According to Vil in his Halloween Dress vignettes, "The school allows housewardens/dorm leaders to make adjustments to their dorm uniform as they see fit.” And since Leona's the only person in his dorm with his shirt skewed like that, one can only conclude that he intentionally altered his dorm uniform to be like that???? Or is the excuse that one side of his shirt is riding up (from lying down or tossing around a lot) and he doesn't bother pulling it down??? AND IT'S LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME, IGNORING THE LAWS OF PHYSICS????? That doesn't make any sense... but it also doesn't make sense why he'd pin one side up or get it tailored to be like that by default??? The devs have yet to explain why each dorm leader has settled on the current version of their dorm uniform, save for Riddle explaining why he wears heels for his. I'd really love to hear what Leona's diegetic reasoning for that weird-ass shirt is...

BY THE WAY 💀💀💀 YOU KNOW WHAT I NOTICED WHILE STARING AT THE SAVANACLAW DORM UNIFORMS TO COMPARE TO LEONA'S???????

The usual way to wear the shirt (which is oversized) seems to be to tuck it inside of your pants. Rook tucks his shirt in loosely, Jack and the mobs tuck it in properly, Ruggie doesn't tuck it in, and Leona... well, you already know the whole mess with him.

But the dorm leader is supposedly the only person that's allowed to have uniform alterations, right??? Then why does Ruggie have sleeves on his dorm uniform and Leona, Jack, and Savanaclaw mobs don't...? Rook in his Savanaclaw era also seems to have torn the sleeves off of his uniform, which implies that the standard issue Savanaclaw uniforms might have sleeves. Or are there just two variations (sleeveless and with sleeves) of the Savanaclaw dorm uniform??

LASTLY (and this one really kills me OTL)… Jack, Ruggie, Rook, and the mobs all have… smaller boob windows than Leona does. I’M NOT EVEN KIDDING I wish I was, LOOK AT THEIR MODELS??? They’re all narrower than Leona’s… Kind of hard to see on Ruggie and Rook, but we can assume it’s the same as Jack and the mobs’. (Ruggie does have one voice line where he says he has a hand-me-down from Leona, meaning his shirt might be just as open, but that’s in reference to his school uniform and not his dorm uniform.)

You can say maybe his discrepancy is a matter of… size difference?? But then that implies Jack (who has a shirt with a narrow opening) is less muscular than Leona even though Jack is more muscular (at least in the arms), isn’t he…?

It's time I post my opinion on the other changes of the demo ! I'll try and make it sort since I want to make another post about Leander's route in particular >:)

Tldr : I liked it and I can't wait to see how everything will go plot wise in the full game 👀

/!\ Spoilers for TS demo update ! /!\

So let's adress the tiny bits first : the origin change, and the minor dialogue/scenario changes. Love it. Yes I like the new origin I think the idea is cool, what I didn't like was the change itself (but that's not the topic). Firstly, it gives us a big info : there IS several languages in the world of TS ! WOOO let's go if that's not a win for bilingual/multilingual MCs idk what it is

The minor changes I notices are mainly a few differences in Kuras and Ais' segments which are very welcome, and more depth added to Mhin's and Vere's segment. First of all thank RSS for shutting up dense people by stating why MC wears bandages rather than gloves. I mean, most of us figured it out a while back by rubbing two braincells together, but it's nice to see it mentionned ! It was seemlessly added to Kuras' segment too, really nice. Then expending the Iris segment was good (also confirmed the NPC telling us abut Ais is Iris, or well, what's left of her anyways)

The new sprites and expression are all super good. Special mention for Vere's smile, truly the highlisht of that category. That and Leander's puppy eyes expression-

Onto Vere and Mhin, I really appreciated being able to explore more choices. Mhin is so cute and what a nerd I LOVE THEM. Also Vere... I know what you are and you have a type 🫵 (he is a freak /pos)

