On January 12, 2010, the Caribbean nation of Haiti experienced a devastating earthquake, which took more than 100,000 lives and left 200,000+ injured and 900,000+ homeless — about 10 percent of the country’s population.
It was one of the Western hemisphere’s greatest natural disasters, and nations like the United States rushed to the aid of Haiti — one of the world’s poorest nations — to help the country’s citizens recover and rebuild.
Tumblr media
The Obama administration, working via Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, appointed former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush coordinators of U.S. relief efforts. Bill Clinton specifically was put in charge of billions of dollars that flowed from the U.S. and other nations to Haiti.
To date, the U.S. alone has given over $3.1 billion via its United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organization — which works out to more than $300 for each Haitian citizen.
Who benefited from all this aid? Perhaps unsurprisingly, almost no Haitians.
Tumblr media
More than six years after the disaster, much damage and ruin from the calamity are still in evidence. Many of those made homeless are still without permanent housing.
Almost none of the money given in aid ended up going to the people who need it the most — instead, it went to foreign governments, private companies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as the Red Cross.
The Red Cross alone took in as much as $486 million for relief efforts yet ended up building a mere six homes in its relief efforts, as a recent audit of that organization’s efforts discovered. (It should be noted that the CEO of the American Red Cross, Gail McGovern, receives a salary of more than $1,000,000 per year.)
One-third of each of the USAID dollars went to reimbursing the U.S. military for its intervention actions. More than $220 million went to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, about $150 million went to the U.S. Department of Agriculture and $350 million went straight back to USAID. By some estimates, only one cent of every dollar made it to the government of Haiti.
For other countries helping with relief efforts, the split was similar. After accounting for militaries, civilian entities, NGOs, private contractors and the Red Cross, as little as one percent of the money made it to the Haitian government.
In the wake of the disaster, the government of Haiti set up the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC), co-chaired by Bill Clinton and former Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive. Nearly 1500 government contracts were awarded to companies providing relief aid.
The U.S. Ambassador to Haiti at the time, Kenneth Merten, sent a cable to Hillary Clinton’s State Department entitled, “The Gold Rush Is On.” Out of the nearly 1500 contracts, just 23 were awarded to Haitian companies — nearly 40 percent of the contracts were awarded to companies in the Washington, D.C. area.
A number of members of the IHRC later wrote a letter saying that it was Clinton and Bellerive who made many of the most important monetary decisions early in the recovery process, effectively shutting them out.
A number of Haitian groups even had trouble getting into the meetings where discussions about the aid were ongoing; most of the meetings were not held or translated into Creole, one of the two national languages of Haiti.
Many claimed that numerous decisions were not made in Haitians’ best interests. Many groups further claimed that the Clintons were closely connected to individuals who benefitted highly from government contracts following the earthquake.
One of those close connections was Irish billionaire Denis O’Brien, the founder of cellphone company Digicel, which set up an emergency method for Haitians to transfer money via their cellphones. Digicel received millions of dollars in money from USAID for this effort.
Clinton appointed O’Brien the chairman of the Haiti Action Network, an outreach program of the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Global Initiative. In a cover story in Esquire magazine, Bill Clinton was quoted as saying, “Wouldn’t it be great if [Haiti] became the first [100%] wireless nation in the world? They could, I’m telling you; they really could.”
While the former president’s vision did not effectively come to pass, Digicel was able to earn a tidy $50 million from their disaster-recovery efforts in just six months. By 2012, the company had managed to take over 80 percent of the country’s cellphone market and made more money in Haiti than in any of the firm’s other global divisions.
In the meantime, Bill Clinton gave a $225,000 speech at an event Digicel sponsored in Jamaica while O’Brien made multimillion-dollar donations to the Bill and Hillary’s Clinton Foundation.
In an article on the earthquake by reporter Janet Reitman of Rolling Stone, it was reported that another contractor in Haiti was New York-based consulting firm Dalberg Global Development Advisors.
Reitman’s article found that Dalberg’s staff “had never lived overseas, didn’t have any disaster experience or background in urban planning… never carried out any program activities on the ground…” and only one of the team spoke French, the other official language of Haiti. USAID looked at their work and “it became clear that these people may not have even gotten out of their SUVs.”
In Peter Schweizer’s best-selling book-turned-film Clinton Cash, it was revealed that Hillary Clinton’s brother Tony Rodham received one of only two rare gold mining permits granted by the Haitian government in the last 50 years.
Rodham’s tiny company, VCS Mining (which at the time had scant mining experience), had a heavyweight board that included — surprise — Bill Clinton and the IHRC’s Jean-Max Bellerive. VCS received a sweetheart deal from the Haitian government, to whom it would only owe royalties of 2.5 percent, a rate that’s less than half of a standard contract, according to many in the mining industry.
Not only that, but VCS received the right to renew its contract for 25 years. In court testimony published by The New York Times, Rodham was quoted as saying, “I deal through the Clinton Foundation. That gets me in touch with Haitian officials. I hound my brother-in-law [Bill Clinton] because it’s his fund that we’re going to get our money from. And he can’t do it until the Haitian government does it.”
Yet another deal the Clintons made was for a Korean manufacturer named Sae-A to set up factories in a business zone called the Caracol Industrial Park. The opening of Caracol was a splashy event, with both of the Clintons in attendance along with fashion designer Donna Karan and celebrities Ben Stiller and Sean Penn.
As it turns out, Sae-A manufactures apparel for U.S. brands (such as Donna Karan’s) who happen to be big supporters of the Clintons. At the time, the State Department said that Caracol would provide 65,000 jobs to the Haitian community; to date, only 5,000 of those jobs have materialized.
As Schweizer points out, nearly all of the contracts that the Haitian government approved in the wake of the disaster touched the Clintons in some way; without a relationship with the couple, a company or organization was virtually guaranteed to be shut out of being able to provide goods or services.
Tumblr media
The Clintons’ eponymous Foundation was one of the first organizations to commit to helping to rebuild in Haiti. However, much of their multimillion-dollar relief efforts amounted to little more than assisting with (and in some cases donating money directly to) the construction of luxury hotels in the country, including at least one Marriott franchise operation owned by the aforementioned owner of Digicel, Denis O’Brien.
Very recently, the former president of the Haitian Senate, Bernard Sansaricq, issued a statement blasting the Clintons and the Clinton Foundation. It reads:
Sadly, when an earthquake rocked the nation of Haiti in 2010, corruption moved in faster than the help so desperately needed. Today, the people of Haiti are still suffering despite the billions of dollars that have flowed into the Clinton Foundation.
The Clintons exploited this terrible disaster to steal billions of dollars from the sick and starving people of Haiti. The world trusted the Clintons to help the Haitian people during their most desperate time of need and they were deceived.
The Clintons and their friends are richer today while millions still live in tents. The world deserves to know where the money went and why help was never sent.
Sansaricq further went on to say that Bill Clinton had attempted to bribe him prior to the 1994 U.S. military invasion of Haiti. Sansaricq was strongly against the planned invasion, and then-President Clinton sent former Congressman Bill Richardson of New Mexico to talk to Sansaricq.
When Sansaricq refused to back down, the American Embassy in Haiti dispatched an anonymous messenger to Sansaricq with a message that if Sansaricq were to side with Bill Clinton, he would be made “the richest man in Haiti.” When Sansaricq refused the bribe, his U.S. visa was revoked.
Sansaricq has subsequently called for an audit of the Clinton Foundations’ efforts in Haiti.
In addition to these operations, the United Nations was also involved early on in the struggle to rebuild Haiti. While much of its work was helpful, the organization’s endeavors were blamed for an outbreak of cholera in October of 2010, nine months after the earthquake.
The cholera plague lasted for years amidst relief and vaccination efforts and ultimately was one of the most horrific outbreaks of the scourge in the last 40 years, infecting more than 780,000 Haitians. To date, nearly 10,000 Haitians are estimated to have died as a direct result of the epidemic.
Initially, the UN denied responsibility, but investigators from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Doctors Without Borders and Harvard University all confirmed the septic waste of the UN mission as the original source of the disease; even Bill Clinton confirmed the UN link.
For its part, the UN tried to downplay the former president’s statements, saying, “In relation to former President Clinton’s reported remarks to the press this week in Haiti, we note that he emphasized the importance of focusing on improving Haiti’s sanitation system and the fact that the United Nations and others are working hard to do this.”
Cholera epidemics such as the one that has afflicted Haiti are often multi-year incidents that do not go away; they resurge and can kill dozens more people year after year without heavy-duty treatment and repairs to an area’s plumbing infrastructure.
It’s essential that this critical infrastructure be repaired or installed, but even prior to the earthquake, only one in five Haitians had access to a real toilet, and two in five did not have access to clean water. After Clinton connected the UN to the cholera outbreak, the Clinton Global Initiative committed to building a multi-billion dollar Permanent Diarrhea Training and Treatment Center for Haiti. As of February 2015, the Center remained unbuilt.
In 2016, a bipartisan committee in Congress led by Republican Representative Mia Love of Utah (who is herself of Haitian descent) wrote a letter to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry criticizing the slow U.S. response to the cholera outbreak. More than 150 members of Congress signed the letter.
In the meantime, the UN has stated it will not pay damages, accept lawsuits or trials for its actions due to the cholera epidemic in Haiti, claiming it is protected under a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) it signed with corrupt and brutal former Haitian leader Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
An examination of the Clinton Foundation’s website today shows no updates on Haiti since July 2015 and the total amount raised for Haiti as just $30 million. Perhaps the Clintons are too busy waiting for the world’s next disaster while Hillary Clinton courts more money for her campaign to be president.

I'm just the messenger... But here you go....
I’ve been researching this crap for awhile...The FBI uncovered a sex trafficking ring in Boystown, right outside of Omaha Ne. That was back in the late 80’s early 90’s when Barney Franks was a Senator. The FBI field director’s name was run into the ground , he was forced out of the FBI, and eventually was suicided.
Pizzagate is real.
It isn’t some conspiracy theory.
It's real. It’s always been real. And you can’t convince me otherwise.
If you think the Wayfair Stuff makes you sick, then wait.
Because what you’re seeing is just a small piece to a HUGE puzzle.
This runs deep.
People laughed at Pizzagate…. They aren’t laughing anymore.
Human trafficking is real.
It’s one of the classes you take when you’re fostering/adopting. It’s at least 4 hours.
Elite paedophilia is real. Organ harvesting is real.
It’s not a new phenomenon. It’s not something that just started. It’s been going on for YEARS.
It’s not something that is just going on in the US. It’s happening all over the world.
It involves Hollywood. It involves politicians on both sides. It involves the Rich. People you look up to are involved.
And I get it. It’s hard to wrap your head around what’s going on. It’s hard to imagine something so dark and disgusting going on right under your nose.
It’s hard to imagine something so evil is happening to our children.
It’s easy to laugh it off as some conspiracy theory.
Oh no, not my favourite actor, singer, or politician. Oh no, not Hillary. She can’t be involved. She was going to save us from Trump.
The international Labor Organisation estimates 40.3 MILLION human trafficking victims GLOBALLY.
If you think this is still a hoax or don’t want to come to terms with the fact that an Elite Paedophilia ring exists, ask yourself this:
⭐️Everyone knew about Epstein and his love for underage girls.
⭐️People were calling Little Saint James "Paedophile Island" since Epstein purchased the island in 1998.
⭐️With that knowledge, why did Bill Clinton and Obama visit Epstein’s paedophile Island? Multiple times?
⭐️Why did the locals report seeing dozens of young kids being taken across there for years?
⭐️Why was Bill Gates a regular visitor there?
⭐️Prince Andrew…. Do I need to say more and why is The Queen going around threatening anyone to run the story if it’s not true?
⭐️You mean to tell me that all these prominent men and women went to this paedophile island for one big party? Knowing what they knew about him? It wasn’t a secret.
⭐️What was Epstein using the underground tunnels for?
⭐️Who was Ghislaine Maxwell?
⭐️Did you know she owned a submarine company?
⭐️Did you know she has her sub pilot license?
What could she possibly need a submarine pilot license for?
⭐️Did you know that yachts with submarines were used to transport kidnapped children from Haiti to Epstein's paedophile Island?
⭐️What about Laura Silsby? The woman who was tried in Haiti for trying to sneak and KIDNAP 30 children to bring them to the US. Clinton’s used executive order to bring her back without being charged.
⭐️The kicker…… guess who changed their legal name and is in charge of amber alert— Laura Silsby… but let’s not mention that…. People who dig down that hole end up dying….
⭐️Did you know the TerraMar project was founded by Clinton Foundation and was located in the Lynn De Rothschild property in Manhattan?
⭐️Chelsea Clinton and Ghislaine are reported to be very close and actually vacationed together. You mean to tell me that Chelsea didn’t know about Ghislaine?
⭐️Remember when Chelsea’s wedding was paid for with money that was supposed to feed starving Haitian children?
⭐️Why did Hillary put Ghislaine’s nephew in charge of key Middle East policy decisions when she ran the State Department? You know… the one overseeing US/Libya policy that got an ambassador killed.
⭐️What about the Podesta Emails?
⭐️What was up with John and Tony Podesta’s artwork?
⭐️Would you own any of that creepy “art”?
⭐️Why would Obama buy $65,000 worth of tax payers money to have hot dogs fly in from Chicago for a private party?
⭐️Did you know that hotdog is an FBI code word for young boys?
⭐️Who is James Alefantis?
⭐️A pizza restaurant owner in DC. Who happens to be named one of the most powerful people in DC-A pizza place? A man that owns a children's pizza place? A man that has close ties with the Clinton's, Obama, Epstein and many more?
⭐️Have you seen his Instagram? Oh you probably haven’t… you’re just now looking into everything.
⭐️Have you looked up the art that is in his pizza place?
⭐️You want your kids seeing that stuff?
⭐️What about the dark web login to get into his site and order pizza that cost thousands of dollars? Oh wait… that was taken down.
⭐️What is a pizza place owner doing communicating with the White House?
⭐️What about the Hollywood actor that walked into comet pizza and shot at a locked closet door? The same closet that housed his computer which ended up with a bullet through the hard drive? Odd.
⭐️What about Anthony Weiner? All the emails found on his laptop?
⭐️You mean to tell me that his wife, Huma Abedin, had no knowledge of what was going on?
⭐️Huma and her friend Hillary had NO clue about this 15 year old girl?
⭐️What about the folder titled “Life Insurance”?
⭐️You know the one that housed the now famous videos titled "Frazzledrip" with Huma and Hillary. You want nightmares, read about those videos!!
⭐️The same Huma and Hillary who 9 NYPD have “committed” suicide after watching a horrific video of them doing unspeakable things to little girl? The same NYPD who threw up because what they saw was horrific?
⭐️Speaking of suicide, why have 57 former colleagues and associated ended up dead in the past 30 years? 15 have died of suicide. 8 died in a plane, car, or motorcycle accident and 14 have been found mysteriously murdered. All of these people had info that could have potentially hurt the Clinton's career. I don’t even have 57 friends 😂😂 let alone know 57 people that I need to add to a hit list.
⭐️Why is James Comey’s daughter the lead prosecutor on the Epstein sex trafficking case?
⭐️Former CEO of Reddit, Ellen Pao admitted they Knew Ghislaine supplied underage girls for Epstein and his pedo buddies?
⭐️The Norwegian Royal Family implicated in Epstein Scandal? Why? Not surprising considering Prince Andrew.
⭐️What about Oprah’s mentor? John of God and Weinstein. You mean to tell me Oprah didn’t know? Come on nowww...
⭐️Have you even heard of the NXIVM case? They were just running a sex cult where Smallville actress, Allison Mack was arrested and indicted on federal charges related to sex trafficking.
⭐️The McMartin Preschool. The Franklin Cover up. Seth Rich. Isaac Kappy. Boystown. The Finders. The list goes on and on...
⭐️Denish Hastert…. Do you know him? You should. Good buddies with Podesta….
⭐️Robert Menendez. Mike Folmer. Prominent democratic donor, Terry Bean. David Byrd. George Byrd. All known prominent paedophiles.
Why don’t we hear more about Biden’s Island? Very close to Epstein’s Island.
The Podesta brothers were known suspect’s years ago when little Madeline McCain was stolen from her parent’s hotel while on vacation.
What ever happened to her?
This doesn’t even cover a quarter of what is going on. This is so much more than Epstein. It’s so much more than Ghislaine. This runs deep and you’re going to be shocked at the ending.
I’m not interested in hypotheticals, rumours or factless connections.
Everything. Everything ties together. Everything is connected.
So while others are more concerned about COVID, I’m more concerned about saving our children. Aren't you?
Pass it on... if you believe one scintilla of the above before the Facebook police get rid of it...

