Uriel

Uriel, Auriel or Oriel is the name of one of the archangels who is mentioned in the post-exilic rabbinic tradition and in certain Christian traditions. He is well known in the Russian Orthodox tradition and in folk Catholicism (in both of which he is considered to be one of the seven major archangels) and recognised in the Anglican Church as the fourth archangel. He is also well known in European esoteric medieval literature. Uriel is also known as a master of knowledge and archangel of wisdom.

Where a fourth archangel is added to the named three, to represent the four cardinal points, Uriel is generally the fourth. Uriel is listed as the fourth angel by Christian Gnostics (under the name Phanuel). However, it is debated whether the Book of Enoch refers to the same angel by two different names. Uriel means "God is my flame", whereas Phanuel means "God has turned". Uriel is the third angel listed in the Testament of Solomon, the fourth being Sabrael.

Uriel appears in the Second Book of Esdras found in the Biblical apocrypha (called Esdras IV in the Vulgate) in which the prophet Ezra asks God a series of questions and Uriel is sent by God to instruct him. According to the Revelation of Esdras, the angels that will rule at the end of the world are Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, Gabuthelon, Beburos, Zebuleon, Aker, and Arphugitonos. The last five listed only appear in this book and nowhere else in apocryphal or apocalyptic works.

Uriel is often identified as a cherub and the angel of repentance. He "stands at the Gate of Eden with a fiery sword", or as the angel "who is over the world and over Tartarus. In the Apocalypse of Peter he appears as the angel of repentance, who is graphically represented as being as pitiless as any demon. In the Life of Adam and Eve, Uriel is regarded as the spirit (i.e., one of the cherubs) of the third chapter of Genesis. He is also identified as one of the angels who helped bury Adam and Abel in Eden.

Gabriel

In the Abrahamic religions, Gabriel is an archangel with the power to announce God's will to humans. He is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament, and the Quran. Many Christian traditions – including Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Lutheranism, and Anglicanism – revere Gabriel as a saint. In the Hebrew Bible, Gabriel appears to the prophet Daniel to explain his visions (Daniel 8:15–26, 9:21–27). The archangel also appears in the Book of Enoch and other ancient Jewish writings not preserved in Hebrew. Alongside the archangel Michael, Gabriel is described as the guardian angel of Israel, defending its people against the angels of the other nations.

Gabriel's first appearance in the New Testament, concerns the annunciation of the birth of John the Baptist. John's father Zacharias, a priest of the course of Abia, (Luke 1:5–7) was childless because his wife Elisabeth was barren. An angel appears to Zacharias while he is ministering in the Temple, to announce the birth of his son. Michael

Michael, also called Saint Michael the Archangel, Archangel Michael and Saint Michael the Taxiarch is an archangel in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and the Baha'i faith. The earliest surviving mentions of his name are in 3rd and 2nd-century BC Jewish works, often but not always apocalyptic, where he is the chief of the angels and archangels, and he is the guardian prince of Israel and is responsible for the care of Israel. Christianity adopted nearly all the Jewish traditions concerning him, and he is mentioned explicitly in Revelation 12:7–12, where he does battle with Satan, and in the Epistle of Jude, where the author denounces heretics by contrasting them with Michael.

The seven archangels (or four - the traditions differ but always include Michael) were associated with the branches of the menorah, the sacred seven-branched lampstand in the Temple as the seven spirits before the throne of God, and this is reflected in the Book of Revelation 4:5 ("From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God" - ESV). Michael is mentioned explicitly in Revelation 12:7-12, where he does battle with Satan and casts him out of heaven so that he no longer has access to God as accuser (his formal role in the Old Testament). The fall of Satan at the coming of Jesus marks the separation of the New Testament from Judaism. In Luke 22:31 Jesus tells Peter that Satan has asked God for permission to "sift" the disciples, the goal being to accuse them, but the accusation is opposed by Jesus, who thus takes on the role played by angels, and especially by Michael, in Judaism.

Michael is mentioned by name for the second time in the Epistle of Jude, a passionate plea for believers in Christ to do battle against heresy. In verses 9-10 the author denounces the heretics by contrasting them with the archangel Michael, who, disputing with Satan over the body of Moses, "did not presume to pronounce the verdict of 'slander' but said, 'The Lord punish you!'

According to rabbinic tradition, Michael acted as the advocate of Israel, and sometimes had to fight with the princes of the other nations (Daniel 10:13) and particularly with the angel Samael, Israel's accuser. Their enmity dates from the time Samael was thrown from heaven and tried to drag Michael down with him, necessitating God's intervention.

Raphael

Raphael is an archangel first mentioned in the Book of Tobit and in 1 Enoch, both estimated to date from between the 3rd and 2nd century BCE. In later Jewish tradition, he became identified as one of the three heavenly visitors entertained by Abraham at the Oak of Mamre. He is not named in either the New Testament or the Quran, but later Christian tradition identified him with healing and as the angel who stirred waters in the Pool of Bethesda in John 5:2–4, and in Islam, where his name is Israfil, he is understood to be the unnamed angel of Quran 6:73, standing eternally with a trumpet to his lips, ready to announce the Day of Judgment. In Gnostic tradition, Raphael is represented on the Ophite Diagram.

His name derives from the Hebrew root רפא (r-p-ʾ) meaning "to heal", and can be translated as "God has healed". In Tobit he goes by the name Azariah (Hebrew: עֲזַרְיָה/עֲזַרְיָהוּ ʿĂzaryāh/ʿĂzaryāhū, "Yah/Yahu has helped") while disguising himself as a human. In the text he acts as a physician and expels demons, using an extraordinary fish to bind the demon Asmodeus and to heal Tobit's eyes, while in 1 Enoch he is "set over all disease and every wound of the children of the people", and binds the armies of Azazel and throws them into the valley of fire.

The New Testament names only two archangels or angels, Michael and Gabriel (Luke 1:9–26; Jude 1:9; Revelation 12:7), but Raphael, because of his association with healing, became identified with the unnamed angel of John 5:1–4 who periodically stirred the pool of Bethesda "and he that went down first into the pond after the motion of the water was made whole of whatsoever infirmity he lay under". The Catholic Church accordingly links Raphael with Michael and Gabriel as saints whose intercession can be sought through prayer.

