tried to brush off his words as nonchalant, but jealousy was apparent in each and every one of them.
“It was fun!” You replied cheerfully, but opted to get straight to the point. You weren’t an idiot, after all. “Leorio, you aren’t... jealous, are you?”
“W-W-Wha?!” He recoiled, seemingly astonished by your line of questioning. “No way in hell I’m jealous! I was just curious, that’s all!” Crossing his arms and looking away, Leorio pouted childishly. You gave a small laugh at this, deciding to play along with his antics for the time being. “Whatever you say, dear.”
can I request a lil something? during the end of the manga or after the timeskip if you haven't read it yet, reiner still has feelings for historia and reader has one-sided feelings for him.
pieck gives reiner a small hint, saying he's wasting time while there's someone close to him that cares for him and points to you. he doesn't understand at first and maybe is conflicted about his feelings for you because of historia. reader is cool about it as she doesn't expect him to reciprocate her feelings.
a rollercoaster of emotions later, maybe there is a happy ending tho? i am curious to see what you can come up with 😭😭 i have dreaming of this scenario before bed and i can't help but get jealous of his crush on historia abjdsndks maybe you can help reiner reciprocate reader-chan's feelings or not
thank u so much aly 💖🥺
reciprocation
pairing: reiner braun x reader
a/n: OMG yesss! honestly, i was kinda annoyed at how reiner still had a crush on historia. i know that isayama wanted to show how everything went back to normal, but i was hoping that reiner would have a bigger role in the allied nations instead of being "dumbed down" to having an obsession with her. MAYBE THATS JUST THE JEALOUSY SPEAKING LMAO 😭 i was hoping this would be longer, although school has been killing me so im really sorry!! i hope its okay 💗💕 thank you honey!
↳ to be added to my taglist, please fill out this ♡form♡
as reiner is handed historia’s letter, you fold your hands on the table and watch him without a word. when he reads the lines and smells the parchment - jean saying something snarky afterward - you say nothing.
you want reiner to be happy: you want to see him at ease like this more, face soft as the leaf of the page flits from his pinched fingers.
and so you let the man speak about historia like she’s a damn goddess, gushing over her handwriting, and keep your goddamn mouth shut. ignore your jealousy. your feelings.
the truth is, you’re in love with reiner.
you can’t even remember how it happened, but you can remember the first time you looked into those hazel eyes, and how you knew that they were going to stick with you for eternity.
you’ve come to accept his crush on the queen, though. reciprocation was never an option in your mind.
when jean begins to chew reiner out for lusting after a married woman, and reiner says something about jean being a horse, pieck’s gaze lands on you. “you’re rather quiet,” she says softly, resting her head on her palm.
you shrug, turning away from her. “i’m just tired.”
pieck catches your chin between her lithe fingers, and turns you to face her with a tiny smile. the young woman is very perceptive, and you’ve known her long enough.
that’s when you notice the twinkle in her eye. she’s planning something.
pieck releases your jaw then, sitting up in her chair. “you’re wasting your time, reiner,” she says suddenly. “there’s already someone you know who cares for you.”
you pretend to not hear pieck - and definitely pretend you don’t see her faintly point at you through your peripheral. the movement of her fingers is barely there, but you catch it.
damn you, pieck.
the way you’re now pinned underneath armin, jean, connie, and reiner’s stares makes your stomach tie itself into knots with bubbling reluctance. shit, this is awkward. you want to run away.
still, you peer over to study reiner’s reaction. he looks confused at first, the contours of his face unreadable. you swear you see connie facepalm at the man’s cluelessness.
then reiner’s expression slowly changes: his eyes widen in awe, lips parting slightly, and brows knitting together. he seems genuinely surprised - and conflicted.
conflicted? why?
there’s no time to explain yourself though, because the door creaks open and annie steps in. her words fall on your deaf ears, and when everyone stands up to leave, you’re the first one out of the room. work beckons you as always.
two days pass.
you’ve been busy filling out tons of paperwork pertaining to the allied nations, so when you’re finally given a day off, you take it with open arms.
freedom at last.
you lean against a bench outside of headquarters, enjoying the salty breeze that flutters along your skin. it’s dusk, the sky covered in a gradient of neon colors as the sun dips below the horizon.
you haven’t seen reiner since that day in the conference room. you wonder how he’s doing, what he’s thinking, how he’s holding up -
“hey.”
speak of the devil. you glance over your shoulder toward the voice, low and familiar.
reiner approaches you, clad in his uniform: the suit hugs his large frame perfectly, showing every flex of his muscles, and his blonde hair is neatly parted. the black tie looped around his neck just pulls it all together. it has you weak at the knees every. single. time.
“hey,” you answer, giving reiner a smile as he stops beside you.
and that’s when your heart lurches at the sight of him.
the sunset highlights reiner’s profile in gold, a heavenly shine that settles upon his blonde lashes and the flawless slope of his nose. the flecks in his irises sparkle – a beautiful mixture of soft browns and muted greens. the only thing you can do right now is admire the man.
his words are what breaks you out of your daydream.
“work has been crazy lately, huh?” reiner says, focused on the candy-floss clouds and their fluffy shapes.
“well - yeah, pretty much. i don’t want to look at a pen or a piece of paper ever again.”
“that bad?”
“you have no idea. i almost regret marley and paradis reconciling.”
reiner chuckles gently at the joke, but it’s strained. his forehead remains creased, and he’s not really smiling. the emotion there is more … doubtful. it’s like he’s having some sort of inner conflict.
hopefully reiner’s not acting cautious because of the other day. you know he doesn’t return your feelings, and that’s totally okay. you’re happy enough being with him like this. “i’m not mad or anything, y’know.”
reiner stiffens at that. there’s a white flash of teeth when he chews on his lower lip. “i know.”
“good,” you hum, breathing out a sigh of relief. your core twists with envy when you force a grin. bite it back. tease him like always. “so about historia … ”
reiner’s eyes go wide almost comically, and you hear the breath in his lungs leave his firm chest in one exhale. there’s a light blush staining his cheeks now. it’s funny; he’s so goddamn big, yet he’s such a teddy bear.
“y-yeah,” reiner mutters. you observe the way his brows pinch together as he awkwardly shifts in place. it takes a while before the man composes himself again, which is strange.
is he scared or something? what the hell?
“pieck,” reiner hesitates for a moment. the golden strands of his hair ruffle in the wind and he appears ... well, lost. “was she being serious?”
the question is a shocker - jeez, he could have at least let you prepare yourself. a firm ‘no’ almost slips out, but you’ve never been much of a liar. not to reiner, anyway. crossing your arms against your chest, you inhale sharply and nod. avoid staring at him face-to-face. “yep.”
“ … why me?”
reiner says the words with a mixture of spite and anguish, a casual and rumbling voice. you immediately turn your head, frowning. “what?”
“i’ve done so many horrible things.” reiner exhales heavily and stares down at his hands; perhaps he’s imagining all the blood they’ve been stained with. “i betrayed everyone. i killed innocent people - all because i was selfish.”
it’s no surprise that reiner is broken after everything he’s been through, but it pains you to know that he continues to suffer in silence. whatever war is raging inside his ribcage tears him apart piece by piece, and you wish you could carry the burden.
there’s probably nothing you can say to convince reiner that he was just a kid, a victim of circumstance. there’s nothing that can persuade him to see himself the way you do.
so you decide to tell reiner why you love him.
you explain the amount of admiration you hold for him. tell him that you love the way he just wants to be someone his comrades can lean on, like a big brother. tell him that you think he’s the most gorgeous person you’ve ever seen and how you think he deserves the world.
the way you spill your guts out snaps every nerve in your body. you don’t say everything you want to – but you tell him enough. a dark flush spreading across your face, you find the courage to look at him.
the world seems to stop on its axis when you find reiner staring right on back. the intensity of his eyes is stunning; they’re lit up with astonishment and affection.
god, the affection. you see it clear as day. maybe one of the greatest regrets in his life is how he forced himself to see you only as a friend.
that’s when he reaches out to you.
reiner retracts his hand twice, unsure, before slowly brushing his fingertips against yours. the touch is so feather-light that you almost can’t feel it. it’s a test - he’s waiting to see if you pull away. you can’t even move if you wanted to, because his fond gaze keeps you rooted to the spot before him.
when you don’t recoil, reiner finally moves to gently hold your hand; his palm is so much bigger than yours, and your fingers slot together perfectly, like a jigsaw puzzle’s final piece.
heart thrumming like a hummingbird has been stuffed into your chest, you’re almost at a loss for words and come to a realization.
this utterly amazing man likes you. always has.
but reiner shoved away the feelings for one simple reason; you deserved ‘better.’ focusing on the old crush he had on historia was a distraction - an attempt to convince himself to stop thinking about you.
because looking at you everyday and not being able to act upon his feelings was too painful.
“is this okay?” reiner asks lowly. there’s a slight pinkness to his cheeks, the color of a selfless love.
by some miracle, you manage to nod dumbly. “yeah, of course. it’s fine.” it’s amazing is what you actually want to say.
reiner squeezes your hand at the reassurance, a sigh escaping from his throat. “i really—”
you wait for him to finish, but he doesn’t. reiner just searches your profile for signs of discomfort, and then untwines your hands to bravely swipe a thumb along the length of your cheekbone.
there’s no time to speak because he’s already leaning down.
the sensation of reiner’s lips pressing against yours lights your skin ablaze; you can feel the curling flames of passion sear your soul, made even more intense by the warmth of the sunlight on your back.
it’s natural, it’s tender, it’s warm.
reiner’s breath rattles into your mouth when you rest both palms against his solid chest and deepen the kiss. the musky smell of his aftershave and cologne envelops you completely, and fuck, it’s so good. your arms wrap around him, fingers passing over the sharp slopes of his shoulder blades.
as much as you wish the kiss could go on endlessly, there are people gathering outside. avoiding any unwanted attention from nosy strangers is very much appreciated.
you pull away to nuzzle your nose into reiner, and he rests his chin on your shoulder, protective arms moving to loop around your waist. it’s such an intimate caress that it sparks your brain into overdrive.
as the rushing sound of the breeze comes back to your ears through the quiet, you tuck the kiss away to be remembered forever. that’s all there is to it. being close to reiner like this - swaying together like wildflowers in the wind - is more important than anything else.
“i like you,” reiner murmurs.
the suddenness of it makes you laugh, and you can feel the upward quirk of reiner’s lips - a whisper of a peaceful smile and a sweet, sweet promise.
Clan (Technoblade x demon!reader, Philza x demon!reader)
Word count- 2,210 Content Warnings- none that I can think of Ao3 link- right here.
My first post back in a while. I’m sorry about the absence to whoever might care- a lot of things popped up in my personal life that stressed me out, on top of my graduation fast approaching. But I’m back now, and this might not be the Karl or Ranboo fic that was promised, it is at least something. Those will both be coming within a week or two, I just need to finish up some stuff and then edit them. So follow if you want to see when I post those, or just reply on this post saying that you want to be tagged when I do post them. Enjoy! Reblogs are appreciated, as well as likes. So if you could just do both, that would mean the world to me!
Techno’s used to being alone. He lived the first hundred years of his life that way- until he met Phil. And then Phil left. And he was alone again.
But when he met Y/n, that all changed. He never had to worry about being alone again. Immortals are rare, and meeting another one is even rarer, but the two were inseparable. She never disclosed where she was from, or what the tattoos of strange runes on her body meant, and Techno knew better than to pry into matters that didn’t concern him, but he couldn’t help but wonder what she was thinking about as she stared out the window with her eyes clouded over and memories of a past time playing in her mind.
When Phil came back, it was easy for the pair to fit him back into their lives. Even though Y/n had never met him before it was as if they’d known each other for centuries before then. The three easily settled into a calm daily routine and when they returned to their own houses in the little community they’d created for just them at night, they fell asleep having forgotten what life was like before they’d met.
The three gods never worried about what would happen when they were found. After all, they’re immortal. They’ve lived to see the rise and fall of countries, rulers, and everything else. Them of all people know that nothing is permanent. But none ever stopped to consider that what they had wasn’t permanent.
It started when Techno woke up in the morning. The arctic always lent itself to freezing mornings but this one felt colder than the others. It could be because he had expected to wake up with Y/n and Phil next to him on the couch, and was surprised that they would go back to their own houses. But it was much more than that- even if Techno couldn’t have known.
Phil and Techno looked in silence for any trace of Y/n around their community when the sun hit the middle of the sky and she still hadn’t shown her face. Any places she might have gone off to in search of quiet or a place to nap. But that didn’t appear to be the case and their search turned up empty and in vain.
Techno retreated into himself. He found the note she’d left when he and Phil returned from their search and he didn’t say anything, instead heading down to the basement in his small house and shutting himself in to work on ‘very important stuff’ as he told Phil. Phil didn’t believe him- Techno wasn’t exactly quiet in expressing the emotions he felt about Y/n leaving.
Phil wasn’t quite as emotional as Techno. He was more than two hundred years older than the pink-haired man. He was used to the constant ebbing and flowing of life, of the appearance and then disappearance of people. That’s not to say it didn’t hurt, but he knew that it’s the way of life. People come, and then they go. To stop it would be to disregard the nature of humans as a whole.
He was a little surprised when Techno came back up at the end of the night and, while silent, had refused to acknowledge that she’d even existed there in the first place. He ignored the building next to his where she’d slept and kept her belongings. Whenever Phil tried to bring her up, Techno would shut out the conversation and pretend he hadn’t heard him. It wasn’t healthy, and Phil couldn’t blame him because he was still young but he just wished he wouldn’t be so heartbroken to the point of refusing to acknowledge that she ever existed in the first place.
