HELP WANTED! Where/when is this photo from?

The origins of this Gerard Way photo have alluded me too long. I’ve seen it all over Pinterest and tumblr and I’ve scoured the internet and My Chemical Romance archives and cannot find it.

Posted my query on Reddit but no one knew on there either. Some assumptions about it being pre-2004(due to haircut, proximity, and possible booger sugar nosebleed). Could also NOT be a live performance photo. I’m desperate for My Chemical Romance experts to help me in my quest PLEASE HEAR MY PLEAS.

I thought tumblr might appreciate a jacket reveal of sorts :0

All patches are hand painted except for the fish + bats, and the beads + trim are also sewn on by hand! I just used standard dental floss for everything :D

Some of the patches aren’t fully sewn on as I wanted to attach as many as possible in time for wwwy, but as my right hand is broken I was working at half my usual pace lol

I’ll definitely keep this updated as I add more patches! This is my first real sewing project and it’s been quite fun so far :P

marina toybina really waltzed into the my chemical romance world and proposed working on the tour herself and then got the job, proceeded to pull that cheerleader dress out in the matter of a few weeks, absolutely knocked it out of the park for the entire tour, got gerard on the new york times best dressed people of 2022, made a chainmail gown and generally was behind one of the most lifechanging events for mcr fans and trans people, is the first known public figure to use they/them for gerard way in writing, then did a podcast saying that the universe was behind all this and it was fate and destiny, and used both he/him and they/them for gerard out loud for ten whole minutes, then designed the most cunty secretary look ever and waited until several days after tour to tell us it was her. motherfucker i love her so much. welcome to the family marina