Due to his actions in the Book of Tobit and the Gospel of John, Saint Raphael is considered patron of travelers, the blind, happy meetings, nurses, physicians, medical workers, matchmakers, Christian marriage, and Catholic studies. As a particular enemy of the devil, he was revered in Catholic Europe as a special protector of sailors: on a corner of the famous Doge's Palace in Venice is a relief depicting Raphael holding a scroll on which is written: "Efficia fretum quietum" (“Keep the Gulf quiet”). On July 8, 1497, when Vasco da Gama set sail from Lisbon with his four-ship fleet to India, the flagship was named São Rafael at the insistence of King Manuel I of Portugal. When the flotilla reached the Cape of Good Hope on October 22, the sailors debarked and erected a column in the archangel's honor. The little statue of Raphael that accompanied Da Gama on the voyage is now in the Naval Museum in Lisbon.

Let me start with a simple fact. Many stories told in Christian mythology are based on major elements of the ancient Greeks, consisting of stories written over 700 years before the birth of Christ, consisting of people and events that were said to have originated many thousands of years prior. As someone who has studied stories from both sources, I have been able to connect the incredibly fascinating similarities.

“Helel” is a Hebrew word that means “the shining one” or “the bright one”. This was translated to Latin as “lucem” (light) and “ferre” (to carry), before being merged into “lucefer” and changed to “lucifer”, which corresponds with the Greek name for the planet Venus, personified by the mythological figure known as both, Eosphoros (dawn-bringer) and Phosphoros (light-bringer), the avatars of the planet Venus as it appears in the morning sky, which is the true origin of “Morningstar”.

The word “Lucifer” was only ever mentioned once in the Bible and it was referring to the planet Venus at dawn, not any particular being. This singular mention was part of a verse in Isaiah 14:12, which was a taunt aimed at a reigning King of Babylon, an enemy nation of Israel and other nations they were in violent conflict with. Calling him “Lucifer” was an insult meant to point out the king’s fall from the light:

“Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit”.

Confusing, yes? Flowery? Very much. And who is to say this has been translated properly with so many words with double meanings and others borrowed from far older cultures?

Furthermore, “satan” was also never suggested to be another name for any particular being; Certainly not a fallen angel. It is a Latin word meaning “adversary”, which was used to describe anyone who would challenge one’s faith in God or tempt one to sin.

Many claim that Lucifer was mentioned in Genesis 3, but he was not. The villain in the story was simply referred to “the serpent”. This likely a metaphor, the most popular theory and likely truth being Adam’s penis and the sexual temptation he shared with Eve.

Many also claim that Lucifer tried to tempt Jesus Christ in Matthew 4:1–11, but in this verse, the tempter was only referred to as “the devil”. The Greek word “diabolos” from which “devil” is derived, means “slanderer”, which, in this context, can easily refer to someone who made false claims against God in order to convince Jesus to turn away from his path. You could say that by trying to tempt Jesus, this devil was slandering God by suggesting that he is not the way and he, she or it could have been anyone, including a person, a spirit, an angel, or even God himself.

Another interesting fact is that “Hades” was translated into “Hell” as was the Greek word, “Tartarus”. The problem is, Hell and Tartarus are not the same place. When mentioned separately, they were described quite differently. Hell is where human souls go after living a life of sin while Tartarus was where evil beings of great power were sent as punishment. In Greek myth, it’s where the Titans were imprisoned and in Christian myth, it was the place where fallen angels were condemned to dwell.

So much has been lost in translation due to the poor quality of surviving scrolls and books, assumptions based on ancient words with double meanings, minds clouded by political agendas and drink, and so many of these stories have been tainted by (other?) popular works of fiction.

You also must take into consideration that stories and “facts” change from one moment to the next. We can’t even begin to imagine how many such tellings have changed over this vast amount of time. The first Bible stories were written over 3,220 years ago. Many of us can’t recall what we ate last week or how to spell certain words. How are we to base our lives on stories containing less continuity than a modern comic book?

MELINOE was a frightful underworld Goddess who presided over the propitiations offered to the ghosts of the dead. She wandered the earth at night with a retinue of ghosts, striking fear into the hearts of mankind. Her limbs were black one one side of her body and white on the other, revealing her dual chthonian and heavenly aspects.

Mels is not, in any manner, someone to mess with. She carries the ability to summon and control the spirits of the dead. She has no respect for anyone who does not, in her opinion, deserve it. At least, when she's lucid. Things are a lot dicier when she's not.

A "sigma male" is a term for a man who doth strive to be as close to divinity as possible. Not in terms of piety, nay, but in terms of status. He is driven to rise from the depths of Tartarus to the very spheres of heaven itself in terms of wealth and honor, and doth receive the adoration of his peers. Yet, despite the accolades draped upon his name and head like the laurel wreathes of victory, he would require the company of none but himself.

"Rizz", however, for the longest time, hath been a term that eluded my understanding. Now, however, I finally hath pinpointed a definition. 'tis a shortening - almost Shakespearean, even! - of "charisma" - namely of the ability to charm and woo a person. So yes, OP would likely be quite correct in that the Bard himself would understand "rizz," especially upon first hearing it in context.

Yea, I did take the challenge seriously. I do not recommend being in the company of those who call themselves "sigma males". 'tis... unsavory company, and is an effective short walk and sudden stop for thine head - not for thy life, but for thine intelligence and most especially thy sanity.

Greek goddess of the night

Nyx (Roman: Nox) is the primordial goddess of the night and is one of the most ancient goddesses to dwell within this Universe, as she had originated within the Void beyond the Universe. Nyx formed from the depths of this ancient darkness without any parents and mated with several deities in order to bring about gods who were necessary for creation to evolve. From Chaos (the formless Void), Nyx gave birth to Nemesis, Hypnos, Momus, and many others. With her first husband, Ouranus (god of the heavens), she gave birth to many deities, including Philotes, the goddess of unity and love. Afterwards, Nyx mated with several other deities such as Olethros and Erebos. With Olethros (god of doom), Nyx gave birth to Pluto (god of death and the Underworld). In ancient Greek sources, Hesiod claims Pluto (Hades) to be the son of Kronos and Rhea, yet it is the Orphics who determine him to be the son of Nyx (which Nyx confirms). 