This went on for months. Almost a whole year had passed and the building that contained Y/n’s belongings went untouched. All the delicate keepsakes from past adventures, photos of strangers that neither of the men dared ask about, and the bookshelves lining almost every wall and so full of books from all over the world- it all gathered dust. Until finally she came back.
Phil almost didn’t recognize her at first. The tired weariness evident in the dark circles under her eyes and the dragging of her footsteps, but everything else was the same. The dark hair on her head now long enough to braid- much to his excitement- and the multitudes of runes covering her body, with the additions of quite a few now. One of the newest things though is the several piercings and jewelry that she’s wearing. The most prominent of which is the chain hanging around her neck, a medium-sized precious stone of unknown origin hanging off of it.
“Y/n…” Phil said, dropping the wood he held in her arms in favor of running over and embracing her.
She hugs him back, the feeling almost foreign to her now. But now that she’s back, she doesn’t intend on forgetting it again.
“Where’s Techno? I need to talk to you both.” Y/n mumbles into Phils' shoulder, and for a minute he feels the cold flush of fear at the thought of her leaving again.
“He’s inside his house. Here, I’ll take you there.” Phil can’t help but feel like he’s showing around a visitor. The community has changed quite a bit since she’d last been there but the dread-filled feeling that he gets at the thought of her leaving again, coming back to say that she’s leaving and never returning, is more than he could take.
“Techno. Where are you?” Phil calls out as he enters the house and the chill of the room makes him shiver.
“Downstairs.” A gruff voice calls back, followed by a grunt of frustration.
“Well, can you come upstairs real quick? We have a visitor.” The word is bitter on his tongue and the look that flashes quickly across Y/n’s face makes him wish he’d chosen a better wording.
“Fine.” The ladder creaks and then Techno is peeking his head through the hole that leads down the basement.
“Y/n. What are you doing here?” It’s not entirely a question, and Y/n winces at Techno’s harsh tone. “Why are you back now? What, was living out there not as good as you thought it was? Well, you can leave. We don’t want you back here. We’re doing just fine on our own.”
Y/n feels destroyed. She didn’t expect Techno to react positively to her return, but she didn’t expect this.
“Can I just tell you why I left?” She asks, and Techno snorts.
“Sure. Go ahead. Lay on us this wonderful reason.” Techno’s voice drips with sarcasm.
“There were some people I needed to find- had to find.” She says and Techno laughs.
“Really. That’s your reason. You had to go find some people so you left for ten months. You didn’t even think to tell us in person, instead, you just left a note. Hell, you could have taken us with you. We would have happily gone with you. I would have happily gone with you. I’d have done anything for you. But it appears that the feeling wasn’t mutual, since you barely bothered to leave a half-assed note telling us.” Techno shouts, having climbed fully into the room and stood towering over the girl.
“You don’t understand. This was not a trip you could have made. Neither of you would have been able to!” Y/n shouts back.
Phil backs away, settling into the couch on the other side of the room.
“What do you mean, I don’t understand. I understand perfectly. You abandoned us. You abandoned me. Well, you know what, I don’t want you back here. You need to leave. Get your things and leave. Right now.” Techno says and it feels like Y/n was just punched in the gut.
“What? Techno you’re not serious?” Phil’s astonished. Of everything he thought Techno would say to Y/n, this wasn’t one of them.
“Yeah, I am. Now get out.” Philza protests and Techno starts yelling at him as he tries to shove her out of the house.
“My clan was killed! I had to find their bodies!” She shouts out over the two men and Techno stops pushing her.
“Clan?” He asks and Phil stares at her blankly.
“You’re a demon?” He asks and Techno looks back and forth between the two.
“Part demon, yes. My clan was killed and I had to find them. I needed to know who was left. And… I’m now the leader of a clan that doesn’t exist anymore. They were all dead.” Her voice breaks at the end of her sentence, and the sorrow overwhelms her. She’d done a good job on the trip there and back of not crying, of ignoring what happened. But saying it out loud makes it real, and something inside her snaps with those words.
Suddenly the runes tattooed on her and the amount of gold jewelry she’s wearing makes sense to Phil.
“Hey, it’s okay.” Techno pulls her into his arms protectively.
Phil stands from the couch and joins them. The combined warmth of the other two hybrids is almost too much to bear, but Philza hugs them anyways. Y/n’s sobbing continues for a little longer, but soon it turns into muffled sniffles and the shaking of her body calms a little bit.
“It’s up to me now to find a new clan. Custom is that I have to either join one or find others to form one with. I don’t think I’ll be able to stay here. Most of them require you to live with the group.” Y/n whispers as she pulls away from the hug.
“No. I won’t let you leave. Not for a second time.” Techno says stubbornly, and Y/n shakes her head.
“I don’t have a choice.”
“Yes, you do. We’ll be your new clan. Even if you can’t give us the jewelry of your brothers and sisters like tradition dictates, we can still be your clan. Technically your clan doesn’t have to be other demons.” Phil smiles at her. Techno doesn’t know why Phil would know that, but he doesn’t question his knowledge either way. Phil’s lived a long life before he and Y/n came into the picture.
“You guys would do that?” She asks and he nods his head eagerly.
“Of course. We were already really close before- nothing’s going to be changing.”
“Yeah. What do we have to do to join your clan?” Techno asks.
“Well, we basically have to get married to each other. It’s really just an unbreakable promise to stay with each other and protect each other until we die. Soooo… forever. Are you guys sure this is what you want? Because once we do this we can’t go back.” Y/n looks at them in worry.
“Yes. We both want this. You belong here with us. Life was horrible without you here. I had to deal with Phil all alone. The full force of his attention was on me. It was a never-ending nightmare.” Technos voice is dry as he delivers the joke and Y/n laughs as Phil protests.
“Hey. You forget that I was equally as stuck with you. It’s not easy when you live with a piglin who never gets cold and forgets that not everyone is as lucky as him.” Phil says and Techno mimics his words.
“Whatever you say, old man. But Y/n, I’m a hundred percent serious about joining your clan. I never want to let you go again.” Techno says into Y/n’s shoulder.
“Yeah, it was so quiet without you here mate. And cold. So, so cold.” Phil wraps his wings around the two human furnaces and holds them close.
Even though he’s more than two hundred years older than the pair and knows the reality of life- that eventually they’ll get bored of each other or tired and leave- he finds himself wanting to never let go.
“Here, hold out your hands,” Y/n tells them as she pulls out of the hug.
The two men do so without hesitation, and Y/n places a ring in each of their hands. They’re heavy, made of an unknown metal to most who walk the earth and they’re burning hot to the touch as if they were just forged and taken out of the fire.
“But… you’re not supposed to?” Phil says and the woman shakes her head.
“It doesn’t matter if my clan is made of demons or not. I’m still going to give you guys the rings signifying our bonds.” She says and Phil nods.
“Now… who wants to go and slaughter some orphans?” Techno asks, clapping his hands together.
Y/n shouts yes and drops her bag on the ground, running out the door. Techno hangs back a moment, pausing only to look at his reflection in the mirror- at the heavy ring on his tusk. It’s stopped burning and has turned into a comfortable warmth.
“Hey, you good mate?” Phil asks and Techno smiles.
“Never better.” He eyes the half-demon waiting outside in the snow, her tail swishing on the ground behind her.
“Good. Because now there’s no getting rid of her.” Phil smiles and they join the girl waiting outside, ready for whatever adventures lie ahead.
Hey, how about hcs Ushijima,Terushima, Bokuto and Kuroo getting jealous when their chubby s/o being hitting on right before their eyes 🥴 what would they do? Might as well do nsfw a lil' bit? 🥺
Thank you! I love your works ❤🥰
Jealous Haikyuu Boys + !NSFW!
Ushijima, Terushima, Bokuto, and Kurro x Plus size reader
A/N - Hope I brought this to justice. I loved this idea a lot but I think they might have made them a little toxic- Also sorry for this being very overdue with writing, but as most of you know my motivation for lots of thing is shit. Also Thanks to @livieeee for basically helping to edit and give ideas for this. I also may add to the other characters NSFW as I accidentally gave Bokuto the most detailed part
Lowercase intended
Not proof read
NSFW included
Cursing
The Characters are all aged up for this Headcannon
Ushijima
we are all very aware about how blunt he is with things
not one to bottle things up
if he doesn't like something, he will voice his opinion
ushijimas blunt ass will sat whatever he wants if he deems that its true
doesn't everyone want to know the truth about things?
he also isn’t one to be easily jealous over things too
his confident ass knows that he’s got you in the long run anyways
he has complete trust in you, your his rock
ushi knows that you wouldn’t go off to flirt with some douche just for the fun of it
the first time that he had ever found himself jealous was when you had dragged him out to your friends birthday party in college
he wouldn’t of even gone if you hadn't forced him out to be social and to make some friends with people his own age and should get out of the house for something other than practicing with the volleyball team he was on
since the party had been for your friend finally becoming of legal drinking age, of course there had been alcohol
oh i wonder how this liquid luck could get you into a predicament?
you had needed to go to the bathroom, so you gave your boyfriend a little wave before leaving
it should of only taken you about five minutes, and ushi knew that
so when you took over twenty he decided to go looking for you
while he was searching for your thicker frame, you had been quite preocupied with something else
there was this guy, completely drunk off of his ass, who wouldn’t leave you along
“are you lightning? because your my mc-queen”
just really icky and shitty pick up lines
homeboy was so touchy too omfg like back up ass hat
you hadn't even noticed the amount of time that had passed until you felt a strong hand on your shoulder
boy did that make you jump
and he looked pissed
~Nsfw~
homeboy really said posessive~
ushi literally ripped you away into the bathroom as you had been stuck in the hallways for god knows how long
for once his touch wasn’t gentle with you, it was more rough and less caring
he’s so rough with you right now oml
to make the story short, you won’t be walking easily later
he wants to make you yell out, to show everyone in the premis know that you are his
“how about you let everyone know who you belong to, sweetheart~”
his buff ass literally is holding you up, just fucking railing into you
only stops when he deems that you are done
he even apologizes if he hurt you too badly
cleans the both of you up with one of the guest towels hanging, before walking you ever so gently out to grab a cab and make your way home
Terushima
while the two of you had been out shopping for god know what, you happened to spot an old friend
he was ole of those guy friends that were overly touchy, but you never had really minded it since he was just being nice
your friend had been very high energy and affectionate, but they always meant well
so your boyfriend, terushima, had just smacked a smile on his face and acted as friendly as could be
But he was jealous of all the attention you were giving him
hey you couldn’t help it, you haven’t seen the guy in years
hello? teru is your boyfriend, not this guy!
the look on his face when you exchanged numbers to meet up later
you would of thought that you had just shot his puppy dear lord
he was so god damn sad
“he’s totally trying to get into your pants y/n!”
“no he isn’t teru, he’s just being nice”
“y/n, no-”
your so oblivious to it
terushima has two levels jealously
he goes from pout-y little kid to complete asshole in a matter of seconds
homeboy is black and white with his personality, there is no gray area with him
even though he isn’t one to keep quiet about something he doesn't like, he did it anyways for your sake
though he glared holes into him
eventually when he had left ho boy did terushima give you an earful
you heard even more when he found about how you made plans with before mentioned friend to have dinner
it was just so the two of you could catch up after the many years that you haddn’t seen each other
“its just dinner”
“y/n its like he’s trying to date you
“can you chill out?”
“no! what? are you dating him now???”
okay he can be a little high strung sometimes, but its something you can tolerate
~NSFW~
remember how you had given him your phone number?
yeah, that may be important
while you had been getting ready for your little ‘dinner date’ with your friend, teru had still been glaring at the back of your head
you could see his annoyed look from the mirror, but you payed him no mind
hey, he would get over it sooner or later
your phone decides to start ringing, and its the guy
teru looks at it, then at you, then back at the phone
he hits answer before handing the phone to you
you decide to start talking, everything is in a friendly tone
and then he decides to play around a bit
a little nip here and there, nothing more nothing less
just to see what his little doll face can handle
then soon he escalates it more and more
soon lurking hands become groping and nips became hickeys
though you had to pretend that everything was hunky dory on your side of the phone
homeboy on the other line didn’t even think anything of it
“hey are you okay?” he had asked once when you particularly couldn’t handle his stimulation
“y-yeah i’m great right now...”
his hand would slip and dip into places that you had forgotten about until now
just the smooth and slick friction would bring heat to your face, though
that’s when teru had taken the phone back
“screw off your asshat, never call her again!”
and he never did, even if you say him in public, he would walk the other direction
Bokuto
the two of you had just been out window shopping and peaking into stores on a saturday
when a store employee had started talking about a popular television show that had aired yesterday, you hadn't thought anything of it
in your mind it would of been rude to ignore them completely,
what if they were just having a bad day and you little small talk and brightened it just a little?
you didn’t want to have something like that on your consensus
bo had been standing beside you the entire time, and you hadn’t even noticed the way he had stiffened and almost seemed to puff up, like an owl
there had been one person who did notice bokuto’s uneasiness
baby boy had thought that the two of you had been flirting when he walked by
omg he looked so sad
he went from being all perky and happy to looking like a deflated balloon
it was pretty pathetic
sooner or later the worker had felt so awkaward that he left, that’s when you had noticed his discomfort
he had waved if off until the two of you had gotten home, then you finally cornered him and asked
“whats wrong?”
he just rolled his eyes to himself, “you should know!”
yeah just the buffering circle above your head for that one
you really had no idea
“i seriously don’t bo...”
