That holiday Special
This one.
Long, boring, snarky.
I heard it’s super bad so obviously I have to watch it for Bea Arthur and the introduction of Jango Fett’s little lad and the Glup Shitto cameo.
First impressions… Grumpy grandpa Wookie needs to punch bratty Wookie’s lights out. The intro is where the last 40 years of Kashyyk architecture has come from, I guess. It also answers the question, do Wookies have boobs? (No).
Sadly and tragically, bratty Wookie fails to plummet off the balcony while using it as a balance beam. Such a tragedy.
The next scene is weird. Granpa Wookie turns on the holochess table which apparently has shitty circus mode.
This raises a question: If all the Starwars arcade games are all wire frame rail-shooters… but they have colour holographic games, then WTF? Is everyone just an atrocious retrogamer for that one year 30,000 years ago when they hadn’t invented filled polygons?
Note: The Star Wars universe had Jedi for 1000 generations which is about 25,000 years and existed for a long time prior to that, when space travel was also easy. From the invnetion of Agriculture to Cyberpunk 2077 was less than 12,000 years. So everyone in the Star Wars universe is just extremely shitty at computer games.
Like all the TV in the late70s and early eighties, it is wildly and unnecessarily horny. There are lots of crotch shots. And costumes that are crimes against humanity. And the Furry fandom. Lots of tails and thongs.
Since the Star Wars universe hasn’t invented mobile phones, they put a video call in to Luke Skywalker who helpfully reveals the names are Mala, Itchy and… Lumpy.
Checks out.
Luke has the biggest vape in 3 systems
I don’t know who was working the makeup for this thing but Luke has been replaced by Ellen Degeneres
Mala: I’m worried that my husband, who hangs around with a notorious flake on a starship that’s a known hunk of junk, and who is hunted by the Empire and about 14 different criminal organisations, may be in trouble. Luke: You’d be prettier if you smiled. R2: [Immediately tries to murder Luke. It’s justified]
Meanwhile… On Wookie Planet C, an imperial gunnery officer is shopping for souvenirs. Darth Vader threatens to do a door-to-door search of several entire planets. Lumpy is still a brat. On TV there’s a drag queen cooking bantha loins. The Wookies have a flat screen TV. Why they’re using CRTs for everything else is not explained. Maybe they shop at Wayland-Utani Screens
Nobody loses any fingers. This is a surprise.
Then the Imperial Muppet shows up on screen and announces a blockade. Fun! He doesn’t get to finish because the foley artist over dubs him with a door knock FX. It’s the shopkeeper. He drops a couple of one liners that were probably hilarious back in the day.
The shopkeeper is weirdly intent on kissing everyone. I think we know who’s trying to keep Mala’s bed warm while Chewie is off yelling at Han.
Everyone gets a present. Mala gets a… thing. Lumpy gets… a thing. Itchy gets porn, apparently. But it’s early 80s TV so it’s a handful of glitter and a bunch of dancers with socks on their hands and some guided meditation. Then horny ASMR.
And now… Leia’s office. Good ol’ General Organa, the only person who’s not dicking about.
Mala: Chewie and han haven’t arrived Leia: Well… you know Han is a screw up and probably flew face-first into that imperial blockade. Hey, put the random shopkeeper on: Dude, look after Mala or I’ll make you fellate a gundark. Leia out.
Shopkeeper: Gimme a Wookie Uckie.
Ok this dude is definitely into WILFs.
And then the fire nation attacked Han arrived in a cardboard cut-out of the Millenial Falcon. Just in time for the EMPIRE to show up and walk vaguely around the room scowling. Itchy show the nice officer your porn.
This officer likes to snap his finger a lot.
Shopkeep loses his cool. First bit of good acting in the special!
Imperial Gunner stops to watch Jefferson Aeroplane. The officer is totes cool with it. And why not? One of his storm troopers just swatted two Wookies out of the way. Where was THAT guy on Endor?