Nyx also temporarily mated with Erebos, the primordial god of darkness, with whom she gave birth to Aether (god of the upper light and aethereal air), Hemera (goddess of day), and Eris (goddess of strife and discord). In the evening, their mother Nyx would draw her dark veil across the sky, obscuring the ether and bringing night. In the morning, Hemera dispersed night's mist to reveal the shining blue ether of day. In the ancient cosmogonies, night and day were regarded as elements separate from the sun. Eris would go upon mankind and ruthlessly spread chaos, gossip, arguments, and battles with glee- her opposite and sister, Philotes, would be the one to amend this maliciousness with her harmonious powers. Philotes is the Universal power of harmony and the ability to subdue chaos through love and understanding. She is the most beloved of Nyx’s children and is the strongest among them. She arose as dawn and hope and began working to harmonize all of existence in order to bring peace and wisdom; fighting against all hardships.

In Greece, Nyx was often depicted as the very substance of the night- a veil of dark mists drawn across the sky to obscure the light of Aether, the shining blue of the heavens. Her opposite is Hemera (Day) who scattered the mists of night at dawn. In her humanoid form, the goddess is depicted was a beautiful woman wearing a black dress and with black wings. Sometimes she was shown crowned with an aureole of dark mists. Homer (Il. xiv. 259, &c.) calls her the subduer of gods and men, and relates that Zeus himself stood in awe of her. In the ancient cosmogonies, Night is one of the very first created beings, for she is described as the daughter of Chaos (the Void).  

At the beginning there was only Chaos (the Void), Nyx (Night), Erebos (Darkness), and deep Tartarus (the Abyss). From the collected effort of elder creator deities, the Cosmic Egg was able to be formed in the depths of the Void, and eventually the Egg burst open- exploding into light to form the cosmos of the Universe, as well as the glorious deities Phanes (Lucifer) and Eros. These two beautiful deities were separated upon birth, with Eros staying within the Void and radiant Phanes remaining in solitude within this newly formed Universe. Eventually, Eros made a less-powerful copy of himself to be born to Aphrodite, so that he could interact within the Universe as well. Phanes held the distinguished sceptre [the rulership of the universe] and guided the other deities who came into being for many ages.  

The Orphic Hymn to Nyx [16]:

Appearance: Nyx appears as a beautiful and regal woman with long wavy black hair, silver eyes, pale skin, black-feathered wings, and wears long flowing black dresses with tiny stars and silver jewelry. In her ancient form, Nyx is enormous, dwarfing in size even planets; her long black hair is like a shroud. Her piercing gaze can strike terror into most other deities who come upon her.

Personal experiences: She is extremely loving and wise, loves calculating things, is compassionate, understanding, graceful, regal, mysterious, charming, and very intelligent. She is one of the most wonderful goddesses I know of and is both incredibly gentle and wise. Whenever Nyx is happy, new stars are born in the Universe. She deeply values things such as inspiration, peaceful exploration and scientific pursuits, astronomy, pharmacology, and the pursuit of one’s dreams. Nyx is more withdrawn from humans than many other deities, but for those who come to her, she grants them serenity, guidance, and nourishment. She describes herself as “the one who guides and nurtures from the dark so the day can be born”. Nyx also explains that she is the goddess who the Egyptians called Nuit and who the Nords called Nótt, since it is she who embodies the night and has been known by many names throughout existence.

Taffy’s Take: Dark Nights Death Metal #1

So....it has all finally come to this. The finale. The ultimatum in a long saga of stories that started in the original Dark Nights, began showing its hand in No Justice, and was fully fleshed out with Snyder’s Justice League run. And it opens with a resounding boom that rivets your attention straight to the story and won’t let go until the pages run out. 

We open with Sergeant Rock, preparing himself and an unknown audience for a conflict to come. When or where this is set is somewhat unknown, but the massive futuristic assault rifle he levels to emphasis his last line says that Rock is somewhere in the modern day.

After the credits page, featuring a map of the current world of the DCU and a message that calls Death Metal an “Anti-Crisis”, we cut to Wonder Woman, hard at work deconstructing the invisible jet with a buzzsaw-like device in the literal depths of hell (Originally Themyscira) when someone interrupts her over approaching people. Said person is the flaming, green-covered skeleton that Swamp Thing has become in this world and he says that someone is coming with prisoners. And as Diana walks through her prison to meet these people, we get to see the absolute myriad of villains entombed in the place, including Joker. Once they reach the quartet, we get to meet Batmage, a red-suited Batman, a cloaked figure, and.....Bat-Tyrannosaurus. After some very terse banter, Diana is forced to throw this unknown prisoner into the pits of Tartarus. But before he is cast into the depths, he mutters something to Diana that makes her recognize the person for a moment.

After that, we are shown Castle Bat and given a backstory of a specific field within that area and the rebels who died within the tunnels underneath it before pulling back to a panel of a castle, with The Batman Who Laughs’ twisted Robins and Joker dragons dominating the structure. And then we meet The Batman Who Laughs’ League, composed of pairings of heros and Dark Multiverse Batmen. We have Harley Quinn and Dr Arkham, Aquaman and Bathomet, Wonder Woman and Batmage, and Mister Miracle and Darkfather. With each of them, we get a small question about their current work, with the most noteworthy being Mister Miracle revealing that Superman has almost succumbed to the Anti-Life Equation. Content with their briefings, The Batman Who Laughs begins to explain how Perpetua, the god who created their multiverse, has destroyed another of their universe, leaving only 8 before The Batman Who Laughs and Perpetua can remake the multiverse however they desire. Before we can hear more, we’re dragged into Diana’s perspective as the true Batman engages in a psychic link with her, trying to advocate for a small victory rather than the sweeping final win that Diana desires. As her thoughts turn towards what happened to result in the current state of the universe and her lack of memory about what caused it, The Batman Who Laughs interrupts her as he can tell that she is hiding something.

And at that moment, an explosive arrow fires out of the nearby woods and nearly vaporizes The Batman Who Laughs. Sacrificing one of his Robins, we soon see Bruce stride out to exchange threats with The Batman Who Laughs, who takes with some jest before ordering an entire squadron of Dark Multiverse Batmen to kill Bruce. While the enslaved Justice League does their best to take advantage of the distraction, their Dark Multiverse minders are quick to detain them from any rebellious actions. So Bruce is left alone, simply standing in this field to face down an army. And as The Batman Who Laughs monologues about how disappointed the brave men and women who died in this field would be at Bruce’s actions, he asks him what he would say to justify himself.