“yes you do, in the store that worker was totally flirting with you!” he had finally spoke out
oh...
that had made sense you guessed
even though you had apologized to him, he had still been down, even needy
~NSFW~
bo had just been clinging on you for the past hour
if your standing, he’s right behind you, just looming
he became a shadow or a lost puppy, following you everywhere
his arms always found their way to your generous waist, holding onto you as if you would be blown away if a gust of wind decided to make its way though your home
as you had tried to walk down the short hallway that connected your bedroom to the living room, bokuto had stopped the both of you
he looked down to you before grabbing your wrist
bokuto half dragged and half lead you to the shared room you both shared since you moved in together
he had pushed you, not carefully may I add, onto the futon bed
koutarou soon climbed on top of your plush frame, his face lightly dusted in a red hue
one of his hands wandered down towards the plush button that resided between your thick thighs
the other had cradled the back of your head, pulling you back lightly so he could have more access to your neck and collarbones
bokuto lightly kissed your skin, it didn’t matter if imperfections or not
now this would have been more of a sweet moment if you hadn’t noticed the almost mocking circles you felt at your core
“am i good enough for you now baby owl?”
you would of answered him if you were able to form words, but the amount of stimulation that he was able to give you simply from the tips of his fingers was astonishing
damn boy he got magic hands
you had opened your mouth but no words came out
that had made the two toned haired boy let out a laugh
the only thing that you thought to do was to wrap your arms around his broad back
“speechless, huh” he had taunted you, a smirk on his face
he just kept up his happy little circles, the stimulation bringing a warm, almost butterfly like feeling to your abdomen
it was if he filled an empty part of you, and you needed him to survive
the tightness in your core had started to bubble, feeling as if you were going to top off the edge and boil over
your former speachless self was soon a babbling mess, telling bo how much you did need him
and even after you had reached and passed your high, he hadn't stopped, he loved the way your words flowed from your mouth in light, breathless pleas
oh he wasn’t even done
play nice you two
Kuroo
out of the two of you, kuroo had always been the more jealous one
baby boy is passive aggressive about it too
he doesn't do the keeping it to himself kind of bullshit
just completely straight to the point
he dosent often become jealous either
kuroo trusts that you wont get flirty or ‘advance’ on anyone else, because you have him for that
why would you need anyone else when he’s right there?
he has the confidence that all of us are jealous of
you and i know that this boy gives little insults to almost everyone
just in a joking and playful way, because that’s just how he communicates to people
but if someone decides to push it
ho boy
mr. rooster man slowly gets more and more passive aggressive
literally they turn into thinly veiled threats
you could practically see the steam coming out of his ears
so imagine his reaction when the waiter at a restaurant had decided to get a little too cozy with interacting with you
kuroo had been sitting right across from you, a pissed off look slapped over his face
who was this asshole and why the fuck was he going after his little kitten?
he had kept his mouth shut but raised an eyebrow at your plush form
it was as if he was asking if you were going to let this guy keep his shitty advances up
you just thought he was being friendly, but according to kuroo he wasn’t
when he had figured that you weren't going to stop him, he spoke up
“lay off dickwad” his voice had been laced with the utmost hate, you had never heard him ever use that tone before
with that, he had grabbed you by the arm before leaving, not paying for the two glasses
~NSFW~
the two of you had gone home in his car
no words had been exchanged between kuroo or you
“you were so into that, weren't you y/n” the bed-head boy had muttered to you, almost in a mocking way
you couldn’t think of a reason on why he was acting like that, so you had just kept your mouth shut until he would drop you off at your apartment
his hand that usually resided on your plush thigh while he was driving was currently white knuckled on the the steering wheel
even though he was looking at the road, he looked completely pissed
no plea for him to talk to you would make him speak up, it was as if he was stuck in thought
even when he had dropped you off at your flat, he seemed to still loom over you
when you took out your keys, he took them from your hand and opened the door himself as if you were suddenly incompetent of doing anything for yourself
“need someone to do everything for you huh? just too dumb in the brain to do anything...” kuroo had sneered to himself
“okay what the fuck is your problem you asshole?” you had finally spoken up, really what was this jerks deal with you?
homeboy had glared at you before pinning you against the wall in your own home as if he owned the place, “oh so now you talk, you were so fine with that guy in the restaurant huh? completely preoccupied with him to forget that i was there...”
suddenly everything is making sense right now, the puzzel pieces are fitting together
homeboy was jealous and you had no idea, you just though he was being pissy for no reason
he just sighed, putting his head in the crook of your neck, “idiot...”
kuroo had finally turned his head to look up to you, a slightly sad look on his face
oh you felt like complete shit, homeboy looked so down that your heart hurt
you leaned your head slightly down so you could give the top of his head a lil kiss kiss
homeboy almost seemed to purr from the affection
he slung his arms over your shoulders, it was as if he was leading you into the minimal living room that you had
the two of somehow ended up on the crappy couch you had, him on top humming happily down below at you
sandwiched happily together
“i’m still disappointed in you...” he muttered, looking down at you
“oh bite me” though you paused before thinking, “how about i make it up to you?”
kuroo had smirked, “and how are you going to do that?” he questioned you
it was as if you had suddenly forgotten how to speak, a burning heat spreading from your cheeps to the bridge of your nose
lets just say that you did not expect that answer from him in the slightest-
his slender hand ran up the side of your torso, as if he was memoriizing the peaks and valleys of your figure
“i’m the only one who can make you feel like this,” kuroo had muttered cockily, staring into your eyes
he had no shame making comments like these, why should he?
his fingers snuck under the elastic material of the underthings you had currently been wearing, teasingly testing the waters and rubbing fether-like circles over your sensitive bits that were located on your chest
“are you ready?”
Stuck on You (Levi x Childhood Friend! Reader) Part 2
A/N: Hey guys! It’s been kinda a while but here is part 2~ I have this habit of writing and rewriting my pieces since I’m never fully satisfied by them, but overdoing that is just as bad so I’m going to leave this as is ajflkajada The amount of love my first part recieved was so genuinely heart warming and I cannot express my gratitude enough. I’m nervous to post this because of it, to be honest, because I hope it lives up to the expectations. Thank you to everyone who has shown me support, it means so much! If you guys want a part three, or maybe just a short epilogue, I will consider it so let me know! Also if you would like to be tagged in my future works, comment below or send me a message <3 I hope you all enjoy!
Warnings: Angst, Season 1 and No Regrets ova spoilers
Word Count: 4k
If you haven’t already, read part one here
As a former member of the Scouts yourself, you knew the ins and outs of the military’s regulations. Because of this, you also knew your request was a strange one, seeing as soldiers weren’t typically allowed visitors, but you hoped your letter appealed to the more personal side of Commander Erwin. Apparently it somehow moved the man, seeing as you had been brought by carriage to the legion's base the following night.
The clopping of horse hooves eventually stopped, and you were currently being escorted into the building by another familiar face, her hand already outstretched to help you out of the vehicle as soon as the door swung open.
“I understand your reservations about this, but you’re brave for coming here. I think he’ll be relieved to see you, (Y/N),” Hange spoke, her fingers hovering over the small of your back as she guided you down one of the many hallways, lantern swinging in her free hand. “I think he could benefit from seeing a familiar face.”
Your eyes were downcast, staring at the floor as rooms upon rooms passed by along your path. You couldn’t speak if you tried, words seemingly stuck in your throat and unable to keep up with your racing thoughts.
Deep breaths, (Y/N).
For better or for worse, there was no need to reply, as Hange came to a halt not a second later. She squeezed your shoulder gently before bringing her knuckles to the wooden door, knocking once, twice.
Your hands were clammy, heart thundering in your ears as you tried to steady your breathing.
“Levi, someone is here to see you,” Hange’s voice rang out firmly.
There was a distinct sound of a chair being pushed back, and footsteps growing nearer. Time slowed down, and you began to second guess every decision up to now. Would Levi even want you to be here? Will he be angry? You felt like bolting away and forgetting about the whole idea, suddenly afraid of his reaction. Afraid that your presence would only make everything worse.
Your eyes were widening as you realized the possibility of leaving was too late to explore, Levi already turning the handle from the other side. So instead, you swallowed your pride, stood up straighter, and pushed away the growing sensation of nausea in your gut.
“Who could possibly be important enough to interrupt my--”
The second his eyes met yours, Levi halted in all movements. Your gaze was fixed on him as well, every bit of longing settling back in your bones the second it did.
He looked nearly the same as the last time you saw him, clean and kempt as ever, hair styled the way it always was-- the same way he’d keep it when he used to chastise you for running your fingers through it.
And those stoic, gray irises that drew you in your were fierce, yet somehow emptier. At the sight of you, his flooding emotions became too much to properly register, unlocking every moment you’d ever spent with him as they replayed all at once.
“(Y/N)?” He couldn’t hide his disbelief, eyes widening ever so slightly.
“Hello, Levi.”
~~~~~~~~~
Never did Levi think he would grow to care for another group of people the same way he had for you, Farlan, and Isabel. But sitting around Petra, Gunther, Eld, and Oruo, he found their excited chatter over the dinner table endearing more than anything. The ever stoic look on his face didn’t change, and he would never openly admit it, but it felt reminiscent to be surrounded by trusted company like this. All of Squad Levi had full faith in one another; it was necessary for the battle field. This created an unspoken bond between all of them that the unreachable Ackerman did not picture building with others again.
Fate worked in funny ways, he supposed.
Sounds of clinking silverware and chatter filled the mess hall, sun setting outside of its many windows and painting the expanse in an orange light. The males eyes drifted towards the entrance of the room expectantly, where a clock rested above the doorway. He took a sip of his tea whilst squinting at it, attempting to get a better read before feeling a slight jab in his side.
“Looking for someone, sir?” Petra inquired, with a hint of deeper emotion in her tone that went right over the male’s head.
He glared at her in annoyance, having almost spilled his drink as the thought of you returned to the forefront of his mind.
It was strange, seeing how capable you had become after spending those months by yourself in the Underground. They made you a bit more calloused than when Levi last saw you, carrying over to your skills as a Scout. You never used to be skilled at riding ODM gear, not even when Levi tried to teach you in your youth. Seeing you slash Titans without blinking an eye was like watching someone completely different.
But you had to learn, since you had no one to protect you.
Your open displays affection had grown fewer and farther between as your time in the Survey Corps dragged on. At first, Levi thought nothing of it. Truthfully, the Captain had hardly noticed, with how busy the both of you were. He wrote it off as stress, or the workload catching up to you. Or, maybe, it was that nagging thought in the back of his conscience he dared not dwell on: he had turned you into this, after being away for so long and then failing to protect your friends.
But as your words replayed in his mind like a broken record, too late he realized this wasn’t the case.
“I see the way you look at her. I see it because you used to look at me that way.”
“Captain?” Petra repeated, leaning forward to study his distant countenance and successfully pulling the man out of his thoughts. “She’s probably just training.”
He rested his hand on top of her head, turning it away from him and sighing.
“Eat, Petra. I don’t need you to be whining about hunger during our patrol tomorrow morning,” he chastised, forcing his eyes away from the doorway.
After that talk, Levi had watched you go, telling himself that you’d return soon enough. Yet could not shake the feeling in his gut that there was something amiss. He pushed away the pit in his stomach. You were safe, you were healthy, and that was all that mattered. Humanity’s Strongest had other things to focus on, after all, and tuned back into his comrades’ conversation. The man blended back in easily, occasionally offering a few of his own comments as the meal dragged on.
Every so often his thoughts would shift back to your conversation earlier that day, and he realized that you were wrong. As close to Petra as he had gotten, there was a stark difference between you and her:
No matter how strong you’d get, and no matter what you thought of him, Levi would always shield you from as much of this world as he could.
But it was better this way. Better if you moved on from him and easier to do if you thought it was because he wanted Petra.
If only he knew your last words to him “I’ll be back for dinner,” had been a lie.
It had been strange for him when you didn’t return. Levi tried not to think about how Kenny had done the same, instead grasping for a reason. For once, he could not read your thought process. The male had no idea why you’d voluntarily leave, after everything. He knew better than to hold onto certainty, but you’d thrown him for a loop. You were always the one to communicate, the problem solver, the one who understood him without much direction. Didn’t you know that you were irreplaceable? He should have come clean: told you that he didn’t see Petra that way, and just didn’t have the heart to admit he didn’t feel good enough for you anymore.
Did he ever even get the chance to say “I love you?”
His regret multiplied tenfold as he began to understand that maybe if he had, you would’ve stayed.
~~~~~~~~
A strange sense of comfort washed over the man as you smiled softly, small hands clasped together in front of you. He blinked, wondering if you were simply a mirage caused by his sleep deprivation. But you remained where you were, after all this time, standing at his door. For once in the man’s life, his mind was drawing a blank.
“I’ll leave you guys to it, then,” Hange stated, excusing herself and soon disappearing out of sight.
Her statement pulled the both of you back into the present, and you were suddenly self conscious of Levi’s stare. You tucked your hair behind your ears and gestured towards his office, unable to gage his reaction to your presence.
“Would it be alright if I came in?” you asked shyly, astonished he hadn’t slammed the door in your face the second Hange left.
To your shock, Levi simply nodded, stepping aside to let you through. Your movements were unsure and hesitant, stark in comparison to his: calm and collected as ever.
Just like any space Levi occupied, the area was clean and tidy, a lantern sitting upon his desk the only source of light against the cloudy night sky. It smelled like tea leaves, sandalwood, and disinfectant, a signature scent that made you fill with nostalgia. As the click of the door echoed behind you, the reality of your situation set in, and you turned around to face the man you were here to see.
His gaze had never left you.
“You’re hurt,” was the first thing that left your mouth, concern evident as you studied the bandaging that peaked above his knee length shoes.
“Long story,” Levi offered curtly, eyeing you up and down from a few feet away. “One I don’t particularly care to tell you.”
