Hello! If u dont remember me I'm the person that requested the villainess au Trey x reader from a long time ago, just wanna drop in and say I really look forward to your works and hope you have a great day/night/time! Sorry for bothering you if this message ends up being a bother
‧₊˚✧ Being Reincarnated into a New World as the Bad Guy‧₊˚✧
feat: Trey
genre: slow burn, coworkers-to-something more
note: no pronouns were used for reader, reader is implied to be old enough to work, mentions of poisoning and assassination attempts, reader is somewhat emotionally constipated.
extra note: While Trey is not quite in-character as I would like, he is supposed to be younger than his canon version, so I wanted him to be more unsure and inexperienced than his future self.
I did it, I finally got this done. Praise me (don't)
Being Reincarnated as the Bad Guy aka Villain/ess AU masterlist
You don’t get paid enough for this nonsense. No, you seriously don’t.
One minute you were finally getting off a particularly bad shift at work, only to be in this strange world you don’t recognize…as a low-ranking servant to the bloody royal family!
The rules, the standards, the pretentious nobles you have to smile in fear of having your neck sliced…where’s OSHA when you need them?
At least your coworkers were decent and you’re not in charge of anything too major like waiting on the Queen or her son, unlike that young aide-in-training you see running up and down the palace…poor Sir Clover.
Not your problem, though
…Until a couple of greedy noblemen forced a vial of poison into your hands, promising you a grand reward of money and status for your compliance. They wanted you to spike the drink of the crown prince’s closest aide-in-training so they could plant their own men by his side.
With your best service smile on, you handed back the vial back.
“No ❤️”
When they try to threaten you, you kindly remind them that if they plan to drag you in the mud, you’re not above pulling them along with you.
“If I’m going down, I’m dragging everyone with me.”
Once that was over, you wanted to cleanse yourself from this ugly conspiracy. You were way too busy worrying about your own neck, and you assumed that Sir Clover was cautious over his own safety that you, a mere worker bee, have nothing to contribute.
However, you do notice that the young green-haired man seems to prioritize others over himself, and the lights to his room are often still lit until late into the night. An honest young man burdened with responsibilities; his defenses may not always be on guard…
Ugghh, what a pain in the-
“Um, excuse me?” You looked to the tall nobleman trying to capture your attention.
“Yes, Sir Clover?”
“Were you originally scheduled to work today?”
You held your urge to click your tongue. Of course, Trey would be aware of at least who was scheduled to wait on Prince Riddle and him. What an annoyingly conscientious man.
“My colleague was feeling unwell so I offered to take her place for today. I apologize for not informing you beforehand.” You bowed politely which made the bespectacled man a little flustered.
“No, I’m grateful she could take a rest. Thank you for taking up the role but please let us know next time so we can offer some medical help if needed.”
That wouldn’t be necessary, you thought as you nodded regardless. Your coworker wasn’t really sick in any way but she was more than happy to switch schedules with you.
Many of the servants are under the impression that you harbored a crush on the admittedly cute aide-in-training since you were caught glancing at his direction more often than usual. It wouldn't be surprising if your “crush” in question is also aware of the gossip, which leads to his tenseness around you. Be it kindness or hesitance, Sir Clover chose not to reprimand you for doing as you please.
“What a pain, but I guess it works in my favor anyway.”
A knock rang through the room and with Riddle’s permission, an anxious maid came in with a tray carrying a tea set, confusing everyone in the room.
It’s not time for afternoon tea yet.
“What is the meaning of this?” For someone so young, Riddle’s sharp tone ran a deadly chill down everyone’s back. “Afternoon tea is not for another 13 minutes.”
The maid stuttered in fear, the tea set clattering slightly in her hands. “T-The servants thought that His Highness and Sir C-Clover have been working tirelessly today and perhaps some tea could help.”
You had too much of a survival instinct to dare look at the prince but the silence and building heat in the air was evidence enough that the thought was not appreciative.
Trey was quick to clear the tension with an awkward cough and a smile. “Thank you, I could use some.”
At his words, you dutifully proceeded to reach for the set when the maid hastily pulled it away from you.
Strange
“I-I can do it. Please excuse me” Without sparing a glance towards you, the maid quickly set the tray down on a nearby table and worked to pour a cup.
You’ve seen this maid only a few times. She was a new addition to the roster, too new to approach the royal family but here she was. She hadn't even learned how to properly hold the pot which was noticeable to everyone but was ignored (at the behest of Trey’s wordless plea) due to assumed inexperience.
“She’s so nervous but here she is, so adamant about serving some damn tea…”
A suffocating feeling rising in your throat, you watched with trepidation as the maid walked towards Trey while holding the teacup almost too preciously.
“Eek!” The maid shrieked when your hand squeezed her wrist in an unforgiving grip. She turned to question you but your glare kept her silent.
Trey looked at you with confusion, but your attention kept on the shaking maid and the teacup. With your other hand, you reach for your silver brooch given as part of your uniform to symbolize you as a person of the royal family.
The confusion in Trey’s eyes turned to disbelief when he watched your silver brooch become a damning color as you dipped the silver into the tea.
The broken maid would have crumbled completely onto the pristine floor if not for your hand still on her wrist. While she seemed to be a bumbling mess begging for her life, you couldn’t risk her making a run for it.
You don’t get paid enough for this nonsense.
”So, it was a plan to replace me…permanently.”
You stood silently in front of the solemn man in his office. After arresting her, it was easy to extract information from the maid and prince Riddle is gathering evidence for their act of treason, including your own interrogation.
“You are the trusted aide-to-be of the prince that cannot be bribed. You’re considered an obstacle.” You bowed your head. “I apologize for not speaking out sooner but if it were just my words without evidence, I could have my tongue removed for accusing nobility.”