Dad Letter 013121
31 January, 2021
Dear Dad--
It was 2 below zero this morning! I’ve noticed that, even if it’s 10 degrees outside, if the sun comes out, it’ll start to melt the snow on my car and on the trailer. I’ve also considered that the car’s interior will heat up in direct sunlight, even if it’s below freezing outside, and we should always expect snow to melt on our roof, because that’s where all of our very expensive heat goes to die, the ceiling right below our roof. But! The snow on the car and on the trailer don’t melt if it’s below freezing and cloudy. So...the sun is up to something; I’ll have to investigate this further. As I write this letter, the whole left side of our trailer, which faces east and is getting strong sunlight, keeps making popping and thudding sounds as it heats up.
I hope you are well! I have received the things I ordered from Amazon for my birthday, so I can give updates, upon which I’m 100% certain you were waiting with baited breath. Firstly, I got the carpet tape I ordered, and my rugs skootch no longer. I was really spending a preposterous amount of time putting the rugs back in place every day. Now they’ll stay where I put them, dammit. If only all problems were this easy to solve! I also got the insulated socks, and I’m wearing them now, and they’re so warm and comfortable that I’m considering never removing them. Pry ‘em off my cold, dead feet! They’re just that comfy!
I ordered a pair of pillows, and they have, in fact, increased the quality of our pillow-having experience quite a bit. Some of our pillows were just embarrassing, they were so nasty. I probably replace my television more frequently than my pillows. Another present I received was the wool sweater! I knew that I’d be irresistible in it, and I was correct. Never owned wool before...did everyone know how itchy that shit is? I’m going to need to wear a pretty vigorous shirt underneath the sweater to not be itchy. No matter, I would have anyway, and having a nice shirt with a collar come out the top of that sweater will only cause further spontaneous disrobement.
I got the 10-pack of Star Trek movies, and they are terrific! They all have multiple commentary tracks; Star Trek: First Contact has three different commentary tracks! That makes my inner film nerd resonate with excitement. Ditto the new cleaned-up version of Cosmos. As for Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, it still looks like it was filmed on video in the 80s, but now it looks like it was filmed on video in the 80s...just yesterday, if that makes sense. The picture and sound have been cleaned up a lot to look more natural on modern TVs.
Two more movies: I got First Man, about Neil Armstrong, and it’s lovely. In the end, when they land on the moon, and the film switches to IMAX format, it looks even lovelier. Great movie about the space race, and very good launch/space travel scenes. If you’re not familiar with how spectacularly well the Apollo 8 mission was going before it went spectacularly wrong, it’s very much worth seeing. I knew about this incident because of the miniseries “From the Earth to the Moon,” but this movie makes it a lot scarier.
Last movie was The Revenant, on 4K. I got lucky a couple of times in recent years. When I had my gallbladder removed and took time off work to heal, I got one day into my recuperation and our living room TV died. Well, gotta have a TV, so I went to Wal-Mart and got the cheapest similarly-sized TV they had. Although I hadn’t planned it, I was able to get a 4K TV. That’s a higher resolution than I thought I’d get. Then, in Christmas 2019, Zach was able to get me a 4K disk player for my big gift. It’s just a DVD player that’s better resolution than DVD and better resolution than BluRay.
To play movies in 4K, you need three things: a TV with 4K resolution, a DVD player that can play 4K discs, and a 4K copy of the movie to play. I’ve now been able to get about a half dozen 4K copies of movies (2001, Alien, Jaws, Close Encounters, etc.) I now own the movie The Revenant on 4K. The reason I’m giving this so much build-up is because watching The Revenant on 4K was the first time in a long time that a home video experience really knocked my dick in the dirt. You’ve probably seen this movie; it does two things very well: it’s disgusting and violent and bloody as hell, and it’s got the most beautiful scenery you’ve ever seen.
