It's rare that an anime ED alone sells me on a show having no prior knowledge of it, but Akuyaku Reijou Tensei Ojisan or From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad's Been Reincarnated is every bit as fun and charming as its ending. Fans of the Villainess subgenre have been eating good recently, but most of the stories don't feature a 52-year old man being the one reincarnated as the titular villainess challenging fate.
Finding himself a new life as the noble Grace Auverne, Kenzaburou Tondabayashi puts his years of experience as a civil servant to good use navigating the politics and school life of his daughter's favorite otome game-- and in the anime ED, tearing up the dance floor to famous historical drama actor and singer Ken Matsudaira's 1994 theater song "Matsuken Samba II", dressed as ostentatiously glittering and golden as Matsudaira himself performing his famous samba singing shogun.

Unfair [Villainess Reader]
Tumblr media
TW⚠️: reincarnation, adoption (technically), mention of time loops, mention of death, mention of neglect, female reader, villainess reader, etc.
A/n: This was inspired by 'What happens to the Villainess'
Tumblr media
Your hands are shaking in anger. This device you were gifted mocked you.
It's unfair.
It's unfair!
It's. UNFAIR!
How come this stranger that took over your original body is having a good life? You spent timeloops trying to have a good relationship with that family and that stupid cheating fiance, and that body-snatcher did it all in one!
And just like that, you threw the device like it was made of hellfire. Your eyes stung, tears threatening to pour out. Body still, like a statue, only for a mere moment until a knock pulled you out of your thoughts.
"I'm coming in." The person from the other side of the door announced.
In comes a middle-aged man with a lab coat hanging from his arm. In your old life he was known as the high priest, in this one you call him dad.
"Knew I heard something." He picks up the phone you threw.
"I was-!" You try to explain yourself, but you got nothing to say in your defense, he already knew.
"I told you that this game isn't good for you." He goes back to homescreen and finds the icon of the game and deletes it.
"Don't make me put on the parental lock." He gives you back the phone. You only look at the device for a second before setting it on the table.
"I think I had enough for today."
"Good." He pats your head. "How about we go get take out?" You nod to the suggestion. He laughs and goes to get his wallet and car keys.
You followed in tow, getting ready two.
As you left your room, the phone you left on the table glows red.

GRACE AUVERGNE / KENZABUROU TONDABAYASHI from FROM BUREAUCRAT TO VILLAINESS: DAD'S BEEN REINCARNATED
Tumblr media
JUSTIFICATION:
"A 52 year old salaryman, Tondabayashi was reincarnated as noblewoman Grace Auvergne while retaining her memories. She still thinks of herself as the man she was in her past life (for now), but excels at everything and seems incredibly happy as a woman. She's already transitioned in every sense but mentally, she just needs that final push." - Anonymous

‧₊˚✧ Being Reincarnated into a New World as the Bad Guy‧₊˚✧
feat: Trey
genre: slow burn, coworkers-to-something more
note: no pronouns were used for reader, reader is implied to be old enough to work, mentions of poisoning and assassination attempts, reader is somewhat emotionally constipated.
extra note: While Trey is not quite in-character as I would like, he is supposed to be younger than his canon version, so I wanted him to be more unsure and inexperienced than his future self.
I did it, I finally got this done. Praise me (don't)

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You don’t get paid enough for this nonsense. No, you seriously don’t.
One minute you were finally getting off a particularly bad shift at work, only to be in this strange world you don’t recognize…as a low-ranking servant to the bloody royal family!
The rules, the standards, the pretentious nobles you have to smile in fear of having your neck sliced…where’s OSHA when you need them?
At least your coworkers were decent and you’re not in charge of anything too major like waiting on the Queen or her son, unlike that young aide-in-training you see running up and down the palace…poor Sir Clover.
Not your problem, though
…Until a couple of greedy noblemen forced a vial of poison into your hands, promising you a grand reward of money and status for your compliance. They wanted you to spike the drink of the crown prince’s closest aide-in-training so they could plant their own men by his side.
