Today I will be introducing my latest project I've been working called Variations of Dove. It's basically Dove but she is in a different fandom and there's a lot of fandoms that I'm in so we'll just go straight into it-
Starting off we have No Straight Roads Dove, who is a 25 year old ballet dancer to moved to Vinyl City after the Music Revolution and currently resides in the Natura District. She has a crush on Zuke-
Balan Wonderworld Dove is known as the Maestro of Wonder and was once an inhabitant long ago. She is love with Balan and wishes to impress him with her magical abilities.
Hifi Rush Dove may be wheelchair bound but that won't stop her from helping in anyway she can in taking down Vandelay Co with her friends. She is mainly fond of Chai since she likes him as more than just a friend...
Dove's abilities as a powerful physic has certainly caught the attention of the Psychonauts and they seek to recruit her. Her powers are precognition, psychometry, psychic reading, and astral projection.
Shortly after the overblotting incident involving Jamil, Dove was transferred from her all girls school to Night Raven College in a deal arranged by her father, Kalim's father, Jamil's parents, and the Headmaster. As a shy first year student, Dove slowly starts to find confidence in herself and develops feelings for her dorm leader Kalim...
Princess Dove is the ruler of the realm of Lan di Journ and as her title states she loves being an artist and enjoys painting any beautiful scenery. If she is not chosen as the player's queen then she will marry Ramone the Bard Prince instead.
Dove was born 10 years later after the birth of the 43 children on October 1st 1989, but she was able to become the Divine Servant of the 7 Gods who rule the world. In exchange for Dove's servitude and loyalty, Mother Earth and the 6 other gods crafted the Crown using a fraction of their powers which once placed on Dove's head gave her the power to see the past, present, and future which upon touching an object she will see everything that the Gods desire to know...
Hearts and Heroes Dove joined the Hub in the events after Pax East, and became a very powerful Light Mage as she went on missions to save those trapped in their nightmares.
Dove moved to Stardew Valley and settled in her grandfather's old farm in Pelican Town and quickly got the hang of farming and raising her favorite animals: chickens. Eventually Dove would marry Sam and bring him to her home to start their family and raise more chickens.
Long ago the 4 clans of the Utau Trolls were at war since the Emperor had died without an heir. This war however awoke a very dangerous monster with a hunger to eat the Utau Trolls, but just when all hope was lost, Hato sang a lullaby to seal the monster away and put it back in it's deep slumber, saving the entire race of the Utau Trolls. Because she had saved them, the Utau Trolls crowned her as their Empress, and thus started the royal bloodline that has ruled since then. Princess Roa is Hato's great x5 granddaughter and will soon become the next Empress...
Light Maiden Cookie is a sweet cookie that sees the beauty in just about anything, from the simplest flower to the strangest of objects. Her heart belongs only to a very special someone called Dragonfruit Cookie (my partner's oc)
I hope you guys enjoy!

Stardew Valley 1.6 Planning
I've played a little bit of Stardew Valley (mostly on my mom's console - just got the game myself last week!) and I'm definitely more of a roleplayer than anything else.
Wall of text below as I brainstorm my next farmer.
My first and current file, my farmer is bi and may or may not be a dragon in disguise. She's got purple hair, loves fishing and collecting animals, especially dinosaurs. She wants to turn her farm into a complete dinosaur farm once she has the flexibility to specialize. Dating-wise, she started befriending Penny and Elliot, but wasn't really into the sensitive types. So she started befriending Alex and Maru. She's officially dating Alex now and got 10 hearts - I still need to get there with Maru before making the final decision. I don't have the Community Center complete or any of the postgame unlocked, so I could have a ways to go.
But for 1.6, ConcernedApe suggests to start a new file, so I'm brainstorming her character. The things I already had in my wishlist for a second playthrough were: 1) Marry Elliot. He didn't fit with my first farmer's personality but I like him, so I'm going to build a character that likes him. 2) Get the dog as the pet since I got a cat the first time.
Springing from there, the next farmer is a girl again because I'm a girl and prefer to roleplay as one if given the choice. She likes books, and her favorite ones take place on a farm. Is there a genre for that? I don't know but she does.
Her life so far has been stressful. Her legal name is Embursleigh Cleopatra [lastname]. Naturally, she hates it and goes by Em or occasionally E.C. Her parents divorced when she was young, and the crazier side of the family got custody. She escaped as soon as she could and staked it out on her own, getting a decent job at Jojacorp to pay the bills while she figured her life out.
Grandpa is from the side of the family Em barely knew. I can't say why Em was chosen to inherit the farm - perhaps Grandpa knew of her predicament? Maybe she was the only grandchild? Whatever the case, the letter ended up in the hands of the crazy parent and was not sent along until her half-sister, who was in light touch with her, found it and forwarded it.
Em, of course, jumps at the chance to start her dream life.
On the farm, Em is a decorator. She loves plants, especially flowers and vines. She loves the cottagecore aesthetic. She's not huge on animal husbandry, but really likes chickens well enough to raise several.
She's also pretty contrary, and will become close to Shane and Hailey first, taking their standoffishness as a challenge. She'll even date Shane, but will recognize some of the patterns from the bad part of her family and will break up.
Outside of Shane/Hailey, I'll be having her naturally meet the others. She won't go out of her way to talk to anyone else, but will integrate herself into their friend groups as they meet up. I'll see how naturally she ends up meeting Elliot, especially since he doesn't really hang out in town.