If it was just you, then you wouldn’t be as confident. But to think that those corrupted nobles managed to convince someone else to do their dirty work. They were desperate and now that there was an attempt, the higher authorities have to take action.
“I shouldn’t feel bad for that maid…why should I for the choice she made…” you could still feel the sensation of that woman’s shaking body in the hand that held her. You don’t like it.
“Ha, you really don’t sugarcoat your words.” Trey’s voice pulled you back as he tried to laugh but his young body felt too heavy to put his whole heart into it.
But it’s finally over. The poisoning failed and those stupid noble scums were on Prince Riddle’s hit-list. That feeling of guilt that ate at your heart could finally rest in peace…right?
Even when he was the victim of all this, Trey was still sitting in his office in charge of investigating his own assassination attempt, on top of his usual duties in assisting the Royal family.
“Thank you for your time,” he even dares to smile kindly at you with dark circles under his warm eyes. “If you could, please call over the head staff to plan on interrogating the rest of the servants.”
“No.”
“N-No?”
“I won’t be doing that. I could ask the head staff to leave his schedule open if needed or if he could handle it with the guards since that’s his f*cking job,” You stared right into Trey’s eyes which widened in surprise. “For now, I humbly suggest Sir Clover to take a rest in his room or to work on something other than your assassination case.”
You didn’t wait for your stunned employer to reply as you bowed politely once more. “If there is nothing else, I shall take my leave.”
You moved away, making your way to the door before pausing. You glanced back at the young man in such a large office and your consciousness felt heavy. Your body was physically no older than Trey or Riddle but the weight on their shoulders was immeasurable, too much for either of them to handle on their own.
“Sir Clover,” you refused to look him in the eyes, “if you ever need anything…I’m willing to assist however I can.”
Immediately regretting your embarrassing words, you quickly added “but during work hours only!” before hastily leaving the office.
A shame really, since you missed the way Trey let out a genuine laugh after so long.

For us, when we were similarly devastated by how hard “ILWV” dropped the ball, we managed to find a series that partially filled that void: “The Old Man Reincarnated as the Villainess”
Wordy title aside (if it gets translated we severely hope they change it to “Old Man’s Villainess Reincarnation” or something) it’s a shockingly wholesome and funny series…!
The basic premise is an older social worker got reincarnated into the villainess of his daughter’s favorite romance game… but he SUCKS at being a villainess! A lot of the story is him trying to slyly push the game’s MC to a love target, but failing so miserably everyone (including the original protag) just pays more attention to him instead!
It doesn’t have nearly a focus on romance as ILWV, and we do feel it’s cast is a bit too pale (though ILWV has the exact same problem), it’s a generally very sweet, enjoyable read.
(Also the original game’s MC Anna has a ridiculous baby gay crush on the MC, if that’s a bonus)
Yeah sorry to be the one to inform you about this, but yeah, Claire’s main maid is in an incestual relationship with her brother. It’s actively compared to how lgbt relationships are not accepted in society and… yes, it ruins a ***lot*** of elements about the story. Like that moment where they actually sit down and talk about Rei being gay? Rei said “I’m not the only one with relationship troubles…” and it’s referring to the maid being into incest. The second half of the story heavily features a (magically induced but still) murder alter system, and the “problematic” alter gets erased from existence in the triumphant finale…
Well... goddamn... at least now ik
#the old man reincarnated as the villainess#I’m in love with the villainess#also because the MC didn’t actually play the game a lot of this is new to him/her#incest mention#pluralphobia#ableism tw

Okay so, new fic rec!
My Next Life as a Supervillain: All Routes Lead to Doctor Doom!
Basic premise is that 17 year old "Monkey Girl" gets hit by a truck on the way to school and reincarnates as a villainness in a work she's a fan of.
But, where her canon counterpart was up too late playing the fictional dating sim "Fortune Lover", this girl was up too late reading Marvel Comics.
Thus, she is reincarnated into the MCU as Dr. Doom.
But her name isn't "Victor."
Instead, Katarina von Doom's lab experiment blows up in her face, and the shrapnel that slices her face open ALSO restores her memories of her past life, shortly before the Stark Expo from Iron Man 2.
Now, Katarina must survive the MCU, build her Doom suit, help Reed Richards become Mr. Fantastic, liberate Latveria, AND try to make the world a better place, all the while accidentally seducing friend and foe alike with her sheer charm and bubbly personality.
Basically, it's a "My Next Life as a Villainess"/MCU crossover.

"My feelings on" part 4: into the light once again and how it only takes a few gross tropes to taint what could've been a perfect piece of work.
I remember seeing the trailer for it so many times back in 2018 but I never got to read all of it since Tappytoons has a 30 ad policy just to get enough to buy on chapter. It's really good, wholesome families, sibling dynamics, a smart villain, and a magic system so the fantasy aspect wont be abandoned for cheap fanservice.
The protagonist used to be known as Alisa, 4th princess of Edenverre and was mistreated by family and servants with the exception of her younger sister, the golden child Marianne who is later revealed to be the mastermind behind the false accusations of poisoning Marianne Alisa faces. She is executed by her own family and comes back as the princess of the enemy empire Elmire, now known as Aisha she swears to one day get justice on her sister.
The revenge plot may be overrated but Into the light does it well enough that I could look past it. The politics and world building are fantastic and the element spirits low-key reminded me of gacha studio or genshin impact characters, and characters like Ashley and Mina aren't enemies for Aisha to defeat, they are people who make mistakes and are allowed to grow.