And most of the movies I have on 4K aren’t necessarily sharper on 4K than they are on previous formats, because it’s an old movie that was shot on film. But The Revenant, as I mentioned in my last letter, was actually shot on 6K (It’s two whole Ks more!) so by the time I saw it on my 4K home TV...it’s just amazing. It’s such a beautiful movie. Even when it’s disgusting, it’s beautiful to watch. You may have to see Leonardo DiCaprio get “et” by a bear, but the scenery where it happens is like a renaissance painting. Every other shot is just achingly beautiful. As I grow less bothered by the bloody violence with each subsequent viewing, the movie is going to become something like a screensaver in my living room. Beautiful shots of frozen nature in high definition! Only occasionally does someone take an arrow in the neck from the marauding Indians.
There is not much else going on! I’m looking for work, and trying not to spend money on anything, and I’ve had some trouble with depression lately. But the last few days have been rather good! I don’t know if it’s because it’s snowed a few times, or because I received my birthday presents. (I hope it’s not because I received my birthday presents.) Or it might be that my meds are working well this week, or it could be unrelated to any such external factors. I wish there were a way to test that. Either way, I’m feeling good. I’m looking for work, and I’m now concentrating on work-from-home jobs that aren’t call center jobs. There aren’t as many, but they do exist. If I can do a job from home with all the cat interference, that might be a way to earn my kibble. Will advise.
And I try to remain aware of everything I have to be thankful for, or at least not anxious about. I have rent covered, got bills paid, got my food and prescriptions; I’m feeling fit and looking skinnier than ever, got two happy kitties, and my car still starts, even when it’s 2 degrees below zero. Once I get vaccinated, I can see friends again. Until then, I have a nice movie collection, and good snow boots. I’m actually considering some volunteer work, once it’s safe. I don’t know that I’ll actually do any, but I would like to try. I’m curious to see what it would do to my outlook and my depression to serve some greater cause than myself, to do something charitable.
I see the Super Bowl is set for next Sunday between the Kansas City So Whats vs. the Tampa Bay Who Gives a Shits, and that they’ll be allowing limited people into the stadium. Well! That ought to look weird. I wonder what kind of tone the commercials are going to set, like, “You lost your grandma to Covid. Have an ice cold Budweiser!!” I hope you two may be vaccinated soon, if you haven’t been already. Time to get this plague bullshit behind us!
More next week. All my love to you both!!

Sock making observations part oops:
So. Okay. The thing is...
I was fine looking at yarn online. It’s safely behind the screen where it can’t really tempt me, so that wasn’t a problem. But then...
You see, I found some old projects. This one:
and these:
The first one is an infinity cowl, with rainbow gradient colorwork, that came out perfectly. It’s a complicated project, with two color grafting and a precise design that shows every error. The second is a set of fingerless mitts, done in simple ribbing.
I can’t wear the cowl.
It’s too itchy.
The mitts, which were so easy, are also super comfy, and I ended up wearing them even though they’re not finished yet.
The difference is all in the yarn.
So this brings me back to the socks. I sat down to work on them again, and the yarn is not great. It’s the kind of yarn you get at a big box store. It’s not horrible, but it’s not good either. And I have yarn that is good. My best yarn isn’t as nice as some people’s worst yarn, and I’m looking forward to indulging in some luxurious yarn later, but my nice yarn is much nicer than what I’d started with. It’s sparkly and soft and NOT ITCHY. I moaned over it for a while, and then I set aside the original socks, and started a new, sparkly pair. It’s not self striping, so I’m doing opposite stripes on the two socks, which is fun. Life is too short for knitting stuff I won’t enjoy.

