I've been mostly working on my mando kit for the mando mercs costume club but I may have been working on a lil WIP called Tech Dies Vol 1....>.> just seems kinda awk now buuuuuuuut yeaaaaah <.<....

Hunter runs up to him next, shaking him as he shouts, "What did you say to them?!"

A string of words that make absolutely no sense come out of Tech's mouth before he turns a funny color green. 

"Tech, what did you say to the Regs?!?"

"S'not my fault they are so delicate!" He shouts back before Hunter rolls his eyes and blocks a punch that seems to come from out of nowhere and is headed right for Tech's face.

not only was seeing Geto the reason for him getting sealed but he went against his own power, his own technique which makes him the strongest, to listen to his soul. and to quote Song of Achilles (which i made a joke the other day about stsg being modern day achilles and patroclus) “He is half of my soul, as the poets say.”

Reading This Week 2024 #33

As warned, I come to you a day late because I was out of my house from 7:20am to 9:20pm. That time out was planned but also along the way my car battery died so I've sent it to the shop to get it looked at

I've really been in the zone with audiobooks this week, and I also worked on reading through the comic books I've had languishing on my shelf

Blue Box, Vol. 1 by Kouji Miura, translated by Christine Dashiell cute manga about some students at a very sports focused high school, badminton playing boy protagonist with a HUGE crush on basketball playing upperclassman girl. pretty cute, great art

Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg I am so glad that my library system had a physical copy of the 20th anniversary edition. It felt like an honor to hold this book in my hand. As expected, I cried at several points reading this. I have to say though, the mythos that has sprung up around this book (on tumblr but I'm sure elsewhere) as a Lesbian Book really really undersells how much this book's perspective is just as much if not more Working Class. it's a book about labor and difficulty making ends meet while butch: Jess' decision to pass as a man is certainly a gender-identity based decision but crucially it is also a financial one in hopes of getting a better job. Anyway. read the actual book

Remina by Junji Ito, translated by Jocelyn Allen read to keep up with Shelved by Genre. didn't like this one

Boys Weekend by Mattie Lubchansky recommended by a friend, graphic novel where a transfem attends the bachelor party of their old college buddy while the casino town they're in is taken over by a tech-startup-cult

The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty, narrated by Soneela Nankani okay yeah I spent like the last 2 hours of the audiobook jumping up and down my hallway. this was pretty rad, thanks for the rec dad. if you, like me, are put off by the YA characterization vibes in the first book, the characters do grow up

The Marlow Murder Club by Robert Thorogood, narrated by Nicolette McKenzie I'm going to come clean, I read this because I forgot the title of The Thursday Murder Club. however I really enjoyed this band of middle aged and older british ladies becoming friends and solving murders

Good Deeds #1-2 written by Che Grayson, art by Kelsey Ramsay, colors by Ronda Pattison comic about a small Florida town with unsettling supernatural stuff happening. I will be tracking down the other issues

Washed in the Blood #1 written by Kevin Roditeli, art by Rob Cannon, Kostas Pantoulas, and Vivi Ekhart the art and the lettering in this comic is crazy fun, but the story might be too "ooh so edgy" for me. I'll keep an eye out for the other issues but wont prioritize it

Crashing #1-3 written by Matthew Klein, art by Morgan Beem, colors by Triona Farrell miniseries focused on a doctor treating superpowered patients. absolutely going to find the other two issues of it, I need to see where this ends

What Feasts at Night by T. Kingfisher sequel to What Moves the Dead. it wasn't as good as the first one but it was still pretty enjoyable horror

Into the Anthill pt 52 - Long Live The Wasp

Basically every major super hero gets to come back from the dead at some point in their career and Jan's turn has finally come. Turns out she never actually died, which is a retcon that I can live with if it puts her back on the page again.

Avengers vol 4 #32-34

The Avengers I.D. cards each have a unique distress signal aside from the oldest batch, so when a distress call from their oldest signal type was detected from Inner Space Tony reached out to Hank immediately. Hank suspected it was Janet, and when the source of the beacon turned out to be the exact spot in Central Park where she died facing the Skulls he was sure this time it was finally her. Tony gathered Cap and Thor for the mission and intended to leave Hank behind but relented given the circumstances. Hank shrank them all down into the microverse, amazed at the foreign technology and buildings they were met with. But of course, nothing was as important as her; Janet van Dyne, alive and happier to see them than she'd ever been. At the moment of her 'death' she was instead shunted into this microscopic world where she’d been on the run ever since.

