Idk if this is a hot take or if I’m an apologist but Maximus admitting that he wanted that to happen to Dane doesn’t necessarily make him a bad person to me. And I don’t think it’s as terrible as it sounds. I definitely think it was more of an intrusive thought. Maybe he entertained the idea when he was having an emotional outburst over the news. Or when it actually happened he might’ve had the brief moment of elation. But from what I gathered of Max after watching the show, he was probably ashamed afterwards and was like “I’m not supposed to have these thoughts”.

it's always been odd to me that people characterize burnham's "a white woman's instagram" as a misogynistic song hypocritically mocking white women because the way i assume it was meant to be interpreted was like, pointing out how odd it is that he can describe these cliches and you know exactly what he's talking about, the strange mix of sincerity and phoniness of the instagram persona (there is a real person in the mix with real feelings, she shares grief for her mother alongside aesthetic pictures of food but that grief is also expressed along the lines of a script we're all very familiar with), it's genuine enjoyment of these newly codified Twee White Girl tropes mixed with the cynical need to perform that identity for an audience that can possibly be monetized. white woman's instagram is a really simple song about the core contradiction of online life! it's not just about dunking on basic white bitches or whatever!

i had a dream last night that bob odenkirk (saul goodman) and bo burnham turned out to be the same person. like. okay. let me explain.

i was talking to bob odenkirk - why, i can't tell you. we were having a conversation, and i jokingly said "hey, saul" and he responded, indignantly, and with an oddly placed rage about him, "saul? who's saul?"

i felt embarrassment creep up on me - how i dare i make a joke pertaining to a character he played! celebrities hate that (apparently)! but then it all started clicking.

i don't exactly know why it started clicking. maybe it was because i was thinking about names and parallels, but my eyes widened as i thought "bob odenkirk.. bo burnham..."

within a matter of seconds, it all made sense. the names sounded so similar (according to myself); i was talking to bo burnhamkirk, and then the world turned upside down.

suddenly, he looks pale as a ghost. a tv turns on. it's blaring the headline:

and i literally cannot remember anything else past this.

So that was it.

She didn’t feel pain as her body went limp and came crashing down to the floor. There was noise around her, shooting probably. No. Someone was shouting.

Her name. It had to be him; it was always him. She wanted to call for him, but found that her voice was failing her.

Again, closer this time. The world moved, a blur in front of her eyes. A slow blink. When she looked up, she found herself staring at an oh so familiar silver helmet.

Din.

How she longed to reach up to him. Touch him one last time, tell him everything she could no longer articulate.

Please.

And then his helmet came off, and their eyes met for the first time. He was talking to her, pleading, but nothing was reaching her anymore. All she could was look into his dark eyes, at all the stories they told her. In another life she would’ve loved to listen to them under a starlit sky. She would’ve loved to be by his side as he led her through the darkest corners of his heart. And she knew he would’ve been there for her when she did the same for him. He would’ve held her when she mentioned Satine, the sister that was her polar opposite and yet the first person to love her regardless of all wrongdoings.

But not in this life. In this life all she could do was look at him and tell him she was sorry; Sorry for leaving him and Grogu behind, for burdening him with the task of ruling Mandalore alone. Sorry for all the time they never had. Sorry for never telling him what he truly meant to her.

 Perhaps, in the end, she was just like her sister.
