Wait...
so the reason Rhodey was played by Terrance Howard in the first Iron Man movie and Don Cheadle after that point was because he was replaced by a Skrull? Is that what I'm supposed to understand?

Remembering A Hardcore Legend: Celebrating The Life And Career of Terry Funk
Today is the one year anniversary of the passing of the legendary Terry Funk. I hope this article helps you all understand who he was and why he is important to wrestling.
Terrance ‘ Terry’ Dee Funk was born to Dorothy and Dory Funk Sr. on June 30, 1944 in Hammond, Indiana . He had an older brother , Dory Funk Jr. the Funk family soon moved to Texas during the end of World War II. Terry and Dory spent their childhood in the wrestling business as their father was a wrestling promoter. After high school, Terry attended college at West Texas A & M University, where he was also an athlete. He was on the football team and on the amateur wrestling team.
Terry Funk had a career which took place for half of a century ( 50 years ) . He was also known for the hardcore style of wrestling , which he is considered one of the pioneers for . His career began in 1965 at his father ‘s wrestling promotion , Western States Sports out of Amarillo , Texas. He became the NWA World Heavyweight Champion in 1975 after replacing his brother , Dory, who was set to face Jack Brisco for the championship. Dory never showed up to the promotion for the match. He also had a rivalry with ‘ The American Dream ’ Dusty Rhodes , with Funk coining the catchphrase, ‘ Dusty Sucks Eggs ’ . He also spent part of his career in Japan in the promotion, All Japan Pro Wrestling ( AJPW ). This was from 1972 to 1991.
Funk soon found his way to World Wrestling Federation from 1985 to 1986. He also had a stint in World Championship Wrestling ( WCW ) from 1989 to 1990 and again in 1994 . He returned to Japan in 1994 as a part of the International Wrestling Association of Japan ( IWA). He participated in the King of The Death Match Tournament in 1995. He would also have a stint in Extreme Championship Wrestling ( ECW ) from 1993 to 1997. He would have rivalries with stars such as Cactus Jack ( Mick Foley ) , Raven, Stevie Richards, Sabu, and his protege , Tommy Dreamer. He was even ECW World Heavyweight Champion before losing the championship to Sabu during a Barbed Wire Match at Born To Be Wired in 1997. Funk would soon find his way back to the WWF in 1997.
Terry Funk would be a surprise entrant in the 1997 WWF Royal Rumble at number 24. He was in the match for 15 minutes and 18 seconds until being eliminated by Mankind ( Mick Foley ). He had a short retirement before returning to the company in December of the same year to become tag team partners with Mick Foley. He adopted the gimmick , ‘ Chainsaw Charlie ’. He would also form a tag time with 2 Cold Scorpio during his time in WWF as well. He would return to ECW in 1998 and had a rivalry with Tommy Dreamer before a second retirement in 1999. Funk would return to WCW in 2000. He make appearances in Ring Of Honor , Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and Major League Wrestling. He would also spend time on the Independent Wrestling circuit before making a few more appearances in the WWE. Terry alongside his brother , Dory , would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009 by Dusty Rhodes. However , Terry would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a solo wrestler by Mick Foley . In 2016, Funk was seen at Wrestlemania 32 giving advice to Dean Ambrose ( Jon Moxley ) , before his match against Brock Lesnar, which was a No Holds Barred Street Fight. Funk gifted Ambrose a chainsaw as a nod to his Chainsaw Charlie gimmick . He would return to the Indie scene the same year .
Terry Funk passed away at the age of 79 in Phoenix , Arizona. On the August 25 edition of Friday Night Smackdown , the WWE paid tribute Funk and Bray Wyatt , who passed away the next day. Thus , in honor of Funk , ‘ The American Nightmare ’ Cody Rhodes , came down to the ring and announced a Terry Funk Memorial Hardcore Tag Team match with the participants being The Street Profits and The Brawling Brutes.
Wrestlers such as Mick Foley , Tommy Dreamer, Eddie Kingston , and Jon Moxley have all credited Funk for influencing their careers. Bret Hart has also praised him for being one of the greatest in ring performers.
My Final Thoughts:
There will never be another Terry Funk. If it was wasn’t for him being so influential in hardcore wrestling , I think that we wouldn’t have promotions such as Game Changer Wrestling ( GCW ) , which is known for deathmatch wrestling and I don’t think hardcore wrestling would be popular . Terry Funk was one of those wrestlers who influenced almost everyone . Watching his matches on the internet and on Peacock, makes me wish I could go back in time and watch live . He is a reason why I love Deathmatch and Hardcore Wrestling. Long Live The Funker! Go watch a Terry Funk match if you haven’t ! You’ll be amazed!
1944-2023
Love You All,
- Kay

