I need a filipino Morticia Adams remake featuring this dress. OMG can you imagine??
Tumblr media
A photograph circa 1930s in postcard format from the collection of Maria Lopez Ramirez shows an unidentified Filipina wearing a Terno “that illustrated the influence of surrealism, with giant spiderwebs emblazoned on the sleeve, pañuelo, and skirt, accented with spiders at the center.”

This is a colourization and digital restoration of a Filipino woman in the 1900s. She is wearing a Terno gown. I literally have no information on the original b+w. I got it on Pinterest.

2nd half of the dare. I get to draw these girls this time. From the 'Thea Stilton' spin-off series. I really like these girls, and their books, despite me being a guy. Wouldn't lie if I said I'm kinda attracted to one of them. Not saying who. So yeah, for this half, I get to draw these girls if they were wearing some fashionable Filipiniana styles. Maybe they're at the Philippines for a formal event or a fiesta. And maybe they'll have an adventure there as well. Like the previous pic, designing these were hard. But I suppose I managed to make the best of it. And yes, I used a photo for the bg this time. Because I get to be lazy on that end for once. Hope you guys like!

Ana Cruz Kayne at the world premiere of Barbie, in Los Angeles
Wearing a traditional Filipino terno top, designed by Filipino fashion designer Dennis Lustico. Worn with a Hervé Leger metallic fringe gown.
Styled by PJ Pascual:
'Celebrating her Filipino American heritage, Ana Cruz Kayne and I collaborated on an ensemble where the East meets the West. Her custom made beaded butterfly sleeve top represents the Philippines. On the other hand, the fringe dress represents her American roots. Lastly, Pink is Barbie.' X

Wore the barong filipiniana I made out to a local Artisan Market, met so many cool Filipino makers and finally got to eat at a Filipino pop up I've been chasing for ages now! I'm so thrilled puff sleeves are back in I'm gonna make the casual terno/butterfly sleeve a THING