Lord Gouzar, a vicious tyrant centaur who’d come to rule over the Microverse by killing everyone who came before him, wanted her dead. Gouzar’s forces caught the Avengers off guard and defeated them, taking Tony away to study his armor while the rest were imprisoned in a force field. After he’d recharged the armor enough, Tony used his uni-beam to cause a diversion while Thor broke the barrier holding them captive. Before they could be overwhelmed again, Wonder Man used Pym Particles to follow them into the Microverse and save them. Hank and Simon were able to return them all to Central Park, but Lord Gouzar followed them there and was immediately beaten into submission by the 20 or so Avengers on the scene. With Jan finally back home the Avengers threw her a big ‘Welcome Back’ party at Stark Tower.

An encounter with Sunturion prompted Vision to confront Hank and Tony about why they left his broken remains in a cardboard box in a warehouse after his death. They told him that they’d tried everything they could think of, but with no guarantee that his persona would remain intact they had no choice but to wait until his body could heal itself. The process was further complicated when Iron Lad’s armor became the young Vision. Vision was not content with their answer, but understood their reasoning. The issue ended with him finally reaching out to Billy Kaplan, the reincarnation of his once-son William Maximoff. 

Avengers Arena vol 1 #13

Molly of the Runaways came to Hank for help after Nico and Chase had been gone for 3 weeks, which got him wondering about several of his students (Hazmat, Mettle, Reptil, X-23, and Juston) who had also been gone the same amount of time. Tigra tried to reassure him, but his hunch led him to contact Captain Britain who confirmed that several of his students had gone at the same time as well. He reached out to SHIELD hoping they'd have a lead, which they didn't, although a teenage girl in their custody with Deathlok tech went missing at the same time too.

Arcade, who had secretly kidnapped all of the missing teens to participate in a battle to the death for his amusement, rigged Mettle's corpse with cybernetics to act as a decoy and throw Hank off his trail. Mettle had actually been the first casualty of the Murderworld game and far from the only death by this point.

What if you were the one to write a rocket solo movie? What would it be about?

I'd probably want to do one of where he just escaped the lab and have his story go from his escape to his eventual team up with Groot. I know James Gunn elaborated on Groot and Rocket's first meeting and I sorta wrote it in my roleplay with @antvnger flourishing on it a bit as a story Rocket told him.

Actually have a few stories I made up myself that'd happen before that too, so I have enough of a 'background' story that could fit into an actual movie. The plot would be Rocket before he integrated into society as a fully fledged person. Him having to pick up on humanoid habits. I shared my idea with a couple people but basically he gets taken in as something between a foster kid or a pet by a person, I am thinking an elderly lady who seems very nice. He hasn't really figured out how he wants to be treated yet and is just grateful to have someone showing him some kindness. At first this person's intentions seem very pure, they're kind to him, feed him, start teaching him about the world, he gets to wear clothes... but Rocket's genius shows through (maybe he tries to invent them something nice as a thank you, in addition with his behavioral problems getting out of hand) and a shift in intention happens to his caretaker, who eventually cages him leaving him very confused and scared and tries to take him to sell to the collector. Rocket would be begging for this not to happen, pleading, because he trusted this person.

I'd use the term 'pet' as a backhand when the collector asks Groot if Rocket is his pet and snickers at Rocket's reaction as a throw back to this incident, like they know each other already but Rocket's just there in Vol 1 to get paid and trying his best to not be too angry about it all. Rocket would escape from the collector before being caged up, which causes the payment for Rocket to get cancelled just as the caretaker was about to collect the units.

Insert horrifying man hunt from his caretaker as Rocket has to flee, completely fucking with his mind, getting coaxed with sweet words followed by deep rooted insults that delve into his insecurities. This experience solidifies Rocket's absolute misanthropy.

Following all this, Rocket takes his life into his own hands, he sheds the metal pieces from his body as much as he can, prying off the parts off his face and chest, removing his braces. He starts his life of crime, and starts getting into his love of guns, and there would be a montage of his prison sentences where we get to see him hold his own without Groot. We'd see clips of his various crimes, him enjoying that life, him submitting to his sentences and followed by prisonbreaks. It shows how creative he is, we get some comedy of the crazy ideas he's pulled off, and when he's being a criminal we do see he has pride in himself and his own professionalism and that even though he'll break laws he still has a moral compass under it.