His answer?

One word.

“RISE.”

And so, with a BLACK LANTERN RING ON HIS FINGER, BRUCE WAYNE SUMMONS AN ARMY OF UNDEAD REBELS TO FIGHT THE DARK MULTIVERSE BATMEN JUST PURELY TO DEMONSTRATE WHAT HIS METHOD CAN DO TO DIANA BEFORE RIDING OFF ON A SKELETAL MOTORCYCLE AND LEAVING ZOMBIE JONAH HEX TO CONTINUE LEADING THE ASSAULT.

And now, as the audience both in the know about all of that and not in the know but hyped as hell because BRUCE WAYNE WENT FULL FUCKING NECROMANCER sits in the afterglow of that amazing moment, we cut to a single page depicting the planet Ossex as the Main Man, Lobo, unearths something from underneath the living bone of the planet.

Having made it back to Themyscira, Diana is quick to continue with the rebellion, setting off into Tartarus to see who this mystery prisoner is. And its...Wally West, with a Dr Manhattan-style hydrogen atom drawn into the forehead of his costume. And with Wally, we finally get an explanation of what the hell is going on. See, with the traditional multiverses, they are created using the positive energies that were explored in the Justice League run, things like the Speed Force, the Emotional Spectrum, Imagination. The inverse, stuff like chaos magic and the forces of doom that Perpetua wished to bring to power (and succeeded at doing) are what Wally calls Crisis Energy. And whereas the positive energies wish to create a strong united universe, Crisis Energies wish to simply make only one thing, one moment, one person important. And so, when Perpetua was trapped after her attempts to make a universe of war out of crisis energy, she did her best to instigate crises and came back empowered with all that energy. Meanwhile, the league, empowered by the slightly failed efforts of Dr Manhattan to ‘fix’ the multiverse, gathered all the positive energy they could and then, between the last issue of Justice League and Death Metal, the two forces clashed. Which, since they were basically smashing tow inverse forces together, resulted in both sides burning themselves out.

Now, that block of text could be extremely dry feeling, but it works really well in the two page spread, with the word balloons beginning to form an infinity symbol as images of past crises ranging from the original Crisis On Infinite Earths to Emerald Twilight to Dark Nights Metal in the background. 

But back to the story. With that explanation done, Wonder Woman begins to theorize potentially going back to those crises and gathering this information for themselves in order to reshape the universe themselves. Resulting in....”The first Anti-Crisis” The Batman Who Laughs interrupts with, striding into Tartarus to cut his own deal with Wonder Woman to let him take control over Perpetua. If she helps him, she gets all the people Perpetua has trapped and their own planet. And after that, he emphasizes how she can’t out-plan him, how he’s already prepared for her to knock him out, use the invisible jet she was being forced to deconstruct and melt down to give her armor that would render her undetectable. Wonder Woman is quick to counter that despite all the knowledge The Batman Who Laughs says he has, that entire plan is what Bruce would do. So he is quick to counter, stating so then she’d make a weapon, some sort of sword?

But it seems The Batman Who Laughs didn’t account for two things. One, for Diana to have already made her weapon before he showed up. Two, she didn’t need to make a sword. And so, with a pull of its ripcord, THE CHAINSAW OF TRUTH CLEAVES ITS WAY THROUGH THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS IN A SPLASH PAGE OF PURE ENERGY ERUPTING OUT OF THE DEMON WHERE THE CHAINSAW IS CUTTING THROUGH HIM!

The comic ends with two quick one panel stories. The first, with Batmage executing a final plan that The Batman Who Laughs had in place to unleash a final Bruce Wayne. Which only sounds mildly menacing, unti the art shows both a button with a watchmen-style frownie face and the final Bruce Wayne in silhouette, a glowing hydrogen atom on his forehead.

The other is a cut back to Sergeant Rock, still continuing with his tirade from the beginning of the comic before he is taken out of the moment by Batman coming to retrieve him for the big fight. And as Batman promises One last fight with everyone together, we get to see in silhouette that Sergeant Rock is missing his everything below his torso, revealing himself to likely be another resurrection from Bruce’s Black Lantern ring.

So, in summary, IM PUMPED TO SEE WHAT HEIGHTS THIS THING HITS! THE BIG MOMENTS WERE SO DAMNED COOL! THE ART IS STILL THE ABSOLUTE ALL KILLER NO FILLER THAT CAPULLO ROCKED OUT WITH IN THE LAST DARK NIGHTS METAL EVENT AND I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT NEW SPORES OF MADNESS HE GETS TO CREATE FOR THIS STORY! 

And while I’d like to be pure hype beast, that feels a little disingenuous when I do have some small moments that seem like they could be tweaked. Both of the long exposition scenes for the Dead Bats and the Positive Energy vs Crisis Energy could have potentially stood for another pass just to really tighten them up, but I will also admit that both those scenes kinda deserve to be long-winded. The Dead Bats to make sure that the setup for Batman with a Black Lantern Ring summoning an army at that point works and the Energy one because its explaining the entire setup for the rest of the event series and it helps lull things down so that the hype of Chainsaw of Truth can hit like it should. 

So yeah, this thing is absolutely something any Scott Snyder fan, any DC fan, heck Id almost venture to say anyone interested in comics read. None of the story elements of the comic intrinsically need you to know the backstory behind them, but there are definitely rewards for knowing DC continuity in general and Scott Snyder’s previous works in this arcing story. So yeah, I am going to sit here, vibrating in anticipation as I await the next issue of Death Metal from the Cowboys From Hell on their encore tour.

About the Primordials - Pontus and Thalassa, the Seas.

Continuing our series of posts about the protogenoi, the Primordial Gods, this time focusing on two very interesting deities that embody powerful aspects of existence: Thalassa and Pontus, the Seas.

Described by the illustrious Hesiod as the oldest Powers of the oceans, Pontus and Thalassa are the progenitors of all sea creatures, especially fish. Together they personify the liquid element itself and the vastness of the ocean, eternally mixed. Both Gods are described as the parents of the daimones called telkhines, described as deities with the head of a dog and the body of a seal responsible for the invention of metallurgy and forging the fearsome sickle of Kronos, the King of the Titans. Zeus, in scholiastic narratives alongside the roman Ovid, would have punished them for their evil use of magic and thrown them into Tartarus.

