Born and raised in the close-knit community of Magee, Mississippi, Carlos Funchess had the seeds of basketball greatness planted within him from an early age. Growing up, basketball became his true love, serving as his constant companion on the courts of his neighborhood. It was during these formative years that his unwavering dedication and relentless work ethic laid the foundation for his future success. After completing his high school journey, Funchess embarked on the next chapter of his basketball career, joining the Copiah-Lincoln Community College team. Over the course of two seasons, he showcased his skills and talent, leaving a lasting impression on both teammates and coaches. This invaluable experience helped shape his understanding of the game and fueled his desire to continue his pursuit of excellence. Funchess's journey took an exciting turn when he transferred to Northeast Louisiana, now known as the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
