No one ever honestly talks about the cruel heartbreak love creates. It’s portrayed as this life-altering, amazing feeling, but for Y/N, that could not have been further from the truth. Everyday since the fateful morning she realized she was in love with him, all that love brought to her was agonizing pain.

She would never let it show, of course. That would ruin the image. The image of her being Finnick Odair’s best friend.

Friend.

How that word vexes her very being. In the beginning, she truly thought it was some silly school girl crush she developed on the Prince of Panem. Something that she would easily get over. Unfortunately for her, that was not the case.

With each passing day, her feelings for him grew. And it only worsened with the silly side glances, the inside jokes, the way he would always know when something was wrong by the simplest quirk of her lip. Or even the way he would pull her aside for a dance as a way to cheer her up, to celebrate, or even just to cure a simple bored spell. He knew Y/N better than she knew herself, and she knew him.

That’s why she’s kept every single feeling besides friendship bottled up within herself. Because she knew he would never be hers.

Tears brim at the corner of her eyes as she watches Annie Cresta walk down the aisle to the altar where her future husband awaits. Where Finnick awaits.

President Coin was kind enough in all her strict glory to permit Annie and Finnick’s wedding as a way to show the people in District Thirteen thriving. When Y/N had heard, she could physically feel her heart falling out of her chest. It only shattered further when he asked her to stand beside him as his Best Woman.

And how could she ever say no to him?

That’s why she’s here now, choking back the sob that threatens to escape her lips as Finnick stares at Annie in the way Y/N has always desired. Perhaps if she had been honest about her feelings. Only she knows the amount of opportunities she could have told him. They’re countless, but she could never seem to decide when the perfect moment would be.

But that’s her fault for thinking that there never would be that special moment. If only her naive mind would have known at that time that the thing that makes moments special is the people, then maybe she would have found a way to tell him.

However, as she watches one singular tear fall from his eyes as Annie says her vows, she realizes that there’s no use of dwelling on the past. This is happening. She missed her chance and Finnick found his happy ending with someone else. Someone better. Who would never wait to tell him how now she loves him. Who wouldn’t hesitate in confessing her true feelings because that’s what he deserves. A life full of love.

Y/N is happy for him. She always will be. All she has ever wanted was for Finnick to have a future with someone that he cherishes and who admires him just as much… even if it’s not her.

But despite her joy for him, she can’t help but look away as the officiant pronounces them husband and wife. The way Finnick plants his lips on hers, with an undying flame of passion, it makes Y/N’s stomach twist and turn in ways that would send anyone to the infirmary.

When she finally finds the courage to look back, she notices him already staring at her. The bright smile on his face drops slightly when he analyzes her expression. He knows her fake smile anywhere. It’s accompanied by yet to be shed tears and a crease between her eyebrows. He’s mastered the art of reading the closed off book that is Y/N L/N.

He wants to reach out to her, pull her into his arms and ask what terrible thing could be plaguing her thoughts. But the feel of his newly wedded wife pulling on his arm distracts him. Annie pulls him down the aisle of cheering people as they clap and cheer for them. It’s not like they’re going far, just over to the clear area where the reception is. But his eyes never leave Y/N’s form as he’s rushed away. He watches as Johanna and Katniss walk up to his best friend before Y/N quickly brushes them off, walking in the opposite direction.

There’s something very wrong.

It’s only confirmed when five songs have already passed and Y/N still hasn’t shown up. He and Annie have been mingling as much as she’s comfortable with, dancing, and talking quietly to their close friends. His eyes constantly search the floor in hopes of seeing her. He doesn’t even realize how checked out he’s been until Johanna walks up to him, a glass of water in her hands since no one feels morally ambiguous enough to give her champagne.

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were trying to escape your own wedding,” she chimes sarcastically, sipping from her glass as she pretends there’s some kind of alcohol in it.

“What?” Finnick glances at her, his eyebrows furrowed. Annie is off talking to Haymitch and Beetee, two of the very few people she’s comfortable with. Hence why Finnick is now standing on his own at Johanna Mason’s mercy.

“Don’t try to play dumb, Odair,” she scoffs. “I’ve been watching you all night. You look like you’re trying to find a way to bust out of here without being caught. Constantly looking around, kind of shady if you ask me.” Her scrawny finger points over to Annie who has a happy smile on her face, “Especially when your betrothed is over there.”

“I’m not trying to find a way to bust out of here,” he shrugs off her accusation. “Just… keeping my head on a swivel is all.”

“Yeah, right.” Johanna nods mockingly. “You sure it’s not because you’re looking for a certain (h/c) haired girl with big (e/c) eyes who hasn’t been seen since you tied the knot?”

Finnick tenses, the muscle in his jaw ticking as he looks away from Johanna. She doesn’t need much more of a reaction to know she’s right. An obnoxious chuckle leaves her lips, “I knew it.” She shakes her head, “You’re unbelievable you know that? Both of you are, actually. I mean, the fact she ran off in the first place, and you’ve spent more than half of your wedding night looking for her… it’s pathetic, really.”

Finnick pauses as he takes in her words. Ran off sticks out in his mind because it implicates she’s choosing not to be here. “Do you know why she hasn’t showed up?” He asks quietly, a part of him pained that he hasn’t gotten to share a dance with her.

Johanna has never wanted to smack someone more. But instead of giving into her physical impulses, she settles for a verbal one instead. “Why don’t you go ask her yourself?” She quirks an eyebrow. “She went back up to her room, said she was feeling sick. Probably cooped up with one of the books she’s already read a million times.”

He feels himself become internally torn. His wife, the woman he just swore to love for the rest of his life, through sickness and in health is standing just a mere few feet away. He could forget all about this conversation and enjoy his night with his wife. He could dance his worries away and live one night in joy before this rebellion really hits the ground running.

But the tug on his heart is pulling him in the exact opposite direction.

And that’s how he ends up running through the emptied out corridors of District Thirteen, most of the residents downstairs at the party. His footsteps echo loudly in the silence, a hand running through his already messy hair. His once out together tie is now completely undone, the black cloth just dangling loosely around his neck. He feels his breath hitch when he reaches Y/N’s door. He raises a fist up to knock, but hesitates. What if she doesn’t want to see him? Or slams the door in his face once she sees it’s him. He doesn’t quite understand what he did to make her leave his wedding, but he can’t bear the thought of the woman he’s become so dependent on these last few years being mad at him.

Knock, knock.

Y/N brings her head out from in between her knees. Her eyes are red and puffy, the tears she shed long since dried. Her eyebrows furrow, not knowing who would be knocking at her door. She was positive that no one saw her leave besides Johanna and Katniss. A small part of her hopes it’s just a soldier doing rounds, checking in on residents, but something inside of her tells her it can’t be that simple.

She stands up from her rickety bed, her Best Woman dress now a wrinkled mess. She cringes at her appearance, not having seen the whole thing, but she knows she must look like a total wreck. She runs a hand over her face in hopes of making the swelling go down.

Y/N opens the door just a crack so no one could see the disaster she’s made herself. Her eyes widen when she sees a disheveled Finnick Odair standing on the other side. Alarm bells go off in her head, her cheeks flushing from pure embarrassment. The very person she’s been breaking down over for the past hour is standing outside her door.

“Can I come in?”

Her lips part slightly, looking more and more like a warm invitation than Finnick would like to admit. He gazes at her face and immediately knows she’s just got done crying. Her cheeks are puffy, eyes bloodshot, lips are a bright pink, and yet she still looks absolutely beautiful.

Y/N doesn’t realize how long they’ve been standing like that before answering. She blinks slowly, still processing his presence, “Yeah…” She winces at the weak sound of her voice. It’s rubbed completely raw, cracking at just one simple word.

She steps to the side, allowing Finnick to walk into her sanctuary. He nervously runs a hand through his blonde waves again as she closes the door behind them with a sniffle. He takes in her full appearance, noting she hadn’t even taken off her dress. Her bedsheets are in complete disarray, showing it must have been an emotional hour for her.

“What are you doing here, Finnick?” She manages to croak out, folding her arms over her chest. Not in a defensive manner, but almost as a way of protecting herself. Protecting herself from him. It makes his heart ache at the thought.

