And wulf Ach wulf man idk what to say I will say that the German dub gave him a better and deeper voice then the English voice so that was nice! I had some feeling for him when his father died and he got choked out by helm but he really went all out to become very pathetic.

Some notes from watching Ghibli's Tales from Earthsea:

I guess they were hoping having Lebannen be a killer runaway would make him more engaging a character than he was in Le Guin's books. Certainly its a more exciting introduction than "was sent to Roke and Ged decided he should tag along." But this is hampered by how Lebannen and all these characters have maybe two character traits between them.

No matter how bad the movie is, if its a Ghibli film its gonna be beautiful. The background artists for this should be given a medal. Hork town especially is incredible:

Although these are clearly Ghibli asthetics more than Earthsea aesthetics. We got all your Ghibli staples: the weird mammals that are almost real animals, the random fighterpilot elements in the costume design, that one weird type of hood, etc.

I do like the action scene of Lebannen dealing with the slavers. Only well-paced part of the film I've seen.

The shadow "visiting" Lebannen while he rests was done very well. The color dimming, the shadow on the water, the rushing wind towards him, its all great. I'm especially a fan of how when Lebannen looks over his shoulder, he sees nothing but a stream of water coming out of a wall. Fits with what's actually happening on in the dryland very well.

The "Ged rescues Lebannen but only takes the chains off the other slaves" is a weird detail to keep in the adaptation, though I guess it's less an obviously dick move when the slaves aren't trapped on a boat with their former captors.

I feel mixed about this version of Cob? Making him the slaver lord isn't a bad choice, though it does kind of positions slavery in Earthsea as "the bad thing that the one bad guy is doing" instead of, y'know, a cornerstone of Hork Town's economy.

They don't make him an especially originally villain either. He's literally introduced with the old "flash of villains castle, lieutenant comes in nervously to report on escape, almost gets killed until he mentions something important" trope. They did kind of flatten him into the stock fantasy big bad.

But Cob from the books didn't really have a lot going on character-wise either, so its less offensive a flattening than some of the other characters. And I do like his character design alot. That eye makeup is some Hot Topic Shit but it works. The thin lips and tall everything is a type of exaggeration I don't see in Ghibli's character design very often.

Christ, Ged's monologue about the balance and true names is really just plopped on the audience's lap like a dead mouse. The bridge from "why does a wizard like farming" to "everything has a true name that wizard's use for its power" is nonexistent. They really couldn't find another place to explain the basics of the magic system? Couldn't seed it with Ged using true names while freeing the slaves? No? Lord.

The ghibli food twitters aren't gonna touch this movie. No love was put into that cheese.

Oh this depiction of the dry lands fucks. Love how the sky is a completely different artstyle than anything else in this movie, really sells this as a weird and alien place.

Hare and two suspicious women clutching each other and going "they're not from around here" are the only time this movie has felt like it knew what it was doing. They're giving them banter and the actors are being allowed to put emotion into their voices. They're actually breaking out facial expressions for these guys.

God all the dialogue is so bad.

WHEN IS THIS SONG GONNA FUCKING END

What the fuck is Lebannen and Tehanu's relationship. None of their emotional beats have any real connection.

The thing haunting Lebannen (are they giving him the gebbeth plotline?) always makes the best scenes. Lebannen struggling to wade through the muck while the shadow casually strolls atop the water's surface creates such great tension and horror.

Tenar keeps talking about being rescued from the tombs and pausing like there's about to be a flashback. Why are they bringing so much attention to that detail if they're not gonna tie it in to anything. Either have it be an aside to make the world feel richer without it being a thing your constantly gesturing at, or don't bring it up at all.

It really was a choice to take the worst Earthsea book as the main thing they're adapting. All the "life without death is no life" rubbish and not even Le Guin's prose to save it. It's not even a theme the rest of the movie seems concerned with.

Why are they taking something called "Earthsea" and making 90% the outskirts of Hork Town. We saw the ocean like twice. This supposedly expansive fantasy world feels twenty feet across.

