“What do you boys want to do after this?” you ask, glancing back at Luca and Kai as they focus on their ice creams. The two of them sit on the edge of the bench outside the tennis club, still buzzing with energy after their lesson. The faint scent of sunscreen lingers, and their flushed cheeks tell the story of a morning well spent.
Kai pauses mid-bite, his little tongue darting out to catch a melting drip before it slides down his cone. His brows knit in concentration as he thinks, his chocolate-streaked fingers almost comically poised. Luca, always the quieter of the two, finishes his bite and watches his brother, waiting to see what he’ll suggest.
You reach over and smooth Kai’s tousled hair, the strands damp from sweat and the summer heat. “What about…” you trail off, pulling your phone from your bag to check the time. It’s just past noon, and an idea sparks. “How about we go and see Daddy at his office for lunch?”
Both boys instantly straighten, their eyes lighting up with excitement. “Yes! Yes!” they exclaim in perfect unison, their voices loud enough to draw amused glances from a passing couple. Kai bounces slightly in his seat, and Luca’s smile stretches wide, making your heart melt.
“Alright, finish up your ice creams first, and then I’ll make a quick call to see if he’s free,” you say, chuckling at their eagerness. You bend down to zip up their small tennis bags, tucking away their water bottles and rackets. Their names are embroidered neatly on the sides of their bags, a gift from Rafe when they started lessons last year.
Sliding your phone out again, you scroll to Rafe’s assistant, Rachael, and hit call. It barely rings once before her bright, professional voice answers. “Hi, Mrs. Cameron! How are you?” “Hi, Rachael,” you greet warmly, stepping a little away from the boys, who are now energetically debating whether they should bring Daddy a surprise snack. “Does Rafe have any meetings or calls in the next hour or so? The boys want to see him, and I thought we could bring lunch.”
“Let me check for you,” Rachael replies. You can hear the soft tapping of keys as she looks at his schedule. “You’re in luck—he’s free until 2 p.m. today!” “Perfect,” you reply with a relieved smile, already picturing Rafe’s reaction. “We’ll be there soon. Thanks, Rachael.” “Of course! See you soon,” she says, and you hang up, sliding the phone back into your bag.
Turning back to Luca and Kai, you find them eagerly finishing their ice creams, their little legs swinging excitedly beneath the bench. “Okay, it’s all set. Daddy’s free, so we’re heading to his office. But first, wipe those sticky hands!” you tease, handing them some napkins. They giggle as they clean up, practically bouncing with excitement as they climb into the backseat of the car.
You secure their tennis bags in the boot and slide into the driver’s seat, glancing in the rearview mirror to see their gleaming faces. As you pull out of the car park, their excited chatter fills the car. “Do you think Daddy will let us sit at his desk like last time?” Kai asks. “Maybe we can help him work!” Luca chimes in, his voice hopeful.
You laugh, your heart full as you drive toward Rafe’s office. “Let’s see how much work Daddy gets done with you two around,” you joke, feeling a surge of warmth at the thought of surprising him with his two biggest fans.
~
The second you parked your car in the reserved spot beside Rafe’s sleek black car, Luca and Kai were out of their seats in a flash. “Wait for me!” you called, though you already knew your words would be ignored. You watched with a mix of amusement and exasperation as the two bolted toward the glass sliding doors, their laughter echoing through the underground parking lot.
“No running inside, please!” you called after them, quickly grabbing your bag and locking the car. Your heels clicked rhythmically against the pavement as you hurried to catch up. By the time you reached the doors, Steve, the ever-friendly security guard stationed by the front entrance, was already greeting them. “Well, hello, Luca and Kai!” he said with a broad smile, his weathered face lighting up at the sight of the energetic boys.
“Hi, Steve!” they chorused, their voices loud and cheerful before they darted further into the building. You reached Steve just in time to catch his amused chuckle. “And hello to you, Mrs. Cameron,” he greeted warmly, his tone respectful yet familiar. “Hi, Steve,” you replied with a smile, placing a light hand on his arm. “How’s Margaret doing?” you asked, genuinely curious about his wife.
“She’s doing well, thank you,” Steve replied with a proud nod, the lines around his eyes crinkling with warmth. “That’s wonderful to hear,” you said softly, offering a kind smile before glancing ahead to see Luca and Kai at the front desk, already reaching for the small bowl of lollies. “I’d better catch up with them before they cause too much trouble. See you later, Steve!”
“Have a good visit, Mrs. Cameron,” he called after you with a wave as you made your way inside. The front desk staff greeted you with bright smiles as you approached. “Hello, Mrs. Cameron!” Jake, one of the receptionists, said cheerfully. You chuckled softly, smoothing Luca’s hair as he eagerly unwrapped a lollipop. “I hope these two aren’t bothering you too much,” you joked.
“Not at all,” Jake replied with a grin, glancing down at the boys. “They always bring a little extra energy to the office.”“Well, that they do,” you said, shaking your head fondly as Kai offered Jake a gummy bear from his stash. “Alright, boys, let’s not take all the lollies.” Luca and Kai quickly popped the last of their treats into their mouths and followed you toward the elevator, their small feet pattering against the polished floors.
As the elevator arrived, a group of Rafe’s staff stepped out, their chatter pausing as they noticed you and the boys. “Good afternoon, Mrs. Cameron,” one of them greeted, while another bent down to fist bump Luca and Kai. “Good afternoon,” you replied, nodding politely as the boys giggled, clearly thrilled by the attention.
You guided them into the elevator and pressed the button for the top floor, where Rafe’s office was located. The doors closed, and the boys glanced up at you, their excitement bubbling over. “Do you think Daddy will be surprised?” Luca asked, his voice full of anticipation.
“I think he’ll be very happy to see you,” you assured them, adjusting the strap of your bag as the elevator hummed softly. As the elevator ascended, you couldn’t help but smile to yourself, already picturing the look on Rafe’s face when he saw his two little boys storming into his office like it was theirs.
~
The elevator doors opened with a soft chime, revealing the sleek, modern design of Rafe’s executive floor. The expansive space was quiet, save for the faint hum of activity from his staff in the open office areas. Luca and Kai immediately bolted out of the elevator, their small sneakers squeaking against the polished marble floors as they made a beeline for Rafe’s corner office.
“Boys, wait!” you called, your voice firm but amused as you followed them at a brisk pace, your heels clicking against the floor. You exchanged polite smiles and greetings with passing employees, most of whom glanced at the boys with fond amusement. It wasn’t the first time Luca and Kai had stormed through these halls like a whirlwind.
By the time you reached Rafe’s office, the boys had already pushed the heavy door open just enough to slip inside. You caught up just in time to see them racing toward Rafe’s large mahogany desk. Rafe was seated behind it, his brow furrowed as he reviewed a stack of papers. The sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows highlighted the sharp lines of his face, but the moment he heard the familiar sound of his sons’ excited giggles, his head snapped up.
“Daddy!” Luca and Kai shouted in unison, running around the desk to get to him. Rafe’s expression softened instantly, his serious demeanour melting away as he leaned back in his chair. “Well, what’s this?” he asked, his lips curving into a smile. He opened his arms just in time for the boys to climb onto his lap, their chatter filling the room.
“We came to surprise you!” Kai exclaimed, wrapping his small arms around Rafe’s neck. “Did you now?” Rafe replied, his tone warm as he ruffled Kai’s hair. He glanced over the boys’ heads to see you standing in the doorway, a knowing smile on your face as you watched the scene unfold. “And you brought reinforcements, I see.”
You chuckled, stepping further into the room. “They insisted. It was either this or trying to sneak into your meetings.” “Good call,” Rafe said with a smirk, shifting Luca onto his other knee. “You two behaving for Mommy?” Luca nodded earnestly, though the mischievous glint in his eyes made Rafe arch a brow. “Mostly,” you teased, leaning against the edge of his desk.
“Mostly?” Rafe echoed, giving them both a mock stern look that made Kai giggle. “We were good, Daddy!” Kai insisted, throwing his arms out dramatically. “I’ll take your word for it,” Rafe replied, pressing a kiss to the top of Kai’s head before glancing at you. “Thank you for bringing them. This is the best kind of interruption.”
“They wanted to see you,” you said softly, your heart warming at the sight of Rafe with the boys. “And they may have bribed the front desk staff with gummy bears on the way up.” Rafe laughed, his deep, rich tone filling the office. “Sounds about right. So, what’s the plan now, little troublemakers?” “Lunch with you!” Luca declared, leaning against his father’s chest.
“Lunch, huh?” Rafe looked between them, feigning thought. “Well, I think I can make that happen. What do you guys feel like eating?” “Pizza!” Kai shouted, while Luca chimed in with, “Burgers!” Rafe glanced at you, his grin widening. “Guess we’re having both.” You laughed, shaking your head. “Sounds like a plan. I’ll call get Rachael to call the kitchen while you catch up with your boys.”
As you stepped aside to make the call, you couldn’t help but glance back at them—Rafe, with his arms full of Luca and Kai, looking more at ease than you’d seen him in weeks. Moments like these made all the chaos worthwhile.

you have been staring at your phone’s screen for what feels like an eternity. your body stays in halt, as if frozen— there is a battle between your heart and brain.
“can i come over?” questions the last message received by you. it’s only four simple words, but it puts an invisible weight in your stomach. blossoming feeling or growing guilt, you are unable to say, unable to pinpoint.
the message before this one says, “i did something stupid” and you recent your burning curiosity and glimpse of desire for even opening it in the first place.
you try to not let your feelings take over again. your lip almost hurts from how hard you have been biting it— finding a sane balance between spirit and body is hard. especially when it comes to him.
a notification brings you out of your trance like state before making it worse, “please,” it says. your name at the end of it makes your breath hitch.
the worst part is that you already went through this already.
you take your phone, takes a deep breath before telling him to not come to your apartment. you prepare yourself to reject him once again. to apologize and to turn off your phone without reading his answer.
however, tonight your body moves on it’s own: “yes,” you send first without even realizing. “of course you can.”
double texting your ex situationship might be the most embarrassing you have done so far.
you throw your phone on your bed before putting your palm in your eyes and groaning gently. you fall backwards, your body bounces on the soft mattress as you rethink your life decision.
it is three in the morning. no one should ever have to deal with this kind of situation so early— or late, considering the fact that you haven’t slept yet— in the day. especially not with jungwon.
the doorbell rings the moment your back hits your bed. approximately, ten seconds after you responded to his text.
a smile creeps on your face unknowingly.
before opening the door, when you hold the door’s handle, jungwon ring the bell again. and, out of pettiness, you want to leave hum hanging a little bit more.
but you don’t.
you open the door in one breathe, the outside door hit your face— it is nothing compared to what you feel when you see his face after so long. well, merely a week.
he stares down at you with slightly widened eyes, as if he didn’t expect to you see you there. although he is the one who wanted to come over. you swear he has got manlier and his freshly new blonde hair makes you weak in the knees.
his first instinct is to step closer. even if his state is as clear as a day, he is enchanting. the scent of the liquor on his lips is mixed with sugar touches your lips as he breathes, his eyes pouring their devotion into yours, his beautiful face.
he leaves you breathless.
his eyes fall on your lips, staring at them shamelessly while you are not capable of focusing on anything but his face. while you are not capable of doing anything but wait for the connection.
he gets so close, starry-eyed and a pink hue on his cheeks. he looks like he is daydreaming although you are right in front of him. so lost in the clouds that he stumbles over his own feet— breaking the rising romantic tension.
you chuckle as he falls against the doorframe, “and we didn’t even kiss yet.”
he chuckles back, standing up straight and trying to maintain is posture as much as he can. he leans against the doorframe he just fell on, trying to appear cool. “i missed you.”
it is lovely, really. it gets you giddy. maybe you even blush a little. alas, you cannot help but huff slightly. not even in a mean way, a very faint smile appears on your face, but just to make him remember, “you’re drunk.”
jungwon doesn’t say anything. he barely even budges, he just blinks at you. he contemplates your face and forgets to answer somewhere along the line. he breathes again, “i missed you.”
he says it softly, as if omitting the fact that he has never said that to you before. it falls like water. angelic and dreamy. oh, so dreamy.
it is your turn to watch him now. with eyes narrowed as you examine his foolish expression. he doesn’t seem regretful in the slightest, as if it was as natural as breathing to him.
“i’ll give you some water,” you sigh, turning around to get into your apartment. he follows you immediately, even closing the door when you don’t look back. you continue, “it’ll make you quiet for a while.”
jungwon’s steps are steady for how drunk he looks. you have never seen him this red in the face ever.
“you have such—” cuts himself as he swallows before giggling. “a way with words, my love.”
you wince. he only calls you that when he is full of alcohol— well, he only texts you when he is full of alcohol, if you are being honest. he calls you nicknames sometimes, to annoy you most of the time. but he only add ‘my’ when he is drunk. he is only ever intimate when he is drunk.
pouring water in a glass, you don’t even respond to him. you don’t tell him to shut up as you usually do, you don’t hit him playfully, you just wince. not feeding into this, it doesn’t feel right.
you turn around to jungwon being nowhere in sight. even as you look around you, he disappeared. and for a minute, you wonder if you are starting to have hallucinations. until someone tap your hand, making you look down.
you almost told a man on his knees to get up before he protested, “please, let me do this,” and honestly, you are just a weak woman.
jungwon takes a shaky breath before starting to talk, “listen, i know you didn’t want to see me anymore,” he starts, his brown eyes get progressively more sad and desperate as he looks at you. “and i know that i have been an idiot.”
your grip on the glass of water in your hands gets tighter. you bite down your lip to fight the urge of saying something like ‘it’s an understatement’.
he smiles, catching your antics, “i apologize for my behavior,” he adds. it shocks you a tad, you frown. “i truly do,” his hands clap together, as if it was a prayer. “i know i said i wasn’t ready for a relationship, i know that we agreed to not see each other anymore but i— i missed you so much. as if my heart was missing in my chest,” weirdly poetic. “i need you with me.”
your mouth gets dry. you feel a jolt deep in the pit of your stomach. you put the glass on the kitchen’s counter. to refresh both of your memories, you speak, “jugwon,” he waits for you to continue. “you’re drunk. please, get up.”
instead, he kneels closer and takes your hand in this, “no, no, not that much,” he pleads. “give me just one chance. one last chance to prove what i feel for you. i—i promise, i won’t fail you, love.”
his words fall out of his mouth like sweet honey. so sweet and tempting. the way he looks at you, begging for you on his knees, his eyes like alluring pearls.
you might give in.
as far as your remember, he has never done that. he has never said those words to you, even as drunk as he might have been. he is the kind to lie to get what he wants, you have to admit.
although you would love to have a reason to hate him— he is not a liar. maybe just a coward at times.
you get your hands out of his grip. his pretty lips parts, ready to beg you a little more but he calms down when you cup his cheeks.
looking down at him, your thumb parts his lips, brushing over their petal softness. tingles runs down your back when he sighs. you lean in. falling, falling and falling into him like you always do.
“please,” he implores. “please.”
you give him a gentle peck before pulling away slightly. his hand comes holding your wrist, a silent plea. you kiss him again. longer and more passionate than before. he kisses you right back.
between a kiss you murmur, “stand up,” and he obliges immediately.
his strong arms hugs your waist. you bury your fingers in his hair before wrapping your arms around his neck. he is so desperate, his entire body curves into yours. you can feel his heartbeat rising inside of your own chest as it goes on.
his mouth is warm, soft and tastes like enough alcohol to intoxicate you a little and enough sugar to make you crave for more.
you both bump into the kitchen counter, making the glass of water you put there shake. but you don’t care enough to see if it fell or not, because his tongue teases yours just right. you feel faint when he tilts his head to the side to get in your mouth properly— a little too great and little too good.
he manages to get you out of breath after a few seconds. his lips are red, his cheeks are crimson and you want to kiss him again.
“you better do things right,” you grin. he presses his fingertips under your top as you talk, not to take it off, just to touch— it makes you gasp at the end of your sentence.
in a hoarse whisper, he tells you, “i promise, you i will.”