My favorite part of course is the villainess Marianne, she geninuely scares the hell out of me with her uncanny valley vibe she emits, there's always something so off about her and she reminds be almost of a monster who would star in the conjuring. Marianne has the ability to brainwash others and while I can't tell which, she either steals Alisas body or she causes an illusion affect to alter her and Alisas forms to the family of Edenverre (Really confusing but i like it) and while Marianne doesn't have as much screen time as I wished I enjoyed her while I could, because into the light treats Marianne with respect as an antagonist.
Marianne barely showing up may not even be a bad thing entirely, because while revenge is part of it, the story is built more on healing from your trauma and surrounding yourself with positive influences so it's reasonable that most chapters would center around Aishas powers and her family.
My only small gripe is a petty one but I'm pretty sure the author is an only child 😭. I'm not saying that Aisha and Ysis should be full on murdering eachother but their so unbelievably protective of eachothers feelings to the point of Ysis disliking the idea of any man wanting to marry his sister in the future, ive even seen some fans get concerned that it was going into a brothe-sister thing (especially when he was included as an option for men for Aisha to be attracted to ick)
As someone who has lived with 3 siblings, the excitement for a new baby sibling dies after 3 weeks at most. But hey, they do got a large palace, maybe Ysis just had the luxury of not needing to listen to his baby sister cry at night. I also don't understand why Ysis would immediately believe that Aisha was a reincarnated soul that could remember her past. Like I know he loves her but if my sister started to tell me she was the executed princess in a past life I'd be more concerned.
I wish I could say that was the only thing I didn't like.. unfortunately as much as I love into the light once again, it doesn't stay great for very long. That was my only small gripe because I have a lot of large problems with the love interests
Aisha is 14 and turns 15 at some point but for most of the series, she's a young teen and all her love interests are leaps and bounds older then her. Starting with the big one, Luminas, a 2000 year old king of light who meets Aisha WHEN SHES STILL A BABY!
"Damn, too early, ill give it 13 more years."
Not even the second male lead is safe, Veon is the youngest of the male leads and he's basically watched Aisha grow up since he was Ysis's friend. I can't remember his exact age but I know he is at least 20 which is just... that doesn't make it any better!. There's also apparently some dude named Arsen who's also at least 25 years old and one of Alisas childhood friends, I've heard people say he's another love interest but I haven't seen anything confirmed myself so I'll just hope my 2nd favorite character isn't going to be going after minors.
I'm starring to think the author has an age-gap fetish at this point.
Quick thing I wanted to bring up, a lot of the comments on this chapter have been uncomfortable not just with the age gap and pedophilic weirdness but also this dress. It doesn't look bad but it's built like a maternity dress and for some reason she looks pregnant in a lot of shots which just.. I'm gonna hope we're all just overthinking that one because the last thing this manhwa needs is implications that Aisha will get pregnant young.
While there is a lot of people who are rightfully uncomfortable with the 2000 year age gap, there is also a lot of people justifying it. "He treats Aisha well though!" "It was normal in that time!" "Your just being too soft! Let Aisha be happy!!"
Let me bring up some real history for minute.
This is Isabella of Valois during her wedding with Richard II, she is the youngest bride currently known about in the medieval era
Isabella was only 6 years old when she married her 29 year old husband.
This is Margaret Beaufort.
She was 12 when she got married to her 24 year old husband and 13 years old when she gave birth to Henry VII
And probably one of the more well known examples, Catherine Howard.
She could have been as young as 15 and as old as 17 when she married Henry VIII who was 49.
Now did these examples make your skin crawl? Did they make you feel disgusted? Well they should, just because it was normal in that era, doesn't mean it's all of a sudden fine. There isn't even the cheap excuse that Aisha is technically over 20 given her mental age since Alisa died at 14 and Aisha is very clearly still mentally a young teenager.
Luminas and Veon are definitely nowhere near the personalities of men like Henry VIII but that also doesn't make it okay either. Especially when Veon basically watched Aisha grow up and she's his friends little sister! and Luminas knew her since she was an infant. Would it be that hard for Aisha to at least be a young adult and not a 14 year old. Because it really feels like Luminas is waiting for her to be legal since he already tells her she's his ideal woman when she's still a 14 year old.
Conclusion: Into the light once again is a beautiful story about healing from your trauma and the writting and the characters are just amazing. But it all feels like it's backpeddled when it's so heavily romanticizing or just straight up ignoring the fact that Aisha is basically a grooming victim, the relationship is practically covered in glitter to make it look better, "Sure Luminas is 2000 years old and Aisha isn't even an adult but at least he's so nice to her and he teachers her how to summon spirits! He'll always protect her!" Because while Luminas will (hopefully) never hurt her. Real groomers absolutely will. It pushes the message that as long as the man who is old enough to be your dad is sweet to you and protects you, then it's fine if he has feelings for you. Intentional or not. A story about healing from trauma supporting relationship where ones a child and ones a god with a mature mental age to boot is kind of like when movie producers fucked up the original meaning of Lolita.
Coming up on the next "My feelings on":
#into the light once again#Marianne de edenverre#Ysis#luminas#lord veon#There are actual people who say Aisha is mature for her age so it's fine#Ew just full on ew.#Aisha de elmire

Manhua recommendations part 2! Straight version!
I was planning on becoming her loyal sword, +52 Chapters
Rating: 9/10
The main character in this is so hot! Just a sword wielding hottie who is a bit oblivious to others' advances but she is slowly forming a harem because of how badass she is. She is living her life as a mercenary, protecting her younger sister, but eventually finds out her true heritage! I'm not quite sure where the story is going from here, but I have a feeling that we are just in the middle of it, so more plot will transpire from here on out. But I love her, she's fun and cool and everyone loves her including myself. Also her guy version is.... kind of hot too😳. Mm, the bisexual in me.
