Selina's New Kittens

Once again. A new DPxDC idea/prompt.

Selina....

Selina wasn't expecting this when she decided to have some fun and do what she does best.

She just meant to sweet talk her way into Master's gala/party. Flirt and get info, maybe some blackmail. Steal away the rare cat themed artifact he had recently gotten (and also steal away his actual cat, such a lovely little diva it is too). then she was going to disappear into the night like always.

So...

Selina casted her eyes into the mirror of her car and could see the tiny children she had rescued from Master's hidden basement lab. All but one was asleep, the oldest out of them, although she seemed to be losing that fight from the way her head was falling forward, eyes closing but would jerk herself back awake when she realized she was falling asleep.

Curled up as hard and as much as they could towards the little redhead was three dark haired children, Selina mused that they'd fit right in with Bruce and his little bats/birds.

Two were near identical boys, though one seemed to be much paler than the other and if she remembered right one had red eyes and the other had blue, and the last one of the sleeping kids was a tiny toddler, a girl she heard was named 'Ellie' from the others.

Selina took note that the red head, Jazz, had finally fallen asleep a few minutes later. With a deep breath as she drove further and further away from that... that insane Fruitloop (she overheard the two boys call him that as they ran to her car) Master's place, she blindly reached for her phone and pressed a single digit on the screen, knowing it will connect to her car and call up the only person she can trust to help her with this.

"Selina." came the gravely voice after a single ring, sounds like she caught him on patrol but he seemed to be in a spot where he was okay to say her actual name over coms or she caught him before his night shift started.

"Hello Darling, I need your help with some kittens I found and to help me... Put away their terrible old owner."

That's all they had to get this right

But that's all they needed.

Rolin was right.

There is something really heavy in this scene.

Sam and Jacob have spent three years carrying these characters inside themselves. Hundred of late nights and dawns together (on and off set). Conversations, debates, meals shared, laughter and probably tears too.It's clearly been a journey for them, not just their characters.

But there's something else happening here too.

Eric saw it. He watched these actors go places others won't (or can't). Something challenging and authentic.

Even Eric (a veteran actor of 50+ years) said he's never been on a show like this, never pushed himself so far outside his comfort zone. But for this show, he's happy to do it because he knows he can trust them.

Eric nailed it when he spoke about the importance of trust and engaging with genuine emotions for both Jacob and Sam:

Jacob talks about Sam the same way,

This is why this feels so real.

Because it's true when Sam says:

And Jacob was only half joking when he said:

It's their complete trust in each other. It's their willingness to engage truthfully with painful emotions.

Shared grief and shared sorrow hurts, and Jacob and Sam aren't holding anything back. They feel safe going to places that are deeply painful and hard. Ugly and nasty. Full of regret and remorse. And genuine love.

This is why it feels so truthful in that moment.

This is why they only needed two takes.

I think that might actually be one of my favorite episodes 🤔

The fact that he was bluffing all the way and yet stood his ground even at the gunpoint when Minkowski was playing her safe version of russian roulette. He was ready to be shot but not back down. It was either he got his revenge or oblivion and escape from pain.

I was kind of lost on his behavior in the end but maybe, juuuuust maybe he's more suicidal after Maxwell's death than I thought.

both of my siblings have tumblrs and we all follow each other, even a few of our side blogs, but i have never told them about this one because i knew they'd judge me for it

today me and my siblings were in the living room and i didn't want to get up so i sent a post to my sibling and told them to open tumblr

a few seconds later they jumped up and yelled really loudly "who the hell is sisterdanielstits?"

keep in mind MY DAD IS STANDING IN THE ROOM WITH US

so i had to quickly start explaining things and backtracking like "IT'S A JOKE IN THE FANDOM! IT'S NOT AS BAD AS IT SOUNDS! IT'S A JOKE ACCOUNT! THE NAME'S A JOKE!"

dan dan dan. it is short for genesis (pronounced hen-esis if ur hispanic i found out years ago bc there was a mexican genesis n we were friends. anyways.) and your suggestion is absolutely DENIED. immediately. and i tell you why.

i have this neighbor called shirley. she's around the age of my grandmother, maybe older (late 70s, early 80s) and my god, she's the worst. she's crazy, she's odd, she's smug, and she's judgemental. so a lot like every old person but the thing is she has beef with MY family specifically. historical beef. passed from gen to gen wtv wtv and i tell her my name is genesis, has been telling her since the day i could... formulate words promptly and this woman keeps saying "gennifer" on purpose, i correct her each time and she's like "oh :] ahaha sorryy." in an old woman evil way. it makes me irate bc i have a weird thing for names n respect n yadadada you get the whole picture. i think it's bc when i was younger i used to throw rocks at her house with her backyard friends. young me made it very clear that i didn't like her/didn't like how she talked to my mama & gma. cuz they was beefing. so ig this is her revenge to me, being annoying towards me and the name 'gennifer' that follows it. at least her yard is pretty.

I don't know who Daniel and Alya are, I don't know if they've even talked before, but I think they should hook up because that'd be extremely funny to me and literally for no other reason.

I like your ways of chaos, anon. Alya doesn't deserve that, though, to be honest.