I don't know how much I'm going to stick with this, but I intend her to focus on farming, foraging, cooking, and decorating and less on manual labor and fishing. She'll keep her farm clean and clear, but won't go out of her way to gather materials. She'll prefer to buy raw materials from the shops than to get it herself. She will inevitably have to branch out to complete her goals, though. Especially since I think I'll strive towards Perfection. And the fact that she likes nature and greenery so she will absolutely go the Community Center route rather than Joja.
I am still deciding which farm she should be on. It's between Standard, Forest, Four Corners, and the mystery new one introduced in 1.6. Leaning towards Standard at this point, though. The clean slate, and the fact that Em's aesthetic is pretty homogeneous so I don't need the separation of Four Corners. I did Hilltop for my first file.
Mechanically, I am also disallowing myself from reading the Wiki until I am at least on year 3. I don't want spoilers for what's new in 1.6. I will be taking notes where the game doesn't, such as making a fishing log and monster/material manual to figure out where/when I got things and can find them again if necessary, as well as taking notes on what the library books and other hints let me know that I haven't explored yet.
Unsure if I want Em to have kids. I think it's within her character, but I don't like that they're just walking hat stands. Maybe 1.6 adds more to them? It's not been hinted, though.
Am I overpreparing? Maybe. Will I actually stick to this and not do my normal messy whatever? Who knows! But I am looking forward to 1.6 and especially when it comes to Switch, since that's where I have Stardew Valley.

Shane x Farmer
First fic in years...I'm quite rusty. Stardew Valley inspired me to write again. Love that chicken boy.
1100 words.
---
1:10 p.m.
Gem in hand, you’re walking down the stairs next to Pierre’s, heading for the Saloon. As you pass the Mulner’s, your elbow brushes against one of their plants and sends a shock right to your neck. You brush your elbow, wincing, and proceed to ignore it. Rounding the corner, you swing the Saloon door open, first seeing Gus, then Emily.
“Hey Gus! Emily, hey, I found something in the mine!” You skip over to the counter, pulling your hand from your pocket and unveiling a dirty, green gem stone. Emily whirls around to face you from the sink to the counter, and her eyes lock in on your hand, her eyes growing a bit.
“Oh my! That looks like emerald!” She exclaims, snatching it from your hand to carefully look it over in her own.
“I thought so! Yeah, when I saw it I immediately thought of you,” you say, the corners of your lips tugging upward as you see the excitement in her voice. A small slurping sound catches your attention, and your eyes dart around the Saloon briefly to identify the noise. It’s so early, people aren’t normally at the Saloon at this time on a Wednesday. Your eyes stop at Shane. Well, you suppose, that makes sense.
“Oh this is one of my favorites! What a great find!” Emily has been going on about the gem for about a minute before she finally sets it back down on the counter in front of you. You turn your attention back to her, and shortly push the emerald back towards her.
“You keep it! I wanted to give it to you, you’re way more into this stuff than I am,” you say with a smile, and Emily’s eyes light up.
“You’re awesome, farmer. I can’t wait to clean this baby up and put it with the others. It’s quite a bit smaller!” Emily takes the gem in her hands and turns towards the sink, beginning to rinse it.
“No problemo!” You push yourself away from the counter and swing around to look at Shane. You hold one hand up in a somewhat half-wave. He’s staring directly into his full beer, not meeting your gaze at all. You’re unsure if he sees you or not, so you meander over and softly say “uh, hey Shane.”
The farmer. His attempts at pretending he has no idea you’re there have failed, and now you are interacting for the second time this week, and it’s only Wednesday. He lifts his eyes lazily to acknowledge your presence, then back down again. You sit down at the seat closest to where he’s standing up against the wall and rummage through your pocket. He lifts his eyes just a bit again to see what you’re doing, unusual of you not to just launch into the questioning phase. His eyes follow your hands in your pockets, until they reveal a small pepper.
“By chance, I have this pepper! Uhm- someone told me you like peppers, and I just harvested the first of the bunch this morning, one of the first summer crops, and I happen to have one and uh-yeah-so here ya go!” Your hand outstretched, he lowers his beer a bit and stares at it. You hold your hand out a bit farther, “I initially took it to the mines with me as a bit of a pick me up, y’know, kinda zap me into focus! Weird logic, whatever, I didn’t end up eating it and you’re here. So. Take it.”
He grabbed it from your hand and shoved it in his sweater pocket, mumbling “uh, fine. Thanks I guess. I do like peppers." Your eyes light up and he immediately looked back down into his beer.
“Oh good, I’m glad. Hey Gus, can I get a beer here, too, please?” You waved at Gus, who nodded briskly. “I’ll have plenty more where that came from!” You chuckled softly, touching your elbow. You winced once more, a quiet sound escaping in the process, and this caught his attention. He locked in on the gash on your right elbow and his eyebrows raised. Gus slid the beer next to you, “thanks.”
“Not that I care, but are you okay?” He asked. It was probably the first sign of compassion you’ve seen from him yet, and you couldn’t help but smile.
“Yeah, totally fine. No worries. Happens all the time. I fell, like a goof. Uhm, that’s actually why I’m here already, so early in the day. I usually spelunker down there for quite a bit longer, but I was just a bit…tired today.”
“Because of the wound?”