With your best service smile on, you handed back the vial back.
“No ❤️”
When they try to threaten you, you kindly remind them that if they plan to drag you in the mud, you’re not above pulling them along with you.
“If I’m going down, I’m dragging everyone with me.”
Once that was over, you wanted to cleanse yourself from this ugly conspiracy. You were way too busy worrying about your own neck, and you assumed that Sir Clover was cautious over his own safety that you, a mere worker bee, have nothing to contribute.
However, you do notice that the young green-haired man seems to prioritize others over himself, and the lights to his room are often still lit until late into the night. An honest young man burdened with responsibilities; his defenses may not always be on guard…
Ugghh, what a pain in the-
“Um, excuse me?” You looked to the tall nobleman trying to capture your attention.
“Yes, Sir Clover?”
“Were you originally scheduled to work today?”
You held your urge to click your tongue. Of course, Trey would be aware of at least who was scheduled to wait on Prince Riddle and him. What an annoyingly conscientious man.
“My colleague was feeling unwell so I offered to take her place for today. I apologize for not informing you beforehand.” You bowed politely which made the bespectacled man a little flustered.
“No, I’m grateful she could take a rest. Thank you for taking up the role but please let us know next time so we can offer some medical help if needed.”
That wouldn’t be necessary, you thought as you nodded regardless. Your coworker wasn’t really sick in any way but she was more than happy to switch schedules with you.
Many of the servants are under the impression that you harbored a crush on the admittedly cute aide-in-training since you were caught glancing at his direction more often than usual. It wouldn't be surprising if your “crush” in question is also aware of the gossip, which leads to his tenseness around you. Be it kindness or hesitance, Sir Clover chose not to reprimand you for doing as you please.
“What a pain, but I guess it works in my favor anyway.”
A knock rang through the room and with Riddle’s permission, an anxious maid came in with a tray carrying a tea set, confusing everyone in the room.
It’s not time for afternoon tea yet.
“What is the meaning of this?” For someone so young, Riddle’s sharp tone ran a deadly chill down everyone’s back. “Afternoon tea is not for another 13 minutes.”
The maid stuttered in fear, the tea set clattering slightly in her hands. “T-The servants thought that His Highness and Sir C-Clover have been working tirelessly today and perhaps some tea could help.”
You had too much of a survival instinct to dare look at the prince but the silence and building heat in the air was evidence enough that the thought was not appreciative.
Trey was quick to clear the tension with an awkward cough and a smile. “Thank you, I could use some.”
At his words, you dutifully proceeded to reach for the set when the maid hastily pulled it away from you.
Strange
“I-I can do it. Please excuse me” Without sparing a glance towards you, the maid quickly set the tray down on a nearby table and worked to pour a cup.
You’ve seen this maid only a few times. She was a new addition to the roster, too new to approach the royal family but here she was. She hadn't even learned how to properly hold the pot which was noticeable to everyone but was ignored (at the behest of Trey’s wordless plea) due to assumed inexperience.
“She’s so nervous but here she is, so adamant about serving some damn tea…”
A suffocating feeling rising in your throat, you watched with trepidation as the maid walked towards Trey while holding the teacup almost too preciously.
“Eek!” The maid shrieked when your hand squeezed her wrist in an unforgiving grip. She turned to question you but your glare kept her silent.
Trey looked at you with confusion, but your attention kept on the shaking maid and the teacup. With your other hand, you reach for your silver brooch given as part of your uniform to symbolize you as a person of the royal family.
The confusion in Trey’s eyes turned to disbelief when he watched your silver brooch become a damning color as you dipped the silver into the tea.
The broken maid would have crumbled completely onto the pristine floor if not for your hand still on her wrist. While she seemed to be a bumbling mess begging for her life, you couldn’t risk her making a run for it.
You don’t get paid enough for this nonsense.