This goes on until he gets sentenced to a prison that lacks any tech for him to use to break out; that's when he meets Groot. It his him, Groot and Tibius Lark who is friends with Groot. He's just in the deep smooth hole he can't climb up and there are armed guards right above the holes anyway. It seems hopeless. Tibius dies, causing Groot to grieve, but Rocket then realizes Tibius was an android and is full of machine parts. He fashions a gun out of his body and him and Groot escape the prison together, Rocket getting to learn to understand Groot and to finally care for someone else and trust again, and then they eventually will be starting their lives as co-op bounty hunters.

As the story arc, it would be Rocket discovering what he wants to see himself as, recognizing himself as an actual person and not just an experiment or a freak of nature. Like he KNOWS he's those things, but he learns to not let people treat him that way. I'd also want to at least show Groot and him having some good times towards the end, kinda showing that their relationship dynamic. It would also have him discovering to trust again, even if it's just a little bit. We'll see him at his worst before picking up the pieces and moving on with his life and learning from it all.

but does he?

considering that tony dies so early in canon in this (like VERY early tales of suspense/avengers vol 1) there probably aren’t any LMDs of him! for one, tony isn’t around to get brain scans of when the tech caches up (i don’t actually know how lmds work in 616, really) and i also don’t think the robot WOULD use them, because at the point where they could exist (and even taking the sliding time scale into account it’s a good while i’m p sure) he’s likely… grown enough as his own person that he doesn’t want/need it. though he might be tempted, considering the weird in-between case he’s in. not quite tony, not quite not tony.

Dj producer, fashion designer, propone una techno potente, senza fronzoli, forte di uno stile praticamente unico e di una vasta conoscenza musicale. Il percorso che la porta oggi in top club come il Bolgia di Bergamo prende il via prima del 2010, periodo in cui si esibisce sono in Russia ed Ucraina. Into the Anthill pt 30 - The Destiny War

Hank has a complicated relationship with his past identities, none more so than Yellowjacket. So when Rick Jones drafted GIant-Man to help him in a mission to stop Immortus and the Timekeepers, as well as a time-displaced copy of Yellowjacket that hadn't realized he was Hank yet, hilarity ensues.

Except, of course, for Janet. For her it's twice the usual headache.

Avengers vol 3 #10-11

Justice and Firestar were granted full Avengers status at the Avengers Day parade, turning their reserve member positions over to Giant-Man and Wasp. After the parade, the former memorial to the heroes lost in the Onslaught crisis was rededicated to honor all of the deceased Avengers instead. Grim Reaper interrupted the ceremony with zombie copies of Wonder Man, Captain Marvel, Doctor Druid, Hellcat, Thunderstrike, Mockingbird, and Swordsman and trapped the living heroes in an energy dome. Agatha Harkness helped Wanda bring Simon back to life to defeat his brother, but the rest of the raised Avengers died again.

Avengers Forever vol 1 #1-8, 10-12

Giant-Man and Beast failed to find a cure for Rick Jones' mysterious illness, but Iron Man deduced that it was similar to the power the Kree Supreme Intelligence had once given him. Rick was left alone in the Intelligence's care for observation, but Immortus and Kang each stepped in to fight over him. Rick's power to summon heroes through the Destiny Force was reactivated with Libra’s help, bringing 7 Avengers from across time to save him. This included Songbird and Genis-Vell from the future, the modern-day Giant-Man and Wasp, and Captain America, Hawkeye, and Yellowjacket from different points in the past.

The Avengers made their way to Chronopolis, where Kang sacrificed himself to buy them time to escape when Immortus’s forces invaded. He took control of the Heart of Forever, using it to convert all of Chronopolis and its residents into the Forever Crystal. Safe in Kang's Sphinx Ship, the Avengers were able to escape this fate. The team split up into 3 groups and used the ship’s chronospheres to visit timelines Immortus was targeting. In each era they encountered a team of Avengers facing impossible odds. Using what they learned about Immortus' plans from each timeline, Giant-Man and Yellowjacket salvaged chronosphere tech to take them to Immortus’ stronghold in Limbo. As soon as they arrived, the Avengers were separated and tormented with visions before having to turn back. What Yellowjacket saw revealed to him his true identity, so he offered to help Immortus win to avoid a future as "that loser Henry Pym".

A captured Space Phantom revealed that Immortus' actions were always intended to keep humanity in check, as the Timekeepers viewed humanity as the most dangerous race in the universe. All in the name of human suppression,  Immortus had changed their memories, pushed Vision and Wanda together to reduce the odds of her having children, and impersonated Kang to manipulate Iron Man among many other events. When Hank commented that that meant Immortus had been responsible for his mental breakdowns instead of Kang, the phantom confirmed that the story was a lie. No outside force had tampered with his mind; he had fallen on his own.

