You might have to click on some of them to get a better look at Hobie, sadly I don't have a video editor that allows me to make better edits than these :')
#This took so long to make lol#cause I had to edit every scene with Hobie from both versions so I could watch them right after one another to compare them#I did this with ALL the scenes he's in also the ones where he's on screen as spider-punk#but they only changed his filters in these scenes so it was a waste of time :')#sidenote: no it wasn't it's never a waste of time to look at hobie I just couldn't use it for my GIFset lol#I also made a bouns one but I'm not allowed to post more than 30 GIFs in one post apparently so I guess I just won't add it then...#but Hobie was basically filterless during all these scenes in the theatrical version#I like that they gave him more different filters in the digital version#the only change I don't like is in the first GIFs#cause like that one post pointed out it looks like they removed his lipstick for some reason#also really wish I had a better video editor so we could get a closer look at Hobie but I did my best with what I had#also slowed some of them down to get a better look at them#been having this idea for a while and now I finally finished it!#which means I can go back to working on my fics now#hopefully lol#also lemme know if there are some other scens you guys want me to make comparisons of#cause I have both versions#the theatrical release isn't the highest quality though so if you know where I can get my hands on a better version lemme know ;)#hobie brown#spider punk#miles morales#spider man#peter b parker#jess drew#miguel o'hara#spider man across the spider verse#across the spider verse#across the spiderverse#atsv#theatrical version

A friend and I were watching Little Shop of Horrors on a website frequented by sailors under a black flag but anyway we were nearing the end of the movie and Audrey was dying and I was like huh I thought she survived and my friend was also very confused like "hey this isn't how the scene is supposed to go" but I remembered reading about a second, apocalypse ending of the movie that was different from the theatrical release, which somehow we had stumbled upon by pure accident
So we both watched on in increasing distress and disbelief as Audrey II proceeded to eat Audrey, then Seymour, then be sold as a million tiny Aubrey II's that proceeded to have extended monster-movie montages of taking over various cities and landmarks and fighting the military
And at least I had some sort of knowledge this was a thing that existed but my friend just stumbled into watching the existential horror version of a beloved childhood favorite.

One thing you need to know about me is that I will for the 5000th time rewatch the 1980 Shakespeare in the Park filmed performance of The Pirates of Penzance, starring Kevin Kline, Patricia Rutledge, Linda Ronstadt, and Rex Smith and I will gif the heck out of it…

I'm watching this real cool show called Kintama tonight!
The title's a little on the dirty side, and the main character (?) seems too polished and shiny, kinda more gilded than real gold, I don't know, but it's not half-bad.

Little Metal Pinocchio
(Can be read as platonic or romantic. Go wild.)
Ortho: What’s love?
Y/N: It’s, uh, love is uh, a little more harder to explain, because of um… sit down.
Ortho: *proceeds to stand on chair and listen*
Y/N: *notices* Ah, you didn’t sit down. *gestures to chest* Love is something you feel, inside.
Ortho, copies Y/N’s gesture: Inside… Do I feel it?
Y/N: I don’t know, you’re made of metal, but maybe some is there.
Ortho: Oh. What’s that? *points to the chair he’s standing on*
Y/N: That’s a chair.
Ortho: *stumbles but Y/N catches him* What’s that? *points to Y/N’s shoe*
Y/N: That’s a shoe.
Ortho: What’s that? *points to Y/N’s mouth*
Y/N: That’s a mouth. *gently kisses Ortho on the cheek*
Ortho, flustered & excited: What’s that?
Y/N: That’s a kiss.
Ortho: Oh. *points to chair* A kiss. *points to his shoe* A mouth. *points to his mouth* A chair. I give you a shoe. *kisses Y/N on the forehead*
Y/N, flustered as well: Close enough.

You know, aside from maybe lotr, I have yet to see a movie where the 'extended edition' isn't notably worse than the regular version

one of the many interesting things about Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (1997) (the version starring Whitney Houston and Brandy) is that it incorporated songs from other r&h shows. one of these songs being "the sweetest sounds" - cinderella and prince christopher's duet in the town square. that song originates from the show no strings (1962), and was originally sung by Diahann Carroll.
With her starring role in No Strings, Diahann Carroll became the first Black American actress to win a Tony Award for Leading Actress in a Musical.
Here's Diahann Carroll performing on The Ed Sullivan Show:

Did you guys know they added extra details to Miles G Morales in the digital version?
It might not be as noticeable as the changes made to Hobie but you can still tell the difference when compared to the theatrical release
(It's most noticable in the last two GIFs) :

Steve Yockey and Richard Speight Jr and Jeremy Carver really said we see you Supernatural so true Gay Love DOES Pierce the Veil of Death and Save the Day in every version of this story (so hard the canonical reunion is uncensored and onscreen this time)

SO the idea of people orbiting each other is a fun but pretty common romance metaphor—pretty much always a metaphor, too.
But then there's Rogue One, where Gareth Edwards or whoever decided that the main characters are going to literally orbit each other as they say incredibly fraught things in low voices and lean in enough that Jyn's face is actually half shadowed by Cassian's like every metaphor about romantic gravitational pull given human form