“Of course, that’s fine,” you agreed softly, a weak smile pulling at your lips.
You did your best to mask the hurt, knowing you deserved to feel it. It hurt to be here, the fear that Levi hated you previously keeping you away. Now that you were facing the music, that fear seemed more realistic than ever. Your brain wracked to change the topic before your mind could continue overthinking; desiring instead to cut the unbearable, building tension that never used to exist between you two.
“How are you, Levi?” it was a stupid question, but you no longer knew how to talk to him.
“(Y/N).”
The way he said your name was sharp and challenging. You quickly cleared your throat and looked away.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked. Of course you’re--”
“--Why did you leave?” Levi effectively cut you off, orbs narrowing as you dared to come closer.
The question caught you off guard. You thought you’d made it obvious with your last conversation with him those years ago. Surely, he had some idea, although his pained expression said otherwise. His fingers twitched at his sides, a movement you didn’t miss as your eyes flickered back to his in surprise. He had been so composed just a moment ago, that the sudden shift gave you whiplash.
Now his fists were clenching, as he waited in the painful silence, knuckles turning white.
“Why did you leave?” The phrase echoed tauntingly in your ears, over and over again.
You don’t know what came over you. All you knew was that you needed to rid him of the rare, defeated look etched into his countenance. To purge him of this feeling you caused. Whether reaching out would help or hurt, you didn’t know.
But you needed to be near him.
Levi’s eyelids screwed shut as you brushed your thumb across his cheek. The action was so simple, so delicate, so unsure and so familiar all at once, and at the feeling, the Captain’s composure finally came undone.
He reached up and gripped your wrist, as if you’d fade away if he let go. In previous years, it was always you who craved skinship, yet it seemed as if a weight had been lifted off Levi’s shoulders to have you this close. Your touch still felt like the comforting warmth of a campfire; the type that would make anyone want to stay forever.
“I’m sorry. I thought you’d be better off without me,” you whispered. “I didn’t want to cause you any pain.”
He let out a breath.
“Then why are you here now?” his question was more defeated than hostile, which you hadn’t expected.
If someone asked a few hours ago, your answer would have been much clearer. But now, the logic that brought you here seemed overshadowed by doubt. After all this time, and after everything that had happened between you and Levi, any semblance of a relationship with him seemed unsalvageable. You told yourself this mantra over and over until it stuck. So why were you here?
Levi must’ve thought it audacious, for you to run away like a coward and still think you were relevant to him.
“I owe you so much. Whether I ended up being wrong or right, I’ve always acted with your best interest,” you sighed, thumb brushing over Levi’s dark circles. “Truthfully, I don’t know if I’m any use to you now. I might be the last person you want to seek comfort from, but on the off chance that I still matter to you, I’ll always come back,” you whispered earnestly.
Levi’s grip on your wrist tightened imperceptibly, and you longed to bury your face in the crook of his neck; to feel him wrap his arms around you in his embrace once more. It seemed as if Levi was staring into your soul, his shallow breaths mingling with yours at this close proximity as he opened his eyes to fully drink you in.
“I’m here to tell you that if you need me, I’ll stay.”
He looked to the side as if brushing aside your touch, hand falling away from the raven-haired man’s face as he did so. It felt like rejection, as if he was brushing all of you away with a simple turn of his head.
Silence.
“You’re a real idiot, (Y/N),” he spoke finally, voice nearly out of place against the stillness.
Moonlight suddenly peaked through the window, showering you in a bath of silver light. Levi recognized this look. You were wearing your heart on your sleeve, offering everything you had to give; eyes wide and honest, shining with a vulnerability that even after a lifetime of knowing you, he had never seen before. The man felt conflicted at the sight, annoyance prickling under his skin as you somehow managed to hold him together and tear him apart all at once with your presence.
Losing his squad twist that knife in his heart, convincing him that he was cursed to be left by everyone and his superhuman talents only doomed him to live a life alone.
But now, here you were, standing within arms length: despite the pain you caused, still the only person he had left. Only you could draw this much emotion out of the typically monotonous man. He couldn’t tell if you were a blessing or a curse, but in the moment, all he knew was that he didn’t want you to leave again. He needed you to stay here, with him, the way it should be. Because you were family.
And true to your word, you did.
“You should really get some sleep, you know,” you stated after a while, closing the door with your foot as you entered with two fresh cups of tea.
You watched Levi fill out paperwork on the other side of the desk, bringing the cup to his lips in the strange fashion you always teased him for. His gaze flickered up boredly.
“You know I don’t sleep. You go on ahead, though. The bed’s behind that door,” he paused, gesturing somewhere behind him. “I hardly ever use it.”
You shook your head, reaching forward and plucking Levi’s pen from his hand.
“What you’re drinking is caffeine free. I switched it, so you have no excuse now.” You ignored the indignant scowl growing on the Captain’s face, urging him to listen. “Please, you really should rest. You know you need to.”
It took an entire hour of imploring and convincing for the man to finally give in, him grumbling as you helped take off the boot on his injured foot and ushered him onto the bed. You knew you were the last person with any right to tell the short Captain what to do, but knowing Levi, he was running on an hour or two of sleep while his body was begging for rest. And yes, you were very much hypocritical, draped across the couch in Levi’s office, staring at the ceiling. But none of that mattered to you, as long as he was okay.
You had been lost in introspection, being a room away from your childhood best friend and first love after so long a surreal experience. It felt strange to be back here, but you were too tired to dwell on how strangely out of place you seemed in a place you once called home.
The weight of your abundant emotions from the day finally crashed down, fatigue settling in. You rubbed your eyes, and snuggled closer to the cushions, letting the darkness claim you.
And in the other room, as Levi slipped out of his uniform, shaking his head in exasperation. His last thoughts while he inspected the door as if he could see you through it, was that of course only (Y/N) (L/N) could be more stubborn than he was.
As he slipped under the covers per your command, the ghost of a smile spread across his lips at the thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Perhaps it was the constant danger of where you grew up, and the need to always stay on your toes, but for as long as you could remember, you’d been a light sleeper. If someone so much as stared at you for too long, your body would jolt awake, ready to take action within a moment’s notice. There had been many instances where this came in handy in your past; even after years of seldom disruption in your now boring life within the walls, this was a trait you never seemed to grow out of. So it wasn’t hard to notice the heavy breathing and panicked movement from behind Levi’s closed door.
Just like for you, some things never changed-- when it came to old habits, you knew the man like the back of your hand. The reason he rarely ever slept was one you were quite familiar with. One both of you struggled with, and probably always would. Nightmares never seem to stop. You’d gotten through so many of your own rough nights with your friends by your side.
Levi, however, always refused to admit how they affected him. Insisted on going through it by himself.
The subconscious urge to look after one other was most likely one you'd never grow out of, even if Levi had. You didn’t think twice before making your way across the office, swinging your legs across the sofa, awake within seconds. Without missing a beat, you stood up and made your way to Levi’s personal sleeping quarters, knuckles rapping against the frame twice. Levi’s shallow gasps quieted, and when you realized he didn’t plan on opening the door, you steeled your nerves to do it yourself. This was what you were here for, wasn’t it? To offer some comfort?
He did want me to stay.
“Levi?” You called into the darkness gently, feet padding foreword as your eyes adjusted to the lack of light.
His silhouette was upright in the bed, no doubt staring at you menacingly.
“I'm fine, (Y/N). Go back to sleep,” he snapped.
That didn't deter you, for he would never openly admit vulnerability. This was by no means new behavior. Besides, the strong emotion behind the Captain’s voice was an easy tell that betrayed his words. You pressed on, sitting on the edge of the mattress.
“Do you remember the time we were teenageers and you got sick, but couldn’t afford medicine so I took that sketchy job you specifically told me not to?” Your back was to him, yet you could feel Levi peering at you.
“Obviously,” he humoured you with a reply, knowing you weren’t going to leave. “You came home half alive and I felt like the most useless piece of shit in the world.”
You chuckled, fingers fiddling with the white sheets beneath them.
“Yes, which was unfair to yourself but also something I did not realize since you called me pretty much every name in the book,” you smiled, the memory oddly fond despite its events. “You were so angry, but I was also scared out of my mind... which was more important than your anger, I suppose. So you let me lay next to you that night. That was all it took to make me feel safe again.”
There was a long pause, you trying to get your words together in a way that could allow Levi to understand how you felt right now.
“I know what you’re thinking; what you’ve been thinking your whole life. You haven’t failed anyone and that stupid idea should be the furthest thing on your mind. Take it from someone who knows, alright? So many lives have had meaning because of y--”
His hand closed around your wrist, the grip much like it was the day you left him.
This time, he would not let go.
“--Stop, (Y/N). Don’t.”
You hadn’t realized there were tears falling down your cheeks until Levi turned your face to look at him. Trying to look away in your embarrassment, you laughed bitterly. His grip did not budge as he examined you sternly.
“Just be quiet and go to sleep, alright?”
You wiped at your face, determination etched into every fibre of your being.
“Mark my words, Levi, I will make you believe me.”
Levi rolled his eyes but tugged at you once more, opening the duvet in an invitation. When he sensed your uncertainty he simply nodded, arms winding around your waist as you finally crawled in beside him. Both of you knew that there was so much that still needed to be said; so many buried feelings and pain that would only take time to unravel. It felt like a miracle to find yourselves in this situation, pushing aside the thousands of emotions and questions and misunderstandings the two of you had, if only to stay together in this moment.
You didn’t need Levi to know that you still loved him; not while he was coping with another loss. It would be selfish to spring that on, and that was not what you were here for. But you had to tell him:
“I missed you.”
Levi hummed, nose brushing against yours in the close proximity.
“You better not be gone when I wake up,” he chided in response, orbs fluttering shut.
Your fingers threaded through his onyx black locks, brushing through the knots soothingly. Knowing you’d help this man heal no matter how long it took, you took comfort in the realization that he’d finally let you do just that.
“I’ll be right here. You’re not alone, Levi. I promise you never will be.”
He pulled you closer, thankful that there was at least one source of warmth left in his life that he could hold onto-- especially after coming to terms with and almost having been certain he’d never experience this feeling of contentment, again. But here you were to prove him wrong, a living slice of home in his arms.
It may have been wishful thinking, but you could have sworn you felt Levi’s breath fan across your hairline, a soft voice whispering “Thank you, (Y/N).” before you felt yourself slip away into slumber once more.

Can you do a draco x reader with us watching a film and reader saying how they’re crushing over a certain character

—————————
the room smelled of freshly buttered popcorn, soft drinks, and unhealthy snacks and for the same reason the night celebration was in place, strong mint gum. tonight was cleared, a time for you and draco to just relax, cuddle up within each other and have a break from everything going around.
the years after graduating a boarding school were life changing, even wizards themselves who could conjure up almost anything they’d ever want or possibly dream of but still, it was the time of realization for who and what you wanted to be.
and yes, there were the newts but they didn’t help much once you really got a look into the real world. many had found a passion in something that seemed wondrous— more fun. traveling and exploring the world, maybe even discovering more mystical creatures that hadn’t been learned in a simple care of magical creatures class and weren't seen in their own time because their parents didn't have the resources.
and some were set on everything but those test scores, a family business awaiting their sole airs take over and draco well, he was a part of that some. and surprisingly enough, even after all that time and all of those expectations set on him to live up to and stay in his family standard, he didn’t, and it was much to your encouragement.
his interest in healing sprung up in his last year of schooling coming to the conclusion that he’d been a prejudiced bully— not that he hadn’t already known that but, of course he did. but once he was left with less than five friends and a girlfriend who was steadily distancing herself further and further away from him, it set in.
so that’s where it started, him identifying nearly all of his mistakes and attempting to heal what had been broken relationships— which most never really did. but it was a change, and a good one at that, it brought him an inner joy, not for the factor of him getting things out of it like you wanting to be in his company more often but that he was mending the seemingly unfixable things.
it made him want to do that and not run a stuffy business that didn't do much but treat their workers poorly and customers even worse so he turned to medicine. observing how so many things lined up with potions, adding the right amount of this, and crushing that up the right way, to make a final product. a product that would soon heal the injured and bring a great smile to both of their faces.
but what he hadn’t realized was that being a healer took time and hard work— almost unusual to someone like him, being constantly handled things and easy ways out but with this, there was no fast tracking or getting anywhere if you didn’t have the right skill set or talents.
so to say he wasn’t ready for it would be a wrong statement. but to say he was exhausted, completely drained of all energy would be completely right. even after all of your cheering on, reminding him that it was only a few more months of studying and one big more test until he’d get to know if he earned his title of healer malfoy.
and usually, that worked, but after tonight after taking that so called big test, his mind was racked with anxiousness. if he didn’t pass, his father would be on his back, telling him how it was a waste of money and how he should've listened to him to that you’d even be disappointed in him— unlikely but as said before, there was nothing but anxious thoughts and anxious scenarios coming through.
so it was painfully clear that your natural remedies wouldn’t work, countless amount of neck kisses and back rubs and muscle soothing not sufficing so you both agreed on the last thing you couldn’t think about, a simple night with the television on, just in each other’s company to try and get his mind off of things—
“you said this was a muggle film, correct?” he called out for confirmation, eyeing the packaging of the movie you called.. the titanic?
“mhm, one of my favorite movies, i just know you’ll love it,” you said from the other side of the living room with a wide smile on your face, near close to beating a cheshire cats. the movie itself was beautiful, you couldn’t lie, the directing and acting brought tears to your eyes almost every time you watched it.
but there was ‘something’ else that could bring tears to your eyes, a gazing stare at the screen whenever his parts would come on.
draco handed you the plastic, allowing you to remove the disk and insert it into the dvd player. you quickly made your way back into the make shift bed made out of blankets and pillows and once the black screen turned green, copyrighted warnings started, you tucked yourself into his awaiting arms.
