Secrets, inter-agency conflicts, bureaucracy, and Kent the redactor in "The Mauritanian"
Stuart Couch, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, looks at the case file of Slahi about 13 minutes into the film, and begins to hear the government’s narrative of what they “know” about Slahi. It is true that he did fight with al-Qaeda in the 1990s, but his involvement after that is only “proved” with torture
When I started watching The Mauritanian on Netflix, I didn’t know that records would be such…

🎬🔍 Unveiling "The Mauritanian" (2021) Poster: An Intersectional Perspective 🌟🔴
🔴 Red Symbolism: The predominant red hue of the poster may evoke themes of intensity, passion, and urgency. Red often conveys a sense of danger or importance, suggesting the weighty subject matter and high-stakes narrative of the film.
👥 Representation in Focus: The individual photos of the actors, accompanied by their names in bold white text, highlight the diverse cast and emphasize their roles in the story. This visual layout celebrates the talent and contributions of each actor, promoting visibility and recognition.
🌟 Starry Tribute: The image of Tahar Rahim, tinted in blue and surrounded by six stars with stripes bleeding down, offers a striking visual motif. The stars could symbolize hope, justice, or freedom, while the fading stripes may represent the struggle for truth and the erosion of barriers or injustices.
🎭 Character Dynamics: Rahim's position and expression, looking upward with a sense of determination or contemplation, suggest a pivotal role in the narrative. The blue tint could signify resilience or perseverance amidst adversity, contrasting with the surrounding red palette.

I don't like Jodie Foster. She's decided to let her true personality show and it is something quite brittle to behold. I'll remind people she happily has her ass in The Mauritanian, which was full of depictions of torture, starring an A List actor, that we all now know has been put through actual torture from both COS and the Hollywood Gay Mafia. It was set at Quantanamo Bay, and one of the A lister's tormentors, David Birkin, had military access. Fuck this bitch. I'm sure she enjoyed every bit of watching him suffer. Also not watching True Detective because it looks like they've gone and Queered that, too. If you're wondering at the extreme hubris going on, currently, in Hollywood, it's because the rich never had to worry about the same rules that everyday people and that includes everyday LGB had to.
If I have to be more blunt, I will:
SILENCE OF THE LAMBS WAS PRE-PROGRAMMING. DO WE OR DO WE NOT, CURRENTLY HAVE TRANS IDENTIFYING MALES, TRYING TO DESTROY WOMEN?

THE MAURITANIAN (2021)
Grade: C+
Hooks you in quickly, 2nd act was slow. Not enough with the Benedict Cumberbatch character changing his mind. That was interesting. Needed more. Last 5 min or so felt rush.
