Kakuzu and Hidan would portray intimacy in abnormal ways through acts of affection and affirmation but not in the typical romantic sense like cuddling, dates, i love yous or any of the sort. It's more in the way that Kakuzu would help wash off the blood on hidan's skin, reasoning it's because helping hidan fastens the process and lessens his complaining. But there's a weird layer of intimacy and loyalty behind the action of touching anothers body in such a soft way compared to his usual aggressiveness and lack of care. It's in the way that hidan would mindlessly put his arm around kakuzu to see the map to track the direction they're going and there's a minute of hesitance and allowance before kakuzu grabs hidan's arm to shove it off but it seems like he never does; he just grabs it before Hidan relents and drops it.
It's how Kakuzu stiches hidan's body together piece by piece no matter how many times it comes apart he'll forever be there to piece it back together regardless of him insisting he'll kill hidan himself the next time this happens. How Hidan would compliment kakuzu's ability to kill and fight others, having no clue how else to show how much he adores kakuzu's violence. They're stuck together for however long eternity is to eachother and despite the fact that they'll never explicity say they care or even like eachother it's these acts that establish this boundary.
#kakuhidan#kakuzu#hidan#naruto ramblings#akatsuki#i've been having thoughts about the first idea for so long#that and another post i made about kakuzu cleaning the blood from under hidans nails#i like the idea of them having such awkward ways of touching the others body with softness#they know they'll never do it any other time so i feel like deep down they're taking advantage of the moment to explore the others body#especially kakuzu and how he mends hidans body with such precision and technique with his stiches#naruto

Crap, there's one thing I forgot to mention when it comes to the running speed.
Godrick is, like... Pathetically slow that it's comical.
Also a guest appearance by...
yeah that's one thing I noticed in the race video, Godrick is even slower than Rykard!! to me if you really watch Godrick move, it looks like it's difficult or even painful for him to walk? I love the potential thematic angle of Godrick convincing himself that the more limbs he grafts onto himself, the stronger he gets, but at the same time his body is struggling to support itself and it's making his movements awkward and unwieldy... like how the things Godrick does don't actually help him, but are really very self-destructive and sad and come from a place of self-hatred.
anyway. lol
#asks#godrick#and also#mohg#also noticed that when fighting margit and godrick essentially back to back godrick feels like a much less precise fighter than margit#his attacks are easier to dodge (at least for me) and his technique is less refined like he's relying far more on raw strength#he's trying so hard to be something he's not... auuuuuuhhhh

“I have photographic memory”
Gustave Doré, an intellectual: « J'ai beaucoup de collodion dans la tête »
#collodion aka an alcohol based solution used in early photo techniques#however gustave dore did use references incl. photography when he needed to get more precise#there’s a very cool spanish research site that tracked down all the photos he used for the scenery in his l’espagne book

Ah! How would Hinata as Team 7's sensei have gone?!
Like- Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura having her as their sensei; while Kurenai has Kiba, Kakashi and Shino as her students!
Like the possibilities????
Adorable, I am sure, but honestly I'm WAY more interested in Kurenai's team!! What *is* going on over there??
Little Kakashi learning genjutsu. Kiba and Kakashi and many many dogs. Kakashi and Shino covering more and more of their faces as the grow, also Kakashi recognizing the great skill and advantages an Aburame can bring to the team. Kurenai bringing out the best of little Kakashi and helping him deal with his traumas while also not fighting a war.
I would actually like to see this Kakashi at shippuden >:o
Hinata-sensei with Sasuke: They've both suffered because of what the village has done to their clans, so she will protect him and prepare him to take down anyone who tries to harm him for where he was born into! Plus doujutsu tips.
Hina-sensei with Naruto: She is too kind and he is her little sunshine boy. She is so proud of him and always tells him and encourages him. She needs to let him know he is enough and he is good and does not need to prove himself to be loved!
Hina-sensei with Sakura: She's been looked down on for not being good enough, strong enough, for not being like the men around her. She will project a little and turn Sakura into the greatest kunoichi she possibly can, all she needs is to know if Sakura also wishes for that. She does >:)
#ask ffrogs#with sakuras precise chakra control do we think she could *learn* hyuuga techniques?#maybe develop similar ones

perhaps one day i will post all my insane little thoughts about shou and ritsu and strength (and skill vs power). but not right now it’s been too long since i’ve rewatched the claw arcs or confession arc
#mp100#mp100 spoilers#(<- for safety)#but yeah basically it’s like. i’d argue that psychic strength has two main components: power and skill#where power is the amount of raw energy you can output at once/your energy store#and skill is your ability to use it precisely/creatively/well#like for instance. i see shou as not actually having much Power (maybe teru level output? but his energy storage ability makes up for it)#but being EXTREMELY skilled- maybe one of the most skilled espers in the whole show! (especially wrt his lateral thinking)#so when he said ‘im just as strong as the ultimate 5’ he was conflating power with skill#i do believe he was as skilled as the ultimate 5. but definitely not as strong.#(toichirou on the other hand has the same skills shou does but with OVERWHELMING amounts of power)#(i fully believe shou knew ways to counter every technique toichirou pulled out but was just. overwhelmed by the sheer Power of those moves#(like he wasn’t able to use his counters because of the overwhelming force)#(this is also why mob doesn’t need techniques- once you hit a certain level of power you don’t really need that much skill)#ritsu on the other hand i see as having a good amount of power (under serizawa level but not far) but with a lack of skill#(and an inconsistent output level)#wow i really just made the whole post in the tags anyways huh. lmaooo