key - december 29th - jegulus - @stag-microfic - word count: 274 rain - december 29th - jegulus - @taylorswiftmicrofic
Regulus should have known, given who he was dating, that things in his life would never be predictable.
He was in the rain, half-running through a storm, phone glued to his ear, when James casually mentioned it. "I'm almost to your place, will you let me in as soon as I get there?" he asked breathlessly as soon as James picked up.
"I'm not home just yet," James said through the line. "Just let yourself in, yeah?"
Nearly tripping in a puddle, Regulus rolled his eyes. "How will I do that, James? It's not like I have-"
"Use the key I gave you, love. On your keyring."
Wondering if he was going crazy, Regulus stopped in the middle of the sidewalk to look at his keys. "James, you didn't give me-"
But he did. Because right there, on his keyring, was a key labelled J+R that he's never seen before.
Swallowing a strange lump in his throat, Regulus began to walk again. "When did you give me this?"
"Last week, when I asked you to move in! That's why you've been here for a week non-stop now, innit?"
And again, Regulus stumbled. Because when James mumbled, half asleep, six days ago, "Just...how about you never leave?" and Regulus had agreed, he hadn't realized....
But now that James said it, the idea quickly took up a rather bright spot in his heart.
"I...yes," he said, a slightly-watery smile on his face as he stopped in front of James's- his- building.
"Want to order something out? Maybe from that pizza place? I'll grab it on my way back."
Regulus could not stop grinning. "Sounds great, Jamie."

same bday anon- i have a yelling req !!!
remus yelling at reader pre or post full moon and the other marauders don't say anything bc they're shocked, but reader thinks it's bc they agree? and then after a while they all make up and just cuddle<3 ofc if u don't wanna it's all good !!! ilysm baby !
I did it more along the lines of Remus having chronic pain than a werewolf thing :/ I hope that’s okay
You’re kneeling before Remus’ slouched body on the sofa, hand in his hair as you try to coax him to move.
“Remus, c’mon. You can’t lay like that, your bones will ache.”
You’re trying to get your ailing boyfriend to find a much more comfortable spot, his body sore and tired and the chill moving through the air wasn’t helping so much.
Sirius and James are in the kitchen- a bad idea but you’d wanted to try to coax Remus into some stretches and maybe a massage before they finished the potato and leek soup for supper.
“I can lay like this all I want, dove. It feels good.” There’s a snark in his tone, but you don’t let it get under your skin. You know how much pain he’s in when he has a flare up like this, so you brush his tone aside.
You run your hand down his cheeks, “Please Rem. I don’t want your knees to lock or your back to twinge.”
You’re as gentle as you can be, patient and understanding but you can see in your mind’s eye that way Remus wobbled and fell to the floor the last time his knees had locked.
“I’m a grown man damnit!” You flinch back from him as his tone shifts, your hand dropping from his face as you sit back on your heels on the floor. “If I want to fucking lay like this for the rest of the night I can.”
Remus’ outburst has gathered the attention of your other boyfriends, and you want terribly to respond to his words, but you can’t.
He sounds so upset and he’s so loud and you feel your chest constrict as you stare at him.
“I don’t need you hovering for gods sake! Go be a nuisance somewhere else.”
Remus speaks with such venom and he looks at you with just heat and anger in his eyes that it’s impossible not to believe this is how he really feed about you.
James and Sirius stay silent, shocked by Remus’ words just as you are- but their silence makes the shame burn hotter in your chest.
This is how they all feel about you.
“You don’t get to be mean just cause you’re hurting, Remus.” Is all you say as you stand, walking towards the front door when Sirius springs into action first.
“Poppet, where’re you headed?” He’s almost beaten you to the front door but your hand touches the handle first.
“I’m going for a walk. I want to stack stones by the river.” Sirius knows what it’s code for. You don’t want to say something mean back to Remus, you want to be kind even if he’s being an ass.
Sirius makes to grab your jumpers. “I’ll come with, you shouldn’t be alone.” You shake your head.
“You don’t have to pretend you care, Siri. It’s okay if you and Jamie agree with him. I just want to be alone.”
“Agree with him? Poppet we,” but you’re already out the door.
James glares at Remus who simply sinks into the sofa.
“You can be a real piece of work, Moony.” James says, hoisting his boyfriend out of the position he’d been in and stretching his legs long on the sofa instead of over its back.
Sirius moves to the living room again, “She was trying to help. Now she’s gone off to stack her stones when she should be tearing you a new one.”
Remus scrubs at his face, heat colouring his cheeks red. Sirius doesn’t let him off the hook. He can’t believe how callous Remus has been.
“Thinks me and James share your fuck off stupid sentiments when you don’t even believe what you said.”
James stops him from saying any more. “I’ll go look for her while you stay with him.”
Remus shakes his head, hissing as he stands; his knees shaky and weak. “I’ll go.” Sirius wants to stop him, but James knows if Remus doesn’t go do it now he’ll spend the entire time he’s home worrying himself sick and then won’t be able to face for days.
Sirius slaps his hands to his thighs, “Fuck off, we’ll all go. I’ll turn off the hob.”
They find you after you’ve already made four stacks of rocks, some with tiny rocks, some with huge slabs of stone.
Remus’ chest tightens as he spots you, your knees to your chest, toes wet from where you’re sat.
“Dove,” Remus starts to say as he stops right beside you. “I was an ass. I didn’t mean what I said.”
You just hum, looking at your stacks and trying to find more rocks for another pile.
“I hate when I can’t do the things I want because it’ll make me hurt and it was wrong of me to shout at you for just trying to look after me.”
You look at him when he crouched down, his knees cracking so loudly you’re worried he’ll topple over.
James steadies a hand on Remus’ back while Sirius procures a couple stones for you. His palm flat as he shows them to you, a little smile on his face when you take them.
“You said I was a nuisance.” Remus cringes as he heads the words back. He really can’t believe he’d been so mean to you.
“I didn’t mean it, dovey. The pain is no excuse.”
“Do you all think that?” You ask nervously, “You didn’t say anything when he said it.” You gnaw on your bottom lip, worrying it to all hell as you look between James and Sirius.
“You’re not a nuisance baby,” James says first, hurt that you’d even thought it was how they felt about you. “I know us not saying anything made things worse, but it was just shock; not how we feel.”
Sirius turns your face up to his, pinching your chin to keep your eyes on him. “You walked out before I could finish. None of us think you’re a nuisance, you’re the best damn thing that happened to us. Come home.”
Sirius is hard to have a stare off with, he doesn’t back down. But it isn’t that that does you in.
“Please dove. You can boss me around till the end of time, just come home and out of the cold.”
Remus sounds so chock full of remorse and when you look at him you find his eyes glassy. “Okay,” Sirius helps you stand, and you receive kisses from all three of them before you the river bed.

Tumblr media
se-mi / player 380 is the polar opposite of you. while you’re timid, she’s a very assertive woman who isn’t apprehensive about expressing herself.
if needed, she’d speak up or defend you from someone without a second thought. she often finds herself doing simple things like ordering your food for you or speaking for you in awkward social settings.
she finds your timidness cute at times, like when you shy away from her compliments.
“hey, you look pretty with your hair down.” “oh, thank you se-mi. it looks, like, average.” “be honest, you look stunning with it down. you should wear it like that more, pretty.”
the way she was able to fluster you every time will never get old to her. she loved to say flirty things for the hell of it, and to of course catch you off guard.
she has a habit of including you in whatever conversation she’s having, whether she realizes she’s doing it or not. it’s more of a subconscious doing of hers. though, she knows when and when to not drag you into discussions of hers.
she hates to see someone targeting you, especially if they know your shy personality. she steps in without a second thought to handle the situation for you.
sae-byeok / player 067 is alike to you in many ways. she never makes an effort to put herself out there unless completely necessary.
in social situations, she doesn’t mind stepping in and doing most of the communication for you.
she’s the first to defend you if someone tests you, because how dare someone come to you when they’re aware of your timidness? especially in her presence?
“hey, i got you. lemme know if they say something to you again.” “it’s fine. i can handle my own, sae-byeok.” “mhm. you better tell me.”
she coaxes you to keep to yourself rather than speak out. weirdly enough, she likes being the only person you trust enough to be vocal around. she likes the dependency.
no-eul / guard 011 doesn’t exactly lack courage or confidence, she just isn’t an outspoken woman. she keeps to herself most of the time, similar to you.
similar to se-mi, she likes to fluster you at every waking moment. she enjoys seeing the bashful look on your face whenever she constantly compliments you.
while she encourages you to speak up for yourself more often than not, she doesn’t mind stepping in for you.
“hey, defend yourself next time.” “i was planning to. you just.. beat me to it.” “whatever you say.”
she knows how you struggle to express yourself, but she teases you nonetheless. it’s all in good faith, though. she knows when you’ve reached your limits.
jun-hee / player 222 is similar to you in numerous ways. while she isn’t exactly timid, she doesn’t find herself speaking out in a lot of situations.
if it comes down to it, she’ll speak for you without a doubt. but if she knows you can handle your own, she’d leave you to it.
she frequently teases you for how bashful you are, as if she isn’t so similar to you.
“you’re so shy, so quiet.” “jun-hee, please shut up.” “oh, so she does speak?”
the two of you can often sit in silence for hours on end, basking in the presence of one another. you don’t speak many words because the solace between you two is more than enough.
she’s the perfect person to be around if you find serenity in quiet rather than deafening settings.
ji-yeong / player 240 is a bright difference from you. she’s very bubbly, outspoken, and animated.
you two look like an unlikely couple, like opposites that people wouldn’t expect to be together. but ji-yeong is adamant about the idea that opposites attract.
if needed, she can always speak up for you. as odd as it sounds, she enjoys speaking up for you when you’re in a non-verbal state.
“hey, want me to speak for you?” “ji-yeong, as much as i love you, i need to speak up for myself.” “okay.. but please take me up on my offer in the future.”
she feels a sort of protectiveness around you. given you’re her partner, but especially with your shy nature. it’s like a need to shield you from anything and anyone.
hyun-ju / player 120 is quite the contrast, as she was never really nervous or bashful. she asserts herself in most circumstances, unlike yourself.
she stands up for you without hesitation, mainly because she knows firsthand what it’s like to be belittled by others.
she’s been in so many situations in which others have degraded her so she knows how to deal with it easily.
“come to me if they say something else to you, yeah?” “of course. thank you so much, hyun-ju. i don’t know what i’d do without you.” “don’t mention it.”
even though it’s hard to believe, you’re able to fluster her rather than the other way around. any lovey-dovey thing you say has her gone.
she enjoys sitting in silence with you, just like jun-hee. comfortable tranquility with someone she cherishes cannot be beaten.

