Oooh I have a fair amount of these actually! For one, the weather. In Shapeshifter's city, it's almost always raining so most folks don't even notice the wet. It's when it's not raining that everyone tends to notice. I really like the idea of flipping the general symbolism of 'rain=sad/bad, sun=happy/good' on it's head, so sunny days tend to be the worst ones for the Shapeshifter crew.

I usually tend to equate bright sunlight with bad things in my stories. Personally, I am almost a vampire with how much I will avoid the sun. Give me all the wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and shade you can find. My eyes are very sensitive to light, I burn within 20 minutes of unprotected sun exposure, and I refuse to get heat stroke again goddammit! Give me an overcast, rainy day or a quiet blizzard any day and I'll be just peachy.

Those personal feelings have definitely leaked into my WIPS in various forms. Shapeshifter just has the most obvious version of it lol
