Hey Tumblr friends! I hope everyone is having a good week so far!

I downloaded this remake of Bridgeport world from a friend on Facebook! They posted it in a group I'm in, so I just wanted to talk about how AWESOME it is! They did a great job making this world!

I love that some of the lots are un-furnished! Right now I am decorating this mansion and it sooo big. There are so many rooms, I don't know what I'm going to put in all of these rooms! I would love to hear some ideas!

The owner of this mansion is Bruce Vayne. I made him a single vampire sim who lives there with his butler and pets.

I'll post more pictures in my next post. I have a lot of photographing to do, this world is incredible!

hey friends! i was unable to post all of my early access content bc i'm sick. but i was able to post this video, which in my honest opinion are the major features in this 'romance' pack.

IS IT WORTH $40?

DEPENDS ON HOW BADLY YOU NEED THESE FEATURES TBH.

this review is brought to you by the ea creator network. all of my opinions are my own. i must disclose this per FTC guidelines #ad.

*i do not cover everything in the pack, only the things that stood out for me lol. i'm sorry i'm not used to doing full reviews up here

the attraction system is helpful and expands dating (which is great, but we've had mods that could do this for some time: pick your poison). the romantic satisfaction is the star here. i love being able to create one sided relationships and actually take care of our romantic relationships with sims. this is a valuable feature for me!

cupid's corner is a nice "hey i don't need this mod" anymore type of feature. prior to this i was using lumpinou's meet & mingle which allowed me to meet with sims (platonic and romantic). i dislike that you can not write custom bio's for your sims. i love the way the app functions, i love saving sims and adding them to our rel. panel - and getting to know them through the phone first. i wish we could've defined our sims favorite music/foods/color etc.

i'll admit it, i'm a sucker for dynamics. family dynamics from the sims 4 growing together are so good (minus the fact that everyone wants to be f*cking jokesters after one joke lol). but i love them! they really do impact my sims relationships. the different romance dynamics are interesting. for example: a strained romance dynamic makes it VERY hard for your sims to communicate. it's like your sims will randomly hug each other, but then 5 secs later they're upset. they want to love each other so badly but they can't lol.

now onto random things that excited me. you can go to cupid's couples counseling. i did not know we'd actually be able to answer questions. these sims had a strained romance dynamic and it was so bad - the therapist suggested we come back. but when i tried to schedule it again, they were booked and i had to wait to schedule another appt. which is great, because in the meantime your sims are going downhill fast and you have to keep the peace until then (if you choose).

there are new pop ups and invites. there's even one for a reality dating show lol. you can turn these off in game settings. (if you're wondering, mr. landgrabb never showed up at the motel he wanted to meet at. he stood my sim up. don't judge me, i thought there was simoleons involved).

new crafted dates are cool. you can choose whatever you want to do on them. there's new social interactions based on the activities you choose. you can also invite other sims to these (double dates woohoo!) you can also create crafted hangouts. i like these, i got this cute picture as a reward after a succesful crafted hangout. if you're familiar with mws weddings, it's the same idea. except this works well and isn't as glitchy lol..

another random feature i never needed, but now i find it useful. you can create your own relationship label that will appear in the rel. panel

it's unfair how gorgeous this world is... because there's nothing to do. this is all set dressing.

you can declare your love here.. at the wall of love.

you can buy flowers or edible sweet treats at this shop in the background.

you can get local food here. there are 3 new dishes and spicy hot chocolate. now, i'm not mexican (the world is inspired by mexico) BUT 3 new foods isn't cutting it for me. technically only 2, because one is a vegan option. no pozole, enchiladas, guacamole, tamales?? i'm a foodie, so i take full offense to that.

you can woohoo or sleep at the motel.

you can travel.

go fishing or enjoy a swim.

sit here and chat.

travel again.

check in a penthouse.

