Despite its positioning as the ultimate family friendly console, the Wii boasted a surprising number of horror games with such spook ‘em ups as Ju-On: The Grudge, Cursed Mountain, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, and The Calling. One title we didn’t get here in the West, however, was a remote controlled installment of the Fatal Frame series, exclusive as it was to Japan, but 15 years later and spruced up a little, it’s finally crossed the ocean. With that much time passing, Tecmo Koei hardly snapped to it when it came to a worldwide release.

This morning I finished Fate Samurai/Remnant. It is an amazing, addictive, beautiful game. From the combat to the exploration it was just such a brilliant experience! Yet, after finishing it I felt so disappointed. It makes no sense to me that in spite of its flaws Dynasty Warriors 9 had so much to do outside of the main missions. Remnant also has so much to do. So why did Samurai Warriors 5 have so little? Why does it feel as though Remnant is everything I dreamed and prayed that 5 would be? Why is it that Samurai Warriors 4 had FAR more to do and far more replay value than the game that came after it? I just feel so disappointed.

10 years ago today, Dead or Alive 5 Plus was released as a PlayStation Vita exclusive at JP. It was developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo Koei.
