Nagisa goes over the plan one last time, as much of it as he can before it sets into motion. When Priest arrives, Nagisa will have to play along with whatever he says. He won’t let the disguise fool him.

Nagisa bows his head, closes his eyes as the door clicks open and a frantic “Hiyori” steps in. Nagisa lifts his head. The real Hiyori would have certainly embraced him by now. His body aches for the touch (just ignore it for now).

We have to leave right away! Don’t you see what Crazy:B is saying on stage?! You could be arrested, Nagisa! Of course, but he must take responsibility for his actions if that is the case. Though, his fans might be disappointed. Nagisa reaches unconsciously for “Hiyori’s” hand, only for the fake to pull away, keep his distance. Nagisa feels cold.

I’ll take you to the car, it’s waiting outside. Please, Nagisa! Yes, Hiyori, let's go. You’ll come with me, won’t you? Of course dummy, I wouldn’t be Hiyori otherwise. “Hiyori” stomps out of the dressing room, barely looking back at Nagisa. All according to plan.

Even as the car pulls up and “Hiyori” tries to coerce Nagisa into it, they don’t touch for even a second. The warmth will return soon. Just ignore the cold for now.

The car door opens and the driver signals that he’s ready. Nagisa tells “Hiyori” that he knows it isn’t him. Even the most perfect of disguises could never imitate the touch of a loved one. Priest’s cold hands could never replace Hiyori’s warmth.

From shadows you are, and to shadows you shall return, as is the way of the underworld. Though Father was a shining light, you, Priest, were nothing but a shadow, a mere imitation of the real thing, you will never be human like that, but I suppose I should thank you for letting me experience the fullness of human emotions; rage, anger, hurt, these are all a part of being human. Do not underestimate me for being who I am, I was a member of fine who slaughtered the hopes and dreams of many, building a new life from the ashes, which is more than can be said of something like you. As your God, you will be condemned to hellfire for eternity.

The man, now a fraction of his former self, sits in the backseat meant for Nagisa as the driver locked him in place. The Doorman is no longer on your side, Priest, and it would be foolish to assume I haven’t interfered with your plans now. The car speeds off as steps pound on the pavement behind him.

Nagisa! There you are! Junkun told me you were doing something dangerous! Nagisa’s heart picks up at the sound. His Hiyori, the real one, warm and full of life. He pulls Hiyori into a hug for just a moment, inhaling the perfume Hiyori always wears and letting it settle over them. I thought we promised to always trust each other! Why’d you go to Junkun about this but not me? Nagisa smiles and allows Hiyori to drag him back to the venue, hand in hand. We’ll talk later, Hiyori, we have something to finish after all.

The Quality Dip in Enstars' Writing

Enstars' writing quality has always been a little up and down. I've read through a decent chunk of Basic not ALL of the stories are bangers but the ones that hit, they hit hard. There's a reason we all still talk about stories like Meteor Impact or Checkmate or, hell, my personal favorite: Requiem.

Although I think there are some really strong stories in Music like Sudden Death and Obbligato, I think that for the most part we can all agree that the writing isn't up to par. I think the first warning signs any of us really got that things were going into the shitter tho was Mad Tea Party. KnightsP kicked up a fuss about the continuity error but despite that little controversy, the errors in the stories just seem to be growing worse. From massive character pivots like Kuro suddenly treating sewing like it's just a cute little hobby to Natsume acting completely out of character in Switch climax, it seems like the writers have stopped treating the stories with the same care and attention to detail that the major stories in Basic era had. And it's really sad.

The Enstars writers have announced that they'll no longer be credited on stories (source), I think it's pretty obvious WHY they're doing this. People were NOT happy with the new Alkakurei event and leaving out the names of the writers working on the stories will certainly mitigate the harassment. I want to firmly state that sending death threats is NOT and will never be okay but I do think that it's a little alarming to know that the Enstars staff don't seem to be learning from the mistakes of the past year.

I'm a KnightsP. I'm highly biased. Although I do not condone the actions of fans who took it too far (again sending death threats is NOT the answer) I had hoped that the fuss would discourage Happy Elements from being careless with the stories in the future. People are so, so attached to these characters. The fans are passionate, motivated, highly creative people who have kept this franchise alive for NINE years. It's important to listen to their feedback so long as it's reasonable and calmly stated. I had hoped that the KnightsP were big enough that they could prevent other units from suffering a similar fate. It's kind of obvious that it isn't going to happen though. Stories continue to release that completely contradict previously established lore and mischaracterize the idols we've come to love.