there's a nightclub, gym and lounge. but you get the idea.. there's nothing culturally unique about this world which makes me sad. no festivals? i'd love seeing a mariachi band play at the lounge. something. otherwise, keep the world and add more features right? i would've loved table proposals (sims 2 anyone?). or frisky couch makeouts. so many missed opportunities here.

there's more i could say but i feel like this post should be a little helpful in deciding wether this is a pack you need right now, or wait for a sale! i personally love having a complete colection, so i've always wanted every expansion. though i recieve the pack for free, i owe you my honesty and i want to start doing blog/written content because it's easier to process my thoughts through the excitment. i will enjoy this pack, i do like it, and only time will tell as i integrate it with my current gameplay. i hope this was helpful!

My Lifetime Traits is a mod to assign corresponding personality traits when toddlers grow up to child age. You can still edit the auto-assigned traits in the aging-up UI if you don't like them!

MOVIE LOVER TRAIT BY SASHA'S SPACE

This CAS trait is for sims who love to watch movies. The movies from Movie Hangout and movie theater options from Growing Together are included in this trait. This trait is meant for child sims to elder sims. There are 34 in-game movies, so that means your sims will have 34 wants plus other social-related wants. Thank you so much for supporting my first-ever mod, the love language mod.

Packs Needed: Mostly Growing Together and Movie Hangout, but there are some wants that have Get Famous and one want is from Kids Hangout.

HOW DOES THIS MOD WORK? Your sim will wants to watch movies. For Growing Together’s movie theater wants, the symbol will all be the same. This is also true for Movie Hangouts. IMPORTANT NOTE: Sims who don’t enjoy a movie won’t have a want completed, so I recommend you to cheat it with UI cheats mod. Right-click over the want and complete it like that.

I don't recommend this mod for people who use movie overrides because it may be a bit annoying to keep getting wants on movies you don't have in your game since you have an override. I'll consider making an override user-friendly version for this trait in the future♥

Steam Awards silliness

So apparently the "Steam Awards", which is a thing you may have seen and been very confused about, were a bit of a mess.

Steam basically wanted a to make their own Game Awards which were a voting-directly democratic process.

Naturally people took advantage of this to DUNK on their most hated game developers, rather than throwing a bone to games they actually like.

So, what happened was:

Red Dead Redemption 2 was ironically voted "Best Long-term Support From A Developer" because of how salty the community is about the game NOT recieving any long-term support.

Starfield was ironically voted for "Most Innovative Gameplay". Actual Starfield fans ALSO voted for Starfield in this and all other categories. And Bethesda happily accepted the award despite it being, yknow, a prank.

Hogwarts Legacy was voted "Best on Deck", despite being almost unplayable on deck. After some investigation I have learnt this is because Hogwarts Legacy fans mass-voted their game in every single category, regardless of its efficacy, because they think it is "overhated because of woke gay culture". Steamdeck happened to be the only one not to have had a mass vote for a different game. After those encounters, I am now adding Hogwarts Legacy onto my very small list of "things I will avoid associating with you over if you are into".

People are not sure if The Last Of Us Part 1 really does have "best soundtrack" or if everyone voted for it ironically. I'd say if it was Last of Us Part 2, it'd be ironic, but honestly it's gotta be Naughty Dog fans.

Valve had to act like every one of these was a serious nomination when writing up the reasons for them winning. They couldn't just say "Red Dead Redemption 2 support SUCKS SO MUCH that players voted for it ironically". They had to say "Despite the game being out for years the devs are still supporting their baby". Which is hilarious.

I found an article by Otaku that does a good job of summing it up:

Things get even weirder when you look at the Steam Awards’ selection of finalists in each category. EA Sports FC 24, a soccer game currently sitting at “Mixed” review status, was in the running for Game of the Year and Best Game You Suck At. A sports game is certainly an odd pick for a year otherwise jam-packed with mega releases. And though Baldur’s Gate 3 took home Outstanding Story Rich Game, it was competing with a game called Love Is All Around? Never heard of it? Don’t worry. We didn’t either, until we looked it up. Love Is All Around is a full-motion-video dating sim game inspired by the devs who “want to date every day but will never step out of the house [into] the real world. So yeah if you were wondering how Starfield won most innovative game, that's how.