Misha Collins cant keep track of his own lies.
Misha ''I was a homeless kid' Collins was interviewed by an art magazine, because apparently he is very artsy fartsy.  Whilst given the opportunity to speak about his supposedly favoritist subject: himself, Misha couldn't  remember all the fallacies he had spouted over the years.  I guess Misha figured his mostly underage, deranged fanbase might be too busy, furiously fingering themselves to badly written fanfiction, to actually read something from an intellectual source.  Something tells me that, just like in the mugging case, this reporter wasn't quite buying his lies.  Here are some of the highlights, with Misha's self-indulgent rambling in italics, and with my running commentary in bold [the interviewer is in bold italics]:
''Like most kids, I liked making things with my hands, and my mother helped facilitate this when I was pretty young. But I followed that impulse to an apprentice-level devotion. I would seek out woodworkers when I was 10 or 11, going into shops and learning how to use a lathe or – just asking. I grew up in western Massachusetts, and by the time I got into high school I was fully into this – just talking to people and learning things from them in person.''
So his hippy, drug addict mom who stashed pot down her youngest child's underwear for fear of being arrested, and who, for a short time, raised poor Misha in a car, honed his artistic skills when he was pretty young?  When?  When they were living in the woods?  And using a bowl of ice as a refrigerator?  So either his story of his childhood is greatly exaggerated or....yeah, that's all I got.  How gullible does he think people are?
Then in high school, I needed a job, so I started doing some manual labor.
So whilst at his elite private school, where there are rich dads and moms dropping off their darlings every morning, Misha chooses manual labor.  He likes to talk to people but he didn't speak to Mr and Mrs Moneybags?  He could have been a petty gopher in one of their companies and fared better.  After all, he needed a job.  I wonder why he chose ''manual labor''?  And why he chose to word it like that, instead of saying ''I became a carpenter's apprentice''.  I guess it sounds honorable.  That's is nothing dramatic about  saying that you flip burgers at McDs.  Saying that you work in a menial, underpaid job for a multimillion dollar company, does have a more dramatic feel to it.
I built that barn on my mother’s property. Our house had burned down, so with the insurance proceeds, we built that and...
Wait, wasn't Misha's mom a pothead who lived in a car for some time with her two children?  Now, not only does she have property but she has the money to pay for insurance.  When did you live in the car, Misha?  When the house burnt down?  Why didn't you live in that house you showed footage of, on twitter?  Its a nice house, complete with Christmas stockings.  It doesn't quite gel with your underprivileged childhood narrative, but nice nonetheless.
I worked a lot when I was in college, probably 30 hours a week most of the time. I did some handyman stuff, some carpentry stuff. After sophomore year, I took a year off. I interned at the [Clinton] White House, worked at NPR, became an EMT, started a summer camp for kids. It was a great year.
What is he?  A career whore?  So he was artsy fartsy, but he worked everywhere doing jobs that were unrelated to each other, instead of staying in his field of carpentry, and making money from that.  He got EMT certification.  Was it free?  Did he pay for it with his tuition fees?  What was the purpose of it, if making money for fees was of paramount importance?  That doesn't make sense, because if he was working 30 hour weeks, when did he have time to study?  The average work day is a tad longer, about 40 hours a week.  And if he was studying and working, when was Superman sleeping?  Why was he working so hard?  To put himself to college, don'tcha know.  Even though colleges offer student loans and don't accept their fees in installments.  And yet, he took time off for one year after sophomore.  Was it to make a lot of money for his tuition fees?  Nope, it was to become an EMT and start a summer camp for kids.  I guess summer camps are big business and you can pay off great debts if you start one.  Good to know.  His internment at the Whitehouse only lasted four months, and yet he has acquired all the knowledge there is to acquire, to become a political knowitall on twitter.  Sidenote:  Is it normal for internships at the Whitehouse to last, such a short time.  I am genuinely curious, because it doesn't sound right.
This is where I think the interviewer started to sound like she was side-eyeing the wood working maestro and his yarns of tall tales.
After graduation you got into acting, and in 1999, you moved with Victoria to Los Angeles for film and television work. There, in 2001, you bought your first house. Tell us about it. You were a starving actor?
Yeah. Right after we bought it, our realtor said, “There’s a TV show that would like to shoot your house.” They brought this [house-hunting] couple through, and when we saw the episode, they had surveyed the house and were like, “We don’t want to touch this piece of s---.” It was a real wreck, had been seriously neglected. It was built in the 1920s, and built by people who weren’t carpenters, didn’t know what they were doing. It was built so poorly, and everything was sagging – the window frames, the eaves.
Can you believe that?  The starving actor bought a house.  Let that sink in.  He recognized that the house was built by non-carpenters [how was this building standing.  Twas a miracle, I tell you.]  And despite being a starving actor with a small amount of money, and a knowledge of carpentry, he bought a house that was badly built by non-carpenters.  So he knew he was buying a liability.  Why?
The kitchen floor you put in is beautiful. Yes, that’s gunstock, from a gun manufacturer in Northern California.
Mr Gun Free supporting the Gun manufacturing industry.  Man, this guy is a hypocrite.
You lived in that first house for 11 years. Do you still own it? We rent it out to some lovely people who love it, so it’s good.
Fun fact:  Mr Humble Pie has two pieces of property.  And he is making money off of one, but he chooses to attend cons with the same torn T-shirts from years ago, or has to fleece off of Jensen's wardrobe and generosity, otherwise he would be doing his panels naked, poor thing.  Why doesn't he stop his cruises for a year, and use that money to buy decent threads?  One shirt can last a few years.  The lies are  embarrassing, but miraculously his minions believe him.
On the way to this house, you became very successful with this hugely popular TV series. Life changed. Do you still manage to make time for handwork?
Yeah. I’ve discovered that I really like working. Work can be respite for me, and switching gears is really key. Going from working on scripts to working with my hands is therapeutic, for sure. I am still managing to work with my hands. I was just doing some woodworking yesterday. I do a lot of cooking. That’s a big part of my life, and also I think a barometer of emotional health. When I’m not cooking, it’s a sign that I’m too stressed out and I’ve got to dial things back a little bit. I do a lot of canning. I put up 120 jars of blackberry jam this fall.
What an irony!  One of the greatest instigators of stress for his co-workers and their fans, gets stressed out himself.  Yeah, guilt can do that.  Plus, he likes quantifying accomplishments.  That is why Gish exists.  Quantity over quality.
Which artists inspire you? I love Christo and Jeanne Claude, because of the mind-bending scale on which they’ve created things, like they’re rethinking what’s possible. I’m somebody who kind of likes to break rules, to bend rules when appropriate.
I could write a whole big post, on Misha's rule breaking and bending.  From stealing Whitehouse property [and bragging about it] to telling fans about the scratched line in the Crypt which got Jensen a barrage of abuse on Twitter.  The one thing that he spoke about that doesn't make sense is his story about almost getting arrested for reading a book on a building rooftop.  It makes no sense.  There is a portion of the story that is missing, I'm sure.  Misha is a great exaggerator.
Have you turned any Supernatural castmates on to craft? On a set, there’s tons of downtime, a lot of sitting and knitting and crocheting. And I have occasionally been in the mix there. Last year Jensen [Ackles], my co-star, walked up and saw me knitting, and he just looked at me and said, “Really?” But I could tell there was jealousy behind it, more than criticism. So I’ll teach him to knit, and it’ll be fine. We’ll get through this.
Will you look at that?  There are around 70 people on set at any given time.  Many of them must have seen Misha knitting.  And look who Misha decided to mention.  Was that a ''just in case, a nutty heller is reading this'' insertion?  No mention is made of Jared, because who cares about him, right?  Got to give the crowd what they want.  I am side eyeing the knitting claim myself, because I do knit and having seen a photo of him knitting, I can safely say that, that is not how you grasp at the yarn.  You knit with loose fingers because yarn is abrasive.
Tumblr media
The first big project we did with Random Acts was we built an orphanage and community center in Haiti. I would not have thought that was a tackle-able enterprise if I didn’t have a background in building.  Our biggest fundraising driver for the projects that we do – like building a school or an orphanage – is we bring folks down in groups of 25 or so to Haiti or to Nicaragua, and they help in the building process. We roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty.
Wow, he built the 500K orphanage with his own hands, but didn't think about lights for the children.  His response regarding the lights was ''it's Haiti and it takes three f*cking years to get an electrician''.  Wow, I am a third worlder too, but we have electricians.  How backwards is Haiti that he couldn't find a single electrician in the whole country, to light the place up for the poor orphans?  He couldn't squeeze in one electrician in the group of 25 or so.  Are there no philanthropic electricians in his circles?  My word, electricians are such selfish people, don't you think?  They don't want to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty.  Why couldn't he just pay for one instead of waiting three years?  Fun fact:  According to their website, the orphanage, aka, the Jacmel children's center houses only 15 children, but another page says there are 27 children living in the house.  They don't know how many children they are looking after.  But that is still a small amount.  So where did all these kids go?
Tumblr media
Misha either staged this picture with school kids on an excursion or all those kids got adopted by the staggeringly high quantity of rich couples living in Haiti, right Misha?  SMH
This question made me smirk.  The interviewer had to know Misha has never been to public school.  Look how Mr Bleeding Heart answers the question.
As we know, art programs in K-12 public schools these days are in decline, especially shop class, manual arts. How can we nurture creativity in kids, and why is that important? When I was 9 years old, I had a paper route. One day my younger brother and I were collecting money, and Mr. Haigis answered the door. He started talking to us, and he discovered that our parents were separated, and we didn’t live with our father. In the 1960s, he had run a woodshop for little kids. He had stopped doing it because he got busy with his career. Now he was retired. These two boys show up delivering papers on his front stoop, and it just comes to him: “I’ve got to do the same thing for those kids.”
So Mr Haigis left all the poor, underprivileged children and decided to help these two boys who were going to an elite school?  Sounds legit.  What about public school children, Mr Haigis?  Don't you care about them?
I was a starving actor for at least a decade.
Misha was a starving actor who worked on 24 projects before getting SPN, but he still managed to buy a house.  Fun fact:  he was an  associate producer on a docu-movie, ''Loot'' which won best documentary at the LA film festival.  His movie didn't need sock puppets to win this one.  Misha should produce more.  That way he wont be on screen, festering up the frame.  The less we see of him, the better.

Yakuza White Dragon Society battles New World Order Khazarian Mafia as U.S. troops deploy worldwide with 10,000 sealed indictments to help take them down.
“10,000 Sealed Indictments” – Fulford Report – 12.18.17
By Benjamin Fulford, official spokesman for White Dragon Society (Yakuza)
U.S. troops deploy worldwide with 10,000 sealed indictments to take down the centuries old secret Khazarian mafia
U.S. President Donald Trump spent the weekend at Camp David with his top generals to map out the exact strategy for decapitating the Khazarian mafia worldwide, say Pentagon sources. “The Atlanta airport was shut down while the Department of Defense refused to disclose the locations of 44,000 U.S. troops who may be involved in terminating the cabal worldwide,” a senior Pentagon source said. There are now close to 10,000 sealed indictments as more and more of the Khazarian criminals give up evidence on their colleagues, the sources say.
There are also many extra-judicial killings going on. “The liberal sanctuary city mayor of San Francisco, Edwin Lee, dropped dead after an illegal alien was found not guilty in the murder of Kate Steinle even after his confession,” one source notes. “Lee’s death is a message to the Democrats and sanctuary city mayors like Rahm Emmanuel of Chicago and Bill De Blasio of New York City,” the source warns.
The Khazarian mob is also killing off lots of people. In Japan, two former executives of Toshiba, Atsutoshi Nishida and Taizo Nishimura, suddenly died in the past two months because they were about to provide evidence about the March 11, 2011 Fukushima tsunami and nuclear terror attack against Japan, according to sources close to the royal family.
This attack was carried out by henchmen of the Rockefeller family, whose members include Hillary and Bill Clinton, the sources say. The Rockellers, in turn, were taking orders from the fascist P2 Freemason lodge, they say. The Rockefeller family, by the way, has elected Mel Rockefeller, the son of Nelson Rockefeller, as the new family head, these sources added.
In Canada, Barry Sherman, owner of the Canadian pharmaceutical giant Apotex, was found hanging dead alongside his wife Honey by the family’s indoor pool. According to CIA sources, Sherman was killed to cover up an evidence trail leading to the Clinton Foundation and their crimes in Haiti. “We have a classified document involving the Clinton Foundation and a pharmaceutical company from Canada that was to supply generic drugs for the people of Haiti. The point is that they were going to supply inferior-quality generic medicine and pocket the difference in price,” the CIA source says.
In any case, no matter how many potential witnesses are bumped off, the situation has reached a point where the Khazarians will not be able to murder their way out.
The December 12th Senatorial election in Alabama, for example, was a sting operation against the Khazarians, Pentagon sources say. “Senator Roy Moore was allowed to have his election stolen in Alabama so Trump could collect voting data to take down the Soros organization, the Democrats, and the cabal for vote fraud,” the sources say. “Three poll workers have been arrested already,” they note.
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is next to join a growing list of politicians who are resigning in the ongoing purge of the House and Senate, the sources add. Senator John “Daesh” McCain is also apparently wanting to leave this world before his many crimes are made public.

Even the brainwashed propaganda media is beginning to realize that something is going on when they see Hillary Clinton’s “surgical boot” (hiding a GPS ankle bracelet) staying on long after it should have been removed if the official excuse of a broken toe were true. No doubt some lame excuse will be given and the still-brainwashed segment of the population will accept it.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5178037/Clinton-wears-surgical-boot-MONTHS-breaking-toe.html
The people who still believe the cabal’s story line are like the people in the joke about a man who was told his wife was cheating on him. In the joke, he hires a detective to confirm his wife’s innocence. The detective comes back and says, “She met with another man in the street and they entered a hotel together.” The husband asks, “Did you see them enter a room together?” The detective says, “Yes.” “Did you see what went on inside the room?” the husband asks. “Yes, I peeked through the keyhole and saw them on the bed together,” the detective answers. “Were they covered with a blanket?” the husband asks. The detective says, “Yes” to the man. He asks, “Did you see under the blanket?” and the detective says, “No.” “In that case you cannot prove she was cheating,” the husband says.
The husband does not want to face reality because it would upset his entire worldview, and in the same way, the brainwashed people will cling to the lamest excuses to avoid reality. Similarly, if the Clinton people explain the cast is still on because of “complications,” people in denial will go with this story rather than accept that she has been arrested.
Nonetheless, we are reaching the point where even these people will be forced to face reality. The entire FBI and Justice Department network that tried to protect Hillary Clinton from prosecution is also being systematically exposed and dismantled. The link here provides a good visual summary:
http://rense.com/general96/whoswho.html
Now even the corporate media is being forced to accept that the so-called “Islamic State” was a CIA creation. This is coming out now because the November 18th U.S. military raid on the CIA has shut down Operation Mockingbird and the corporate media is being forced to report the truth.

A clear sign of how unusual the times we are living in have become is that former U.S. Corporation President Barack Obama is seeking and apparently getting political asylum in England.

What this shows, together with the fact that Donald Trump is not welcome in the UK, is that the Anglo-Saxon world is split between bloodline-controlled England and the anti-bloodline Gnostic Illuminati-ruled Republic of the United States of America.
This situation is likely to come to a head of sorts in January as an informal Anglo-Chinese alliance tries to bankrupt the U.S. internationally, based on its cumulative trade deficit and its inability to pay for the goods it imports with real money.
The U.S. will respond with threats of war. This will appear in the news in the form of U.S. sabre-rattling against North Korea, as it yet again wields the all-out nuclear war card in an attempt to extort more money. The Chinese are preparing to call the U.S. bluff this time, as can be seen by its government warning its people to prepare for nuclear war as it conducts military drills near Taiwan and North Korea.

The Chinese and British want the creation of a world government in order to ensure a peaceful and law-based planet, Asian secret society sources say. In the absence of some sort of compromise with the U.S. military government, there will be financial chaos even if war is avoided.
The current financial system is dysfunctional and only serves as a way to funnel privately owned central bank funny money to the super-rich via the stock market. This means of distributing money has pushed financial markets away from reality, and reality always will prevail, no matter how hard you try to avoid it. The Boston Consulting Group surveyed 250 top institutional investors who together manage over $500 billion in funds and found them to be the most pessimistic they have been since the Lehman shock of 2008.
https://www.bcg.com/publications/2017/survey-increasingly-bearish-investors-seek-long-term-value-creation.aspx
Hopefully, a new transparently and meritocratically run financial system will be launched, but we may need to go through the chaotic collapse of the old system before this is possible. We will find out in the new year.
On a final and personal note, Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Center will be speaking at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan on December 20th. Cooper had one of my books banned for being “anti-Semitic.” When I asked him what in my book was “anti-Semitic,” he said that I wrote that U.S. President George Bush Jr. was responsible for the deaths of many civilians in Iraq. Bush is supposed to be an evangelical Christian, and the information on the deaths of civilians in Iraq came from the medical journal Lancet. So here we have a supposed Jew banning a book written by a person with Jewish ancestry that is denouncing genocide by a non-Jew because it is “anti-Semitic.” How hypocritical can you get? Poor Mr. Weisenthal must be spinning in his grave.
According to officials at Tokuma Shoten Publishing, the Weisenthal Center paid bribes to editors to place misleading newspaper ads for my book. This then led to a complete ban of all advertising for all of my books in newspapers and other ad venues, no matter what their content. This is typical of what they do to writers worldwide and is a part of their control grid in Japan and elsewhere. In the U.S., the Department of Homeland Security froze the bank accounts of entire publishing companies to prevent them from publishing my books in English.
Cooper and his Jewish mafia buddies also pay rent-a-mob right-wingers to do things like attack ethnic Korean shopping districts in order to keep South Korea and Japan fighting each other, according to members of these groups.
The man is a criminal and belongs in jail. If Cooper is arrested, he will sing like a canary about the entire Khazarian mafia control grid in Japan and elsewhere. He will also explain exactly how the Khazarian mafia runs North Korea. I would be very happy if some MP’s showed up at the event and arrested him. Take him to Guantanamo and make him sing.
The Dragon groups we do know to be real include:
the White Dragon which has an ancient Asian counter-part
the Black Dragon (Greater East Asian Co-prosperity sphere etc.)
the Dragon family (Merovingian royalty)
the Green Dragon which has roots in Iran (Persia) and central Asia
the Red Dragon may be the Nazis new name for themselves because the Odessa group (post-war Nazis) is definitely on the war path.

