I sometimes write some conflict in the Yamada house, but within a realistic frame: maybe Bruce would be suffocated by their love one day. He did have a perfect life, and maybe one day it wouldn't be enough. But he never even go the chance to figure that out, to rebel.

But that doesn't mean they weren't a great family, just that things might have changed later.

anyone else hate when people make bruce’s parents insanely strict or literally abusive?

i feel like part of bruce’s tragedy is that his life was perfect. he had two parents and a sister that loved him, something the majority of the other boys didn’t have (griffin being an only child and only having his mother, vance definitely having some kind of abusive background, robin not having his dad, finney not having his mother & having an abusive father), he’s literally a ‘star’ baseball player, girls like him, he def has a lot of friends, etc etc etc he has a really good life and so much potential, seems like he had everything and was definitely going places

and then all that is taken away from him. That is bruce’s tragedy to me, that he’ll never get to do all the things he had so much potential to do, never come home to his family that love & miss him

he’s so tragic i feel like people mischaracterise him so bad