His mouth runs dry as he tries to find the right words. His tongue darts out over his lips in an attempt to come up with something, anything. “Um, I… I saw you leave earlier,” he admits breathily, the slight dent in his cheek from his dimple still there. How she loves his dimples. “I knew there was something wrong. You had your crying eyes, and not the fake ones you used in the Capitol, or the ones you would use to manipulate someone, but your real ones.” Her breath hitches as he takes a step towards her, concern the only expression on his face. “The ones that have only been reserved for me,” the last sentence comes out as a whisper. He towers over her, neck craning downwards just so he can look at her face. Not that she’s making any effort to make eye contact. In fact, she’s making it a point to stare anywhere else but at him.

He places his finger under her chin to force her to look at him, but she flinches. A part of him dies inside at the sight of her deliberately trying to get away from him. Like he had hurt her in some unimaginable way. He couldn’t. He could never hurt her.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she mumbles, tears brimming at her waterline once more as she takes a step back from him. Y/N curses herself in her mind for letting her vulnerability show. She’s never been a crier, and what makes it worse is that he’s right. He’s the only one who’s ever seen her real cry.

Finnick’s face falls, his own eyes glossing over. He takes another small step forward. He reaches out, lightly grabbing her hand. He can see she wants to pull away, but he silently pleads with her not to pull away. And once again, how could she say no to him?

So she lets him take her palms in his. “Yes, you do,” he insists. “Y/N, I know you. I know when you’re sad, angry, happy, passionate,” he lists off. “I don’t know what I did to make you so upset, but please talk to me.” Y/N squeezes her eyes shut tightly as the tears begin to fall again. He thinks it’s his fault that she’s like this. He sounds so desperate, so broken. “I’ve been waiting all night to see you, to dance with you, to just be with you–”

“Stop,” her voice cracks as a son wracks her body. “Please, stop,” she begs him.

Finnick’s entire world stops spinning as he realizes something. She’s not crying to him. She’s crying because of him. A surge of panic rises in his chest, confusion taking over his body. “Stop what?” He asks quietly, his shoulder visibly deflating.

“You can’t say things like that,” she whimpers softly, shaking her head. “You can’t do that.”

“Do what?” He asks her desperately, not understanding what’s going on. He tries to wrap his head around what she could mean. “Y/N, tell me what’s going on, please,” he pleads. “I just want to help you. I want to make you happy.”

“You can’t!” She finally exclaims, the floodgates opening as she pulls away from him. Her hands are clenched tightly into fists as she internally beats herself up. “You can’t help me. You shouldn't be here. You shouldn’t be telling me that you’ve been looking for me all night when your wife is downstairs. You shouldn’t be wanting to dance with me or to just be with me. And you shouldn’t be wanting to make me happy,” she rants out breathlessly.

Finnick’s at a loss for words, “Y/N, I–”

“No, Finnick!” She stops him, moving past him as she begins gathering all the stuff he’s given to her over the years from her bedside table. She’s kept every single little seashell he’s brought to her from the beaches of District Four, every little pebble, bracelet, photo, drawing, all of it. They’re some of her most prized possessions. But she can’t keep them anymore. Not when they simply serve as a reminder of her failed attempt at love. “You can’t do this. I can’t do this,” she sobs, putting all of the keepsakes in a small box before walking over to him and shoving them into his chest.

“You need to leave,” she commands. “Now.”

Finnick looks down at the box, every memory they’ve shared together playing in his head. He remembers everything in this box. Every reason why he picked a certain shell, why he thought a certain drawing reminded him of her, even the matching bracelet he still wears to this day. If only she knew it was hidden delicately under the cuff link of his suit.

“You need to go back downstairs,” Y/N continues. “Go enjoy your party. It’s your wedding night. Go be with your wife and the people who are there for the right reasons. Go be with Annie and just leave me alone, please.” She begs desperately. “Live your life with her and just please leave me out of it.”

His eyes snap upward, “What?”

“Leave me out of your life,” she repeats as if it was nothing. Like it wasn’t a serrated knife she just plunged deeply into his chest.

“What the hell do you mean ‘leave you out of my life?’” Finnick raises his voice. It’s not in an angry way, but in an emotional one. He’s normally levelheaded, but hearing that makes it feel like his entire heart is being torn to shreds. “What does that even mean Y/N?”

“It means I can’t keep doing this, Finnick!” She responds with just as much vulnerability. “I can’t live the rest of my life watching you be happy with her. I can’t do it!”

“You can’t watch me be happy?” He scoffs. “Really?” He deliberately walks forward, the box still in his hands, knuckles turning white from how hard he’s gripping it.

Y/N looks for an escape route, but it seems he’s managed to trap her between her bedside table, the wall, and her bed. The only way out would be to jump over one of the furniture pieces and there is no way she can do that in this dress.

“I–I– that’s–” she groans loudly, trying to keep herself from screaming out of pure frustration. “That’s not what I meant!”

“Then what do you mean?!” He shouts, practically tossing the box onto her table with a loud thud. “Because I don’t understand! You’re not making any sense. You’re running away from my wedding, giving me back all the things that make me think of you, and now telling me you don’t want to be a part of my life anymore?” He shakes his head exasperatedly. “I don’t know what’s going on with you Y/N, but you need to tell me.”

“I want you to be happy, Finnick!” She screams. “I do, okay? I really do! But I can’t keep pretending that it doesn’t kill me inside whenever I see you two together,” she cries and all he wants to do is pull her in his arms and tell her it’s all going to be okay. “I’ve tried for so long to swallow my selfishness, but it’s becoming too hard. But I can’t ruin your wedding. I can’t stand the thought of getting in the way of your happiness, so the only way we both can move on from this unscathed is if I remove myself from your life,” she explains, wiping the snot from underneath her nose. “It’ll be better that way.”

“No offense, but that is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever heard you say,” he snaps, his face turning red. Y/N’s eyebrows shoot up into her hairline out of shock. “How dense do you have to be to think that my life will be better without you in it?” He lets out a laugh but there is absolutely no humor behind it. “Y/N I would be an absolute mess if I didn’t have you around. The only way you would be standing in the way of my happiness is if you left me.”

“Finnick…” her bottom lip quivers as she shakes her head. “I just can’t anymore. It’s too hard. You’ll get over missing me eventually. You’ll have Annie to help you.”

“I don’t want you out of my life!” Finnick practically rips his own hair out. How is she not understanding how much she means to him? “What do you not get about the fact that I would fall apart without you, huh?!” He has to pull back slightly to try and calm himself. “I don’t want to get over missing you. I want to have you. I want to be able to see you, to hug you, to tell you about my day, to go to you for anything and everything.”

“That’s why you have Annie!” Y/N points towards the door, not caring if any people passing by hear them.

“I DON’T WANT ANNIE!”

Just like that it’s like all the air has been sucked out of the room. Finnick’s chest heaves up and down with every heavy breath he takes. Y/N’s brain buffers as she tries to register what he just confessed. It doesn’t even look like he realizes what he said. He exhales shakily, “I– I don’t… I don’t want her,” he says almost like it’s a realization.

“Finn…” Y/N says sympathetically, “You don’t know what you’re saying.” She tries to find a logical explanation. “You’re upset and–”

“Yeah, yeah, I am,” he scoffs with a definite nod. “But that doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m saying.” He moves in closer to the point where Y/N can feel his breath fanning her face. Her mind is screaming at her to move away, but the rest of her forces her to remain in her place. In fact, her face draws nearer, getting lost in his seafoam eyes. “She’s not you, Y/N…”

Y/N nods slowly, “You’re right, she’s not.” Her throat bobs notably as she swallows. “But she is your wife,” she reminds him, her voice becoming softer as he continues leaning in. “Your wife who is patiently waiting for you to go back to her. To your wedding reception.”

“I’m busy,” he justifies like Annie is nothing but an afterthought. “I have more important things to take care of right now…”

“I don’t need to be taken care of,” she says against his lips.

He reaches up, gently caressing her cheek with his thumb as he wipes away her tears. “When will you realize Y/N/N? I’m always gonna feel the need to take care of you.”

