I know these next few episodes are supposed to be Tarlos driven, but I also think I’m going to lower my expectations for this coming episode on Monday because I think it will be more TK/Owen/Enzo driven and also Tommy’s got a big storyline as well as the big call Wyatt will have. I think episode 8-9 will probably have more of Tarlos in the forefront. I just know that a lot of people may have a lot of Tarlos expectations for Monday and I don’t think they’ll have a huge part together, other than being ridiculously in love husbands.

I think sometimes we as a fandom gotta get better at taking the things Ronen says at conventions with many grains of salt because a) often they are not on video but reported back through people who were there so the things that spread on twitter aren’t exact quotes (I’m looking at you, people who said he said a spin-off was confirmed when he didn’t say that at all), b) Ronen often hasn’t seen the final cuts of the episodes so he’s referring to scenes that were shot but might be edited differently than he’s imagining, and c) it’s all about his perception and what he means by phrases like “tarlos heavy” and whether that gets twisted into something he didn’t necessarily mean by fandom interpretation and speculation. I don’t think this time he necessarily meant “tarlos are gonna get 30 minutes of screen time of just them on screen together having long deep conversations”. I think he probably meant these episodes contain a storyline (or perhaps multiple storylines) that involve both TK and Carlos will affect their lives going forward. There are other characters getting their own stories concurrently, like you said, and often pivotal scenes in this show are very short (I’m thinking of like the “I’m not going anywhere” “you better not” scene from 4x18, which is one of my favourite scenes in the entire series but it’s also literally like 90 seconds long). So yes. I think temper your expectations, remember that something Ronen said at a con three months ago that was relayed to us second hand is very susceptible to fandom misinterpretation, and enjoy whatever the episode brings :)

(1) What is your favourite 911 Lone Star Found Family moment? I think either the tarlos wedding with everyone happy and in a party mood, or Marjan's welcome home party/the whole firefam camping out in the hospital waiting for news. Specifically that moment when the doctor asks for Marjan Marwani's family and they all raise their hand. (and of course that also gave us the cute tarlos cuddle with TK sleeping on Carlos' bicep)

(2) Which platonic pairing/friendship dynamic are you most looking forward to seeing again in season 5? I'd say Carlos & Grace but... *sobs*, I like Owen and Judd as bffs, I'm curious about how Wyatt is going to fit into it all, and TNT or just TK and Nancy. And Nancy & Marjan if the writers won't give me Nancy/Marjan romantically.

(3) If you could pick one Lone Star character to be friends with, who would you choose? Oh I don't know. All of them would be fun friends! But I think I'd like to be friends with Marjan. She seems like the kind of friend to just text you "be ready at 10" and not tell you anything else - but you end up having the best day of your life.

Actually - I think I'd befriend Owen so I could hang out with Buttercup!

(4) Which would you rather attend: Catan night at the loft or game night at the Ryder house? Oh Catan all the way. Carlos' snacks alone sealed the deal!

(5) A character of your choice ends up in jail. Who would they call to bail them out (assuming their romantic partner, parent, and/or child didn't pick up)? I'm just going to do all of them - i can't choose. I think Owen would call TK at first but he's enjoying date night with Carlos so neither of them answer... I think he'd call either Judd or Gabriel. Depending on how much trouble he's in. TK - Nancy or Tommy. Sometimes you need your bff to call you an idiot, sometimes you need your work mum to pick you up and give you a hug - and hope neither of them tell your husband. Carlos - Grace or Paul. Either of them would have him out in 10 seconds flat. Marjan - Paul or Nancy. I want the girls to stick together but I love her friendship with Paul too. Nancy - TK or Marjan. Though TK might be in jail with her and she'd end up calling Carlos to get them both out - much to TK's displeasure. Judd - Owen or Tommy. Tommy is probably the better bet since Owen would probably be in jail with him. Grace - Carlos or Tommy. Carlos is her crime solving partner, Tommy is her partner in crime! Paul - Marjan or Carlos. Marjan if he wants someone to literally break him out of jail, Carlos if he wants someone to actually get him out of trouble. Mateo - Marjan. That's his big sister! Though any member of the 126 would do really. Tommy - Grace. Hands down. But maybe Owen who could call Carlos or Gabriel if she needed any "official" help.

