Dr Kry drabble: having a nightmare (as a doctor/husband)

As a doctor

You pick up the phone connected to the wall with a shaking hand. The phone is connected to one other phone in the hospital: Kry's. He has always said that you can call him at any time of the day when he's not there if you need him. This is the first time you take advantage of his offer. It takes a few seconds for him to answer. You must have awoken him, you think and sigh. You know that he sleeps less than a man his age should, maybe you should try to go back to bed?

"What's wrong, Y/N?" you hear his voice ask, newly awoken and raspy.

"I dreamt a nightmare", you say and want to hit yourself for being a wuss.

"I will come up in a second."

He hangs up. You know that it takes him approximately seven minutes for him to get to your room from the staff's bedroom. You wait for him until he comes in, looking tired. Your first instinct is to apologize, but he's quicker.

"Are you okay?" he asks, sits down on his rolling stool and rolls over to the bed. He took your hand. "What did you dream about? Can you tell me?"

"I-I dreamt that I was dying, that- ... that I was being cut open on a surgical table", you whisper in a shaky voice."

"That sounds unpleasent indeed, I'm sorry-"

"I-I was calling for you."

"You were?"

Your eyes fill with tears. "You weren't there."

Dr Kry takes both of your hands in his, licking his lips nervously.

"I'm sorry, Y/N", he apologizes, even though it isn't his fault. "I'm sorry you had to experience that alone. You know that I would never let that happen. I'll always protect you. No one will be cutting in you as long as I am here."

You give him a small smile. Dr Kry smiles warmly.

"Don't worry, I'll sit here by your side and hold your hand until you fall asleep again, I won't leave your side for even a second. If you want, could I tell you a story?"

You nod.

"Yeah?" he smiles. "Perfect, just lay back, relax and squeeze my hand and I'll take you away to dreamland."

As a husband

You open your eyes and take a deep breath. You can feel him move beside you. His hands grab at your shoulders ever so carefully to turn you to him.

"Are you alright, dear?" he asks carefully and helps you sit up, putting a pillow behind your back. "Did you have a nightmare, again?"

You nod. After finding out that he was poisoning you and was, in fact, not the heroic doctor you looked up to, things have been odd.

"I can't stop thinking about what happened at the hospital", you whisper and lower your eyes. "I dreamt that I couldn't breathe ... and that I couldn't use my limbs ..."

He caresses your cheek, forcing you to look at his ice blue eyes.

"Everything is okay", he says firmly. "You are out of there. I will never do that to you again."

You feel your eyes water. He's lying, you know that. He might have stopped with his poisoned air purifier, but something is wrong. You're not well. He's still hurting you.

Dr Kry moves closer and hugs you, directing your face into his shoulder. He strokes your back, letting you cry in peace.

"My dearest", he whispers painfully. "Oh, it hurts me so to see you cry."

He moves back and wipes your teers with his thumbs.

"How about I make us some tea and get us something to eat?" he suggests.

You nod and sniffle. He lets you come with him down to the kitchen where he makes the two of you a sandwich and a cup of tea. When you're done, you go back upstairs. He stays up for the rest of the night to keep an eye on you where you sleep on his chest for the rest of the night.

Sanctuary, Pt. 4

Now. The Ancients. Let's do an excursus on them real quick.

There appears to be a strong sexual attraction between the Ancients, and to a lesser extent the people who hold the ATA gene. They feel drawn to each other and can feel this pull emanating from one another upon close proximity.

We are shown several times that Sheppard can feel the Ancients, he can recognize them based on their physical presence alone. Ancients and those still carrying the gene are instantly and powerfully attracted to him. He could also recognize that the replicators were not Ancients despite for all intents and purposes looking like them just based on their physical presence (they didn't feel "Ancient-y" to him). Ditto being able to clock the wraith among the Ancients in the virtual environment of Aurora (S02E09), because "There's something very odd about her." Even McKay with his artificial ATA gene can feel them:

McKay: I know I'm not normally Mr. Sensitive, but you've got to believe me when I say there is something about her. I know it's intangible, but I can feel it--*

This actually makes sense from an evolutionary stand-point.

There are "Four Great Races" in the SG universe. We know nothing of the Furlings. The Nox, given their reverence for nature, probably are DTF but because their life-spans are lengthened, it probably happens rarely. It would make sense for them to have mating cycles to keep their population under control but we have no information about this. Then there are Asgard. We know that they they evolved beyond sexual reproduction, actually becoming incapable of reproducing sexually. This lead to the destruction of their race through progressive attrition of their gene pool. And then there are the Ancients, the Alterans.