“i won’t stop until you let me take care of you!” “alright fine! fine! you can!”
The Halstead Sisters
Tumblr media
So this was not a prompt I was expecting to get, but I hope you enjoy it anon! Set way, way into the future of It Was a One Night Stand Until I Woke Up Next to You with Jay and Kim's daughters. In this universe, Kim still adopts Makayla, but with Jay instead of Ruzek.
Tumblr media
“Mom would say you’re acting like Dad.” Makayla sang into Penny’s ear, trying to ease her sister’s rigidness as she helped her little sister walk into the ED of Chicago Med. She waved a little at the head of the hospital, Mrs. Lockwood before she lowered Penny into a wheelchair. “Honestly Detective Penny Halstead, you dodge bullets for a living and you're scared to go to the doctor? When Uncle Will and I are both doctors?”
“Dr. Ward?” Even though Mak’s name had been officially changed to Ward-Halstead when Mom and Dad had adopted her, (Honestly, she couldn’t remember much of her childhood before that except for the odd night terror that still lingered in her subconscious. At least according to their head of psychiatry, Dr. Reese) she went by Dr. Ward at the hospital to keep the confusion down with her Uncle Will. She turned to see Mrs. Lockwood looking a little concerned. “Is your sister okay?”
“I’m okay Mrs. Lockwood. It’s just a little stomach ache. My big sister is just being overly cautious.” Penny assured Makayla’s boss, even though she was doubled over in pain in the wheelchair. Makayla rolled her eyes as she shook her head slightly.
“Eyes,” Penny scolded lightly, giving the perfect imitation of their mother before the charge nurse: Terrence Boden came to wheel her to a treatment room.
“Can you page one of the Dr. Rhodes? I can’t remember if it’s Reese or Lucas that’s on call tonight, but I think it’s possible appendicitis, but I couldn’t formally diagnose it.”
“Terrence, page Dr. Rhodes senior. Tell him it’s an emergency. If Dr. Ward’s diagnosis is correct, I want the hybrid OR prepped and ready to go just in case.”
“Got it,” Terrance nodded, handing Penny off to another nurse as he went to grab the ED phone. Makayla turned to her boss, “You think we can’t wait?”
Mrs. Lockwood pushed a greying lock of hair out of her eyes. Her hair had just started to grow back after her last round of chemo therapy. “I’ve learned with appendicitis cases, it’s best not to try and push it. Do you know how long she has been like this?”
“The person she had been seeing lately, called me a little while earlier. Said I might want to check on her, because Penny wasn’t listening to them about going to the hospital so I don’t know.”
“Best to air on the side of caution then.”