“why’d you say you loved this again?” he asked for the second time, limbs wrapped around your body as you searched for a response.
“umm, really eye catching.”
and yeah, of course, you were comfortable with him, growing up going to the same school for months at a time and then dating for a good fraction of those years. there was also the memory of a night where you two tirelessly played a game of dare or dare, multitudes of dares coming both your ways to say the most embarrassing, weird, or even azkaban worthy things you’ve done.
but it was something else telling him that you were crushing over a fictional character— who wasn’t even that since the story was true but you were crushing on the actor of that said fictional character that you had no chance with and that, well it was something better left unsaid.
and as it went on, he could see that too, the way your eyes were stuck onto the screen the other blonde was in frame— on the break of amusing how’d the only time your attention would shift is when he’d reach you another piece of popcorn, you offering a grateful smile before focusing back.
your mouth was slightly agape, opening for another piece just how the rhythm had been going, him eating one, him feeding you one, him eating one and so on but now he was beating it further and further away from before your body eventually gave up, falling on his chest.
“hey, why’d you that?” you groaned, annoyed that you were now looking at him from below instead of watching the film.
“why’d you say you picked this again?” his eyes were narrowed down at you, a sly smirk in place. you moved around, trying to remember your excuse and hide the growing smile arising to your face.
“I already told you, it’s eye catching.”
“no,no,no, who’s eye catching?” he asked again, this time correcting himself in order to get a more truthful response. you let out a half embarrassed, half astonished laugh before answering—
“if i tell you, you can’t laugh.” all he did was raise his eyebrows at you, positioning you on his lap, signaling for you to go on with two taps of his finger on your thighs.
“okay well—” you paused, a loss of words and a huff following, “all i’m saying is if jack were to run me over... i’d be the one to apologize.”
your tone of seriousness only made the barks of laughter from the boy underneath you louder, a small pout coming on your face as a response trying to not end up laughing at yourself—
“jack, are you serious? he’s one of the most basic people i’ve seen,” he said through breaths of air, slight tones of jealousy coming out making your head turn in feign sympathy.
“you do know that i’m dating you, right?”
“yea and what’s that supposed to mean?”
“your eyes are blue and hair is blonde and you’re the typical skinny wh—” you started, responding to his defensiveness in the best way possible.
“it sounds like you’re just describing him.” point completely missed. “and so what, what could a fictional character do for you that i couldn’t?” he asked with a smirk, your face saying nothing but unfazed and unamused.
“fine even though if you were listening you'd know that he’s not completely fictional, but everything. would you ever go down with me on an unsinkable ship and then let me survive only the door we could find?” you asked, sighing after like it’d been a dream of yours.
“no. love, take this as me caring for you but i don’t think we’d sink on an unsinkable ship— it’s in the name.”
“were you not listening? and stop, it’s romantic, don’t ruin this for me,” you scolded, lightly hitting his arm.
“they both could’ve gotten on, jack just wasn’t the brightest. and would you really rather date someone that daft over me?” his nose scrunched to further show his disgust, your scoff not failing to sound after.
“know what, if you were a fictional character, no one would like you.”
“sure, i bet i’d have at least two hundred of you treating me like him.” the smugness in his tone was apparent than ever. you loved him, more than anything in the world but, he wasn’t much compared to jack dawson.
and then came the other obstacle, there not being a valid way to prove to someone like him, with such an inflated ego that no one would like a fictional character version of him. and when you repeated that, he was extremely butt hurt, still allowing his arms to reopen for you to snuggle back in.
single moments passed, another film starting to ease the argument before he spitefully grumbled, “i’d have people all over me.”
“no you wouldn’t!” you whisper shouted back tilting your head up to see his pouting face.
“yes I would, don’t doubt me—”

Promt: Wesker forgets about the reader’s birthday.
Pairing: Wesker x F!Reader
Word count: 2K
Type: fluff.
Wesker placed the samples with care on the table, starting his day as usual. He’s been spending his last few years, stuck in the lab researching all over again in order to achieve the wanted results. Since Uroborus is a high importance plan, he’s very meticulous about his schedule, respecting every minute precisely. Not a minute early, not a minute late. The only thing that he tries to put outside his schedule is you because he doesn’t like limiting the time he spends with his sweetheart. He cares so much about you that over the years he sees you as his equal, so he plans to inject you with the progenitor virus, a weaker strand because he can’t risk killing you. Because of this, he wants to do it on a special day, but the many opportunities that arrived didn’t fit in his schedule. The greatest gift he ever received was the power he got after breaking the confines of humanity, so he wants you to experience the same joy. Wesker kept thinking about it but he would get distracted by his work, so his present would always be in the planning stage. He doesn’t want to do it suddenly, he wants to introduce the idea slowly to you because he respects your boundaries.
Once you earned his respect, Wesker can be a very carrying partner, human even. He knows every little detail about his sweetheart, from her birthday to what she last ate. It can seem creepy when you put it like this, but this is nothing more than a lover who deeply cares about his partner and seeks to make her happy. Wesker is not the greatest at showing it though because of his work life. He has little to no time to show his affection. He still shows you that he is there for you, but not as much as he wants, making him more frustrated. Sometimes when he comes home from work he is so tired he barely sees you, let alone talk with you. He either collapses on the couch or bed and falls asleep as you talk with him because he is just too exhausted to carry the conversation. This doesn’t sit right with him because he gives all of his attention and energy to his work and doesn’t have any left for the only person that matters to him, making him wonder if it’s all worth it.
The relationship didn’t have a great start, since you expected Albert to be with you at least 8 hours a day but you’re lucky if you catch him once a week. He’s not the type to express himself and constantly expects others to read his mind, so you two would end up fighting. You have mistaken the lack of presence as rudeness and indifference, basing your reasoning on all the rumors you heard until you realized they were all stupid. Wesker proved to be the contrary, talking so nicely to you and not belittling you at all even if you piss him off. The amount of respect this man offered you even from the beginning is astonishing. He was so transparent with you and with all he does and he had so much patience until you understood. He was just a working man with probably burnout syndrome, so you took the responsibility to take care of him.
His phone buzzed since he started his work. Calls, messages, idiots without brains, as he calls them, needed help doing their job. When he had enough he picked up his phone and started to scroll down through notifications. Some of these people make him curse like a sailor, especially the one who texted him the most. As useful as Excella is in helping with his projects, as annoying she can be. Hundreds of messages and calls, some related to work some not. A particular question caught his attention.
“Do you think y/n would like this?” A picture of a purse was attached. Excella can’t stand you for obvious reasons, but out of respect for Albert, she tries to be friends with you. Still, why would Excella buy something for you out of the blue?
“Is something special today?” He thought.
The horrifying grimace when the realization hit cannot be described. Today is indeed a special day, your birthday. To be honest, he doesn’t care about birthdays. He despises them because they are a reminder of our mortality, but he knows how much you care about such occasions. Every year you got him something even if he insisted not to buy anything for him. Seeing you care and how much you enjoy receiving gifts he changed his mindset. Usually, he would give you something common, just as others would, but then he began to put more effort until there wasn’t anything material in this world to give. That’s how the progenitor virus gift arises in his head. However, he’s been so caught up with his research on Uroborus that he completely forgot to make the preparations. You don’t feel the days pass when you’re stuck in a lab all the time. He puts the phone aside, grabs his coat, and rushes out of the building ignoring the people that are trying to talk with him. If not the virus, he will have to find something common.
He’s not a fan of last minutes gifts but he has no choice. The guilt crushed him further as he remember he hasn’t talked with you all day. The ride to the jewels store felt like ages, even if it was relatively close. Luck was on his side since he found the store open.
None of the jewelry in front of him caught his attention because it wasn’t something he hopes of giving you. He already buried you in gold. You have the finest, unique, and expensive jewels in the world. He wouldn’t have been injected you in a lab of course. He wanted a special place for your rebirth. All of his ideas were put on paper, but probably got lost in the pile of reports. All he wanted was to see you smile on the most important day of your life, perhaps looking at him with the same eyes as his. He wanted to make you feel as you were the center of his universe, his queen, but he failed miserably. Maybe if he had gotten any outstanding results today he wouldn’t be so upset, but it was just another ordinary day. The lady tried talking with him but he was lost in his thoughts. Knowing it’s late and that you’re waiting for him, he bought a pearl necklace and left in hurry. On his way home he tried thinking of what to say, what excuse would be the best but he concluded that all of them were outdated.
Before opening the door, he hid the small package in the inner pocket of his coat. That lady was in hurry to close the store and didn't want to wrap the necklace if gift wrap. Wesker will remember that.
“I’m home!” He shouted once he entered. He may screw up, but he is not a man who runs away from conflict or a man who doesn’t own his mistakes.
“I thought you’d spend the night in your lab.” She said while giving him a peck on his cheek. “You need a vacation dear, you’ll be worn out before your time”
You were so carrying with him, so kind, but he couldn’t enjoy it. He didn’t deserve your kindness.
“There is something I need to tell you.”
“About?” You were starting to get worried. He left in hurry this morning and you didn’t hear anything from him all day. Excella told you briefly about him, but she talked more about the purse she bought for you which was more for her taste, not yours. Judging by his face you realized he had something on his mind, but you would never think it was because he forgot about your birthday. You expected him to talk about an outbreak rather than your forgotten birthday. To your surprise, he started apologizing.
“I was so caught up in my work I-“ he considers apologies a waste of time since we could do better things with our mortality and limited time, but for a reason, humans care about these.
“It’s alright my love.” You caress his face as a reassuring sign. “I understand.” You’re not upset at him. He genuinely cares about you and you can’t judge him, not after all the good things he has done for you. And besides, you know he doesn’t fully mean it, but you appreciate that he still does it for the sake of your feelings.
You began to caress his cheeks, to place small kisses all over his face. You see him rarely so you make sure to show him how much you love him as well. You hug him and he instantly hugged you back. After a while, you broke the hug and lead him to the couch so you can talk about each other’s day. He’s thankful you both moved on.
Eventually, you two got more comfortable. You let all your weight fall over his body as his strong arms were wrapped around your torso. His big hands were caressing your back while you found your peace in that small, almost suffocating, clasp. You almost fell asleep when a gentle squeeze woke you.
“I almost forgot.” He said, almost whispering, before handing you your gift. “It’s not what I had planned, but I hope you’ll find it enjoyable.”
Hazily, you took the small box Albert handled to you. It was a normal, jewelry box with the logo of the store on it. Inside there was a beautiful, shiny pearl necklace. Your delicate fingers touched the pearls with care, feeling their gritty texture and small bumps here and there. It weighs heavy in your hands. You fell in love instantly with the accessory. Seeing how happy you are, Albert offered to put it at your neck. Its elegance enhanced your natural beauty. It looks like it was made solely for you, like an extension of your body.
“I bet it was a lot.” You said with a somehow sorrow in your voice. You don’t want Albert to spend heavy money on you, because it’s his presence that you enjoy and value the most.
“Don’t worry about it, I like spending money on you.” And it was true, he loves dressing you in the most expensive clothing to flatter your body. You’re a goddess to him. Not to mention it strokes his ego to know that he’s able to provide such beautiful things to you. “At least this is what I can do.”
“And it’s perfect this way.” You can see him relax a little.
“I’ll make it up to you, I just need some time.” Time, mortality, death. Once again he was reminded of his plan that was supposed to fix humanity's greatest flaw, and his expression suddenly changed. That didn’t get past Y/N’s attention.
“Albert sweetheart, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, some problems I need to solve.”
“Are they urgent?”
“Yes, very.”
“I’m sure they can wait until tomorrow.”
He scanned your body carefully. You weren’t getting any younger. Time left its mark on you. Not in an unpleasant way, but still noticeable.
“There something I need to tell you.” He said while sitting on the edge of the bed, watching you how you admire your new necklace. In the lights of the vanity mirror the pearls shine brighter, being more appealing than before making it impossible to take your eyes off them.
“What is it?” You said while gazing at your own reflection.
He choose his words carefully, but no matter how he put them, it could scare you. It’s not the time or the place. He doesn’t want to ruin your happiness. His actual surprise might not sit well with you, but it’s not your choice after all. If he considers it the best option for you he will do it regardless of your opinion. Still, this day came out better than he expected.
“Maybe tomorrow.”

for obikin, maybe pretending to hate each other au? (sth where their ages are a little closer, perhaps, so obi-wan can be intensely petty and not feel the need to Set an Example)
45. (Pretending To) Hate Each Other (raised as Sith!Anakin, salty!Padawan Obi-Wan)(1.6k)
Obi-Wan turns away from the training stalles with a barely suppressed sneer. Anakin, as he is to be called, has defeated his opponents. His fellow Padawans. Darth Vader has become a Padawan and everyone is just fine with it.
Obi-Wan marches out into the halls, not knowing where he’s going, but knowing he must get away from the smirk on Anakin’s face as he had lowered his training saber to his opponent’s neck. Does no one but Obi-Wan remember how just months ago Vader’s saber had been pressed against his neck and it hadn’t been a training exercise? Does no one remember the atrocities Anakin had committed, the sentients Anakin had killed?
And yet Obi-Wan’s master seems infinitely fascinated by the boy. And yet Obi-Wan, it seems, cannot step out of his own room without finding this Anakin underfoot, either taking tea with his Master, or dolefully skulking around the doorway of Obi-Wan’s quarters. What draws the boy, he has no lasting idea.
They’re approximately the same age, he supposes, although Obi-Wan has a few years at least on Anakin--it’s clearer to see now that Anakin has stopped wearing his helmet and armor into battle, now that the lines of his face are not hardened by scowls and snarls. Really, he’s a boy. His medical chart puts him at eighteen, making him four years Obi-Wan’s junior.