Tumblr media
”So, it was a plan to replace me…permanently.”
You stood silently in front of the solemn man in his office. After arresting her, it was easy to extract information from the maid and prince Riddle is gathering evidence for their act of treason, including your own interrogation.
“You are the trusted aide-to-be of the prince that cannot be bribed. You’re considered an obstacle.” You bowed your head. “I apologize for not speaking out sooner but if it were just my words without evidence, I could have my tongue removed for accusing nobility.”
If it was just you, then you wouldn’t be as confident. But to think that those corrupted nobles managed to convince someone else to do their dirty work. They were desperate and now that there was an attempt, the higher authorities have to take action.
“I shouldn’t feel bad for that maid…why should I for the choice she made…” you could still feel the sensation of that woman’s shaking body in the hand that held her. You don’t like it.
“Ha, you really don’t sugarcoat your words.” Trey’s voice pulled you back as he tried to laugh but his young body felt too heavy to put his whole heart into it.
But it’s finally over. The poisoning failed and those stupid noble scums were on Prince Riddle’s hit-list. That feeling of guilt that ate at your heart could finally rest in peace…right?
Even when he was the victim of all this, Trey was still sitting in his office in charge of investigating his own assassination attempt, on top of his usual duties in assisting the Royal family.
“Thank you for your time,” he even dares to smile kindly at you with dark circles under his warm eyes. “If you could, please call over the head staff to plan on interrogating the rest of the servants.”
“No.”
“N-No?”
“I won’t be doing that. I could ask the head staff to leave his schedule open if needed or if he could handle it with the guards since that’s his f*cking job,” You stared right into Trey’s eyes which widened in surprise. “For now, I humbly suggest Sir Clover to take a rest in his room or to work on something other than your assassination case.”
You didn’t wait for your stunned employer to reply as you bowed politely once more. “If there is nothing else, I shall take my leave.”
You moved away, making your way to the door before pausing. You glanced back at the young man in such a large office and your consciousness felt heavy. Your body was physically no older than Trey or Riddle but the weight on their shoulders was immeasurable, too much for either of them to handle on their own.
“Sir Clover,” you refused to look him in the eyes, “if you ever need anything…I’m willing to assist however I can.”
Immediately regretting your embarrassing words, you quickly added “but during work hours only!” before hastily leaving the office.
A shame really, since you missed the way Trey let out a genuine laugh after so long.

Corrupting the Heroine's First Love (Webcomic)
Created by: 루시노블 / FIG, FR411
Genre: Isekai/Fantasy
This one actually does make the female lead kind of evil, and has a corruption arc for the male lead. He turns into a sort of submissive/simp yandere, which is always my favorite. There are a lot of characters that are actually obsessed with the female lead in one way or another, and I can see why given her independence. I will say that the artist for this isekai does change about three different times. As of writing this, there is about 38 chapters.
The story starts out with Karina isekaing into the world, only to find one of the characters trapped under rubble and about to die. In the original story, Reneiger dies in the original story, leading the female lead to take upon the mantel and kill her, the villainess. In this story, Karina Apocolyptica is an experiment, who was raised and forced to take powers from her various siblings and other humans, thus being the strongest of them all. She ends up being able to kill her father and escape freely. She ends up being tracked by her other siblings, including Saladin, who is a wolf hybrid that is obsessed with her. Reneiger eventually does wake up, but the holy sword that he was using to fight manipulates him and brainwashes him into going after Karina to kill her Karina is able to disarm him and release him from the sword's grasp. Initially, when Reneiger wakes up to see Karina, he is extremely antagonistic towards her, as he's been taught all of his life that she is the source of evil, however, his view slowly shifts as he questions his beliefs about the holy order he's a part of. Meanwhile, the female and male leads, Penelope and Ahin look desperately for Reneiger and any sign that he's alive. Reneiger again tries to run away thanks to the swords insistence and manipulation, causing him to fight monsters and nearly getting killed as the sword attempts to martyr him with the monsters. Luckily before he is killed, he is once again saved by Karina, and the two of them form a blood oath in exchange for keeping Reneigers alive, she will bring him to the temple. She accepts, sharing their blood (via kissing), binding their lives together as a result.