Now let's talk about the bigger changes and also the man of the hour (who's also my wife /j) LEANDER YEEEEEEAH BABYYYYYY. So other's have already pointed out the changes and explained very well the symbolism behind it. They got rid of the dog imagery to get a snake one, which is very clever. Also on the addertsone, a magic item also associated with snakes (or adders) and poison ? Wonderful. Leander in terms of theme and design is already sourrounded by a lot of poison symbolism (notably his color palette, he is dripping in green and has a shade or green that once was made with arsenic) so the changes ties perfectly with it. One thing that was removed which I think should have stayed is the green cloaks on Leander's followers. Not only it would reinforce the cult-ish vibe but go very-well with the snake imagery of the Adders and would even elevate it. That said, maybe it'll be added later or will be noticeable on future NPC sprites. The green cloaks aside if they don't keep it, I hope the Adders will all have a sign of distinction no matter what that could be (bonus if it's very subtle or hidden)

Then for the rest of the changes, they not only changed the Bloodhound into the Adderstone but changed Leader's characterisation. As a Leander simp, to be fair the change isn't drastic, only the presentation is. If anything, they didn't change Leander's character and take another path, but cranked it up to eleven. And I absolutely loved it. He is more charismatic, more assertive, and is very obviously more manipulative and calculated. He isn't outwardly hostile to MC, far from it, but let's me tell you something. After the tavern segment, if you chose Leander's route. When he closes the door and locks it, with his front facing sprite. I was terrifed (/pos) the dev's nailed it and they know what they are doing with him and leaned into that aspect of him more and honestly thank you RSS for catering to us freaks rather than the "but I want Leander to be a normal guy" crowd (I will forever judge them it's a gothic horror game for the love of god). I need him more than before. Oh my god. My only complain tho is I thought Leander would go full scary creeping and stab MC in their room and it didn't happen so I was a bit disappointed BUT. I smell like it's because they are keeping the sauce for the full game. That was a mere sample, a teaser of Leander depravity and my body is READY for it.

I will revisit my Leander analysis doc I never posted and expend on it and make an updated version to match the Demo 2.0 update, but you can be sure I'll post it once I have time to put it together sihfoqhf

Be prepared I have a theory about what's his deal and I can't believe I've never thought about it while it was so obvious 🫵

This was a loooong week. I made almost no progress on my own things because every day was spent at AP teacher training and the evenings I spent wrangling Littlest Bon so she didn't spend the *whole* night in front of the TV. Why? She discovered K-Pop Demon Hunters and is obsessed. (Predictable side effect? I now know all the lyrics to the songs, and y'all, some of them are bangers.)

STITCHES I don't know if you know, but more than a footnote's final chapter went up on Friday, and I used that as an excuse to transform into a one-woman PR machine for @mooncello this week. Doll promo posts are really so fun to do, especially when they involve props and settings. It takes a while to get the perfect shot. Irep as an infant was able to defeat Jorgen, and then as an adult he gets thrown like a football by the guy.

Obviously it could just be the fact that baby fairy magic is incredibly powerful and as he grew up it mellowed out, but it just really goes to highlight the difference between Irep as a child and Irep as an adult.

When he was born in Anti Poof, the first thing Irep does is steal his dad's catchphrase about silence of the lambs as his first words, claim he wants to be the only fairy baby in existence by getting rid of Peri, and to also be despised and feared by all because if Peri is beloved, Irep states that he wants to be dreaded.

Irep, despite being basically 6 minutes old at this point, also sees himself as strictly independent. He gets bored of his mother and her affections, finding her immediately tiring. He doesn't need his parents and he doesn't do well with others.

He and Anti Cosmo immediately clash over this.

Anti Cosmo wants to do things together as a family unit; all three of them, he literally says as such. Irep retaliates by zapping his father and going out to commence his evil plans by himself regardless of what his father wants or thinks. Not taking anything he does season 8 and above into account, this remains the case for almost all of Irep's appearances. When he's doing something, he's doing it alone.

Compare this to Irep in A New Wish. Who actually teams up with someone and who actually has support behind him--that being the antifairies, and also Dev (temporarily.)