“You shouldn’t,” she counters. “You can’t feel that way about me… Not when she’s waiting downstairs for you.”

“Do you always have to be this stubborn?” His eyes bore into hers, making a shiver run down her spine. His voice is dangerously low, it manages to scare and excite her at the same time. “Don’t you think I would be with Annie right now if that was my priority?”

Y/N can feel the air between them sizzling. If anyone were to walk in they’d be found in a very compromising position. Y/N tries to force herself to think of Annie, to think of how she would feel finding her husband here with his best friend like this. But the way Finnick’s scent fills her nose completely clouds her judgement. Or her will to care about anything else other than how badly she wants to completely close the distance between them.

“Finnick, you can’t throw away what you’ve built with her this soon,” Y/N still tries to maintain the moral high ground. “I’ve watched the way you look at her for years. She’s your entire world,” her eyes fall to the floor as she recalls the painful memories.

“Is that the truth? Or is that what you’ve convinced yourself so that you didn’t have to tell me what you actually felt?”

Y/N’s heart stutters in her chest, her pulse quickening as the walls she’s built around herself begin to crack. He can’t be serious, can he? She can’t—she won’t—let herself believe it. But the way he’s looking at her, the way his words settle in the space between them… it’s undeniable.

"Finnick, you’re married," she protests weakly, though it sounds more like a plea than an argument. “I can’t—”

“I’ve been waiting for you,” he interrupts, his voice steady and firm. “Waiting for you to admit that you feel the same way. I know you do.”

Y/N feels the air between them thicken. Her thoughts race, but they can’t keep up with what’s happening right in front of her. Finnick, this man she’s loved for so long, is standing here, his eyes filled with something she can’t quite name—but it’s the same thing that’s always been there.

“I’ve waited for you to tell me you love me,” he adds, his voice rougher now, the teasing tone fading into something deeper, more intense. “I’ve been waiting for you to say it.”

Y/N’s stomach twists. She wants to run. She wants to tell him how wrong this is, how much she’s tried to bury her feelings for him because she knows she can’t have him. But as she looks up at him, she sees it—the same longing she’s felt, the same unspoken desire. And it’s too much. Too strong.

"I..." She doesn’t know what to say. How to explain the years of silence, of holding back. She swallows hard, struggling to find the right words.

“Say it,” his eyes darken as he commands her to do as he asks, yet there’s still a sense of pleading. Like he’s begging to hear it. “Enough excuses. There is no right time. I wanna hear you say it.”

“Finnick–” She tries to protest.

“Don’t make me force it out of you,” he says with a bit of playfulness. She knows he would never do anything to force her, but with the mischievous glint in his eyes, she’s not sure what his plan would be.

She opens her mouth, but no words come out. The room feels impossibly small, the space between them closing in with every breath. Finnick watches her, his dazzling smile never fading, but there’s something else in his gaze now—something raw and primal.

“You know, I could be wrong,” he says, his voice soft, as if coaxing her, trying to break that last string of restraint she’s holding onto. “Maybe you don’t feel that way. Maybe I’m just... imagining things.”

Y/N looks at him, her chest tightening as she fights the truth she’s kept hidden for so long. “You know you’re not imagining things…," she says, almost choking on the words. “But this is wrong, Finn. We can’t just—”

“I don’t care,” he interrupts, his voice fierce, his hands gripping her hips as he pulls her closer. “I’ve been waiting for you, Y/N. You think I don’t care about Annie? Of course I do. But I told you, she’s never going to be you.” He leans in, his breath hot against her lips. “I’m not asking you to fix this for me. I just need you to admit what we both already know.”

Her pulse is racing, her head spinning. She’s so close to losing herself, to giving in to everything she’s been holding back. And then something magical happens, “I… I love you,” if Finnick wasn’t so close to her lips, he never would’ve heard the sacred sentence he’s been longing for. Her words echo in his mind like a mantra he wants to keep on repeat for the rest of his life. It pushes him closer to the precipice and when she opens her mouth to say something, Finnick stops her, his lips crashing down on hers before she can get a single syllable out.

It’s not gentle. It’s raw and desperate, a release of everything they’ve both been holding inside. Y/N’s hands fist in the fabric of his shirt as she kisses him back, all the years of unspoken feelings flooding to the surface. She doesn’t care about the guilt anymore. Doesn’t care about what’s right or wrong. She only cares about the way his mouth moves against hers, the way his touch makes her feel like she’s finally home.

When they pull apart, breathless, both of them are lost in the realization of what just happened. Y/N’s head is spinning, her heart racing in her chest, but Finnick doesn’t let go. He’s looking at her with a softness she’s never seen before.

“I’ve been waiting for you to say that,” he whispers, his forehead resting against hers. “I’ve been waiting for you to admit it. I just... I just needed to hear you say it.”

“I... Oh my gosh,” her mind floods with guilt once again. “What did we just do?” She goes to hide her face but Finnick’s grip on her arms stops her. “We can’t do this,” Y/N admits, her voice barely a whisper. “You’re married, Finnick. I can’t—”

“Don’t. Care,” he repeats, his hands sliding to the bottom of her thighs as he wraps her legs around his waist. He can’t help but smirk cockily as she doesn’t fight it. It’s finally his time to show her what they’ve been missing playing this little game of cat and mouse. “I don’t care about that right now. All I care about is this.” His lips find hers again, more gentle this time, as if they’re both trying to savor this moment, this long-awaited release.

The kiss deepens, slow and steady, as if the weight of everything they’ve both been holding in is finally being released. It’s messy and complicated and full of years of longing.

And then, with a soft moan, Finnick pulls away just enough to catch his breath. “I’ve wanted to show you how much I love you for so long” he murmurs, his voice hoarse. Without waiting for an answer, he scoops her up, carrying her to the bed.

Y/N’s heart is still pounding, the reality of the moment not quite sinking in yet. She’s still processing everything—his kiss, his words, the weight of what they’ve just done. But none of it matters right now. Not when he’s here, with her.

He lays her down gently, his hands caressing her face as he looks down at her, eyes filled with an emotion that almost feels too much for this moment. “You’re my everything,” he whispers, his voice breaking with the weight of his admission.

She reaches up, cupping his face with her hands, her fingers tracing the lines of his jaw. “And you’re mine.”

And with that, they kiss again—more tender this time, but no less intense. The world outside doesn’t exist anymore. There’s only the two of them, finally letting go of everything that’s held them apart.

The night stretches on as they lose themselves in each other, every touch, every kiss, a promise that no matter what happens next, they’ve finally found what they were both waiting for.

The Booster-Beetle family (aka the people associated with Blue Beetle and Booster Gold).

If the names are bolded and italicised then the person is also kind of apart of the family as well!

Booster Gold - Micheal John Carter the (bestBoi)

Information about him :

He is from the 25th Century, which is the same as the Reverse Flash. He lived in Gotham city at that time with his mother and twin sister.

His father, Jon Carter had a gambling problem which caused him to leave his family before his kids turned 4. Later on he joined the time stealers and became the villain, Supernova.

Worked alongside Dirk Davis and Trixie Collins during his Goldstar INC days.

Was/Is in the JLI (through Maxwell Lords help) and the JLA. Also joined the Conglomerate which was run by Max Lords ex wife.

In the JLI, Booster met his best friend, Ted Kord aka Blue Beetle, and they became the infamous "Blue and Gold" duo.

A glory seeker and when he was younger, he sought after money from his role as a superhero, often doing sponsorships and cereal ads.

He stole his suit from the Museum he worked at, his flight ring was from the legion of superheroes.

The time sphere he stole from the museum to go back in time was made by Rip Hunter.

He has an indestructible forcefield around himself which managed to survive a punch against Doomsday. He also managed to throw some punches against Doomsday, before Superman stepped in.

He faked his own death, along with the help of Rip Hunter and reappeared as Supernova.

Once went evil and became black beetle.

He tried to save Teds life many times by going back in time. In the injustice universe, he was sent to a time prison for the amount of times he tried to save his life. He was always quite unsuccessful.

The younger twin sister of Micheal Carter.

Followed Michael along when he went to the past with her own suit and technology which is nearly identical to Boosters.