I want to see something about Steve meeting Rhodey's family, please🥺
Ooh. That will be something I'd write eventually.
I like having rhodey mom and sister still alive. Not a big family, some members aren't there.
Steve tapped at the suitcase, even as rhodes drove out of the state to the place his boyfriend grew up. As the tall buildings began to dwindle and change, the intensity of steve energy began to shake.
He wonder if he can back out. Maybe have taken Tony offer to come with them. The silence was killing steve as he wondered how to explain... well, 'Hi I'm steve rogers, I have done a lot of questionable things. Also, your son is amazing.'
He looked at hos phone, a text from buck about meeting them there later. Visiting Maria grave. Isn't that a doozy. Steve wonder if he has to meet rhodes father. How would his father and mother take to rhodes dating him? Would they be painfully polite? Would they disapprove? What if they disown rhodey? Steve could jump out the car and sprint it to a train station. Hide away and wait till the desire to meet the family died off.
He met Tony! That was enough fami-
"Blondie, breath."
Wheeeeze.
Steve looked over, at a corner store, rhode smiled. Even with the colonel body looking calm, he can see the nervous energy in those chocolate eyes, "Jim," Steve rubbed at his face, "what if they hate me?"
"Then they hate you," rhodey leaned back showing a bag of pretzels, "it won't change this though, as much as that would suck not to see eye with them."
Oh. Steve wonders if this is karma for the shit he pulled during-
"Hey," Rhodes hand was on his cheek, rubbing his half-assed attempt at shaving before leaving, "It'll be fine. I'm an adult. You are. We both made mistakes. My mom, like most moms are protective. I'd be sweating bullets meeting your mom. The war machine, steven," Steve chuffed with laughter as rhodey grinned. Even if his mom would call him Steven, Steve wasn't sure if rhodes mom would like him.
Even with their small talk, Steve barely felt calm. Even when James open the door for him (huh, that was new), Steve didn't want to move. There was about two cars in the drive way besides rhodey. Even as rhodey knocked and opened the door. The sounds of music and laughter. Steve prayed that Tony comes so he can hide away.
"Boyfriend? Where?" It was teasing.
"Jeannie."
Rhodes looked around, back to steve who stood stalked still. Before he can move, he heard his mom strong but kind voice, "Jim, baby, why is that boy standing out there? Deer in the headlights."
Rhodey fondly kept his eye roll away, kissed his mom cheek, "he is nervous." Even as he said that, the pilot went over, grabbed the captain hand and took slow steps. Rubbing his thumb into the back of the hand.
The tall blonde swallowed as he approached closer. Bad guys, corrupt people, hell an angry cat, he can deal with but this, he wanted to melt away. Seeing Mrs rhodes, Tony fondly called her mama rhodes, rhodey little sister, dressed semi formal. It was a lot.
He held out his hand knowing his palm was shaking and wet, "hiimsteebrogersnicetomeetyou!"
Mrs rhodes blinked once, looked to rhodey then back to him. Rhodey rubbed at his back as she spoke, "I see why my son said you are a tall one." It was a tease, a faint pull of a smile, "come on, the chill."
Meeting his mom was a whirlwind. His sister was a lawyer, debating ethics with rhodey who was trying to get a raise out of her. There was a cousin or two, but he knows they were wary, a slow mumble of a 'white boy and being a danger'. Rhodey face must of said something, he went a spiel about wanting to upturn the entire government.
That is how he learned his father, Terrance, passed on. How he wouldn't even be proud what the hell was going on. There was a side to rhodey he was seeing in the flesh. Professional mask off. It became even more apparent as Tony bounced in, tackled the man, causing a rough house match to happen.
Bucky mingling with, rhodey aunt Steve believes. Even small. There was a lot.
Feeling a tap at his shoulder, steve looked over seeing Mrs rhodes in the kitchen. Food simmering. Going over, he swallowed. Impending shovel talk?
Impending talk about he isn't good for her son?
What?
"Now," she began eyes distant before they are here again, "my son, he is a stubborn man. Loyal. He can be insecure. When he told me he has a boyfriend, he was quick to jump to the conclusion I'd disapprove. He is intelligent but he is also crazy like his father. Crazy with love. Family. Duty. I'm sure you will or do know this."
He does. Funny. Quick to protect. A slow rage that can build behind the calm. Calculating. Handsome. Strong. Not bottle Strong.
Mrs rhodes sighed with a smile holding a spoon, dipping into some broth, passing it on to him. Steve held it in surprise, before taking a sip, "Take care of him for me? We need all the help we can get."
Blushing, Steve nodded, "its good, the broth and yes ma'am." He held the spoon. Mrs rhodes gave a smile, shooing him off to enjoy the game being set up. "Anthony."
"I'm coming mama rhodes!"
Steve felt his face hot, the warm hand in his neck, "you good blondie?"
"I'm good," he looked at his cards, even as Jeannie chuckled about blondie, a finger showing to her from rhodes, "the broth is good."
Something about her letting him try food being a sign of good faith. Steve wasn't going to jinx it, he was going swim in it.
[I can keep going on. Meeting the family is so great. Rhodey family revealing all the secrets to steve later]

It’s been a few days for me to collect my thoughts on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Bearing in mind that I was lukewarm on the first film—didn’t hate it, nor did I think it was the best at the time. Maybe that could change if I watched it again. That all being said, I found the sequel to be good overall. It does have its share of issues which are typical of most MCU films, such as the third act.
Without spoiling anything specific, I will say that Angela Bassett and Tenoch Huerta were the highlights of the film. Bassett’s presence dominated most scenes she was in, and Huerta’s Namor was handled well given the changes made to the character. Of which I have no qualms about because what mattered to me most is that they nailed his arrogance and apathy toward the surface world. The amount of culture on display for Namor’s people is beautifully rendered. Even how the VFX department made him having winged ankles became something of an art in the ways they choreographed his movements.
By the end of the film, I couldn’t help but imagine how the movie would have played out had Chadwick Boseman not passed away. Which isn’t to say that I believe the role should have been given to another actor. Conversely, I don’t think it should ever be considered. The way I view it, Boseman made that role his just as RDJ made Tony Stark his, or Chris Evans with Steve Rogers. The only actual outlier in this discussion would be going from Terrance Howard to Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, but that was a whole different set of circumstances which pale in comparison to that of an actor passing away. And even then, I couldn’t imagine someone replacement Cheadle since his first appearance in the role cemented it for me, personally.
That long digression aside, Wakanda Forever is a good film with some faults. Would recommend.

I’m having many thoughts about the Rhodes family and the friendship they could have with Tony. Tony coming over to see how Roberta and Terrance are doing when the news is covering a war Rhodey is in, letting Roberta teach him how to cook and letting Terrance teach him how to fix cars.... Jeanette calling Tony during that period of time where Rhodey and Jeanette were fighting, because Tony was an addict too and he gets some parts of it better than anyone... Lila and Tony doing science together, Tony turning a blind eye to Lila messing with the suit like Rhodey never does, because he’s the Cool Uncle™.... Tony telling the family to relax, everything will be fine, Rhodey will be fine and while they do he’ll take care of everything in the hospital... Tony not being a replacement for Rhodey during all those times he’s away, but being a good way to ease the longing the family feels for him.
