Vier Jahre UN-Atomwaffenverbotsvertrag

Protest in Büchel zu vier Jahren Atomwaffenverbot

📷Die Friedensnobelpreisträger von ICAN setzen sich weiter dafür ein, dass endlich auch Deutschland seine Abrüstungsversprechen wahr macht und den UN-Atomwaffenverbotsvertrag unterschreibt.

Gestern vor vier Jahren, New York, UN-Hauptsitz, 10:47 Uhr: 122 Staaten stimmen für den Vertrag zum Verbot von Atomwaffen. Ein Meilenstein: Denn die umfassende Ächtung von Atomwaffen wird damit Teil des Völkerrechts. Das ist ein Grund zum Feiern!

Doch Deutschland hat den Vertrag bislang nicht unterzeichnet. Daher protestieren wir in Büchel und fordern von der künftigen Bundesregierung ein Ende der nuklearen Teilhabe und den Beitritt Deutschlands zum Atomwaffenverbotsvertrag.

Deutschland investiert in nukleare Aufrüstung statt Abrüstung

Die Bundesregierung investiert stattdessen - wie die Atomwaffenstaaten - Unsummen in die Aufrechterhaltung der nuklearen Gefahr. Der Um- und Ausbau des Fliegerhorsts Büchel wird ca. 260 Millionen Euro verschlingen.

Hinzu kommt die geplante Stationierung von modernisierten US-Atombomben, die mit ihren neuen Fähigkeiten noch schlagkräftiger und flexibler einsetzbar sein sollen. Dafür plant das deutsche Verteidigungsministerium auch die Anschaffung von neuen Kampfjets. Der Kaufpreis der Flugzeuge könnte bei 7,5 Milliarden US-Dollar liegen.

Deshalb protestieren wir vor Ort am Militärstützpunkt in Büchel mit unseren Aktionstagen bis zum 11. Juli: Wir wollen nicht weiter Milliarden-Ausgaben für Waffen hinnehmen, die nach der Mehrheit der Bevölkerung und der Staaten abgeschafft gehört. Dafür setzen wir uns weiter ein und zählen auf Unterstützung.

Die Woche ist gefüllt mit einem bunten Programm - los ging es mit einer Fahrradsternfahrt aus umliegenden Städten mit einem gemeinsamen Zielpunkt: Das Aktionscamp am Fliegerhorst Büchel. Es folgen Konzerte, Workshops und einer Theaterperformance.

Wer noch nach Büchel kommen will, ist natürlich herzlich Willkommen! Der Protest ist aktuell wie lange nicht: Wir wollen nicht weiter Milliarden-Ausgaben für Waffen hinnehmen, die nach der Mehrheit der Bevölkerung und der Staaten abgeschafft gehört.

Yesterday I went to see the Disney on ice show in fairfax VA that my friend was performing in. I really enjoyed the show- I thought that the acts flowed well together and there were many amazing performers in it. The skaters did a good job with the theatrics of each specific role and the expressions of their characters matched how they’re portrayed in the Disney movies. The acts included segments from Moana, Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, Toy story, Frozen, little mermaid, & Aladdin.

Over the weekend I went to an improv comedy show, which I wasn’t excited about really because my head was saying “ew improv comedy” but I actually really enjoyed it!  There were two groups and they both performed really well playing games with the audience during some points of the show and others we could just sit back and enjoy the jokes.  I really enjoyed one game they played where they brought an audience member up and asked them about their day then made a nightmare out of it.  The audience member that went up was from our group so that made it even better.