“Kind of.”
“That…looks pretty nasty. Like legitimately gross.” He had been staring at it the entire time, not even taking a sip of his beer. You clasped your hand over it and turned away from him.
“Yeah, you know what-I uh-should actually probably get it checked. Sorry to dip out on you so quickly. Here, take my beer.” You fumbled for some cash to put on the table, then slid the beer to the edge of the counter, towards him. He looked at the beer, then back at you. “I’ll see you around, ok? With more peppers,” you smiled, giving him a small pat on the arm as you hopped off the stool. He furrowed his eyebrows as his gaze followed your figure out the door. “Bye Gus, Emily!”
“See ya, farmer!”
“Good luck out there!”
He pulled the pepper from his pocket and eyed it carefully. He could already feel Emily’s stare as she waltzed over to him. “What?” He hissed.
“A pepper, huh? I got a gem,” she winked, leaning over the counter to get a better look.
“Yeah, and I wonder who could’ve told her I like peppers,” he shot his eye at her, shoving the pepper back in his sweater pocket.
“Oh, probably Jas or Marnie, they love to talk about you!” She cackled, slamming her hands on the counter, causing Shane to flinch. He sighed and set his now empty glass on the counter, pulling himself into the seat you were initially in. He wrapped his fingers around the handle of the glass you left him and stared into it. She pushed herself up from the counter, “you’re gonna have to start being a bit nicer, you know.”
“Says who?” He didn’t even bother to lift his head to look at her. He already knew she had that playful, mischievous look on her face.
“No one I suppose. But I would, if I were you,” she turned from him.
No one said he had to start being nicer. His right hand was still in his pocket, holding onto the pepper. He thought of the farmers wound. He wondered if it would be alright. He lifted the glass to his lips.

Random fact: I grew up on a farm, and among the list of animals we used to raise are sheep, goats, horses, and ostriches. The ostriches were a result of my uncle’s midlife crisis, and they all died by the time winter came because, uh, ostriches aren’t built to survive New York winters.
Aesthetic: I love witchy flannel vibes but also fall sweaters and flowing dresses. My style changes a lot lately.

What’s up gamers!!! Our fourth episode plowed through the chaos of thanksgiving holidays and is Here w/ some Facts and Opinions about creating shit and being LGBT and how being LGBT influences creating shit. HEADS UP we recorded this while I had a cold so my voice is probably a little off, but ik Isaac put SO much work into the editing so it would be ready on time and we have recorded statements from some amazing artists (transcriptions under the cut below!) & this is honestly one of my favorite episodes we’ve done so far, so give her a listen if you’re gay or enjoy fun things!
BIG thank you once again to everyone who participated in this month’s episode!! Your contributions are so valued and so beautiful!!
You can find us on the Itunes Podcast App/Webpage at Gay As In Stupid Podcast! You can also find our episodes uploaded to Youtube and Soundcloud!

Aaron’s 2018 November Recs!
Alok Alok Vaid-Menon is one of my favorite poet/activist/performance artists out there! Their writing and stage presence is gorgeous and witty in a way that’s SO clever and still feels like you’re in a room trading jokes you don’t need to explain with your closest trans friends. The way they balance their art creates a real, deeply touching experience that feels very essential to our world.
Miles (2016) Miles is set in 1999 and is a coming of age story about a gay teenager trying to get a volleyball scholarship for college in Chicago. It’s not revolutionary and it’s not over the top dramatic, but it’s funny and honest and it makes me feel nice. Definitely the movie to watch when you’ve just been through something emotionally taxing and need a light crying session and some mediocre pastries.
Isaac’s 2018 November Recs!
The Adventure Zone I know half of you already kin the Mcelroys while the other half either don’t know or don’t care, but the Adventure Zone is one of my most favorite things in the world. It’s a DND podcast (yes, all episodes are transcribed, and they have a graphic novel for the first arc of Balance with a second one on the way!) by three brothers plus their dad, and not only does it have the most amazing story and is ungodly funny, but TONS of gays (Griffin went ape with those Lesbian NPCS)! And just because they can! Same with trans characters. It’s a story where they just exist, and that’s really important to me because in a lot of media LGBT have to almost prove why they deserve to take up space. And it’s not just something that goes on in their first campaign, Amnesty also has those sweet sweet gay! I could talk about this podcast for hours, so if you needed that final push to give it a listen, THIS IS IT!
Stardew Valley You get to farm and be gay. And if THAT hasn’t sold you on this charming video game, then maybe the super cute graphics, beautiful soundtrack and a handful of interesting characters will! TBH I spend so much time playing this game it’s concerning. It’s just such a fun way to relax, and I just really REALLY like video games were I can chose to be gay. Like. God Tier. YOU CAN HAVE CROPS AND CHICKENS AND BE GAY C’MON YALL!!
The Amazing Quotes And Artists Featured!