:star:️Everyone knew about Epstein and his love for underage girls.
:star:️People were calling Little Saint James "Paedophile Island" since Epstein purchased the island in 1998.
:star:️With that knowledge, why did Bill Clinton and Obama visit Epstein’s paedophile Island? Multiple times?
:star:️Why did the locals report seeing dozens of young kids being taken across there for years?
:star:️Why was Bill Gates a regular visitor there?
:star:️Prince Andrew…. Do I need to say more and why is The Queen going around threatening anyone to run the story if it’s not true?
:star:️You mean to tell me that all these prominent men and women went to this paedophile island for one big party? Knowing what they knew about him? It wasn’t a secret.
:star:️What was Epstein using the underground tunnels for?
:star:️Who was Ghislaine Maxwell?
:star:️Did you know she owned a submarine company?
:star:️Did you know she has her sub pilot license?
What could she possibly need a submarine pilot license for?
:star:️Did you know that yachts with submarines were used to transport kidnapped children from Haiti to Epstein's paedophile Island?
:star:️What about Laura Silsby? The woman who was tried in Haiti for trying to sneak and KIDNAP 30 children to bring them to the US. Clinton’s used executive order to bring her back without being charged.
:star:️The kicker…… guess who changed their legal name and is in charge of amber alert— Laura Silsby… but let’s not mention that…. People who dig down that hole end up dying….
:star:️Did you know the TerraMar project was founded by Clinton Foundation and was located in the Lynn De Rothschild property in Manhattan?
:star:️Chelsea Clinton and Ghislaine are reported to be very close and actually vacationed together. You mean to tell me that Chelsea didn’t know about Ghislaine?
:star:️Remember when Chelsea’s wedding was paid for with money that was supposed to feed starving Haitian children?
:star:️Why did Hillary put Ghislaine’s nephew in charge of key Middle East policy decisions when she ran the State Department? You know… the one overseeing US/Libya policy that got an ambassador killed.
:star:️What about the Podesta Emails?
:star:️What was up with John and Tony Podesta’s artwork?
:star:️Would you own any of that creepy “art”?
:star:️Why would Obama buy $65,000 worth of tax payers money to have hot dogs fly in from Chicago for a private party?
:star:️Did you know that hotdog is an FBI code word for young boys?
:star:️Who is James Alefantis?
:star:️A pizza restaurant owner in DC. Who happens to be named one of the most powerful people in DC-A pizza place? A man that owns a children's pizza place? A man that has close ties with the Clinton's, Obama, Epstein and many more?
:star:️Have you seen his Instagram? Oh you probably haven’t… you’re just now looking into everything.
:star:️Have you looked up the art that is in his pizza place?
:star:️You want your kids seeing that stuff?
:star:️What about the dark web login to get into his site and order pizza that cost thousands of dollars? Oh wait… that was taken down.
:star:️What is a pizza place owner doing communicating with the White House?
:star:️What about the Hollywood actor that walked into comet pizza and shot at a locked closet door? The same closet that housed his computer which ended up with a bullet through the hard drive? Odd.
:star:️What about Anthony Weiner? All the emails found on his laptop?
:star:️You mean to tell me that his wife, Huma Abedin, had no knowledge of what was going on?
:star:️Huma and her friend Hillary had NO clue about this 15 year old girl?
:star:️What about the folder titled “Life Insurance”?
:star:️You know the one that housed the now famous videos titled "Frazzledrip" with Huma and Hillary. You want nightmares, read about those videos!!
:star:️The same Huma and Hillary who 9 NYPD have “committed” suicide after watching a horrific video of them doing unspeakable things to little girl? The same NYPD who threw up because what they saw was horrific?
:star:️Speaking of suicide, why have 57 former colleagues and associated ended up dead in the past 30 years? 15 have died of suicide. 8 died in a plane, car, or motorcycle accident and 14 have been found mysteriously murdered. All of these people had info that could have potentially hurt the Clinton's career. I don’t even have 57 friends :joy::joy: let alone know 57 people that I need to add to a hit list.
:star:️Why is James Comey’s daughter the lead prosecutor on the Epstein sex trafficking case?
:star:️Former CEO of Reddit, Ellen Pao admitted they Knew Ghislaine supplied underage girls for Epstein and his pedo buddies?
:star:️The Norwegian Royal Family implicated in Epstein Scandal? Why? Not surprising considering Prince Andrew.
:star:️What about Oprah’s mentor? John of God and Weinstein. You mean to tell me Oprah didn’t know? Come on nowww...
:star:️Have you even heard of the NXIVM case? They were just running a sex cult where Smallville actress, Allison Mack was arrested and indicted on federal charges related to sex trafficking.
:star:️The McMartin Preschool. The Franklin Cover up. Seth Rich. Isaac Kappy. Boystown. The Finders. The list goes on and on...
:star:️Denish Hastert…. Do you know him? You should. Good buddies with Podesta….
:star:️Robert Menendez.
I’m not interested in hypotheticals, rumors or factless connections.
Everything. Everything ties together. Everything is connected.
So while others are more concerned about COVID, I’m more concerned about saving our children. Aren't you?
Pass it on... if you believe one scintilla of the above.

They Never Stay On Topic Do They?
One of the things I find truly amazing about people on the right or various Libertarians is their motivation to show that they have done research and that they know more than you about something and they want to teach you that you are wrong even if you never invited them to do so. Elsewhere online I put up a video and asked a simple question, wanting to know what people thought about it. And sure enough people sidetracked. I wasn’t surprised. I didn’t fight it because that’s not why I posted it. I trolled my own timeline to see what would happen. The result was what I expected but some of the information thrown at me was somewhat elaborate but unfortunately biased, incomplete, outdated, out of context, or simply inflated by right wing rumor mills.
Part of the information mentioned was about Hillary Clinton and her admiration for Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. If you look up Sanger she is very controversial and it is hard to distinguish whether she was some kind of mad scientist, or someone who had no social boundaries, or maybe was a racist asshole, or maybe all of those things, but she died in 1966 and whatever she felt about people over half a century ago does not translate into the current organization. Not by a long shot. In fact what she suggested early on she acted on by creating a non-profit organization to help people, not hurt them. But they sure love to cram it down your throat that she is some genocidal maniac don’t they? It’s always Hilary, Hilary, Hilary, and how much worse she is than Trump. Nazi hugging Trump I should say. Then, they used Hillary Clinton’s comments regarding Robert Byrd to claim that Hilary was a KKK loving racist. We don’t know if Hilary Is a racist just as we don’t know anything about anyone that we don’t actually know. If there is one thing about famous people, it’s amazing how many people think they know them when they absolutely do NOT. I do know that the NAACP gave some commendation to Byrd for trying to atone for his work with the KKK earlier in his life. That says one helluva lot more than someone on the Internet trying to convince otherwise. But then again, why do any research past Limbaugh, Hannity, Jones, Beck, Shapiro, Coulter, or Lahren. And uptightie righties often try to say that perverts and racists should be forgiven because they atoned for their sins? Well, if they are white and running for office... But again my original post was about Obama slamming Trump and I asked people not to be sarcastic and not to be insulting and not to change the subject. My first two requests were honored but not the third because it’s always Hillary, Hillary, Hillary. It was claimed that Hilary made anti-sematic remarks but it was claimed referencing Wikileaks which honestly I don’t trust half the time. And look what happened to the founder of that… Hilary was also bashed for standing up for her husband which I would imagine many wives would do. But apparently that’s wrong. Which is kind of funny considering Trump and his marriages and his affairs. More cherry picking hypocrisy from the self-righteous I’m afraid. Ignorance truly is bliss.
It was claimed that Hillary Clinton helped destroy Libya. That’s kind of odd because I thought that Khadafi did that, as I think way back to those F-111 fighter-bombers that flew over the country and dropped a bunch of bombs for some reason long before Clinton had any power whatsoever. It’s hard to destroy a country that has been halfway there for decades but it’s easy to blame whoever is in office at the time you want to blame someone for something to try to prove something to someone else. Or something like that. Hell, some people just talk for the sake of talking. Makes you wonder who wasn’t listening when they were children. And then there was Benghazi and the emails. Again. Yeah, Benghazi. As if Hillary had propped the door open at the facility. And the emails. As if dozens and possibly hundreds of other politicians were using the same serve3r, which they were btw, and the owner of the server admitted on national television that it was partially their fault. For all the TV right wingnuts watch, they sure don’t watch the right channels. I was really surprised there was no mention of pizzagate. Oh yeah, that’s right, their little pizza porn story caused a shooting, and GOd forbid they should admit that guns are bad. Haiti Was mentioned of course but you really have to go do your own research on that to find out that it was hardly one person’s fault that things did not go the way they could’ve gone. But again let’s blame Hillary. Let’s always blame Hillary. That’s all these people do. 20% of American uranium was never sold to Russia. It simply was not. ONe can look it up anywhere to find the truth about the deal. Perhaps people don’t understand what they are reading and how it translates into business talk. Both sides admit that but not the talking heads that make money by telling you stupid things and getting you fired up and hoping that you won’t do real research. All this negativity is a simple product of our consumerism when it comes down to it. Everybody’s fired up on both sides but I dare say that too many on the right have completely failed to recognize what ethics are, what kind of standards we should all have, what kind of standards we should hold others to, and what it’s like to live a life of decency, and not make one up excluding others because you don’t want them in your yard, and pretending to be honorable when they are actually quite despicable.
The last few years have been a real eye-opener, where we have really been shown firsthand how many assholes there are in this country and also how many ill-informed people there are that may not be assholes but simply don’t know any better. I wonder if their parents are proud. Maybe they are just as shallow. Some of my European friends were right about America. I almost feel stupid for not believing them all these years. But they do what we do if we are smart, and recognize the good and try to be better people, and keep those that would destroy us in the name of hatred or immaturity or stupidity where they belong, back in the fringes. It might help them to remember where they came from.
I can say online that trump and The GOP are lousy examples to the young people in this country, but it doesn’t sink in. I can say that many of trump’s supporters who are angry with the system and blame Obama and Hillary are looking at the wrong ones to blame. They need to look to their mayors, council members, senators, representatives, and governors. But they don’t. They flock to their crooked leaders bullshit like rats to the river. I tried to explain that and it went whoosh, right over someone’s head. If one can’t recognize that the civil servants aren’t doing the jobs they were elected to do, than one likely wouldn’t recognize the maniac pretending to be president, who lost the popular election for a reason, as a worthless mistake who is causing more harm than good. And one will not be willing to admit their own mistake of supporting him. Hell, Sanger might have a point when it comes to trump fans. Whoops! Maybe not that drastic but trump fans will create more trump-like fans for the future generations to deal with. Who will likely blame Hillary for stuff they don’t like, i=even if it doesn’t affect them in the slightest.
I am seeing people who for many years I assumed might’ve shared similar compassion or ethics with me but now I’m finding that they don’t. If things had been quieter (without trump, imagine that) I never would’ve known and perhaps I would not be so disappointed but some of these people are being very vocal about their deficiencies of decency and that’s one of the biggest bummers of all. All I can ask is for the people who care to push the candidate against trump farther than the EC’s reach and end this utter bullshit regime. And at the same time shut down some of these qwerty quacks and put them in their place. Which is unfortunately right where their political party’s leaders want them...

Dear Democratic Party.
I have a confession to make. The other day I slipped up and prayed.
Should I make a video confessing to my sin? In front of CNN? And the nation? And promise to never do it again? Should I resign in disgrace? An embarrassed look on my face?
I am guilty of party line violation caught in the act..of prayer and supplication to God.
Only you can save us oh great Democratic Party hacks —- the Saviors and Messiahs of our souls and our nation.
I will meditate on you on a daily basis. Upon my little yoga mat I cross my legs and repeat the phrases, “cross my heart hope to die”,  forgive me for I
have sinned. How can I make amends?
Shame on me!  what kind of proper Luciferian prays, “our Father who art in heaven? Hallowed be thy name? Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven? Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us? And lead us not into temptation but, (and here’s the kicker), “deliver us from evil.”
Oops I said it again,  “deliver us from evil.”
I guess that’s it for me and the Democratic Party. Think of the perks I will lose. But, the Lord I do happily choose, renouncing Satan. Only God can save our nation.
If they had taken one tinth of that energy and focused it half as much to saving mountains and streams...the land, as they do to an idea that is so wispy and unclear, “it depends on what is is”...we would still have mountains in WV.
They destroyed your LAND people!! You were comfortable on your couch watching CNN. Your heart went out to a phenomenon a passing fancy the flavor of the month.  Were the mountains too white for you?  They were raping your mother “to keep the lights on” by destroying the fundamental physical composition of America...Dirt. And ripping it out from under you in front of your televised eyes.
But what threw you into overdrive, What woke you up and ripped the golden pacifier from your mouth ... wasn’t the destruction of the land, the beautiful forests streams and woodlands, it was your own private ultra specific war ... and you exploded! Over a freckle on a sub atomic particle’s ass! An undefinable utopian fantasy that defied sensory perception to all but the most mindful of and vexed by  the anonymity of human existence, the absence of cuddling, by your mommy and daddy who refused to adequately fuss over you who didn’t feel inspired to recognize the 6 year old genius wunderkind goddesses of the universe.  That’s right. you have waged war for 30 years for your right to rule in your happy little universe.  Correct utopian fantasy must be not just worshipped and adored but done so correctly.
That’s what  got you going, spinning sideways out of control ike a top that had run out of petro. Like a drunken Mexican on the streets of Arrested Development.
That’s right. Stop ignoring me or I become a raving mindful lunatic on a yoga mat with a bottle of spring water by my side.
****
Because....you’re sane and they’re not.
For the first time in my life I feel like I am the voice of reason and sanity and moderation . Lol.  That should give you an indication  of how crazy they are. Theyve out crazied T Paige.    It’s a great time a great day a great time for all the unhinged, unglued mentally unstable nut jobs to come out of the woodwork. They have a platform! The worm has turned. For years 50 years at least detente was a good thing! Now the Sore Loser  in Chief, Hillary Clinton and her chieftains are outraged, they need someone to blame for their loss, to save face.  Why not Russia! ???   So they dig themselves in deeper and deeper. Little do they know it’s their own grave.
How does it feel James to be the sanest voice in the room? Kind a cool ain’t it?  God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform!
Trumps approval  rating for July is higher than RR Jimmy Carter and tied w Bill Clinton.
The massive mainstream kgb style propaganda media, crooks, elite, and Facebook are, simply put, on the wrong side, behind the curve.  Congrats James.  Pat yourself on the back. Well deserved.
It’s very simple really. It’s all about practicality. If your ideas are so impractical as to beggar description, If you get inflamed and emotionally overwrought with other people’s responses negative impressions of your “solution”, step out of the echo chamber and into the light of reason. It is time for you to question.  Ask a simple question: what is this shit? Or just do nothing. The pressure to conform should be balanced by reason.
old tyme rockin gospel blues to make your drive more 'interesting' without taking your eyes off the road. or not. the visual is quite interesting too.  I may have stumbled on inter-dimensional photography...see if you can find the creatuers that inhabits these one of a kind photographs by t. paige.

Here is Jim- al X. Zones telling his side of the story. Oops sorry not available.  It’s been deleted since last night when I watched it.  It’s been removed from my YouTube history.
Go ahead try it.  Remember the Dixie chicks? How they were banned? This is no different. Madonna  says she wants to s*** Moamar khadaffi and f*** the guy in the Vanilla H *** but no  repercussions. Sorry Virgin Mary but Hillary blew him first.
It’s coming. Chinese style censorship.  I’m w the ACLU on this one folks. Unpopular opinions should not be banned any more than the library should ban  Catcher in the Rye.  Say goodbye to another freedom as we approach The NannyState.  Men have lost their cojones.
Notice: You cannot NOT care. You must care.  For this thing right here. Not caring for this thing is not allowed.  You must care about women, minorities, etc because we say so. We don’t care but we’re hypocrites. That’s the difference. We’re all sociopaths. So that’s just how it works because...WE HAVE MORE MONEY AND we are IMPORTANT.  You, not so much. So you see it’s not really hypocrisy.
ALSO, you are not allowed to care about your self you selfish Nazi racist bastard.