Reneiger's resolve towards his previous holy life starts to deteriorate very fast, with him falling (and simping) for Karina, as well as Karina warning him that if they miss a day of sharing blood, the two will end up dying. Meanwhile, one of the sisters, Luna, continues her search on finding Karina to try to kill her. Karina also quits her human job so that he can bring Reneiger to the temple. We learn that because Reneiger is chosen by the sword he is destined to be absorbed by it, and that Luna knows where Karina's location is. During a discussion with Karina's familiar (an albino snake), we find out that Karina and Reneigers are reincarnations of an old myth, probably relating to how he is a demigod of the ocean or some sort. One of her coworkers (or her boss) tries to come over to her house to confess to her, meeting Reneiger instead. Reneiger gets extremely jealous and feels inferior towards him as he knows Karina, and this leads him to inadvertantly watch as the man falls down the stairs and breaks his neck. Karina comes home to a very distraught Reneiger, though she doesn't seem to care too much about the dead body and holds no attachments to the man, making Reneiger happy. Meanwhile Luna ends up meeting with another sibling, Jyle, who is the main villain of the story. Reneiger becomes more infatuated (and simpish) towards Karina and as the two travel towards the town, Karina is attacked by Luna.
We get Luna's backstory on why she hates Karina so much, which basically comes down to the fact that she wanted her father's attention, but Karina got it all, thus she became super envious and wanted to kill her. We find out that Luna also infused herself with a lot of her sibling's powers just so that she can fight Karina, and after Karina nearly dies, Reneiger comes to save the day. This time, he is able to absorb the power of the sword, turning his hair dark and successfully able to defend Karina from Luna. Karina is shocked at this transformation as this is supposed to be an awakening that happens to Ahin, and thus has no idea where the story is going to go as a result. Luna is eventually forced to retreat and instead runs into Penelope who finishes her off. Reneiger continues to simp for Karina even after she regenerates her arm, and we find out that Reneiger actually absorbed the power of the holy sword so he can no longer hear nor be manipulated by it any longer. We also learn that Karina's goal is to kill off her siblings before ending herself as her only real point in this world was survival. The two end up going to the town before Reneiger tries to get Karina to go with him to the temple. Karina is obviously against this as not only would it weaken her and that everyone would be terrified of her as she is one of the villains. She ends up slapping and hitting Reneiger before going downstairs and Reneiger coming after her to simp (and even stating that he will gouge out his eye if she wanted him to). After getting some information from the graveyards around town, Karina finds out that Jyle is coming for them. He drags Reneiger out of the town to find him. Jyle, Reneiger and Karina duel for a bit and we find out that Jyle's obsession with Karina is mostly due to her strength, with him wanting to lock her up, but instead gets enraged with her showing favor towards Reneiger. Meanwhile, Penelope gets some sort of vision and ends up going to where the fight is, and when the dust clears, finds Reneiger alive.
I will say that a lot if not most of the characters have some sort of obsession with Karina, whether it's to kill her or liking her. Normally I feel like this kind of thing is a bit annoying since it doesn't feel deserved, but here we can see that Karina is one of if not the most powerful member of the Apocolyptia and is basically killing a ton of various people, so it does make sense that Penelope, Reneiger and Ahin would want to stop her. Because of her powerful skills, her siblings would also either want to follow her or try to take that power away from her, though the reasoning is pretty varied. I actually quite like Karina as a character since she actually acts like a villainess/big bad of the story, killing people, reviving bodies, not caring about humans if they die in her house, all of that. She of course still has more caring side, but it is also ultimately fueled by the idea of survival and more selfish reasons, which is usually the opposite of what we see in a lot of these reincarnation stories, where the villainess becomes an actually good person. She pretty much kills when she needs to and has no hesitation using others for her gain or killing her own siblings as well as pushing back if she feels she doesn't like or want something.