My Accutane Journey
i am starting accutane tonight (6/6/17)
i’ve struggled with acne since probably fifth or sixth grade so when i was 10 or 11 and now i am going to turn 22 in less than a month. for most of that time, i used over the counter washes and prescription strength benzoyl peroxide prescribed by my normal physician. my acne has been not too bad at times and really bad at other times. during that time, i made a lot of mistakes with make ups and lotions that clogged my pores. for the past 10 years, im not sure if there was ever time when my face was clear. finally, almost three years ago, i went to a dermatologist where i finally learned how to take care of my skin. i was prescribed better medicine and was given a routine to follow. even with all of that, my skin still didn't clear up. so after three years, my dermatologist decided it was time i should try accutane.
i am excited to finally have clear skin, especially since i am in my 20s now. accutane will probably be a struggle. i can't drink while I'm on it because accutane is rough on your liver and I'm not supposed to do anything else that is bad for your liver. its not a huge deal, but in the time i will be on accutane, i will have my birthday and going back to school and probably halloween. i will have to make sure i apply a lot of sunscreen because i already burn pretty easily and accutane makes it even worse. everything is going to be really dry, so i will need to get better and applying lotion regularly. i think the hardest part will be that my skin will likely get worse in the first month or so because i have to stop all other acne medication. the other hard part is i will have to change my diet and start eating healthier because my cholesterol is high and if its high you can't take as high of a dosage and you have to be on it much longer. and this stuff isn't cheap. luckily, my dad has super awesome insurance through his work and we pay $40 a month when it would cost $1400 a month without insurance. i know i am incredibly lucky to be able to afford this.
i am probably going to try to keep a little mini blog thing going to document this because its pretty big for me. i have to change my lifestyle but this is going to clear up my acne (hopefully in one treatment, hopefully i don't have to do it twice.) probably each month, when i get my prescription filled, i will add to this post with a summary of the last month and a progress picture. so here is it at the start:
6/6/17 - start of first month
6/9/17
it definitely gets worse before it gets better. with my old skin care routine, i still got acne so it didn't really do what it was supposed to do but boy did it help keep my acne small and under control. its been three days without acne medication (besides my isotretinoin pills) and the acne i had at the start has gotten worse and new ones have popped up and they're pretty bad. hopefully this doesn't last too long. the worst part is that i can't do anything about them. i can't use benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to treat them or prevent them. i just have to let them run their course. it sucks now, but at least its summer so i don't have see people every day, and it will be so worth it to have a few weeks of annoying bad acne to have it way way better at the end of this. also, i decided that i am going to add pictures every time i finish a pack which is 10 pills so every 5 days. i think especially at the beginning it will be helpful so later i can look back and see how bad my skin could be and how much it has improved.
6/10/17
man, the initial breakout has been bad for me. its painful and itchy and i just have to wait it out. my skin hasn't dried out yet and at this point feels way more oily than normal which is probably part of the initial breakout. yesterday, i ordered a gel bead mask for my face that i will freeze and use to try to help with the inflammation because its bad. BUT tomorrow is my last pill from the first pack so i will add a picture update then. i just wanted to post this tonight while it was on my mind. hopefully the initial breakout “clears” (at least goes back to how my skin was before) soon because i have been avoiding doing things that involve people because of how bad it is. but tomorrow i am hiking a 14er with some friends. sad side note: i was reading about some of the side effects of isotretinoin and join pain is common and one thing said to avoid strenuous physical activity but I'm hoping thats not too bad for me because i want to work out this summer and get in shape. we’ll see. I'm gonna keep working out until it hurts too much i guess, hopefully i never even starts to hurt. anyway, ill add an update tomorrow. hopefully after the initial breakout clears a little and I'm more used to the side effects, i won't feel the need to add as many updates.
6/11/17 - end of first pack/start of second pack
my skin hasn't dried out yet, it actually feels even oilier which i feel like you can kind of see, especially in the middle picture. it may be hard to tell from the pictures, but there is more acne and they are bigger/more inflamed. i ordered a gel bead face mask thing from amazon that you can freeze and apply kind of like an ice pack and I'm gonna try to use it for when the inflammation is bad to calm down the acne. i hiked mount bierstadt today (first 14er of the summer at 14,065 feet) and i noticed that my lips were drying out but I'm not sure if that was from the environment of the hike or the accutane. at this point, i just want it to dry out. then ill know that it is working and honestly it easier for me to moisturize than deal with oily skin. i have a feeling i am not gonna feel the same way once my skin actually dries out, but this is where I'm at right now. I'm hoping that this initial breakout clears quickly! ill add more in 5 days and hopefully not any sooner!