Meg | instagram | esty
“My identity as a bisexual woman influences my art in many ways. As a woman, i create art about the issues that effect me, such as abortion and gender equality, in order to resonate with the people that matter most to me. As a bisexual individual, my subjects often appear from a gaze that falls outside of the stereotypical eye. My figure drawings and portraits all come from a place of admiration, and don’t fall into the stereotype of the male gaze or womanly care- they are the space inbetween, equally sexualized and normalized. I feel lucky to be a bi gal in the art world because it is a place that is my own to create in. There are so many queer artists that i look up to such as Mapplethorpe and Warhol, and many female artists i can cite as influence (Jenny Holzer, Kiki Smith, and Louise Bourgeois to name a few). My identity gives me a whole new world of content to draw from and allows my work to resonate with a wider audience, and I really think that any artists goal is to reach and touch as many people as possible.“
Cameron | twitter | instagram
“I don’t think that it influences the form really, but it definitely influences the subject matter! (Much as I hate to admit it, my identity influences the majority of choices I make in life.) I write a lot of poems about lgbtq related things and religion, as well as other stuff too. I was raised catholic, so realizing that I was “different” at more than one point in my teen years was scary AF. Being a member of the lgbtq+ community and also trying to still feel like I belong, or wanting to, in a religious community is hard, the two things are usually at a crossroads in my life so writing about them makes it easier for me to get through. My hope is that someday someone reads what I wrote and finds some peace in their own life/experience.”
Vince | art instagram
“Well, being transgender I feel like I’m constantly aware of the lack of representation of my community, and I feel like it might be because of that I tend to experiment with showing all sorts of different type of people in my work. Because there’s so much diversity in the world, why not showcase that?”
Fox | art instagram
“Oof…I’m gay so my characters always be gay. Gotta Fill the void in media w my own bullshit so I don’t have to rely on straight showrunners who will inevitably discard the character since they themselves seem to have no personal attachment and treat lgbt characters as disposable extras. Bc if I don’t at least attempt to create representation in the field I’m going into then I can’t rlly complain about the lack of it right? If I don’t try and change it I can’t complain about the lack of change so being an lgbt artist is lowkey Big Pressure to be revolutionary in your work but sometime…..I just wanna draw funkey animeal and that’s aight too”
Jen | twitter | instagram
“As a female bisexual poet, I worry often that my poetry and art will be too niche to be appreciated. I’ve spent years editing my poetry down to its barest bones in hopes that someone will relate to it. Changing pronouns back and forth because I worry that if I do talk about a woman, the poem will be stripped of its context and suddenly be about my queerness when in reality it never was. When I write about love and people I have dated and have crushed on, I want the poem to exist outside of the gender of who I love. I fear my authorial death will result in a complete misinterpretation of what I mean. When I write, it truly does not matter to me if I am writing about a woman or a man. If I feel what I write and I can make someone else feel it too does it matter that I also love women? I write what matters to me overall, regardless of gender, I try to make my poetry as true as possible. Sometimes, when I catch myself over editing I try to take myself back to the moment, to the person, what I loved about him or her. “
Lain | art instagram
“My LGBT Identity has significantly impacted almost all of my art, especially my work over the last two years. Ever since I have allowed myself to accept that I am trans and began my transition (6 months on T!), the impact that my Roman Catholic upbringing has had on my bisexual trans identity has bled into my artwork. Because of the way I was raised, accepting and allowing myself to be authentic has been an upward struggle. And what better way to process and document struggle than art?
Much of my recent work has had a focus on the trans body, particularly the “sanctity” of self-actualization and the god-like power that comes with accepting and creating yourself in the unique and exceptional way that LGBT people must in order to live authentically. Two of my pieces on this topic were actually recently exhibited at UWM in the Trans-lucent exhibition, and will remain there until December 15th (I think). I got sick and tired of never seeing trans representation, so now I am creating that space that I crave in my own work.”
Kobe | instagram | soundcloud
“My art from is very influenced by my LGBT identity. It is very influenced by my LGBT black Identity. I think that whenever an artist makes their art (in my case writing music, singing, dancing) they should incorporate as much of themselves as possible. I think my LGBT identity definitely adds a sense of representation as well. I want people like me to listen to my music to know they aren’t alone. So it influences my work a lot. “
Nat | art instagram
“I think the fact that I am part of the LGBT+ community influences my art directly. Even though I don’t draw as often as I wish, I believe both my drawings and college projects (I am a 3d art/animation student), and my creativity in general is inspired by my personal experiences as a gay woman and common things experienced by the community. I try as often as I can to bring representation of some kind in the things I do, mainly personal projects. I also feel that it influences me on my motivation to keep creating; whenever I listen to, see drawings, watch movies or see whatever form of artistic expression from LGBT+ artists it gives me the energy to keep going, to keep creating.”

