Just watched Goncharov for the first time and I am writhing over how no one is talking about the kitchen table scene.
The way Katya drunkenly murmurs “I fear I don’t remember it anymore.”? The way Sofia moves the glass away from her without a sound, just leans in, like she knows she can offer more comfort than any spirit?? The way Kayta takes her hand starts tracing the lines of the scar when she says talks about her mother’s burn??? “Is this all I can hold onto? Not the taste of lapsha, only the pain she endured?”??? The way Sofia slowly grasps their hands together?
“Is this all we are? Fit only to inherit the scars of devotion?”