6/16/17 - end of second pack/start of third pack
not a whole lot of change, still getting more acne but some of the initial stuff is healing. my skin hasn't dried out yet, but my lips are really dry and chapped and if i open my mouth too wide, the corners crack open so thats fun. also i have to make sure that i moisturize my feet after i shower and put on fuzzy socks because they feel really dry and awful if i don't so I've now become a sock sleeper. when the initial breakout started, i was trying really hard and i was doing pretty good about not popping them because scarring is a lot more likely on isotretinoin (according to what i read on the internet) but some of them get so big and its a bad habit that i have and now i am going to make even more of an effort to not pick at them. i really need to avoiding touching my face in general. hopefully that is something i will get good at soon, but at least while I'm on isotretinoin. my face ice pack thing is nice, ill probably use it tonight. i recognize that my acne is not nearly as bad as some other people that end up on accutane, and I've realized that I'm only a week and a half in so there is definitely still time for the initial breakout to get worse. only time will tell, and i will keep posting updates every five days, when i finish a pack.
6/22/17 - end of third pack/start of fourth pack (one day late)
yesterday my sister and i hiked quandary peak (14,265′) and i was exhausted when we got back and didn't feel like taking the pictures and writing the post so thats why I'm doing it the next morning
anyway, still in the initial breakout. these past five days I've really noticed a lot of blackheads (like A LOT, on my forehead and on and around my nose). lips are still dry but i bought a bunch of chapstick and have it like everywhere for when i need it. i haven't noticed a whole lot of other dryness, but I've been using lotion regularly to try to prevent the dryness. my skin is really any better or any worse than any of my other updates. but I'm halfway done with the first month so thats exciting and hopefully by the end of the month ill see some improvement. so new post in 4 days to get back on track!
6/26/17 - end of fourth pack/start of fifth pack
i didn't really notice a whole lot of change over the past 4 or 5 days. comparing the pictures, it does look like it got a bit worse, but nothing too extreme. almost done with month 1!
7/2/17 - end of fifth pack/start of sixth (last of the month) pack
yikes. part of it may be that i took this picture right after i woke up, but my skin definitely got worse. i got my blood drawn on friday (super fun story, they didn't have me in the system as a standing order but they remembered my story and asked if it was for accutane and took the sample anyway so hopefully it gets all sorted out by the time i go back again) and i see my dermatologist on monday to get the prescription for the second month. she said the first month is usually the worst, so hopefully by the end of the second month, things are looking better. also my birthday was yesterday so what a great way to ring in 22, a face full of acne and not being able to drink! woo! but i knew that going into this and it will be worth it to have clear skin. at least it wasn't my 21st, that would be sad. on a side note, taking these pictures and keeping this journal/post has made me a lot more used to seeing my profile and I'm a lot more comfortable with it now, i used to hate it and i think that was mostly because i never really saw it and it wasn't what i expected it to look like or wanted it to look like but I'm getting over it. anyway, hopefully my skin starts to improve a bit in the next few weeks or at least stops getting worse!