Got tagged by @alcyone2305! This is the 11 Ask thing again but since I kinda already did it, I’m not gonna put the rules here again. What’s (one of) your favorite meal(s) and why? I really like chicken fricassee and lasagne but I also really duck from a chinese restaurant for example. Any aspirations for your future you’d like to share? Uuuh...hmm probably just being able to handle whats coming since theres alot of change and stress on its way and I’m really scared but I hope I can get through it. I dunno if thats really an aspiration though. What’s your preferred way of releasing stress and calming down? Oh god, I don’t really have a method that worked really well for this. Usually everything I try doesn’t really work that well cause I can never get the thing that upsets or stresses me out of my head. So usually I just try to endure until its fixed or until I forget about, which is probably not the best way. Sometimes video games help me to calm down though, Stardew Valley sometimes can help for example. Online games often have the opposite effect though. How much sleep do you usually get? Atm its usually about 8-12 which isn’t that healthy, I guess. I oftenw ake up with a headache or fall asleep again after waking up which usually raises the hours. Sometimes I manage to wake up early but then it’s like too early. I dunno, I need a better sleeping schedule, really. What’s the most expensive investment you’ve made so far? A Revolver Ocelot figure which did cost like, 100€. Sometimes I regret it but it was something I just kinda had to have. And well, I guess some of my consoles but that wasn’t usually all my own money. What was/is your most hated subject at school? PE. For sure. Fuck sports really, I hated it. Atleast our teacher for the first 6 years was really nice and went easy on me but after that, I was literally afraid of it at time and it was so goddamn exhausting and not ok. Math probably. It was sometimes ok, especially cause there was a time were I really tried to get better at but I kinda dropped that again, Are there any people you hold a grudge against? Hmm...not really. There were some douchebags back in my religion class at schoon and some people I just didn’t like in my class but it’s not really a grudge. If you’ve ever been on a trip to anywhere else than your hometown, what was the most interesting aspect of the trip? Mostly the trip itself. Sometimes the location too but I like sitting in a train or bus and listening to music, watching the landscapes go by and daydreaming, that stuff. Do you have any bad habits which might be unsettling to other people? Uff...I dunno I hope not? One thing that might be is that, and its probably a bit embarassing but I usually don’t use doedorant cause when I saw younger I tried it and it like, burned my armpit and that just really scared me. What’s your opinion of tagging games like this one? Oh it’s fun to me and I guess it’s an easy well to just talk about myself. So yeah, I like them!

Top 10 Games I Will Forever Adore
Ever since I was a little kid, I gamed. From small little flash games on Neopets to popular MMOs, to mobile games and old CD Roms, I believe that games will always be a part of my life. However, just like the changing of seasons, games come and go. However, no matter how long it will be, I will never forget these following games.
No spoilers, and also this list won’t go in-depth really. It’s more of a personal journey if nothing else.
10 - Legend Of Zelda: Windwaker
Windwaker was an amazing game back in the days of the Gamecube era. It was released in 2002 December 13th in Japan originally and I was only around 4 years old at the time. My Uncle began to show me games that he was excited to see, so when it came out in late March in 2003, he bought it ASAP.
At first, I wasn’t interested in the game and shrugged it off, but my Uncle insisted that I at least watch him play. And so, I did and became almost mesmerized by the cel-shaded graphics, the toony characters, and the whole environment of the game.
I could never get into the original games because I never saw the point of following a character who can't kill chickens and was just a dungeon crawler (to me at the time), but this game was an excellent introduction into what the Zelda games were about - Adventure, fighting, sometimes stealth, and action! I partially blame this game for my obsession with adventure games now.
Still to this day, I have my save and the game, and go back on it from time to time just to enjoy the game as it were. I haven't gotten the HD remake still, but I might once my disc starts to nope out on me.
9 - Ar:PieL
Releasing around 2015, this game was a dungeon crawler with a quirk: The characters resembled real-life animals, and it had very nice character models that looked very interesting.
If it wasn't for the game below this one, I probably wouldn't of bat an eye at it, but I'm glad I did. The powers each character had felt fluid in battle, and whether it be a difficult boss or just mobs, there was always fast-paced combat and also unique enemies to look at. Each NPC felt very unique with characteristics of animals or other things (like the nurse which looked to be similar to a marionette).
I know, I keep saying that everything looks unique, but it really does. It has a fairy tale vibe to it, it's bright and colorful and chooses to have their darker moments when it does. It's one of those games that makes me want to learn Korean just to read what is going on in the story.
Currently, the game is only out for Korea and Japan, but I hope it does come to NA one day or other places because it's a nice gem in dungeon crawling games.
8 - Rusty Hearts
Before I even poked Dungeon Fighters Online, I looked at Rusty Hearts that came out in 2011 due to the style of the game. Honestly, I don’t remember much from the game except the dark environment and fun fighting, grinding room through room and eagerly waiting to see the next step in the story.
Unfortunately, it closed down 2014, but some people are bringing it back potentially soon. I can't wait until it comes back to feel the nostalgia and the game that began my love for dungeon crawling games in the first place, because for such a long time I just didn't like them and never gave them much a chance.
7 - Momodora Series
Created by r_rdein , The Momodora series in most cases begins in a similar scenario: things are going down and a sacrificial maiden must come to the rescue and save the day in a nutshell. Before it was more pixel-ly, but in the newest game, the graphics are a huge step up.
Combat is simple, but you need to know when to dodge and when to strike or it could cost your life in the game. Each game has something a bit different, but as you play through each one, you can see the quality of games going up relatively well. The difficulty and world-building in the newer game were a nice sight to see, and the earlier games were very difficult but fun and left me a sense of accomplishment with every victory.
Each story was very fun to go through, and I hope there will be more added in the Momodora series, or maybe even a remake of the older ones in the style of Reverie Under The Moonlight. The game’s story and the premise was so simple, but at the same time said so much.
6 - Animal Crossing Series
Oh boy, this takes me back. When this came out in 2001, my Uncle got this and said we could live in a town together when I grow up. Fast forward to 2004, where my Uncle was preparing this town and basically getting a bunch of Bells, almost everything in the town was spic and span. After realizing how much I was getting into adventure games and cartoony games like Windwaker in 2003, he decided it was time to show me this bad boy.