genuine question, do you like maths?? i have a vague feeling i saw your post of tags or something that said something about it but i cannot figure out if it was in fact you or if it was even positive ahahah
Yeah that was me! I don't go looking for math problems, but when I happen to do them, I tend to enjoy it. Wasn't always this way — elementary school math was about speed and memorization and I hated that — but I had a really good teacher in upper secondary school, and it became about creative problem solving. It feels the same as writing a poem in meter or managing to untangle a really bad knot in a ball of yarn.
#i can't do math in my head or memorize formulas#and i'm not precise‚ which is bad for questions that are only numbers. like. 5+6=? type of stuff#because if all you need to is write the final answer‚ then if that answer is wrong‚ youve failed. don't get the points for the exam question#but! upper secondary school math! my beloved! (specifically lyhyt matikka‚ idk what pitkä is like)#there's a book that has all the formulas in it and you can use it and look them up even during exams. no memorization#it doesn't explain *how* the formulas are used but still#and there was more time than there ever was in my previous schools. and finishing fast did not mean you were better. i could take my time#and there were so many... worded questions? like instead of pure numbers they present the problem to you in words. phrases. prose#here is a situation. solve it#and you get to choose HOW to solve it#sometimes i could not remember how a formula worked‚ or hadn't quite figured out a recently taught technique yet#and i just. figured out a different way to solve the problem#can't remember the answer to 5x8? let's count 5+5+5+5+5+5+5+5 instead#38/7? lets draw 38 little balls in the margin and separate them into groups of 7 and see how many there are and how many strays get left out#like that but applied to lots of stuff#and it was enougj! it was fine! it was a valid way to solve it! i got the right answer!#unless i messed something up! a + turned into a - by accident somewhere in the middle of the equation#but! part of this level of math was that it was encouraged to write our whole thought process down#and i‚ unable to do it off the paper anyway#i wrote down ALL OF IT#and the teacher saw where i went wrong and that it was little precision things but that i had the techniques down and#i still got most of the points for those questions instead of losing everything because of an incorrect number at the end#these differences have meant everything#math is puzzles. puzzles can be fun#some of my first memories of math class are of me sobbing under my desk#i cried a few tears in all my matriculation exams too‚ even for my favourite subjects. but not math#one of the most important questions was a geometry one. i shine in that area#i grinned doing it

I found the woodworking version of the Great British Bake-off, a show called Good With Wood, and now I too can know what it's like to be one of those people yelling at the screen about proper moisture ratios or whatever it is people who know about baking go on about while watching that show. Except I'm yelling about proper joinery techniques.
#you're using biscuit joints???? for a structural purpose???? lunacy. sheer lunacy#yeah inlays look great but do you really have the time to be THAT precise? on THIS big a piece??#*shaking my head wisely* it's a good idea but you'll never get the technique down in time#it's a great show though. and it's got Mel Giedroyc!

It might just be that I’m a little dumb but I feel like jjk has the most convoluted ability system to the point where the creator can have their characters explain what’s happening every single time and yet I don’t understand it even once
#watching jjk#and like I’m really trying but this goes over my head#and I don’t know if I’m at fault or they’re just not…very good#like in Naruto they explained the chakra system and I got it#in tg they explain the difference between types of kagune and I got it#in demon slayer it basically all comes down to breathing#but jujutsu…the way it’s set up and everything…I don’t think it was well thought through lol#I think there’s too much variance between each character’s ability and not enough foundation to explain how it’s all different#styles of the same medium so to speak#I feel like the foundation wasn’t explained well enough and that’s precisely WHY the manga and anime both get so wordy and long winded when#explaining each new technique every time a character does something rather than like getting on with the actual fight#watching jujutsu kaisen

“Cowboy Sweetheart” - a verse and chorus performed by Brandi Carlile
youtube
So much of her vocal performance is shaped around her ability to yodel, and how she stylistically chooses to use a flip to leap between a chest and head voice versus more a classical transition into a mix.
This sounds like nonsense, but then you hear her perform The Story so precisely and it becomes clear how incredible her technical mastery of her voice is.
youtube
#brandi carlile#getting to choose when to use that vocal flip vs more traditional technique#is one of her greatest tools as a vocalist#and she is so precise in how she chooses to use it

since I got sick I've been watching way more tv than usual and in conclusion if I ever come across a Korean puppet king listening to his courtiers wailing JEOnHHHHa no don't do it JEOnHHHHHA please calm down JEONHHHHHHa and he responds by poisoning his entire court and letting the revolution come explicitly not for any principled reason but just to make them stop I will pledge my fealty through the tv screen I will transmigrate to serve him and die by his side that's my guy!! my man, right or wrong. he can put his son in a box, as a treat.
#i believe it was Mencius who said shut up shut up shut up#i love historical fiction so much!#and I think it's especially enjoyable when you feel like crap and can't really bring yourself to do much else#the specific tone that Sageuk actors use to wail jeonha/mama is PRECISE it is weaponized#it is very deliberately engineered to make the viewer understand that anyone listening to it will be instantly and desperately motivated to#make it stop#historically accurate? i have no idea#as a dramatic technique... unparalleled