I’ve assigned each kiss prompt I received a number and am using a random number generator to choose which prompt to write because I got quite a few from you all! a kiss for comfort

TK curls onto his side and stares at the wall until his vision blurs. He can hear the sounds of Carlos in the kitchen: the click of two mugs being set down on the counter, the refrigerator door being opened and closed, the sizzle of something hitting a hot frying pan – probably Carlos making eggs for breakfast.

He rolls over and buries his face in Carlos’ pillow. He should get up, he knows that. He’s got a shift this morning too. But he just feels … grey, muted.

“Babe?” Carlos calls softly as he comes into their bedroom later. “Are you getting up?”

“I should,” TK mumbles into the pillow.

The mattress sinks a little as Carlos sits beside him and strokes his hair. “You don’t have to. You can call in, Tommy will understand. I can call in sick too and we can just stay here or on the couch and watch movies and order in Chinese.”

He rolls onto his back so he can see Carlos, only to find his husband staring down at him with so much love and concern shining in his eyes that TK closes his against the force of it.

“It’s been five years, why do I still feel like this?”

Carlos moves again and this time TK feels the comforter being lifted as Carlos slides underneath it, settling on top of TK with his elbows braced on either side of his head. He presses a soft kiss to TK’s forehead.

“Grief isn’t linear, sweetheart. And she’s your mother. Of course you miss her.”

“I really do,” TK admits and a tear slips out of the corner of his eye. Carlos wipes it away gently with his thumb.

“What do you need?”

He tilts his head up a little, sliding an arm around Carlos’ waist. “Just you.”

“You’ve got me,” Carlos murmurs before kissing TK gently. His lips are warm and soft, the feeling of them lingering against his own sending a pleasant hum through his body. “Do we need to stay home today? Or do you want to stay home alone?”

“I’ll go to work,” TK decides. “Better to stay busy. Might try and call Enzo and Jonah later when he’s home from school.”

“Okay,” Carlos says easily. “You should eat first though, I’m making breakfast burritos.”

TK holds onto Carlos when he tries to get up. “In a minute.”

Carlos doesn’t resist, dropping himself down back onto TK, burying his face in TK’s neck and TK lets the familiar, steadying weight of his husband ground him as he steels himself to face the day.

Later, he knows Carlos will text Nancy and TK will spend the day at work surrounded by his family, all ready to catch him if he stumbles. Later, TK will talk to Jonah and read his favourite book to him over FaceTime with silly voices. Later, they’ll order all of his mom’s favourite foods and eat them with his dad and laugh and probably cry over their favourite memories of her. Later, Carlos will hold TK and help him forget his grief with the sweet slide of his lips, the slide of his tongue and a well-practiced touch when TK asks him to.

But for now, TK spools in the tendrils of love that Carlos is covering him with, drawing strength from him and reminding himself that despite the way his heart aches for his mother, he feels wholly and completely loved.

And she’d be so happy to know that.

This is such a difficult question! I love baking, and cookies are probably my favorite things to bake (and eat). After a lot of thought, I've decided to judge my favorites by the ones I eat the quickest after making them (and I will include recipe links as well!):

Iced pumpkin cookies--these are basically like little pumpkin cakes. They're so good.

Cowboy cookies--chocolate chips, pecans, oats and coconut...so delicious!

Special K cookies--cookies made with Special K cereal, my mom would make these all the time when I was a kid and I could never get enough.

As far as season 5, other than the obvious set ups leftover from last season, I'd like:

A good Nancy storyline, preferably with some backstory.

2. Of course, I want as much Tarlos as possible, and I'd like something that shows us their continued growth as a couple. Season 4 did such an amazing job of showing that, and it's something that I hope very much will continue into husbands era.

3. I want either Carlos or TK to end up in the hospital and I want to SEE them in a hospital bed. Even though TK is the one we've seen hurt the most, I think I lean towards wanting to see him there again. The other times TK was badly hurt, he and Carlos weren't in a committed relationship and Carlos felt unsure of whether he was even wanted at TK's bedside...I want to see Carlos' reaction to his HUSBAND almost dying. But I will gladly take it the other way around too. 4x04 did not satisfy my desire for hurt Carlos!