We know that the Ancients also evolved beyond their physical forms to beings of pure energy. But this didn't happen over night. It didn't happen in one generation.

In the episode Epiphany (S02E12), we meet people that are close to Ascension, close to evolving beyond their physical forms. They are not Ancients but as "those who came after", they are close enough. These people not only had and enjoyed sex but it seems like sex was one of the only pastimes that even slightly interested them beyond meditation anymore.

I'll argue later that Sheppard felt attraction toward both Avrid ("Then shouldn't he be the one bringing me breakfast?") and his sister Teer ("The woman teaching me how to meditate was… very attractive"), although he seems to not actively pursue women in general. Like he tells Teer, he never sees these things coming, with women. Sheppard most definitely had sex with both of them.

Now, this makes sense. If, as a species, your pursuit is to evolve into beings of pure energy and discard your physical bodies but this cannot be done in a single generation, there needs to be a strong sexual pull between members of this species. Otherwise they would, like the Asgard, die out for lack of sexual reproduction before reaching that goal. They need to feel sexual attraction toward each other, and it has to be pronounced to override their disinclination toward earthly pursuits.

There's a phenomenon called Genetic Sexual Attraction that exists in humans. It's an intense sexual attraction felt between people that are genetically close to one another (like siblings) that have not undergone the reverse sexual imprinting that usually takes place when peers are raised in close proximity. This reverse sexual imprinting can happen between children that are not genetically related to one another if they are raised together, and it seems to be missing between siblings that have been raised in separation. It's an unfortunate side-product of an assortative mating strategy in humans.

It would make sense for the Ancients to have evolved something of this nature to ascertain the survival of their species, which would keep members of the species too genetically close to one another from reproducing but to generally drive the people of their species to have a strong sexual attraction toward one another. This attraction would have to be strong enough to force them to mate and produce offspring despite a mental disinclination toward carnal pursuits.

The Ancients, whom we know dabbled in genetic manipulation, may even have reinforced this through scientific means, given that they were losing the war against wraith due to their diminishing numbers, being out-reproduced by the wraith. Further, the Alterans had also evolved to a state of physical beauty that humans frequently describe as "perfect". This beauty, this attractiveness, also contributes to the assortative mating strategy.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, but it could maybe be argued that the people carrying the ATA gene also do seem to be more attractive than average humans. Somehow even Joe Spencer of Citizen Joe had married a woman way beyond his pay-grade (and also, I'm not saying O'Neill was attracted to him but it's interesting that they cast Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson, as the guy with the Ancient connection to O'Neill).

We see several examples of strong sexual attraction between Ancients. Janus, we learn, had many lovers (there's an argument to be made that they were women and men).

Jackson: Several of Janus' peers suspected he had a "bastion of unfettered thought and experimentation" or -- as one of his lovers put it... McKay: He had lovers? Jackson: "...an isle of solitude within the city walls."

Orlin wanted Samantha Carter so badly that he was willing to give up his ascension. He wasn't in love with her in some pure platonic way, he wanted her.

People with the ATA gene seem to have somewhat of a lessened version of this. When McKay's body was occupied by someone that didn't consider Carson Beckett his best friend, she wanted him so badly that she basically sexually assaulted him (and once she was no longer in McKay's body, this attraction seems to have vanished).

Not saying McKay wants Beckett by any means, but that this genetic resonance exists between their bodies after he received the gene therapy. I'm also not saying that Sheppard wanted to bone Beckett, but he sure was drawn directly to Beckett in the Antarctic base, following the sound of his voice. And then there's Gen. O'Neill with his "if you can't give me a yes by the time we reach McMurdo, I don't even want you!" who has chemistry with everyone.

And finally, there's Sheppard and his "what is it with you and ascended women?" (and men, my guy), who attracted to himself both Arvid and Teer but also both Mara and Tavius, and even Harmony and her sisters (who possessed a diminishing ATA gene). These are all people who barely knew him but definitely wanted to bone him right at the offset.

Because he has an exceptionally strong ATA gene. Strongest we've seen in a human. It's not mere main character syndrome that these people are instantly attracted to him, and this would also explain this instant connection between him and Chaya Sar, especially from her side as she had not felt this kind of connection for 10,000 years. There are just way too many examples of this same exact thing for it to be a coincidence.**

So where does this leave Sheppard and McKay? Was Sheppard attracted to McKay before he got the ATA gene through gene therapy? It's impossible to say. Before he got the gene, we mainly see McKay being drawn toward Sheppard. We might be able to make a case for McKay having been attracted to Sheppard from the outset. Also the fact that Beckett is his best friend might suggest that he is drawn to people that carry the gene, although again, it might just be because they are attractive by design.