Month 2
7/4/17 - start of first pack
my dermatologist upped my dosage from 20 mg twice a day to 30 mg twice a day. she wanted to go to 40 mg twice a day but (somehow) my total cholesterol, triglycerides, and ldl went up AND my acne was really bad and i was super inflamed for my appointment and she didn't want to risk making it worse or something. the start of this month, things are basically the same as they were with starting the last pack: bad. also, the joint and back pain is starting. my back has been hurting for a while, but i didn't connect it with the accutane at first. now, my ankles and knees also hurt, but at least not all of the time. they're only really bad if I've been laying down or not moving for a while and then start walking, which makes mornings fun. i am worried about the pain getting worse with working out, because I've been doing pretty good sticking to the body boss method (I'm on pretraining week 3), but it has you doing cardio once a week and the main program has a lot more jumping than pretraining. i think I'm gonna try the indoor rower for cardio this week but eventually i might try swimming. but anyway, I've come to accept that i am going to always be uncomfortable in some way while on accutane, whether its dry lips (so bad), dry skin, dry eyes, itchy skin, back pain, or joint pain. but, again, i think it will all be worth it to be cured from acne. this isn't just a treatment, its a cure.
7/9/17 - end of pack 1/start of pack 2
still yikes. nothing new to report.
7/14/17
see 7/24/17
7/19/17
see 7/24/17
7/24/17
so for the last 3 pictures, I've remembered to take the pictures, but i forget to write about it oops. its been about the same for the last three packs anyway so there wouldnt have been a whole lot to report. i think they are finally starting to dry up and shrink though! its way better now than when i was last at the dermatologist. i get my blood drawn on wednesday then see my dermatologist on thursday because the office isn't open friday and i leave tuesday for hawaii (!!) so i need to have the new packs by then. I'm hoping my cholesterol has gone down. I've almost completely given up red meat (i had a burger on my birthday and at a rockies game) and i have also basically given up fried foods (except for the day i get my blood drawn because i want my chick fil a bagel sandwich and a donut) but I've been eating so much better and i hope it shows in my bloodwork. if my cholesterol goes up again, i think its probably because of the accutane and not because of my diet. anyway, well see if she ups my dosage to 40 mg twice a day!
7/27/17
i went to my dermatologist today. good news, my cholesterol is starting to improve. its still high but my total and ldl went down from last time so she said to keep doing what I'm doing. but it is still high and i have a lot of inflammation so she is keeping me at 30 mg twice a day and is putting me on steroids to reduce the inflammation. she said at this point it should be much better than it is. my ankles and knees have been hurting for this past month too and i told her that and she said that that is a common side effect and i should cut back on working out. I'm still going to be following the body boss method because so far its working well for me, but ill adjust it if i need to like on cardio days. today was a cardio day and i was gonna run but my ankles were hurting on my way to the rec center and once i got on the treadmill i knew there was no way id be able to run for 20 minutes so i just walked fast. i feel like it wasn't a great workout but i think it wouldve been worse if i tried to run. but the steroids should also help with that pain and hopefully in the next few weeks my face gets a lot better!
7/29/17
well i found these pictures way after the fact (i realized i never put them in a collage) so i have no idea what was going through my mind here. i think at this point i had just started the steroids and it looks like they were starting to help.
Month 3
8/3/17
so this is after a week on the steroids. the inflammation has improved some but its definitely still there. the steroids are helping my joints so much, i haven't had any joint pain recently. im currently in hawaii visiting one of my aunts so i haven't really been thinking a whole lot about my skin. until next time...
8/13/17
oops too much fun on vacation in hawaii and i completely forgot a day which is unfortunate because i finished the steroids like two days ago and now the inflammation is really bad again
my dermatologist said to call her if it was bad again when i finished the steroids so i will tomorrow when they open and see if she will put me on more because right now this is terrible. I'm hoping my cholesterol is better this month so she can up the dosage because i was sort of under the impression my skin would be bad for the first month and then start to get a lot better but for 2 and a half months its been worse than when i was using differin and clindamycin but I'm just telling myself it will get better soon and this is a cure. i have a feeling i may need to do a second round of accutane though. one of my aunts said she went on it in her 20s and needed to do two rounds. at least if i do, it should be fairly better than it is now. anyway back to my point about cholesterol, like i said i was in hawaii and wasn't able to watch what i was eating as much so hopefully it doesn't get worse.