This might get me into trouble.
I posted Pray For our Country and got some anti trumpies comments.  They said  I’ll pray for that man in the WH.  Like he’s the only problem is the only one that we needs to pray about.
It’s starting to really piss me off.  Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile.
Is there another reason to pray?  Is it because bombs are being dropped?  Is it because Obama decided we no longer have to declare war to drop bombs on people? Just pick a country. That we can bomb people anywhere anytime we want?
Or is it because someone offended you?  Did it offend you when a convicted pedophile got a standing ovation from most of Hollywood including Meryl Streep at the Academy Awards? Or that madonna said she wanted to blow the White House up?   ( remember the Dixie Chicks! )
Or that Hillary Clinton got a child trafficer off the hook? When she kidnapped 30 children in Haiti? Or that this woman now is working for Amber alert? Under a different name? Is it because Muslim grooming gangs in England kept young girls around for sexual purposes for decades?  Is it because refugees from starving Africa are storming the beaches of Spain?  And roaming the streets of Italy with hatchets and machetes? Is it because there are approximately 1000 no go zones throughout Europe? Where the police do not dare go near?   Is it because there are towns in England that have been Muslimized, the churches and the pubs shut down. Is it because the plan under Hillary was to do the same here?
Is it because the real problem here is hypocrisy and fuzzy think.  Right and wrong no longer matter and is no longer discernible or desired by MSM brainwashed people.  Just don’t offend me ... my delicate feelings are all that matters... none of the above matters. But if you go off script, say something that offends me... ohmy! look out! I am on the warpath and I am marching on Washington!
The problem here is,  “you awake?” is no longer the punch line of a joke about redneck foreplay.
I’m trying to add it all up.  I think I’m making progress:
What happened was nothing compared to what happens later. A descent.
But initially what happened? Each group made their point. Peacefully. Nothing happened. The fact that this had a good outcome, the three opposing groups had their say each in their moment and no one got hurt.
What happens a bit later, media types begin shaming....Your group is to blame. Blame blame blame.
CNN set it up and dutifully the chorus chimed in. On cue just as we have come to expect.
There is something about creating impossible standards for people that sets them up for control. It’s a means of control and repression common among very manipulative types. (Sociopaths)
The real hurt came later. The attacks began. Now it’s a serious thing we are talking about.
Maligning to a certain extent one group or another.
Perhaps there is something to be gained from all of this. Certainly each group has something to say a point to make.
We see what is unreasonable, counterproductive. To some extent in it’s virulence, and unnecessary.
State your point, without bashing the rest of the world. Behave yourself online. Don’t make stupid comments. Don’t make hurtful comments. Don’t attack. Don’t vilify. Because that’s not what happened in the first place.
Through this lens ljust look at what happened. The boys do the school cheer. The blacks made their points however crude. The Native Americans intervene ostensibly prayerfully to create harmony. Good deal. The smirking white boy, an underage teen, was praying all the time for a peaceful resolution.  An end to the confusion. Admirable.
And guess what, prayers were answered.
Let’s be thankful for that.
Let these antagonistic voices reflect on their own motives, meanspiritedness, within their own souls and consciousness. Is what I am doing ugly, one sided and unfair? “I went off without hearing the whole story. And it devolved into a diatribe. For that I apologize. I got it wrong.”
Later the Native Americans went to a church. During mass. They were not allowed to go in for fear that they would disrupt the services.
What if someone had come out and said you’re welcome to come in if you are quiet and respectful. Or you can wait and we will have a representative out here to listen to what you have to say.
Can you imagine ... Native Americans and Catholics outside on the steps harmoniously joining together in prayer?
Both sides believe in praying do they not?
Each side attaches solemnity to the act of praying. Then what is to prevent them from praying together?
That moment has passed but another moment is possible. We have had time to reflect, to process and come to a meeting of the minds.
The Pueblo Indians have a legend that some mysterious personage visited the tribe and told them of things to come.
Thanks for listening.

Hey John, I’ve seen some of your Facebook posts that come in my feed checked out your page. I knew your dad.
Just remember the words to the prayer, is my best unsolicited advice.  It touches us all and everything better than anything and believe me I’ve searched my whole life. It’s a condensation and distillation of things that are spiritually meaningful to all of us. Best of all they are not my words or anybody else’s of similar human consciousness. We know they come from a higher place and beyond ourselves and they lift us up to that level. That’s my experience which I’m trying to share in this song. People share lots of things on fb, right?
I believe you are musically gifted ... I heard from your dad and others.  I don’t know if we’ve actually met but I remember there was some good buzz when you were younger.
I’m trying to spread the word and various people come up, in my consciousness, individuals who for one reason or another I really want to share it with.
So I just wanted to share this with you.
And hope you have a good day. Hang in there John.

There’s no reason to think that by the boys not being where they were supposed to be that there was ill intent on their part ... just wandering off.
Apparently these days just about anything no matter how innocent, like wandering off makes you a bad guy. That is very wrong in my opinion. Having white skin makes me a bad guy. It’s called identity politics, but it’s more like a circular firing squad.
And it’s orchestrated by the truly guilty, the fraction of 1% that control our minds. This control is exercised mainly through the Democratic Party these days but in times past it was the Republicans.
Neoliberals have emerged in the same way that neocons emerged and like a parasite have taken over the brain and diverted it 180° opposite from it’s original purpose and identity.
How can you get the majority of peaceful people to go to war without a pearl harbor or a Gulf of Tonkin or an assassination or a 911. Can you actually create a Civil War over an issue? They can. And they work on it day and night. Rust never sleeps.
They have all of the tools and resources. Political power, the media, money.
When Mao was losing power he used his wife to destroy a culture.  I see the Clinton’s and their backers doing basically the same thing.  Any means necessary to retain power. Even if it takes down the whole country in process.  It doesn’t matter who you sleep with. Change the laws change the religion change the family destroy the family blame the culture, blame this one and that one, it’s all justified.
But never blame those w the big $, the ones that have no allegiance but to power and who fund your group. Through their corrupt shell game, foundation/money laundering operation.
I guess what they want more than anything else at this point is civil war. They’ve taken civil disobedience and added violence to the mix and perverted Martin Luther King Jr’s. message or dismissed it.
But most Americans still believe it. Most Americans don’t believe in what the neo liberals are pushing.  They have seen what the neocons did to this country.  And they are not buying this divisive “movement” to further divide us, either.
It’s been around for quite some time, three decades at least. It’s never been about uniting us. It’s never been about us. And that’s what Bernie tried  to do and did! Unite us. And look what happened to him.
The DNC has been exposed and yet they keep on going in the same direction. They are still leading the charge off this cliff. Male against female, black against white etc. And these people the majority of them are good people and couldn’t care less. So they’ve come for the children.
Look how CNN twisted what happened and turned on these boys. Got the whole nation  up in arms against them. Now they get death threats and have been docsed.
Can you imagine CNN calling high school kids “school shooters?”  But that’s the side CNN took.  Against kids.  These are foul, evil people at CNN. They are supposed to be journalists and they are preaching hatred against kids.
Back to the wandering off bit.  If there was a group of native Americans demonstrating or protesting or just doing something interesting wouldn’t you want to watch? Maybe you might wander off too, to see what was going on? That was the whole wish and desire of the Native Americans.  They wanted that attention. So why were the boys at fault for wanting to check it out? It was interesting. How did they know what would happen next?
But it’s so easy in this culture to pin the blame on the innocent.  And even feel good about it because you are taking up for the “poor oppressed minority.”   But not the poor, oppressed white families faltering in this climate less and less which Bernie recognized. Austerity.
It’s not good judgment, or just, to do that but that’s what happens again and again.
This time it happened to a group of teenage Catholic boys. Who I think behaved admirably.
Who targeted them?  The minorities that everyone is so quick to embrace even if they are in the wrong. Even if they are railroading an innocent person or persons. Or a whole country.
I will embrace them too when they realize I’m not the enemy.  I pray for them because I have more in common with them than what divides us if they only knew that we have a common enemy. As long as we are divided the problems will become worse.  Our enemies would fall in a nanosecond if we all united.
It’s CNN’s job to make sure we don’t. That’s their real mission, and their real job. Not reporting the news. That’s what they get paid for. Hit pieces against kids. Not reporting the news. Not reporting what actually happened.
No, this time they came after our kids.  They’ve been after them for quite some time. Along with mom and dad.  But Mom and Dad are hopefully both fully awake by now and can see what’s going on.
It’s a whole new ball game when they come for your kids.

If they had taken one tinth of that energy and focused it half as much to saving mountains and streams...the land, God’s creation, over which we were to be “responsible stewards” not irresponsible psychopaths...as they do to an idea that is so wispy and unclear, “it depends on what is is”...we would still have mountains in WV.
But no, Hell no. They destroyed your LAND people!!
You were comfortable on your couch watching CNN. Your heart went out to a phenomenon a passing fancy the flavor of the month.  Were the mountains too white for you?  They were raping your mother “to keep the lights on” by destroying the fundamental composition of America...Dirt. Your own little fiefdom where you sit, pompous and pussy-hatted on your throne and rule with an iron fist and a divine pussy hat with a clear mandate: Maintain by illogic ucharade-save the Wispies!
That’s right. you have waged war for 30 years for your right to rule in your happy little universe utopian fantasy where you are, not just worshipped and adored but correctly, perfectly.
That’s what  got you going? Spinning like a top that had run out of gas wobbling like a drunken Mexican?
That’s right. “Stop ignoring me or I become a raving mindful lunatic on a yoga mat with a bottle of spring water by my side.”
And I am infinitely mindful of your every infinitesimally small screwup and transgression.
Damn right.
Who knows? What you’re on about. Only you.
But it’s got you going you up off your ass out in the street raving like a fucking lunatic.
Have at it, motherfucker,  have at it. We’ve already had our way with your mother so have at it!
****
I wouldn’t say this if it wasn’t important.
Granted there are a lot of people upset about the election. It’s apparent that the democratic party though, has gone too far w their rhetoric. All this about Civil War, impeachment, and every other extreme Kathy Griffin type of nastiness, isn’t that what it is? You tell me? What is it?
Trump’s approval numbers for July according to Gallup, are higher than LBJ, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter and the same as Clinton. Depressing isn’t it?  But keep swimming.  Keep up the good fight. But be careful about unintended consequences.
There are people that actually voted for Trump. It’s not a crime. They were exercising their rights. Now you want to bash them. I understand. I’ve lived through Nixon and Bush and LBJ.  Mistakes were clearly made and lives were sacrificed.  At this point we have not reached that level of atrocity. Perhaps we should all remember sticks and stones may break my bones.
There is good evidence that LBJ had Kennedy killed. He was in on it. Lone gunman ... I don’t think so. The Warren report was fraud a massive fabrication.
I’m saying this so that you can see and acknowledge that there is a Behind the scenes network. They carried off that coup . And they carried off 911.  They got Americans to believe a lie. Aided and abetted by the mainstream media.
Do you want to know the truth? You’re not going to get it by being outraged at everything that the mainstream media reports as fact. There is a truth community it is neither Republican nor Democrat. It is both.
I don’t know why Trump won. But Hillary was part of the reason. Number one the way she treated Bernie...Number two Hillary herself.  This whole thing of winning at all costs doubling down, Russian collusion, you need to investigate how that all started. It was a campaign hatched on day one. Opposition research that went too far just like everything that Hillary does.
You have to recognize that even when you protest the other side has a right to their point of you. You have to try to meet in the middle. I was an activist for 20 years before all this happened. One of the things that most of us realized was you can’t let anger take over your life.  You can be angry but use it in a constructive way! Our model was Gandhi civil disobedience discourse.
Also you need to look at George Soros from the other side. What they really want is a police state. They want to stifle dissent.  Which is ironic. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t call people racist who simply disagree on the way to proceed. The kind of solution on immigration etc.  I don’t care if you have the pope on your side calling people out as racists for wanting to enforce immigration laws that already exist that have existed for years in every country. Why would such a radical agenda as open borders be promoted?  Is that not a dangerous idea? Just open the borders to everyone? It would be nice if we lived in that kind of world. But there are bad guys and we don’t live in that kind of world.
There is so much wrong with the liberal agenda right now. It is diametrically opposed to historical liberalism. You hurt your cause w some  of the tactics that are used to promote your cause.
You need to break away from all of that because number one where is it coming from? Consider the source. The mainstream media which is controlled by the CIA. It is heavily regulated by the CIA. If you would do your research you would find out that Gloria Steinem worked with the CIA.  So did Nancy Pelosi. Gloria Steinem by her own account in an interview went into great detail about those days. They funded Ms. magazine. Do you think that she was the only one? Do you think that practice has stopped?
Go to Ted talks on YouTube and watch the video of the reporter who defected from the mainstream media and is now a whistleblower. It is amazing how devious they are and have become.

Also look up Maria Kennedy Shriver on Krista Tippet’s “On Being” talk show on NPR.   She talks about some of the mistakes that folks on the left have made. She talks about her faith. It’s a very good interview. She has written a book.
Sorry for any typos, and lack of syntax. I’m typing with my thumb on my phone. 😗
It’s interesting how Hillary and her supporters. And many politicians.  Oh hell the worm turns. Which is exactly what Hillary Clinton is, a worm.  For at least half a century detente has been seen as a good thing by most politicians and Americans. But now, when it is advantageous to the Democrats to save face, they set up a new boogie man. Guess who it is Russia!Traditionally, it has been the Democrats who were prone to not take a hard line on Russia.  But now and at election time sadly we’re supposed to pay Russians! It’s our patriotic duty to hate Russians ... and lovee the cia!!! WTF.  But Hillary says... oh is it Hillary? Oh yes it is. It’s Hillary. Hillary says, and of course she is very objective here. She just lost the election but no matter. She can still remain objective about all of this. She wouldn’t be blaming the Russians to excuse her own failure would she? That would just be too coincidental too convenient.  Take her word for it. You’re w her.  The embattled and bitter Hillary Clinton. Thats a ship I definitely don’t want to go down with.  I never was on that bandwagon. And I am not now.

Electronic voting in the US is a huge problem.
#1. Both parties have hacked voting computers.  The DNC is famous or infamous for Voter fraud.
#2. They bus people to several locations to vote.   Remember the irregularities in Arizona during the primary? These people kNo there is a pot of gold at the end of anrainbow. Do you think a little thing like fraud is going to stop them?

And ripping it out from under you in front of your televised eyes.
But what threw you into overdrive, What woke you up and ripped the golden pacifier from your mouth ... wasn’t the destruction of the land, the beautiful forests streams and woodlands. No, hell no.
it was your own private ultra specific war ... and you exploded! In your laziness and intellectual dishonesty, you have elevated the smallest vexation and irritation to an Absolute.

Hi Kathy, I'm sorry I upset you. We can agree to disagree? I'm sure there's a lot we agree on.
Number one we are in deep do. But we just know it now but i guess we always have been.
They tried to kill us once already in the 60s, but somehow we fought back and we won. I wish we could have that kind of unity today. I think there's a way but we need to make certain tweaks. Remember it was all about civil disobedience and Henry David Thoreau.  Mahatma Gandhi.  Martin Luther King. Bob Dylan. And I believe that kind of a movement is still possible.  But they've taken away the music from young people and left them with Taylor Swift.
Back then we felt that women had our backs. That's not true today. The feminist counter movement became obsessed with attacking men and advancing some strange agenda, apart from liberating women. It became part of the divide and conquer strategy.
Every movement, is prone to a counter movement.  The countermovement is in many of these movements.  They take the energy from the movement and use it for their own devices and political purposes.  To garner support>votes>power not for the people but for themselves, those at the top of the countermovement within these movements.
There I go again.  But doesn't that make sense Kathy?  It really doesn't matter if we agree even on this. That is just one example of how we can agree to disagree and still survive. This has happened even in the church.  In every movement. Every movement that becomes a household word is fair game and a prime target to be overtaken and used and taken in a direction that it was not intended for. Sometimes the very opposite of that direction. This is true in the case of the church. The goal is to capture the heart. The closer it gets to the heart the more damage is done. If they can’t get to the heart from the inside they will destroy it from the outside as in the case of environmental assaults on our mountains and water.
One of the tweaks I mentioned was allowing God to inform our decisions.  We have to do this first in ourselves.  We have to forgive for one thing. Remember we had Martin Luther King, a minister, a preacher a church person. Yes we do have to be careful. That’s why I say it begins in our own hearts.
*******
I really don’t mean to preach. I just think it’s important that we allow God at least allow people who have that in their make up to exist if that is their dream to have it as a part of their solution.
Some people feel this is an outmoded form of expression.  It certainly can be abused and a means of control which is what God does not want. To me the Lords prayer is the perfect expression of God and also Psalm 23.   But there are many more. These are just two of the ones that have had a major impact on me.
But I recognize that even in myself there is a war going on.  So sometimes I have to step back and re-center.  When everything is working properly within and everything is in balance that is the only time I really have anything to offer.  It’s really easy to fall off the wagon though.  Trial and error.  It’s not easy to get there.
This morning I woke up and everything was fine. Then I thought of some injury or slight and immediately my happiness was gone.   Because my focus became anger.  Yes, I do have a lot to be angry about but I can’t focus on it. And I have to forgive from my heart if I want to be happy, is what I realized.  So i’m working on it. Lol.  OK?   Hopefully I’ll change. Become more mellow, lol. Bear w me ok?  It’s important to me to get along with people care about. I understand if you need a break from this deeply flawed person. I know I’m a handful. I try to shield people from my neuroses and unpleasantness, but sometimes it gets the better of me.  I’ve always been kind of an agitator at heart.  But I will always try to make it right.  Right now I think that people just need a break from all of my drama.   That’s the message I’m giving this morning.
Have a good day Kathy. I hope we can agree on more than just a little.
Here is the song that meant so much to me.  TY.