In Greco-Roman mosaics, Thalassa is depicted as a motherly woman dressed in seaweed, with horns that imitate the claws of a crustacean and holding an oar in her hand, while Pontus is depicted as the face of a mature, bearded man emerging from the water, with claws of a crustacean as horns and hair the colors of the sea.

Pontus himself is described as the father with Gaia, Mother Earth, of several sea-Gods: Nereus, the Old Man of the Seas, a maritime oracle and God of fish; Thaumas, God of the wonders of the sea; Phorcys and Keto, Gods of maritime horrors, monsters of the deep and whales and Eurybia, Goddess of the power over the seas.

Their names themselves are variations of the word sea in ancient Greek. Interestingly, Thalassa is described by the Orphics in their hymn as the mother of Aphrodite, a deity born from the union of the severed parts of the genitalia of Ouranos, the Sky-God, thrown into the sea.

And although at least one of these protogenoi has a hymn, the accounts of the worship of both are scarce in the most reliable sources, appearing more in poetic representations such as the ancient Theogony or the later Dionysiacas, by the greek writer Nonnus. Their functions and appearance are also curiously replicated by the titans Oceanus and Tethys, described as the parents of the rivers of the earth, of sea creatures and of several divinities, called oceanids.

Even so, there are fragments of prayers and descriptions by Pausanias that point to the presence of Thalassa in temples dedicated to Poseidon. In the writings of the Halieutica, a five-book guide to the art of fishing written in a homeric style, the Greco-Roman writer Oppian writes a dedication to the Gods of the sea (Daimones Thalassoi), including Thalassa among them.

Sobre os Primordiais - Ponto e Tálassa, os Mares.

Dando continuidade a nossa série de posts sobre os protogenoi, os Deuses Primordiais, desta vez focando em duas deidades interessantíssimas que encarnam aspectos poderosos da existência: Tálassa e Ponto, os Mares.

Descritos pelo ilustre Hesíodo como as Potências mais antigas dos oceanos, Ponto e Tálassa são os genitores de todas as criaturas do mar, principalmente os peixes. Juntos eles personificam o próprio elemento líquido e a vastidão oceânica, misturados eternamente. Ambos Deuses são descritos como pais dos daimones chamados de telquines, descritos como divindades com cabeça de cão e corpo de foca responsáveis pela invenção da metalurgia e pela forja da temível foice de Cronos, o Rei dos Titãs. Zeus, nas narrativas escoliásticas e do romano Ovídio, os teria punido por seu uso maligno de mágica e jogado-os ao Tártaro.

Nos mosaicos greco-romanos Tálassa é representada como uma mulher maternal vestida em algas, com chifres que imitam as pinças de um crustáceo e portando um remo na mão, já Ponto é representado como o rosto de um homem maduro e barbado emergindo da água, com pinças de crustáceo como chifres e cabelos nas cores do mar.

Ponto em si é descrito como o pai, junto a Gaia, a Mãe-Terra, de diversos Deuses do mar: Nereu, o Velho dos Mares, oráculo marítimo e Deus dos peixes; Taumante, Deus das maravilhas do mar; Fórcis e Ceto, Deuses dos horrores marítimos, monstros das profundezas e baleias e Euríbia, Deusa do poder de dominar os mares.

Os nomes deles em si são variações da palavra mar em grego antigo. De modo interessante, Tálassa é descrita pelos órficos em seu hino como mãe de Afrodite, deidade nascida da união das partes retalhadas da genitália de Urano, o Deus-Céu, atiradas ao mar.

E embora ao menos um destes protogenoi contem com um hino, os relatos de culto de ambos são escassos nas fontes mais confiáveis, aparecendo mais em representações poéticas como a antiquíssima Teogonia ou o tardio Dionisíacas, do escrito grego Nono. Suas funções e aspecto também são curiosamente replicadas pelos titãs Oceano e Tétis, descritos como pais dos rios da terra, dos seres marítimos e de diversas divindades, as oceânides.

Mesmo assim, há fragmentos de preces e descrições de Pausânias que apontam para a presença de Tálassa em templos dedicados a Poseidon. Nos escritos da Haliêutica, um guia de cinco livros sobre a arte da pesca em escrita símile ao estilo de Homero, o escritor greco-romano Opiano descreve uma prece para os Deuses do mar (Daimones Thalassoi), incluindo Tálassa entre eles.

PROLOGUE .  THE FALL.

DARK STORMCLOUDS PAINT THE SKY BLACK    ,    the  olympians  gather  around  to  witness  the  disgrace  of  one  of  their  own  .     the  younger  ones  cower  at  the  sight  of  their  king  standing  in  his  full  divinity , turning  their  heads  to  look  away , unable  to  stand  the  sight.   their  elders  ,   bring  a  hand  to  their  mouths  to  cover  their  yawns , time  was  due  for  their  beloved  sun  god  to  fall.    every  few  centuries ,  daring  to  push  their  king  past  his  limits ,  refusing  to  subject  himself  to  take  a  knee .   golden  suns  stare  down  the  eye  of  the  storm , challenging  the  mighty  zeus’s  authority  &&  stature.   

he  is  not  afraid  of  it  anymore , when  his  father  points  his  master  bolt  straight  at  apollo’s  chest , he  has  a  moment  of  relief  before  the  pain  seeps  in.  skull - shattering  thunder  ripping  through  his  mind  until  he  can  no  longer  hear  his  thoughts.  lightning  forking  across  the  sky  strikes  him  where  he  stands  and  as  the  ichor  is  burned  away  from  his  veins , the  younger  god  lets  out  one  last  cry  before  crashing  down  to  his  knees .  he  tears  through  the  marbled  floors  of  olympus ,  falling  straight  through  the  clouds  with  nothing  but  gaea’s  earth  to  soften  his  fall.  

