I came across this book while shopping for a very different book, and every time I scrolled past it I misread it as "The Last Trainer". Which sounds like some kind of dystopian novel about a gym bro who uses his personal trainer skills to found a post-apocalyptic cult of some kind.
I can see the subhead now... "It's about what we lose...but also about our gains."
[ID: A screengrab of a plain black book cover with white and blue print; the title is "The LSAT Trainer: a remarkable self-study guide for the self-driven student" by Mike Kim. Because LSAT doesn't look like a word, it's easy to misread it as "The Last Trainer", especially since LSAT is in blue.]

2ha legally blonde au where mo ran goes to harvard to chase after the love of his life shi mei, but ends up falling in love with his uptight law professor after he gets chosen as a student intern for a huge murder case.
Listen okay frat president mo ran who barely got into a state school. He falls head over heels for shi mei, the head of his uni's nhs and a pre-med major to boot. After shi mei rejects mo ran bc mo ran isn't "serious enough" mo ran decides to buckle down and get into harvard to convince shi mei otherwise.
Once he gets there though he's constantly looked down upon for being stupid and low class, but seeing shi mei's shocked expression in the hallway made it all worth it. That is, until mo ran walks into his first class with the absolutely gorgeous but notoriously uptight professor chu wanning, who promptly throws mo ran out of class for not having the assignment completed.
Mo ran is FURIOUS, and immediately resolves to ace chu wanning's class just to spite his uptight professor, who looks at mo ran and only sees him as this stupid, shallow frat boy, just like the rest of his classmates.
Mo ran tears into his schoolwork like mad, only taking breaks to head to the small, local gym to box with his trainer turned friend, ye wangxi. Ye wangxi has been in love with her childhood friend nangong Si, who owns the small gym. Unfortunately, nangong si is too blockheaded to see her feelings, and ye wangxi is too afraid of messing things up between them. So mo ran teaches her some tricks to seduce nangong si (insert the bend and snap here).
One night, mo ran gets an invite to a costume party. he shows up in a pair of bunny ears and dark blue booty shorts, his chest bare and member bulging through the fabric. When he shows up though, nobody else is in costume. He storms into the party and ignores the resounding laughter, managing to find shi mei in the corner with his glass of merlot. They get onto the topic of prof chu wanning's fall internship program, which is notoriously hard to get into.
"I was thinking of applying for it, actually,” mo ran says, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. Shi mei smiles at him, and tilts his head to the side slightly.
"Are you sure, A-Ran?" He asks, his eyes wide and his expression innocent. "It's just that...it's a super competitive internship, and well, I wouldn’t want you to feel hurt in the event that you don’t get in.”
Brightest."
Mo ran blinks. "Um, I mean, I got into harvard, didn't I? Got a 179 on my lsats, got into all of your classes too. That's gotta mean something, right?"
Shi mei sighs, genuinely looking sorry for mo ran. "Well, yes, but...you know what you're like, mo ran."
“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” Mo Ran growls. Shi Mei looks to the side, swirling his merlot. Mo Ran’s stomach sinks to the ground.
"Shi Mei...I'll never be enough for you, will I?"
He doesnt want to know the answer. But when shi mei bites his lips and sighs out a weary, "A-ran..." He already knows.
He leaves. Fighting back tears as the rain starts to pour down, mo ran stands under the rain in his stupid little shorts and his waterlogged bunny ears, wishing he'd never come to harvard.
Then, from behind him, a startled call of, "Mo Ran?!"
Mo ran turns. Professor Chu Wanning stands a lil ways behind him, holding a yellow, floral umbrella while he gapes at Mo ran.
"Don't ask." Mo ran growls, wiping a hand over his face. He misses the way his professor's eyes cling to the VERY prominent bulge in his rain-soaked shorts.
"I wasn't going to." Chu wanning snaps back.
Mo ran grits his teeth. He is having an awful day, he's soaked to the bone, and he does not want to stand here with his most hated professor staring down his nose at him. It surprises him then, when a yellow, floral-printed umbrella is shoved into his hands. "You're going to catch a cold in that shameless attire," Chu wanning snaps at him, sliding his coat off to wrap it around his briefcase.
Mo ran's eyes dart to his professor's ill-fitting white button down, now partly translucent as the rain begins to soak it through. He's never noticed how...tiny his professor's waist is. Like so tiny, mo ran's hands could probably almost wrap around it entirely.
He's an erotic sight in his now entirely see-through shirt, clinging to his body and leaving very little to the imagination.
"If you have time to party, then you have time to check the forecast." Chu wanning looks at mo ran once more, standing completely still under the yellow umbrella chu wanning had handed him, before hurriedly looking away. "Now get back to your dorm before I write you up for public indecency."
Then he's gone, tearing off with nothing but his briefcase, wrapped in his own coat for protection.
Mo ran stands there is shocked silence, watching chu wanning's figure disappear in the downpour.
Mo ran slowly climbs to the top of his classes, and the people around campus start to respect him. Mo ran's habit of jogging shirtless has certainly helped his reputation with the ladies. Shi mei has hardly looked his way, but now the spell he's had over mo ran has been absolutely shattered, so mo ran focuses on pouring himself into his studies instead.
When he comes into class, chu wanning makes no indication that he even remembers that rainy night, let alone wishes to discuss it. He pushes mo ran harder than before, but the memory of that night dilutes mo ran's hatred for the man.
It's still a surprise to him however, when the list of people handpicked by the prof himself for chu wanning's internship program come out and mo ran's name is on the list.

