So, Courtney’s dad absolutely hates Duncan, but he’s willing to go a little easy on him when he’s over for dinner one night.

The meal for the night? Pupusas.

Duncan is so nervous because he already knows how much he needs to impression Courtney’s dad. If anything just to get him off his back for like 15 minutes.

Duncan’s like, “I’m gonna score so many brownie points” (or so he thinks), and grabs a fork and knife to start eating. He’s like “there’s no way he can hate my guts fully if I show some nice table manners.”

Meanwhile, Courtney’s dad is like, “why tf is this punk asshole using silverware!?”

He’ll have to settle for dying the old fashioned way— sober and lonely in some crappy nursing home as Gwen smothers him to death with a pillow.

The court-appointed therapist tells him that gaps in memory are part of the whole Deal— that trauma comes with its own baggage and erasing the past is the brain’s way of protecting itself. He tells the therapist that if that were true, he would’ve forgotten the shape and size of the hole in Damian’s skull by now; that if his brain cared enough to protect him, he wouldn’t have memorized every word of the note his brother left on the kitchen table; that if his memory were so damn fallible , he wouldn’t wake up in the middle of the night trying to wash the memory of Damian’s blood off his hands.