And, he supposes, Qui-Gon was the one to find Anakin wounded on the battlefield, the one to insist they treat the Sith, heal him, and give him shelter. But Obi-Wan was the one who had found the slave chip embedded between his ribcage, the one who had alerted the Council to its presence, so it could be used to find the boy’s master, to capture him or kill him, to end the war.
But surely, whatever small part Obi-Wan had played in the war’s conclusion, the Force should have known better than to repay him by gifting him with the care and keeping of a Sith Lord, Chosen One or not.
Although Obi-Wan can admit, even if only to himself, that it’s worse when Vader latches onto anyone else in the Temple. His master is too starry-eyed by his ideas of Vader’s midichlorians, his destiny as the Chosen One, to see the boy in front of him now.
And anyone younger than Vader is too easily swayed by his looks, his charm, his disgustingly transparent eagerness to know about the Temple, about the Jedi way of life.
Obi-Wan knows this. He’s fought a Sith at 20, fended it off after it dealt a nearly fatal blow to his Master. They cannot be reasoned with. Vader cannot be reasoned with.
Anakin exists only as a figment of their imaginations, their desire to have the Chosen One fly under the Jedi colors. He is not real, not anymore.
Gradually, Obi-Wan finds himself making his way up the stairs of the Jedi Temple. Of all the spots to hide--to sulk, as his Master would say--the rooftop is the one least likely to be checked. It is one of Obi-Wan’s favorite areas in the entire building.
But he had not thought to check for stragglers before arriving at his destination, had thought the thunderstorms of his own Force presence would keep others at bay. He hadn’t yet figured Vader into his calculations, hadn’t remembered the propensity Vader had for showing up right when Obi-Wan least wanted him to.
“You left,” Vader--Anakin--whoever accuses, as Obi-Wan sits down on the rooftop. The wind howls around them. Obi-Wan has the distinct thought that they’ve lived through this before, that last time Vader had cornered him on a rooftop, he had threatened to take a piece of his body home to his Master. Now, Vader is standing in his home.
Obi-Wan takes a very deep breath and banishes those sorts of thoughts. Anakin, he reminds himself. Anakin.
And just as importantly, the chip. There had been a chip. Not controlling Va--Anakin’s thoughts, but certainly controlling his actions. What he would do to survive is no different from what Obi-Wan had done to survive; they had just been on opposite sides of the war.
Is Obi-Wan weak for not being able to move past that? For not being able to greet the boy--the man--Anakin with open arms into the folds of his family?
“I did,” Obi-Wan replies, keeping his eyes on what he can see of the city skyline.
Anakin steps closer. “Why?”
He turns to face him, takes in his sweaty appearance and messy tunics. He must have been looking for Obi-Wan’s reaction. He must have seen the exact moment Obi-Wan had turned, must have scrambled to cloth himself as he followed after.
“Why does it matter?” He asks instead of answering, always instead of answering.
“Because I wanted you to watch,” Vader says.
“I’ve seen you kill Padawans before,” Obi-Wan turns away and stands up until he can lean against the high protective walls of the roof. “I wasn’t impressed.”
Vader feels frustrated in the Force. No. Anakin.
Anakin. “It was a training exercise.”
“Now,” Obi-Wan points out. “Or do you mean then?”
“Would you hate me if I said both?” “I hate you now, Vader.” The other boy’s Force signature withdraws, flinching away from Obi-Wan’s ire. He hears him sit down. He’d rather throw him off the roof.
But: “Don’t call me that,” the boy pleads quietly. “I know I can’t--that I don’t--” he cuts himself off and grows quiet.
Obi-Wan would say something to break the silence, but he doesn’t want to engage the boy if he doesn’t have to. If he closes his eyes, he can feel and see the Force raging around them, violently buffering them as it demands some sort of denouement.
The boy inhales and stands again, stepping forward hesitantly until he’s a scant foot away from Obi-Wan. “My mom always told me she thought for ages about my name. That it had come to her in a dream after I was already a month old, that it was bad luck to have waited for so long to name me because infants on Tatooine can die as quickly as their mothers.
“And then I...I couldn’t use it or hear it or speak it for so long that I think I almost forgot it, almost lost it to Sidious and...and Vader. So even if you hate me, and I know you should hate me, I know I’ve never done anything to you that cancels out the bad I’ve done to you, but. Please don’t call me that. I think it would have made her sad."
Obi-Wan works his jaw as he stares off into the city. He doesn’t think V--Anakin has ever said so many words to him. If he gives in now, he’d be just as bad as the other padawans who had welcomed Anakin in amongst them because of his big eyes and soft lips and earnest enthusiasm.
Anakin seems to take his silence as permission to continue, which it isn’t. “And I know I’m not. That I can’t be--won’t ever be a Padawan, or a Jedi Knight, that. That I’ll never wear a braid or anything. I’m not--I don’t want another Master. I never want another Master.”
Obi-Wan turns his head just enough to look at Anakin. He’s spent an awfully long amount of time hanging around Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan’s quarters if he doesn’t want a Master. But...what he’s saying makes sense, and, more importantly than that, soothes the furious emotions in Obi-Wan’s chest enough that he can speak. “Then I can’t understand why.” Why you’re here, why you won’t leave me alone, why you chose to follow me if you’re not trying to dispose of me and take my Master for yours.
Anakin sighs, leaning his head on his hands as he looks out at the city. Obi-Wan finds himself annoyed with that as well, even though he’d just been doing the same thing. Now he can’t tear his eyes away from Anakin’s profile.
“You’re warm in the Force,” Anakin says eventually. “I think maybe I spent too long in space, because I’m always cold. Except when I’m around you. You burn. You always have. I used to think that maybe--it was hatred or disgust at me, when I met you in battle, and you were an inferno. But you burn when you’re on creche duty too. A different kind of fire, but still so warm. It’s just your soul. It’s just who you are.”
Obi-Wan blinks open-mouthed at him. He’s never considered the thought that Vader--Anakin--had been trailing after him for anything other than easy access to his Master. Now he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do or say.
There’s a part of him that still doesn’t understand what Anakin wants to get out of his tenancy at the Temple, a part that whispers that the Sith can’t be trusted, no matter how blue they can make their eyes look. But the Jedi part of Obi-Wan is bigger.
The Jedi part of Obi-Wan tells him to extend his hand just enough to brush against Anakin’s exposed wrist. It’s a point of vulnerability the boy doesn’t shy away from.
“Would you…” he asks slowly, forcing the words out of his tight throat. “Like to meditate with me?”
Anakin looks astonished, then hopeful, then disappointed, then dejected. “I’m no good at meditating,” he says, scuffing the point of his shoe on the ground. “It wasn’t a huge part of my...former Master’s curriculum, and the Force is just so loud in my head that it’s hard to do anything but react.”
He looks up at Obi-Wan through his eyelashes, biting his lip as if he’s afraid that he’ll be turned away for this.
Instead, Obi-Wan turns fully to face him and latches onto his flesh hand. “There are some things, I’ve found,” he murmurs, leading them away from the edge of the roof before pulling Anakin down to sit cross-legged in front of him, “that are much easier done with someone else. Done together.”
#that last line shows up in anakin's wedding vows#like eight years later#and obi-wan thinks anakins making fun of him#but really that was just the moment sith!anakin decided obi-wan would singularly possess his heart and soul for the rest of his life#of course he was gonna quote it in the wedding vows#OBi-WAN#what did you expect?? him to quote the line about killing padawans??#asks#obikin#my fics#omg im so happy i told myself when i finished writing and posting this i would get to eat two gyoza and now its gyoza time#its also 12:33 am#but most importantly its gyoza time#prompt fill

love and revolution
Magnus was intently working on a bookshelf. It was made of a beautiful, dark mahogany and, upon the request of the customer, was going to have dozens of birds carved into the sides and edges. He began sanding the shelves with a fine grit sandpaper. For a while, the only sound in the Hammer and Tongs was the soft, repetitive noise of wood being worn down.
The calm monotony was broken when the front door creaked open. Magnus looked up and grinned at the entrant; Julia Waxman, loaded down with bags from various merchants in town, had returned, the last dregs of the late afternoon sun trailing in after her. The sharp bite in the air let everyone know winter was just around the corner.
Magnus quickly stood up to relieve Julia of her burden She smiled and handed him half the bags in her arms. As the pair got to work unloading the bags, Magnus frowned. Everything Julia had brought home was either small, poor quality, or about to turn.
“This is what everyone had. Season’s been tough for farming and everyone’s raising prices to keep up with Kalen’s tariffs,” Julia said before Magnus could comment. She inspected the hard loaf of bread she’d been able to grab.
Magnus shook his head. For nearly a year, Governor Kalen and his cronies had been enacting increasingly harsh laws, oppressive curfews, and predatory taxes; the citizens of Raven’s Roost all felt the firm pressure of Kalen’s fine leather boots on the neck of their economy and of their freedom.
“How is everyone doing?”
Julia shrugged. “They’re all doing as well as they can. The Silverstrings are worried because their wheat harvest was half as fruitful this year as it was last year and a good portion of what grew was seized by Kalen.”
“Lucatiel?”
“His wool has largely been commandeered by Kalen. He hopes to be able to shear another large batch before winter hits in earnest but he’s uncertain.”
“And Therala?”
“Her herd’s dwindling. Most of the calves from this past spring either died or –“
“Were taken by Kalen and his pals. Right. Jules, how does he keep getting away with this?”
Julia laughed sharply and started putting some of the dry goods in the storage closet in the back of the shop. “Magnus, that’s just how things have always been here. For a while, anyway.”
“But how’d he even get into power in the first place?” There was nothing but pure astonishment in his voice. In the five years he’d lived in Raven’s Roost, he’d never quite been able to comprehend how someone so ruthless could have gotten the trust of the town; his friends and neighbors were good, honest folks and good judges of character. It made no sense to Magnus.
She puffed out her cheeks and thought for a moment. “He helped form Raven’s Roost into a proper town. We used to be vulnerable to bandits and those who sought to cause pain. He was stern but that kept us in shape. He used to be better. Genuinely. Not good, not at all, but not like this. His policies were never quite this harsh. I suppose he’s gotten greedy.”
“It’s senseless for him to dig this deep this quickly. If it continues like this, I don’t know that the town is going to last much longer.”
Julia said nothing. She knew Magnus was right but what was to be done about it? The two continued to unpack and put away items in silence.
“Papa won’t talk to me about how business is going here. Said he doesn’t want me to worry about things. How are we doing?” Julia looked at Magnus seriously.
He hesitated. Steven had specifically asked him to not discuss the business with Julia but when he saw her in front of him, firm hands anxiously picking at a sliver on the table, he found it hard to deny her.
“We’ve done better. I’m sure you’re aware the craftsmen corridor has been hit pretty hard by all the tariffs. Not only can we hardly afford to replace the tools and materials we need but the rest of the town can’t exactly afford our wares. We get the occasional customers,” he gestured to the bookshelf he’d been working on. “But we’re not doing great.”
Julia nodded and looked down. “That’s not exactly reassuring. But thanks for telling me.”
“Of course. Just don’t tell your dad I said anything,” he said sheepishly.
“Deal,” she said, glancing back at him with a smile.
-
Magnus sat on a bench outside the Hammer and Tongs and stared up at the moons. His teeth were chattering quietly but he wasn’t quite ready to turn in for the night. Isaiah Erksine, Kalen’s right-hand man, had distributed yet another list of tariffs and regulations to all the shops in Raven’s Roost earlier in the day. They were unconscionable; taxes and levies on every single scrap of material you could think of. Harsher curfews that made it nearly impossible for those in the craftsmen corridor to do much else besides make goods that nobody could afford. It was like the very essence of life was slowly being choked out of the town. Or, at the very least, the spirit of its inhabitants.
Magnus’s ruminative spiral was broken when he felt a thick, scratchy blanket draped over his shoulders. He glanced up and smiled; Julia, dressed far more sensibly than Magnus, darted a hand back through the doorway. In a moment, Magnus’s hands were wrapped around a piping hot mug of mint tea. Admittedly, the drink was more water than tea, but he drank it appreciatively.
“You seem troubled,” Julia mused, sipping from her own chipped mug.
“I am, Julia.” He confirmed, scooting over to make room on the bench. Julia mulled it over for a minute before sitting down. Heat was radiating off her like a fire and it took everything in Magnus to not immediately wrap his arms around her and hold her close. Though he did scoot a little closer. You know, to keep warm.
“I’d like to think that we could go a single week without tax hikes but it’s seeming more and more like a pipe dream,” she said flatly. “I hate this. I’ve lived among these people for as long as I can remember. Raven’s Roost is my home. When I was a little girl, I always used to think dream about the day that I’d get to raise my own family here. It felt like such a safe and warm place. And now…” She glanced at Magnus before she looked to the sky. “Now most days I feel like things might be easier if I just go somewhere else. And I don’t want that. I want to stay. I want to want to stay. I just don’t know that there’s going to be anything to stay for if this keeps up.”
“I want there to be something here for you,” Magnus murmured quietly, looking at Julia’s profile in the moonlight.
“Magnus, believe me, I don’t want to leave my home. I don’t want to leave –“ She looked at Magnus from the corner of her eye. “I don’t want to leave the people here. I just don’t think I can keep living under Kalen.”
“What if we don’t have to?” The words escaped Magnus’s mouth before he could even make sense of them himself.
Julia lurched and turned to look at Magnus, bewildered. “I’m sorry?”
