TetZooCon 2024

I am back from the UK and what was the „final“ TetZooCon ever. As every year before it was two great days of talking with fellow natural history enthusiasts, bleeding my wallet at stalls of awesome art and literature and of course some fascinating presentations.

The actual convention was then followed by a three day trip, the tetzootour, stopping at the Horniman Museum for Luis Rey‘s „Dinosaur rEvolution“, Lyme Regis for fossil hunting and Howletts Wild Animal Park.

Preparations are underway for TetZooCon 2024 in London next weekend! I’ll take part in the art exhibition. See you there 😊

Continuing with 2016 and the TetZooCon theme, here are some photos from the TetZooCon 2016 palaeoart workshop. After I talked about reconstructing Psittacosaurus, the attendees sculpted their own psittacosaurs. Choosing the winner was tricky!

Three new Eocene birds, Sulcitarsus aenigmatus, Xenavicula pamelae, and ?Masillatrogon incertus, have been described in Neues Jahrbuch für Geologie und Paläontologie. As I am currently busy traveling to TetZooCon, I will write entries for them when I return from the convention.

These are my Ravensden wolfs! Little wolf on the left was from the Natural History Museum London last December (Tetzoocon!). I also saw the wolf on the right at London Zoo the same trip and regretted not getting him - they were out of stock for ages and I picked him up in October online. He's a London Zoo exclusive. In the middle is the Ravensden Suma wolf, which uses the same pattern as the London Zoo wolf but is less fluffy!

They make a great family!

I recently had my first ever experience of selling plushies in person at TetZooCon! I shared a table with Palaeoplushies, since I only had a moderate sized batch of my own to sell. Was lots of fun! Actually getting to see people enjoying their new plushies and carrying them around for the rest of the event was incredibly enriching!!
