Anyway, design process

I used VERY MINIMAL inspo from finnish n Nordic fisherman/general outfits for his outfits, mostly in the use of leather and burlap

For his human design I just wanted him to be dorky and kinda scrappy looking, clearly made or edited by his own hands. He has a knitted cod hat and a hand-woven dyed rope belt that doubles as a fish net, and ofc a bottle or two of slime tying it together

For his fish form. I based the cod head part on a mix of Cod (duh), dunkleosteus, tiger sharks, and minimally on lion fish. The tail is a combo of fins and a shark tail, along with boney scales and sharp spines. He's very tough and durable

Ofc he also grew arm fins and his feet became more creature-like. Crechur

I also imagine that, while not immune to damage, he's very resistant to it (and resistant to cold :))

Also this is HC-y stuff but I imagine that Jimmy, as a sea God, represents very different things than Lizzie. Lizzie represents more of the Idea of the ocean, it's vast power and danger, the storms it makes, etc

Whereas Jimmy represents the interconnectedness of sea life and the life cycles, I'd even argue he's lowk a land-god rather than specifically a sea God and I KNOW cod are salt water but. He's so freshwater coded srry abt it 😛 he is a being of change first and foremost

Even tho he's a being of change tho he dislikes industry as he believes it is inorganic and ruins natural effort and stuff. Same with magic, there is nothing a spell can do that your own hands can't do better. Also magic hurt Scott so he don like it 😔

SOURCES OF INSPIRATION: music, silly nonsense, tiktoks, curiosities, honestly idk adhd has it pulling form 80 different places at once while pulling from seeming nothing at all. it's like a bunny being pulled out of hat.

STORY BEHIND URL: matt is a technician! easy peasy and simple. ( it's legit the most basic i could get & i love it bc its easy to remember. he's just some technician. not even a radar tech! this could count as a droid tech too! )

Okay so it's not just an obsession w/ wheatley

aCK im lonely so I'm just gonna talk about the cores from portal because I love them all so much

wheatley- amazing, great, outstanding character and also a representation of me trying to explain Kirby lore all the time, I mean like the blabbering part. cuZ like, I do that! I also stutter a bit but that's because I have cool kid syndrome

... wheaty boi doesnt know about Kirby, although I think he would like it. He's represented really well on every platform, in harry10UK's animations (especially in Harry's voice which naturally sounds like Wheatley.), Lego dimensions, and even in that musical.

space core- really great, happy boi, magically not annoying or milked, I'm so glad he got to live his dream. only issue is in Lego dimensions he's actually annoying and I didn't know that was possible because I loved him so much. I also watched the entire portal 2 musical about 2 times and I think he's portrayed really well but, that energy is kinda gone still. perfect in Skyrim tho

fact core- fact- The fact core is so much funnier when you can process what he's saying. in the musical I just wanted him to talk the entire time, which is weird because in the game I got bored of it really fast. But, know I've come back around to him, he's hilarious.

Adventure core- this BOI! he has the belts! All of them! They're for him! in the bedroom (ooh). Rick is a adventureous boi and I love him akahdjk

Okay so I accidentallydeleted everything here so I'm just going to go over everything really quick I'm really sorry I'm so sad I wrote so much here AAAAAAGHHGG mobile is shit.

Ray- imagine Space core but he's a lot more chill, if he could ever be. he loves doing experiments on sharks and sharks with lasers and his voice is really screechy and I love it and he probably sings lullabies to his sharks at night. great character, can't wait to see more of him in the future.

virgil- pretty cool dude. I don't really know what He's supposed to do but I really love his design. He's so colorfullll and it's great. In the games from he just like helps u because he wants your help and then he is good to you because he is. In Harry's vids he repairs cores a lot and I wish him the best of luck with this.

Chuck- space cop. Okay so maybe he's not a space cop, but he's a cop nonetheless, because apparently there's laws and a criminal system where all these cores are. can't blame him, He's just doing his job. You go Chuck, arrest all those criminals!!!

Glitchy- he is a very good boy who is trying to find the meaning of life. Maybe it's flying, maybe it's knitting, maybe he's a mascot at Disneyland, he doesn't know, and he's trying to find his purpose to life. I wish I could tell him that his purpose is to be loved by me because I love him

ego (Onathan) (this is the third time I had to write something for him so I want to keep it short and concise) - really great and pretty he deserves all the hats. Oh so he gets super drunk at the bar and then Chuck tases him and then he falls into a duplication machine and then there are like a billion of him just complimenting each other it's great. 

rainbow core- this is what happens when people on this website makes a core for portal. no but, seriously, Virgil and him belong together and I hope for them the best. 

I'm going to try doing the trivia again because this is where I lost all of my texts 3 different times