Magnus had a choice. He could have easily retracted his statement. He could have laughed it off. But instead of thinking it over for any amount of time, he doubled down. “What if we don’t have to keep living under Kalen? What if we could still live here, in Raven’s Roost, but without that tyrant?”
Julia looked around before scooting closer to Magnus, their wind-chapped noses nearly touching. “Are you suggesting…” she took a breath, as though to steel herself. “Are you suggesting a revolt?”
Magnus could barely focus on the question with Julia this close to him. “I-I think I am,” his voice was near silent.
Julia nodded. “Okay. How’re we going to do this?”
-
Watery winter light did its best to penetrate the frost coated windows of the Hammer and Tongs. Magnus was idly whittling a piece of scrap wood. There weren’t any orders to work on and Candlenights was right around the corner; he figured he could fashion something homemade for both Julia and Steven.
His pocketknife nearly went flying out of his hand when the door of the shop burst open, startling him out of his focus. Standing in the doorway was a young earth genasi he recognized from town. He looked frantic and near tears. Magnus set his project down.
“Hey, Allura, what’s the matter?” Magnus asked, inviting the young man inside and shutting the door behind him.
“Magnus, it’s my dad,” Allura choked out. He looked gaunt and miserable; Magnus thought back to a few months ago when the entire Mountaindeep family came into the Hammer and Tongs, jovially talking about commissioning a crib, as a new baby was on the way. Allura, a kid all of fifteen, had chattered to him for ten minutes about how excited he was to become a big brother. He looked decidedly less excited in that moment.
“What happened?”
“W-we couldn’t pay the tariffs. My dad has been charging everyone half price. H-he said he couldn’t hike the prices up, it wasn’t right. And we couldn’t… Kalen took him away!” he cried, bordering on hysterical.
“Allura, buddy, you gotta breathe, okay? What do you mean Kalen took him?” Magnus led him to a chair.
“H-he hauled him off to the prison and I don’t know what’s gonna happen to him and my m-mom’s giving birth soon and I can’t help with that, I don’t know how,” He managed to get out, hiccupping between every few words, too distraught to calm down.
“Julia!” Magnus called up the staircase in the back of the shop. He had to get this kid to stop crying so he could get the full story and Julia tended to have a calming presence on, well, everyone.
In a moment, she appeared at the bottom of the stairs and sent Magnus a confused look. He nodded towards the crying teenager as explanation.
Julia rushed over, knelt down, and took Allura’s face in her thick hands. “Hey, hon, can you breathe with me?” she cooed gently. And for a few minutes, the shop was silent, save for Julia counting breaths for Allura.
“Can we hear the story again, bud?” Magnus asked quietly after a few moments.
Allura nodded and sniffled. “You guys know that Kalen raised the tariffs. Again. Um. My dad decided to slash his prices, not raise them to keep up. Said he couldn’t. He’s a big follower of Helm and he said it wasn’t right to keep medicines behind a steep price. He just wanted to help people. But Kalen came collecting today and he took my dad. And it’s not just him. He took Mr. Anvilrock and Sevara Mountainwillow and a few other people. And I don’t know what’s going to happen to them,” he said, his voice small and scared.
Magnus and Julia exchanged a look. She sent him a nod and turned back to Allura. “Okay. Thank you for telling us. Do you think that you can do us a favor?”
Allura furrowed his brow but nodded cautiously.
“Go around to the others in the craftsmen corridor and tell them to meet at the Hammer and Tongs tomorrow night? Just tell them it’s really important that everyone come. And if Kalen or his buddies ask you about it, be as vague as you can.” Magnus said seriously.
“If you’re asked about it, say that I’m teaching everyone how to patch their own clothes since Masden had to close down shop. ” Julia offered.
“But what about the curfew?” Allura asked, voice meek and eyes rimmed with red.
Magnus thought for a moment. “Tell everyone that we might have a way to keep us from having to worry about curfew ever again. I just need everyone to trust me.”
“I think I can do that.” Allura said, rising from the chair.
Julia patted him on the shoulder and slipped a gold piece into his hand. Before he could protest, she held her hand up and shooed him out the door.
Magnus rubbed his face for a moment. “Something’s gotta give, Jules.”
Julia reached a tentative hand out to squeeze Magnus’s hand quickly. “After tomorrow, I think something will. I hope.”
-
“Can either of you tell me why three separate people assured me that they’d do their best to make it to the shop tonight when I stopped in town a little bit ago?” Steven asked from the kitchen table.
Julia avoided her father’s gaze, busying herself with prepping tea instead.
Magnus focused intently on cracking eggs without getting any bits of shell in the bowl. He quickly whisked them together and held off on adding any salt or pepper to the mixture before setting them in the skillet. That was a little tip he picked up from—he thought for a moment—well, from his moms, he supposed. Apparently kept the egg from getting tough or something. He wasn’t really sure what that meant but followed the rule without fail. Made for good eggs, anyway.
“Am I just meant to be okay with the two of you encouraging our friends and neighbors to break the law to come over for a late-night chat?” A stern edge crept into Steven’s voice.
“Steven, we just wanted to have a meeting with the other craftsmen.”
“About what? What’s so important that it requires possibly getting some good people thrown in jail?”
“People are already getting thrown in jail!” Magnus protested. “Allura Mountaindeep came crying in here yesterday. His dad’s in prison, along with a handful of others who couldn’t pay. I just…Steven, you don’t have to agree with what we’re doing but you have to understand. I can’t keep sitting by and watch the town and people I love be beaten down by some big bully.”
Magnus returned his gaze to the eggs. The silence in the kitchen was broken by the teakettle’s shrill whistle.
“We have a plan. And hell, after tonight, it might not even be anything. But Papa, aren’t you tired of struggling? You can be as stoic as you like but I know the truth. This isn’t the life we should all be living. We should be able to have some shred of hope for a future that could matter. A future that isn’t just toiling until we die.” Julia stared at her father as she moved the kettle from the flame.
Steven stared back for a moment before glancing back at Magnus. He let out a sigh. “We can have the meeting but everyone is out before moonrise.”
Magnus and Julia smiled wide.
“Deal.” Magnus said, dividing the eggs between the three plates.
-
A hush fell over the group of craftmakers who all crammed into the Hammer and Tongs. It was a tight fit but it appeared that most of the corridor had managed to make the meeting. The sun had long since set, leaving only the meekest dregs of light hanging in the sky; moonrise was due in less than an hour. Magnus knew he had to make the meeting quick.
“I’m sure you’ve all heard of the few imprisonments that have come about as a result of Kalen’s new tariffs.” Magnus began, bouncing his gaze across those gathered in the shop.
A grumble of acknowledgement reverberated through the dense crowd.
“And I’m sure you all know that any of us could be subject to the same treatment just for being at this meeting.”
More noises of agreement bubbled up in the crowd.
“Then I’ll make it quick and worth your risk. I hate seeing Raven’s Roost like this. I know in my bones it could be better if things were different. I hate seeing everyone beaten down by these laws. I hate seeing Kalen’s friends allowed to do whatever they want, whenever they want, and never see any kind of repercussions for it. I’m sick of seeing people starving in the streets. Sick of seeing families torn apart because one of them had the audacity to be a kind person. I want Raven’s Roost to be a flourishing place.” He glanced over to Julia and pink stained his cheeks. “I want to be able to raise a family here. I want to want that. But as it stands, I don’t know that I can imagine a future for Raven’s Roost. I don’t know how many of us can last like this for much longer.”
“And what exactly are you proposing we do about it?” Hector Anvilrock, another metalworker in town, demanded.
“We’re proposing a revolution.” Magnus said simply.
The shop erupted in conversation. It began civil enough but quickly devolved into name calling and accusations of espionage and snitching. Magnus’s stomach dropped. He knew it wasn’t going to be an easy sell but if this was any indication, he feared for the future of any kind of revolution.
“Enough!” Julia said, climbing onto a chair. She was already taller than Magnus and nearly as broad so the added height made her the single most imposing figure in the room, though her warm brown eyes added an air of compassion. “I understand it’s a scary thought. But do we really think it’s a better idea to just roll over and get kicked? Sure, Kalen has numbers and power and resources. But we actually have something worth fighting for. We have the most skilled craftspeople on the continent. We have conviction. And we have a goal.” She sighed and rubbed her hand down her face. “I understand if any of you are scared or apprehensive. I won’t make demands. I won’t beg. I want you all to join us but I won’t look down on you for not getting involved. I just want to know that we can trust you.”
She glanced over at Magnus who was watching her, stars in his eyes. She raised her eyebrows at him and sent him a tiny nod.
“Well?” He asked, seeming to snap out of his daze. “Can we trust all of you?”
It felt like the entire show was holding its breath until Hector nodded. And then Allura. And then Therala. One by one, each person in attendance gave a silent pledge.
Magnus grinned, relief flooding his veins. This was only the first step, but they’d already hurdled over it with grace. He was certain they’d be able to make Raven’s Roost a safe place for all someday.

Grain of Sand | jjk
Genre: smut x fluff x established relationship x slice of life Pairing: blind!jjk x reader Rating: 18+ Word Count: 4.2k Warnings: cunnilingus, (light) ass play, fingering, jungkook fucks you against the kitchen sink so i guess that can be a warning, creampie Summary: Blind since the age of 18 from a genetic disorder, Jungkook walked through life as if he never lost it, but on one fateful day seven years ago he literally almost runs into you. He fell in love nearly immediately. Fast forward to the present and it’s just another day in your quiet life with him by your side.
Bright, warm sunshine filled the hallway of your home from the windows that lined the wall. It was one of the reasons you picked this house. You imagined hanging pictures up on the wall for the morning sun to rise upon and, at night, you could still easily see them in the light of the moon. And that’s exactly what you did when you moved in two years ago. Jungkook walked ahead of you, fingers delicately skimming the wall right beneath the pictures. The wall there looked more worn than the rest, a little oily sheen to it from his fingertips. Walls all over your home had these trails. They were like highways for him, directing him to the living room, kitchen, and every room in between. Sometimes, like now, you’d run your fingers along his path lovingly, grazing your fingers underneath your wedding photo.
“What would you like for breakfast?” he asked, and you saw as he tilted his head a little, knowing you were following quietly behind him.
You hummed in thought. You never really were that hungry as soon as you woke up, but the smell of breakfast always made your stomach growl.
“What about…eggs and bacon?”
“Toast?”
“Oh, yes, Taehyung gave us some fresh strawberry jam he made.”
He hummed in a content agreement, turning the corner ahead of you, two fingers brushing the dull edge as he continued down the hallway. The light overhead was still off, and the early morning sun had yet to reach this part of the house, but Jungkook moved by memory and his worn wall path before moving into the kitchen. As he walked into the room, you reached for the light switch and flicked it on.
“What would you like me to do?” you asked. You leaned against the counter as you watched his hands skim the cabinets, and you knew he was counting in his head, until he got to the one he wanted. He pulled out a pan as his other hand reached for the stove, hand finding the burner, before moving it to sit the pan down.
“Uh, if you want to grab the ingredients, that will help.”
“Sure thing, sweet pea.”
Jungkook laughed as he reached for the oil that sat by the stove.
“I should be calling you pet names.”
“You do all the time and you’re just too cute not to.”
Opening the refrigerator, you pulled out the necessary amount of eggs and bacon as not to cause confusion with a clutter of items.
Jungkook lost his sight at the ripe, but terrible age of 18. Retinitis pigmentosa was the cause of his progressive vision loss. Around 10, he started showing signs when he complained about not being able to see outside when he played later in the afternoon, even when the sun was still bright on the horizon. His parents’ worst fears were confirmed with his diagnosis and the heartache of explaining to their son that he would lose his vision completely was devastating. But Jungkook proved strong and focused on studying Braille and doing whatever he could to prepare himself. Over the years, his vision worsened, he didn’t get to get his driver’s license with his friends, and he missed out on many things, but that didn’t stop him from pursuing his passion in music. He felt a connection when he made music because without his vision, it made him that much more acute in his studies. You met Jungkook in college, both music majors, and the reason you had met was because he had accidentally thwacked you with his white cane.
“Oh my god I’m so sorry,” he had said reaching in your direction.
You had laughed and at first his face was set into a confused expression until you spoke.
“Oh, that little thing couldn’t even leave a mark if you had done it intentionally.”
His face screwed up as he tried to hold in a laugh but was unable to do so at your incessant giggling. When you spoke again was when he thinks he fell in love with you, but there were too many moments to count for him.
You nudged the end of his completely white cane with your foot, no red or other markings. “Completely blind, huh?”
You hadn’t said it with any disdain or judgement; you had said it as if you were just having curious, casual conversation. Most of the time Jungkook felt as if his blindness made him invisible to people as if it were some curse to have and if they accidentally came close to him, they’d hurt him or themselves. Of course, he had his close friends and family that didn’t even remember he was blind half the time, but society always kind of sucked that way.
But you, you were the first girl he had ever met that so blatantly astonished him within the first few minutes and his heart flipped in his chest. He didn’t even need to see you to know that you were perfect, and he would end up with you one day. And, sure enough, five years later you were married and looking for a new home.
“How does this one sound?” you asked one night over your tub of chocolate ice cream.
You both sat at your small kitchen table in your small apartment. Jungkook had one headphone in listening to an audiobook, head resting in his hand as his other played absently on yours. You were scrolling through houses on your phone, trying to find the both of you the perfect one. Jungkook hit pause on his book and looked in your direction. Despite his blindness, nothing about his eyes had really changed; they were still a beautiful brown and they were your favorite to see in the evening light, sunset set his eyes aflame.
“Babe, as long as the layout is easy to memorize and it’s what you want, it’s perfect for me.”