Stepmother Marchen, +110 Chapters
Rating: 9/10
This is a dramatic but lovely story with AMAZING art. Lives her life, dies, get sent back in time to fix her past relationships. Every character is lovely and we get to see some interesting issues being discussed like domestic abuse, gambling addiction, and the-CHURCH. But my lady is doing amazing this time around and is just a total babe. Though I wouldn't call her a milf. And the reason it's not a ten out of ten is cause I'm weirded out why she is a mom in the first place. Like nothing happened between them, but why did she marry this old guy and have to raise his four kids when he died? She's like... fifteen 🤨. I haven't read it in a while, and this one's translation gets weird later on, but there are other copies that you can dip your toes into. It's a compelling and cool story, check it out!
Please Marry Me Again, Husband! +59 Chapters
Rating: 8/10
I-LOVE-THIS-STORY! So soft, so fluffy, so wholesome. Cardi is sexy and I want to eat him up. They are so in love with each other, it's bananas. And really it's just a second chance at love and romance, and it's so charming. The protagonist is so much more sure and confident in herself after she died, got sent back in time to make her life better with the man she married. So perfect.
It's Time to Change the Genre, +78 Chapters
Rating: 8/10
This shit is funny! Like the protag isn't the smartest transmigrated character, but she is fun and goofy and we love her for that. This story isn't a super typical transmigration story, cause there is the part that is kind of different than the rest tho I don't want to spoil it. But this is a fun story that makes me laugh. And her nephew is the cutest little butt head. Adorbs!
Please don't come to the Villainess's stationary store, +54 Chapters
Rating: 7/10
https://manhuascan.me/manga/please-dont-come-to-the-villainess-stationery-store
Transmigrated and decides to leave her stupid family and start a new business. Which happens to be a stationary store where she gives candy to little kids at a neighboring school! Very cute! Very fluffy and wholesome! Her ex fiance is a dick, like probably the worst man ever, and her sister is a crazy bitch. So let's take revenge on them for inconveniencing the protagonist! And she is so smart and one step ahead of everyone and is so pretty aghhnjvhblagggh! And she just has a cute team of side characters who are their to support her during her time of need and it's so sweet! Like candy! Ahhh! Plus Plus! Here love interest is sexy~ Check this one out! Tho I should note that the translation here gets wonky later on, so you might need to find a new place to read it after a while.
Here Comes the Silver Spoon! +80 Chapters
Rating: 8/10
This is a good story. It's not exactly how you expect it to go, but it's still very good. We got Adelaide over here, who is the richest, smartest, evilest babe alive and I love her for that. She is just morbidly evil and will sell you to satan for one potato chip. But like, in a hot way. So the story goes like, she is engaged but her sister steals her fiance, so Adelle's gotta find a new better husband in like a week so she won't lose the family fortune. Her sister, Noella is so fucked up (don't know why yet), love that for her. I just.... ahh! She is so fascinating and Adelle is so cool!
This is a transmigration story btw, so it is even more interesting that Adelaide has these preconceived notions of her sister which influence their relationship.
A wicked tale of Cinderella's Stepmom, +96 Chapters
Rating: 9/10
Mommy! Mommy! MOMMY! MILF! WE GOT A MILF OVER HERE! And oh boy, she isn't like dangerous sexy, but she is so mommy it's hot! So person gets sent into cinderella's wicked stepmom's body and just decides "These are my daughters now." And just adopts all of them and loves them. And these girls are just *flings hands around* GIRLS! Like yes, yes! No girls hating girls here. We are just loving cute girls who have sleepovers and stuff. And mommy here is just mother henning them so much, I cry. And her love interest is such a chad. He's in victorian wherever and in his late twenties and sees a widowed forty-something-year-old woman with three older daughters and is like, "I'm your husband and their dad now." Like way to go, my guy. A man of culture I see. A true milfhunter, u have my respect, my liege. Also.... Feminism? In my manhua? It's more likely then you think.
The Tyrant's Only Perfumer, +87.2 Chapters
Rating: 7/10
This one in the beginning is a 6/10 cause the art isn't the best, but it gets obviously polished over time, becoming a 7/10. Like you can just see the evolution of the artist's hand in this one. It's very impressive. But the story is pretty basic. Person dies and gets sent into a villainess's body, but it is endearing to me because they couldn't smell anything in their past life and in this life, they got a great nose and can make perfume! I'm like: I can't smell shit either! Let me live vicariously thru u! And also she starts a business, and I love it when these protagonists wanna make the money! I'm like, hell yeah! Be a successful entrepreneur! But yes, the art gets very pretty later on, the story and romance are pretty basic, but a fun little read. Nothing bad, but nothing astounding either.
There is no use hanging on, +119 Chapters
Rating: 9/10
https://manhuascan.me/manga/theres-no-use-hanging-on
Ok, this is an amazing revenge story. We get dies, but gets a second chance at life by going back in time. You know the gist. And this story might be very predictable, but it's a good predictable where it is executed very well. The art is a bit wonk sometimes but honestly, it's the story that hooks you in. And all the characters are so compelling, I love it! I can't wait for more!
It's not your baby! +48 Chapters
Rating 8/10
https://manhuascan.com/manga/its-not-your-baby
Found this one recently, it's very cute but also a story filled with longing and the aching feeling in your heart of someone else's absence. The babe here fucks her best friend, gets knocked up, decides she wants to keep the baby and not deal with any of the noble or royal drama that comes with it and decides to gtfo. She is a wise military leader who knows how to absolutely disappear off the radar and honestly, that is so cool of her. Feel bad for her love interest because he just wants to be with her and can't find her. It's a perfect story of angsty longing and also a cute lady who can't wait to have her baby. And ahhhhh it's adorable how excited she is. Love it.