ACT I.    THE PROPHECY

when  he  opens  his  eyes , it  is  as  any  other  day.   warm  brown  eyes  gloss  over  his  reflection  in  the  mirror , and  he  gets  ready  for  work.  an  unwavering  routine  that  he  does  not  stray  from  for  six  months.   

he  can  hear  their  voices  from  the  other  side  of  the  cafe.   three  women , dressed  more  elegant  than  the  place  called  for , capture  the  light  from  the  room.  they  are  the  only  ones  he  notices.  their  beauty  extending  to  the  entire  vicinity , moving  in  a  synchronicity  that  he  swears   must  be  a  trick  of  the  eye.  their  voices  snake  across  the  room , slithering  into  his  ears  incomprehensible.   he  wants  to  know  what  they  are  saying , because  even  behind  their  dark  glasses , he  knows  they  are  staring  at  him.   

his  feet  move  before  his  mind , and  he  stands  at  their  table ,   “  hello , ladies.  ”  the  words  fall  from  his  mouth  as  easily  as  greeting  old  friends.   “  i’m  damien , i’m  your  server , what  can  i  get  you  to  drink ?   ”     he  plasters  a  smile  across  his  face  to  conceal  the  wince  that  overcomes  him  at  the  sound  of  his  name . as  bitter  as  a  lie , it  burns  a  hole  through  his  tongue.    damien , damien , damien . no  matter  how  many  times  he  says  it , it  never  sounds  less  nauseating.  

the  first  one  speaks ,  her  arm  coming  to  wrap  around  his  wrist ,  “  it’s  nice  to  meet  you  ,  damien.   ”    she  shares  a  look  with  the  other  two , and  they  laugh  beside  him.  he  tries  to  pull  away  from  her , but  he  is  frozen  where  he  stands , her  delicate  grasp  anchoring  him  to  the  ground.     “   i’m  moira , and  these  are  my  sisters ,   faith  &&  cleo.   ”     

the  one  in  the  middle  meets  his  glare  and  spreads  her  painted-red  lips  into  a  wide  grin.   she  whispers  something  into  her  sister’s  ear  and  she  releases  his  wrist.   letting  out  a  breath , he  takes  a  few  steps  back ,  opening  his  mouth  to  speak , the  last  one  steals  the  words  right  from  his  lips  and  he  cannot  remember  how  to  breathe  let  alone  form  words.   quiet. 

the  rest  of  the  world  fades  away  and  unison  they  remove  their  glasses , and  show  him  the  truth.    the  three  of  them  see  through  one  eye ,  occupied  by  the  one  in  the  middle , the  other  two  stare  at  him  with  empty  sockets.   they  offer  him  a  glimpse  into  their  eye  and  the  vision  takes  him  over.

this storm has only just begun.  

but these clouds cannot hide the truth for long , light bringer.  

the sun must always rise.   

he  is  almost  afraid  to  move , but  the  words  are  already  fading  from  his  mind  and  he  does  not  wish  to  forget  them.  digging  through  his  apron  for  a  notepad , he  starts  to  scribble  down  their  every  words.   

the  vision  fades  and  he  glances  down  at  the  words  scrawled  onto  his  notepad , clinging  to  their  words  like  one  clings  to  hope , something  begins  to  awake  inside  of  him.  a  word , on  the  tip  of  his  tongue.   a  fire  begins  to  regain  momentum , and  is  extinguished  all  in  the  span  of  a  breath , for  when  he  looks  down , he  only  has  two  words  written :   LIGHT  BRINGER.

                                                            and the women are gone.

ACT II.  THE QUEST.

his  dreams  bring  him  to  the  beach , hands  digging  into  the  warm  sand  as  he  waits  for  the  sun  to  rise  from  the  water  and  breach  the  horizon.  he  stares  a  while , letting  his  eyes  wander  to  the  expanse  that  stretches  to  the  end  of  the  world. 

“  it  is  not  coming.  ”    a  disembodied  voice  tethers  itself  to  the  earth  and  finds  home  beside  him. where  there  was  nothing , was  now  a  dove  that  was  a  woman.  fair  and  beautiful , it  almost  hurts  to  look  at  her.   there  are  tears  falling  from  her  eyes , but  when  she  turns  to  him  her  face  lights  into  a  smile.  “  the  sun  has  not  risen  in  a  while ,  and  i’m  beginning  to  miss  it.  ”

“  of  course  it’s  coming , it’s  the  sun , it  can’t  just  not  be  there.   ”

“  look  for  yourself , damien , there  is  nothing  there.  ”   

his  eyes  find  the  horizon  and  he  cannot  believe  the  sight  in  front  of  him.   she  is  right , there  is  nothing.   it  is  not  there.   where  it  should  be  is  nothing  but  an  empty  space.    he  opens  his  mouth  and  whispers ,  “  where  is  it  ?  ”

ACT  III.   THE PATH OF LETO.    

even so far did leto, in birth-pangs with the far-shooter, wander to seek a land willing to serve as a home for her dear son.

his  feet  fall  to  the  island , desolate  and  barren.  devoid  of  life  and  all  that  it  was  ever  promised.   something  primordial  stirs  inside  of  him , a  vicious  cloud  fogging  his  memories ,  but  the  offset  feeling  is  deep  in  his  bones .    he  falls  to  his  knees  and  takes  a  fistful  of  dry  and  rocky  sand  and  lets  it  slip  through  his  fingers ,   “   what  happened  to  you ?  ”

the  earth  speaks  back  to  him , cries  of  agony  spread  through  the  air , killing  anything  that  dares  to  grow  in  this  wretched , god-forsaken  place.   nothing  could  survive  here , not  even  the  blessed  date-palm  tree  that  had  overseen  the  birth  of  delos’ god.         my far - shooter , apollo , thy  delian  king  has  abandoned  me  !   i  have  known  the  day  would  come .  i  gave  him  a  home , but  he  has  disgraced  it  for  something  with  more  beauty.    from  the  moment  the  fairest  leto  had  descended  upon  me , on  hands  and  knees  begging  me  to  house  her  son , i  had  known  he  would  dishonor  me  because  i  am  rugged  and  rocky.  overturn  me  with  his  feet , thrust  me  to  the  depths  of  the  seabrine ,  he  would  go  to  another  land , one  that  would  please  him.        the  ground  shakes  with  earth-wracking  sobs  at  the  rejection  from  it’s  greatest  treasure.

damien  cannot  move  from  his  spot , staring  at  the  island  with  pure  horror.   this was not right  !     rage  boils  inside  of  him , and  he  lays  his  palm  flat  on  the  ground ,   “   i  will  find  apollo.   i  will  find  him  and  i  will  make  him  fix  this.  ”   the  earth  quakes  settle  but  he  does  not  rise , grieving  a  moment , all  the  life  that  has  been  taken  from  this  place.   