Irep, compared to how he was as a baby, definitely craves the validation and reassurance of others, like this guy is so insecure that he gets teary-eyed at the mere mention that he's better than Peri. He still wants to kill him too, but y'know, what's wrong with a little murder, right /j

Irep to me gives off "Well Done, Son!" Guy vibes in the same vein that Dev does. He wants approval. He wants the recognition that his evil plans since infanthood aren't fruitless. He rejected the chance to go along with his parents or to consider the idea of collaboration when he was younger, only to do a 180 as he got older. The difference is that he isn't young anymore, and that the validation he wants now isn't going to express itself as easily as it should've been then.

One thing nobody talks about enough is that Peri seems to purposely distance himself from his parents. He loves them, of course, and they love him back, but he deems them "too clingy." They didn't even know he was going through magical back-up till they found him in the cage. He didn't tell anyone about that.

Peri wants to be separate and independent, so much so that it's to his own detriment. It would only make sense for Irep to go in the opposite direction and actively seek out and include his parents in his schemes.

I know I don’t mention this much but I feel the need to bring it up now (since the last book 7 update was the Octavinelle one) 😂

Is anyone else like… disappointed by how much Jade’s UM got seriously nerfed??? Shock the Heart has so many limitations. Firstly, it requires eye contact. Plus, it can only use it ONCE per person. Even then, it is not guaranteed to work since it fails on people who are on high alert and those under his UM's influence can still refuse to answer questions demanded of them. How am I supposed to believe Jade somehow has enough magical capacity to attend a prestigious school like NRC?????? (Especially when you consider that it may entirely be possible to substitute his UM for just slipping someone a truth serum or something.)

Some low magic mages like Fellow can use his UM multiple times, even letting his UM seemingly "stack" (and thus enhance its effect). And this is FELLOW, a character whose backstory involves him being rejected from magic schools, who scoffed at his low level of magic. So... Jade, who has enough magic capacity to attend NRC, one of the most prestigious arcane academies, has a weak as heck UM while Fellow, who has so little magic he doesn't qualify for much less prestigious arcane academies, has a UM that has multiple uses that enhances its power with each cast?????????? OKAY????????? And not only that, but many of Jade's classmates have much more advanced and complicated UMs too (look at Jamil with his MIND CONTROL 🤡 which hurts the victim the more they resist) or can essentially spam their UM (stares at Silver). So how come Jade is like the ONLY person who only has a one-time use UM????? Of all UMs, is this really the only one the devs thought would be overpowered???? I understand that there will naturally be variance in the power and abilities of each mage, but it still feels like he really got the short end of the stick...

I... guess the nature of the UM makes sense with Jade's crafty nature??? Because the limited usage for it reinforces and informs Jade's caution and strategizing for the instances in which he actually breaks out his UM. BUT THE ISSUE IS THAT THE VERY SAME COULD BE ACHIEVED IF HE HAD AN UNLIMITED NUMBER OF USES. Jade could still be wary about using Shock the Heart frequently because it could allow others to catch on to what his UM does... and if they're alert around him or avoid looking him in the eyes, it makes his UM fail anyway. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE DEVS WOULD DO HIM SO DIRTY LIKE THIS OTL J word doesn’t deserve this injustice, LET HIM BE A MENACE

The only bit of solace I have and cling onto is that maybe MAYBE Jade was lying to us all along about how limited his UM is (I have no reason to believe this is canon since, even as late as the dire circumstances of book 7, Jade keeps describing his UM as single use only and can’t seem to exceed the single use rule even in a dream)💀 He can use it as many times as he likes, he’s just deceiving us about the one time use to lure the few people who do ultimately find out about his UM into a false sense of security… or maybe his UM is still developing and could become stronger over time??? Cuz like. Why chide Floyd for casually telling others about his UM but then Jade ALSO just casually tells us about his UM... That’s my (delusional) non-canon compliant headcanon 😤