4. I want more of my favorite character dynamics, including but not limited to TK and Judd, Owen and Carlos, Paul and Carlos, TNT, Marjan and Paul, TK and Andrea, etc.

5. I want constant reminders that TK and Carlos are husbands. They both better be using the word "husband" constantly!

Searching for a Trail to Follow by @middyblue — another friend who wrote another beautiful Tarlos fic. I knew it would be incredible because middy is one of my all time fav Schitt’s Creek authors. 🥰🥰

espero ese momento by @lilythesilly — this was one of the first Tarlos fics I ever read! And that’s because it was written by Lily who writes some of the most beautiful words. She has written more LS fics since that just as lovely.

Running Into You by @three-drink-amy — there’s little I love more than a 5+1. And this 5+1 features Tarlos as husbands so what is not to love?! This is also her first LS fic after me bugging her for literal years to write Tarlos and the wait was totally worth it. She’s also written 2 Tarlos fics since that are also so, so good.

A Case of Cruel to be Kind by @maxbegone — An About Time Tarlos AU!!!! My favourite movie and fav ship?! Let’s go. Ally put her whole heart into this. It’s 10 chapters of love and grief and healing and growth. I love it very much.

WIP - Tarlos Tag (Snippet?)

Thanks for the tag! I honestly don't know what the tag was about but I enjoyed reading yours and wrote something random too lol @tarlosmalec

Carlos's hand clasped around TK's knee as he took a seat on the couch next to him leaving little to no gap space between them both. He didn't know why they still hadn't invested in a smaller couch at this point into the relationship because the rest wasn't sat upon.

A gentle smile crossed his face as his husbands head pressed against his bare shoulder without a single word said between them both. He counted his blessings that fate had brought TK (line-dancing?) into his life. He could still remember the first time he'd looked at TK. He'd made, maybe, the biggest life choice of his own life in that one night.

"Do you know that this is the favourite part of my night?"

It was the moment that he always dreamed about back in childhood. Being in love and having someone love him back. It was pure bliss. Love didn't always need to be conversations. It could be touch too.

TK hummed something incoherent as he turned his head to press a kiss against Carlos's shoulder, before, deciding to just straddle him.

Carlos's eyebrows raised as TK's mouth started to kiss at his neck. Well, that was unexpected, ... yet still a nice surprise.

"What about this part?"

Carlos sat back against the back of the couch with a satisfied look on his face as TK's hands started to fumble with his uniform pants - knowing full well what was going to come next.

"Hm, remind me? I might need to re-think my choice of words."

Watching TK scoff out loud, playfully whack a hand against his chest, before sliding down onto his knees was definitely his favourite part.

They do deserve a vacation but I love them at home too - I don't have a preference there.

Can it be a combo of the 126 and Carlos' sisters meddling? I love fics where Carlos' sisters make it their mission to either embarrass their little brother in front of TK or get them (back) together. Same with the 126 crew. Like a this marriage does not have 2 people in it but two families kind of deal.

Tarlos + holding hands across the table 💙

TK can’t help but think about another time he’d sat across from his partner in a fancy restaurant and how far he’s come since then. Looking back, he can’t believe he ever thought that Alex was his soulmate.

Of course, he didn’t know Carlos then. He didn’t know what it was like to be loved unconditionally by someone who chose to do so, by someone who makes the conscious decision to love him each and every day. He didn’t know what it was to be loved by someone who loved all of him – not inconsiderable flaws and all.

He knows now though.

Carlos tells him that he’s loved in a thousand different ways every day. He tells him in the way that he cooks him breakfast and makes his coffee, and in the way that he pushes TK to call Cooper when he knows that he can’t give him what he needs in that moment. He tells him when he asks Tia Lucy to make TK’s favourite foods for Sunday lunch and endures the good-natured teasing from his cousins when TK can’t keep his hands off him. He tells him in the gentle kisses he presses to TK’s forehead when he has to leave for a shift while TK is sleeping. He tells him in the not so gentle way he fucks TK into the mattress and in the way he gives up control to let TK take him apart with his fingers and follows them with his tongue. He tells him by never letting them leave for their respective shifts without saying “be safe, I love you” because time has shown them that anything can happen and where TK is concerned, the improbable is far more probable than it should be.