"Really now?"
You looked at yourself in the mirror, your head barely visible above a fluorescent orange collar with multiple layers piling up on top of each other like lasagna.
Who would have thought that finding a dress was such a long and difficult job?
You'd already been in a few shops in Piltover for a good hour each. You'd been going from boutique to boutique for nearly three hours already, and you were beginning to lose hope about the possibilities open to you regarding your outfit.
Tonight was the gala, and you still hadn't found a dress. You'd probably imagined that the matter would be sorted out quickly. That, by some miracle or other, you would find a dress that was chic and presentable enough to wear to a masquerade.
But the clock was ticking, while your search continued unabated. Sélène and Sky had both come to accompany you, and the two of them had enough in common that the teacher-student barrier was forgotten and she just saw her as a friendly aunt.
Sélène had this extraordinary ability to always be open, to see everyone as an equal, no matter what their age or background was. It was an immense and admirable quality, coupled with her extraordinary patience to hold out and persevere in finding you a superb evening outfit.
You had tried on so many dresses that you thought you could now recognise every possible material a dress could be made of. You'd tried silk and velvet, pleats of tulle or organza, all sorts of cuts that made you look either too invested in this evening or far too casual.
You knew that, once you entered the gala hall, it would be an arena. A constant battle of eyes tearing at the others, comments on their appearances, their words - passive-aggressive phrases disguised as condescending benevolence.
You could understand why Jayce didn't want to face such a world, always so hungry for crumbs that left stomachs screaming to invent new words and cover the world with a layer of sneaky ridicule.
Speaking of ridiculous, the outfit you were now wearing completed the criteria.
You turned to Sky and Selene who, with a knowing glance, sighed in turn. You returned to the cabin, removing the dress and putting on your clothes again with annoyance.
"Maybe I should just tell Jayce I can't make it," you concluded as you left the cabin.
"No way in hell," chuckled Selene.
"Maybe we should try the other side of the river?" Sky suggested, after seeing that there was no one around to overhear.
Zaun owned huge dressmaking houses, however they clashed with Piltover’s aesthetic. If word got out that one of the guests at this prestigious gala was wearing couture from the enemy city... you didn't know what that would do to your reputation and the strings that would be pulled to constrain you in your aims.
"No," replied Selene, her eyes fixed on you as a flash of lucidity seemed to cross her mind. She gave you both a wise smile. "There's still a wardrobe in Piltover where you'll probably be able to find something."
She then turned to Sky, offering her a charming smile and taking both her hands, squeezing them gratefully.
"Sky sweetheart, I'll be taking over from now on. I thank you immensely for your time and your very pleasant company." She turned to you for a moment. "Dear, give me one of those tickets Jayce gave you."
You complied, handing her one of the tickets still looking crisply printed, which she handed to Sky.
"Go on a little shopping trip and get yourself some treats. You've earned it."
Sky looked deeply surprised, exchanging a glance with you for a moment as you shrugged, equally confused.
Selene turned to you. "As for us, we've got some real archaeological work to do."
The two of you returned to Selene's flat as Sky had left, exchanging one last minute and promising to tell each other absolutely everything once you got back from the Gala.
"What card did you draw today?" she asked as she opened the door to her dressing room.
You watched as she grabbed a small stepladder. "Three of Cups."
"Aha," she smiled as she climbed onto it, scanning the shelves above, "the cards know about this little soirée."
The little booklet was starting to feel a lot more familiar now: Joy shared with others. Friendship and celebration. The expression of love and warm feelings.
It all seemed very positive, you thought, as you continued to read the page. The Cups reflect the sacred triad of creativity and growth. This card reminds you to share with others. Empowering others increases your happiness, health and wealth. Surround yourself with people who uplift you.
Talk about elevation, you'd find yourself surrounded on all sides by aristocrats and other big heads, where the only level that could rise would be that of clever condescension camouflaged under dishonest smiles.
Selene's graceful hands, full of rings, clutched a large black leather suitcase. She blew on it, a cloud of dust rising into the air as she passed it to you.
“What's this?” you questioned as you picked it up, its weight comfortable in your arms as you observed the trunk.
She bent down to grab the handle of a second briefcase, brown and with the varnish starting to peel off the corners.
"I was around your age when I started getting invited to Galas and other balls of the sort." She descended the small steps of the stepladder, facing you. "I kept all the dresses that some men had offered me."
You smiled, amazed and surprised. "Offered?"
Selene giggled, kneeling on the ground as you did the same.
"They offered me drinks, and the drinks went to the bed, and from the bed came enough adoration that I have to my credit two or three divorces in which I am the centre of the affair." She sighed as she undid the two golden buckles guarding the sealed chest. "They covered me with jewels," your eyes passed over her hands again, "flowers, and on special occasions, dresses."
She opened it, and your lips parted at the beauty of its contents. She pinched an emerald-green piece of fabric, lifting its heavy velvet into the air before you and revealing a winter dress all embroidered with carmine and obsidian stones, dripping like blood.
Another slipped through her fingers, a summer dress in a fine, peachy pink, its sleeves made of organza embroidered with gold embellishments.
Another made you open your mouth until your jaw hit the floor. A long golden dress, with a loose neckline reaching down to just above her navel, while the bare back almost reached her sacrum.
"You wore that?" you almost choked out.
She smiled, raising her eyebrows. "Some of them wanted to uncover me more than cover me."
You laughed softly, opening the black trunk in your lap. The glitter of a black sequined dress was immediately reflected on your skin.
"These are all so beautiful..." you said almost absently, your hand running through the fabric.
The thought then occurred to you that you were going to wear something so expensive and beautiful tonight, but you felt almost unworthy to have any of these dresses on your skin. You were first in the Academy, of course. And you had worked hard to get there. But a masquerade that would surely be attended by all the most important people in Piltover was no mean feat.
"Now," Selene broke through your incessant internal doubts, clutching the first dress that came her way, "let's see how beautiful you look in them."
You smiled softly at her, shyly accepting the piece of art as she stepped out of the dressing room and gave you time to change.
You held the fabric close to you, the sequins reflecting off your hands as your eyes tried to visualise you wearing that same dress tonight. I must be perfect, you thought.
As you began undressing to put on the dress, a reflection caught your eye. Your attention was drawn to a dark patch peeking out from under an old pink dress.
Drawn in, intrigued, you gently pinched the shoulder of the dress to discover the one hidden beneath. A soft, violet fabric, approaching a dark blue, gleamed in the light from the ceiling, lines of small blue and black stones streaking it from top to bottom.
Purple, you thought, the conversation from the day you visited the museum coming back to mind.
You took the dress in your hands, rising up and letting it unfurl like a waterfall at night. The fabric seemed magical, shimmering like stars on water, glistening like the moon on snow. The neckline ran from around the neck in a V-shape to the centre of the valley of your breasts, a dark, almost black bodice hugging the waist while the skirt came down to the feet. The shoulders were covered, the sleeves parting loosely halfway down the arm until they met at gold bracelets around the wrist.
It was sublimely elegant, dark and mysterious, perfect for a masquerade. You carefully replaced the dress Selene had originally given you in the suitcase, and slipped it on. The fabric was soft against your skin, a slight reassuring weight on your shoulders as the bracelets closed around your wrists with ease. You felt neither too tight nor too loose – a perfect balance.
Maybe purple wasn't such a bad colour after all.
"So?" called Selene from outside.
You inhaled, hesitantly opening the dressing room door. Selene was at her vanity, looking in her drawers for the few palettes that might embellish your eyes. She looked away from her search, resting her eyes on you, and her gaze softened.
"Where did you get this one?" you asked, your finger pinching the skirt gently as you gazed at the stones glinting softly in the light.
She moved towards you, tender, as a thin smile stretched her lips, gazing wistfully at the dress on you.
"It was given to me..." her hand came to rest on one of your shoulders, sliding down your arm, "by a man I loved."
"You loved?" you repeated in wonder.
"Mhm," she hummed, her hand reaching for the gold bracelet, index and middle fingers together as if to trace its pulse. She seemed to come back to reality, regaining your eyes. "I'm glad you're wearing it."
She then turned her head to the mirror on her dressing table, taking your wrist gently and pulling it so that you came to sit in front of it. In your reflection, the dress looked stunning, highlighting your figure to perfection and lighting you up.
Selene then picked up a black circular mask, hanging over the mirror.
"Now," she brought the mask up to your face, placing it to make sure it would fit, "it's time for the world to figure out how to resist you."
Your heart was pounding as the music came closer to your ears and your heels echoed in the huge hallway you were walking through.
Selene had done your make-up after you'd showered, spending a good while on your eyes, since they and your lips would be the main attractions. She fixed your hair, gave you a few accessories and found a pair of heels in your size.
You made your way to the masquerade building without much trouble, the cool night air calming the heat in your cheeks. And now that you'd reached the big ballroom, your heart was starting to race in your chest.
What if you stumbled and made a fool of yourself? What if you said something wrong that didn't fit in with high society etiquette? What if you made a mistake?
You tried to breathe, to calm yourself down, to not assume that you were going to fail no matter what. You were the top of the Academy, after all, and defeat feared you. You thought about all the possibilities, and resigned yourself first of all to finding Jayce, who was probably just as lost and scared as you were.
You took one last breath, and turned into the chamber with your head held high.
The room had a high ceiling from which modern crystal chandeliers shone, illuminating the space where all sorts of silhouettes mingled. Some were standing by banqueting tables piled high with petits fours and amuse-bouches, while others were forming clusters of discussion groups, each carrying a champagne flute.
Do as they do, you thought, on the lookout for a waiter who might pass not far from you. With great luck, a charming butler came towards you as if a radar for people without champagne flutes had been grafted onto his eyes.
You took one, offering him a polite smile. As he prepared to leave, already looking for new people to please, you thought hesitantly to ask him if he'd seen Jayce Talis. But you stopped yourself, instead bringing the drink to your lips to prevent making a fool of yourself. You were in a masquerade, the very principle of which was the doubt and mystery of those with whom you were sharing a discussion.
Fortunately for you, however, you knew Jayce well enough to recognise him in a crowd. Had Viktor even arrived? You had no idea. Perhaps you were alone here, a shrimp trying to pretend to be a shark when an ocean of danger could bring a deadly current at any moment.
You looked around the room a little more closely. On either side, pillars of white marble rose up to a vaulted ceiling covered with superb frescoes. The floor was almost a mirror of it because of its intensive polishing, the black and white tiles creating intricate rosettes which you could no doubt start counting if the evening ever got too boring for your liking. At the far end of the room, three huge windows, almost embedded in the domed ceiling, let you discover the night and its mysteries. There was even a small band playing a steady stream of classical music, much to the delight of everyone it appeared.
The setting was magnificent, the scents of expensive foods and fragrances mingling almost to the point of suffocation. Everyone was wearing quite different colours, but the majority were still in Piltover's gold and white.
Finally your eyes found Jayce, dressed in the colours of his house. It's all about subtlety, you thought as you walked towards him. You hoped that by some miracle he would turn his head towards you and recognise you, so that you wouldn't have to worry about interrupting a conversation.
Alas, he did not. You walked towards them, a sentence ending as you arrived.
"I thought I'd never find you," you said, Jayce and his chatting companion both turning to face you.
Jayce looked confused for a moment, frowning and hoping he wasn't a complete idiot.
"Do I know y..." You feared the worst when a flash of genius crossed his eyes. "Oh it's you!"
Your shoulders relaxed as the stress subsided.
"I almost didn't recognise you," he admitted, apparently taken aback by your outfit. He turned for a moment to his conversation companion. "If you'll excuse us."
The latter nodded politely as you and Jayce walked away, along one of the buffet tables.
"This place is terrifying," you started, your eyes going around the room as you noticed a few glances being on you relentlessly.
Jayce shrugged, grabbing an appetiser that looked far too sophisticated for you and Sky to be lucky enough to find in the corner shop. "It's not as bad as I thought it would be," he said with his mouth full.
"That's because you're a social butterfly, Jayce," you remarked, your stare stretching across the room as a few eyes rested on you and smiled in what looked like an attempt at flirting from a distance for some. "You're the sunlight of this room."
He stopped chewing for a moment, looking at you with big eyes. "That's probably the nicest thing you ever said to me."
"It's not that complicated - all of them look like they were dipped in wax and can barely crack an actual smile."
"I take that back," he sighed, swallowing his bite.
You turned your attention back to the buffet, plates probably costing more than your salary, containing all sorts of arrangements mixing puff pastas and all sorts of garnishes.
You ventured to take one, exhaling a hum of relief as the taste was absolutely divine. Perhaps you'll be staying near the food this evening? The advantage with them at least was that you didn't risk having to talk yourself to sleep.
"So," you licked your fingers, "will you introduce us to your girlfriend?"
He sighed, his shoulders drooping. "Chances are she'll find you before I find her,” he mumbled, his eyes roaming the room in search of the aforementioned lady. "She's in her element here, but I think you'll recognise her once she comes to you."
You'd seen Mel Medarda before. Selene, who had a metaphorical place on the council, used to take you along from time to time when public meetings such as trials took place. You knew each of the councillors, like most of the people in Piltover, and would no doubt recognise them if the occasion arose.
Mel Medarda, sumptuous woman that she was, had left her mark on you in her beauty, her eloquence and her generosity. You hoped to honour your memory and her greatness by recognising her this evening.
"Is Viktor here with you?" you asked, curiosity winning out over silence.
"Yes," he smiled, raising his eyebrows, "I think he managed to temporarily escape to the toilets."
You brought your champagne flute to your lips. "Smart man."
From across the room, a guest raised her flute to Jayce.
"Duty calls," Jayce confirmed as he rubbed his hand off of any crust before placing his hand on your shoulder, "don't sweat it in here, just... mingle."
And with that, he left, leaving you at the mercy of a world you despised.
You looked at the dishes, taking a second one in your hand so as not to stand there like another statue in the background. You took a few steps out of sight, trying to savour what little quiet and time you had on your own before anyone requested your attention.
"That is quite an unfamiliar silhouette that I meet."
You turned, your eyes landing on a young woman covered in a dress combining saturnine white, black and gold.
Mel Medarda.
In her long dress with a skirt slit up her thighs, she looked like an elegant bottle of poison, an addictive elixir that gave you the serenity and comfort of knowing you were in control and that you had someone to talk to if any worries arose.
She had a mouth shaped like a chameleon, ready to take any shape or colour that might interest or uninterest her auditor. Her dark lips quirked into a smile as her eyes crinkled, all covered in gold and dark glitter. There was power in her grin as she moved forward, murmuring I've got lies so handsome you'll never want to believe the Truth, and that would make her jealous. I've got excuses so beautiful you'll want me to betray you to listen to them, so powerful you'll forgive me anything.
She was the fiercest shark in the pond, and she was coming towards you.
"Councillor," you raised your flute in introduction, trying to gain the same calm and consistency of diplomatic discussions, "I don't think we ever officially met before."
She sighed as she came up to you, shaking her head. "Let us drop the formalities – you're not going in for a discussion joust with me."
You looked startled, Mel dropping her shoulders.
“I know you're a friend of Jayce and Viktor, you're not a part of any of..." she described a graceful circle in the air with her flute, "them."
You relaxed a little. ‘Thank the Hells, I thought I'd have to behave myself and have conversations about a multi-polarised conflict of international importance, or anything of the sort."
She smiled at you, all charming. She was young, if not the same age as you. So how did she go about her day-to-day life, pushing herself to act like an adult whose shoulders bore the weight of big, heavy decisions?
"To simplicity," she toasted.
You raised your flute to hers before taking a sip. Its contents were beginning to dwindle already.
"How did you and Jayce meet?" she asked after her own swig.
"Two years ago, when I first started at the Academy, I was transferred to his class after three months."
"Really? For what reason?" she inquired.
You shrugged. "I'd made enough progress on my year's programme that they were considering moving me to another class. Skipped two classes in my life," you smiled.
"I'm beginning to understand why you're in first place in the rankings," she nodded, arching an eyebrow.
"Determination can take you a long way," you confirmed. "Jayce passed me the notes of the classes he'd taken since the beginning of the year, and wire by wire the title of classmate blurred into friend."
You thought back for a moment to the afternoons you'd spent poring over Jayce's notes, the question marks he'd drawn over and over again on his papers that you'd ended up completing for him. And when the weekends came and he came to see you at the café, he'd always wait until you had your break to talk about anything and everything with you.
“How about you?” you asked in return. “Haven't had many times this year to sit down and talk with him about his life, but I do want to know about you.”
“What don't you know?” she smiled. “The advantage of advisors is that a lot of their lives are biographed and catalogued.”
“Lucky then that I get to talk to a human being and not a pile of dead leaves,” you remarked.
She nodded gently before tilting her head to one side in consideration.
“I met Jayce after his trial. We had a long discussion and reconsidered his sentence after sharing it with the council. Since then, I've helped finance some of his projects, and the line between the professional and the romantic has blurred.”
“You're sure he's a good boyfriend, aren't you?” you inquired, ”if I find out he's not buying you a bouquet of flowers every week I may well have to perform an urgent intervention to educate him on the subject.”
She laughed softly, amused by your enthusiasm for making sure he was beyond reproach.
“No lesson needed, I assure you,” she confirmed, turning to the rest of the room and making a very subtle gesture with her hand for a butler to come and serve you both again. “How are you enjoying the night so far?”
“Well,” you sighed, ”I haven't made myself any new enemies so that's a good sign. You?”
“I think that if I hear another conversation about a love affair with a 62-year-old priest or a thesis on predictive models of pluripotent stem cell susceptibility, one of these drinks will end up poisoned by the end of the evening,” the butler reached you and poured you a refill, Mel smiling at him. “Thank you.”
She turned back to you.
“You are my breath of fresh air of the evening.” Her eyes drifted over your form for a moment, intrigued. “That's quite a lovely dress, by the way - I haven't seen such garments around here. Where did you find it?” she inquired as she pinched the fabric of one of your sleeves between her long fingers.
“Oh, my mother gave it to me,” you replied, pleasantly surprised that you could talk so calmly and simply without any pressure. “You probably know of Selene?”
Her eyes returned to yours. “Selene? Selene Phathe?”
You nodded, her lip stretching to the side.
“I wasn't aware she had a daughter.” she remarked.
“She has many children,” you smiled. “I'm her legal daughter.”
Selene had always had something very maternal, but had inherited the bitterness of infertility. Any child or young person she came across and helped became a bit like her spiritual children, and you knew your siblings were in good hands.
“I see,” Mel said, offering an understanding smile. “I ask her from time to time for readings and such. Everything she's shared with me has turned out to be true. I was quite skeptical about being carried away by such a science, but she managed to convince me of her certainty.”
“Started reading Tarot myself after a few years of getting readings, it's... startling how accurate they are.”
“Truly?” She pressed her shoulder against yours, “you'll have to come visit me to give me a reading someday.” She smiled. “And inform me of any of Jayce's mischief if he ever does any, I'll be sure to correct him on that matter.”
You raised your then-full flute, all smiles. “I'll drink to that.”
She returned the smile, taking a sip before her eyes found those of another guest in the room and she sighed.
“If you'll excuse me, I think I have another boring conversation to attend to.”
“Good luck - you have my support from afar,” you encouraged her as she gracefully made her way to the designated person.
Your eyes then roamed the room again, observing the few outfits the guests were wearing and all the high heels worn by the women who must have been killing their feet... But your eyes found the end of a cane, a cane you knew all too well and which almost appeared in your horizon like a real lifeline in this troubled sea.
You moved forward, your eyes still lowered on the end of the cane as someone blocked your field of vision and you bumped them.
“I'm sorry,” you uttered immediately, checking to make sure your champagne hadn't spilled as your eyes darted back to the masked ones of-
Tyler?
The fool's blond curls had been partially combed back with gel, his scarlet mask matched by a suit in Councilman Hoskel's colors: Black, Red and Gold.
He frowned, his eyes watching you completely before he realized where he knew that voice from.
“You?” he pronounced with as much disgust, shock and surprise mingling in his voice.
“Equally pleased, Tyler,” you grumbled, moving to extricate yourself from the situation when he grabbed your arm.
Your eyes immediately landed on where his hand was, moving slowly until they found his. How dare he even touch that fabric?
“What are you doing here?” he questioned, still not letting go of your arm.
“Got the invite for the biggest bastard competition, but it's just my luck that you got here. Now I can't win it, so if you'll excuse me-” you tugged again but Tyler kept his grip firm.
“How the hell did you get in there, huh?”
“Through the door, like everyone else. Can you let me go?”
“Where did you get such an empyreal dress?”
“Oh, you learned a new word.”
“It's Talis, isn't it?” He chuckled, finding the situation pitiful. “Thought he could just let you in like this?”
“Did your mother throw the baby away to raise the placenta? I was invited by merit, unlike you,” you almost spat at him. “Now let go of me.”
“Say please, and I'll consider it.”
“Tyler, I'm going to make you soluble so I can dilute you in my piss and dispense you into every flute in this room,” you threatened. “Let go of me.”
He nodded. “That's not how please is pronounced.”
“Her? Saying please, to you?”
You both turned toward the voice that had just spoken to you, the accent now inscribed in your ears.
Viktor.
Your breath seemed to almost supernaturally halt as your eyes fell on him. A purple, almost black velvet coat sat on his shoulders, the collar of his pierced shirt from which golden chain ornaments dangled, reached down to his vest, which elegantly outlined his waist. His black pants, flowing harmoniously down to his ankles, led to perfectly polished black shoes.
As your gaze returned to his face, your eyes locked on his, whose eyelids, beneath his mask of purple velvet and gold, were covered with a layer of kohl. His amber eyes possessed something mystical, mysterious and powerful.
“You too?" huffed Tyler. "It's an epidemic.”
“Tyler, I believe the Miss asked you politely to leave her alone. I suppose you wouldn't want any rumors to get out about the Hoskel heir and some of his violent behaviours,” Viktor remarked.
Tyler's eyes darted around the room, most of the masked faces turned towards him while many murmured unintelligible things as they watched the scene. His gaze reached yours again, one corner of his lips rising in annoyance as he finally let go of your arm.
“What's vermin like you doing here?” he asked, teeth clenched.
“We've been officially invited,” Viktor marked. “The efforts of the two top-ranking Academy students that we are have therefore been given the opportunity of such an evening to solidify diplomatic ties, with the hope later of obtaining alliances useful to our projects for the common good.”
You had no idea how quickly Viktor had combined all these justifications to give him an air of credibility. The possibility then occurred to you that Jayce and Viktor, before they came here, had probably rehearsed many times what they had to say in case fools like Tyler found themselves playing the curious.
“The standards have obviously gone down,” Tyler chuckled.
“Tell me about it,” you replied, looking at him almost apologetically, as if just seeing him made you feel sorry for him, so worn out was the little that served as his brain.
“Dearest Nephew!” Bombarded a voice.
Councillor Hoskel himself, then accompanied by what you recognized as Councillor Salo, strode towards your merry little group.
“It seems you have never mentioned such a beauty to be part of your acquaintances.”
The latter's eyes roamed over your figure as his tongue ran over his teeth. The figure was repulsive, one of his ridiculously thin arms against the enormity of his round beer belly nudging Tyler to make the introductions.
“Um,” he suddenly seemed to have lost his good-for-nothing tongue.
“Revealing our identity at a masquerade would defy the very principle of it,” Viktor sighed, exchanging a glance with you.
You had to play along, take on the etiquette of the discussion for an evening. “Exactly,” you declared with a tense smile that you offered to the trio of troublemakers.
“Is this your date?” Hoskel pointed, his slender finger unwinding from his flute to point at Viktor.
“Pardon?” you questioned, close to choking on your own spit.
“For tonight, is this young man your date?” he corrected. “Unless fate has miraculously brought you together with stylists,” he remarked with a greasy laugh.
Exchanging glances with Viktor and your two outfits, it was almost impossible not to notice the fact that, subconsciously, you'd been matching. Anyone seeing you side by side like that might have wondered about it, and the thought brought what you presumed was shame to your cheeks.
“Oh, no,” you laughed nervously. “Sorry, I did not understand.”
He shrugged and nodded arrogantly. “It's normal, pretty and intelligent is rare.”
You suppressed the urge to throw the contents of your flute in his face, given that he himself seemed not to be on his first one for a while now, and decided instead to play in his own court. “Yes, when ugly and stupid is quite common.”
Tyler's gaze narrowed as much as his uncle's and Councillor Salo's as Viktor lowered his head, a small smile spreading across his lips as he glanced at you from the side.
“Funny,” Hoskel struck a slight pose as he watched you, ”how being behind a mask gives you wings.”
You raised your chin, squinting your eyes as if looking down on him. “Funny how multiplying champagne flutes does so as well, only...” your eyes drifted to his red nose then his belly full of booze, ”one remains hidden better than the other.”
Hoskel seemed to chew air, grinding his teeth together as he grunted dully.
“My my,” Salo tilted his head down as his eyes remained on you, straightening, ”that's a sharp little one we have here with us tonight.” He cleared his throat, raising his gloved hand to point at the sky as if preparing to lecture. “Take care not to make a woman cry because gods count her tears. Whereas when a woman's up to something, the devil sits at his desk and takes notes.”
“A citation?” remarked Viktor, destitute as he was of a champagne flute while his free hand let only his thumb protrude from his pants pocket.
“From one of my books,” said Salo, proudly, resting his hand on his chest.
Viktor didn't seem any more enchanted than that to be taking part in the discussion, but no doubt had to try to find some fictional interest in all that was being told. “Do you write?”
Salo took a sip of his champagne, swallowing it quickly enough to respond with airy hand movements. “The Gods kindly offer me the first verse. What is difficult is to write the next ones which will be worthy of their supernatural brothers."
You brought your flute close to your lips. “Yes, otherwise who'd write the scripts for beggars,” you mumbled, before taking only one more sip.
Viktor huffed. Salo frowned, not seeming to have distinctly heard your words. “I beg your pardon?”
You swallowed, pressing your lips together to collect the rest of the contents of your sip. “Yes?”
“I don't think I quite heard what you said a moment ago.”
You thought you wouldn't be heard, your eyes shifting from Salo to Viktor for a moment before returning to the counselor and closing your eyes, a nervous smile spreading across your lips as you tried again to be diplomatic.
So you tried a graceful exit, shaking your head. “I think the champagne bubbles must have started their little rise, I'm thinking of getting some air to release them.” Just before leaving, you repeated the formula you'd heard so many times this evening. “If you'll excuse me.”
You looked at them one last time, lingering a moment longer on Viktor's gaze as you left for one of the balconies.
The night air bit into your cheeks like apples, the winter coolness slapping you in sharp contrast to the warmth inside. The cool air filled your lungs and you thought for a moment you'd end up frozen from the inside out. There was no wind, just the muted calm of the cold and the murmur of the city below.
You stepped forward, placing your glass on the edge of the balcony. You didn't care if it fell, if it flew away, if a pigeon shat in it. The mere fact that the crystal of this flute had touched the lips of so many people who had destroyed so much hope for your own made you want to grab it by its stem yourself and send it waltzing off to the stars.
You brought your hands to your arms, as much to prevent yourself from needlessly accessing this hatred as to gain warmth. Your eyes watched the horizon, the lights of Piltover in every window. How many knew what their consumption was bringing from the other end of the river? Your gaze drifted towards the latter, the lights much dimmer as they gleamed from the very bowels of the city. You thought back to Eris's letter for a moment, but what did she want to talk to you about?
Your hips touched the guardrail, your fingers running over Tyler's previous grip as if to dust off any DNA that had settled there. It was a good thing Viktor had arrived, or Tyler's nose would surely have had a few stitches.
A warmth rose in the back of your neck, familiar from Viktor's breath when he'd saved you from a nasty fall in the library. He'd gone ahead and helped you. There seemed to be this mutual recognition, this acceptance that, whatever happened, you were there to take the lead from each other.
Your hand instinctively went to the back of your neck, trying to banish this feeling, or to recover it on your fingers in the hope of getting a little warm comfort. Was this a reaction to the trauma of his presence? Surely it could be, unless shame had crept under your skin and lingered there.
You drew your fingers up slightly until you found the string of your mask, undoing it and letting the fresh air spread over your face.
The distinct tinkle of a cane snapped you out of your thoughts, and you didn't even need to turn around to know who it was.
“You've left me in the lurch of a thorny conversation.” he said, his voice warm in the night air as he approached you, staying a reasonable distance to your left.
You sketched a smile, not yet turning towards him as you watched a fictitious dot in the distance. “What were they discussing?”
You felt him remove his mask, dropping the loop of black ribbon holding it to dangle from the handle of his cane. “I left as soon as they'd mentioned the matter of therapeutic obstinacy.”
“A discussion like that should have had you hanging on to their every word,” you joked, finally turning your head towards him.
The prince of the night offered you his profile, his darkened eyes watching the horizon in the distance. He had a presence that froze you, a power so strong that it held you in place. You felt worthy of being the rival of a man like him. But were you still assuming this title?
“I think I'll let Tyler take it from here,” he smiled softly, turning to you.
His amber eyes planted themselves in yours, and you only managed to support it for a few seconds before your eyes drifted to his shoulders.
“You...” you breathed in, observing his elegant, sophisticated outfit, ”you look nice.”
He parted his lips, tilting his head slightly to one side as he squinted with a slight smile.
“Was that a compliment, miss?” he questioned.
“Don't get used to it,” you sighed, rolling your eyes, then reaching for your champagne flute, ”this is a special occasion after all.”
You brought your drink to your lips, the sensation of champagne making you feel a little freer, a little lighter and able to loosen your tongue to say or accept things you'd normally refuse.
You could feel his gaze on you in your peripheral vision, skirting the length of your body, your back illuminated by the interior of the room while the rest of your dress looked like a piece cut straight from the night that embraced you.
“That colour,” he began, his gaze drifting back to the horizon, ”it suits you.”
You thought back to what he'd said what seemed like an eternity ago. ‘It's beautiful, it's calm, in lavender as well as plum, in cassis as well as grape, in wisteria as well as... whatever, it's the one I prefer.’
It's the one I prefer.
You tried not to dwell on that thought, to move on.
“Who'd have thought Tyler would come all this way to bother us?” you huffed.
Viktor chuckled lightly. “He can't get enough of us.”
“I've rarely seen anyone scrape so deep into the depths of incompetence.”
“I believe you've met his uncle, though,” Viktor remarked. “And he, so far, holds a place on the Piltover council.”
“I guess it runs in the family to fall victim to one's own mediocrity.”
“And you had the gift of reminding them of it.”
You smiled, regaining his gaze for a moment. “Don't tell me you didn't want to either.”
He shrugged, pretending to think about it. “Yes, although I must applaud the success of your execution.”
“Would that be a compliment, Moravec?” you stressed.
He earned your gaze, eyes crinkled with a slight sneer. “Like you said - this is a special occasion after all.”
You nodded, shaking your head as if it were a song you'd heard too many times already.
A moment of silence passed, a slight quiver taking hold of you as the hour advanced and the air grew fresher and fresher.
“I've been thinking about the clauses for our truce.”
You turned towards him, arms again crossed as if to hold any ounce of warmth close to your body.
You smirked, grabbing your flute as if to help you listen to him and make those decisions.
“I'm listening.”
“Firstly,” he began, ”we shan't have any rivalry that doesn't engender some obsession pushing us into critical health situations.”
You rolled your eyes. “That was a one-time thing-”
“That is my first clause,” he cut in, his kohl-rimmed eyes insisting on the fact. “Second, mutual aid. If one of us experiences a difficulty somewhere, they must share it with the other, no matter how big their ego and pride.”
“Well that's going to be easy,” you sighed, pressing the crown of your flute close to your lower lip.
“Thirdly,” Viktor straightened up, tilting his head slightly forward as if in a short bow, ”let's be friends.”
You pressed your lips together, considering the offer truly.
Was there even a downside to becoming friends with Viktor? Besides the fact that you had to question your animosity towards him since the beginning of the year, what were the pros and cons?
Sure, he could get on your nerves in discussions, but it had been ages since you'd tried your hand at verbal jousting so constantly, and you were beginning to get used to it.
But apart from that, he wasn't a threat, he was inclined towards progress and advancement rather than stagnation and stubbornness, and he'd already considered you friends for a while, if you went back to Agrane's attribution of detention where he'd wished to come to your defense.
Besides, he was from Zaun - few students here could say as much and understand you on certain points.
“Agreed,” you replied, and his shoulders relaxed slightly. “But be careful, don't expect me to hop like a flower around you.” You huffed. “Jayce has already had to chase me around for quite a while before I'd officially consider him a friend.”
He shrugged, pressing his lips together slightly as if indifferent.
“That's fine by me. Fourthly,” he continued, ”clauses can be added in the future. Of course, they won't be imposed and can be discussed.”
You arch an eyebrow, huffing. “Do you have many more clauses?
“Do you agree to this one?” he asked, frowning.
You looked at him for a moment. This seemed to be very close to his heart. “Yes.”
“Good.” he smiled.
“Is that all?”
His eyes trailed over your shoulders for a moment. “Just one last one.”
He set his cane down against the marble railing, unclipping one of the pins that held the chain holding his coat to his back. He pinched the shoulders of it, taking a single step towards you to place it on yours, pressing his hands lightly on them as you felt the warmth his back had spread over the fabric against your own. He took care, with his long, slender, cool fingers, to reattach the chain neatly.
“My last clause for tonight is for you not to get cold,” he said, his voice more tender as he took a step back as if to observe the vision you were. “Luckily, we wore the same color.”
You took one of the sides in your hands, bringing it close to you to cover yourself with it.
“Won't you get cold?” you asked.
He shrugged, regaining the grip of his cane as his eyes remained on your coat-covered figure. “If you think Jayce won't get rid of his coat at some point this evening, you're wrong.”
You crack a smile, wondering what would happen if Jayce overindulged in champagne and Viktor had to go home with him tonight. Unless, of course, Jayce and Mel ended the evening together. He slipped on his mask again, replacing it gracefully over his features.
Viktor was getting ready to go back inside, and you didn't know if the magic of champagne bubbles was making you say things, or if out of sheer urge you were calling him.
“Viktor?”
He turned to you for a moment, one part of his face bathed in the warm light of the interior while the other remained in the night like a crescent moon.
You parted your lips, the simple two words coming pouring out without doubt or regret.
“Thank you.”
He seemed amazed, even with his mask over his face. But the astonishment quickly gave way to a softening, until his lips stretched into a smile and he stepped back inside.
Some people won't get any magic words out of you, but Viktor was worthy of them. You brought the collar of his coat close to you. His scent was sweeter than you'd expected, that of sun-warmed stone mingling with a lingering coffee fragrance.
Your eyes returned to the city, the vision of his kingdom, of streets he would split with his cane to hit the color purple on their cream walls.
It's the one I prefer.
The evening had come to an end. You had tried to fit into some of the conversation circles that came and went as time went by, remaining mostly silent and listening without interjecting, laughing when they laughed, nodding when they nodded, and trying not to simply stuff yourself with petits fours.
You'd thought of finding a way to take a handful with you so you'd have a little variety to bring back to give Sky a taste of how the evening was going. But you expected that, of course, you'd be looked at strangely for this behavior if you went through with it.
Some of the guests began to leave one by one, and you took the opportunity to do the same. Jayce, Mel and Viktor seemed nowhere to be found, so you dropped the idea of venturing into such a building in search of them. Who knows what you might stumble upon in the surrounding rooms? You didn't want to accidentally walk in on the feverish one-night stands of the guests, so you just took off.
The city had been asleep for some time, and the quiet yet illuminated streets were deserted. Had it been Zaun, venturing out at such an hour of the night in such an outfit would have been worth a lot of trouble. But Piltover had real rules of respect and a very different general upbringing, so you didn't feel in any danger of advancing like that.
Your heels were starting to hurt seriously and you would have given anything to be carried home. But there was no vigilante Jayce in sight to catch you if you fainted, nor any gentleman gallant enough to carry you like a princess.
How nice it was to be looked after, to have someone take care of you simply because they could.
The memory of Viktor dozing beside you as you recovered came to mind a moment before you chased him away as you turned a corner. Viktor's scent had permeated your nostrils all evening, and it was the only familiar, reassuring thing that kept you going.
The vision of the dormitories appearing in your line of sight was the greatest relief of all.
You passed silently through the doors of the building, taking the opportunity to remove your heels and sighing at ease as the soles of your feet finally settled on a surface that didn't need to be arched.
You slowly climbed the stairs, the soft feel of the red carpet almost tickling your feet as you inserted your key into the lock. It was late, perhaps Sky had not stayed awake and had gone to bed, and you had no wish to disturb her peace.
You turned the knob, entering the still-lit apartment, Sky lying on her bed with a book. Her eyes turned to you, her mouth opening wide as she looked at your outfit, which she hadn't had a chance to see. You smiled, closing the door behind you and dropping your heels to the floor.
“Girl,” she'd chuckled, watching you as you took off the coat and folded it neatly to let it hang over your arm like a waiter's towel, ”give me a twirl.”
You performed, spinning around before finishing with an exaggerated supermodel pause that made Sky laugh.
She snapped her book shut and sat cross-legged on her bed. “I need every detail you can give me.”
You picked up a hanger in the dressing room, hanging Viktor's coat which you hoped to return in the next few days before returning to Sky and sitting down with her to tell her all about it.
She had you turning your back to her, helping you remove the few decorations in your hair as you described everything to her. The hall, the dresses, the atmosphere, all the endless discussions, your meeting with the famous Mel Medarda, your altercation with Tyler and his idiot uncle.
“In any case, you didn't miss a thing. Apart from a few exceptions, the room was filled with the heads of bankers who hadn't gotten laid for twenty years.”
She laughed softly, pausing in the unraveling of your hair, her eyes watching a point in the void.
“Doesn't it make you dream a bit?”
You turned to her, confused. “To be a banker who looks like she hasn't gotten laid in twenty years?”
“No,” she chirped, giving you a little nudge on the shoulder, ”the mystery of the masquerade, the richness of being able to organize such an event without having to worry about much?”
You rested your head on her shoulder, pondering her question for a moment. Finally, you raised your head, staring into space.
“I think I would rather spend my life close to the birds than waste my time thinking I can carve myself wings.”
Sky sighed, probably dreaming of the golden life of the princes and princesses the world inhabited and longing for more. You didn't envy them - you felt scorn for their privileges and their inability to act for change. But you had no intention of crushing your friend's hopes.
“Who knows, maybe one day you'll be one of them and laugh as you drink champagne with infinite bubbles.”
She smiled softly, wrapping an arm around you.
You didn't tell her about your discussion on the balcony with Viktor, preferring to keep your exchange a secret for the time being. perhaps you'd bring up the subject when she asked you where the dress and coat came from.
But for now, you kept the secret of the purple close to you.
It's the one I prefer.