Rani adores her.

She was supposed to have died when she first came to the past, but Rip Hunter managed to stop that from happening. She spent some time unaware of the deeper implications of her return until it is forcefully revealed to her by Rex Hunter. This left her traumatised and obsessing over her death which caused her to escape into the timestream. Booster managed to coerce her into coming back to the present.

Daniel Garrett - Blue Beetle I

Information about him:

He was the first Blue Beetle as well as: an Archaeologist and the Professor of Ted Kord.

He found the Scarab in Egypt, which was alien technology used by the Reach to take over planets.

He joined the Mystery Men during 1930s-1940s. After the Vietnam War, he teamed up with Christopher Smith.

Was killed by Jarvis Kord, Teds uncle, on his island.

Was apart of Charltons Comics along with Judomaster, Ted Kord, Tiger and the Question before getting merged into DC's continuity. Now considered to be a Silver age character.

Has a granddaughter named Danielle.

Left his mantle and his scarab to Ted.

Headcanons:

Acted as a father figure to Ted.

Tried to make Ted babysit Sparky when he had to go on long missions with the Mystery men.

Would be a fan of Night in the museum.

Would get along with Alan Scott if they properly met.

Sparkington J Northrup - Sparky / Spunk

Information about him:

The sidekick of Dan.

He is British, and was adopted by Lord Wellington Northrup who fled to America during WW2.

Fox Comics created him to save their company and (copy other successful sidekick characters like Robin and Bucky Barns) to appeal to a younger demographic.

Mostly seen with Blue Beetle, helping out and battling villains during WW2.

Appeared again in the recent comic, Stargirl: The lost children, where he was stuck on an island with other forgotten sidekicks of popular heroes and was rescued by Red Arrow and Stargirl.

Headcanons:

A big fanboy of Robin and the Teen titans, but definitely Robin in particular.

Tried to come up with his own catchphrase, similar to that of the "holy ___, Batman!". Dan did not find this amusing in the slightest.

Carries around a joke book to read to Ted or Dan. Made occasional bug jokes.

Tries to disguise his British accent.

Would hate Tracy Beaker.

Theodore Steven Kord - Blue Beetle II

Information about him:

The second Blue Beetle after Dan, and picked up the mantle because he felt guilty that his uncle had killed Dan, and because Dan had asked him to carry on his legacy.

Despite the Scarab not working for him, Ted managed to train himself (he has good acrobatic skills), and with his intelligence and excellent engineering skills he built himself lots of gadgets and even a ship named Bug!

He had no real direction for himself.

His father had left him Kord Omniversal when he had passed, and he did manage to revitalise the company so that its R&D managed to rival STAR Labs, but with all the work in the JLA as Blue Beetle, he did occasionally get the company bankrupt.

Was apart of JLI where he met Booster, and the two managed to get each other in a lot of trouble, but still remained close friends.

Known for his odd sense of humour and his mouth getting himself into trouble with other members.

Retired from super-heroics and helped out the Birds of Prey and Barbara Gordon, with the two of them becoming close online friends.

He has a new (kind of) sister named Victoria Kord, who is the enemy of Jaime Reyes, and she is jealous of Ted inheriting the company instead of her.

Was killed by his old friend and manager Max Lord.

He does suffer from a heart condition, which caused him to retire.

Headcanons:

Tries to make Booster stay over at his place as much as possible, so that he would stop disappearing to the Time Lab, without telling him.

Tried to build a prank-popcorn machine for the JLI to make multi-coloured popcorn that would pop everywhere, but Batman was the first to use it.

Orders Chocos to Martian Manhunter when he is bored.

Always references Booster.

Tries to hack the Batcomputer, did it but no one believes him.

Always references the "ONE PUNCH, JUST ONE PUNCH" but the younger generation of heroes thinks he is talking about Saitama.

Jaime Reyes - Blue Beetle III

Information about him:

The third and current Blue Beetle.

Mexican-american, where he lives in El Paso, Texas.

Wanted to become a dentist, as told by Eclipso.

Has a younger sister called Milagro Reyes who is aware of his brothers status as a hero. She is a boostle shipper.

He got the scarab during Infinite crisis, when Ted lost the scarab during a visit to the Rock of Eternity. The Rock was destroyed during a battle between Shazam and the Spectre. The scarab landed in Texas where Jaime discovered it alongside his friends Paco and Brenda.

His scarab was called Khaji-da and was able to communicate with Jaime unlike really with Dan, when it connected to his spine.

Booster sought him out and fought with him, distraught that there was a new Blue Beetle. However, they reconciled and he acted as a mentor figure to him.

Guy Gardner also confronts him and talks to him about Ted and his legacy.

Jaime met with Danielle to discuss more about the Scarab.

He encounters the Reach and had to fight them.

Is in a romantic relationship with Traci Thirteen.

In young justice, he and Impulse were seen to be close friends.

He was apart of the JLA and currently is apart of the Teen Titans.

Headcanons:

Sometimes speaks in spanish when he gets nervous, angry or by accident.

Would argue with Khaji-da in public or speak to him in public, to the confusion of everyone else.

Comes up with rebuttals to arguments way after they happen.

Lilly - Gold beetle

Information about her:

Is a time traveller and works alongside Wally West and Impulse.

Her ship, called the Gold Bug, is powered by a Worlogog which allows it to travel through time and become smaller.

Operates on planet flash.

Has a good sense of humour.

Knowledgeable about time travelling.

Comes from a long line of Booster-Beetle time travellers.

Is in a relationship with Jai west, Wally's son.

Seen to use future slang.

Her past is unknown.

Head canons:

Sings future songs and references future events or media in order to get on people's nerves.

Goes to visit Rani Carter, they would be friends.

Goes back in time to stop herself from doing embarrassing things.

ALRIGHT since at least 6 of yall wanted it here it is- my Adachi Channel concept 🎉 (ft. a quick comic of how their intro dialogue would go)

Boy where to start- there’s quite a lot under here so beware

Ok so- my first thought was “ if Adachi had a channel, what would his dark secret be” and I thought it would be that he secretly loves the Dojima family and wants so bad to be officially part of that (the adajima shipper in me saying he would love to get with Dojima and sort of become an official dad figure to Nanako) and so scared of them leaving him

I think in game, it’s shown Adachi actually cared for Nanako a lot, as he was always looking out for her and felt remorseful that she got hurt because of his actions and he even says in his letter at the end that he valued his times with the Dojimas

But it’s also largely based off of the Persona 4 Golden anime, where there’s a little section that expands upon Adachis background and his relationships with the Dojima’s. Specifically, that one part where Dojima, Nanako and Adachi are all holding hands before Nanako runs off to greet Yu and then it cuts to those three walking while Adachi stands dejected behind.

Anyways- within this background it’s shown that Adachi has pushed away every opportunity to connect with his peers in any way, no matter how much he wanted to, because he wanted to focus on his studies. And it ended up being all for not anyways because he never won any awards or got any serious recognition for his efforts and was instead relocated to Inaba (middle of nowhere town as someone says).

So here Adachi is- no serious friendships or relationships, who just moved to a town where there isn’t much to do anyways, who meets Dojima and his daughter who end up being his first genuine friends/companionship in YEARS.

Despite Adachis whole thing about thinking relationships are stupid and restricting, I think he finds himself caring about these two, and having them care for him, in a way he’s never experienced before. OF COURSE he going to latch onto that, and is going to be terrified to lose it when Yu- someone who’s ACTUALLY blood related to the family and not some sad coworker who tags along cause he got no friends- swoops in out of nowhere and starts taking their attention and affections.

So how does that relate to 1950s American housewives- well, again, if Adachi whole thing is wanting to stay together and wanting to keep their affections- and Yu who’s a part of the family is taking priority over him- best course of action would be to place himself into the family. Becoming a wife type to Dojima and a mother to Nanako.

Now not sure if Japan had a similar era, but I know the 50’s were alllllll about appearances and LOOKING like a perfect family; the woman stayed at home and were perfect wives and mothers who did all the cooking and cleaning while the men did all the work. I think that’s also why the “killer housewife” trope came around, cause they snap under being so much pressure. This not only fits into Adachi mask of being a dumb detective when he’s actually a villain but also how he views his relationship with each of them.