July 29, 2016 WATCH: Convention Coverage, Jill Stein, Arts Coverage & Olympics
https://disqus.com/home/discussion/wgbhnews/convention_coverage_jill_stein_arts_coverage_amp_olympics/#comment-2811481794
I notice you made a sort of sly reference regarding Jill Stein's "exotic" views on vaccines. This is not the first time someone in mass media has made reference to this, and while I usually scoff at vaccine-skeptics like Jim Carey and Jenny McCarthy, I think the views of an Harvard-educated physician are not as easily dismissed, and I may have to investigate this further, so thanks for piquing my curiosity.
However, there is nothing exotic about her claims regarding neoliberalism fanning the flames of right-wing extremism.
I spent half my life, in what you probably view as fly-over America, and have seen first hand, the economic effects of neoliberalism, and the way they resonate in social and political culture.
There are children in old mill towns, and factory towns in this country, who walk to school in the snow, wearing sneakers that are more duct tape than shoe, without breakfast, and Clinton 'Democrats' expect their parents to be satisfied with gay wedding-cake frosting for two yuppies in Denver, as a sign of progress.
Let them eat cake?
While I won't be voting for him, at least Trump expresses concern for their despair, while it's the Clintons who are widely, and wisely, seen as the culprits behind their misfortune.
So, one can smugly write off Trumps campaign as what happens when rubes who take Rush Limbaugh seriously, get their own cable network, but there's a reason they were listening to Rush in the first place, and 'liberals' ignore these realities at their peril.
We've seen armed stand-offs between citizens of various affiliations (mostly on the right), and law enforcement and government agency staff, and not just in Nevada and Oregon, though these are the most widely publicized conflicts.
When people are hungry; when they despair, bad ideas become reasonable in their minds, and it's not always easy to predict where things are headed when violence becomes a part of the equation. To the left, like the first Iranians revolution? Or to the right, like the second revolution, after we reinstalled the same brutal monarch?
Again, there's nothing exotic about suggesting the Clinton's role in all of this widespread discontent.

You probably know Alabama’s new senator, Doug Jones, because he narrowly won a special election last year against a man accused of molesting underage girls. But there are probably quite a few things you don’t know about him. His first name is actually Gordon, and he is left-handed,1 hitches his head a bit when he’s making a point and is what experts on emotions might call an “active listener.”
That last point dawned on me while I was sitting in the back of an SUV as he praised the virtues of the peanut butter factory we’d just been to — “the technology!” — and we jostled along a central Alabama road on a late May afternoon. Throughout a sweaty, hair-netted tour, he had nodded and peered into things and patiently asked questions. (I, meanwhile, had strained to hear over the nut-rumbling din and contemplated a literal death by peanut butter underneath some sort of hot, belching still that smelled unnervingly like cookies.) The visit was a reminder of just how much the life of a politician is filled with interactions that are mundane for him but momentous for the other person; the conscientious officeholder knows that a bit of attentive listening can go a long way. That’s perhaps doubly the case for Jones, an Alabama Democrat wading through his state’s overwhelmingly Republican politics. Sometimes, he might not agree with what people have to say to him, but, by God, Jones will smile, nod and hear them out.
There are some exceptions, of course. We drove by a yard overflowing with tchotchkes and an unmistakable sign of the South. “I would probably not stop right there at the house with the Confederate flags waving,” Jones conceded in a creaky drawl that’s faintly reminiscent of another southern Democrat, Bill Clinton. “Probably not much point of me going there.”
Jones is the first Alabama Democrat elected to the U.S. Senate since 1992 (and that guy later became a Republican).2 His election in December 2017 came in no small part because of the strength of the black community’s vote. Black voters made up 29 percent of the electorate in the 2017 Alabama Senate race, matching their turnout for Barack Obama’s historic 2008 election (notable enthusiasm for a special election in an off-cycle year), with 98 percent of black women — who made up 17 percent of the electorate — voting for Jones. Jones also won independents and made inroads with liberal and moderate Republicans, groups that Obama performed poorly among.3 Jones’s coalition is disparate, to say the least.
Jones is a Democrat and a Democrat with pretty standard Democratic positions — he’s pro-abortion rights, for gay rights and the Affordable Care Act, and supports protections for illegal immigrants who arrived in the country as minors. But in tone and style he’s a moderate, and a moderate so convinced of the power of his moderation that he says his candidacy was actually hurt, not helped, by the molestation accusations against Roy Moore, his Republican rival. “We would have won by a larger percentage had those allegations not come out,” he told me. “Once those allegations surfaced, the level of interest increased, and the race became very tribal.” (Before the Moore allegations were reported by The Washington Post on Nov. 9, 2017, the race had been holding steady, with Jones at 42 percent and Moore at 48 percent, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average. Three days after the allegations became public, it was a 2-point race.)
But two years away from standing for re-election, Jones is faced with the reality of what it means to govern as a Democrat in a blood-red state in a country divided by tribal politics. President Trump won Alabama with 62 percent of the vote, and Jones’s tenuous coalition rests not only on the support of the black community, but also on those independents and Republicans — many of whom are white in a state still riven by racial tensions.
And that’s meant that Jones has had to become a culture warrior of a different sort, preaching peace, love and understanding to both his liberal base and his more circumspect constituents unused to voting for a Democrat. Call it the gospel of moderation. In today’s politics, a certain temperament is required to be a part of the center that’s barely holding. Most people would tire of centrist sermonizing and turning the other cheek, but Doug Jones swears by it. His re-election rests on whether Alabamians buy in.
Much of Jones’s time is spent toggling between Alabama constituencies. He assures some that their interests will receive the attention they’ve long gone without. With others, he’s feeling out how far he can push a Democrat’s agenda before turning them off. But with everyone, he’s preaching the power of forbearance.
That’s why on an evening in late May, Jones got up to address a crowd gathered for a public health fair in Lowndes County, a place where he won 79 percent of the vote, and apologized.
“At the end of the day, we’re all to blame, somehow, some way — we’ve all neglected this area,” he said. The statement could have covered any number of slights. Lowndes is part of what’s known as the Black Belt, a rural strip that stretches across the state and is known for its rich farming soil and its large population of African-Americans. It also has a public health crisis: Many residents don’t have proper sanitation systems.
“I literally had déjà vu the first time I stepped out of the van in one of these situations because it had the smell and the heat and the humidity — it was just like being in rural Vietnam or Cambodia or Haiti,” said Mark Elliot, who’s an engineering professor at the University of Alabama and has researched drinking water and sanitation issues in developing countries. The region’s clay soil can make septic tanks — which many residents of the impoverished area can’t afford to begin with — ineffective. Some people install straight pipes that send sewage directly into the ground only to have wastewater rise back up, puddling in yards.
Jones offered some extremely Jonesian advice to the assembled crowd to get state officials (implicitly he seemed to mean Republican officials) to respond to their needs. “Don’t argue, don’t get mad, don’t get angry, don’t shake your finger. Just say, ‘We need help,’” Jones said. “That’s the way we move forward.”
When I asked her if she was surprised to have a fellow Democrat in the congressional delegation, Rep. Terri Sewell turned to look directly at me. “I worked my ass off for this,” she said.
Jones is not an outsized personality, but he is a decent-sized one. A former federal prosecutor, he can talk, though not in an overly charming, anecdote-strewn way. It’s more that he just sort of says what he’s thinking into a microphone. It is this unassuming quality that dominates the Jones aura. He is not particularly tall, is neither skinny nor plump and has the balding pate of so many other 64-year-old men. He wears sensible shoes with support. Perhaps the one notable thing about his appearance is his pale blue eyes.
After the health fair, Jones and Rep. Terri Sewell, the only other Democratic member of Alabama’s congressional delegation and its sole black member, toured a National Park Service memorial to the 1965 Selma-to-Montgomery marches. Sewell and Jones are a practiced political duo — all chummy side hugs and comfortable banter.
When I asked her if she was surprised to have a fellow Democrat in the congressional delegation, Sewell turned to look directly at me. “I worked my ass off for this,” she said.
“I told him this could happen as long as we didn’t nationalize it — it came on the heels of the Ossoff election, and it was really important that we kept everything local.” (In one of the first special elections after the 2016 vote, Democrat Jon Ossoff lost what looked like a promising seat pick-up in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District after huge media and ad dollar attention to the race.) Jones tried to keep his distance from national figures and the media firestorm surrounding Moore — as much as was possible.
Jones’s real viability as a Democratic senatorial candidate was always going to inspire some excitement. In one recent year, the left-leaning parts of the Alabama electorate didn’t even have an official candidate: In 2014, Jeff Sessions — whose seat Jones now occupies — ran unopposed, receiving 97 percent of the vote. Jones, of course, benefited from a disillusioned moderate Republican electorate in his 2017 race and from the enthusiasm of Democrats who saw at long last a candidate who actually had a shot at winning. But Trump is still wildly popular in Alabama, and he’ll presumably be on the ballot in 2020, when Jones will be seeking re-election. “A lot of it has to do with suburban voters,” Giles Perkins, the 2017 campaign’s “Yoda” (in Jones’s words — “campaign chairman” in others’), told me about what the senator’s 2020 re-election prospects rested on. “We also have to grow our support in the more rural areas as we focus on rural hospitals and small banks and things that are essential to those communities.”
Turnout is always higher in presidential election years, and Jones will likely have to battle for his seat in front of an electorate filled with enthusiastic Trump voters who might want to vote a partisan ticket, aka anyone but Jones, the Democrat.
Jones’s appeal to black voters in Alabama remains key, and it might lie not just in his existence as an actual factual Democratic senator who got elected, but in his moderation. According to a 2017 Pew Research Center survey, the share of Democrats overall who identify as “liberal” has grown to 48 percent (up from 33 percent in 2008), but only 28 percent of black Democrats identify that way. A plurality of black Democrats, 40 percent, call themselves “moderate,” and 30 percent say they are “conservative.” Jones, for one, is well aware that he owes a huge debt of gratitude to the black voters of Alabama.
“I do think there is a sense of obligation for me to pay careful attention because they have been neglected, and I want to make sure that folks know that I appreciate their support and I want to be there for them,” he said. “I also want them to know that I’m talking about that message in other parts of the state.”
The next day, in another part of the state (one country over), at another rural health-care event, Jones was pitching himself to a very different crowd. It was a mostly white group that had gathered in a room at L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital in Greenville, a small town in Butler County, where both Trump and Jones had won.
Statewide, Jones won independents, receiving 51 percent of their votes. Even though that’s a slim margin, his support among that group stands in striking difference to the 23 percent of independents that Obama won in 2012. Jones’s appeal to right-leaning voters who were turned off by Moore likely contributed to his victory. He also won 21 percent of moderate or liberal Republicans, while Obama won only 1 percent of those votes in Alabama in 2012.
But Terry Lathan, Alabama’s GOP chair, is skeptical of Jones’s chances, saying that many Republican voters stayed home because of Moore but won’t during a Trump year. “I can tell you the Republican Party and the activists are champing at the bit to get to him in 2020, and he’s got to know that,” she said. “You cannot play political middle of the road and not get run over. You’d better get on one side or the other.”
After a few minutes of remarks, during which Jones bemoaned that Alabama had “left a lot of dollars on the table” by not expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, he took questions from the crowd. One came from a man in the back who introduced himself as “a local peanut man, barbecue man” and who wanted to know why the ACA was a good thing: “Because there’s a lot of people in our community who tell me it’s not.”
Southern politics have “always been a folksier, back-slapping good old boy kinda thing,” Jones said. “And I don’t mean that in a sexist way — I just mean it in a country way.”
It was the gracious version of a question that Jones will be asked again and again over the next two years. And he can be impatient with this GOP line. Jones told me that he’s sometimes frustrated by conservative Alabamians who want his help: “They see the federal government as not being good and don’t really fully appreciate the fact that their public officials need those federal dollars to help their roads, to help their schools, to help save their hospital.”
But Jones didn’t say that to the man in Greenville. Instead, he played the attentive listener, seemingly wanting to know how far to the left his constituents will allow him to go. “Let me qualify this because I don’t want you to think that I’m in favor of single payer like Bernie Sanders, but there is more and more talk about not single payer but a public option that people buy into,” Jones said. “I’m curious as to whether any of you have thoughts.”
People did. Some were open to the idea. Many talked about the high insurance deductibles people face under the current system — they can’t pay them. Dexter McLendon, the mayor of Greenville, a jowly man who wore cowboy boots with his suit and voiced some anti-ACA sentiments during the event, wrapped it up by delivering something of a locker-room pump-up speech: “We gonna sit down here and die and rot on the vine? I mean, I’m not!”
In the car, on our way to the event, I’d asked Jones about the way Southern politics is typically performed. “It’s always been a folksier, back-slapping good old boy kinda thing,” Jones said. “And I don’t mean that in a sexist way — I just mean it in a country way.” The Greenville mayor’s style was definitely channeling that legacy. But he seemed to like Jones, seemed to respect his game. “Let’s give him a hand,” he said, turning to the senator. “He and I don’t agree on everything, but he’s very nice to come.”
The Alabama touches in Jones’s Washington office are obvious. The senator’s preferred seat is a wicker rocking chair covered in white cushions, and the mantlepiece of the marble fireplace is bookended by two signed footballs, one emblazoned with the scarlet University of Alabama “A” (the senator’s alma mater) and the other with “Doug Jones U.S. Senate.”
The space is a visual reminder of how much Alabama and its buffeting political and cultural currents have shaped Jones. His political moderation might be strategically advantageous, but it also isn’t insincere. Jones and his politics are very much of a place and time.
In the center of the office mantlepiece is a picture of a young Jones leaning over to whisper in the ear of an older man at a microphone, Alabama Sen. Howell Heflin, a conservative Democrat who represented the state for 18 years. For a time, Jones served as a staff counsel for the senator. Heflin left the Senate in 1997 and was replaced by Sessions, meaning that Jones now occupies the seat of his former boss. (Perkins told me that Jones was originally considering a run for governor but that switched after a conversation in Perkins’s living room. “His heart had always been in the U.S. Senate,” he said.) Jones fondly recalled that he’d called Heflin during law school, asking if he could work for his campaign. The senator replied that he could if Jones raised enough money to pay for his salary. He did, getting the hang of fundraising calls from an early age.
Jones’s ideological evolution was gradual, although he was always interested in politics. “I don’t think there was an epiphany,” he said. “I didn’t consider myself a George McGovern liberal Democrat. I was not that anti-war at all — very socially conservative at the time.” He voted for Richard Nixon the first time he could cast a ballot but grew disillusioned by Watergate during college. He did field organizing in Alabama for Jimmy Carter’s 1976 campaign and then worked for Heflin. In 1988, when Joe Biden ran for president, Jones served as state co-chair for the campaign.
By that time, Jones was a successful lawyer, although he had yet to try the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing case, which received national attention for convictions of two KKK members for the decades-old crime that killed four young black girls in Birmingham. After he won the case, Jones considered running for the Senate. “People forget that I was going to do that in 2001,” he said. “I was coming off the church bombing case. It was Jeff Sessions’s first re-elect coming up — I really felt like there was an opportunity and so that summer after I left the U.S. attorney’s office, I started going around meeting folks, raising a little bit money, not a lot. And then 9/11 hit.” After that, Jones said, everything changed. It was too hard to run against an incumbent Republican in a deep-red state during the post-attack atmosphere. He’d wait another 16 years for a shot at the seat.
“I try to just hold my tongue and go off by myself and beat my head against a wall,” Jones said. “There has to be a certain element of discipline that comes with this job.”
Jones’s sense of history was on display during his maiden Senate speech in March, when he invoked something Heflin had written: “Compromise and negotiation — the hallmarks of moderation — aimed at achieving moderate, centrist policies for our country, should not be viewed as negatives.” Jones took to the floor to cite these words a month after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. He spoke about the need for better gun regulations, called for senators to support his Democratic colleagues’ bills, but also said this:
“Frankly, I also enjoy guns. I enjoy shooting them. I like how they are made, their power, and their history. I own many of them, all stored in a locked gun safe that is, quite frankly, larger than what my wife initially approved a number of years ago. And collecting them and shooting them at the range or hunting is a bond I share with my son Christopher and many of my friends.”
Though the American South, especially in 2018, can be a much-maligned place in the eyes of many liberals, Doug Jones is a man of his culture. And he talks about it.
Jones certainly seems more at ease in Alabama. In D.C., he was still getting used to the senatorial pace of life, or, as he put it, “still drinking from the fire hose,” with constituent meetings and staff briefings done in “West Wing”–esque walk-and-talks on the way to committee votes. But back home, he was looser. After an evening event, he couldn’t wait to drive to an old Montgomery seafood place — “Jubilee! Jubilee! It’s Jubilee!” he shouted to members of his staff, jubilant that they had remembered the name of the restaurant after collectively blanking on it. In the car on our drive, he ribbed me about the state of football in my home state, Ohio (Jones is an SEC man through and through and has tickets to the Alabama games that entitle him to lockers in the stadium where he can store adult beverages of his choice to sip on, a nice perk, since alcohol sales are banned by the league), and proved most animated when talking about the history of Alabama politics, of which he seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge.
I asked him about segregation — Jones was born in 1954, the same year that Brown v. Board of Education officially ordered that U.S. schools be integrated.
“For me, segregation didn’t really mean anything,” Jones said of his early childhood. “It was just not something that as a child and growing up that you think about.” He acknowledged he grew up “fairly sheltered,” a white boy in an all-white neighborhood, though Jones said “it was not a hateful neighborhood — no one was out burning crosses.” Fairfield, a town outside Birmingham, where Jones grew up, is home to a U.S. Steel mill, where Jones’s father worked until he was 80 years old. I asked if his family had supported George Wallace, the Alabama governor who ran for president on a segregationist platform.
“Hell, everybody in Alabama supported George Wallace, sure!” Jones said. “Everybody was a Democrat too. The thing about the Democratic Party at the time — and I say this a lot when people say they want to bring the Democratic Party back — I say, ‘Hell no we don’t! Not the rooster!” A white rooster was the old symbol for the Alabama Democratic Party, and the logo was often accompanied by the slogan “white supremacy for the right.”
“I’ve tried to think back a lot to those days, and I remember some of the Wallace stuff. But in the back of my mind, there’s also something telling me that my dad was kinda a Ryan deGraffenried supporter,” Jones said. DeGraffenreid Sr., a candidate for governor, was a relative moderate by Alabama standards — meaning that he was still a segregationist — but he condemned Wallace’s inflammatory rhetoric. “I’ve never really talked to dad about that over the last few years,” Jones mused. “He might remember that — he’s got dementia, so you tend to remember things from far back.”
Jones’s long political memory is a reminder that while he is a new senator, he’s no political naif, but someone with a full life experience and a certain confidence in his decision making.
“He’s a good thinker,” Greg Hawley, Jones’s former law partner, told me. “I don’t think he’s what I would call a collaborative thinker. I think he internalizes a lot of things. He’s good at figuring out things on his own without a lot of input.”
Jones has had to think through some difficult decisions of late, particularly when it comes to Trump Cabinet appointments. He joined the majority of Democrats in voting against Gina Haspel to be director of the CIA but voted for Mike Pompeo’s nomination for secretary of state, one of only a handful of Democrats to do so, despite reservations about Pompeo’s history of anti-Muslim remarks and anti-gay rights policy stances. (Since taking office, Jones has voted in line with Trump’s position 56.3 percent of the time. The only Democratic senator who has voted with Trump more often is Joe Manchin of West Virginia.) Jones got pushback from some of his more liberal supporters for the Pompeo decision, including his son, Carson, who is gay.
“He expressed some disappointment in the vote, and I said, ‘I understand, I got it,’” Jones said.
In a highly partisan atmosphere, with the constant thrum of social media as background to nearly every political happening, it’s impossible not to get pushback on votes or public statements. I asked Jones, who seems preternaturally even-keeled, what does actually push his buttons.
“I’ll tell you what really gets me politically are the people who are disingenuous, who will pander, who are intellectually dishonest just to try to get a vote,” he said. “I try to just hold my tongue and go off by myself and beat my head against a wall. There has to be a certain element of discipline that comes with this job.”
It reminded me of some advice a friend had gotten from his father in moments of frustration: Measure your response by how it serves your goal, not by how it serves your fury. The newly elected senator from Alabama has lived long enough to know that immoderate fury does not serve the goal of the radical moderate.
“I guess I need to show you my picture,” Synethia Pettaway said to me, getting up from the dining-room table in her high-ceilinged, colonnaded home that, as she put it, “was not built for me to live in, but God saw fit for me to be able to purchase.” She meant a black woman wasn’t ever supposed to live in this pretty white house in Selma, Alabama.
She came back with a framed black-and-white photo showing five nuns in old-fashioned white wimples beaming down at a baby. There’s another person in the photo — Martin Luther King Jr. He’s looking at the baby, too, holding her hand.
“His birthday and my birthday are the same, so they wanted him to meet me because I was born on Jan. 15, 1965,” Pettaway said. “They say he told me I would be a civil righter, so I have been out there ever since.”
Pettaway is the head of the Democratic Party in Alabama’s Dallas County and one of a network of black political and civic leaders who helped mobilize voters for Jones. The county, which is 69.5 percent black, went for Jones with 75 percent of its vote. When Sessions ran uncontested in 2014, he received 4,825 votes and no write-in votes in the county. In 2017, Jones got 10,492 votes to Moore’s 3,485.
“The honeymoon’s going to be over next year — it’s over in 2019,” Sam Jones, the former mayor of Mobile, told me.
The black community of Alabama has for many years been underrepresented on the federal level, and its struggles for even a shot at equal representation are ignominious legend: police dogs, fire hoses and nightsticks. Pettaway is sanguine about Jones’s prospects for success — she wants to get things done, like getting funds for a better highway through the Black Belt — but she also cautions that Jones still needs to do work to build a deeper understanding of the black community. When F.D. Reese, one of Selma’s “Courageous Eight” who marched with Dr. King to register black voters, died in April, Pettaway said, Jones never reached out. Things like that would need to change going forward, she said. Still, Pettaway said, she’s one of Jones’s biggest proponents.
“The honeymoon’s going to be over next year — it’s over in 2019,” Sam Jones, the former mayor of Mobile, told me over the din of cocktail party chatter at the 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile gala, where Jones was delivering a keynote address. That’s when Jones would have to make real, serious decisions and be called more publicly to task. “I’d start planning for that right now,” the former mayor said.
For Pettaway, seeing the collective votes of black Alabamians put Jones into office was powerful — on election day, a video of a woman casting the first ballot of her lifetime went viral. In Pettaway’s eyes, the stakes of voting are too often obscured.
“People that you vote for determine where you’re born, how you’re born, who you’re born by,” she said. “They determine how you live, who you can marry and where you are married. When you die, they determine how you can be buried and where you can be buried. … They determine all of it. So voting is important.”
And Doug Jones needs to keep Synethia Pettaway’s vote.