ACT IV.  THE RECLAIMING

chaos  has  sprung  in  his  absence.   expunged  plagues  resurfacing  after  generations , the  clouds  refusing  the  give  way  to  the  light.  hope  in  the  mortal’s  eyes  have  dimmed  and  their  muses  no  longer  sing  for  them.   oh , but  worst  of  all , has  a  creature  sprung.  from  the  depths  of  tartarus  ,  the  last  of  gaea’s  children  ascend  back  to  the  mortal  world , and  reclaims  home  from  the  ruins  of  the  greatest  temple  man  has  ever  built.

it  is  his  last  hope , standing  in  front  of  what  used  to  be  the  temple  of  apollo.  it  is  the  last  place  he  has  to  look  for  this  missing  god.    his  feet  crunch  over  the  pebbles  and  lying  among  the  rubble  is  no  god. 

bigger  than  his  memories  could  fathom , it  curls  around  a  fallen  tripod  and  the  earth  beneath  it  dies.   his  head  alone  the  size  of  damien’s  entire  body , moving  faster  than  the  winds  that  brought  him  here ,   it’s  voice  slithering  down  his  spine  reminds  him  of  the  women  from  the  coffee  shop.   

“   have  you  come  to  reclaim  your  temple , phoebus.  ”   the  word  spat  like  venom  from  a  forked  tongue ,   “   go  ahead , try.   ” 

“   i  want  no  trouble  with  you , i  merely  seek  out  the  god  apollo.   ”

the  snake  raises  it’s  head  at  that , coming  to  loom  right  above  the  mortal  standing  in  front  of  him ,  he  whispers  so  the  heavens  cannot  hear ,  “  tsk , tsk.  such  a  radiant  thing  so  pathetically  condemned.    look  no  further , you  have  found  him.  ”

he  doesn’t  understand.   he  saw  nothing  but  the  creature  in  front  of  him  whose  name  could  not  have  been   apollo.   he  opens  his  mouth  to  speak , but  the  great  creature  did  not  give  him  a  chance.   faster  than  lightning , it  strikes  him , teeth  digging  into  the  flesh  of  his  leg , and  spitting  out  the  iron  that  falls  from  his  wound.  

“  this  was  so  much  more  fun  the  last  time  was  it  not ?   your  blood  no  longer  tastes  so  sweet ,   ”   despite  such  words , it  attacks  again , springing  into  motion  and  sinking  it’s  fangs  into  his  shoulder , spreading  venom  through  his  veins ,   “    i  want  gold , gold , gold .   ”     

the  loss  of  blood  begins  to  cloud  his  thoughts.  everything  that  he  had  thought  he’d  known  falling  from  his  grasp  as  he  crashes  to  the  ground.  palms  digging  into  the  dirt  pushing  himself  onto  his  elbows , he  is  barely  able  to  dodge  the  next  attack  from  the  creature  above  him  as  it  digs  it’s  teeth  into  the  ground  where  he  had  been  only  a  breath  before.

he  brings  his  hands  to  his  side  and   presses  against  the  wound  spilling  into  his  clothes , and  when  he  pulls  his  fingers  back  his  hands  are  covered  in  molten  gold.   the  voice  of  a  woman  fills  his  ears  and  the  two  words  she  speaks  awakens  the  force  deep  inside  of  him :   KNOW THYSELF.

his  lungs  need  more  air  than  they  are  capable  of  holding.  sucking  in  through  his  teeth , the  gold  melting  from  his  skin  is  beginning  to  boil.  flowing  as  fiery  as  the  phlegethon , it  spreads  from  his  hands  to  the  ends  of  his  toes.   brown  eyes  begin  to  glow  with  the  light  from  the  sun  as  the  clouds  begin  to  part.  sun  rays  stretch  from  the  sky  to  the  spot  he  lays  on  the  ground  and  forms  a  gilded  blade  that  sits  in  his  hands.  a  sword  forged  from  the  sun  gleams  brighter  than  the  light  reigniting  behind  his  eyes.   it  is  still  hot  to  the  touch , but  he  accepts  the  pain  as  his  fingers  wrap  around  the  hilt.   he  does  not  have  time  to  think  before  the  hissing  voice  of  the  python  grows  closer  to  him.   

he  swings  the  broadsword  into  a  large  golden  arch  and  he  invokes  the  strength  of  a  millennia.   the  sun  burns  the  sky  behind  him  as  light  is  brought  back  to  the  earth , with  the  force  of  a  thousand  stars , he  brings  the  sword  down  and  slices  the  giant  snake’s  head  clean  off.   it  writhes  and  seizes  before  it  dies , letting  out  a  simmering  hiss  as  tartarus  reclaims  dominion  over  the  escaped  infernal  creature. 

his  shoulders  heave  up  and  down  as  he  wipes  the  beads  of  sweat  falling  from  his  face. his  strength  returns  to  him  slowly  and  the  skin  torn  by  giant  teeth  begins  to  reform  together.   he  walks  up  to  the  temple , and  remembers  it  fondly  in  it’s  glory.   two  words  inscribed  in  stone  reflect  back  in  his  mind.   golden  eyes  find  the  sun  in  the  sky , and  his  glare  only  sharpens  ,   “   i  am  phoebus  apollo ,  the  god  of  light , and  i  remember  everything.   ”