But as soon as the gene is activated in McKay, Sheppard is more and more pulled toward him. Sheppard physically gravitates toward him, and although McKay is wearing a personal shield at the time, Sheppard is comfortable being in his presence, touching him, manhandling him as soon as McKay has had the gene therapy. It's not proof but it is enough to speculate.

Would it matter if Sheppard's initial attraction would have been motivated by this? After all, that's not what sparked his interest in Rodney.

The thing is, all of this is just sexual attraction. It's a biological imperative. It's incentive, it's not fate.

Love is so much more than simple physical attraction and even by this time, we have seen what ever it is that exists between Sheppard and McKay develop into something much deeper than mere attraction, a mere physical pull. It may have started as attraction but it was through their deeds and sacrifices that the two of them started falling for the other. It was through getting to know one another, the good and the bad, through sharing experiences, of joy and fear and humour and anger, that they've started forging a genuine bond between them. And this is the lesson that the episode is building toward. We get to learn what it is that Sheppard so desperately needs. And we get to learn who he can find it in.

.* So let's assume for a moment that you're a Kinsey (5-)6. You've never felt genuine sexual attraction to the opposite sex. Performed it, yes, but not felt it spontaneously. Then you come across a member of the opposite sex you have every reason to dislike for personal, interpersonal, philosophical, ethical, religious, and other reasons. But you feel a strong sexual desire toward her, all out of the blue. That would be confusing to you. You wouldn't even know what to do with it. It would probably make you kind of nauseous. It would feel wrong. Yes, Rodney is clearly jealous, but it's not the only thing that is going on there. He hates her, literally, with a passion, from first sight.

.** So, like. McKay actually kind of does have a reason to worry about Sheppard and his sister given how he has historically fared with siblings but, like. As long as she doesn't have the gene therapy, you're fine.

"Mira, this is Teer, kwami of Sorrow, and they will be your kwami as you set off on your journey."

Teer opened her eyes as she was summoned into the world, peering at the one who held her Miraculous– her new holder.

"Your training has impressed many within the Order," Teer's eyes shifted from the holder to the Guardian that was speaking. She recognized him as the current Guardian on her Miracle Box, though she didn't know much about him. Guardians trained by the Order had never been social with the kwamis.

Besides, he would be dead in a few decades anyways, there was not a point in getting to know him.

"But most of all you have impressed me, which is why I am not only trusting you with a kwami from my box, but with an aspect of Emotion," the Guardian continued. "These powers are not to be taken lightly, or used outside of the threat you are facing. Unlike many abilities, those born from Emotion can affect many people, and you are not responsible for making sure Sorrow only touches those who threaten the world."

The Guardian seemed to be done with his speech, Mira bowing respectfully to him. "Don't worry, Master, your trust in me will not be misplaced." She then took the black handkerchief in her hand, the Miraculous of the Vulture, tying it around her wrist. Mira then looked at Teer, giving her a warm smile. "It's nice to meet you, I'm glad that I'll get the opportunity to work with you"

"It is not a thing to be glad about," Teer replied, drifting over to stand by her new holder's side. "If I am fortunate you will be a good holder who is truly a hero, but then I will only know you for a few years. If luck frowns on me then you will become corrupted and misuse these powers, tearing me from safety for decades to come. Either way this encounter will not end happy."

"Teer," her Guardian snapped. "You do not insinuate that a holder I have picked will turn against the Order!"

Mira on the other hand did not seem upset. "Well, I hope I can prove to you, Teer, that I will be a good partner."

Teer did not see how a good partner would be a good thing. Maybe many years ago it would have been, back when holders were lifelong companions, but those days were now painful memories since she had fallen into the Order's hands. Mira did not understand what being a good holder meant to a kwami, how they would only get a few years of the kindness and the thrill, before the Miraculous would be taken from them again, holder and kwami to no longer meet.

Life was a tragedy as a kwami of the Order.

Mira was a good holder.

She fought for good, fearlessly facing the threats the Order of the Guardians guided her to. She was good when it came to battle, defeating those who stood in her way. She was a good person, always kind to Teer, letting her roam within her home, and always having onions on hand for her to feast on.

Mira was a not only a good holder, but also a good friend.