Twitter Revolts Against David Hogg's Blood Money Book Last Wednesday David Hogg and His Sister Lauren announce their book deal with Penguin Random House Today @lauren_hoggs and I are announcing our book #NeverAgain that tells the story of the foundation of this movement for those we lost. Lauren and I will be using the money made from the book to help heal the community. #NeverAgain out June 5th https://t.co/Vh2gWVWNGq — David Hogg (@davidhogg111) April 18, 2018 Since then a great many people are pretty upset with this hypocrite. Despite David Hogg crying that the NRA, Dana Loesch, and Senator Marco Rubio having blood on their hands for profiting off the deaths of 17 innocent lives. David Hogg is now doing the same thing. David Hogg claimed that he will be using the money to help "Heal Parkland" except he didn't tell us how much of the profits and how he actually intends to "Heal Parkland?" Something tells me him driving a brand new car is in his future. He appropriated the book title “Never again.” This phrase was already associated with the Holocaust remembrance movement. Which is why we called for a boycott of Penguin Random House to Force a book title change. It's sickening enough his profiting off of those 17 lives. Now David Hogg is going to use 6 million Jews? Before anyone starts crying David Hogg's "Never Again" message has the same meaning as the Holocaust remembrance... Learn some F'n history. David Hogg wants to disarm the United States, while the Holocaust "Never Again" message means 'Take up arms because the Jewish people will never again be defenseless as they were in Nazi Germany.' It is a complete 180 from the Holocaust's "Never Again" message. We detailed the history of The holocaust remembrance's "Never Again" and it's true message Click Here. Related Story: Stop The Appropriation Of “Never Again” A barely literate 17-year-old, on top of making his CNN appearances, his town halls, graduate High school and let's not forget actually working on getting gun control regulations passed. All that and STILL write, get it edited, printed and distribute all in six weeks? Calling BS pic.twitter.com/d97Kb1kwuR — Mezz (@bluepillsheep) April 21, 2018 Bullshit - it will go to liberal causes to take way our rights. Don’t worry you’ll get backlash — Lizzy (@seacliff4) April 22, 2018 Yeah sure....just like the Clintons used their money for Haiti... it’s all a scam you are being led down the wrong path ...you will be a total loser in less than a year — atom58 (@atom58) April 20, 2018 This is the TRUE MEANING OF #NeverAgain Sadly, but YOU pushing for Gun control, this is what happens pic.twitter.com/RR4fERVHop — Momw/ink Deplorable (@RetNavyPatriot) April 20, 2018 Extremely vague charity, sounds like you were coached by the biggest dem crook out there Madame Secretary @HillaryClinton She knows how to hide money! Ask the Haitians — Pony Express 󾓦 (@ponyexpress_gsc) April 20, 2018 Since you’re such a man of character, I’m guessing your donating all the proceeds to the victims families? Or are you cashing in on this tragedy? — Ryne Valek (@Valek_Ryne) April 21, 2018 David, you really need to grow up, man up. Never again? Read about the history of the holocaust!!! Are you even aware that the socialist, the Nazis killed millions of innocent people. Those people, especially Jewish and gays did not have guns to fight back. — JRod (@Jfighter9) April 22, 2018 You need to learn how to read before you can write! Read a history book Mr Hogg! — dumvet (@dumvet2) April 22, 2018 Media Matters and Angelo Carusone going to write the book for you? George Soros on the cover? — Puddy Allen (@PuddyAllen) April 20, 2018 Omg for real? I think I want to puke. Money for healing the community my ass. — Momma Bear (@mommabearkip) April 20, 2018 Nice. Using a tragedy to get publicity and make money. Maybe if you were more specific about how much of the funds would heal and exactly where it will go might go a long way in providing you credibility. — Sally Anne Taylor (@SallyAnneTaylor) April 20, 2018 Wow that was fast! The State Of The Union Hasn't Even Been Delivered- But Liberals Are Already Crying
Ash Sharp Editor
The state of the union? More like a state of panic.
There is little to be said at this point beyond a heartfelt plea to the American Psychiatric Association to please, for the love of all that is good and pure, recognize Trump Derangement Syndrome as a clear threat to the well-being of millions of non-working American citizens.
How many know-it-all students do you know? Simultaneously self-righteous yet woefully uninformed, Campus Reform managed to net a handful of woke kids to say how racist Donald Trump was at the State of the Union address, which doesn't take place until tonight.
youtube
OK, we know that going onto a campus and asking for kids to denounce Cheeto Hitler is a crap-shoot. Too easy, and of course we don't see how many students didn't fall for it, so while I appreciate the gag- we're not going to run a story based on a video. Who do you think we are, Buzzfeed? At Republic Standard, we are professionals. We use hard evidence to show how foolish those darned liberals are. Yes, you got it- we're going on to Twitter.
Memo to journalists and pundits (including Van Jones) who will comment after the State of the Union: a president reading from a teleprompter for 45 minutes without melting down does not make him presidential.
— Norman Ornstein (@NormOrnstein) January 28, 2018
Ha! It's funny because Ornstein is making out like the President is stupid. Heh. Stupid Trump and his mega lame being a successful person. BURN.
Here are my three predictions for the State of the Union: 1) Trump will tout a racist immigration proposal supported by white nationalists, but will do it using normal-sounding rhetoric. 2) He will not smear feces on himself. 3) CNN will lose its mind praising the speech.
— Ian Millhiser (@imillhiser) January 30, 2018
Ian. Buddy. Are you ok? This is not normal behavior. Nurse, bring the Vicodin and whiskey.
I hope *ALL* (D)s skip the State of the Union. It's horrific enough that a few (R) women support everything racist old white men do and say. There's no good reason for anyone to attend because no truth will be told there. Don't enable evil. #SOTU #BoycottStateOfTheUnion https://t.co/ROTJyS1M3G
— Bandit Aléatoire (@BanditRandom) January 28, 2018
It wouldn't be an event with the attendance of The Donald without someone starting a hashtag slacktivist campaign to boycott it- don't forget to shame people for being women with different opinions to you while you are at it. Yes, you too can fight against the powers of Literal American Fascism by simply not turning on the TV. Good job. You are also enriched intellectually by learning nothing at all. As the Buddhist sage  Shariputra teaches, an empty mind is a good thing to achieve.
Friendly reminder that you don't have to watch the State of the Union. It's okay if hearing a racist sexual predator talk for an hour is not something you want to put yourself through. It's not your civic duty to traumatize yourself.
— laura olin (@lauraolin) January 29, 2018
Oh my God, did Harvey Weinstein become president overnight? That's it, I'm moving to Canada. Watching someone speak is a traumatic event these days- and we wonder why China is doing so well. If you oppose someone, isn't it a good idea to know what he wants to do? This is why liberals lose. Trump reads Sun-Tzu, and they read Harry Potter.
Let’s hope the media can restrain itself from calling Trump “presidential” if he simply doesn’t say anything racist and moronic during his State of the Union address tomorrow night.
— Greg Shugar (@GregShugar) January 29, 2018
A theme appears. Apparently if the media call the President of the United States 'presidential' some kind of hell-mouth of degeneracy will open up in America. Will it be one to rival California? Who can say? Thanks for reminding your followers that you think Trump is a big ole dum-dum, Greg. I'm sure they didn't know that one.
Pundits, don’t get too excited if Trump manages to deliver his State of the Union address without foaming at the mouth or saying something overtly racist, writes @michelleinbklyn. https://t.co/8wjO0ALUmU
— NYT Opinion (@nytopinion) January 30, 2018
At least the New York Times won't be complicit in destroying the nation by saying something positive about Donald Trump. So if he doesn't literally froth at the mouth like an animal you're saying that is a good thing, right? Would you be happier, Michelle? Here for you.
OK, alright. enough of the lollygagging. There is a serious point here. As Politico reports, the boycott idea has extended to Congress:
Several House Democrats announced they would not attend, including Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), John Lewis (D-Ga.), Jan Schakowsky, (D-Ill.), Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.). Reps. Jayapal, Lewis, Waters, and Wilson decided to skip it after Trump’s incendiary comments on Haiti and other African countries. Blumenauer will instead send a DACA recipient, a so-called Dreamer, in his place to “remind Trump that these are real people with families and jobs, who are vital to our communities.” Schakowsky, who is also boycotting because of president’s comments, said in a statement, “The American people have been subjected to a year of racist, erratic, and divisive behavior from their Commander in Chief, and I refuse to accept that as the new normal.”
Well, first things first, Ayanna and Elizabeth of Politico, I hate to break this to you but Haiti is not an African country. It lies about 700 miles off the coast of Florida, you know. It is, however, a country that was exploited extensively by the Clinton Foundation, you might have read about it. You won't have read about it in Politico, of course. They've never covered that story, despite writing puff pieces about the Clintons for years. Weird!
Secondly, I wonder what the policy of having ICE agents loiter around in the House Chamber is? There is still plenty of time for Democrats to send lots of Illegal Aliens to see Uncle Donald in person. Why not? That would show him. Attention, Earl Blumenauer. You represent Oregon's 3rd Congressional District, which is more than 72% White people. Who do you think you are fooling? You don't live with non-White people, what do you know about their vitality to the community or otherwise?
Jan Schakowsky is worse- a career in politics only notable for its anonymity, save for the last time she boycotted a politician speaking in Washington. Yes, Schakowsky turned her back on Netanyahu in favor of bowing to the Ayatollah and supporting Obama's failed nuclear deal. Schakowsky has said nothing in support of the struggle for democracy in Iran. Her husband was behind the 'bird-dogging' plot to incite violence at Donald Trump rallies during the election.
Excuse me then, if I don't take your example of moral leadership to be worth very much, dear Representatives. Perchance, when you have achieved something, led something. Build anything instead of just breaking stuff because you don't have any better ideas, then my head will be turned.
Finally, lets talk about this whole idea of politicians boycotting each other- and I don't let Republicans off the hook either, many of them did the same to Barack Obama. That was just as dumb, for the same reason. The State of the Union is not for the House Democrats to avoid. More important than whether they personally agree with the President or not, the position to which they have been elected demands them to be informed. To understand what is happening in government, to assist the people of America. So, all these fine political minds will boycott- and watch the address at home, like everyone else. No networking with other politicians afterward, no conversations across party lines, no effort to make the nation great again at all. Yet, Schakowsky says it is President Trump who divides, instead of building.
If these political titans were only a little smarter I would credit them with some Alinksyite tactical maneuvers, but no. It is our old friend the virtue signal. Grow a spine! If you cannot even face your enemy in his most powerful moment, how can you expect to capitalize on his weaknesses? If this kind of behavior was coming from my allies, I would be hopping mad. As it is, all I see is more reason to pity Democratic voters across America. For all that I know that they are following a poor ideology, they deserve better representation.
Making America Great Again takes more than one man giving a State of the Union address, yuge though it will surely be. It needs kids at universities to actually pay attention, so they don't fall for cheap gags. MAGA needs Democrats to be smart opposition to ensure that the reforms that the country needs receive the correct opposition and scrutiny.
Nobody needs stupid kids who won’t learn and cowards in politics who won’t lead.

FINALLY THE TRUTH BEGINS TO COME OUT. DON’T SAY WE AND THE HAITIANS WERE NOT SHOUTING FROM THE ROOF TOPS ABOUT THIS FOREVER. YET, NOBODY SEEMED TO WANT TO LISTEN.
WAS THIS DUE TO THE CIA INFILTRATION OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA, OR A PRODUCT OF THE POWER OF THE CLINTON POLITICAL MACHINE (i.e. The murder of Klaus Eberwein, a former Haitian government official, was found dead Tuesday in a South Dade motel room in what the Miami-Dade medical examiner’s office is ruling a suicide.)

Analysis: 'This is CNN Tonight. I’m Don Lemon. The president of the United States is racist.' And More Press response to the "shithole countries" comment.
See on Scoop.it - Upsetment
Tumblr media
The CNN anchor was responding to Trump's remarks referring to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “shithole countries."
Kenneth Weene's insight:
This may be the saddest story I have read in a long time. What really got to me is at the end of the story, the statements from Fox News. I detested Hillary Clinton's remark calling Trump supporters deplorable. Sadly, while Fox tries instead to call them forgotten, they are now saying the same kind of things about them. If you're sitting at a bar in Wisconsin and talking down immigrants because your wages are low and your job sucks, then you are clearly looking for somebody to blame instead of looking to make your own situation better.
I'm not suggesting that life in Haiti isn't hard, maybe unbearable. I'm not suggesting that gangs aren't running wild in El Salvador—in large part because of what the U.S. did—and I'm not suggesting that there aren't real problems in many African nations. Nor am I suggesting that Norway isn't a better place to live in many ways. What I am saying is that the people who leave such difficult situations to do better for themselves and their families are the people who have made this nation great. I am saying that this is the kind of racist, hate-based claptrap that was used to justify the theft of the property of Japanese immigrants during World War 2 and worse the kind that justified mass-killing of Jews, Romany, and other groups.
If I could get Americans to read and understand one book from my education, it would be Eric Fromm's Escape From Freedom. We have become a nation of necrophiliacs.