But honestly, I totally get why she misunderstands him and his intentions, and also why she wouldn't want the world to know that she is pregnant. I think her reasonings make sense and I find it very intriguing.
Another Typical Fantasy Romance, +79 Chapters

AND I SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST!!!! Against what the name suggests, this is clearly not your typical fantasy romance story! It is so much more!!! Firstly, the male love interest isn't your typical willowy bishonen man. No, this is Pell and I want to chomp on his big fat nipples. He is a bear of a man, covered in hair and scars and uuuggh, Littera u are so lucky, girl! He is like- a gentle giant with big insecurities, but can also deck any monster and oof!!! He is just a nice change of pace and I wanna eat him up. Also Littera is just meta-savvy and knows her way around things, and we get to watch their relationship grow from pretty cute to so communicative it's ridiculous! There is no miscommunication here! They talk about their feelings and just make everything perfect between each other. It's so gooey, and cute, and they are so sensible! I love them and can't wait until they have a million little babies! I recommend this one out of all others if not just for Pell alone!

Like it's fair to like something that has a buttload of problems but to declare it "great" in the face of everything wrong with it is sorta... you know? You know...
#chirps#We like plenty of elements from Ranma 1/2 but we'd hesitate to call it 'good'#even stories we genuinely deeply like such as the old man reincarnated as the villainess. there's no people with darker skin#and we feel that's a huge blow to the story/world/character design#we find the joy in plenty of bad media but we're not gonna sugarcoat when something is critically flawed we guess..#🪴Annie🤎

She is a natural person who attracts people without even realizing it.
Her magical power is earth.
Jeord / Geordo Stuart

His magical power is fire.
Keith Claes
Katarina's adopted brother.
He was adopted by a branch of the Claes family because of his high magical power. A beautiful figure full of sex appeal.

He is troubled by his sister Katarina's lack of awareness.
His magic power is earth.
Alan Stuart

His magical power is water.

His magical power is wind.
Mary Hunt
The fourth daughter of a marquis and Alan's fiance. She is a cute beautiful girl.
She used to be timid, but after she met Katarina, she grew to the point where she became known in her social circles as the ``lady of ladies.''
She is good at growing plants, and she helps Katarina revive her field.
She loves Katarina and is plotting to take her away to a far away land and monopolize her (apparently).
Her magical power is water.
Sophia Ascart
The daughter of an earl and Nicole's younger sister.
Because she has white hair and red eyes, she was raised up with unkind words from those around her.
She has a quiet and gentle personality. She loves reading stories, and she befriends Katarina after they read the same romance novel, and the two deepen their friendship.
Her magical power is wind.
Maria Campbell
Although she is a commoner, she is a special girl who has the magic power of light.
She is the original main character of the otome game "FORTUNE LOVER".
She is a kind, humble, and hard-working person who works hard at everything she does, but Katarina saves her from being bullied due to her social status, and he comes to admire her.
Like Katarina, she ends up working at the Ministry of Magic.
She is good at making sweets, and the sweets Maria makes are Katarina's favorites.
Raphael Wolt
He is the son of Marquis Deke and a distant relative of Nicol and the others. He is good at making tea.
He is one year older than Katarina, and was appointed student council president because he was at the top of his class in academics and magic at magic school.
Due to the death of his mother when he was young, he acquired dark magical powers, but was freed when he met Katarina.
He currently works for the Ministry of Magic.
Anne Shelley
Maid to Katarina. She has been serving Katarina since she was eight years old.
On the surface, she treats Katarina as salt, as she is always being pushed around, but she cares for Katarina more than anyone else, and she intends to follow and serve Katarina no matter what.
Sora
He used to be a servant to the Duke of Berg's family, but now he works for the Ministry of Magic.
He is a soft-spoken, knowledgeable person, and a capable person who handles his work smoothly.
He is beautiful and full of sex appeal.
Ian Stuart
The second prince of Sorcier Kingdom. Along with the first prince Geoffrey, he is a strong candidate to become the next king. His calm and collected demeanor gives off a cold impression to those around him.
Pochi
A dark familiar that Katarina acquired after accidentally taking over a dark ritual. He looks like a black puppy and is loved like a pet. He usually lurks in Katarina's shadow.
Aaqil
A merchant boy from the Kingdom of Mutrak. He meets Katarina, who wanders into the caravan's tent. He has the ability to communicate with animals.
Qumiit
A member of a merchant caravan from the Kingdom of Mutrak, and a friend of Aaqil since childhood. He appears on shows dressed as a woman, making the most of his beautiful appearance.
Nashiit
A member of a merchant caravan from the Kingdom of Mutrak. He and Haarti are twins, and although they look exactly like each other, they have different personalities. He is a cheerful younger brother.
Haati
A member of a merchant caravan from the Kingdom of Mutrak. He and Nashiit are twins, and although they look exactly like each other, they have different personalities. He's a cool brother.
Alqus
A sword-wielding girl who is a member of a merchant caravan from the Mutrak Kingdom.
Piyo
A creature that looks like a baby bird (?) that Katarina found in a warehouse while chasing Pochi.

Every thing i've read in March
Villainous Husband, The One You’re Obsessed With Is Over There
Do you ever have the craving for a really fucked up, borderline horror otome isekai story about a woman who is actually willing to do anything to survive? Well i finally found something that satisfy my craving.
Our beloved little princess is Angelica who got isekaied into a novel with a bad ending. Her role in the story is just to be an unnamed, faceless wife to the emperor who killed her so he could take the female lead as his wife. So now she must live until the moment the emperor meets the female lead so she can runaway.