Sorry OP I had thoughts.
Argos wasn't there when he awoke in a cold, blind, panic, which maybe should have been his first clue. Argos always woke him up on time.
He fumbled through throwing on clothes, hiding a dagger in the back of his belt and fastening his sword belt. He ran, feet light but fast, slipping down unused halls and unclean rooms, blood still not fully cleaned from stone. He hadn’t bothered with sandals – even among the laughter and chatter that ran late into the night, leather on stone would be far too loud.
His mother’s door was at the end of the hall, right where it always had been, roots peeking around the masonry from the olive tree that her bed was carved of. The same olive wood made up the door that Telemachus paced in front of, sword held tightly in hand, dagger free to be grabbed at any moment.
The laughter grew louder, and he swore he heard footsteps coming closer. He didn’t remember the floor looking this dark, not the light grey it always had been, but it was, and there was something he was missing-
The olive door flew open, a man stepped out, and Telemachus panicked. He had failed.
“GET AWAY FROM MY MOTHER!” He screamed, sword raising. The man stepped back, surprised, then stepped forward, and Telemachus was slow, too slow, always too slow and too weak–
The sword clattered down the hall, Athena knew where. Telemachus was panting on the ground, one arm gripped strongly above him, a bearded face looking down at him.
A face he’d seen every day in the tapestry.
He sobbed, realizing what he had almost done as Odysseus picked him up, cradling him softly. If he was speaking, Telemachus couldn’t hear it over the sound of his own heart and breath, pounding in his ears and forcing him to hear.
There was softness and warmth around him, then, a soft scent of sea foam and flowers that he would recognize anywhere, and he curled into his mother, Odysseus a hard warmth against his back.
Telemachus fell asleep, safe and warm, suitors’ blood on the floor and a half-woven shroud in the corner, both parents holding him tight.
I wonder if even after Odysseus returns, Telemachus still wakes up in a cold sweat some nights and goes to pace in front of his mother’s door. There’s light and loud talking and laughing and Telemachus grips his sword tightly, tense as he knows he can’t let anyone near.
The door opens and Telemachus jolts, turning to see a man standing in the doorway behind him. He lunges forward, but the man grabs his wrist and shoulder, disarming him and bringing him to the ground. He closes his eyes, bracing himself and feeling a burn in his throat. He failed. He can’t protect her. He-
Suddenly there are gentle hands on his face. A soothing voice replacing the cacophony that the prince realizes had never existed. He looks into his father’s eyes with shame, blinking back tears as the king gently takes him into his arms. Odysseus promises his son that he’s safe, brings him back to rest beside him and Penelope, and lets him have just a few hours of peace before it happens again.
Just thoughts.