BUSTED: THE REAL STORY ON PUERTO RICO
The Real Story in Puerto Rico, Jim Stone Busts Hillary and MSM Jim Stone Busts Hillary And MSM on Puerto Rico… BAD…
BUSTED: THE REAL STORY ON PUERTO RICO
All roads were open, and supplies were being delivered to all points of the island until communists tied to Hillary Clinton ordered the truckers to stop moving.
As of 7 AM CST Saturday morning Sep 30:
All roads in Puerto Rico are completely cleared and carrying traffic. There are no blocked roads. Roads were already predominantly clear, allowing the full three hour drive across the island unhindered, on the morning of September 27. Residents are asking where all the stories about blocked roads are originating. These stories are being told to excuse the fact that there are 9,700 semi truck sized shipping containers that were sent by Trump, packed with food and other supplies sitting in port while the truckers refuse to deliver them to the island, under the cooperation of their union which has ties to Hillary Clinton.
The truckers have been told that if they just sit there, and allow an enormous starvation/humanitarian crisis to unfold, they will receive an enormous payout afterward. Many do not want to cooperate with this, but if any trucker tries to leave the port, they will be immediately fired and removed from their vehicle. The desire to cooperate is far from unanimous, it is to a large degree forced.
The reasons the truckers are being forced to stay in port (one way or another) is because a communist faction in Puerto Rico’s government that has direct ties to Hillary Clinton did not want an aid package in the form of goods sent to Puerto Rico, instead, they wanted an enormous cash payout that they could steal. Right now, what we are witnessing in Puerto Rico is precisely the same thing that happened with the Clinton foundation and Haiti earthquake relief. The Clinton Foundation received hundreds of millions of dollars for the Haiti earthquake, and kept all but a fraction of a single percent. Virtually no help showed up in Haiti.
FACT: Everything the Puerto Rican people could possibly hope for is sitting in port, not moving.
FACT: The roads are completely clear and ready for service to all points on the island. Other than having no trucks delivering supplies, and cars having to find alternate routes around a few flood damaged bridges, traffic is normal. CONFIRMED: The entire route that goes the longest distance across the island that normally requires a three hour drive under normal conditions, was possible to commute in three hours on Thursday morning (and possibly earlier,) but it was confirmed by one driver who posted to social media on Thursday.
FACT: The truckers are simply sitting in port (or on the couch) doing nothing while a crisis builds, they are not even doing their normal jobs of moving supplies that would happen if there was no hurricane.
BIG BOLD KILLER FACT: Power is over 70 percent restored to the entire island, with only “A few localized neighborhoods that need to be taken care of”. This was stated on social media by one of the over 1,500 military electricians sent to the island by Trump to get the power back on because the power company in Puerto Rico was too bankrupt and corrupt to do it, ever.