So straight up, the guy is the most rotten, sociopathic, deranged son of a bitch that i've ever seen. You wanna know why Angelica ended up as his wife? He threw a knife at a wall filled with pictures of potential wives and the knife landed in Angelicas left eye. Yeah, it was that crazy. I feel so bad for Angelica because she got stuck with the worse situation where she has to constantly tip toe around a man who can literally end her life if he thought it would be fun.
It's tagged as a romance but i've seen alot of people say that it's way to fucked up to be called that, which is fair. But it's absolutely perfect for bitches who have no morals like me. Like the horror, the insanity of an empire run by the laws of power, the psychological aspect of it all. Ugh, it was the perfect storm for me. Anyways read it if you want but know that this story is a dead dove, view on your own discrestion.
I Reincarnated as a Noble Girl Villainess But Why Did It Turn Out This Way?
There is a weird niche inside of Japanese otome isekai, which is basically "I got isekaied into an otome game but instead of becoming a sterostypical noble lady i became the protagonist of a military/hunter story". Which explains this story.
Eliza Kaldia, who was reincarnated as the villainess found herself in a shit situation. Her entire family are fucking stupid, evil, vapid nobles who are on the verge of bankrupting their land. So the poor gal did what she had to do, which is to poison her entire family when she was 2 years old. Like she hesitate but while she was doing that her family has already caused a dozen more deaths, so i support her.
Home girl also didn't got it easy after the death of her evil family, like after her family die the goverment put her under the guardianship of a well respected old noble. Like the guy wasn't evil or anything, he was a great person all around, but Eliza had to endure undergo harsh governance and military training, which she accepts without questioning because she's smart enough to realize the reality of her situation, and also because she feels that it is her responsibility to restore the domain that was devastated by her family. Mad respect for that.
If you like bloody, realistic, brutal stories about great people rising above from their tragic circumstances i would say that this is a great story for you.
Life update: sorry for the short list, collage has been a real life eater so i didn't have the energy to read alot. Mostly i've just been playing otome games to pass the time but i didn't know if i could put it on this list so i decided against it. I promise I'll make it up to you guys but writing more reviews this month to make up for this.
Love ya, bye

Searching for My Father (Webcomic)
Created by: Blooming bouquet, Ongnyo
Genre: Fantasy
Searching for My Father, or I Only Came to Find My Dad starts out pretty tragic, but then ends up sweeter with a very cute family love dynamic. Unfortunately, this also feels like it sucks out most of the conflict once the yandere gets disposed of, which is unfortunate, because I'm sure he could have been a very good villain. As of writing this, there are currently 56 chapters.
The story starts out with Louise being groomed by her uncle Benjamin, a man who was obsessed with Louise's mom, Leah. Since Leah died an unfortunate death, Benjamin attempts to marry Louise as a replacement for her at the age of 16 (yikes). Unwilling to live this life, Louise commits suicide, only to be reincarnated back to when she was eight and back when her mom was alive. As a result, she vows to never let what happened in her past happen again, starting with taking care of her mother. Benjamin attempts again to marry Leah, but she refuses, and this causes pretty much the entire town to turn on her. Leah dies again because of unfortunate circumstances and it seems that Louise is going back on track again to being groomed at married by Benjamin. She's able to plead to the priest, Father Patrick to help her find her real father. After escaping and locating her father, Louise and Father Patrick set out to find Duke Alistair. He accepts her immediately, and though heartbroken by the death of Leah, fully decides to take care of Louise the best she can. She meets the twins, the two that learn under her father, as well as her new step brother Erhi and while in the town together, even (unknowingly) befriends the prince, Idris. Soon after though, as Father Patrick returns home, he is accused of kidnapping Louise under Benjamin's influence. We learn that the reason Benjamin has a bit of an inferiority complex when it came to his older brother, Alistair, believing that he would never have anything because his brother would take it away from him, which included his crush Leah, whom Alistair married. Alistair gets wind of this and goes to find his brother himself, even finding that all the letters that Leah sent were confiscated by Benjamin, and making him go into a rage. Father Patrick is put on trial and Alistair is able to win and prove Benjamin guilty, even going to rip out Benjamin's tongue and is sent to an island after his hands are cut off. After that we learn about why Alistair had to leave Leah and Louise behind, since he was bound with a curse and it was all in an attempt to save them. There's cute scenes with the entire family, Louise befriending some divine beasts, and finally learning that Erhi is a prince. The last chapters so far are after a time jump and meeting the newest villainess character that will oppose her.
Honestly, the story up until the yandere gets dispensed is kind of interesting. Louise gets a new start after running away from her old fate and gets an extremely loving family, but... after that is all becomes fluff with very little conflict. Sure, there are some internal conflicts with her attempting to get close to her dad, but most of it is resolved so quickly you wouldn't think it was much of an issue at all. I also think that everyone loves Louise far too quickly. It makes sense for the dad to love her since she did in fact love her mom, but the twins and even the stepbrother, who seemed rude to her all change their tune very quickly and not really for any good reason. I'm not saying that you can't have a cute family dynamic after having such a traumatic happenings, but considering how fast it happens, it doesn't feel realistic that everyone would suddenly accept her very fast, even under her father's rule. She doesn't really have any specific enduring traits that the characters even mentions to why they might like her. I can understand why people might like it though since it does have a very cute dynamic of family, but for me, everyone accepts her too fast and with such little conflict it makes it seem like nothing is really happening and it's a little boring for my taste. I kind of wish there was more conflict with Louise opening up to her father since the two look REALLY similar and I think that it would be a lot more meaningful if it took her much longer to get used to someone that looked really similar to grooming her, or even just having trust issues with the rest of the household.