Adachi is an assistant for Dojima, and we see in game how mistreated he is: getting coffee and beaten around. Unfortunately, I feel like that’s very similar to how woman in the 50s were often treated by their spouses- as assistants rather then wives. Obviously, as I’ve said, he’s taken on a motherly role towards Nanako- being concerned over Dojimas lack of parenting towards her and trying to look after her himself.

And since Palaces often take these sentiments to the extreme- I thought Shadow!Adachi would think himself as a replacement of the dead mother, (I forgot her name 💀) saying he can take her place and give them everything they need.

OK SO HOW WOULD THIS FIT STORY WISE IN THE GAME? So people show up on tv if they’ve caught the eyes of the public right? And Nanako got on cause of an interview so I would think Adachis rise of interest in the public would be the similar. At the very least, when the tv covers the two murders, Adachi would do some stupid thing that would accidentally be caught on camera and everyone would wonder who that bumbling idiot was. In my eyes, I think this happens after everyone had joined (so after Naoto) but before any of the endgame stuff with the red herring and Nanako and stuff. So perhaps the news does a follow-up on the lead detectives on the Telephone Pole murders since there’s not been anything new happening and they want to know if it’s passed or if they still have to keep working, and eventually Adachi comes along and like- idk spills coffee on the reporter or something, and since it’s live- the everyone figures out Adachis name after Dojima barks it at him to get his act together.

Boom he’s on the tv, boom the guy chloroforms him and throws him in the tv, boom Adachis like aw fuck.

I don’t understand how Adachi got his persona in the first place? I looked it up and it said it was cause he was so fucking lonely and because he had no relationships he developed a persona. Ok???? Didn’t know that was an option??? But in this universe- Adachi doesn’t have his persona and instead awakens it after confronting his truth like every other person, because thems the rules, instead of just developing one because you’re chronically lonely. (If we REALLLY wanted to it could be like a Akechi situation where he has two- but eh )

(Oh also- I’d imaging his channel introduction scene thing would be like, sitcom esc? Like a- ha ha come see how quirky my family is or something? Like I Love Lucy or any of those old American sitcoms)

So anyways he’d be like “fuck, welp this can’t be too hard to survive, I just have to keep being in heavy denial like I always have-“ and tries to keep up the stupid act, especially when the Team rolls in, but then the Shadow gets to him by implying he has a meaningful relationship with the Dojimas (aka he NEEDS them cause he prolly would have offed himself months ago from boredom and/or lack of friends ) which pisses him off and triggers the fight.

(This could be some slight foreshadowing the Adachi is not what he seems as his masks slips and as his Shadow occasionally spits out some of his ideology and stuff)

Boom, fight ends when Adachi confronts that yes, maybe he does have a meaningfully relationship with the Dojimas. He’ll then be like, well obviously I can’t join your team, I’m part of the actual detective team, but maybe I can share insider info with you guys- while he secretly gets the first hand scoop of the Teams plans.

Obviously this does not undo what has been done, and with everything rolling to its natural conclusion there’s nothing Adachi can do to stop what has been started. He’ll keep doing what he’s doing tho, It’ll be even more tragic when he realizes he’s put both Nanako and Dojima in serious danger and make him spiral more into denial towards the end. Saying how those relationships don’t actually help him with anything, that they cause him more pain more suffering then when he had no one to care for but himself, that’s he’s still in a shitty place in the world etc etc.

Bam- after he’s defeated and the God is defeated it’ll smooth his transition into slowly accepting that friendships do help, and his connection with Dojima and Nanako stay strong after everything is proof of that

Ok I’m kind of just writing shit now- it is very late and I wrote a lot so if it doesn’t make sense, oof, but I how you get what I mean cause this concept fits like perfectly in all aspects into Adachis character 👍

This show gets a little crazy, but the acting is top tier, and the ensemble cast is one of my favorites ever. (Also, the OST is my new most beloved.)

Thoughts on Season 1 of Suits:Japan

I finished the first season of the Japanese adaptation of Suits (conveniently titled スーツ which is just a transliteration) I was actually really surprised by how faithful it tried to be, to the point where whole chunks of dialogue are taken from the original and even certain stylistic elements of the sets are copied.

But Japanese society is both more conservative and much more patriarchal than American society, not to mention Japan is a completely different country with different laws and different institutional structures. It would be impossible for them to translate the American series without any changes. Most of the storylines wouldn't make sense set in Japan exactly like they are in the original. It was interesting to see what they changed and what they kept.

(I'll be referring to the characters by their original names to keep it from being confusing but, yes, all the characters actually have Japanese names)

They made a lot of little changes to make Mike more palatable to a Japanese audience. He no longer smokes pot so all the drug-related storylines were either adjusted to make Mike unaware of the drug element, or changed to alcohol instead. Jenny is not Trevor's girlfriend in this version, she's his little sister. When Trevor betrays Mike to Jessica, it's not because he caught Mike sleeping with his girlfriend but because Mike has broken his little sister's heart by liking someone else. Since Mike never sees her as more than a little sister, the love triangle between Mike-Jenny-Rachel is maintained but does not complicate Mike's "nice guy" image. Instead of Mike flipping between his affection and attraction to both girls, Jenny essentially casts herself as Mike's pseudo-housewife--cooking him dinner when he comes home and checking in on Grammy--and Mike just accepts this without reciprocating any romantic feelings. Mike seems oblivious to the context of allowing his "childhood friend" to essentially play his wife and it's only after he corrects several people who refer to Jenny as his girlfriend that he decides to clarify his non-feelings with Jenny.

Across the board, a lot of the romantic and sexual content of the show is removed. Scottie is swapped out completely for a minor male character they used in another plotline. And then fake!Scottie is himself swapped out for Robert Zane, who is styled as a much more traditional villain with much stronger loyalty to Hardman whereas in the American version he was definitely more neutral. The character who shows up originally as the Japanese version of Vivian Tanaka at times fills in for Scottie, Alison Holt, and Zoey in scenes. Her relationship with Harvey is a bit flirtatious but not at all sexual.

In fact, Harvey has basically no personal life at all. We get one classic Harvey Specter man-slut scene where he's in a tuxedo taking a beautiful woman to the Phantom of the Opera only to ditch her for work. But immediately we find out that it actually wasn't a date at all, he asked her out to set her up in order to help a client.

Donna is basically just Harvey's secretary. They don't have much notable banter, there is no can opener (they do have this weird thing with gum but it's not a pre-trial ritual or anything) Although she does what she does against Cameron, it's not portrayed as anything other than normal loyalty.

The closest thing Harvey has to sexual tension is with Jessica ... but not the way he does in the original. They made Harvey ten years older, so the mentor-mentee relationship between him and Jessica is gone. The actors are about the same age!

They cut basically all the associates' storylines 😭 I mean those were some of the best/funniest interludes in the original. No rookie dinner, no Bainbridge briefs, there is a Harvard quiz but Mike loses (not sure why they changed that) This means Mike and Rachel do not actually interact that often, despite Rachel still being the primary love interest. And just like they toned Mike down, they toned Rachel way waaaaaaayyy down. She's a classic good girl, a bit robotic and drone like in her seriousness.

But they kept many of the cases! Even cases that seemed like they could not work outside of a NYC setting like Harvey defending Ray post-traffic accident. They make a lot of cosmetic changes--McKernon Motors is changed to a luxury watchmaker--but nothing so severe that you do not recognize the original immediately.