At first, I'm going to be honest. I didn't see the point of the game. It was boring, just planting flowers, working for Nook, and designing your house and clothes and whatnot. However, I kept playing it because my Uncle said it was a relaxing game. When I was upset, I went on and calmed myself down, and suddenly I started getting invested into the characters and environment. When people moved out, I got sad and promised to write them, and I grinded to get weeds out of the town. When the new additions came after, and my Uncle and I played the next one on the DS, it was so cool to catch butterflies and fish and just have a relaxing session from the usual violence or fighting.
But then it would be the last Animal Crossing game I would play with my Uncle. I still go to the original game still and fix the town like my Uncle fixed it back then, and in the DS game I fix both towns. My 3DS game was stolen (along with the 3DS), so I need to get that game again, but this game will always be bittersweet and make me happy to be living a simple and happy life... Until Resetti yells at me for forgetting to save.
5 - Harvest Moon + Story of Seasons/Stardew Valley
As I got into more life-based games, Harvest Moon came to the rescue and allowed me to make my own farm and eventually raise a family. The town was filled with a lot of memorable people - specifically the goddess and also the mayors in the games. Each day was tasking and balancing everyday work and social life felt almost as hard as real life!
The sprites were so adorable, and I loved when they helped out on the farm, but as the later editions of the Harvest Moon franchise came out, the towns began to feel...Emptier... The NPCs a little less memorable. This is where Story of Seasons and Stardew Valley came along, and brought what I remembered and loved about Harvest Moon. In Stardew Valley, it felt a tad more depressing, but both games were a breath of fresh air with their own quirks to stand out and also be fun.
I hope Harvest Moon brings back the feelings that I felt before, because I still like to play the games - whether they be 3D or Pixellated.
4 - Silent Hill 1-3 (3 Specifically)
Showing up in 2003 was a beautiful game I wasn't allowed to play until I was 8 years old. Everyone will tell you most likely about Silent Hill 2 being the best game in the Franchise. I agree, the second one was amazing, but my personal preference favors the third game specifically because of how it connects Silent Hill 1 to their game. As I said up there, I won't spoil, but the imagery and the whole feeling is genuinely frightening and scary, and emits a true sense of danger and paranoia with it's soundtrack, monsters, and even grim cutscenes. The endings are very nicely made along with bosses in the game.
Silent Hill 2 was a great game as well, but the issue with it was that I didn't see an outright connection with the first game. Where the first game told a narrative that was finding your daughter (I'll leave it at that), the second felt more like a question of morality while having self-discovery. Maybe it's just me, but how Silent Hill 3 tied in to the first game is almost seamless after you play through and realize what's truly going on.
The graphics to this day look great, and will forever inspire the horror enthusiast inside of me. As for the HD remake of the game... Er... I don't like to talk about that. It didn't exist guys, mmmkay?
3 - Nier Automata
Woah, a 2017 game on this list? Why so recent?
The Nier series and mixed two of my favorite things: hack-and-slash combat and bullet hell elements. In the newest game, NieR: Automata, it just improves upon that and with the many things I can't give away because everything I want to say spoils a lot of it. It feels like a true steam/cyberpunk game and I don't feel awkward going through hacking games and hack-and-slash combat. The world is small, but is also dynamic and changes so much.
You grow a connection to the world it built, and it questions morality and duty and a lot more regarding humanity, individuality, fear, companionship... Oh, so much I want to tell you about this game but can't. Many will get turned off by the bullet hell mechanics, as well as the style and the appearance of the characters. If you give this game a try though, it's such a trip and I can't wait for the DLC that’s coming out soon~
Why I put this game instead of the original Nier here is solely due to how many questions it put on my morality and humanity, and I felt so much of a connection to this one more than the previous game.
2 - Phantasy Star Online 2 (And other Phantasy Star Games)
Here’s to a game that will never come out in NA! With SEA's server closing down and NA's continuously being delayed, it's more than likely this will never come out officially for us. However, the JP game is there and a tweaker to give us the ability to play and understand most of the game is almost like a breath of fresh air.
The game originally game out in 2012, and what got me so immersed in it was how beautiful the game looked to me. A lot would argue that the game looks outdated compared to games that came out now, especially with hands not having bones or animations really, but you can make a truly different and special character and switch your class at anytime. You aren't bound at all to a class, and there are so many emotes and powers to use. Each weapon is a different playstyle, and you can achieve weapons you can use even if the class isn't your main.
Add to the fact the game is literally an alternate reality and more things story-wise I can't go into right now, it's like a dream game for me. Bosses are immense and tough, and just recently they released level 80 to get to, and the way to uncap yourself from the level before is rather challenging.
In the other games, like PSP, I enjoyed the lore and going to other planets, acting like a galactic pirate CAST (a robot). You can design your room, listen to music, and there's so many collabs and fashion to douse yourself in, now a battle arena, challenge miles, and just a lot to sink your teeth in for a F2P game.
Runner Ups:
Black Desert Online-
A beautiful but heavily grindy game. The combat is probably the best thing about this game, but a lot of things that has happened still leaves me slightly cautious about the publishers/devs.
ArcheAge-
Very original and a great class system, and you could make your own music and sail. My favorite was the ocean creatures lurking in the depths of the sea and surpising you! Similar to BDO, the publishers and devs made me cautious about the game and their business practices left me saddened.
Dark Cloud 2-
A forgotten gem to many, but got me so interested into time travel and effects from past-to-future events. The story and characters were so different at the time too, and was a trip for me.