8/14/17
i called my dermatologist today and she is going to put me back on the steroids until my appointment in two weeks so hopefully this terrible inflammation goes down soon and i can not feel embarrassed going out even with makeup on. also i have the fe exam on friday and i still have studying to do so I'm sure that stress isn't helping but there isn't much i can do except make time to study and get it over with on friday.
8/18/17
the inflammation isn't as bad as before but it is still kinda bad. i started the steroids on the 14th so its only been like 3 days of actually taking it (i took this in the morning). well see how it goes over the next week an a half before my appointment
8/23/17
the inflammation seems to be getting a lot better. the thing I'm worried about is that ill stop the steroids again and it will be get really really bad. i get my blood work done on friday and my appointment is on monday. hopefully my cholesterol isn't too bad but this was not my best month as far as watching what I've been eating. also now that I'm back up at school, the no alcohol thing kinda sucks.
1/2/18
well i got really bad at taking pictures and i wish i would ave continued because it got soon much better than what these show. i just took my last pill! eventually my dermatologist upped me to 40 mg which i was on for probably two months. my lips were constantly chapped and peeling and my eczema flared on my hands and arms but part of that probably had to do with the cold weather and me not moisturizing. tomorrow morning i will take a picture and post it here. the acne is so much better. i still have a lot of scarring but my dermatologist said i couldnt do any sort of surgery for that for a year so next new years! she also said that the accutane will stay in my system for another month so i am hoping that my skin will start to heal better after that and hopefully that will help with the scarring too!

It’s not that Orkid learned to say fu#k you, from someone with a high voice in her hearing range, it’s that she used it properly. And that the other whales don’t seem to go around casually saying it because they totally love learning new things, as when Shouka arrived and her bird calls spread.
Then again her daddy Orky II* helped out with language studies in his day. She gets her body shape and man hands from him.
I’m no closer to figuring out what the Turkey made mill ends were intending to be aside from sock weight. Both were bought with the intention of being doll sweaters so I would have been looking for fine but delicate lace and masculine colors as most of my dolls are masculine.
The top cake is the one I bought full price at the store. Can’t say if it had it’s regular band or a hand written one. Possibly it was purchased as part of a bogo offer as this color scheme wouldn’t have been a first choice.
It did do nice enough on the sock loom that I might make myself some arm warmers or something. Colds will eventually come.
This is the stuff I can’t believe isn’t off color Kroy Sock Effects. There are 8 skeins that pretty much match. 3 had been doubled with a very fine fuzzy brown I put in the pile to make critters from.
A morning of this isn’t working better frog it has finally resulted in a poncho on the size 11 circulars. It’s a shades of light blue cake, possibly a Lion one.
I really really really don’t keep track of and don’t give a shit about ball bands unless they have a pattern on the back or I’m clipping off the photo of what the colors work out to and putting them in my art journal. Anal crafting grandma is dead. Bands get loose, ripped, disappear. The ones with the patterns are in my homemade holder with the hooks, needles, stuff, and little vintage how-to books in one of the knitting project bags.
Once yarn comes in it very rarely seems to go out unless there is a huge GTFO purge heading to be donated to somewhere that could use it.
If sweaters in Hell are made from Red Heart what do they make out of that super itchy polyester crap grandmas leave you in their hoard? It gets made with the rusty hooks she would rather hoard and let go to waste then see someone else use wrong.
And that, dear readers, is why I never really crafted with string in my childhood. Anal grand smother was the kind who would criticize you while you did it then as you slept or went to school have to completely redo it herself because somehow something you made with your tiny child hands reflected on her as a human being.
Sooooooo tempted by some new pink/peach to grey Lion brand cakes. Might have to make an online order as I think I found the blacks to offset those half moon cakes. By themselves they’re too much.
And on the PMLE watch nothing new and putting cream on any spot that starts to itchy burn stops them in their tracks. Which I could have done that for the one on my calf but it’s slowly going away. Now would be a great time to have average blood circulation.