Morning menance — Lee Heeseung
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 PAIRING: heeseung x sleepy!reader, GENRE: fluff, kinda crack? WC: 0.7k….! SNY— reader being needy and a brat because I love acting like the world revolves around me sorry!
Tumblr media
The room was dimly lit by the soft glow of the nightlight on the bedside table. You stirred in your sleep, the warmth of the blanket and your hoodie suddenly becoming unbearable. With a groggy groan, you tugged at the fabric, pulling the hoodie off and tossing it to the side. Left in your tank top and sleep shorts, you sighed in relief, curling back up and nuzzling into the pillow.
Heeseung stirred beside you, his arm instinctively wrapping around your waist. Even half-asleep, he pulled you close, mumbling something incoherent under his breath before settling back into his slumber.
A few hours later, at the crack of 7 a.m., you blinked awake again. The soft morning light seeped through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. It was way too early for you, but something had woken you up—perhaps a lingering restlessness. You rubbed at your eyes, letting out a small whine, still half-asleep but already feeling the beginnings of your morning fussiness.
Heeseung was still dozing beside you, his face peaceful, but you weren’t in the mood to let him sleep. Turning to him, you gently nudged his shoulder. “Hee,” you mumbled, your voice soft and needy. “Hee…”
He groaned faintly, his brows furrowing as he opened one eye to look at you. “Baby, what’s wrong?” His voice was raspy with sleep, but his hand instinctively reached out to stroke your hair.
“I’m awake,” you murmured, pouting. “I want my phone…”
Heeseung let out a small chuckle, still groggy but finding your early-morning whines adorable. “It’s too early, baby. You should go back to sleep.”
“But I’m awake!” you argued, though it was clear from the way you were blinking lazily that you were still exhausted. “I just wanna check the time… and maybe Heeseung notifications.”
He smirked at the mention of his name. “Oh, so you wake up early just to stalk me, huh?”
You huffed, your pout deepening. “Noooo, Hee. I just wanna see. Please?”
With a dramatic sigh, he reached over to the nightstand and grabbed your phone, handing it to you. “Okay, but only for a minute. Check the time and my notifications, then back to sleep, my little stalker.”
You took the phone eagerly, scrolling for a few seconds before Heeseung leaned over and plucked it right out of your hands again. “That’s enough,” he said firmly, placing the phone back on the table. “You’ll get carried away, and I’m not letting you stay up.”
“But—” you started, your voice trailing off into a whine.
“No buts,” he interrupted, lying back down and pulling you with him. “Come here, baby. You’re too fussy this morning.”
You pouted against his chest, squirming slightly. “I don’t wanna sleep anymore,” you grumbled. “I’m not even tired.”
Heeseung chuckled softly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Not tired, huh? Then why are you yawning?” he teased, cradling your head gently.
You let out a small, defeated whimper, nuzzling into his chest as his warmth started to lull you. “I just… nothing..” you attempting to admit that you just wanted him close, your voice muffled against his shirt.
Heeseung’s heart softened instantly. “Oh, my baby,” he cooed, his hand rubbing slow, soothing circles on your back. “You just wanted attention? You could’ve told me. You know I’d give you all of it.”
You sighed, your body relaxing into his as your eyelids grew heavier. Heeseung rocked you gently, his voice low and comforting as he whispered, “Shhh, it’s okay now. You’ve got me. You’re my baby, and I’m not going anywhere. Just close those pretty eyes and sleep a little more. I’ll be right here.”
Your fussiness began to fade as his words and gentle touch soothed you completely. Within minutes, your breathing evened out, and you drifted back to sleep in his arms, feeling safe and loved.
Heeseung stayed awake for a while longer, watching over you with a soft smile. He pressed another kiss to your forehead before whispering, “Sleep well, my favourite attention-seeker. You’ll always have me.”