I took yesterday (and finished this morning) to do something very important: I started, finished and 100% the game Firewatch, lol.

My 100% shelf!

Anyway, Firewatch is a nice, fairly short game, mainly a walking sim but the environments are pretty (though they grow increasingly smoky and orange as the fire spreads). You're not in any danger, though. Here's the Steam description:

Firewatch is a single-player first-person mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness, where your only emotional lifeline is the person on the other end of a handheld radio.

I enjoyed it a lot, though I discovered I truly suck at reading a map and will definitely die if I'm ever lost and alone in the woods with a map and a compass. 😑😂😉

Anyway! You have dialogue options, so you can shape your/Henry's relationship with Delilah over the radio and you also have other options (how much rations to take, etc) that produce various outcomes. Overall though, I found this to be a very non-stressful game and perfect for taking my mind off *waves hands in vague circles to indicate the world* things.

Up next, I think I'm going to double back to Dear Esther and get the last 3 achievements that will 100% that one, then I'm on to another game!

I went ahead the other day and installed The Quarry, so I think that's the next full game I'll be tackling.

I also picked up some new games on sale this past month that I'm looking forward to!

I've wanted to play the Lego Star Wars and Jurassic World games for a long time and this seemed like a great time to grab them! I've heard kinda meh things about the Shadows of Mordor/Shadows of War LotR games but they were, like, $5 together? So I figured I should be able to at least get $5 of fun out of them, right?

I wasn't sure about Kingdom Come: Deliverance but I read a review where someone said you can play the game by ignoring anything you don't want to do and just wander around, appreciating the incredible environments. Personal Review: I just started this one after being on the patreon for a while, and I love it. The stories are so well written and as I wrote in an episode review: Dom's main talent has always laid in their ability to tell a story that everyone can relate to, but is more than a simple "i can relate" to some. This episode does just that.

Personal Review: The storylines weave together wonderfully and manage to, in a story about creatures and those more than human, touch on the human story.

Personal Review: I haven't completed this one, but so far I love the story. Just when you think you have it figured out, no you don't.

Although straight, he (jokingly, but also not) likes to consider himself as "metrosexual". Takes much pride in the fact that he puts more effort into his looks than most of his peers.

He is SO. EXTREMELY. BAD. at lying. Literally almost never able to hide stuff, constantly bubbling like a fountain of truth. The only aspects he's kinda good at hiding are some remnants of the trauma he's experienced during his late teens/early twenties.

Writes the most annoying reviews you could think of whenever he buys something online and shares his experiences with the thing in question. At least he is honest, right?

Though he's a pretty good driver, it would be healthier for him if he simply wouldn't. The road rage he experiences sometimes can be off the charts, and even if he doesn't hurt other people, he legit is at the risk of a cardiac arrest due to his built up energy at times.

Always thinks about more methods of earning money + securing his & his families futures. Besides some of the active work he does, he's trying to write cookbooks and self-motivational guides as a side hustle.

Got married when she was 29 years old, to the love of her life, named Mateo. He was her first boyfriend, and although it was a bit of an on and off relationship at the beginning, she wouldn't ever wish for another husband.

She's a loving mother to two toddlers (which coincidentally also are twins, just like Julieta herself), her daughters Maria and Gabriella. Would burn the whole world down for their wellbeings.

it's funny how often Persona 5 gets referenced by mainstream journalists comparing other RPG's. I mean, it's not it's frustrating, but it's funny because of just how little impact Persona 5 has had from a design perspective?