Teer silently cried herself to sleep the night she realized that, tucked in the nook of Mira's neck. Teer had found a kind and valiant holder, and she would not be hers to keep. The Guardians would only let her hold a Miraculous for as long she were young and able to fight, which would not be for much longer. Mira was already a few decades old, and would only have a few more decades left of fighting years at most. And even if this limit wasn't set by the Guardians, humans did not even live for a century. It was a cruel fate, to have such a wonderful species to only lived for such a short moment.

Teer wiped her tears away as she laid there, carefully using her wings to comb at Mira's long black hair. Here she had a wonderful holder, but half of her life she'd spend sleeping like this. Now was a time they could have been together, more moments they could use to just be with one another, but this mortal form did not allow humans to do so.

She was going to lose Mira. To death, to the Order, or to battle. It did not matter how it would happen, this would all painfully end one day, and Teer hated it.

She loved this holder.

"I'm pregnant."

Teer looked at her holder, blinking, taking in this news. She was very aware that humans did carry their young inside them, but it had been a long time since she had encountered it in a holder, and she did not quite remember how she was supposed to react to this.

"So there is a young human inside of you?" Teer asked peering at her stomach, finding this so strange. Unifying with a holder or fellow kwami during transformation made sense, but being literally inside other being? How bizarre.

"Yes," Mira said, hesitating. "I haven't told the Guardian yet, and I probably can hide it for just a bit longer, but soon it will be obvious that I'm expecting. After that... I'm going to have to give up my Miraculous."

Teer had gone from curious moments before, to absolutely horrified with just those few words. Wide eyes stared up at her holder, tears forming as she processed what she was saying.

This couldn't be happening. Not now. Mira was a good holder, a strong fighter, she was supposed to have a Miraculous for many more years!

"The Order only allows childless women to be holders," Mira explained softly as Teer grabbed at her dress. "We must have no other duties to serve with the Order. Once they find out I will be ordered to give you back... and for that I'm sorry, Teer, I'm so sorry."

"No!" Teer cried, tears falling down her face. "No, no, no! You're not supposed to leave, not yet! The fight is still happening, you're supposed to be my holder still!"

Teer had been preparing for this day to happen, she had always known it was coming, but now... so soon... she thought she had longer!

"It's not yet," Mira said, scooping her out of the air, thumbs wiping across her face as tears fell. Mira was now crying as well, cradling Teer close. "A few more months."

A few months at most. Teer may not remember everything about young humans, but she knew they grew within their mothers quickly. She did not know how long Mira had been carrying this young one, but she knew it would grow, and it would show.

"Are you... okay ?" Teer asked, looking up at Mira. She could barely make out her holder's expression, tears blurring her sight. She could sense the Sorrow within the human, but she knew that humans felt many emotions at once.

"I'm excited for the child," Mira said softly. "But not for what I must do because of this. I... I do not wish to lose you Teer."

Teer clutched her human tightly, her chest feeling heavy. She had been prepared to lose this holder one day... but not like this. As for the young one growing within her, Teer did not know what to feel. It would be risky to feel anything for them, as she would never get to know this young human. She knew they existed... but like all other humans in her life, they would be taken from her before she could even meet them.

"Maybe one day my child will be your holder," Mira said softly, as if reading Teer's mind.

A possibility, yes, the Order often looked at families of past holders for those to pick in the future, but the possibility of such paths crossing was not worth putting stock in. To place hope into something only for it not to happen was just pain waiting to happen.

If Teer knew a way to make sure this child could be her holder, then perhaps she would hope. If she knew that she could see Mira again after this, then maybe she could find it in her heart to celebrate this child– but Teer could not. All she felt was this aching pain, potent and churning.

What was the point of having so much in her life if she was only going to lose it all?

Teer's wings tightened around Mira, eyes snapping open, and for a moment Teer's tears were dry. She sat there, clinging to her holder, a determination setting in.

She did not want to lose Mira yet.

"We could run," Teer whispered, looking up at her.

"What?" Mira stammered.

"We could run away from the Order," Teer said softly. "Then they could not take the Miraculous away. You would still be my holder, and one day your child could do the same."

A rare giddy feeling was bubbling up in Teer, the sudden hope flaring bright. Running from the Order would mean so much... it would mean departing from her Miracle Box, but it would also mean being with Mira for the rest of her life. It would mean being with this child for their whole life.

A holder from birth until death... a potential good hundred years with one she could love. It would end painfully, perhaps more so than with other holders... but a hundred years with a holder...

"The Order would not forgive us," Mira said softly. "They would hunt us down."

"Other kwamis have done it before."