I know it's hard to the writers to heed every single story ever written. There is a MASSIVE amount of lore to Enstars that has occurred over the past nine years. I also think however that just putting in the effort would go a long way to appease fans. Right now it feels like some of the writers are doing the bare minimum research for a franchise that used to have a lot of love and care put into it. If fanfic writers who put all this love and creativity into the world for free can afford to have beta readers I think Mr. Happy Elements has the means to do it too.

TLDR: I guess what I'm saying is, I've been disappointed by the quality of story writing this past year and I don't see it improving without Happy Elements taking in constructive feedback. I sincerely hope the new change in anonymity allows the writers more freedom to be creative and expressive but I don't think that will be the case.

Chess’ former members: Ahahahahahaha.

Izumi: …Mikejima, what is it that you need to talk about? It’s about time for the stage to start, I need to do my makeup, change my clothes… I’m busy, though.

Madara: Hm. I thought that you needed to know, see. So I thought of telling you quietly, you know?

Izumi: …Haa?

Madara: On that day, I was passing by this archery club’s practice field. And I heard the voice of a cat crying inside, as if asking for help. I entered here, and I witnessed that appearance of Leo-san.

*Little John meows*

Leo: Hm~♪ Hm~♪ Hm~♪ Hm~♪ *Leo sings a melody*

Madara: …! *Madara was surprised and hurried to rush inside, but stop in the middle of the way, while gritting his teeth*

With the flowing blood from his broken right hand as a writing tool, Leo-san was writing music scores, and composing a song with his blood. While crying, he was saying this:

Leo: I’m happy…! This is the first time I’m feeling such pain! What a fortunate moment, ahahaha! Ah, it’s flowing, it’s flowing here…! Inspiration! Ahahahaha…!

Madara: I rushed to the infirmary to call for help, but when I came back, Leo-san was gone.

Izumi: I see.

(So after that, he came to my place, in the practice room…)

Madara: I investigated, and finally I got it. This place has become a kind of hanging out place for delinquents and those bad guys with no ethic, you see?That day too, they played and did bad things to the cat that got lost here. It’s a very disgusting, bad story, though. They used lighters to burn it, used arrows to hurt it. That was how it came to Leo-san trying to stop them using his body. And the result of it, was like that. The delinquents got scared and they ran off, apparently. Then that’s how I found out. When I saw that appearance of Leo-san, I was too shocked. I thought, perhaps because of the unbearable pain, something has gone off in Leo-san’s head. But the truth, it was not like that.

Madara: Leo-san was trying his best desperately in telling himself: “It’s no one’s fault. This is not a tragedy. If else, I’m feeling happy. Using this experience, I can write out a great masterpiece!” That’s what he must have thought in his head.

Izumi: …That guy… Leo-kun is… an idiot with a good heart of a person, so something like hating other people– he can’t truly hate anyone from the bottom of his heart. And that’s why in Chess, he’s being used delightly by other people.

Madara: Hm. If you have comprehended that much, then I would like for you to watch for Leo-san carefully, closely by his side. That child is fragile. I am trying my best as his friend, but I can’t always remain by his side to watch him. But you, you’re his comrade and his equivalent, aren’t you? So I’m begging you. Please don’t make that good child unhappy.

Izumi: …Even if you told me that…! I am just a fellow unit member… not his family, or even a friend. I’m busy with myself already and have other things to fulfil. I can’t take care of each and every one of his problems.

Leo: Aah Sena~! Se~na, just where have you gone off to? The audiences have entered and gathered here, you know!

Arashi: Hey, hey, Izumi-chan. All the members of our opposing units have surrendered, right? Then, you don’t need extra helping members, right? *Arashi looks at Ritsu*

Ritsu: Um. *Ritsu nods his head at Arashi*

Izumi: *Izumi looks around*…Where are Tenshouin and Aoba?

Leo: They have gone back! I asked them to. I’m the leader, you see. I have that much of an authority, right?

Ritsu: Well, us too…

Arashi: Can go back home, right?

Leo: No! You guys should go sing. From what I’ve seen you guys are pretty good. I’m also curious and want to see how your singing voice sounds!