Moving onto Benjamin. It's obvious that we're not suppose to like him considering he's a groomer and attempts to marry Louise at the age of 16, but he is at least, probably the most interesting character in the story. He ends up being a replacement yandere after he attempts to "replace" Leah by marrying her daughter, and there is actually backstory to why he would feel this way, unlike most of the other characters. I honestly thought he would be a character that would have stayed around more since, as I said, he's the main source of conflict for the story and he kind of just gets shoveled off after Louise finds her father. It's possible that he might come back in the future, seeing how he's not dead, but I would have loved to see more of a villain arc with this character- maybe attempting to lay siege on his brother's mansion or manipulating his brother more, but nope. It seems like such wasted potential since he's built to be this huge bad villain and he's just taken away from the story so easily.
Overall, the story is just kind of mediocre in my eyes. If you enjoy more family based isekai style stories that are focused on fluff, then this one is probably one that you may enjoy. The yandere is in there for the first 25 or so chapters before getting shoveled off (though it is mostly in the beginning) so if you are interested in more villainous yanderes, it might be interesting for you as well.

villainess manga recommendation list
hi! i've read a lot of villainess manga/manhwa and i am here to tell you the ones that i think are pretty good that i don't think many people have heard of.
i'm not going to be recommending i favor the villainess or hamefura because they're either what got you into the genre or you have at least heard of them.
I want to read a lesbian villainess reincarnation story like I'm In Love With The Villainess/I want that but i was put off by the sexual harrassment jokes in I'm In Love With The Villainess: you want 请欺负我吧,恶役小姐!/Please Bully Me, Miss Villainess! the protagonist is reincarnated as yvonne, the mean rich villainess and an in-story all-powerful game system forces her to bully heroine elsa or terrible things will happen. yvonne does her best to bully elsa into banishing her or leaving her alone so she can't hurt her anymore but elsa chases her after she gets banished because she's really into being reluctantly bullied by a cute girl.
I want to read a lesbian villainess reincarnation story with an isekaid protagonist who isn't reincarnated: you want 限界OLさんは悪役令嬢さまに仕えたい/The Fed-Up Office Lady Wants To Serve The Villainess! midori is a hard-working office lady who gets fired for bullshit reasons before being whisked away to the world of her favorite visual novel as the familiar/pet of the twist villainess lapis. midori prevents herself from being discarded by claiming to be able to see the future by having knowledge of the VN, so now it's her job to try and save lapis from herself and also the guillotine.
I want a funny villainess reincarnation story with no romance/I want a funny villainess reincarnation story with an original premise: you want 悪役令嬢転生おじさん/Akuyaku Reijou Tensei Oji-san! 52-year-old father/civil servant kenzaburou is reincarnated into the villainess of his daughter's favorite otome game and my god is he fucking funny about it. his "elegance cheat" from years of polite civil servant ettiquette and loving fatherly attitude make the new grace accidentally beloved by every love interest and the original protagonist because of her old man charm, much to the chagrin of his wife and daughter who are playing the game he's in to try and get him to the end so he can wake up from his coma. the story is also genuinely sweet at a lot of points specifically around the topic of parenthood. the art is a little wonky but in a way that only adds to the experience.
I want a villainess reincarnation story that has basically the default premise but a little to the left and is just executed very well/I want a tsundere villainess protagonist who is funny: you want アルバート家の令嬢は没落をご所望です/The Young Lady Of The Albert House Wishes For Ruin! mary albert is the reinacarnated villainess of her favorite otome game and due to political reasons it's beneficial to her family for her to be exiled and as a reincarnated commoner she's happy to be banished to start a rice bowl store in the north, but that's just set dressing for good old-fashioned tsundere villainess action as mary tries her damndest to follow the plot of the original story but fails because despite being a tsundere she is too silly and practical to do anything genuinely harmful. mary is a very funny protagonist and manages to straddle the line between mean enough to actually be a tsundere but not enough that you have no idea why these people like her very well, the series in general is very funny, and the original heroine and the prince mary has an amicable divorce with(broken engagement technically but they act like divorcees) both have very funny and genuinely sweet relationships with her, especially heroine alicia. the new volume has mary come into contact with two other reincarnated villainesses following the two most default villainess paths(reverse harem and avoid the bad end). she and her butler who is her eventual love interest are the best comedy duo though.
I want a villainess story that isn't an isekai/I want a funny villainess reincarnation with an original premise that IS a romance: you want ツンデレ悪役令嬢リーゼロッテと実況の遠藤くんと解説の小林さん/Endo and Kobayashi's Live Commentary on the Villainess! endo and kobayashi are two high school students in the broadcasting club who decide to do sports commentary on the otome game kobayashi's playing only for the prince to turn to the screen and ask if the gods can hear him! as gods, kobayashi and endo have to use their powers to prevent liselotte the villainess from meeting a grisly end after she's possessed by the witch by repairing her relationship with the other characters and actually strategizing for the fight. this story actually has three romances, between kobayashi and endo, liselotte and prince siegward, and original heroine and the character who the game dooms to always die protecting her despite her best efforts. all three of these romances are well-done although liselotte and siegward are the standout. the manga is very concerned with why liselotte is a tsundere and why siegward hasn't ever seen past her exterior before. all of the characters have a lot of stuff going on, and despite juggling the three romances the story still manages to have a lot of genuine intrigue over what exactly is going on with this weird supernatural save file and parts of the world the game originally didn't let the characters see, as well as having time to flesh out a really good friendship/sisterhood between liselotte and the heroine.
