Let’s go kid.... we got work to do ⛰🌊⛰ Been reflecting the last few days on what our family experienced over the last week in Zion. We were close to cancelling our trip last minute and almost didn’t go.... There was a lot of tension leading up to the day we left and felt like maybe it wasn’t a good idea to go. Fast forward to our last day in Zion when we hiked The Narrows trail. We almost didn’t take this hike as well. We had no idea how deep the water would be, if we had the clothing for the weather, and if our 9 year old son would be able to make the hike. It was messy planning and we kinda just threw our hands up last minute and went. Just like our entire trip kinda felt. I’ve noticed patterns like this throughout life and business as well where tension and pressure are often indicators of fruit right around the corner. This hike was one of the coolest things we’ve done as a family and if we turned back early, we would have never made it to this photo right here. This was a fork right before the super narrow walls that were unlike anything I’ve ever seen. These caverns were created by a small little river over millions of years of erosion. The power of focused consistency and persistence. We were 30 min away from this point and ALMOST turned back when I asked someone hiking back if there was anything ahead worth seeing. At this point of our hike, things started looking the same and it was getting late. She said, you made it this far and you should check out this real narrowe part about 30 min more ahead. Even though it was starting to get cold, we decided to press on. If I never asked that person that had already gone ahead of us, we would have probably turned around and missed one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen! Like this person we talked to walking back from the hike, there are people and resources that can help us along our life trails. Mentors are crucial for efficient and effective living. How much time we waste by not asking questions because of our pride or laziness? How often have we turned around right before we striking gold?