Touhou-
What got me originally into bullet hell games. The characters are enjoyable to see, the graphics don’t kill my eyes as they spray bullets into my face, and the best girl was in that game: Cirno!
and Amazing Island-
It’s super mario party mixed with pokemon and you could make a lot of variations in the monster creation. I appreciated the game a lot and hope it pops up as a PC port similar to Jet Set Radio.
1 - Mabinogi
What? How is a game from 2008 in first place you ask?
The year was probably one of the worst years for me in my entire life, but still I was drawn to this game. It was early 2009, and I came across this weird game called "Mabinogi." I had no idea what it was about, but someone from Talesrunner suggested it to me. Just at the character creation I felt excited and began my story for my character: An adventurer to save Erinn from all the evil-do-ers. Bear with me, I was a kid at the time. It began with a small roleplaying adventure, but suddenly grew into more than that. Almost like a second life.
As the years continued on, they added so much to the game like guns, ninja gear, a battle bard, things that wouldn't fit anywhere but fit in this game, and you weren't limited to a class. You could learn and do almost anything, and customization kept getting better as well. A large heap of my friends came from this game, and I could never find something to fill the gap that Mabinogi leaves in me every time I try to quit. It keeps bringing me back because of how different the game felt. The story went from cute to intense to weird to a... Shakespeare play? (Yes, that was a thing) There was just so much packed into this game.
When Mabi 2, or Vindictus was announced, I was hoping a revamped version of Mabinogi. Instead, we got... Well, what you know of Vindictus: dungeon crawling fighting game.... A good game, but not at all like the Mabinogi I know and love.
At the moment, a game named Peria Chronicles looks to be the game that might be similar to Mabinogi in some ways, but I'm not truly sure. I genuinely hope that a game like Mabinogi, or a revamp of the game with new-gen graphics shows up and brings the same amazement that Mabinogi brought to both the child and adult me, and I will forever love this game, as it has me in such a tight grasp.
Well, that was my list for my top 10 games I will forever adore. Thanks for reading! This was genuinely so hard to make, because there's so many games I wanted to include into this list (like Portal, for example, or even Nights). However, these games mostly made it to the list because it made a deep personal connection and helped shape me or make me question myself, and I'm happy to be playing these games. I hope that more beautiful games come out, and that there will be more games that will influence and shape me even more.
Do you guys have any games that imprinted on you so much?

Farm Report: The beautiful novelist
Wednesday the 17th of spring. It's another beautiful spring day. The strawberries and cauliflowers I just planted are growing nicely.
The farm won't take much attention from me today, so after watering the cauliflowers I'll be off to spend time with my friends and do things around town.
I check with the Fortune Teller to see what today will be like. The Spirits are determined to make today suck. Well, screw you, spirits. Today, I will make my own luck.
I'll start with a lovely lunchtime picnic with Leah. She set the whole thing up, some lovely food she's cooked and a bottle of my winter crystal fruit wine. Just the two of us spending the afternoon by the river.
Aww, sweetie. You already are real artist. And I may have given you driftwood and other materials, encouraged you, and kept you going with salads and wine I made myself, but the artistic talent is all yours. You did this.
Cuddling and kissing with my woodsy artist girlfriend. Nothing could ruin this moment...
DAMMIT, SPIRITS! You're determined to ruin my day, aren't you?
It's Leah's ex, who just can't let things go, and has shown up to try and get Leah back - or at least ruin Leah's new life in the process.
Now that Leah is successful, and starting to make it for herself, Kel wants her back. Not willing to let Leah be. I'm not sure if Kel genuinely has come to respect Leah's artistic aspirations and wants her back, or is just being controlling and hates seeing Leah independent and successful.
It doesn't matter, because Leah isn't having it. Good for you, Leah. Stand up for yourself.
Kel isn't being reasonable, and I'm pissed at our picnic being ruined.
Theoretically I should take the high road and talk this over ... but I'm a farmer of action. I'm going to just punch her in the face.
Leah is actually a bit shocked at this violence. Though really, there was no ending this scene without violence. If I had tried using reason, it would have just ended with Leah punching her in the face instead.
We go off to seek a bit more privacy and resume our picnic, but the mood has been soured. You win this one, spirits.
After that scene, I stop at Clint to drop off my pickaxe for upgrade. I should really have done this earlier, but I was broke and needed it for the end-of-winter mining push. The next step after this will be upgrading everything to gold, but that may take a while for me to get around to.
As I'm leaving Clint's, I try a bit of fishing in the river. The spirits aren't done with me today, giving me a useless can of cola instead of a nice fish.
Well, maybe it's not so useless after all. I don't know just what rubbing this on a sore back will accomplish, but I may as well put my useless catch to some use. Unfortunately, it's already getting late in the day, and I don't manage to get to Elliott before he's gone home for the night.
Heading up into the mountain area instead to do a bit more late-night foraging, I hear the thrumming of a motor. Sebastian has his motorcycle out, and is just about to head out for a ride.
He invites me to come along. I'm nervous. The spirits have been messing with me all day. What if this ends with us both dead in a horrible crash? Sebastian notices my fear, and promises to protect me. It's adorable, and enough to get me to hop on the motorcycle behind him.
Off we go, riding through the night. It's quite exhilarating.
