THE RETURN OF TARZAN (1920), starring New York City fireman Gene Pollar as Tarzan, and classical pianist Karla Schramm as Jane.

I find this poster amusing as Tarzan does not appear enthusiastic about dropping onto Numa the lion.

This film, originally a nine reeler, was cut down to seven reels and retitled The Revenge of Tarzan, the title it is more known under, for international release.

Kala (Adoptive Mother of Tarzan): Recommend by yen-sids-tournment. Kala having lost her son in an attack them found a baby whose parents too had been killed and decided to care for him as her own despite what her mate thought about the human baby. She raised and cared and protected Tarzan and taught him to be an ape.

Wendy Darling (Mother of Jane and Danny): Wendy loves her children telling them the stories of Peter Pan and the adventures he has to them. Wendy accepts that her children are to be evacuated and asks her daughter to continue to tell stories to Danny.

jane's dad in tarzan is THE most underrated disney dad for real. he encouraged jane to go back into the jungle and be with her man because he could tell that was what she really wanted AND THEN HE WENT WITH HER. he even casually told the captain of the ship to just tell the people back in england that they got lost in the jungle and were never found. insane of him.

Joe Kubert's fantastic cover of Tarzan battling the Beast Men of Opar for Tarzan (vol. 1) #222 (August, 1973). This was part four of Kubert's five-part adaptation of The Return of Tarzan.

He's very friendly when he's not murdering people like a horror movie.

He has a scar on his throat, one arm, and out of sight on his ribs from a fight with a gorilla when he was 10 that almost killed him. Bitten to the jugular, rib bones visible, arm almost cut off. His foster mom almost starved herself spending so long nursing him back to health because she refused to find food for herself, only for him.

The scar on his head is from a scalp injury later from his foster brother(?). Very basic scribbles here.