Having Tehanu follow the gebbeth to the castle is honestly a really cool adaptational choice. I do like the weird conflict they set up between the gebbeth and Cob over who gets to have Lebannen.

See when Ged didn't do shit for most of The Far Shore it was fine, because it was the third book in the series and the reader already knew why he was a big deal. Here we keep hearing how cool and powerful he is but get shown nothing.

2D has grown odd in his old age.

They have not set up dragons as a thing (or connectd them to Tehanu) nearly enough for this ending to work. Having Tehanu transform instead of calling Kalesin works adaptation-wise though.

Final analysis: I liked Hork Town. I like how the dragons trail sparks from their eyes. I like Cob going all gooey. I like Hare. These were the isolated pockets in an otherwise bland experience. The plot was barely held together and I can't imagine someone who hadn't read the books would be able to enjoy this at all.

If he was always good at cutting off people right at the moment there wouldn't have been instances where people used him. Again he learned it over the yrs. • Toya is the opposite. Despite being tiny, he liked the floor thank you very much.

• Ichika loves to give her girlfriends finger pats.

• I said it and I'll say it again. Akito is Ena's personal uber.

• One time someone told MMJ to kick off Minori since she was a "pest" and Airi told them to More More Jump off a cliff.

• Mizuki thought that Akito was a Tiny. Oh were they super duper wrong.

• Whenever she is at Kanade's, Honami oftens shifts into a Tiny to clean the little crevices and shifts taller to clean the ceilings.

• While An, Emu, Shiho and Saki usually uses their enhanced Jump Boost and Increased Stamina to move around their normal human houses. Ena doesn't get that luxury as a human so there are lots of little staircases in the Giant Shinonome household or use Akito as uber.

• Samo is ½ inches tall.

• Akito loves to pickup his tiny friends (Not Toya for obvious reasons) for no reason.

• She was quickly proven wrong the moment Emu entered her life.

• When Mafuyu went to Ena's in her 3rd Focus Event (I forgot it's name but it's the I-Nandesu event), she lied to her mom that Ena's house is very far away so her mom wouldn't restrict from going to Ena's house, which is. On the Giant Section

• On the same event, Ena also lied to Mafumom that instead of being Shinei's daugther, she is Shinei's student. Since the ugly ass witch would suspect her being Shinei's student less rather than being directly related to him.

• Airi is super protective as a Giant. Anybody who badmouths MMJ will get a fist from this gal.

• Tsukasa is very experienced in dealing with Tinies considering that his sister is a Tiny and his totally-not-illegally-adopted little brother is a Sizeshifter.

• Akito treats Ena more roughly than other people smaller than him due to Cain Instincts™

• Whenever Saki faints in her Tiny form, everyone in the vicinity goes nuts.

• Kohane is also really good at dealing with Tinies. Proof being Minori, Shiho, An and Toya

• Mizuki bluescreened the first time they went over to Ena's.

• They still tease Akito regardless of him being a Giant.

• They also pull off a Ratatouille on him.

Currently I'm going to be treating this as a log of sorts to keep track of my progress and things. Along with other things. :)

since I've had a log before this, below the cut will be what I have written so far. Then at later log updates ill make it its own post and keep it all in the #log tag for easy searching.

I'm deciding to try to write more correctly now but before now I haven't and I dont feel like correcting it.

10/20/23 12:04pm; conception of this game, and begining of making it. 2:31pm; finished the art gallery (no art yet) and got working teleport pads! 6:02pm; finished the house (empty atm).