new years day, charles leclerc
summary : you and charles have been friendly from a distance but recently you have been yearning for him, at a new years eve party you find that your feelings are not unrequited. warnings : suggestive content, language, use of an original character. a/n : i feel like all i do is write smau's so here is a written fic for once 😭💗
Tumblr media
charles looked good, almost too good. his shoulders were clad with a ferrari customized suit jacket, a black and blue tie hung around his neck yet his hair was the most jaw dropping part. his curls hung loose and carelessly fell as though he had simply just woken up. and whenever he spoke you caught a glimpse of his dimples. it could truly make anybody melt.
"you know he ended things with that charlotte girl" your friend kristy whispers which pulls you from your trance.
you look at her and roll your eyes. "and what do u expect me to do with that information?". you take a swig of your martini before then taking the olive and swirling it around in the liquid.
kristy takes a sip of her own beverage and chuckles at your reply. "you know damn well what you should do y/n". kristy runs a hand through her blonde hair and then drifts her gaze over to charles.
charles was now deep in conversation with carlos about god knows what but you couldn't pull your eyes away from him.
at that moment charles turned to find you looking right at him. charles's breath hitched when he met eye contact with you. to him, it seemed that everyday you got more beautiful and honestly he didn't know how much longer he would be able to control himself. the black dress that you were wearing really accented your curves and he could sense the confidence of you radiating.
charles smiles at you and nods whilst doing so. immediately a rush of warmth rushes to your cheeks and u flash him a small smile before turning away and tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
kristy, having watched this interaction full on looks at you with her mouth hanging open. "girl he wants you baddd, i swear to god if you don't do something abour this tonight i might go insane".
you can't deny her words. maybe tonight could be the night that you reveal your feelings for him. "but i'm scared" you mumble and kristy nods at you sympathetically knowing your dating history. you had been dumped plenty of times and rejection was the usual for you.
"i know you are but y/n you have to do this because otherwise he really will just settle down with some other girl and you'll never get over it".
sure charles had been with many girls but he had always assured you that they were just casual relationships. truthfully that didn't make you feel any better.
"yeah you're right" you admit, finally coming to the realization that you have to make a move. you had seen the way other women had looked at him, and you resonated with them.
"i'm just going to go to the bathroom real quick can u mind my purse for me". kristy nods and shoos you off to the bathroom.
you walk off elegantly in fear that you would trip because wearing heels wasn't the usual but whenever you were in the presence of charles it was a must. he noticed you more and you craved his attention more than anything.
as kristy watches you walk in the direction of the bathroom a genuis idea creeped into her conscience. it was for your own good.
picking up your purse kristy picks up your purse and heads firmly over to charles. tapping him on the shoulder pulls him midst conversation.
before charles can speak kristy interjects. "can u give y/n her purse i gotta go" kristy points in the far off distance.
charles opens his mouth but he is interrupted once again. "aw thank you so much charles you are amazing, she's in the bathroom", kristy places a kiss on his cheek and walks off bristly.
kristy looks back and upon spotting charles walking towards you, she smiles knowing how this will end. and even so what harm does a little meddling do?
༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
taking a deep breath you look at yourself in the mirror, whilst running your hands under the warm water. the girl that you are greeted with in the reflection is clearly relunctant to go back to the party. kristy had dragged you along in the first place, social gatherings weren't really your scene but kristy always stook by your side and made it bearable.
"not much longer y/n and then u can go home" u whisper to yourself as an affirmation, looking at yourself in the looking glass one last time. you sigh and reluctantly exit the bathroom.
suddenly someone walks straight into causing you to stumble backwards but you are caught when you feel an arm fall into place on your lower back.
typically it's charles. "i'm so so sorry are you okay y/n i wasn't looking" he insists looking at you up and down making sure that he hadn't hurt you.
you clear your throat and steady yourself. "yeah no no i'm fine don't worry about it" you insist as you are more so thanking fate for letting this scenario play out.
you look at him and see that he is a holding a purse, your heart sinks for a moment but then you notice it's yours.
he follows your gaze. "oh yeah kristy wanted me to give this to you" charles suddenly remembers his primary task but it was hard for his brain to function when he was alone with you.
charles hands you your purse and for a moment time freezes as his fingers latch onto yours. you both lock your eyes on one another, both not daring enough to utter a single word.
the moment ends and your purse is returned to you and now you are left red faced and with a racing heart. charles sticks his hands into his trouser pockets and bites his lip nervously.
"so um how are you.....i um heard you and charlotte ended things".
charles nods and looks down at his feet. "oh yeah that was never going to work out".
you stare at him confused because he had seemed happy with her, happier than you had seen him with most girls.
"how come, you seemed so happy" you furrow your eyebrows as you speak.
charles looks back up at you and sweeps his tongue across the inside of his cheek. "she um thinks that i'm in love with someone else". this wasn't a lie, truth be told charlottle had seen the way that charles's eyes lingered too long and how his attention was grabbed everytime you spoke. she knew he would never feel the same way about her.
your eyes widen at this. had charles been cheating on charlottle?
"and are you?" you push the question wanting more information. even if the truth would hurt you wanted to know.
"well it's hard to love someone when you don't know if they feel the same".
"have you told her?"
"no um no i haven't".
"why not?"
"too hard" charles says bluntly.
"how come?"
"she means alot to me and i truly would never want to hurt her". charles looks at you innocently like those words mean nothing to you when infact they mean everything. because he is talking about you.
at this precise moment the countdown for the new year had just begun. you turn to charles but don't have the courage to muster what you want to say.
"um i think we should go and um-"
charles grabs your wrist. "stay, please".
you look down at his hand and back up at him, his eyes pleading for you to stick with him. how could resist that look.

as the bell rings for the new year you hear countless people cheering and popping champagne bottles.
but before you can even register your surroundings charles pulls you closer to him, decreasing the small gap that had distanced you before.
charles takes his hand and uses it to push a piece of your hair behind your ear. he then brings his mouth alongside your ear, his warmth breath fanning across your neck, causing you to shiver.
"happy new year y/n".
charles presses his lips against yours and at first its soft and everything you have been wishing for. his hand is tender on your cheek as your lips respond in sync. but then charles becomes more forceful taking dominance. you surrender and allow him to take the lead. you both pull away for a sliver of a moment to take a breath, your chests heaving trying to gather extra oxygen.
charles presses his forehead against yours and sighs.
"you don't know how long i've been wanting to do that" he admits with no shame that he had a desire for you for quite some time.
you chuckle because it had been the same for you. "i'm so glad you did" and at this charles smiles and presses a soft kiss on your lips once again.
"so now what?"
"now it's just me and you"
charles presses a kiss to your cheek and holds out his hand instructing you to take it. you walk through the main party entrance to find many couples making out and some strays downing alcohol.
kristy is in the corner chatting to a man, twirling her hair around her finger. charles leads you up the stairwell and kristy spots you and silenty to applauds her victory.
kristy sends you a wink and it suddenly registers in your mind that this was all her doing. you blow her a kiss and she catches it.
charles with his hand still tightly slotted into your own turns around to check on you. "you okay?" he asks.
you smile broadly and for once you can say confidently.
"i'm perfect".