Immortus, desperate to keep Rick from using the Destiny Force again, worked with Yellowjacket to show the Avengers the totalitarian future Rick's descendants would incur if they inherited his power. The Timekeepers held the Avengers on trial to prove that humanity was too dangerous to go unchecked. They planned to only allow timelines that contributed to their own survival to remain, erasing all others with the power of the Forever Crystal. Double-crossing Immortus, Yellowjacket called in Kang, Rick, and the Supreme Intelligence to help the Avengers stop the Timekeepers.

The final clash happened at The Citadel At The End Of Time, where the Timekeepers had set up their chrono-cannon. They summoned Avenger from every failed timeline to defend them, Rick countered by summoning Avengers from the timelines where they stayed heroic. Unable to stop the cannon, Rick used the Destiny Force to stop it but died in the process. Kang took the opportunity to kill the Timekeepers and Cap destroyed the Forever Crystal while he was busy. Before everyone was returned to their respective times, Genis sacrificed his life to revive Rick.

This is going to be a long SatoSugu post so strap in

Satoru's last words to Suguru were a confession of his love for him and this confession was Kenjaku's key to his sealing.

To get the full picture we have to go back to their school days.

It's been well established that the two were the closest to each other. They loved and trusted each other and together they were the strongest duo.

But when Gojo kicked his training into high gear and Getou was losing himself, Suguru couldn't keep up and Satoru became the strongest.

Satoru could go on missions on his own, and Shouko barely went out on missions leaving Suguru on his own. Suguru was left behind and felt as though if he had continued by Satoru's side he'd only be holding him back. (Gojo fights alone now in the series so that could be related.) This is when Suguru begins to let go of Satoru, and this is when the relationship pulls apart for him. If they're not the strongest duo why would Satoru keep him around? What are they if they're not the strongest together?

Suguru doesn't know that Satoru loves him regardless of his power or abilities but because they were best friends, and their relationship wasn't only built on them being the strongest duo.

Suguru leaves Jujutsu Tech after murdering a village. On that busy road in Tokyo, he does not try to reach out to Gojo, to explain to him or convince him to see his viewpoint. This was the person who knew him better than anyone and in what was meant to be their final moment he keeps him at a distance, even adding that the strongest should kill him if he wants. At this moment they're not best friends or two parts of a duo, they're simply 2 sorcerers with conflicting paths.

Suguru leaves Satoru, believing that Satoru doesn't have any love left for him.

A decade passes and we're in JJK Vol 0!

During Yuta and Getou's fight, Getou doesn't understand Yuta's relationship with Rika and calls him a womanizer (or rude) and Yuta corrects him and states that it's pure love to which Getou responds with 'Then this is justice' as if the two are opposing sides. My interpretation of this is that Getou does not understand love or what it is to be loved which is why he misunderstands Okkotsu.

After Yuta wins, Satoru finds Suguru in a weakened state nearing his last breath. Satoru lets Suguru know that he trusted him to not kill his students and Suguru is surprised to hear that even after all this time Satoru still trusted him.

Satoru asks Suguru if he has any last words and he shares them. That he hates the monkeys and can't truly be happy in this world.

Satoru then shares his final words with Suguru and it comes as a surprise

Whatever it is Satoru says was enough to bring joy to Suguru right after he said he couldn't be happy in this world.

I'm personally stuck on the line "He wouldn't have said such an embarrassing thing back in his student day." What I understand from this is that Gojo has never said this before and it's something that's endearing now but would have been considered embarrassing to say back when they were classmates and a love confession fits the bill.

Suguru Getou dies knowing that Satoru Gojo loves him.

Kenjaku in Getou's body knows this as well.

A key element of Kenjaku's plan required that Gojo be sealed away and this sealing required Gojo to be distracted for 1 minute. Under normal circumstances, this would be a difficult condition to meet. Jogo even states that even 1000 human lives wouldn't be enough.

But Kenjaku didn't need 1000 human lives. Kenjaku in Getou's body knows the duo's history and can feel Suguru's feelings towards Satoru. This body remembers that Satoru loved Suguru and that's all Kenjaku needed for him to be confident in his plan.

There was no mind trick, there was no elaborate booby trap. What kept Satoru in place was as simple as

Gojo's love for Getou and his confession of this love cursed him in the end. And to quote what he told Yuta the year before "Love is the most twisted curse of them all"
