Remember… one of the reasons I started designing jewellery was to reinvigorate some of the antique jewellery making techniques I had discovered during my time at the jewellery department at Sotheby’s. I wanted to recreate them, but in designs that made them relevant and wearable for women today. The whole idea of creating contemporary yet timeless pieces, designed to be passed down generations, is at the very core of what I do. — Jessica McCormack

Hello, Hello, Hello :),

Time is flying so quickly. It's already February. After a month of Shop the Look, it's time to return to the Soho Set. With part four, I want to pick up on something I wanted to create for the Fayun Set, a modular seating island situation. After further developing the idea, I called it a book lounge, which reminds me of Soho with all its book shops. This Set is also my contemporary answer to the library I created for the Chateau Set :) Spoiler alert: you can mix and match the books from both collections!

The lounge consists of a long Table you can use as a dining table or desk. You can combine it with a seating platform (PSST is a loveseat) and a Ficus planter that slots into the table. The platform has lots of slots perfect for your decoration purposes.

I approached shelves differently this time. For versatility, I separated the poles from the shelves; there are three different height options and two different shelf lengths. They come in metal and wooden swatches. I had quite some fun trying out all the various combinations :) Of course, I filled them with slots until the brim!

No shelves without clutter, I created nine different book arrangements inspired by all sorts of design books. Additionally, I made the Zettel'z Light from Ingo Maurer and had fun creating a painting.

Pantheon Townhouse, Paris, 2019

Bear with me with this one, b/c it has a surprise in the attic. The 19th century Scottish Georgian townhome in Halifax, Nova Scotia, has been completely renovated. The 5bds, 4ba, 3,448 sq ft home is listed for C$1,499,999.

There's a small entrance foyer with elegant wainscoting and original floor tile.

Then, enter a wide side hall with original stair railings and architectural details.

In the large, newly brightened sitting room, the pocket doors, moldings, and fireplace remain. The floors are the original 19th century wood and on all levels have been refurbished.

Check out the eat-in kitchen with the wonderful fireplace.

They kept the fireplace, antique radiator, and wide moldings, but I'm not feeling the Mediterranean tile and ultra modern cabinetry combination.

There's quite a huge laundry room.

The bedrooms are very large. This one was given a skylight and has a fireplace. They painted the original floors up here.

This room has a lovely fireplace wall with built-ins. The floor has an oddly uneven green finish. At first I thought it was green stain, but it's not.

Marble bath with skylight looks like it may have the original sink. I can't believe how gold swan faucets have made such a comeback.

I love the basement b/c it's very original.

Look at those brick walls.

And, this is where 2 of the 5 bedrooms are. These 2 have fabulous brick walls.

The rec room is all new and has a complete kitchen.

But, look at the bath down here. Isn't this cool? It looks like they may have used the original tub and sink from the upstairs bath.

Okay, you waited long enough. Up to the attic to the "tomb room." Artist Michael Lewis painted this Ancient Egyptian-themed room. You'll notice that there's a sink on the right.

There's a sink b/c there's a bath up here. Need to use the shower or toilet?

Just open the Sarcophagus.

The yard isn't very large and it's paved with old bricks, but there's a deck.

I think that's a shed, it's a little small to be a garage.

The semi-detached townhouse is on a 2,295 sq ft lot.

Hello Everyone :),

All good things must end, and I enjoyed creating the SOHO Set, so it was a good thing for me :D. As promised last month, I was working on a Living room Set. I composed it like a kit, and it contains 21 objects. I kept the modern retro vibe I established last month; somehow, that links well to New York/ Soho. Another place that isn't really located in Soho but I like quite a bit is the newly opened Aman New York.

Let's talk about the items; I created Vendome, one of my favourite sofas inspired by Pierre Augustin Rose's sofa. It comes with a matching loveseat and armchair. The coffee tables are inspired by tiled tables from the Aman, but they are also reminiscent of tiled tables you might know from your parents or grandparents.

Another group of items I focused on was the record player, speaker, and record player stand. They bombarded me on Instagram, and I decided to recreate them. :) However, I designed the record player stand, which works well with other SOHO set items.

Additional Items include a free-standing fireplace, perfect as a room divider. It comes in all 3 wall heights, Decor items like rugs and ikebana I once had, a vase, a decorative cushion, and postcards from New York :D.

I hope you will enjoy using this set; if you are into an eclectic look for your interiors, it's quite nice in combination with the chateau and Fayun set:)
