What if I wrote a tcaabr fic for the 2 people that have seen it. What then. This is about to be my most niche venture.

(some spoilers for comedy about a bank robbery in this post)

i say to myself all the time that tcaabr reminds of of the movie version of who framed roger rabbit in the sense that in roger rabbit there's a main noir detective guy who's basically a regular detective who finds himself in a wild cartoony world, and absolutely mitch is just a straight up criminal bank robbert who is trying his best to rob a bank the regular way in a world that functions on cartoon logic...

and it's to the show's benefit really because mitch really brings that serious factor in his scenes, which lets the show go from very wacky hijinks to more serious drama more easily than many others, because the seriousness can sort of migrate with mitch. like, if mr freeboys said he were going to kill someone, you would say, "yeah, right, he's going to fire a gun and it's going to ricochet off of seven different surfaces before landing harmlessly on the floor." but when mitch says it, you're like, "omg he's gonna kill someone!" it lends real stakes to the show imo

also while i'm still rambling, i think that this is a little different than just a regular "straight man" role, which i think officer randy embodies much more. like, randy is also more of a "normal person" in a cartoon world, but he really isn't a threat to the protagonists, he doesn't have that same gravity that mitch does.

if i’m not mistaken mischief aren’t planning to write new Goes Wrong/cornley content for a little while (which i respect and love for them, tcaabr and magic and mmni are fabulous) and since we left off with the end of the goes wrong show season 2, for now i can only assume jonathan is fucking dead

4. What detail in TFPT are you really proud of?

to be veryy honest I am proud of like, the entirety of the fic, just for being like. one of the most complicated things I've ever planned and successfully executed but also a heck of an emotional storyline.

anyway one little easter egg that no one's mentioned yet is that max's brothers are named after other characters dave has played - sam from tcaabr and kevin from mgw!

another detail that makes me vibrate when i think about it (minor spoiler warning?) is in chapter 17 when robert mentions he went to the 3050s in a last-ditch attempt to escape. remember when the world ends? the very act of deciding to remain with the cpds saved his life. he said he wanted to leave, that he could have settled in the 3050s, and yet and yet and yet. the very family he was scared of loving are the ones who allowed him to live.

I've just finished watching the comedy about a bank robbery rehearsals and I wanna cry. They didn't have to go so hard in the death scenes, especially Jono and Henry holy shit

drew some beloveds <3 really enjoyed tcaabr, i have many feelings about them. neil deserved so much better :(

The sheer chaos of the rotating stage not stopping and the entire cast jumping and running over the set shouting 'keep in line with the audience'

good afternoon i am thinking about the scene from the comedy about a bank robbery where ruth talks to to sam (disguised as freeboys) about how much she loves him and how she’s worried about not being a good mother, and sam being so quick to reassure her that she’s an excellent mom and tries to communicate that to her but he can’t because she doesn’t know she’s talking to him