A Spirit of Meekness...📖Numbers 12:3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) "Meaning the face of the earth had Moses to offer to the Face of God". It is written, 📖Numbers 12:6-8 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house meaning Moses was faithful in the entire Body of Christ. "The True Israel is faithful in the entire body of CHRIST". The Lord says, With him will I speak mouth to mouth(IN OTHER WORDS FACE TO FACE), even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude(the quality or state of being similar to something) of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore(GOD ASKED) then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? The Lord said directly, Wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? Now concerning the two witnesses which would represent a servant of God by the Spirit of Prophecy. In the Spiritual vision of Jesus, Peter, James, and John on the high Mountian represent a visual understanding by the Word of God, it is written, Jesus name represents{GOD'S SALVATION} and Peters name represents the{STONE}, and James name represents {Iakob-Jacob-Ya'aqov{ISRAEL}, and Johns name represents {Ioannes-Yochanan- YAHWEH is gracious}. So in the Holy context of the words, {GOD'S SALVATION}, the word {STONE}, and the word {ISRAEL}, and the word {YAHWEH}, would bring us to an understanding of, "God's Salvation who is Jesus the Christ is the finished purified Stone meaning Cornerstone of the Spiritual Israel who is the stone purified by the Spirit of God because God is gracious" Would anyone disagree with this based on those words in holy context by the Holy Scriptures❓ Moses who is one of the OLIVE TREES name represents {SON-DELIVER-DREW OUT} so in other words, Moses is the son who delivers and draws out God's people meaning the remnant before the great and terrible day of the Lord" according to 📖Zechariah 4:11-14  and 📖Matthew 17:1-3 and 📖Revelation 11:1-4  and 📖REVELATION 11:6-13. The angel of the presence is one of the 7 Holy ones before God's throne. The 7 churches are ONE within Christ Jesus, so where are we in our walk with God today❓ HE THAT OVERCOMES SHALL, 🎇1. I give to eat of the tree of life HE THAT OVERCOMES SHALL, 🎇2. shall not be hurt of the second death/I will give thee a crown of life HE THAT OVERCOMES SHALL, 🎇3. I give to eat of the hidden manna/give him a white stone/in the stone a new name written/no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it HE THAT OVERCOMES SHALL, 🎇4. I give power over the nations[SERVE]/a rod of iron/I will give him the morning star HE THAT OVERCOMES SHALL, 🎇5. shall be clothed in white raiment/I will not blot out his name out of the book of life/I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. HE THAT OVERCOMES SHALL, 🎇6. I make a pillar in the temple of my God/I will write upon him the name of my God/the name of the city of my God which is new Jerusalem/I will write upon him my new name. HE THAT OVERCOMES SHALL, 🎇7. I grant to sit with me in my throne/as I also overcame/am set down with my Father in his throne, meaning "I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one". It is written, 📖John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Because it is written in, 📖1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God, Because WE belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God according to 📖1 Corinthians 3:23. It is written for the Church, according to 📖Revelation 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. It all points to 📖Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him, It is written, "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD, and there is no other TRUEGod beside Him". The Cyclopes ( Κυκλωπες, lit. orb-eyed) were one-eyed primordial beings, children of Ouranos (Uranus, the sky) and Gaia (Gaea, the earth). He felt like it was getting harder to breathe. Everything was starting to blend together, Tartarus a blur. He was so tired, but he didn’t see a way out. The only option he had was to keep going up.

The great majority of the modern church is continuing in the flesh. We as overcomers must realize that our warfare must be waged in the spiritual battlegrounds. (II Corinthians 10:4 and the flesh profiteth nothing. (John 6:63).

The Unions are attempting to control the minds of their members and everyone looking on by a block labor vote. The fluent pen of the union is funneled into 15 million Americans' homes through their publications. I bind all evil spirits in the heavenlies. I command the spirits of witchcraft out of (home, business, schools, area counties, countries) and to go into Tartarus. As I call your names you are to go now... (name all witchcraft spirit that come into your mind). Father, send your angels and escort the evil spirits to Tartarus and place an angelic guard there so they never can return.

It accounts for the dirtiness, for the orneryness, it accounts for why we say, "Boys will be boys," "Kids will be Kids", it accounts for the destruction, for the inefficiency, it is in every way the opposite of what you would expect a first class overcomer's life to be.

PRAYER AGAINST WITCHCRAFT IN THE HOME

I command the curses and power of curses to be smashed and broken that are in and around my home and family. I cast out all marriage-breaking curses, divorce curses, strife, argument, poverty, failure, need, rivalry spirits, to be cast into the deepest abyss in Jesus Name.

I cast out and command all related witchcraft spirits to go into the deepest abyss. As I call your name (name them) you must go now in Jesus Name.

PAUL DEALS WITH A SORCERER

Acts 13:6-12 "And when they had gone through the isle unto Papos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus. Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. Then Saul, (who is called Paul) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. And said, O full of all subtlety and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness, and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord."

This demonstration of power caused the deputy to believe. (A soul was saved.) We can do the same today.

WITCHCRAFT IN THE HOME

Witchcraft is after your home. Your marriage, has been bombarded by marriage-breaking spirits and divorce spirits. These curses are generated by powerful witches' covens. Recently there was a group in Africa that cursed every Christian marriage in America and every Christian home. Now your children are constantly bombarded by witches' covens and by the devil by the use of witchcraft. It causes them to be rebellious, to be for violence and anger to enter them.

This is not only done to your children and your home, but your husband is being bombarded on every side, business, entertainment, recreation, education, and I mean it's a closed-in situation and I mean witchcraft is abounding every time you turn around.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through pornographic magazines.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through pornography in ads.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through drug peddlers.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through the seducing scenes, and rebellious scenes on television and movies.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through rock music and through much of the country music.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through whiskey ads, beer ads, smoking ads.

It's witchcraft attacking your home by the depicting of white magic and white witchcraft for good.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through the astrology, signs of the zodiac, self-help programs, self hypnosis programs.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through tobacco, the seducing ads in the tobacco industry.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through the games of the Rubik's cube and some of the eye-catching electronic games, including Nintendo, etc.

It's witchcraft attacking your home through the mind, boggling medicine that he doctor dispenses, such as tranquilizers, and the pain pills. The word medicine in the scriptures is used only as "cure", never as "relief."

The pyramid and its power or force has crept into the home in many ways. A pyramid shaped cover for plants was promoted at one time. The promoters said you could grow plants faster under it and stimulate the plants. Also advertised was a pyramid shaped stove with mysterious heating ability, and a pyramid paper weight. Some people were even creating a pyramid by putting a thumbtack in the top of a door frame and running a string to the opposite sides to the bottom, and then sitting under this pyramid to draw power and to refresh themselves. All these have been perpetrated upon the home.

WITCHCRAFT IS NOT NEW

Acts 8:9,10 "But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one. To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God."

This man (Simon) came to them and did wonders in the name of the Lord.

Acts 8:11-13 "And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done."

It takes the power of Jesus Christ to turn witchcraft off and to make believers. This is done through prayer and fasting and DELIVERANCE from the witchcraft demons.