I want a funny villainess reincarnation story with a well-characterized protagonist with romance that isn't the focus of the story: you want 悪役令嬢レベル99~私は裏ボスですが魔王ではありません~/Villainess Level 99 ~I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord~! the protagonist was reincarnated into eumiella, the secret final boss of an otome rpg who also serves as a villainess in the main game. eumiella is isolated from a young age due to her dark magic, but since she only really cared about the RPG part of the game as a toddler she has the idea to grind up so she can survive the otome part and eventually flee the country. her balls to the wall "blow the monster summoning charm and kill everything that attacks me" soloing strategy means that by the time she enrolls in magic academy she's hit level 99, which means that she can do shit like summon a black hole that swallows the sky above the entire academy or bend mithril with her bare hands. partly due to her isolation from a young age and partly due to her past life eumiella is a pepetually stone-faced hyper-introvert who doesn't care about anything except getting stronger, although she eventually grows a tiny soft spot for her first true friend, patrick, who has an unrequited(for now) crush on her that he's not really expecting to go anywhere. eumiella is not a coward's weird girl, she's genuinely off-putting to most people and although she's not malicious she's also not nice to people who don't benefit her. this is a compliment, one of my favorite things about eumiella is that she sticks to her guns! she makes enemies of all of the love interests and most of the school almost immediately because she keeps almost killing people, not because she's a sadist, but because her gamer mindset means she views deadly magic and summoning high-level monsters on students as acceptable risks for leveling up.
I want a villainess story that is a drama with a morally complicated protagonist/with really good visuals/with heavy worldbuilding: you want 悪役令嬢の中の人/The One Within The Villainess! this series was made in a laboratory for me. emi is a sweetheart of a protagonist who's reincarnated as the villainess remilia, her favorite character who she always wanted to give a happy ending, and has a heartwarming story of fixing all the tragedies of the original game and making everyone happy....... until the original heroine, pina, arrives and pulls some puppetmaster manipulation that ends up with emi facing the tragic condemnation she tried so hard to avoid, which drives her into the depths of despair, at which point remilia, who has been watching emi from her subconscious this entire time and narrating the story, reawakens in her/their body and vows revenge on everyone who made her beloved emi suffer, especially pina. remilia's twin motivations of wanting to get horrific painful revenge on her enemies and wanting to build the happy, peaceful world she knows needs to exist for emi to return to her make remilia a very engaging and complicated protagonist with a lot of stuff going on in her head. the story isn't perfect, my main gripe is that pina's manipulation centers around her sexuality and so she's aggressively slut-shamed which is frustrating because among other things having her be able to also manipulate women would make her a much more threatening antagonist. seasoned villainess manga fans are used to much worse, but that's not an excuse for a frankly lazy characterization in an otherwise standout story.
I want a story with the vibe of a villainess manga that's not actually about the villainess/I want a story that really reckons with "escaping the narrative" of an otome game: you want 乙女ゲームのヒロインで最強サバイバル/Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival! alicia is the protagonist of an otome game who gets ambushed while she's still in the orphanage by a woman who reincarnated as an unimportant side character who learned black magic to swap their souls so she can take over as the protagonist. alicia kills her, but is left with her memories and is not interested in playing along with the otome game's storyline, so she escapes the orphanage and tries to find her own way of surviving, although she can't fully escape the characters of the original story, especially the villainess. otome survival really makes you consider how much it would suck to realize your shitty situation is being manufactured for the sake of a romance you don't even want, and alicia's desperation to find strength and success without being forced into that narrative is compelling. like i said it's not technically a villainess manga, but it's definitely a variant of the concept. it's in the tag.
I want a villainess manhwa that is representative of the genre and done well: you want 계모인데 딸이 너무 귀여워/Not-Sew-Wicked Stepmom! villainess manhwa are an overlapping but not identical genre to villainess manga. villainess manhwa in general tend to have adult protagonists or at least protagonists who become adults, and they also tend to make the love interest also be a villain or even sometimes the villain, with the heroine being his wife/daughter/sister/mother/elevated side character/pet lizard. not-sew-wicked stepmom has the children's fashion designer protagonist reincarnated as abigail, the abusive stepmother of blanche and estranged second wife of her father who won't even sleep in the same room as his spouse. abigail has to figure out how to repair her relationship with both of them and give blanche the happy childhood with lots of cute clothes her daughter deserves. aside from generally just Being Good with a strong protagonist, this story is surprisingly deft at handling the topic of abuse, both blanche's and her father's. it's hard to make a cold emotionally repressed love interest not annoying but giving him a very very good reason to distrust abigail and not want her anywhere near him or his daughter does the trick, and their eventual opening up to her after she starts to earn both of their trust is sweet. unfortunately, it has not updated in two years.
EDIT: The second season is out now!
I want a good villainess-ish manhwa that has updated in the last two years please: okay 장르를 바꿔보도록 하겠습니다/the villainess flips the script is technically a villainess manhwa but it becomes a straightforward romance pretty quickly and due to the premise where nobody knows the protagonist used to be a villainess it doesn't really read like a villainess manhwa. 남편은 됐고, 돈이나 벌렵니다/forget about my husband i'd rather make money reads like a villainess manhwa but isn't technically one. 여주의 시스콤 오빠와 이혼하겠습니다/i will divorce the female lead's older brother also reads like a villainess manhwa despite not being one but it only really hits if you've read a lot of really dogshit reincarnation romance manhwa so it's a bad first start, and its most available translation is REALLY rough as in most chapters have bubbles left blank or uncleaned so they're just overlaid over the raw korean text.
I want a good starter villainess manhwa that has updated in the last two years please: 입양딸 역할을 지나치게 잘해버렸다/I Played The Role Of The Adopted Daughter Too Well is pretty good except for all the bad parts!
#villainess isekai#if you want a list of really terrible villainess manga/manhwa that are fun to read thats a different list