A lot has happened since February Empties! John and I sold our little 2 bedroom house and have renovated and moved to a 4 bedroom-2 story house across town. It’s not that far since West Lorne isn’t that big. The museum I work at has opened for the season and yes I did get my new exhibits installed with 15 minutes to spare. We’ve already had one of our signature annual events and are ready for summer staff at Backus-Page House Museum. So these are my empties from the past 3 months. Normally there would be more but I admit I was doing the bare minimum for skin care and makeup most days. I’ve categorized these into three groups so you can skip around if you want to. I started with what I would recommend buying ASAP, things that were nice but not necessary and then my BUZZ Off rated items which include duds and declutters. I’m done forcing myself to use up products I don’t like or don’t work for me.
BEE Shopping Recommended Products – I will or have already repurchased these.

Avon Senses Body Care Silky Vanilla Hydrating Shower Gel is fantastic. I usually have one of these in my empties every month.
The Body Shop Body Butter in Pink Grapefruit is my new favourite body butter. When I run out I’ll be repurchasing. Hydrates well and the scent lasts all day, but not in a irritating way.

Pert Plus 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner Classic Clean for normal hair is one of my husband’s favourites so we will be repurchasing this. I use it once in awhile if I’m in a hurry.
Dove Dry Spray soothing chamomile scented 48 hr odour protection anti-perspirant was good and it did what said it would for odour protection.
ColourPop SuperShock Shadow in One & Done
ColourPop SuperShock Shadow in Too Soon
Scentsy Sample in Sea Salt Mist
Partylite Scent Plus Melts in Holiday Spice
Scentsy Simply Lemon Bar smells like lemon pie filling! I think that’s all I need to say.
This Tomato Essence Mask was a good sheet mask. I liked it alright and would use another one.
I am a fan of these Hydro Cool Firming EYe Gels from skyn Iceland.
Que Bella is quickly becoming a favourite of mine. This mask left my skin feeling super soft.
I’ve used up a foundation!!! I wouldn’t buy more cushion foundations because I don’t think you get enough uses out of them for the cost. I did like the look and finish of the CC+ Veil from It Cosmetics.
This jumbo bottle of Tresemme Anti Breakage Conditioner took forever to use up. Here’s a tip…if you need to shave your legs or underarms just put some conditioner on instead of a shave cream. It’s much cheaper and works well. I’d buy this in a smaller bottle.
Avon Daily Skin Defense is a good hand cream. We kept this one in the living room for as needed use.
Avon Calming Relief with Oatmeal is great for super dry or itchy skin. Great to keep at the office if you handle alot of paper.
Marcelle Ultra Gentle Cleaning Gel was a good cleanser. It even removed my drugstore mascaras for a one and done face wash. Also fairly inexpensive.

Ultra Repairing Lip Balm is so hard it hurts to apply.
Crystal Waters Cherry Blossom Scented Body Mist did last very long so we used it as an air freshener. I finally dumped out the last couple inches.
M2 Brand Management sent this Weleda Salt Toothpaste to me for free which I appreciate, but I just can’t deal with the salt taste or the gritty texture. I used this three times and that was enough.
Arrow Protect Aluminum Free Deoderant doesn’t keep body odour away for over 4 hours. Even reapplying doesn’t help so this has to be decluttered.
Anothe declutter is this PUR-est Lady Stick Clear Formula Deoderant which I think comes from Dollarama. It does nothing to control body odour.
M2 Brand Management also sent this Lafe’s Bliss Iris & Rose Aluminum and Propylene Glycol Free Deoderant. I liked it at first until we had a warm spell and by the end of a work day it wasn’t deoderizing. Declutter.
This Nivea All in One Facial Cleansing Lotion does not remove makeup, especially in the eye area. It’s an OK cleanser to use in the morning which how we used it up but I don’t recommend it.
