It would be extremely funny if the ultimate human solution to the Ork problem in 40k was for humans to just start eating them en masse. Fuck "corpse starch", making sure the orks know that now humans are eating them for sustenance and making cuisine out of Ork flesh would be the most incredibly demoralizing thing, I imagine. Just look the raw rage and fervor of the orks right in the eye and say without a hint of fear "my god you would be delicious with honey mustard and a slow roasting over the course of hours". Propaganda posters of imperial guardsmen grinning and cheering with their faces stuffed with stewed Ork meat.

What are some common Catalan nicknames/do you have any good references for looking up what the nickname for a particular name is? I've been wondering this for a while and your answer about ONA made me realize there were a lot that I still don't know about.

Here are some common nicknames:

For female names:

Meritxell -> Txell

Josefina -> Fina, Fineta

Josepa -> Pepa, Pepeta

Mariona -> Ona. Mariona itself is the diminutive (affectionate form) of Maria.

Elisabet -> Bet

Isabel -> Bel

Concepció or Assumpció -> Ció/Sió

Cecília -> Cília, Cila

Montserrat -> traditionally was Tat, Rat, Rateta (from Montserrateta) or Tona (Montserratona), but nowadays the most common by far is Montse, followed by some distance by Muntsa. This is a recent change (1940s) because it's a direct translation of the Spanish way of shortening names (with the first part of the word, opposite of Catalan which shortens with the last part).

Antònia -> Tona, Toneta

Caterina, Catalina or Carolina -> Lina

Genoveva -> Veva

Francesca -> Cesca, Xesca, Cisca, Xisca, Xeca

Cristina or Agustina -> Tina, Tineta. Nowadays Cristina among young people because of Spanish influence is more commonly shortened to Cris.

Magdalena -> Lena, Malena. Nowadays because of Spanish influence it's most common to hear Magda.

Maria Isabel -> Maribel

Teresa -> Tesa. Nowadays because of Spanish influence you can also hear Tere.

Margarida -> Lida, Guida, Rita. Nowadays because of Spanish influence it's most common to hear Marga, though Rita remains very common.

Anna Maria -> Mia, Ia.

Elionora -> Nora

Misericòrdia -> Coia, Cori

Georgina -> Gina

Carmina (itself a diminutive of Carme) -> Mina

Beatriu -> Triu. Nowadays because of Spanish influence you can also hear Bea, though Triu is still common.

You mentioned in your post about Donnie’s mystic connection to shelldon and terra that, in theory, if Donnie got a better grasp on his mystic powers, he could speak to shelldon.

I have to ask, how does shelldon feel about terra? Does he feel replaced, jealous, or is he perfectly fine with them?

On the contrary, Shelldon is more upset that Donnie didn’t get around to building her when he was still around. I love the idea of him actually begging for a little sibling of sorts at some point.

I think he wouldn’t feel replaced bc he knows what Donnie is feeling after he’s gone. If he really wanted to replace Shelldon, he would have tried to rebuild an exact copy of him.

Who knows, maybe he and Terra will get a chance to meet too some day💜

Yeah I'll never be normal about him either like. All he really wanted was to do good and impress his dad and protect his friends. And instead he got his body stolen and he was trapped in servitude to the guy that stole his body for twelve years.

AND. His very existence was split into three parts???? He was literally torn into the three foundational components of a person. Nobody else in the series has been torn apart that thoroughly. Like yeah other people made nobodies and heartless but Terra's will was ripped out of him so hard it became it's own dude. (I love the Lingering Will and I could create an entire presentation arguing for it's personhood but that's neither here nor there. Ask me about it sometime tho) His nobody wasn't even really his, Xemnas is more Xehanort's. So all that really gets left behind is his heart and mind, in separate parts, because again, Xehanort stole his body.

It fucks me up just how much he suffered. Especially because he's only like, 20, and I'M gonna be 20. I can't imagine myself in his shoes. On paper 20 sounds old especially for kh protagonists but. No that's young. Of course he made mistakes or did stupid things, so would I! And he doesn't have the benefit of being an outside observer to the narrative!!!! He was raised very sheltered and had no reason not to be just as trusting as Aqua and Ven, he just kept being handed the wrong people. And Xehanort was his master/father figure's old friend, who Eraqus clearly thought very highly of still, so of course he doesn't find him suspicious.

He's so. I love him. Something about him hit me like a truck and I haven't been normal since.