Oh man, there is a lot of obsession in this story. We'll start out with the ones with know least about and move onto the ones that show the most in terms of yandere actions.
The first ones are actually between the two original leads, Penelope and Ahin. According to Karina, in the original story, Reneiger's death was caused by Ahin sending him off to war to die so that he could get close to Penelope, however, as a result, Penelope started to push him away due to his callous behavior towards Reneiger, which made Ahin more obsessed with her. Something similar happens in this story too, with Ahin rushing the investigation and wanting to declare Reneiger dead, and Penelope getting angry with him for doing so. Of course, we don't really get to see that much of their interactions in the story thus far, except when they kill Luna and at the end when Penelope finds Reneiger again.
Briefly, the guy that Karina worked with at her human job did also exhibit various possessive traits, with his goal being that he would ask her out so that she would stay. He purposefully provoked Reneiger by telling him how close the two were, how long they worked together, etc, before ultimately dying by falling down the stairs. Pretty light and he only really shows up in like three chapters.
The next couple of characters are the siblings. This is a weird one because technically this is a pseudo incest (which everyone knows I hate), but I believe that they are only siblings not by blood but because they were all experimented on by the same "father". In any case, I don't think any of the siblings obsessions are romantic by nature, so that kind of makes it better. Jyle and Saladin are the siblings we know least about and their obsessions with Karina are on opposite sides. Jyle is more of an imprisonment/ hatred obsession, mostly due to the fact that he finds Karina's power entertaining and wants to keep it for himself. He gets rather angry when he sees her hanging out with Reneiger and tries to kill him. Saladin on the other hand is completely devoted, likely because of how strong Karina is and even will kill people for her. He ends up sniffing and tracking Karina from Luna's body and is incredibly happy to hear that Karina was nearby. The sibling we know most about is Luna, who is driven by basically daddy issues. I do like Luna's design (I have a like of cutesy but dangerous girls, unlike the baoto comment section), but I do find her motivation to be the most boring one. The fact that she was able to go to some of her other siblings and take their power (which in story would require them to literally die) was really cool, but it was unfortunate we didn't get to see any of those interactions. She also ends up dying to Penelope, which is a shame because I feel like it would have been more meaningful if Reneiger had killed her instead, as that would have shown off his devotion and his new sword powers.
Finally, there's the male lead of this story, Reneiger. Reneiger goes through basically a corruption arc with him starting out as a holy warrior before realizing that the holy sword was basically trying to get him killed and that Karina is the one trying to save him. I think its fun seeing a corruption arc that is caused by the main character, since I don't think that's something we see too often at least in isekai stories (though that's generally because the main character is too nice to actually properly corrupt the male lead). You'll notice that I used the word simp a lot in the summary and while pretty much all yanderes have simp like behaviors, this guy pretty much does it all the time after he makes the bond with Karina. Karina taunts him a lot, rips off her broken arm after a fight with Luna and even hits him, and he still comes back like a dog. He even has a scene after Karina hits him that he would gouge out his own eye with a spoon if she wanted him to. When it comes to the sea god backstory, I'm still pretty confused on why it's even there, other than to show that Reneiger and Karina are tied by fate, as Reneiger was found from the sea, much like the sea god. I'm not sure how that would affect the story in the future, but it is there, so hopefully it will be used in an interesting way. Besides that, Reneiger also gets pretty jealous easily and can be protective over Karina, though when he does become more assertive it's usually done in a more desperate manner. I of course, love this kind of yandere and am not complaining, and the dynamic with Karina and Reneiger definitely puts Karina on the side with more control.
Overall, the setting and main characters are a pretty interesting read. I do like Karina since she does act as an actual villain and is pretty powerful in her own right. Reneiger as a yandere is also the type of yandere I like and the story of the holy versus the dark is something I haven't seen too often.