On the other hand, there are some changes that would make fanfic readers nod their heads in approval: Mike buys the suits from Rene (and charges them to Harvey's account), Harvey pays for Mike to get a new apartment, when Harvey asks Mike how he took tests for female customers in his cheating side hustle Mike tells Harvey that sometimes he dresses up like a girl. And ... Harvey might have sent Mike to Harvard Law in the end? It's a little vague ... In the last episode Harvey hands Mike a ticket to Boston and a check for some absurdly large sum of money and tells him he has two years, go have some fun. Mike responds "I'll only need one year" (although Harvard Law is a three year program so fuck both of you)

Conclusion, is this worth tracking down and watching? Mmmm... depends, if you're a fan of J-dramas and love Suits you will probably be amused by how familiar characters and stories pop up. But to be honest, one of the things that made the show so compelling to me was the moral ambiguity of the main characters. It's a show about corporate lawyers, people typically portrayed as villains or henchmen are in fact our heroes and people who want to follow the law tend to be villains unless they get with the program and start enabling the Harvey Specter's Fantastic Crime Wave (Sean Cahill, we're looking at you)

Redesigning the villains for my Wish rewrite and I thought of something cool

Why does Amaya cover her ears?? In the concept art it’s nowhere to be found or that’s what I think

Spoilers for my rewrite, she becomes the plot twist villain who betrays asha, Aster, and her friends to stop King Magnifico

I’m curious what’s more scarier, a wife losing her husband or her husband losing his wife? (Please reply I’m curious)

I’m gonna write as short and simple as much possible cause I don’t like writing very complex stories (easily gets distracted and lost). I don’t have names for some characters, so get for a bunch of nicknames

King Magnifico

So for King Magnifico, it’ll be a mix of Scar and Tai Long

What’s upon a time, there was a long line of rulers of Rosas

A King Alcohol and Queen Morte, has two sons, prince Magnifico and Prince Naïve who was just barely born, when Queen Morte died of childbirth. King alcohol became an alcoholic sad and depressed about Queens passing.

Prince Magnifico became greatly skilled with magic and leadership thanks to their Royal Wizard while Prince Naïve grew fair and kind, but he is not as strong as Magnifico is.

King Alcohol dying wish was for the youngest son to be the next king. Magnifico questions about this, King Alcohol said that their royal wizard said in context “you’re going to become evil if you don’t fix your bad habit, so it’s best for prince naïve to be king.”(which not true and what the royal wizard was warning about King Alcohol wish and if he doesn’t fix his bad attitude and habit, prince magnifico will become evil, he got fired for his poor guy)

And so Prince magnifico made a plan to destroy the kingdom his father and brother and with his power, he can fix it all as a “hero“. Until, he heard that Prince naïve is going to be wed with princess Amaya from a neighboring kingdom….

Queen Amaya

Once upon a time there was a prince and an peasant woman who is an alchemist was so deeply in love with each other. That prince’s daddy did not like this, because he was a sexist, believing that smart women are witches.

So the prince’s daddy send, the poor alchemist to the dungeons so that the alchemist doesn’t “hurt or kill the prince”

The prince asked his daddy about his girlfriend’s whereabouts, and the daddy said “that witch dumped you because she is dangerous and wanted to hurt you, you cannot trust them witches”

And the prince is so gullible that he believed this, and he has set to marrying a princess from a neighboring kingdom

One year later, Miss alchemist escape from her prisonment and goes “ yay I’m free what’s today’s news?” She later finds out the king jerk dumped her for another girl, and is having a party for their newborn baby girl named Amaya, and everyone was invited

And, of course, Miss alchemist did not like this furious she came to the party, uninvited and cursed their daughter to be a dragon and unfertile

King jerk:“it’s broken by true love, right?”

Miss alchemist: “ha ha, no”

King jerk fears this and ask his royal advisors what to do. The Royal advisors lied to the king of a made up story,that there was a similar scenario, where a witch curse a princess is to be ugly forever until she was married to someone by true love, and then that’s when she became the most beautiful woman in that land. And, of course, King jerk as gullible as he can be believes this,

The royal advisors did find a magical crystal that could harness princess Amaya‘s dragon curse, and use it as a necklace. but as shown in the sketches below, that it kind of works and has to cover up her dragon features

How they met

When Prince magnifico heard about this, he thought part of his evil plan to make princess Amaya fall in love with him and make her his queen. But when that happened Amaya and magnifico actually fell in love in first sigh, no love spell or potion needed.

They did hang out for a little bit before princess Amaya‘s marriage and prince magnifico ask her to be part of his plan.

Princess Amaya wants nothing of this and prince magnifico warns her about the peoples opinion when they find out who she really

princess Amaya shock thinking how the heck does this man knew about this and why he not disgusted or scared at all? Magnifico later on explains that he recognized the jemthat princess Amaya was wearing that it could hold curses

Amaya reveals what her curse to magnifico and he doesn’t care at all, because he’s that in love with her. Princess Amaya refuse to be part of the evil plan, and marries to prince naïve, until when she realized that the curse was not broken. She decides “you know what I like magnifico and he likes me why not”

And so, when magnifico steals a star from the sky, to make him powerful, he created plagues around the kingdom feminine, darkness, and he dragged destroying their land, which is Amaya that causes the death of Prince naïve and king alcohol. magnifico and Amaya became the next rulers after “saving roses” with magnifico power of wishes

Ep 27 was all plot and no ship. In fact none of my favorite characters except Jiang Li herself appeared in it - it was devoid of the Duke, his sidekicks, Shen Yurong, Princess Wanning, any of the Yes and except for a few seconds’ appearance devoid of Jiang Jingrui.

Still it definitely moved the plot forward - namely the plot of the serpents’ nest that is the Jiangs. Because the grievances were not suffered by our protag but the original Jiang Li and any connections of love or blood were also not hers but the original Li’s, she’s able to be clear headed and not really emotionally involved except insofar as she feels bad for injustice and she’s gonna need that because stepmom has lost the few restraints she had and the rest of the family is useless.

I found this ep humanized both Ruoyao and stepmom for me. I found it so tragic that Ruoyao has finally stopped stepping out of her mother’s monstrous, smothering shadow (her mother’s love always looked controlling and conditional but this ep shows just how downright abusive it was and how Ruoyao had so little chance) only to have her agency taken away from her by mommy on the most basic level. A woman who would poison her own child to get rid of a stepdaughter should not be called a mother in any sense.

I hope Ruoyao gets some sort of a happy ending and a way to find out who she actually is but I doubt that since the drama very clearly implied in this ep she is not a Jiang but is a child of adultery between stepmom and diviner. Papa Jiang is not much of a father even to his blood (he just goes with whatever the woman he is currently sleeping with likes) but the moment he discovers she’s not his, that nunnery is gonna be best case scenario for Ruoyao. Not every family can be the Fans from JoL or the Xiaos from Nirvana in Fire 2.

Stepmom? What a horror show but the drama humanized her (while showing she shouldn’t be allowed to run around at all.) All the woman wanted at the start was to run off with that painter and live in obscure bliss (Ruoyao’s desire to run with worthless ex-fiance is quite reminiscent of that - like mother like daughter - tho at least Mom’s boo genuinely loved her.) But daddy prevented it and was going to marry her off to some sort of mental defective with a family that wanted that dude to have a child (and in that society that marriage is pretty much life of horror) unless she found herself another match and was all “why don’t you off Papa Jiang’s wife, she’s sick anyway” - and not excusing stepmom being a murderer but it’s like Shen Yurong - when all your choices are bad choices you are way more likely to do bad things to survive. In some other alternate universe, she married that painter who never became a diviner and is living a placidly virtuous existence.

Honestly, the moment she killed a friend to escape a hellish marriage it was the end for her - she sent Jiang Li away because of the whole “I murdered your mom can’t have you find out or just look at you” (and daddy blames her for soft heartedness in not killing her!!!) and the other kid was an accident - it’s basically she started out as a villain out of perceived necessity but then she had to continue and got worse and worse. The journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step, indeed.

I found it poignant she ultimately wasn’t able to maim monster daddy as requested by diviner. Not so poignant that she’s apparently repeating the way she was parented in the way she’s parenting her daughter despite knowing firsthand what that’s like. (But I wonder how much her obsession with getting Ruoyao the best marriage, the nicest reputation (no showing in public at age x), the best womanly skills (zither) is driven by her forever remembered terror of being a woman with no power and no options and no good marriage prospects.)

Even that scarred cousin who married the abuser got a little bit of interest from me - the way she tells his paralyzed body that even tho he beat her so badly she will take excellent care of him and the sheer terror in his eyes was great. Go girl!!!!