Like the impact of Persona 3 and 4 was pretty massive, and JRPG's started transitioning to inclusion of life/dating sim elements en masse by 2013, 3-4 years before Persona 5's success. Persona 5's combat certainly hasn't influenced anything. The story is pretty original I haven't seen anyone try to copy the whole "changing hearts of those in power through psychological dungeon crawling". But funny enough, Falcom's pretty blatant Persona rip-off Tokyo Xanadu launched a year before Persona 5. Tokyo Xanadu features a supernatural world existing parallel to Tokyo and generally each arc of the game involves beating a dungeon in that area and some peoples mental states impacting how that dungeon looks or what it means to the story. Their secret organization trying to stop these Twilight dungeons use special phone apps to do stuff. It's not enough that I'd say Persona 5 is ripping anything off at all, but just that even Persona 5's story ideas were already being ran around in games that were already ripping off Persona 4. We got our latest reviewer comparing Trails into Daybreak into Persona not for any gameplay reason but for saying its cat-themed phantom thief character is clearly inspired by Ann from Persona 5. And like, maybe they don't know Trails has had phantom thief characters since the first entry in 2004. Maybe they don't know about classic Jump manga Cat's Eye which ran in 1981. Maybe they don't know about fucking.... Catwoman from Batman who has been around since 1940. But like if you can count on one hand how many JRPG's you've played and the most recent one is Persona 5, you should definitely play more. I mean Persona 5 is pretty good, but there's a lot more out there that are pretty good too. But uh, if not, just know that the only thing Persona 5 influenced was acid jazz knowledgeability among weebs.

Lvl 3: How to Mod the Sims for Diverse Gender Representation

In my last blog post, I wrote about how recently the Sims 4 has made great progress with gender inclusivity. But today I wanted to discuss how mods and cc (custom content) can improve these features.

So, let’s get into it :)

Quick Download Tutorial

Installing mods for the Sims 4 on Windows is quite easy :)

First, you have to pick out the mod or custom content that you want. Most creators use SimsFileShare or their Patreon to store their mod files. Follow the ‘download’ button and your file will appear at the right of your screen.

Then as it downloads, open up your file and click on Documents, then Electronic Arts, then The Sims 4, then that will lead you to your Mods folder.

You will then click your downloaded file and drop it into your mods folder. For custom content, I organize my files into categories like hair, makeup, and outfits. However, for mods, you should just drop it in because layering files might cause the mod to break.

Then, boot up your Sims 4 and click Options on your main menu. This will open your settings and you will click Other, and check the box that says “Enable Custom Content and Mods.”

Then, restart your game, and once it is loaded back up, a mods folder will open up and list the mods you have in your game!

Queer Mods

Some of the best mods for gender representation in the Sims 4 are:

Lumpinou’s LGBTQIA+ / Gender & Orientation Overhaul Mod

Meep62’s Ingame Gender Transition Mod

PimpMySims4’s LGBT Mod

Zero’s Hormone Replacement Therapy Mod

Lumpinou’s mod encourages players to free their sims from the binary and is a fully customizable mod that expands the base game’s gender and sexuality features. It’s massive and allows players to make incredibly queer sims AND queer spaces with the LGBTQIA+ lot trait.

Meep62’s mod allows players to realistically represent their sims transition without enabling cheats and going into CAS. Through gameplay, players are given options to undergo gender affirmation surgeries, take hormones, and take voice training.

PimpMySims4’s mod is very similar to Lumpinou’s, where it expands on current gender and sexuality features, but this mod adds in LGBTQIA+ events like charity events, protests (City Living Expansion pack is needed), and queer gatherings.

Zero’s mod implements Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) where sims can get prescribed hormone medication, which impacts the sim’s moodlet buffs, their ability to gain and lose weight, and their appetite.

Custom Content

The world of Sims 4 custom content is MASSIVE. For this post, I will only focus on custom content that improves diverse gender representation. Here of some assets that I thought were cool:

Although there is MUCH more to explore when it comes to the world of Sims 4 custom content, these are the ones I thought were some I’d add to my game in the future :)
