DEE DEE BRIDGEWATER, THE BLUESY JAZZ QUEEN

Dee Dee Bridgewater received Grammys and Jazz Master Awards and many other distinctions for her contribution to Jazz and to Art in general.

Her style has the quality of taking any classic and make it her own. He voice is clear, full of emotion. She loves collaborating with the younger generations like the trumpetist Theo Croker or the bass player Christian McBride. She feels at ease surrounded by a solo trumpet, a funky bass or any instrument accompanying her. Dee Dee Bridgwater will play and respond to the instruments in a skillful way.

She’s well known in Europe, especially in France and can scat anytime like in One Fine Thing in her album Dee Dee’s Feathers (2015). Not too long ago, the jazz singer came up with an album that is not jazz but extremely soulful called Memphis, Yes, I’m Ready (2017). I would suggest Hound Dog, a bluesy piece that will make anyone appreciate her craft.

Dee Dee Bridgwater started in the 70’s and her version of the title Afro Blue announced the arrival of an incredible singer who beside jazz can venture in any genre. She’s the definition of the bluesy jazz artist.