10/23/23 forgot to log so im logging this on the 24th… built a house but hated that one so i rebuilt it w some help from msbgshay ^_^ added some artwork in the gallery

10/24/23 almost done with room 1 and room 2 just need to add details (hate roblox and their decals. got introuble like twice.) will plan out the third room then work on the living room and filling up the other areas of the house then i can move on :3

10/25/23 finished room 1 and 2, just need to make more special animations ^_^ working on the rest of the house now + their animations

10/26/23 1:36am. ^^… started building hot topic, added swings/playground/vending machines that obviously arent mine i got them from the toolbox :3 started finally working on the third room, really like it so far but it is an odd shape for a room so a little difficult to work with but thas ok ^^ 8:00pm i believe we've finished the main bits of thehouse!!! OMG!! added special tiny stuff around ^^

4/22/24 Finally picked this game back up after a few months of leaving it in the dust. Currently planning on finishing the hot topic. I've also rearranged ALOT of the surrounding area, the house is no longer in the middle as I felt it was sorta cramped there. I've removed the avatars around as I feel they don't really serve their purpose anymore. I also need to remember to add more into the gallery. But I'm also tempted to just remove it honestly. I probably wont, but I'm considering it. Oh I also edited the obby to be easier, I really had no reason to make it that difficult before... LOL. I also want to remake the thumbnail, and banner and mayyyybe make some ad posters, but I'm unsure about that last one.

I'm tempted as well to completely redo the morph room but I feel like that would be such a pain in my ass but I think some stuff is bugged that I'm not sure if redoing it all myself would be easier. Because all of the accessory morphs are the ones from the tool box yk? though edited to fit properly inside the room, and some deleted if they're duplicates.

Rhea Ripley had a great entrance.

Rhea looked super dominant.

Rhea really does look like a star.

Despite being ill Becky Lynch still competed.

Nothing to fo with the match but the stage was very meh.

This match could have easily been on anorher PPV this year.

The led of Becky's book wont have been seen by the fans in attendance.

     WWE Womens World Championship match Rhea Ripley (Champion) vs Becky Lynch.  Womens wrestling at it’s finest from two of the best in the business today a cracking straight up fight that continues to show Rhea Ripley as one of the top women’s wrestlers in the business. 3rd favourite of night 1

    Multi Man Tag Team Ladder Match for the Raw and Smackdown Tag Team championship.  Judgement Day (Damien Priest and Finn Balor) (Champions) vs New Day vs A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory/Grayson Waller) vs DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa) vs New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne) vs Awesome Truth (R-Truth and Miz).  Great to see Ladder matches back at wrestle mania in the triple H era with fun spots and moments, the two right teams won.

  Rey Mysterio/Andrade with LWO vs Dominic Mysterio and Santos Escobar.  Fun Luchador high flying tag team match with a lame ending involving two Philadelphia Eagles Football Players Jason Kiece and Lane Johnson.

Jimmy Uso vs Jey Uso, weakest match on the card.

  Bianca Bel Air/Jade Cargill/Naomi vs Damage Control (Dakota Kai/Asuka/Kari Sane).  Jade Cargill looked like a million dollars coming into this match, Bianca Bel Air continues to be Mrs WrestleMania.

 

     WWE Intercontinental Championship Match Gunther (Champion) vs Sami Zayn.  Two future main eventers delivering one of the best IC Championship matches, Zayn the underdog topples the giant to become the 14th man to win the IC Title at WrestleMania.  2nd favourite of night 1.

  Cody Rhodes/Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns/The Final Boss The Rock.  A Main Event full of story and action that could of gone anywhere, Reigns speaering Rock starts the set up for their main event next year, Rock pinning Cody was the right call for night 2 to be more exciting and set up and match between them soon.

The Arcana HC's #11.1

I've been busy with school, my Gr11 finals are coming up, so I won't be around alot, and I'll only be taking requests at the end of November.

Vampyr AU where MC is a reknowned doctor who turned into a vampire after returing from the frontlines.

Nadia - Admiral

Julian - Doctor

Portia - Inn Keeper

Since Nazali got an invitation to a Doctor's Award Gala, the whole family came along as well, that's where she met you at the bar.

You met again in the medbay of the military when she had to bring her injured scouts to be fixed then again in Vesuvia when Nahara dragged her inside the hospital to get an injury checked.

She didn't believe Lucio or any of his fanatic followers when they spread the word about vampires, but started questioning that notion when you saved her and Nahara from a beast by draining it off its blood.