He brings up to a stop at a cliff, where we can see the lights of Zuzu City off in the distance. Zuzu city, where I once lived, when I worked in a cubicle for JojaMart, before it was all to much and I had to leave for Stardew Valley. It's been over a year since I saw those lights, or thought about that place.
I don't answer him, lost in my own thoughts and reminiscence.
Strange and sad. That place once was my home, and while I miss it sometimes, I wouldn't trade it for a moment for the life I've made now. The simple, pleasant life on my farm, raising crops and taking care of animals. The community I've come to know and been accepted by. The many friends I've made here. Abigail, Penny, Leah, Shane, everyone who I have come to love and be loved by. I dab at my eyes, wiping away the tears that come unbidden.
Thank you for showing this to me, Sebastian. Thank you for reminding me of how far I've come, and how much things have changed in the last year for me.
Yeah. Stardew Valley will do that to you. It's a magical place.
The spirits don't dare ruin this moment. I think they know that if they tried, I would find some way to murder them.
Thursday the 18th. Sebastian has reminded me of where I came from, where I belong, and how far I've come. I go about searching for the chickens in the tall grass with a happy song in my heart. I didn't even bother consulting the spirits this morning, I know that today will be a good day no matter what they think.
I manage to track down Elliott in the general store.
"Hey there, handsome. I got your can of cola. Just ... you aren't planning to drink this, are you? I fished it out of the river."
He takes the can and smiles. "A beautiful specimen of river cola it is! No, I merely wanted it to press against my sore back. The round edges and coldness are quite soothing to the muscles."
Oh, don't think of yourself like that, Elliott. You're awfully good-looking. That counts for something.
Heh. Don't worry about it, you beautiful disaster of a man.
I really am starting to warm to him.
Today, I am taking a trip to the Secret Woods, and this time I'm bringing my sword. There's a lot of good forage in there, and once I've cleared out the slimes I'll be able to explore it at my leisure.
There are a plenitude of salmon berry bushes, and many large stumps to chop up for hardwood. Once the slimes are gone, this place is quite beautiful, and not just because I still well recall the night that Emily and I spent here.
I take a moment to fish in the little pond, and manage to catch the elusive Woodskip. It's a fish that can be found nowhere else, and is needed for one of the community center bundles.
The next morning, I find a letter from Elliott in my mailbox. He's finally finished that novel, and is reading it this afternoon at the museum. Of course I'll be there, I wouldn't miss this.
The Traveling Wagon merchant is still trying hard to sell those tulips, but I spot a far more important item among their wares: a Duck Feather! These are hard to get, I'd normally need to build an expanded coop, get ducks, and then raise their happiness up enough to get them to drop feathers instead of eggs. Why happy ducks shed their feathers instead of laying eggs I'll never know.
I try to get to the museum nice and early, but it seems like the entire town beat me here. I hadn't realized that there was this much interest in Elliott's novel. If this were winter I'd put it down to there not being much else to do, but this is the busy spring season.
Elliott wastes little time. After introducing himself, he launches into his work, a romance novel called 'Camellia Station'.
He's only reading the first chapter, of course. It's entertaining enough, and I'll probably pick up a signed copy from him to read if I ever have a spare moment. Maybe next winter when things are slow.
After finishing the reading, he thanks me for giving him the idea for the novel, and mentions that he's dedicated the book to me. That's really quite sweet. I'm touched, and tell him to meet me back at his place, as I've picked up a special gift for him.
Here you go, Elliott. One "I'm proud of you" relationship bouquet. What, did you think I was going to give him the duck feather? While that is one of his most favorite gifts, I need it for the community center. I can get more of his other favorite gifts, but I might not come across another duck feather for a while.
That's ten. Only Sam and Alex are left, but I really don't think I can stomach giving either of them bouquets.

Stardew Valley (2016)
Stardew Valley is a game I went in to expecting to like. Off the bat, if you love Harvest Moon you’ll most likely love Stardew Valley. Stardew Valley feels like a more update version of the gamecube version of Harvest Moon. I love simulator games, and though people say that it can get repetitive I feel like that’s what makes this game fun. You go through farming in the four seasons, and you can do more than just farm. My favorite part of this game is taking care of and raising my animals. You can have an array of animals ranging from chickens and cows to rabbits and pigs.
This game feels right for all ages, and I’m glad it’s getting high reviews. It feels like a deserving game of the rating. I know most people will rate games highly just because they’re an indie game but this one tops the bar. It has so much to do that you can’t do it all in a day it seems. The best thing to do is to plan out days in the game to do certain things. My favorite thing to do was plant on rainy days then explore the mines. Others have recommended fishing during rain but I felt like exploring was more fun.
I think a good thing is that animals don’t die if you forget or don’t feed them. The only time they can really die is when you leave them out of the barn at night and they have a chance to be attacked by a predator. I heard the chances are low but it really makes you take care of your animals and make sure they are in at night.
The only downfall of the game is that I wish it was easier to find people. I had to use a wiki to figure out where people were sometimes but it wasn’t much of a problem after a little bit of time. I wish there was a little more to do relationship wise, as in making someone like you instead of just constantly throwing stuff at them.
I don’t do ratings on things because I feel they’re unnecessary. However, I would say this is one of my favorite games. I played for maybe a week and had over 60 hours on it. Again, I would recommend it to people that like simulators, and especially people who loved Harvest Moon.
