Okay so this will probably be the only drawing that's digital because the only reason I drew her digitally is because 1. I drew her originally on paper and cried when the lineart was so bad and 2. I was too busy drawing with my friends so I decided to draw her as well !! Also ignore any mistakes,, cuz I drew this on my computer which I NEVER do

My redesigns of the yansim 80's mode rivals part 8: teiko nabatasai (TW implied SA)

In my version: teiko has constant pressure pushed onto her for being the smartest girl in akademi high (not to mention the daughter of two of the most beautiful people in japan), she's sort of a burnt-out gifted kid in that regard. One day she decided to visit an old abandoned house as she heard it was a popular "test of courage" and she unfortunately became another victim of the evil photographer. Tbh this IS practically canon considering teiko said she was tired of being perfect in her befriending route but i wanted to make that more apparent in my version

In my au, Iwao (a student of the 80s regime) is the father of Midori (a former insect pillar) and the best friend of the previous plant pillar Hozumi (a student of the 80s), as well as the guardian for Uekiya (the current plant pillar). He himself has a weak respiration of plants.

He saved the girls from the tyrant's father, but later he could not help Teiko and she died at the hands of her demon-turned husband. Small Uekiya after the incident decided to become slayer

My opinions on each 1980's Mode Rival :) (based off the canon route)

Sumire Saitozaki: I kinda wish she wasn't the tutorial rival, like ik that she is bc plot, but still. I would've loved to have a week with her.

Kaguya Wakaizumi: I think she’s very cute, I love her design! I felt bad for doing the canon elimination, though.

Moeko Rakuyona: She’s alright. I think the pyromaniac thing is interesting, I wish there was an alternate fire-related elimination. I don’t know how it’d be done, but that would be cool. Maybe she gets framed for setting something or someone on fire.

Honami Hodoshima: She’s very forgettable. I just got the rainbow girls out of the library, crushed her, then cleaned up the blood and put her in the bag. It was too easy tbh. At least matchmaking takes effort and burning takes patience. 

Sumiko Tachibana: I think she’s ok. Not much to say really. Her elimination was kind of tedious but that makes sense.

Ritsuko Chikanari: I hate her so much. She didn’t do anything, but the way she walks, talks and even her elimination method makes me so angry. Least favorite rival out of all of them (even 202X).

Ai Doruyashi: I feel bad for her tbh, I wish her elimination method was a non-lethal one. I wanted to see her around the school after her week. I also love her song, it’s like genuinely a banger.

Teiko Nabatasai: She’s pretty. And that’s it.

Komako Funakoshi: She’s so pretty, I would’ve loved to matchmake her, she’d be so cute with Bunzo.

Chigusa Busujima: Honestly wish she had the gossip or expulsion elimination. I just don’t like her.

Sonoko Sakanoue: She’s kind of annoying, but I don’t like her mechanic in general. (Student council type, turning around when you’re just walking yk)

In general, I think they’re a solid group of rivals. I defiently like them better than the 202X mode ones.

Komai Nabatasai is the eldest daughter of Teiko Nabatasai & Komako Funakoshi. She is in class 2-2, and aside from Megami she's the smartest girl in school and top student, and has a very good reputation. She's also the Communications Liaison of the student council. Komai constantly helps out teachers for the council. When she is not helping the teachers, she is patrolling all of the classrooms, and bathrooms. As her mothers once went to Akademi and had horrible experiences, due to this she is extremely paranoid and is always on high alert.

Some of her secrets are that she is one of Info-Chan's informants, and she is dating Shiromi. However, Komai does not give any information to Info-chan about Shiromi or any of the council. She agreed to become an informant for Info-chan so she could protect herself and her little brother from the fate their mothers had.