how i'm studying for the lsat
hi all ! i just wanted to share some things that i’ve found are helping me study for the lsat. if you have any tips or advice for me, please let me know ! i’m always looking for more ideas on how to improve. anyway, here are my lsat tips :
daily drills : i’m taking the lsat in november which is coming up fast, so at this point i’m now trying to drill for at least an hour every single day. i’ll usually give myself the weekend off (because breaks are essential too <3), but sometimes if i’ve got nothing planned and i’m up to it, i’ll do some light drills
double revision : after i complete a section, i’ll go back to my incorrect answers and review them before moving onto the next section. but i also make note of those questions so that i can attempt them again another day that is dedicated to that section type.
reading : i do have the LSAT Trainer by Mike Kim which is an amazing resource i would recommend if you’re self-studying like me. some study days i’ll just spend time reading a few chapters and attempting some questions with his tips and advice
practice tests : these are super essential ! i’m signed up with Khan Academy and LawHub.org (both of which i 100000% recommend !!) so i have access to several practice tests. some i’ll do while timing myself and mimicking testing conditions, and others i’ll use almost like a study guide. for example, i recently saved one practice test purely to go through and see if i can identify the question types, argument types, main ideas/supports etc.
note for LawHub.org : while this is undoubtedly an amazing resource, it isn’t free like Khan Academy. it was quite expensive for me but i was fortunate at the time to have the money to spend on it, but even just using Khan Academy on its own is more than enough. personally, i mostly use LawHub.org for the online courses it offers, but i love the extra practice tests i have access to as well !
that’s pretty much it ! i hope this is helpful, and again please feel free to give me a shout if you think i’m missing something beneficial
happy studying everyone, we got this !!
with love,
H

My last comment on the nonsense:
I spoke earlier, when I was taking the LSAT, about how my job is ultimately going to be "protecting millionaires from billionaires."
There are ethical ways to make a million dollars. Acting is one way. Singing is another. Inventing a life-changing product. Playing pro sports.
In fact, pro sports are probably one of the most ethical ways to make a million dollars. You can only play for a very short period of time, and the amount of wear the job puts on your body means a lifetime of pain and medical complications.
Yes, the average NHL player is making $3 million now. They lose 30% to taxes. 10% to their agent and another 5% to their publicist. They need to have two houses. They need personal trainers to stay in shape for the upcoming season. When they retire, that $3 million has to stretch over the next 50 years as they navigate sciatica, busted kneecaps, broken clavicles, and all that dental work.
Don't blame the players. Blame the owners.

The way in which we build our skills is analogous to the way we build up our wealth, and in both endeavors, multiplication is a far more powerful force than addition. Simply put, when we learn by multiplying what we know, by connecting ideas, and by building upon the skills we've already developed, we learn far faster and far more effectively than when we learn in pieces—when we try to learn one thing at a time and when we try to simply add up the things we learn into some kind of whole. As we make our study plans, and as we think about the path that we are going to be taking toward mastery, one of the best things we can do is recognize the value of compound learning.