“I love you,” you whispered. Tears filled your eyes at the content look on his face, a slight smile played on his lips. You were truly happy with him, sharing every moment together, and to the fullest, but parts of you did feel sad that he couldn’t see it.
“My god,” he whispered somewhat dramatically and suddenly your tears became a small laugh because you knew where this was going. “If your love were a grain of sand…”
“Mine would be a universe of beaches,” you whispered back.
Now, here you were, in your home with its innocuous fingertip paths lining your walls in an intimate artwork that was priceless to you.
With your back to the counter you leaned and watched as he moved. You only offered help occasionally and when he asked for it, but you were content to watch. His hands always moved lithely, so smooth, as he reached for objects. He cracked the eggs easily into the hot pan as he began to hum. He’d sometimes hum, sometimes sing, but he’d always choose a song about the same length each time and that was how he timed his cooking. The bacon popped loudly.
“Oops, fire’s too high.” He turned the knob to lower the flame before carefully putting his hand back on the handle of his pan. He picked his song up a few seconds after where he left off. The eggs were frying perfectly in the pan, not that you expected any less.
You pushed away from the counter to start grabbing plates as he neared the end of his song. Before long, he had both plates perfectly set with eggs and bacon as you carried the toast to the table. You buttered and spread the strawberry jam on two pieces, dropping one on his plate as you brought them over. He followed behind you, hand on your waist lightly before sitting down at the table.
“What are we gonna do today?” you asked as you bit into the toast. “Holy shit Taehyung knows what he’s doing with this stuff.”
His smile was bright as he cut into his eggs. “What do you feel like doing?”
The sun was now up over the horizon, spilling into the windows and across your kitchen. You had hung various glass artwork throughout the house and right now the stained glass flower you had hung above the kitchen sink cast an array of colors into the room. Jungkook looked like moving artwork across from you. The colors shifted and changed as he moved, leaning back in his chair then forward again, elbow on the table, moving for a napkin, and each time he did splashes of red, green, blue, and yellow painted his skin.
You hadn’t realized you had fallen silent until Jungkook cleared his throat. “Babe?”
“Sorry, I was thinking.”
“About what?”
“The stained glass is casting a lot of pretty colors on you right now and I got distracted.”
“I bet it looks wonderful.”
He smiled softly as he reached for his glass of milk.
“Describe it to me?” He pushed his plate to the middle of the table as he finished. Placing his head in his hands, he looked in your direction, his eyes averted just down from your eyes and somewhere near the apples of your cheeks. Even if he rarely ever made eye contact, your soft voice always lulled him in and pointed him in the right direction.
“Remember when we’d get those cheap plastic kaleidoscopes as kids?” You pulled his plate towards you and stacked it on your own.
He laughed softly at the memory. “I used to think they were so cool, but the pieces inside were just as cheap as the outside.”
“Well think of that…just prettier.” His smile grew wider as his eyes closed and you knew he was thinking back on a memory. Probably a summer day down by the shore, the salty sea air, and the sun on his face. His mom is with him and everything is so bright. He sees the water and the way it stretches to the horizon, but in his peripheral it’s a little darker. For now, he’ll enjoy the waves.
You stood up and took the plates to the sink and began pulling the pots off the stove and putting them under the water with the rest. The sun still shone through the stained glass in front of you. You got lost in thought, hand still under the water waiting for it to heat up as you stared unblinking and the slightly swaying piece of glass. You jumped when a pair of hands softly caressed your hips.
“Shit,” you whispered. You were snapped out of your daydream and you shakily grabbed the sponge before pouring soap over it.
His lips came down on your neck. “Did I scare you?”
“Yea that was real dickish of you.”
He laughed against your neck as he snaked his arms fully around you and held you close. You began scrubbing at a pan as he hummed lightly, placing yet another kiss to your skin. He inhaled deeply and let his warm breath out slowly.
“You smell good,” he murmured.
“Well, I did take a shower last night….” You put the pan in the drying rack before reaching for another one.
His arms tightened around you and he brought himself a little more flush with your body. He hummed again as he moved his lips along the top of your exposed shoulder.
“What, pray tell, are you doing?” you asked in a mock accent as your hands dove blindly into the water as you searched for more dishes.
“Kissing you,” he said between small pecks.
“Okay.” You pulled a spoon from the filthy depths of the dish water when Jungkook’s hands moved back to your hips and his fingers dug lightly into them.
“Don’t move,” he whispered before dropping to his knees behind you.
Folding his fingers under the waistband of your shorts, he slowly began to pull them past your hips.
“What are you-“ You tried to turn around but keep your hands over the sink at the same time and you could only swivel so far at the hip.
“Shhh.” He kissed the small of your back and then the swell of your ass as he began to palm your ass cheeks. Slowly, he spread them further and further as he placed kisses along your skin. Your body had gotten whiplash; one second you were washing dishes and the next Jungkook was on his knees behind you. You shook slightly and your internal temperature began to rise. Suddenly, having your hands in the warm water became overbearing. You pulled them out and then clung desperately to a dish towel, but there was no way you were drying your hands right now. You felt his lips again and they were on the underside of your ass this time. You clutched the edge of the sink as you stared into the intricate flower in the glass.
Behind you, Jungkook spread your ass and dipped his head, tongue finding your cunt immediately. He hummed into you and you clenched. He spread them further as he licked at your center before he moved to your ass.
“A-ah,” you stuttered as you leaned more into the counter. His face was buried in your ass eating you out until he almost had your thighs shaking before he moved back to your now embarrassingly wet cunt. His moan was deeper this time as you dripped deliciously onto his tongue. Your mind seemed to exit the room as he shook his head, deepening this lewd kiss. He pushed himself up more on his knees, wanting to get as deep into you as he could. Your cries rose in pitch as your thighs began to shake. Your palms dug into the edges of the counters but all you could think about was him. He moaned the more you clenched, getting closer and closer to the release he wanted to give you. You could barely breathe now, and you were nearly on your tiptoes. All the while, Jungkook had his hands firmly on your thighs now with his face anchoring him to your body. You rocked back into his face and his moans began to pitch now, hands almost kneading at your thighs as he wrapped his hands around the front of them, pulling you harder into his face. Your mind felt as if it were on the brink of shutting down as your whole body began to shake. Every muscle in your stomach tensed as you felt yourself tumbling forward.
Different variations of his name fell from your lips in rapid succession as you crested the hill of your release. You fell over it when a large breath you didn’t realize you were holding. Your body shuddered and it felt as if all the blood inside rushed to your cunt. Jungkook was still eating you out as you came on his face, nearly crying into the kitchen sink. His grip on your thighs loosened first and then his tongue slowed. Your body shuddered every now and then from the aftershock. He kissed the underside of your ass again before standing. He pulled you into him again and held you close as you caught your breath. He kissed the side of your neck as his cheek rested against your skin.
“You taste good, too,” he mumbled.
You let out a shaky laugh. He had said it so nonchalantly as if he weren’t on his knees, face nowhere to be seen, just minutes before.
“Now, my kaleidoscope eyes,” he reached for the back of your knee and brought your leg upwards, “I need you to rest this here.”
He had your leg up on the counter comfortably and then he dipped his hand back between them. Your hips jerked involuntarily as he played with your painfully swollen clit. He circled the tips of his fingers on it softly. He kissed your skin delicately, reverently. The sun rose higher in the sky and from behind your eyelids you could see various colors of orange, blue, and red.
“You always describe the world so beautifully to me,” he whispered.
“I-I don’t want you t-to miss out.” You were a mess and he was making you an even bigger mess.
“Your vision of the world is far better than anything I could dream up.”
His fingers pressed a little harder and you wanted to clench around something only to be met with air. You whined a little as his breath picked up against your skin and he rutted into you. You felt his cock through his sweats and your mouth instantly watered. He hummed again as you began to drip on his fingers as he dipped them before pushing inside of you. He let out a shuddering breath as you swallowed his fingers fully, clenching hard around him. He pushed into you again, cock hard against your ass and he leaned into you as you pressed further into the counter.
“Tell me what you want,” he said gruffly as he pumped his fingers inside of you.
Your toes curled against the countertop, knee hitting a mug across the marble surface but neither of you bothered to acknowledge it. Jungkook was rutting into you now and breathing hotly into your ear. His other hand was on your breast kneading it roughly.
“God, Jungkook, just fuck me already.” You were doubled over with him hot on your back. His fingers pumped faster and faster and you were on your tiptoe again. You pushed your hips into him as he gave two more hard thrusts into you before pulling his fingers away.
His hands were only gone for what seemed like seconds before he had one on your hip and the other rubbing his cock between your folds. You moaned as you anticipated him. You didn’t have to wait long before he was sliding inside of you easily. His body was hot against yours and his skin against your ass was even hotter. His hand was at your breast again kneading as his heavy cock slid in and out of you slowly as if he were trying to make this moment last forever.
“What colors do you see now?” he whispered. His voice sounded strained like he was holding back. How were you supposed to concentrate?
You squinted when you were finally able to open your eyes; the sun was higher and brighter in the sky since you last looked. All you could think about was his cock softly nudging against the nerves inside of you, but he wasn’t going fast enough to really stimulate anything. You pushed your hips back into him again, but he didn’t take the bait as he pinched your nipple through your shirt. His other hand was anchoring your leg to the counter so you couldn’t move it from where he placed it. Plentiful soap suds were all over the sink and slowly popping but there was enough for the colors to be cast in a strange refracted way. The angle of the light caused more rainbows to shine from the hundreds of tiny bubbles. You reached out and braced yourself on the windowsill above the sink before you spoke.
“All of t-them. They’re shining on the soap now.” You were no stranger to describing things to Jungkook, but during sex was a new one.
He seemed satisfied as his pace quickened. His lips were on your neck, wet, and travelling upwards until he bit your earlobe between his teeth. Once again, you were pushing your hips into him as much as he’d let you. He was much too strong pushing you against the counter and his hand on your leg limited your movements.
“Jungkook, please.” You were breathless now, travelling up to that peak again but you needed more than this. He didn’t need to ask to hear your underlying question. He pressed against you harder while at the same time quickening his pace. The hand on your breast splayed across your chest before he moved it slowly down your stomach. Your breath caught in your throat as your stomach tightened. He was dipping his fingers between your legs again and pressed two fingers to your clit. Your chest came flush with the edge of the counter now and you felt Jungkook’s cheek on your shoulder blade. You reached for anything to brace yourself after your sweaty palm slid from the windowsill. You knocked soap and various other items down, sending some splashing into the water and others into the empty side of the steel sink. Jungkook ignored the clattering of items as he began to snap his hips harder. The pressure he had on your clit was barely there but enough to have you straining and willing your body to fall, but you just whimpered as you cried into the sink. He controlled your orgasm and all you could do was fall into the delectable pleasure he was giving you because you knew he always delivered. There was no way he was letting you physically walk away from this.
The room grew hotter the higher the sun climbed as it cast its menagerie of colors onto your face. The ends of your hair gathered the water droplets collected in the sink as your body shifted with each thrust. Without his sight, Jungkook was acutely more aware to other parts of your body. Like the way your cunt would flutter and tighten like a vice the closer you got your orgasm. He could practically feel the muscles in your back tense up as you focused all your attention to the burning in your abdomen. He pressed his fingers a little harder before moving them faster on your clit. The nerve endings inside were lit on fire, sending the hot flames licking in your core and up into your chest as every hair on your body stood on end as your skin flushed with goosebumps. You began to tremble, thighs cramping as you brought yourself fully up on your toes, other leg sweating against the marble counter. Jungkook’s large hand was still firm on the back of your thigh, keeping your leg up on the edge as he fucked into you faster and harder. You were crying loudly now, not holding anything back as he led you towards the end. Your orgasm hit with an explosion of colors behind your eyelids, aided by the stained glass. Jungkook’s fingers abandoned your clit in favor of bringing you more upright to turn your face enough for a searing kiss; his lips skated across your cheek before he found yours and you moaned into his mouth. He still thrust, ready to follow you down the other side and you clenched harder around him almost making it impossible for him to stay inside, but he had his hips hard against yours and into the counter in front of you. He braced himself against your thigh, his other hand on the counter now, and his lips still on yours as he spilled inside of you. Hot cum began to leak immediately around him and onto the floor. Usually you had your closed legs to keep it contained but now he was dripping all over the kitchen floor. Not that you minded. His moans dropped in pitch as he continued to thrust, overwhelmed by the feeling of you and his cum filling you up and then spilling out. With hips stuttering a few more times, he stilled. Without his movements you could now feel the slip of his cum as it came out of you. Slowly, he let go of your thigh and eased it to the floor. You winced as your cramped muscles begged for relief, but he was gentle in his movements, letting you adjust. He kissed your temple and the side of your face while you tried to regain your breath. Your legs felt as if they’d give out at any moment as they wobbled dangerously, but his steadfast grasp around your waist kept you upright.
The early morning sun still climbed in the sky, now out of view of the stained glass. The kitchen was yet again cast in the muted glow as it hid behind the trees, a display of leaves now covered the room in a strange dance. Jungkook was silent behind you, but still holding you close as he waited for your legs to regain their strength. The dishes sat scattered and forgotten in the sink and on the counter. The last of the soap bubbles were popping away and any hint of the colorful display was gone except for the stained glass now hanging somewhat plainly in the window.
He pulled you impossibly closer, face nuzzled into your neck as he hummed a nonsensical tune.
“Thank you,” he whispered. You were silent, knowing he had more to say. “Thank you for bringing color into my world.”
You squeezed his hand that was around your waist. You didn’t have to say much for him to understand, but what he didn’t know was how much he had brought into yours.
“If your love were a grain of sand…” you began.
“Mine,” he said with a whisper and a kiss to your exposed shoulder, “would be a universe of beaches.”