Why he had to run out of this particular herb was beyond him. As if that wasn't annoying enough, his suppliers were out of stock and wouldn't be able to ship him any more. The location of this herb has become increasingly dangerous, and no one could figure out why the men sent to gather these herbs came back… weird, to say the least. Nonetheless, Baizhu needed those herbs to treat his patients.
Was it a stupid idea to travel out there by himself and gather them by hand; yes, most certainly, and Changsheng told him as much, but a doctor's mind is a puzzling thing.
Tumblr media
And that's how he ended up here; in the high mountains of Chenyu Vale. Normally, one would expect to run into a few monsters, at the very least, but Baizhu had yet to see a single one during his trek. There were plenty of other creatures, and the foliage didn't seem withered, so it's not as if this place was devoid of life nor on a biological decline—there was simply a lack of danger. Which is a strange occurrence, considering the reports he'd read…
That fact really should be comforting to the frail doctor, but in truth, it made a shiver run down his spine. His eyes nervously scanned over the immediate grassy grounds, hoping to catch a glimpse of the herb he so desperately needed — desperate enough to set foot on this mountain alone.
It took a bit more searching, but the herb in question was flourishing just around the back of one particular mountain. Baizhu carefully made his way towards the area, picking one herb and inspecting it to check its quality and that it was, in fact, the correct herb. Picking a few more, Baizhu comes across one plant that refuses to be plucked — an unusually tough herb, resisting his attempts to yank it out from the dirt.
As he goes to inspect the stem, a soft voice cries out; “U-um… excuse me? Could you help me…?” Looking over his shoulder, the doctor spots a person's head sticking up out of the ground—except their skin has a pale green hue to it, and as this person rises up, he notices how the ground around them shifts; as though the ground is a part of them.
Baizhu turns halfway, cautiously keeping an eye on you as he questions, “…What do you need help with?” The way your body flows effortlessly when you move—creating ripples in the immediate area around your torso—piques Baizhu's curiosity.
“O-oh! Um… it's a little embarrassing, if I'm being honest, sir…” you begin, “As you've probably guessed, I am not a human — think of me as a type of dendro spirit, I guess? Uh, anyways, there's this…ritual, of sorts, that only a human can help me with–”
The whole time you're explaining this predicament of yours, Baizhu keeps a watchful eye on you to make sure you're not tricking him. Even though you come across as rather sheepish.
“…I understand if you don't trust me, I just don't know what else to do…humans don't come around here too often, and the pain has become so much worse–”
“I'll help you.” He interjects. The sparkles in your eyes force him to hold back a chuckle as you thank him a million times over. “Please take me to this plant of yours.”
You excitedly take off, essentially a torso and head gliding halfway inside the ground, while this kind human with green hair trails just behind. Arriving at your destination, Baizhu kneels down, giving you a glance, and you return it nervously.
Baizhu eyes the plant inquisitively, staring at the odd shape and strange fleshy texture of the whole thing.
“Go on, doctor, I-I'm ready…” you prompt, giving the man a shy smile to mask your nerves.
With a quick breath to strengthen his resolve, the doctor raises his hands, wrapping them both around the plant and lightly squeezing it until a wet substance seeps out through the petals. “A-ah! aAh-” you gasp suddenly.
“I'm sorry—did that hurt?!”
You shake your head, nearly whimpering as you try to assure him, “N-no… just surprised me. Your hands… they're a bit cold…”
“My apologies, they should warm up soon enough. Shall we keep going?” Said like a true doctor. This stranger with kind eyes has been nothing but gentle with you so far, helping out a non-human creature whom he only met a few minutes ago, even if he finds your request a tad strange.
More wetness falls down his hands, pouring from the plant the more he squeezes and twists his hands around the elongated object. He experimentally moves his hands to other areas, and when Baizhu's thumbs rub and press on the tip of the plant, you're unable to hold back a sharp intake of air. Your eyes roll back momentarily, and you chomp down on your lower lip to conceal the noises threatening to escape.
The doctor eyes your pained expressions with worry written all over his face. “It's… fine — I'm fine. The pain… is not that bad… please, don't stop, doctor.”
As you wish, Baizhu milks more and more liquid from the plant, creating a pool of it underneath the stem of the plant—gradually creeping towards his knees and threatening to soak his pants. For the most part, it feels and looks like regular water, but there's a faint sensation of stickiness on his palms, close to the surface of the plant.
While this is supposed to be a medical procedure, Baizhu can't help feeling a bit… embarrassed by the whole situation. This plant of yours—it is a bit phallic. Not to mention how the method used to wring out the liquid is akin to… uh, a specific hand movement performed on phallic objects. The suggestive sounds coming from your mouth don't help that either. Baizhu can't ignore you when you moan out “Faster… faster, doctor- aah~ Keep stroking it like that… it's definitely woRKING-!”
The more Baizhu watches himself squeeze the glistening liquid from your plant, the deeper into a trance he falls — soon enough he's fallen so deep that he shamelessly jerks off the phallic plant until the tip opens up and explodes like a volcano; shooting thick, honey-like ropes all over Baizhu's pretty face.
The substance drips all down his features — clumping in strands of hair, clinging to his glasses, dripping from his nose and chin, and even a little sliding into his open mouth. “A-ah! Y-you… you did it… you made me release it all, doctor~” you comment — your words are the only thing penetrating that fuzzy mind of his right now. “Thank you soooo much~ But, could I trouble you with one more thing?” you lean forward, gently holding the doctor's chin so that he can't turn away from you. “Won't you help me again? It's the only way for me to feel all better.”
“Aah…? I don't… understand…” Baizhu breathes, confused and seemingly in a daze. It's such a precious sight to behold, really.
You reach out and slide a hand up and down the doctor's stomach, teasingly pushing his top up a few times before moving towards the edge of his pants. “You'll help me, won't you? You're such a kind doctor, after all~” you remind him. Baizhu's pants are quickly yanked down, removed the rest of the way by vines that the good doctor never noticed before…
With his sensitive areas laid bare for you to see, Baizhu gasps, frozen in place as your hands feel up his waist and thighs, pushing the latter apart so that you can inspect his body. Sliding two fingers towards his rear, you find that special hole humans have and tease around the rim of it. “Aha! There it is. I'm sorry to ask so much of you, but… I really need this right now.”
While he has no idea what you mean, the doctor senses something amiss within your words. Your fingers attempt to push inside of him, and Baizhu clumsily refuses. “I-I don't think… don't think that I can do that, young man… mm ooh~”
Impatiently, you lift him up and pull him towards you, hovering his hole right above the plant he'd previously milked. A little burst of liquid shoots from the tip, splashing against Baizhu's entrance, which startles him. The consistency of the liquid feels just like the substance it coated his face in earlier; thick, sticky, and warm.
While Baizhu's mind tries to resist, his body is doing quite the opposite, already lowering itself down until the tip of the plant is entering his ass. “A-AAH! Wait–!” he begs. But it's too little too late as your phallic plant penetrates him with ease, thanks to that honey-like fluid. The fleshy appendage pushes a wave of liquid inside his hole, and it creates a wet mess all over his ass, thighs, and the ground below as you begin to fuck him.
“Mm doctor… you feel incredible~ Hehe, look at that—this little guy is having fun too~” Baizhu blushes deeply, shaking his head while you watch his cock bounce every time your plant cock thrusts in.
“N-no… please, harder–! This is weird… aah~ so good~ ” the doctor grits his teeth, biting his lower lip as he grows frustrated by his own mouth betraying him. The cutest whimpers are the only sounds coming from his mouth as you continue your assault on his hole, thrusting your plant deeper and deeper. The amount of liquid gushing out of Baizhu's ass is ungodly now; sticky, squelchy, slick fluids that overflow with every thrust, filling his tummy until it hurts with how full it is.
“You're doing amazing, doctor! That terrible ache is almost gone, I j-just need to– guh!” you suddenly slam your hips into him, laughing as a pang of pleasure wracks your body and causes you to bury your cock in him. Your hands fly to his waist, and you bounce the human while he whimpers some more.
Tears begin to roll down Baizhu's cheeks, staining his glasses with a salty film as you release another round of that thick substance; this time inside the doctor's body. You pant wildly, mere inches from his face while your plant cock spreads open inside of his hole, releasing far too much liquid inside his belly.

Giving the yanderes the 'break, bite, bang' chocolate
Warnings: suggestive talk lol
A/N: it's new years, so why not joke around a little for the last day?
Tumblr media
Silas:
Giving him a bite without his knowledge would be like watching a lion find its prey. He would catch on quickly, realizing your little prank. You would be able to see the change in his eyes, minute for minute, his black eyes becoming a bottomless pit. If the two of you were around other people, you would feel his eyes burn into your soul, waiting for the moment until he could snatch you away. And the second he does ...
"You think you're so funny, don't you? Oh, trust me, you're going to deal with me until this wears off."
Tumblr media
Dr Kry:
He would have eaten it by mistake, not even knowing why he had it. He needed something sweet after a long shift and grabbed the first thing he could find. He wouldn't have known what was going on and would have freaked out. It wasn't until he picked up the packaging again that he realized.
"Where did I get these from? Alright, no panic, I can take care of this. I should not go into Y/N's room. How embarrassing ... where's the nearest bathroom?"
Tumblr media
King Edmund:
He would have been the one to suggest it. You share a piece and see how long you can hold out, a game to see who folds first. Edmund wanted to see you beg, but would be the one to break first.
"Fine, I admit defeat, fucks sake. You win, okay? I don't care what you do, just touch me before I fucking die!"
Tumblr media
Jerry:
She would be the one to trick you into eating it and then reject your efforts. You'd cry, begging her to help you and she would sit in an armchair, watch you closely and give you false pity, wearing a pleased smirk on her face.
"Poor thing, what's wrong? Are you feeling sick? You look like you're in pain. Tell me what's hurting, and I'll make it better. Maybe."
Tumblr media
Hedwig:
One of her friends would have gotten her the box as a jokeful birthday present and she would have underestimated the effect. It would quickly break her down, but she would be too embarrassed to tell you ... until she literally couldn't control herself anymore. She'd cry, both in embarrassment and need and cling to you.
"Please, help me. Please ... darling ..."

💞 Joe burrow! Your choice of genre !
imagine a cold war with joe.
Joe looked over from the couch, his expression a mix of surprise and guilt. "You're home early," he said, standing up to give you a kiss. You turned your head, the kiss landing on your cheek instead of your lips.
"I told you I'd be home around 7." Your voice filled with false calm as you held up the takeout bags. "I brought dinner from our favorite place and everything."
"Oh, shit!" Ja'Marr jumped to his feet at the sound of something other than Joe's ‘rabbit food’.
"Not for you," you shot the wide receiver a look that could cut through steel before sending another searing look at Joe. "Who's playing?" You knew better than to start an argument in front of his friends, especially when they were in such high spirits.
"Lakers and Nets," Tee announced, his eyes glued to the giant TV screen. "It's pretty good, you should join us."
You nodded, keeping your smile in place. "Maybe later." You didn't miss the look of concern on Sam's face, or the way Tee's smile faltered when he finally turned to see your expression. Only Ja'Marr remained blissfully unaware, shouting at the TV after a disheartening Lakers turnover.
"Hope you guys enjoy," you said, retreating into the kitchen. You heard Joe follow you, his footsteps heavy on the hardwood floor. He leaned against the counter, his eyes searching yours for some kind of explanation for the cold shoulder.
"I fucked up, didn't I?" Joe said, his voice low as he studied your tight expression.
You didn't bother to hide your frustration as you placed the food in the microwave. "You could say that," you replied, your voice tight. "You didn't mention you were having the guys over."
"You weren't even supposed to be home yet," Joe said defensively. "You always work late on Thursdays."
You closed the microwave with more force than necessary. "Did I not tell you I'd be home early tonight? That we needed to talk?" You didn't wait for his answer, your voice rising. "And you couldn't even bother to send me a text to let me know that the guys were coming over?"
"Right, because you read all your texts, huh?" Joe retorted, his voice laced with sarcasm. "Look, I didn't expect you to actually be home early. And even if I had, I wouldn't have canceled on the guys. We need this."
"Whatever, Joe," you scoffed. "Go entertain your friends. I'll eat upstairs."
"Babe, come on. You can't be serious," Joe pleaded, his voice a mix of irritation and confusion. "Just come watch the game with us. We'll talk after."
"No," you said firmly, turning to face him. "This is ridiculous." Your voice was tightly coiled, your eyes flashing with anger. You could feel the angry heat rising in your cheeks, but you didn't care. All you knew was that you couldn't spend another night pretending everything was fine.
"What do you want me to do?" Joe's voice was low and tired, his patience wearing thin. "I can't tell them to leave."
You took a deep breath, trying to rein in your temper. "You can tell them to keep it down," you said finally. "I have stuff to do."
Joe nodded. "Okay," he murmured. He turned and walked back into the living room, leaving you alone with the microwave's hum for company.