LSAT
Hi! Saw ur post about ur delayed lsat score (I am manifesting for u)
How did u study? Was it self studying??? Like, plsss help. Idk where to start. I already completed my undergrad, and while i don't have any motivation, the overwhelmingness of not knowing how or where to start studying freaks me out. Help lol
Hi! I took a year off from undergrad. I’m low income/first gen immigrant so I was able to get a fee waiver which I was able to get 7Sage for free essentially and their tier 2 for like 6 months.. I’m not a big believer of sitting there just taking a practice test so I drilled plenty using their app. LR is my worse section of to date, it goes either way.
I had studied before but not seriously, I worked full time and was very active in school with honor societies and clubs/internships so I couldn’t take it same time as my peers big discouraged here for me but I got through it.
I started with a 145 cold diagnostic and of the five actual PTs I did the last 2 were 160’s from studying 3 months.
I also did blueprint at the start, personally I thought I blew my money off with them. I just wasn’t feeling their live classes but I did learned a few tricks from them ngl. (I got it through Afterpay lol and I’m still paying for that ugh)
I also read their lsat booklet, it helped me with the understanding of foundations! And I also read through the Mike Kim Lsat book (lsat trainer)….psttt there is a free pdf online somewhere.
Drilling worked for me bc I easily get burn out. My motivation was my dad and a friend of mine who also was planing to take the LSAT. My dad is a tough love kind of guy so I specifically told him to act like that one coach from that one women baseball movie… NO CRYING IN BASEBALL. I thrive for competition so someone telling me I’m crap at something helps me keep going to prove them wrong 😭😂
On test day, since I got nervous bc one of my LR’s was just so hard and I guessed!! for the first time whilst taking the test ever. They were educated guesses but just the idea of guessing made me feel like crap.
If i could do anything different I will take more full time PT’s online. I thought I was going to get accommodations for my adhd but never got approved so I thought I could do the test in pen and paper. This was a big changer because I could bore you and argue some sections are easier on pencil and paper and much faster than online (cough cough RC!)
I would say always go on a run or do some sort of thing to stay active and not burn out/get motivation when studying. Hype yourself up or make someone do it if nothing else work. Don’t lose hope. You got this!
Good luck!
Ps: if you’re not seeing any improvement/hitting a plateau don’t get discourage or shut down. This means you’re starting to get burnt out so do something else. Take breaks. It’s a marathon not a sprint

day 4 of lsat studying
Today was my first day of really focusing on reading comprehension. RC worried me at first because it was way harder than what I was expecting, since I’m usually good with RC. I’m using the lsat trainer by mike kim and it focuses a lot on finding patterns in the different passages and recognizing which info to focus on and which parts you can skip over, which is super helpful at getting through the passages faster. I think so far the best section of the book has been RC which feels more productive than a lot of the tediousness that comes with the LG section. For LG today I was mostly just doing tons of set up drills which I understand are important but gets boring.
Schedule for today: 1.5 hours of work for my internship, 1.5 hours on reading comp, almost 1.5 hours on logic games

Out of context things I've written in my LSAT prep book
-You slave to the clothing industry.
-Why must toes have purpose?
-They could’ve been very good, just not delicious.
-You might just really suck at building things.
-She could go jogging 6 hours a day, you fool.
-Maybe Sean doesn’t WANT to be a financial advisor.
-Maybe Tom was super late because he tried to get past TSA in a suit of armor.
-Just because they’re biased doesn’t prove that they lied.
-This could be a 25 cent lemonade stand for all we know!
-People who don’t like your ice cream probably won’t buy it again.
-Not if your towels are $20,000!!!
-The opinion of 5-year-olds can be used to fairly evaluate all movies.
-You take for granted that intelligent boys will be good boyfriends.
-A whale’s composing ability is a good reflection of overall intelligence.
-Bias is a hindrance to democracy.
(Book is “The LSAT Trainer” by Mike King. 11/10 would recommend)

LSAT prep will be the death of me
After being in a slump and not feeling motivated to continue with my LSAT studies, I have a found a better program to complete for the next 8.3 weeks and am starting to feel re-energized. I decided to invest in 7Sage Starter and Mike Kim’s The LSAT Trainer (2016). Between the easy to comprehend explanations of LR and LG and the weekly video lessons, I’m confident that I’m on a better track to LSAT success than I once was.
While my anxiety towards the exam hasn’t completely subsided, I am backed by the encouragement of my family, friends and peers who truly do believe in me and I know that I am more than capable of achieving my goals.
On my next post I will go deeper into my comprehensive study schedule and will post some tips that may be helpful to others.