She is shocked by the revelation that one of the good doctors is now a blood-thirsty monster, but finds humour in the irony. She does, however decide to purchase vampire hunting equipment in case you ever decide to maker her your next meal.

She decides to help you and by proxy, Lucio, decrease the amount of rogue vampires by setting up trap systems then explaining the workings to you, so you can lure the beasts in.

She's had a crush on you ever since you saved her from bleeding to death, but she never acted on it, so with the encouragements of her family she decided to confess.

She decides the best way to confess is to take you to the hall of the gala where you first met but this time with a more personal & intimate touch.

She is so relieved that you both feel the same way and decides to kiss you gently before inviting you to go riding with her across the nearby fields.

Julian

He met you when you came to Nevivon to continue your research & you both quickly became close friends.

He reunites with you again when Portia calls him to get you, until he has to "save" you from being ambushed by a Skal while analysing a corpse.

He immediatley realises when he checks you for any injuries, that have now dissapeared, that your heart isn't beating but you're still continuing to explain a theory you have like any other day.

He tries to spend some of his free time studying you, by watching & taking notes on how you still cope as a doctor, or by (sometimes) secretly tagging along with you through the streets of Vesuvia to see your other Vampiric powers in action.

You both decided that your blood or other vampire's blood might help find a solution or cure for the plague, so he helps you examin the blood vials you bring from the creatures stalking the streets of Vesuvia.

He does get flirty for you but when you suddenly flirt back he stops functioning and starts questioning his true feelings for you and if he likes you more than a friend which causes Asra to tease him about it.

He decides that he's going to rent out Portia's inn so that he can confess, but makes sure Portia is around in case everything goes wrong.

You swear he was about to faint when you told him that you liked him romantically as well, you alsmost had to begin chest compressions and CPR, before he shook it off and invited you for dinner.

Portia

She met you when she had to say goodbye to Julian before he had to go to the frontlines.

You meet again when you stumble into her inn, looking quite disheveled and shocked, to which she offers some free drinks and information.

She overhears the word of your vampiric nature from an angry Lucio, a tipsy Asra and Julian, then finally decides to see it for herself. She's surprised that her more exagerating customers were correct.

Although she is a bit wary of you, she's not terribly afraid of you, she continues about her day as normal but she does take some reprocussions in case you go blood crazy.

Even with the plague, there are still horrible people on the streets that she tells you about since the police are either dead or incompetant, so she turns to you to get rid of them.

She realises that she likes when Julian brings up how much time you two spend together at the inn and that even the customers think you have something going on.

She decides to express her feelings towards you, over a private dinner and slowly loses her confidance in whether or not you would actually feel the same, but Julian reassures her.

She's over the moon when you tell her that you like her as well and kisses you and then invites you to spend the night with her.

Lucio

He encoutered you at Portia's inn after he came back from a long night's hunt and Portia quickly introduces you to each other.

He meets you again when he has to confront Julian about a recent vampire attack in the hospital.

The next time you met, he realised that you are a vampire but only reveals his knowledge on the matter since he can't kill you on neutral grounds.

Whenever you're not in the hospital he'll spend most of his time trying to hunt you down, sometimes almost succeeding until more problems arise.

During one of his patrols, he and his men get ambushed by lesser vampires and other beasts, he managed to hold his own for a while before you stepped in and irradicated the threats then proceeded to help him out. This just confused and angered him.

Ever since than the incidents where you help him and save him have become so frequent to the point he just stopped trying to kill you and decided to start a convienient alliance with you.

He realises that he has a crush on you when Nadia and Portia tell him that you're all he talks about and that he isn't even planning on ending you or anything of the sorts anymore.

He decides to make an attempt at figuring out whether or not you like him back before asking Julian what you would like and how to apologize about trying to kill you, over a nice picnic in the woods.

Absolutely shocked and flustered about you reciprocating his affections but tries to hide it with confidance but drops the obvious facade quickly when you kiss him and invite him to your estate.

I have serious writer's block & really couldn't figure out what to do with Asra & Muriel, and I really wanted to finish this, so maybe I'll write a second part to this.