"Is... is that what you want?" Mira asked quietly. "To come with me, to be away from the Order."

Teer felt their eyes grow wet, tears of joy forming. "More than anything."

The oldest of the three brothers.

He works at a loan office, where he is sent out to collect on payments from stubborn borrowers.

Half-skeleton, half-scarecrow. Considers himself a skeleton before a scarecrow, despite being made of cloth and straw.

Despises people.

He avoids Papyrus like the plague, and avoids ever mentioning family.

His only friends are whoever decides to play poker with him at the bar at any given night.

Doesn't have any happy, long-standing relationships-- romantic, platonic, or familial until he rediscovers Gaster at the beginning of the story.

Smokes, even though he is made of cloth and could very easily give himself more scorch marks than he already has.

Frisk

A little girl who wanders wherever her instincts take her and makes both a great deal of friends and a great deal of trouble for her parents.

Speaks in clown-nose-honk noises.

Often talks to her dad, the only person who can accurately decipher her speech, about her best friend, Flowey the flower.

Takes Flowey everywhere she goes and tries to feed him bits of what she's eating, even though he "can only feed off the cosmic energy of the infinite Multiverse and its complex fractal frequencies" …whatever that means.

Frisk often has sleepovers with her friend, Asriel, and his spunky sister, Undyne.

NPC'S: THE SUPERHERO WIVES / @theskyuniverse

Saraswati Danu "Sara" Goossens (nee Jindal) [J/ameela J/amil], formerly known as the hydrokinetic heroine Ganga, is now known for The Fabulous Lives of Superhero Wives as well as other guest appearances and bits on tv. After her husband had to hang up the cape for good, she did the same in solidarity and went hard in regards to supporting his acting career. On camera, she's a loving mom. Endlessly gushing. So, so proud. Behind the scenes, however, it's an entirely different story. Sara might not be an active superheroine anymore but that doesn't mean she doesn't know her element: she knows how to flow like water - she knows what to do and how to act to take control of the narrative.

Oksana Swink-Ashcroft [T/anja R/ibič] raised her kid in much the same way. Together with her high school sweetheart and husband Lenny, Oksana effectively took the reins in regards to her daughter and her daughter's career. Both of them are always thinking about the future and how to maximize their large capital. So far, she's heard no complains.

Kim Bonneau [S/arah R/afferty] is absolutely the fan favorite. Brought on as someone who specializes in non violent communication and de-escalation, she's often the therapist for the other superhero wives. Due to her actual job, she's also in the least amount of episodes. Kim herself isn't a fan of reality tv, but hey, the paycheck is a nice bonus from time to time.

Rebecca Teer [E/mma D/umont] is both the youngest of the wives and the most contrarian. If everyone says yes, she says no and vice versa. Everyone knows her story: a one night stand got her pregnant, she kept the kid, and now she's pregnant again with her husband's baby. Said husband also took her last name instead of the other way around.

Behind green eyes

I am an amateur ghost hunter so i and my friend John decided to head to chikamauga because John wanted to prove a point. and that's what a stupid teer with no sense of what a poltergeist is does. any way:

Me, John, his girlfriend Alice, and my dog ghost. decided to go to chickamauga national park.

Anyways when we got there Alice and 1 immediately started to feel a strange prescience and I began to smell something rotting John said it was probably just a dead racoon and shrugged It off. afterwards i started setting up camp i got out my laptop, camera, and trail cams and I started getting them ready despite John saying that there were no ghost except for my dog.

Once night came ghost seemed to sense something then John heard a strange cackle mixed with screaming so he woke me up

and with abject terror in his eyes told me to check the trail cams and that there might be a psycho outside and low and behold it caught a picture of two disembodied glowing eyes the color of what i'd best describe ass a cartoons selection of a uranium d fuel rod. This reminded me of a local legend surrounding the area so I looked through some of th saved pages I have saved on my computer about ghost, demons, cryptids, and the like. soon I found the page on lo' green eyes and It's description matched the entity exactly.

we where scared out of our minds and John

immediately freaked out which woke alice up she got a bit upset until she saw my shocked expression. she and john said we shouldn't be scared until we should make sure that green eyes was out there and we weren't getting scared by someone trying to pull a prank. he volunteered to go out and looked and I asked him to let me come with him because there was no way he was going alone.

once we got out he saw nothing and said it was fine but i was quick to notice glowing green eyes in the distance so i told John and once he saw it he was

petrified. Suddenly green eyes started floating towards us. I tried to get John to move but by the time he was able to it was already half way to us.
