Boy, the Tenchi Muyo! franchise sure is exhausting, isn't it? We had the OVAs, Tenchi Universe, the movies, Tenchi in Tokyo, GXP, War on Geminar, Ai Tenchi Muyo, the Pretty Sammy subfranchise, and related stuff like Photon and Dual. It's a lot to deal with. And much like with Lupin III, a lot of it is trash. But Lupin has several entries that hold up really well, which is more than I can say about Tenchi, which at its best is decent at the most. So, I think I'm probably going to wrap up my Tenchi coverage with the three movies: Tenchi in Love, Daughter of Darkness, and Tenchi Forever. They're not great, but they're not terrible either. Well, Daughter of Darkness is terrible.
In the world of the bookend material, it seems my intrusion into real world problems has me being chided by a colleague and a superior alike. But hey, you can't just unthinkingly capitulate to a madman with the power to overtake entire countries. You better do something before things get too out of hand to do anything. Especially when you have the power to do something.
And yeah, Edmund Burke probably never said that.

Thoughts on Lady Seto
I want more information on what happened to Seto's saaphic harem and if Mihoshi's aunt Mikami was once apart of it. Seto/Naja having a harem of women makes sense to me due to me thinking that Naja's feelings for Washu weren't just that of a best friend. perhaps Seto is planning on returning to her girls once Yosho's survival is finally revealed to everyone, Tenchi ascends, her plans succeed and she no longer has to play the political role.
I remember reading once that Seto's, or rather Naja's (both?) grandest scheme/ultimate goal is the unification of the galaxies and to me, this would make sense-I believe that Naja, same as Kagato, paralleling how Kagato is a male clone of sorts of Naja, is in search of the Unified Field Theory/Grand Unified Theory same as he was, though of course Kagato's means were more nefarious and Seto hopes that through the unification of families, lovers, and loved ones-in the forms of these "marriages" she arranges (that almost always never work out as I believe someone in the Masaki village commented on during OVA 4) hold a truer goal of the harems that result from her schemes being units of great power centering and focusing their energies on one factor of a special vibration (Tenchi, Seina, Kenshi, Azusa, herself)-love will unveil the unified field and ultimately, fulfill the Chousin's purpose, ie: the metaphysical reunification of the lower vibrations with the higher ones, return to God, heaven, etc. (Hence one of the meanings of Tenchi Muyo- "This Side Up!")
"No Need for Heaven and Earth" because it's all unified, it's all one and Seto/Naja's actual goal, other than throwing stones to see how big the ripples are in the water as Sasami says, is to make so much love in the Universe through the unification of House Masaki with House Tatsuki, Kamiki, and Amame; plus Seina's union with his girls with their lineage and statuses and whatever she sent him to do in Paradise War; plus Tenchi's union with Mihoshi, Washu, and Ryoko; plus the factor of Kenshi being the multidimensional halfling prophesied to save Geminar and his union with the girls over there -- to ultimately break the seal on the higher dimensions and allow the unified field/God to reveal itself, as is the quest of the Chousin or rather Tenchi himself-he is the manifestation of the Akashic Record apparently, so he has purposed for love to be the way back to the astral sea.
The unification theory also makes me appreciate the 'it takes a village' theme that surrounds Kenshi's upbringing. He's a result of pretty much all of the madness that Kami Tenchi brought together. As well as how the universe that resulted from the two parallel words of Dual! combining at the end of the series is Tenchi's universe; the dual characters being reincarnated as GXP characters, oooh and the theory that Tokimi took Z's soul/astral pattern and reincarnated him into Kenshi (her being in the Kami section at Nobu and Rea's wedding, her being so involved in the Geminar scenario)

Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari
(Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar)
Mysteriously teleported from Earth, Kenshi Masaki finds himself ensnared by a mysterious organization in a world called Geminar, where male mecha pilots are extremely rare. With the promise of returning home, the 15 year-old agrees to pilot a mecha suit called a Sacred Mechanoid and assassinate the ruler of the Shtrayu Empire, Lashara Earth XVIII. However, things do not go according to plan, and Kenshi finds himself prisoner and an object of scrutiny by Lashara and her shipmates. After learning of Kenshi’s plight, Lashara offers him the chance to redeem himself by entering her employ. He will act as her servant, practically a slave, but also have a chance to once more pilot a mecha suit. Kenshi is willing to endure Geminar’s eccentricities if it means he may return home, but will he ever be able to do so? And what of this mysterious organization that brought him to Geminar to try to kill Lashara?

Information on the origins of Tenchi Muyo! is revealed!
Original post
For the better part of three decades, co-creator of Tenchi Muyo!, Masaki Kajishima, has held fast to the claim that Tenchi Muyo! was “all in his head since high school.” However, for Comiket 100, interesting information has come out shedding light on what the origins of this juggernaut franchise actually are.
For the forthcoming Comiket, Kajishima will be releasing a redone version of his doujin The Night Before the Carnival: Heisei Edition 1, which released at Comiket 54 on August 16th, 1998. Released with brand new commentary, this new doujin is called The Night Before the Carnival: Original Edition 22.08.

Heisei Edition 1 – 1998 & Original Edition 22.08 – 2022
Across both doujins, we are introduced to characters “Masaki” (featured in red, said to be the daughter of the first emperor of Jurai), a blue haired character named “Lashara Moon” (A name reused in Photon: The Idiot Adventures), a character named “Lyon”, and probably the most recognizable character named “Koro-chan” (a Ryo-Ohki lookalike who is half cute cuddly character and half dragon, it’s name being used as cute creatures in Photon, as well as Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar). The character can also transform much as Ryo-Ohki would, and can use an ability called “Ghost” which lets him permeate matter (aka phase through walls). Sound familiar?

Masaki
Also of note, is that there is a young beast female character who is referred to as “Humanoid Ryo-san”. It is also implied that a female beast character can quickly mature and mate, a concept that Kajishima has apparently been wanting to do for a long time…

Koro-chan concepts and Lyon
“The story centers on the common inheritance-related troubles of aristocratic daughters who are running away from pursuers aiming to assassinate them. The protagonists are caught in the middle of the action, and as they run for their lives, they become completely savage.”
As mentioned in the doujin, these images were being made 10 years prior to the doujin’s original 1998 release, with the Lashara piece showing a date of June 16th, 1989, true to the “Heisei” part of its name.

Lashara Moon and Humanoid Ryo-san
Despite Kajishima’s claims to the contrary, this new information of his actually corroborates what Hayashi said in an interview from 1994, that Tenchi Muyo! was nothing more than “idle discussion” between himself and Kajishima in ’90, and gives us an interesting view into some of the ideas Kajishima cannibalized from this to use later in Tenchi and beyond.
One year after these concepts were drawn, a job working on AIC’s Iczer-3, and merging his ideas with Hayashi’s and others’, and Tenchi Muyo! as we know it was born.