My Tears Ricochet
Ambessa Medarda x Reader
Part One
Synopsis: You and Ambessa have been married for nearly two decades—and your love was one many people could only dream of achieving. But when your wife leaves overseas to visit her daughter, you strained relationship finally reaches it’s peak.
cw; afab!reader; angst ; infidelity ; local cuisine makes an appearance ; suggestive behavior ; Ambessa being a bad wife
Special thanks to @hell0-ki55y for the prompt. I hope you like it :). Might do ‘Pretty In Pink’ one next.
……
The warm ocean breeze flowed through your (h/c) hair as you gazed upon the horizon. The ship slightly rocked side to side, and you knew you were bond to get seasick soon.
You were currently on your way to visit your wife—the formidable General Ambessa Medarda. She had recently took leave from Noxus to come to Piltover, though her reasons were scattered. You two shared a constant stream of letters back and forth, and she told you how the journey went and her rants of disgust towards the council. Sometimes that’s all she wrote to you about. You didn’t mind. What you did mind—however—was when the letters stopped coming.
It started off small—you wrote one letter to her and didn’t get a reply. Simply shrugging it off and saying to yourself ‘maybe it got lost in the mail’, you sent another….and another…and another. It didn’t take long for you to suspect something.
Piltover was as greedy as they are unpredictable. While you doubt they would’ve done anything to Ambessa (considering they would lose much, much more than they’d gain), you wouldn’t take any chances. Anything could’ve happened.
She could’ve fallen ill—or worse. At first the thought of it simply slipping her mind was there, but it quickly vanished. Ambessa was never one to let anything associated with you slip her mind.
What really set your suspensions high was when her daughter, Mel Medarda—who you had a close relationship with for most of her life, one you cherished—replied to a letter you sent asking about Ambessa.
‘You should come see for yourself.’
The sentence left you in a state of confusion—but also reassurance. Ambessa was fine, but….something was wrong. It wasn’t how your wife doing….
It was what your wife was doing.
……
The ship finally arrived at the docks of Piltover. The few servants and guards that were aboard the ship disembark and helped you unload the few bags you brought with you.
You looked around—searching for Ambessa. You had sent a letter saying you were worried for her and would sail there, but you knew she hadn’t gotten it.
Instead, you were met with the council member and your lovely step-daughter—Mel.
She smiled as you approached. It had been a while seen you’d seen each other, and she towered over you. You engulfed her in a big, warm hug—one that she seemed to desperately need.
“Oh, Mel…”, you said into her shoulder.
“Mother…”, she whispered back. She had gave you the title years ago, yet sometimes, you still felt you didn’t deserve it.
The two of you shared a moment of silence, taking in each other. Her gaze was soft and warm, yet pity lied beneath it.
You smiled and held onto her shoulders. “Mel, look how much you’ve grown!”
She laughed, “Wish I could say the same for you.”, she said as she gazed down at your shorter frame.
You bumped your hip against yours as you two intertwined your arms. “I stopped growing many, many years ago. It’s something I’ve came to peace with.”
The two of you continued to talk as your servants and guards trailed you with your few belongings. You commented on the things you saw, asked Mel how her position as a councilwoman was, and who her new boy-toy was all about. She visibly cringed when you brought him up. Though, she would’ve dwelled more on that topic than the one involving the whole reason you came here.
“What’s going on with your mother?”, you finally asked.
Mel looked around, now slightly uncomfortable. She replied to you with a simple “Hm” as the two of you continued walking. You halted her in her tracks.
“Hm? Really? Your mother’s acting weird..and now you too?”
She bit the inside of her mouth before she sighed, now fully facing you. “Did you notice anything strange before she left?”
You were taken aback by her question, but after a moment of thinking , you answered, “Well, she has been quite distant as of late. But, you know how she can get. And she hasn’t been reply to the letters I’ve sent her.”
Mel looked at you as if she had solved a puzzle—the thoughts connecting in her mind. But there wasn’t an ounce of celebration on her face. She grabbed both of your hands, contemplating what to say next. “I’ll take you to see her. She’s not far from here.”
You looked at Mel in confusion, while she took you softly by the hand and led you towards Ambessa.
The rest of the walk was spent in an uncomfortable silence.
……
You arrived at a beautiful building. While the sight of it was breathtaking—it was as just as plain as the rest of Piltover.
Mel nodded towards the entrance. “She’s in there”, she whispered.
You nodded, and signaled for your servants and guards to wait here. You hiked your skirt and began to ascend up the white stairs. You spared one more glance in Mel’s direction, and found her speaking with your servants and guards. Your excitement was uncontrollable as you got closer and closer to the entrance. You hadn’t seen your wife in weeks—and the things you wanted to do to her were unspeakable. You bit your bottom lip just thinking about it.
For a moment, you could hear was sounded like men’s laughter. You brushed it off, until you heard it again—though this time it was muffled.
What had taken you aback the most—however—was the sound of your wife’s deep, low breaths. The ones she made when she…
No.
After an eternity, you reached the top of the stairs. And it took everything in you not to scream right then and there.
There Ambessa was, her back turned to you as she sat upon a large, lavish couch. From where you stood, you could see her the coils of her grey hair fall on her shoulders as she laid back. Sat perched on her lap was a man—with fiery auburn hair and pale skin. He was petite and charming—almost like a woman. His lips were full as he licked them and his green hungry eyes raked over your wife’s frame.
Her honey-kissed hands roamed his body in ways only she had promised to touch you in. You felt a mix of emotions all at once at the sight. Anger, resentment, confusion, surprise, sadness. You wanted to scream and shout. Every painting and vase in the room didn’t know how much you wanted to break it.
But instead of doing any of that, you simply whispered her name.
“Ambessa?”
The man’s eyes shot open as he suddenly looked towards you. Embarrassment and surprise was evident on his face, but he made no move to get off Ambessa’s lap.
Your wife finally turned around to catch your eye, and you’d never seen her looked so surprised. Looking her in the eye was your breaking point as you rushed out the room, hot tears streaming down your face.
“Y/N!”, she called out your name, but to no avail. She moved to get up, but noticed the twink still on her lap.
“Get off me, you fool!”, she roughly pushed him off. He fell to the floor with a thud and stared at Ambessa’s frame as she raced out the room. The wine was long gone—now spilled across the once white pristine floor.
“Wait! Y/N!”, she called out once again. She looked around frantically, and noticed some of her guards stationed at the bottom of the stairs.
“Stop her!”, she commanded, but they ignored her as they ushered you into a car.
Mel closed the door just as her mother was about to approach. She pulled on the handle, only to find it locked.
She stopped to look inside the glass, and found the last person she was expecting—Mel. She looked at her mother sternly in disappointment through the glass. There wasn’t an ounce of sympathy. She simply shook her head. With a wave of her hand, the car was off.
Ambessa stood there dumbfounded, angry, and regretful.

I also want to counter that removing most of these farms will simply lead to another being made and then it's not even the iron farms fault look at something like hermitcraft most of them build farms of all varieties and they play for a long long time because they don't just "beat" the game and move on. They have building projects and play pranks on each other. They make their own fun.
As the explosive witch said it's a mindset issue and honestly these people should really just move to terraria calamity it sounds like an experience much more in line with what they want.
Though tbh they shouldn't be playing any sort of sandbox with this mindset (maybe factory builders but that's it.)
i keep getting recommended videos about how minecraft isn't fun anymore and it's mojangs fault. i think its such a fascinating phenomenon because i think at least 70% of that comes down to anything getting a little stale when it's all you do for years and years. of course you're going to not feel like something is as fun as it used to be, you started playing minecraft when you were 11 and you are 23 now with a job. things change and you are experiencing it.

Snow fell outside the cabin, heavy enough that you wanted to stay indoors to avoid the cold yet light enough to create a serene image. It looked like something from a painting, down to the moonlight shining through the trees. The perfect winter evening. Even better because you had the perfect man to share it with.
“Do I have to pry you away from the window, Bambi?” Bucky asked, his deep rumbly voice making you smile. “Not that the view out the window isn’t beautiful, but I think the better view is over here.”
Looking over your shoulder, you gazed at your beautiful lumberjack as he added one more log to the fireplace. He had a point about the better view. He had his hair pulled back tonight and wore a sweater with his signature jeans, and he likely had the sleeves of his shirt pushed up to tease you and get your attention. “Maybe,” you replied, biting your lip as he stood up. “Give me one reason why I should join you over there instead of staying over here, Burly.”
He gestured to the spot in front of the fireplace where he had a blanket and pillows set up, creating a romantic setting to go with the perfect winter evening. “One, this is the perfect place to keep warm and two, you get a chance to snuggle with me.”
You tapped your finger against your chin. You never needed a reason to cuddle with your man, but you would happily take it. Still, it was fun to tease him a little. “Tempting, tempting,” you said, pretending to think about it as he took slow, deliberate steps toward you. “Give me another reason.”
“Oh, no. You said one reason and I actually gave you two. Keeping warm, and snuggling with me,” he smirked, reaching out to take your hand. “And I think snuggling with me should actually count as two and three.”
“That’s true. I’ll give you that.” You let him pull you close, but leaned your head back when he tried to kiss you. The pinch in his brows was adorable. “But what about the hot chocolate?”
You couldn’t help smiling when he looked offended, his pretty blue eyes filled with mock hurt. “You think I’d set up a romantic fire for us on a cold night and not have hot chocolate waiting?” he asked, your heart racing when he gripped your chin, his calloused touch filled with tenderness that no one else got to experience. “And here I thought you loved me.”
“I do love you,” you whispered, not stopping him this time when his lips touched yours. It was as gentle as the snow falling, sending wonderful shivers down your spine. “And I know you love me, too.”
He showed you every day that he loved you through his thoughtfulness. Like how he always had your favorite snacks stocked up so you wouldn’t have to rush into town when you had a craving. Or how he had blankets or one of his shirts nearby, so you’d stay warm. And a kiss on your lips every morning before he started his day and one every evening once he came home.
“More than anything,” he whispered, your heart racing all over again. “Now will you please snuggle with me before I lose my mind?”
You melted at his puppy dog eyes. How could someone so burly pull off a look like that? And crave snuggling so much? “Okay, but only because I don’t want you to lose your mind,” you teased.
“That’s incredibly gracious of you,” he winked.
Once you both sat down, you settled into Bucky’s arms with a happy sigh. The scent of the hot chocolate drifting from the nearby mugs made your mouth water, and the crackling fire created a relaxing aura. You could fall asleep just like that, with your man holding you through the night until the morning came.
“So, snow falling outside, hot chocolate, snuggling in front of a fire,” you smiled, resting a hand on his chest. “A perfect winter evening?”
“Yeah,” he answered, gazing at you as you stared into the fire, his love for you as bright as the flames. “A perfect winter evening.”

HOW STEB COMMUNICATES!
And... that's kinda it. A deep dive into how Steb communicates but I fight to stay on topic the longer you read.
NOTE: I gave this whole post a hazy and blurry zonked glance while muttering to myself before pressing post. There may be some spelling mistakes / incorrect wording.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Question by this person, but I was too lazy to make a separate post since I already had a draft similar to this question saved. I LOVE YOU CORACOOKIECRUMBLE!!! 😁😁😁😁⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
There aren't many scenes of Steb trying to communicate with someone, so it's difficult to say for sure how he communicates, but I think I have a pretty decent idea.
IN THE VIDEO BELOW
You see Steb with Maddie. This is the only scene really showing how they talk to one another, and the situtiain is tense, so it's hard to say how he communicates in more relaxed situations. In this scene, Steb communicates with her that he's ready by grunting, to which she understands.
IN THE GIF BELOW
Once again, in a tense situation, Steb makes some noise to communicate. This time, he speaks. Not only does he speak, but he also motions for everyone to follow him. With that being said, this proves that Steb CAN talk. He just doesn't want to.
Tumblr media
This is not the only time Steb uses body language to communicate.
IN THE GIF BELOW
Steb cocks his head to the side, signaling to Maddie that they should go, as well as walking away with her once they're called.
Tumblr media
IN THE TWO GIFS BELOW
Steb uses some hand and arm motions to signal to others. In the first one, he signals to Caitlyn to fall back, being that he had planted the bomb. In the second GIF, he signals for the enforces to turn off the beacons, since there didn't appear to be anyone coming to help fight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IN THESE TWO GIFS BELOW
Steb grabs Mel to help her up, and in the second GIF, he grabs up the other guy to detain him. (I don't know if he has a name, and im too tired to look for one.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Steb doesn't say anything prior to touching them, but the situations are also something to consider. Steb has his hands out to both of them, catching their attention just before actually putting his hands on them. Whether or not it's intentionally meant to be a signal, it's still something he does.
With these situations, it's hard to say EXACTLY how he is when using physical contact to communicate, but it'd say it isn't something he does often. He grabs Mel because it's an emergency, and he needs to make sure she's alright and out of there as soon as possible. He grabs the guy to detain him, following Caitlyn's orders and arresting him. Every time he touches someone (on screen), it's not really to communicate, and more so to assist / do his job.
CONCLUSION AND ANSWERS:
Is Steb mute?
No.
Is he selectively mute?
It seems most likely........? (Considering the information we have, at least.)
That being said, if he IS selectively mute, he may be open to speaking more frequently with someone close to him. Maybe even if it's just a little bit. (Short sentences, short answers, quiet speaking voice, murmuring, ect.) I can speak more on this at the end of this post for the people who wanna read about it.
Do I think he uses sign language? No. I really doubt it. He communicates both intentionally and unintentionally with small gestures, body language, and expression. He might use some type of hand signs occasionally? Not sign language itself, but just hand gestures that give you a vague idea of what he wants. For example, maybe you'll ask him why he's out somewhere, and he'll tug on the fabric of his enforcer uniform, signaling he's there for work. You'll ask why he's looking at you, and he'll point to his face as reference to your own, signaling that you have something on you and showing where it is.
Again, there's isn't enough Information to be 100% certain, but I feel like my conclusion is relatively sound.
Extra yap you were previously warned about:
I can talk more about selective mutism in another post for the people interested. Keep in mind, I'm NOT a professional. I'm autstic and I'm just nerdy about this. I don't wanna dump a whole bunch of information that is not at least 87% Steb related in this post, so I'm gonna say this next part like I'm one of those youtubers who has an audience of 5 year olds and makes those 3 am challenge videos cause it's funny.
GUYS, IF WE CAN GET AT LEAST FIVE PEOPLE TO COMMENT THAT THEY WANNA HEAR ABOUT SELECTIVE MUTISM IN ANOTHER POST, ILL MAKE A POST ABOUT SELECTIVE MUTISM AND HOW STEB WOULD MOST LIKELY BEHAVE OFF SCREEN IF HE HAS IT!! DONT FORGET TO SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON, SUBSCRIBE, AND TURN ON THE NOTIFICATIONS BELL!!
I LOVE YOU STEB NATION!!! 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯❗️❗️❗️❗️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️🙏🙏🙏🙏
