My Big Idea is to have BlockBuster be the first online platform to have both video streaming and games all in one place. BlockBuster Video is going to get a new look, along with BB Games, another name for the games platform was BB Game House, as we are connecting all gaming platforms and moving them into one community. This would be possible with partnerships with Playstation, Windows. and Apple. The reason we have Apple as a partner is because a lot of games are not available for Apple Mac, BlockBuster with its new games platform would change this and put the powerful Apple SSD’s to use.

The biggest aspect of this new platform is the community hub. Here members will be able to chat with other members on the platform about their favourite games, movies and tv series. This will also be made simple with each member to have their own profile and can showcase their favourites list of movies, tv and games. It will also feature a ‘Watching Now’ feature. This can be changed in the privacy settings to either allow the public to see, just friends or keep to yourself. The community hub will also be able to allow friends to create group chats and have a separate chatting area. 

The community hub will also include the biggest feature to come onto any online platform which is the VIP HUB. This is where VIP members will be able to have close contact with real game developers and be able to pitch their ideas on what they are looking for in a video game. Developers can then see the feedback and create catered games exclusively on the BlockBuster platform.

Enterprise- Self Assessment

In class we played Personality Poker. When playing this the suit that makes me is hearts. This means that I am very socially active and relationship oriented, putting me in a good position for a job like HR or costumer service. The role I’ve been given is Project Manager. I was given this role because I can clearly explain things and I am very well organised and can take charge when need be.

My duties include making sure everything is going to plan and that things in the plan are needing adjustments I am able to notice them and adjust them accordingly. I feel like I can improve in many aspects of my personality and work ethic while taking on this role in my team. Especially leadership and communication skills which can help me improve other skills along the way.

Showing a leadership role is natural for me as in higher dance I had to choreograph my own piece of dance with 5 people which was rather difficult to keep them in check and getting them to understand using my communication skills to emulate what I needed them to do.

I used teamwork when I helped raise money by organising a flash mob in dancing, we came up with ideas etc and eventually we had the idea of a flash mob so we had to find a location where it would be appropriate to do this. We worked together to achieve this and it worked out perfectly.

What is your lead suit in personality poker?

My lead suit in personality poker turned out to be Diamond.

What are the main qualities/skills associated with this suit?

Explain how understanding your innovation style helps define your tile withtin the team. Highlighting what you’re role is and why it’s best suited to you.

As being a Diamond suit, I will use my creative and imaginative abilities to help my team create a successful enterprise project. I will share new ideas with my team members and I will also take their ideas on board too. Another role I will be given the responsibility of will be to edit our photos in the editing software Photoshop to make our final images aesthetically pleasing for our customers.

List your duties according to your position within your team.

Explain why you are suited to your given role. What skills will you gain from this role?

I think I’m suited to the role of a creative team member because I think my creativity/imaginative mind is quite strong. From this project I would like to gain more Photoshop skills and also to expand my creativity even more, thinking outside the box more often.

Personality Poker

What is your lead suit in Personality Poker?

We played this game twice and the first time my lead suit was spades but this time it’s diamonds.

What are the main qualities and skills associated with this suit?

According to my cards last time, the main qualities of spades are that I’m analytical and data-oriented. However according to my cards this time, I’m more creative and adventurous.

Explain how understanding your innovation style helps define your role within your team. Highlighting what your role is and why it is best suited to you.

It’s important that the group has a range of different suits, for example a group full of diamonds would not work as they don’t care where they’re going, as long as they are having fun getting there. I think my role is best suited to me because I don’t like to take things so seriously all the time and I think it’s good to have a bit of fun along the way.

List your duties according to your position within your team.

I am the team manager and we are also all taking part in being a creative contributor. My duties involve making sure that the group is on track with tasks and deadlines and delegating tasks.

Explain why you are suited to your given role? What skills will you gain from this role?

I believe I’m very organised individual who can lead a group well. I am very motivational and I have a lot of creative ideas to steer my group in the right direction to make our business successful.I think doing this will help me build my resilience.

In my place of work, I take charge once a week and delegate tasks to my other coworkers.

I had to use my friendliness to make new friends at college.

In this class our group decided to print our recipe booklets and set the website as a future goal.

We have researched average prices for the ingredients for each recipe, sourcing these ingredients from shops like Aldi and Lidl that are low cost and high quality products.

We have discussed that each member will cook and photograph one of the recipes at home and ensure this is completed by February 24th so there is extra time in March to reshoot and put the booklet together.

Photograph the meal in different viewpoints using window light and a reflector or studio lights (if available). Ensure the meal is presentable and well lit, take photographs at different viewpoints. Bring this to the group for February 24th so the group can decide on the best images to use.

Our first day shooting Family Portraits in the Gorbals went well.

Shannon, had a great rapport with the families, Carol greeted them, took details and kept continuity, "Behind the scenes" shots showed Carol and Simone using those invaluable skills photographers need ... puppetry and teddybear balancing.