Pod Save America - Facebook Live
2017.09.27 (0:31:24)
Tumblr media
“We’re live taking your questions! Please do what you can to help Puerto Rico, visit globalgiving.org”
TV: Hello, Facebook.
JL: Hey, guys. We’re doing a Q&A.
TV: It’s the guys from Crooked Media. We’re gonna do a little Q&A. We’re gonna try to do this weekly. Hold us to it. If we don’t do it, tweet at Jon Favreau and ask him why.
JL: We’ll do it if we want.
TV: I wanna start with the really big news, Lovett.
JL: Okay.
TV: That the Scaramucci post released a web video. They’re gonna have everything in moderation, including moderation, he said.
JL: Anthony Scaramucci is such a pathetic figure and I just- it- it also speaks to, like, the broken culture inside of finance that he was a respected, or a semi-respectable, figure for such a long time.
TV: [laughs] Yeah.
JL: Because he is such a, kind of just- thirsty mediocrity it’s out of control. I just- I like-
TV: Very true.
JL: I mean, man. That, you know, that guy is exposed.
TV: Yeah, he is terrible. In real news, the big- the big story of the day is Puerto Rico. The first thing we should say is if you wanna donate then you should donate because it is a disaster that I think is beyond comprehension. Go to globalgiving.org. You can donate there. We’ll put up some more organizations that are doing great work in Puerto Rico. We’ll tweet them out. But one of the first questions we had was- people wanna know about the Jones Act. Is there a solid reason not to waive it for emergency response, or this decision nonsense as usual per this administration?
JL: Tommy, what is the Jones Act? [Laughs]
TV: The Jones Act, otherwise known as the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, requires goods shipped between American ports to be carried out exclusively by ships built in the U.S. This is a very dated law.
JL: That’s weird. 1920s protectionism, did it cause any problems?
TV: Yeah, I mean the idea behind the law at the time was to ensure that we had enough boats and the U.S. had a big enough maritime fleet to take care of whatever it needed to do. In this instance, it is insane that we would- that we would not waive the Jones Act. Like, whether or not there are foreign ships waiting to take supplies to Puerto Rico, to fight this is nonsensical from the Trump administration. They waived it in past hurricanes. John McCain is calling on them to waive it. Like, I can’t understand their obstinance here.
JL: I don’t know. It might be that the people in Puerto Rico are not the correct color.
TV: Yeah, I mean I think this does go back to a problem we talked about early on which is, when you have a couple of these disasters in a row, you do have a limited bandwidth to, like, make decisions and execute on a response effort. I mean, I remember when- after the earthquake in Haiti, it was all consuming for months. And that was a foreign country. But we, I mean, we had people from the White House, myself included, we flew down there. Alyssa was down there too, like living on the ground for 4 or 5 days trying to coordinate things. Dennis McDonough went down there. Tens of thousands of U.S. Marines and Coast Guard – Coasties -- were there, like doing relief. It is- it’s a- problems like this are never done. There’s always gonna be something else and you need to have a President that’s like- that’s focused on it all the time. And he’s just clearly not.
JL: No, he doesn’t- I mean, we don’t know- like, you know. Clearly more is going on behind the scenes than what Trump is saying publicly. L
TV: Right.
JL: Like, for whatever reason -- well, for some obvious reasons -- Trump does not care about getting credit for helping Puerto Rico. He’s not doing as much as he should. It doesn’t seem like they’re doing nothing. I mean they’re totally ignoring it. His Twitter feed is not totally instructive about what’s going on. But still, like it’s a massive humanitarian crisis affecting millions of Americans and it’s not getting the attention it deserves.
TV: And things are just happening slowly. Like there’s a navy ship called The Comfort, which is a- essentially a floating hospital. And it is one of the- first of all, like, the ship itself is incredible. You can perform operations, you can care for hundreds and hundreds of people at a time. It’s also a symbol. Like this massive ship steams into a port and it says, “America is here.” In this case it would be “America is in America” because Puerto Rico is an American territory. But it says like, “We’re here and we’re ready to help.” And they waited days and days. Hillary Clinton was tweeting at them, like please deploy the Comfort.
JL: Right, it’s a big white ship with a red cross on it called the Comfort. It’s- it should be there.
TV: Baffling. Okay, Lovett.
JL: Okay.
TV: Elizabeth wants to know, why is Trump doing campaign rallies? What does this do to American consciousness? How does it compare to dictatorships around the world, like Venezuela?
JL: That’s a great question. So, some thing’s Trump is doing- some of the things Trump is doing are normal. Some of the things he’s doing are abnormal. It is not abnormal for a President to go down in support of a campaign in an off-year race. That’s a reasonable thing and that would be a campaign rally. There’s nothing abnormal around that. Obviously, the way he campaigns is abnormal. What is strange and what is new is, Donald Trump isn’t just campaigning for other candidates, he is going on the road for himself and doing 2020 campaign events now. That is new. That is unprecedented and it’s gotten absolutely no coverage whatsoever. It’s one of those things where if another President who was causing less- fewer problems elsewhere, it would be a big story. You know, you’re supposed to be governing now. You’re in your first two years, it’s not-your first year! We’re still in the first year, you know. The way it works is you get- the president’s supposed to get his first- he or she- well you know, she- is supposed to get her first year. Let’s just do it. We should just refer to generic presidents as women, until- So a President is supposed to get some- a period of time, or expects to get a period of time to just govern. And she is supposed to have that first year and a little bit more - that’s why they talk about the hundred days. And then you get to midterms and then that happens. Then you’re in reelection and then you’re off to races. And then every President’s second term, if there is a President’s second term, has been preoccupied with foreign policy disasters and other crises and problems you can’t see coming. The point is, we’re still in the beginning and he’s already campaigning. He got nothing really significant legislative done in the first 100 days so that is a departure. That is strange. How he compares to foreign dictators, I don’t know the answer to that.
TV: Yeah. I think he filed for reelection the day after he was sworn in, or something right after, right. It was a very strange decision that I think people kind of raised eyebrows at the time but there was so much going on. What I think this speaks to is most Presidents run for President because they want to do things when they get there. Donald Trump ran for President never thinking he would win, with no real course
JL: He ran for President to goose his negotiation with NBC for Apprentice, so that’s why he ran. That’s how dumb we are.
TV: Now, what is particularly strange though is that he is not out like on the stump fighting for priorities. Like, the fact that Graham-Cassidy was his last-ditch hope to get ObamaCare repealed, which, you know, presumably his number one priority. And he’s picking a fight with the NFL and Colin Kaepernick and Steph Curry, speaks to the fact that he doesn’t really care about substance and he’s focused on the wrong shit. Is it like Venezuela? Sure, insofar as, like, a nationalist running around demagoguing people and cultural issues and whipping up fear, has a frightening whiff of that kind of campaigning. But, you know, comparison only goes so far.
JL: Yeah, and he’s also- one thing that is I think a fair comparison is, it’s not that he’s campaigning now. It’s that he has blurred the lines between campaign events and official events. You know, he’s used official events, including in front of the military, to make very political statements which is not something we’ve really seen before. And you know conservatives at, you know, garbage publications that do whataboutism will say, “Well, one time Obama mentioned the fact that Congress existed in front of the troops.” And it’s like, no, these things are fucking different.
[Laughter]
TV: Michael wants to know, how do we keep up the resistance on multiple fronts for a very long time, especially when the same battles keep happening? How do we keep each other motivated? I think Michael or someone else asked a similar question and mentioned the fact that the travel ban, the Muslim ban, was reinstated this week and it was like, the 6th story.
JL: Yeah, it’s- I don’t know. I don’t know. We’re not built for this. It sucks. You know, we- we, you know, we mount a big response to the Muslim ban when it was first announced because it was so crazy and so poorly conceived and everybody shows up at the airport. Then he does a revision and there’s less action. Now he does this and there’s basically no response. And he kind of mutes the criticism by adding countries like North Korea and Venezuela, that makes it easier for them to claim it was never about anti-Muslim bigotry. It’s tough. It’s tough. You know, the good news is- I think that the lowest point in terms of, successfully motivating people to get involved was after the first time the healthcare bill failed and then all of a sudden it came back to life and everybody was kind of unprepared. And then it just passed the House, and that was pretty shocking. I think that was a big lesson. I think it changed out behavior. I think that we all- even most- even during this kind of healthcare push, you saw these disabled advocacy groups and you saw MoveOn and you saw Indivisible and other groups, sort of, coming to the fore and being attentive. I think it’s hard. I think it’s hard to stay motivated. It’s hard to stay motivated on a lot of different fronts. I think it’s hard to stay ahead, but the good news is we’ve been activating really well around key moments, whether it’s the DACA decision or the healthcare votes, and that is positive. I don’t know.
TV: Yeah, I think that’s a really good point. I mean, on the Muslim ban, it was very weird. I mean, one answer is that we’ll continue to fight these things in the courts. Them reinstating this new version of it means, I think, the courts sent a lot of people back to the drawing board to right new briefs, new arguments, whatever. I’m not a lawyer, but the ban itself-
JL: I got a good LSAT score.
TV: The ban itself is weird.
JL: So, I pretend to be one. I like talking to lawyers.
TV: They removed Sudan, which-
JL: Our lawyers.
TV: May surprise people. They added North Korea when, like, maybe 100 people a year come here from North Korea to visit, so-
JL: Yeah, North Korea has their own travel ban.
TV: Yeah, not a big- not a lot of tourism exchange there. Venezuela, I think, it’s specific because the leadership, so you could have sanctioned them other ways. Not travel bans and other ways. They added Chad, which confused a lot of people. Because Chad is a country in Africa that has been a pretty reliable counter-terrorism partner that we’ve done a lot of work with. People are actually worried this might harm our security relationship with them. So, the whole thing is just confusing. You’re right it’s an effort to paper over the fact that they’re banning a religion. But to you point about, you know, how do we keep this up? It is exhausting. And like, you’re allowed to give yourself a break on certain things and like I don’t think any of us benefit from sort of the hourly outrage on Twitter. But being there for the big moments, being there for elections and getting people out to the polls in 2018, that is the key.
JL: Matt Dougherty has an important question. Well really, it’s more of a statement- really a command. “Jon, look deeply into Tommy’s eyes awkwardly, please.”
[Jon and Tommy look into each other’s eyes.]
TV: You wanna make yourself cry? Lovett can make himself cry on command. Are you gonna do it? [Turning red and shielding his eyes with one hand] No, don’t do it. Please don’t do it. Matt, I’m sorry. It’s happening.
JL: I’m not doing it.
TV: This is good TV.
[Laughter]
TV: Jon Lovett, what are your thoughts- Jenna Powers asks, what are your thoughts on the newly announced tax bill? What’s the best way to ensure it does not pass.
JL: I have to say one of the best ways to make sure it doesn’t pass is to have people like Lindsay graham and Ron Johnson insist they tie healthcare to it as well. So, one of the things that’s happening is…so, just backing up for a sec. So healthcare failed. Well they’re not gonna bring this version of Graham-Cassidy up for a vote and they’re gonna miss their deadline for September 30th. What does that mean? Details. Details that I don’t- that are often explained to me multiple times until I retain them and lose them soon after. What matters is they get one shot at a bill every year where they don’t need 60 votes. It’s a budget reconciliation bill, it has to do with numbers and they get to do whatever they want as long as it relates to the budget. And they get that twice a year. They tried to use the one for 2017, the one that they would pass in 2017, for healthcare. And that meant that they had til September 30th to pass it with 50 votes cause they don’t have the 60. Everybody has said, “We’re gonna move on to tax reform. We’re gonna move on to tax reform.” And they’re gonna do the next years reconciliation budget bill for tax reform. Which is a little bit of an easier lift for taxes than healthcare because healthcare and the Affordable Care Act relates to a lot more than just tax rates and numbers and budgets. It has to do with regulations, it’s complicated, made reconciliation a difficult thing for them to use as a vehicle for undoing the Affordable Care Act. Put that aside, they’ve all talked about how they wanna use tax reform. The question is, does that get lumped in with healthcare. Whether that happens or not, I think we don’t- I think we’re gonna get more and more details about the Trump proposal on tax reform this week, maybe even today. I’m not sure, I’d have to look.
TV: Yeah, I think maybe speech today.
JL: Speech today. We’ll see what they come up with, you know. Bannon had been leaking when he still worked at the White House that he wanted, like a high rate for rich people. He seems to have been pushed aside for the more, kind of, whatever old school anti-regulation Paul Ryan types which means, of course, they’re gonna call this simplifying and reforming the tax code. [bad Paul Ryan impression] “We haven’t updated the tax code since 1986. These are what the skirts looked like back then. Skirts today are different. And can you believe how much cameras have changed? That’s why we should cut taxes for billionaires.” [Normal voice] Assholes. So, they’re gonna come out with a plan that’s gonna be about simplifying and reforming the tax code and of course a huge percentage of the money is gonna go to the richest people in the country. That’s gonna be the case we have to make. If they are stupid enough to try to tie this to healthcare, God help them. The bad news about that is, if they do decide- and we will know soon, in the next weeks, if they decided to do just tax reform or tax reform and health care. If they decide to do both, the bad news is we’re gonna have to have a knot in our stomach about healthcare for a whole ‘nother fucking year. But the silver lining to that is, I don’t think that there’s an easier case to make against a Republican tax proposal than, they literally want to take money from disabled children and seniors and working people with Medicaid, they wanna take that money and they wanna give it to the richest people and the biggest companies in the country. That is as clear a case that we could make, as you could ask for. But we’ll see and that’s all I have to say about that
TV: Yeah, I mean, from the early reports it sounds like they’re gonna try to increase the standard deduction and do a couple other things that may make it so they can try to sell this as a tax cut for working people. Just remember that they’re still trying to cut the tax rate for the highest earners from 39% to 35%. They’re still trying to get away with entirely the estate tax. Which means the richest people in the country will be able to hand down their wealth, create these little dynasties. It is deplorable.
JL: They call it a death- they wanna- they, like, do this thing about branding it a death tax. You’re fucking dead! It’s a tax for the next generation to pay on money they’re getting -- that they’re just getting! And by the way a huge amount of it is already exempted, so this is really about a giant tax cut for the richest of the rich. You also see Paul Ryan tweeting about how, like, “Look how many rates there are. Look how many tax rates there are. We should have fewer rates. We should have three different categories of taxes. That’s how we simplify it.” That’s not simplifying the tax code. The number of steps on the- on the, like, marginal tax rate scale has nothing to do with how complicated the tax code and it’s total fucking bullshit. We have a tax code problem. It’s absolutely true. In the same way that there are problems with the Affordable Care Act that need to be fixed. But these guys cannot get past the ideology that they bring to the table to make it possible to actually do something sensible that could actually get Democrats on board and actually do some good. You know, the tax code is- the corporate tax code is larded up with tons and tons of deductions and loopholes and special interest shit, that makes the overall tax rate for our corporations high, but the overall taxes ultimately paid a bit lower. And there’s a huge difference between what some companies pay and what other companies pay. And that’s really fucking unfair and we should fix that. But of course, they’ll never do tax reform that doesn’t ultimately redown to the benefit of the richest people and the biggest corporations and that tries to, at the same time, shrink the federal government and undermine social- the social safety net so it’s a nonstarter for us. Same thing on the individual income taxes. Be great to do some kind of reform that- that you know gets rid of some of the economic inefficiencies built into the tax code that mean everybody ends up paying a little more and rates are a little bit higher than they need to be. But we can’t do that with these fucking people, because they’re not adults and they’re not responsible because you know one thing you would hear is like, “What about something like revenue neutral tax reform where you’re not trying to blow up the deficit with this and you’re just trying to low- what about making sure it’s progressive. So, making sure the tax code is simpler but give the benefits to middle class people and working people.” Never happens. Never fucking happens. So, anyway.
Tumblr media
JL: Taxes.
TV: Taxes. Here’s a depressing one. “Do you think we’ve reached the point where this administration has now generational damage?” Unfortunately, I think that they’re Supreme Court pick, Gorsuch, alone, means that answer is yes.
JL: Yeah.
TV: I think when you factor in the lower courts, other officials, we’re already there. Credit to the resistance, like, people have done an unbelievable job of fighting a lot of things that we thought were a done deal. Like ObamaCare repeal, a whole bunch of other terrible shit. But, damage is done.
JL: Yeah, for sure, so-
TV: And the midterms are when we can cauterize that wound.
JL: The right wing of the United States, which is a global aberration to the right of all the major parties around the world, has control of all three branches of government. We are lucky they have not done more damage. We are- we have played our hand really well and stopped a lot of bad shit. At the same time, what Scott Pruitt is doing at the EPA is costing- causing lasting damage. What Donald Trump is doing to our reputation in the world is causing lasting damage. The rulings that Gorsuch will make 5-4 will cause lasting damage. What Tillerson is doing to undermine the State Department will have lasting damage. What Jeff Sessions is doing will have lasting damage. And by the way, lasting or not, people are being hurt right now, you know. TV: Did you see the thing today about Scott Pruitt having a 25 thousand dollar, like, quiet booth installed in his office.
JL: I can’t even. I don’t.
TV: [Laughing] It’s just like crazy shit
JL: The shit that’s going on between- between Mnuchin-
TV: Let’s talk about Tom Price.
JL: Well, yeah, we’ll get to- between Mnuchin trying to get a honeymoon military aircraft escort in like a fucking, you know, navy warship to take him to St. Bart’s or whatever. And Scott- and Tom Price being like, “I wanna have lunch with my son. So lemme go- lemme go visit a pharmacy and call it a work trip and get a fucking private jet.”
TV: So, breaking news on Tom Price. The Washington Post reported that Donald Trump has said he’s really mad about Tom Price taking, I think the last count was 300 thousand dollars’ worth of private jet flights. And like Lovett was saying, like, he flies somewhere for 90 minutes, barely speak to anyone, on a route that he could’ve easily taken a commercial flight to get to, have lunch with his kid, dick around, and then fly right back.
JL: Look, anybody that has traveled for work in the world knows that, you know, oh, you know what, I wanna, I’m visiting a friend somewhere. But you know I could set up some meetings there and then my company will pay for it. There are people watching this live feed right now that know what we’re talking about.
TV: And that’s fine if you’re taking Southwest
JL: You’re buying. That’s fine, that’s fine! You play a little fast and loose. But imagine if you told your boss, oh by the way, I had lunch with my sister in New York and I met with some of our clients. I took a fucking Learjet.
TV: The easiest decision- the easiest and most popular thing Donald Trump could do right now is fire Tom Price.
JL: By the- Tom Price should be fired! Maybe he shouldn’t have been flying around the country, he could’ve helped pass Donald Trump’s signature piece of legislation. I’m glad he didn’t!
TV: And also, this speaks to what a coward Donald Trump is.
JL: He couldn’t do it.
TV: If he was really the “you’re fired” guy, he would just fire him. And he would make an example out of him about waste and government abuse and the editorial pages would applaud him and Democrats- and he might have a rough ride for his next HHS secretary in a committee hearing. Who cares?
JL: Yeah, it’s- it’s so clear he should fire Tom Price. It’s like, the biggest win for him. It would- he could blame him for healthcare, which is obviously something trump wants to do, I don’t know why he hasn’t done it yet. One thing I wanted to come back to. Matt Cooper said, “Do you think eliminating the legislative filibuster- “
TV: I was just reading that one.
JL: Well then, we’re on the same page. “Could actually end up doing some good in the long run?” that’s a great question. I’m glad you brought it up only because we didn’t mention it when we were talking about tax reform and when we were talking about healthcare. There is always a risk. Donald Trump has been pushing for the end of the filibuster. We’ve been a little bit protected by the fact that there’s such a- there’s such acrimony between Trump and McConnell and McConnell has said- you know McConnell has values. He seems to have some desire to protect the filibuster. But that could change, it depends on who he’s maddest at -- is he mad at Trump or is he mad at the Democrats? Is he mad at his own colleagues? I don’t know. I don’t know about eliminating the filibuster. You know, I see both sides of it. I think probably in the long term, I think it’s probably something that will go and is a relic and we’ve gotten rid of basically every other aspect of the filibuster except for the legislative one. And by the way, a lot of the rules and comedy and procedure of the Senate has also gone. So, the legislative filibuster is sort of the last thing. I guess- whether it’s good to get rid of it in the long term, I honestly don’t know the answer. It’s very clear the filibuster has been used in history to stop some good stuff and prevent progress on a lot of things like, including civil rights. But right now, the legislative filibuster is the only thing standing between us and a Thunder Dome of garbage and just- I mean, like, “Oh no! Congress passed a bill that allows polluters to dig in your backyard and bury toxic waste as long as they label it.” You know, I don’t know! Like, who knows what they would pass? The 60 votes is protecting us from a lot of heinous shit.
TV: Yeah. Rashmi Halankar says, “Is there any plan of adding more female podcasters to the Crooked Media family?”
JL: Yes
TV: Rashmi, stay tuned. We’re working on a lot of big stuff. It’s gonna take us a little bit of time. But, this Crooked Media thing is not stopping with the people you hear on Pod Save America or with DeRay’s show or with Ana’s show. We want to keep expanding and have a stable of voices that reflects the United States and the Democratic party. And is much, much, much bigger than this. So, stay tuned.
JL: Yeah, I mean, look, I’ll continue to seek and demand attention. But beyond that I want us to broaden the number voices as much as we can. Tanya’s laughing at that.
[Laughter]
TV: Am I drinking a plain la Croix? Yes, I am. And someone asked what Lovett was drinking, I assume it was…
JL: A diet coke, it was a diet coke.
TV: Lovett woke up at 5 in the morning this morning and there’s- went to two different work out classes.
JL: I’m trying to stay ahead of my-
TV: I ran into him at the second one, which was uncomfortable. And then Jon F was there. And then it felt like an episode.
JL: We did-
TV: And none of us were happy about it
JL: We literally were standing outside a gym talking about Graham-Cassidy and I was like, we can’t do this.
TV: This is too much!
JL: But no, but I will, I- last night after dinner I took a special trip to buy myself a piece of sheet cake? I can’t- I am out of control, and so I went to the gym twice to make up for my ridiculous behavior. Who buys a single piece of cake? At night? For themselves? Who’s that Senator who says he always goes to the store and buys birthday cake?
TV: Oh, was that Ben- no Tom.
JL: It’s Tom cotton.
TV: Tom Cotton.
JL: And the question is, what does he mean by birthday cake? Is it just a sheet cake or does it have to say, “Happy Birthday?” And if it does-
TV: That’s crazy
JL: That’s insane!
TV: That’s insane. When will there be new merch? Guys.
JL: There is new merch. We’re putting it-
TV: [Pushing mic toward Lovett] Talk into the microphone
JL: There is gonna be such great merch coming your way. There’s gonna be Lovett or Leave it stuff, Pod Save the World stuff, DeRay’s show, Ana’s show, Crooked stuff. There’s gonna be [clicking and speaking under his breath, pointing at hat] this stuff.  We’re working on it. The store is coning very soon. What Tommy mentioned about how we’re gonna have more stuff to announce and the store [interlocks fingers] think about it.
TV: Piece of the puzzle
JL: Think about how it’s connected
TV: Brent says, “When Tommy looks into the camera I feel like he’s looking right into my soul and telling me to stop eating this brownie.”
JL: I want you to know-
TV: [Pointing into the camera] Keep eating that brownie.
JL: You know what, Brent. You know what, Brent. I’m glad you raised that. It’s real. It’s like- it’s like, you feel judgment from Tommy specifically for your habits because you can tell- Tommy’s like one of these people like, “I can’t believe I ate pasta.” But then it’s like-
TV: I have no self-control.
JL: Give me a fucking break. “I have no self-control-” Yes of course he does! Of course, he does!
[Someone speaking off camera, directing Tommy to the correct camera for his single.]
TV: [Looking directly into the camera and pointing] Eat the fucking brownie.
JL: [Points to one camera] Don’t listen to him. [Points to another camera] Don’t listen to him. Don’t- which is my single?
TV: [points to each of the 3 cameras] Listen. To. Me.
JL: Okay. Don’t listen to him. He’s full of shit. Tommy is all the time like, “Oh, I can’t believe what I ate for dinner last night. I had a whole piece of sushi.”
TV: [Obviously changing the subject] Where’s Pundit?
JL: Pundit’s down there on the floor. Pundit’s chilling.
TV: Any other questions here?
JL: Oh here, you know what-
TV: Cool. Can I ask a good one?
JL: Do it.
TV: “How dangerous is it for the Trump administration to pull out of the Iran deal. Certainly diminishes our word, right? How can we pressure Congress to do the right thing, keep America’s global commitment? Especially since there are other nations involved.” [Spreads arms] This is a great question. The Iran deal is not a bilateral agreement between- a one on one agreement between the U.S. and Iran. The UK’s involved, the French, the Russians, the Germans, UN. The whole world came together to forge this deal because the entire world felt it would slow down Iran’s path to getting a nuclear weapon. If we pull out of that, it is not likely that our allies -- or if we throw it to Congress to pull out of that -- it is not likely that our allies are gonna be with us there. They will more likely continue to take their own diplomatic steps to solve global problems, like we saw Germany do and others try to do. The French have tried to step into a bunch of things. It will hurt us. It will isolate us. It will reduce our standing. It will make us have less credibility with North Korea. It is a horrible idea.
JL: That to me- that to me is the biggest thing right now. So pulling out of it would be incredibly dangerous on its face. Because, look, if we want- there are countries that want nuclear weapons and we wanna stop that. How are we gonna do that? Do you think the deals are gonna be so fucking perfect? You can criticize the Iran deal, there are plenty of things to criticize with the Iran deal. But like, of course it’s not gonna be a deal everybody loves. It’s a deal with fucking Iran! You know, like, they’re not the best. And so, it’s like, well there’s only- it either we let them continue to pursue because they see it as the only path to continue to protect themselves, or you make some kind of deal, or you have to go to fucking war! And you look at- you look around the world and like, what are the successful models? You don’t think North Korea is paying attention to what happens with the Iran deal? They saw what happened in Libya. They saw what happened in Iraq. If our word doesn’t mean anything when we say we wanna negotiate a- out of a nuclear crisis. If our word doesn’t mean anything, if there’s no actual way a country like North Korea can get a deal that they can live with – as heinous and despicable as they are, as vicious and awful to their own people as they are. If there’s no way they can get a deal because they’re- because it’s not possible, then what options do we have? What is the option? Like, it’s- you know, we open this Pandora’s Box and now we’re desperately trying to get the snakes back in and there’s no good options. And these- every person who’s out of power thinks they could do it better, you know. But then look at what Trump’s doing. Do you think North Korea’s going well? I don’t think it’s going well. So.
TV: Yeah.
JL: You know, every administration has struggled with North Korea, you know. We unleashed the greatest of all evils on the world. And we don’t know what to do.
TV: There are real concerns with the deal. We need more access to their military sites. They have an ICBM program that’s continuing apace. But the enriching of materials that could be used to make a bomb is under control. The IAEA, the international community is monitoring it. It’s a good deal, guys. It’s a good deal, don’t believe the bullshit.
JL: And one other thing about it, one other thing about it- just it’s like, you can debate, like- there’s a reasonable debate about the role of, like, carrot and stick. And how threatening you need to be and where to set those dials, right. I get that. And if there are conservatives who are reasonable who are like, “Oh, Obama was too- didn’t send a strong enough signal which made the deal less. Or they seem too desirous to get a deal and that made the deal worse.” Like okay, that’s a reasonable critique. But the damage of pulling out of the Iran deal would be so catastrophic and, anyway. It- you know, it seems like Trump is hell bent on doing it, not because he’s given a fucking thought about this but because he wants to punish Obama. Which is why he pulled us out of Paris, so- you know. Who knows.
[Tommy has returned to the table with Pundit in his arms]
JL: Oh, good. Pundit.
TV: [In Pundit voice] Paris accords was the deal breaker for me.
[Laughter]
TV: [normal voice, handing pundit to Lovett] here’s your pup
JL: [All smiley now] Pundit! Oh, hey buddy. [Lovett growls?] Look at this dog, guys.
TV: Everyone wanted to see Pundit.
JL: Pundit-
TV: What are the pod tours America going to be like? Will there be a rant wheel? You know what, Kathleen, we’ve been thinking about this a lot. I think we’re gonna try to make it…like the shows you know and love.
JL: Plus!
TV: Conversation, great guests, some Q&A with the folks who are there. We wanna do a plus. We want some extra, some games, some fun things
JL: Some games. And we’re gonna do Lovett or Leave it. We’re doing Lovett or Leave It in Madison, we’re doing one in D.C., we’re doing two in New York, so. But I don’t- I don’t know, we’ve gotta figure it out. Maybe we could have kind of a pod rant wheel that just shows up randomly at various points.
TV: Hm. I like that.
JL: That’s an idea. That’s a new idea that I just had.
TV: Jacob Waddingham asked, “Tommy, any upcoming insight on the recent election in Germany? Or Markel feature on what she has/is doing on Pod Save the World.” [looks solemnly into his single camera] Jacob, I’ve never been disappointed in the questioner. Or in you.
JL: [Chuckling.]
TV: I released an episode about the German elections this morning. This very day.
JL: Get your head in the fucking game!
TV: It was very informative
JL: [whispering into mic] Get in the goddamn game.
TV: Slaved away on the questions.
JL: [Snickers]
[Camera finally goes to Tommy’s single]
JL: Oh, man. You guys- I gotta tell ya-
TV: Are Pundit and Leo related?
JL: If you wanna, if you wanna- Tommy, Tommy is- when Tommy is preparing for Pod Save the World, it is like…Stations of the Cross, I mean-
[Laughter]
JL: It’s like, [dramatic impression of Tommy] I can’t do a meeting then, I’m preparing for Pod Save the World. [TOMMY HAS GOTTEN SO RED]
TV: Don’t make me talk about you’re-
JL: Nope, nope.
TV: Your nap times.
JL: Don’t.
TV: On Friday.
JL: I’ve talked about it on the show. I talk about my pre-, my pre-Lovett or leave it disco nap is not something I’m ashamed of-
TV: Are Pundit and Leo related? Yes. Right?
JL: Yes, they are half siblings.
TV: [Gazing adoringly at Pundit] Look at that angel.
JL: They’re half siblings.
[Silence while looking at their computers]
JL: [Blows a raspberry]
TV: Anything else guys?
JL: [Laughing] Look at me moving Pundit around, it looks- I see the shot- [someone speaks off screen] What?
Most likely Tanya: [off-screen] People wanna know if Tommy’s getting a dog.
TV: I’m working on getting a dog. I just got engaged, dog’s coming next. We’re working on it
JL: Come on. Get a dog, get a dog.
TV: I’ll tell Hannah.
JL: Can you guys not see that Pundit’s face is like hidden back here,
TV: Um, okay. We’re gonna close out.
JL: [Finally has made Pundit’s adorable face visible to camera] We’re closing out?
TV: If you wanna help out Puerto Rico, go to globalgiving.org. Donate money, they desperately need it. It is like- the, people there are saying it set the country back 20, 30 years. All the agriculture has been destroyed. I mean, it’s a- it’s a disaster and these are American citizens. So, globalgiving.org.
JL: Globalgiving.org.
TV: Thanks for listening.
JL: Thanks, it was fun.
TV: We like Q&As.
JL: Oh, shit! We forgot to tell Jon we were doing this!
TV: [Laughs]