Still, hope next ep brings back the Duke and Co. (Jiang Li sent away the guard the Duke had on a mission for her and girl - bad life choice - guard had a big point in that he was there for her protection. And now diviner is coming and there is no guard. I guess she’s so bad at listening to instructions, the Duke will have to move in with her himself to make sure she does what he wants. What a hardship 😂)

It's obviously kind of an oversimplification to say Gomorra is 'about' homosexuality. It's about a lot of things. But it's also completely true and I would even possibly argue that it is the load-bearing point of the show.

On a macro level, the whole thing is about the endlessly bloody and destructive struggle of a life in organised crime. But even in that sense it puts a very specific thematic point on the way love, relationships and blood relations are constant casualties of this way of life, and the effect of that relentless human loss on the players who keep choosing war over peace. Ciro blazing his trail by killing women, children and parents specifically is not a 'kick the cat' villain beat, it's the whole point of the material. Genny being perpetually struck down by his own nuclear family because he is competition to them is part of it. Being in the life means eventually sacrificing those you love on its altar. You murder your wife, you send your son to die in the jungle, you send your father-in-law to prison.

As we absorb that, we're presented with this succession of queer characters living in the periphery of the story. One by one they're introduced to us, they explicate themselves as divergent from heteronormative sex and gender roles, and then we watch them die or disappear. It's heavily implied that the 'lesbian' from the tower blocks may be a trans man, but she doesn't exist in a context where articulating that is an option, and she dies in a white wedding dress inherited from her father. Conte's relationship with a trans woman can only exist behind closed doors. He dates her sister in public, he puts off introducing her to his mother, he appeals to his catholicism to distance himself from his own sexuality. Gege panics and folds because he's afraid for his boyfriend and his daughter. What do I care about the guy fucking you in the ass? Genny sneers, before he beats Gege to death with the watch that signifies his connection to a mob family. Much like the harrowing shit the show delves into around race, the message is 'there is no mercy here'. There is no oxygen for the articulation of queerness. It can only survive unspoken, in negative space.

And there's no argument that the show is about the negative space between Genny and Ciro. Neither of them know how to articulate their relationship. They're best friends, they're worst enemies, they grew up together, Ciro raised Genny, they're brothers, they're father and son. They use the word love. They also use the word hate. They come as close as anyone ever gets to putting bullets in each other's brains. They keep taking turns to ask each other can we do this now? and the answer is always not yet. Even when they're on the same side, they can only discuss the nature of their relationship by proxy, through their mutual relationships with others. Pietro is one. The negative space is physical, too. They hover around each other. They talk nose to nose. In the first season they can't stay apart, they grab each other, they pepper each other with kisses. After the life erases all of their visible human connections and sets them at odds, they're shot like orbiting planets. Empty space takes up entire frames between them. Ciro is fucking constantly looking at Genny, to the point that shots are composed around his furtive glances. After they finally reveal themselves to Analisa, Ciro catches Genny by the arm to pull him away from the meeting. That's not a gesture we ever see between other characters, especially in a context like that. They are constantly either 1 inch or 12 feet apart.

But most of all, there's negative space in the title. Gomorra. Yeah it's a play on Camorra. Don't worry about it. Don't think too much about it. Just ignore the primary association with that word that floats into your head when you hear it. It's absent from the show, right? It's absent from the life. This is a mafia show about two straight friends.

Even though i like to read stories where the girl is the guy's entire world (including the ones from Percabeth...just sometimes. Not much into PJO fanfics despite writing many fanfics from this fandom), i think it's kind unfair to the other characters that helped to build the heroes as they are now.

Like, for some fans and even authors:

. Lois is more important to Clark than his own mother.

. Annabeth is more important to Percy than his own mother or best friend.

. Hinata is more important to Naruto than anything else

. Padme is more important to Anakin than anything in the entire galaxy.

"If something happens to them, the heroes would turn evil"

In fanfics yes, but in real stories...complicated to say.

The reasons the heroes turned evil weren't 100% because of them.

. Clark not only lost his wife, but also his child and his city. He felt very guilty for killing the woman he loves. There are many versions of Superman, but in his situation...well, i guess his emotions are different from humans. Clark sees Lois as his favourite human because of her flaws. I used to ship them a lot, but then i saw how Lois reminded me another charater. So, i stopped consuming their stories together. But, one thing is a fact, it doesn't matter if Lois dies, the real Superman would never turn evil. He may have his dark side, but Superman is still Clark Kent. He values his morals a lot. If Lois became a villain and he had to stop her, he would. The best example of Superman losing Lois is Kingdom Come.

. Anakin was a slave, he was taken to become a jedi very young, away from his mother. He had to repress many feelings due to jedi codes. He was always a little insecure. So, when his mother died it caused a big trauma on him and he didn't want the same thing to happen to his wife. Padme only became his anchor because he felt excluded and lonely due to his insecures that were never worked during the story. If Padme tried to convince him to talk to Obi Wan or something like that, maybe the story would have a different ending for the couple. Padme was smart and couldn't see that her husband was suffering and needed emotional help? I guess even ashoka could be a better help for Anakin than any other character. They kinda created a bond between them. I don't consume star war stuffs that much either.

. Naruto lost his control when Pain stabbed Hinata because he was already feeling many bad emotions after everything that happened. To Naruto, what really matters is the village, even when its people were horrible to him. He always had other priorities outside Hinata. Naruto is that person that cares about everyone equally. From i could see, no one is more important than the other for him...maybe only Sasuke. Serious. That man wants to spend more time with his best friend than any other person, even his own family. So, yeah. If Hinata died or even became a villain, Naruto would move on or would defeat her. If Naruto is able to fight Sasuke to protect the village, Hinata is not out of the question either.

I may not be a big fan of this couple anymore, but i still read some stories with dark percy. But, in canon, i know that the real Percy wouldn't turn evil because of a girl. The real one would value his family and friends more than anything. He literally would be a second version of Naruto. Everything Percy did or does for Annabeth, he would do for anyone else. He was willing to risk his life for others. He would get pretty mad if something happened to his family and friends. Percy will always have Grover to remind him of who he is...of the person Sally would be proud of. Sally is able to risk everything for him, even stay with a horrible man for years only to protect her son. She's been with Percy during his entire life. Then, he meets a girl and BANG! She becomes the most important thing to him? I don't get it. "But, Sally is a human and Grover a satyr." I know, i understand. More reason for them to be important to Percy because together, they complete each other. They bring different perspectives. Even though Percy needs someone from the demigod life like Nico, Clarisse, Jason, Frank, Hazel, Leo, Connor, Thalia and many others (including Annabeth, but not only her) because they would help him with the side he has more difficulties to understand, he also needs to be reminded of his human side (Sally, Elle, Paul, Rachel) and that there aren't only demigods and humans (Dionysus, Hera, Grover, Apollo...). He needs all the diversity he can get to have a better understanding of his life...and mature with all the knowledge learned during his journey as a hero, as a human, as a friend, as a boyfriend and as a brother.

Even Goku has other people outside his family to keep him grounded. So, it's not only about romantic relationships. It's about the bonds the characters have with others that can determinate his future maybe.

Example: If Percy didn't have Sally or Grover, he could have turned out like Luke.

If Naruto didn't have his few friends, Iruka and that guy from the restaurant (i forgot many things), he would have turned out like Obito.

If Goku didn't hit his head or didn't have his friends with him, he could have been evil.

If Clark was created by evil people or didn't have his family, maybe he would have turned out a little different.

If Anakin didn't have his mother, maybe he would have turned to the dark side faster or maybe he would have commited ☠... who knows?🤔

A Fem!Reader with a Werecat (transforming from human to overly large house-cat to monstrous cat beast) Quirk isekaied from BNHA into The Remarried Empress where she's adopted as a pet cat for the Empress.

She's just thought to be a highly intelligent cat who's bigger than most cats (including Maine Coons) until she manages to transform back to her human state. She's gorgeous (as all readers are; the beautiful ladies/gents/non-binary royalty they are!) and aching to go back home to her husband (Shouta Aizawa) and her kids (Class 1-A, Hitoshi, and Eri).

Sovieshu is interested in her becoming his mistress but she's not interested (because she's married, obviously), she avoids him and Rashta excessively, she forms a deep bond with Navier and Heinrey, Kosair may have feelings for her but she gently turns him down as she only loves her husband.

She cares for her new friends but she has her life back home and just wants to be back in her husband's arms.

(And if, one day, Shouta (and the kids) manages to find her and take her into his arms to take her home after she says her farewells to her friends, she'll be the happiest she's ever been since she got there)

Preface: Y/N Aizawa has a quirk that allows her to turn into a cat, and depending on the threat level she can either turn into a typical house cat or a monstrous cat beast. She is married to Shota Aizawa. One day, she was facing a villain, and she was isekai’d to the world of the Remarried Empress.

Sovieshu

He was a bit concerned when he heard that his wife had rescued a cat that had been roaming about the palace, but he assumed that it might have been a stray. From what she had told him, the cat was okay, just a bit spooked for some unknown reason.

However, your identity was eventually revealed. You were a very gorgeous woman with cat ears and a tail, and Sovieshu felt his heart beating fast. You know that song that has the line that goes she looks just like a dream, the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen? Yeah, Alexa, play that song.

For days and days, weeks and weeks, he has been trying to woo you. Bro wasn’t loyal, so that surely meant you didn’t have to be loyal either. However you were adamant on remaining faithful to your husband and your ‘children’ back in your world. During a time where he backed off a little, you showed him pictures of Class 1-A, Shinso and Eri. He was jealous when you said that your husband and you cared for them as though they were your own.

It eventually got to the point where you were very close to scratching Sovieshu because his advances were getting annoying. He didn’t care about you being a married woman, though. Hell, he was a married man and he had a mistress and pursuing you was the cherry on top to his complicated love life.

Once the portal opened up for you to get home, your husband made it through first. You let out a scream before jumping into his arms and giving him a long kiss. Your students, Shinso, and Eri let out cheers at recovering their teacher/mom, but Sovieshu was absolutely heartbroken. He knew that alcohol would be his best friend that night.

Rashta

She was quite curious when she heard about Her Imperial Majesty taking in and rescuing a cat that she had found in her garden. Since Navier wasn’t particularly fond of conversing with her over such trivial matters like cats, she could only get updates from Sovieshu.

But when you were revealed to be a human with the power to turn into a cat, she was at first amazed. However, she looked at the man that she called her lover, only to see heart eyes instead of normal eyes. He was smitten with you and not with her. Then she was angry and upset because the supposed love of her life was looking at another woman (this is the story of the La Llarona, people).

You did your best to avoid her, but sometimes it was inevitable. She eavesdropped on one of your conversations with Her Imperial Majesty, and you were showing printed out pictures that you carried in your bag of your students and your son and daughter, and eventually your husband. She was definitely jealous that you led such a happy life and she couldn’t.

Rashta even tried copying you instead, because obviously there was something about you that lured Sovieshu in. It might just be your cat ears and tail, but you acted much differently than both her and Navier. You were sarcastic to the point where it could come off as mean (to be fair, that was specifically targeted towards her and the Emperor, but anyways), and you had a few selected favorites when it came to people. The young mistress did not have the confidence to pull it off, unfortunately.

When your husband finally got the person who teleported you here to re-open the portal, she was genuinely questioning your taste in men. She wouldn’t exactly describe your husband as handsome as you had said he was, but the pure joy that was in not just your eyes but also his was something that Rashta could only imagine.

Navier

She was under the impression that you were a normal cat, so she took you to her chambers to get you properly cleaned and tidied up. After all, a cat of the Empress should look no less than presentable. But, before she gave you to one of her handmaidens, you revealed yourself to be not a mere cat, but a woman who could turn into a cat (take a shot for every time I say ‘cat’).

You, however, told her about your desire to make it back to your own home to be able to see your family again. She asked about them, and you gladly pulled out some pictures (something she was unfamiliar with as photography wasn’t around yet) to show her your students, Shinso, Eri, and your husband. There was a sad glint in her eyes when you explained that your husband loved you as you loved him, and you knew that there was something wrong with her marriage.

As a result of this discovery, you leaned your head into her lap. Your ears folded down, and she started rubbing your head as you started transforming back into a cat. Suddenly, you heard a few caws at the window, and Navier had to hold you back from going to attack Queen (AKA Heinrey). It made the Empress laugh at the irony of the situation, but she made sure that the bird made it out okay.

Unfortunately, once you revealed your true identity, it caused you to gather some rather undesired attention… from her husband. She couldn’t blame you, as you did nothing wrong. But Sovieshu was definitely in the wrong because his advances were unwanted by you. You were remaining faithful, and Navier did her best to support you in that. She’s even smacked his face for you to escape.

Once the portal opened, you kissed your husband with such passion that it caused everyone in the room to blush. However, you pulled away before you ran out of air and immediately picked Eri up in your arms and placed a kiss upon her forehead. The Empress took the small girl from your arms and had an adorable little time with her as you went to place a kiss on the foreheads of Shinso and the rest of Class 1-A. It did not go unnoticed that you called them your litter.

Heinrey

Your first meeting is rather a funny story. It was the night that Navier took you in, he just so happened to fly into the window. You tried to eat him, and he is now traumatized. It wasn’t until you both were ushered out of the room that you both agreed to meet up in the garden. There, you both revealed your true selves (obviously, you gave him time to get dressed, which was kind of embarrassing).

From that point, you acted as his wing-woman (that is most definitely a pun). You’ve shown him pictures from your family and how you needed to get back to them; so as long as you help him by wooing Her Imperial Majesty, you could count on him to try and find your way back (and unlike a familiar bird-man from Twisted Wonderland, this bird-man actually tries).

If I’m being honest, you are the only woman aside from Navier that he genuinely appreciates, and that’s a pretty high honor. I mean, have you seen how this man treats Rashta? Speaking of, you confide in him that you’re trying to avoid her and Sovieshu because the former is trying to copy you and the latter is trying to get you to become his mistress even though you were happily married to your husband back home.

He is definitely a dear friend of yours. You even treat him as though he were one of your 22 (now technically 23) ‘kittens’. Mans considers you a motherly figure in his life because you always make sure he’s okay and he can go to you if he wants to go on a lovesick rant about the love of his life.

When it was finally time for you to return home, he was kind of sad because he was going to miss you. However, he saw the love in you and your husband’s eyes when you both saw each other at last. He knew that if he wanted to truly cherish Navier, he needed to look at her like that every single day he wakes, and he’s ready for that kind of commitment.

Kosair

He had the chance to meet you during his surprise visit to his sister, and he was immediately in love. You were beautiful, you had cat ears and a tail, and you could shoot back witty remarks as though it was nothing. Plus, you really cared for his younger sister, so this man was heart-eyes for you.

For months, this man was so down bad for you, and you knew it. It’s like that situation where your guy best friend has a crush on you and you know it, but you pray to any god or goddess there is that he finds someone better. It’s not that you didn’t like him, it’s just that you liked him only as a friend. Also, you were happily married to the love of your life, Shota Aizawa.

So, one day, you decided that it was time to let him down easily. You pulled him into the garden and sat next to him on a bench. Out of your bag, you brought out a few pictures. Kosair flipped through each one, and saw that it was of your life back in your world. As he neared the end, his heart absolutely shattered.

There was a photo of you braiding Eri’s hair, and on the back it said ‘New Kitten!!!’ You said that she had gone through such a tough past, and you were glad you were able to rescue her. Then there was a picture of you and a boy that looked to be around the age of 16 hugging each other, and on the back it said ‘Shinso got accepted into the Hero Course!’ There were a multitude of pictures with you and a bunch of teenagers who looked like your students.

But, then, he got to the last few pictures. It was a few romantic-looking pictures: wine glasses clinking, a headless photo of two people (you being one of them) dancing, etc. But, there finally was a picture of you and another man kissing each other. Kosair went paler than he ever had before. You, with a joyful tone in your voice, explained that the man was your husband, and you showed him your ring-finger which, lo and behold, had a ring on it. Well, he stood up and left, and you knew that you had definitely hurt his feelings. Was this really the best way to do this?