“Babe? Where’d you go?” Carlos asks, running his fingers across TK’s wrist before taking his hand.

TK looks at their hands linked on the table, the contrast of Carlos’ brown skin against his, golden ring glinting in the candle light.

“I’m right here,” TK says, smiling softly. “With my husband.”

seven sentence sunday monday

Carlos frowns in confusion, but then TK smiles bashfully and steps to the side, revealing the table covered in the cloth his mother gifted them as an engagement present, their best place settings laid out, and a cluster of small candles in the middle. A bottle of sparkling cider rests in an ice bucket, and, to top it all off, the soft, lilting notes of Carlos’s favourite Mexican tunes playing in the background.

“Babe…” He takes two steps forward, then turns around, shaking his head at TK. “What is this? Have I forgotten something?”

“Nope,” TK says, popping the ‘p’. He moves towards Carlos and grabs his hands, swinging them gently between their bodies. “Do I need an excuse to spoil my husband-to-be?”

“Otherwise known as your fiancé.”

TK grins and draws Carlos’s arms up and around his waist until his hands rest lightly on the small of his back. He brings his own hands up to Carlos’s neck, his thumb brushing gently at the underside of his jaw. “Hmm, husband sounds better,” he says, tongue darting out to wet his lips.

“Just a couple more months, baby,” Carlos whispers, his last words swallowed by TK’s mouth as he joins them in a kiss.

Hey guys, so as I said on my last post I'm really behind on 9-1-1 Lone Star because aI've been so busy with work and moving house. I've just posted my thoughts on 2x10 so if you'd like, you can go read that first. I'e only just watched 2x11, and unfortunatly I have to say I have some mixed feelings about this episode, but this still has to be one of my favourites. If you are like me and your are behind on the show, this will contain !!!spoilers!!!

My thoughts on this episode:

-I'm glad Owen actually decided to go through with the surgery, I really wouldn't have been surprised if something happened to stop it, like Owen changing his mind again.

-Owen, seriously it's 3-4 weeks, just take your time and rest. This obsession with work will get you killed or in serious trouble *foreshadowing*

-Carlos and TK are now a couple who give joint gifts and I love that. And that was a very nice box for a jigsaw, It seems like something Carlos would pick out more that TK. But it was an adorable jigsaw.

-So much for resting Owen, for the love of god. But that was a very nice montage. Love how they're showing how bored he is by taping up thing to the point of unnecessary. But there was a suspicious lack of my favourite bernese mountain dog.

-As soon as I saw Billy, I knew everything was going to go downhill. I was right.

-I can understand Owen running into the burning building, he is a firefighter after all, it's his instincts. But Owen sweetie, Judd is acting captain, let him be acting captain.

-Owen speaking to the arson investigator and giving a profile that describes himself was just a facepalm moment.

-Loved the truck rescue with the young couple, but I was so heartbroken for Marjan.

-GROUP NIGHT AT CARLOS AND TK'S PLACE!!!! YES!!

-Oh my god. The Tarlos cow eyes scene absolutly killed me, I had to rewind it like 5 times to rewatch it. Carlos turning from confused to smug and sexy in 2 seconds and TK blushing and being unable to look at him in the eyes was heart stopping.

-"Absolutly wrecks people" Yeah we know who those eyes wreck TK. But seriously I have never seen a more accurate description of Carlos' eyes that this. And this show that TK thinks about Carlos' eyes so much he's given his looks names.

-I'm so glad to see Nancy at the gathering this time, even if we didn't get to see much of her,

-loved that they used Tarlos in the actual episode. And Tarlos being a great team and wrecking everyone at Catan was incredible.

-I felt so sorry for Marjan, that she did eveything she could to save the womans husband and she goes and posts that video. Then for Marjan to get so much hate to the point she starts to doubt herself. My poor queen.

-I absolutly adored seeing Paul and Marjan together and Paul being agood friend for her. Its great to see the other characters get more screen time.

-OWEN!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING MAN!!??! This guy really thought, 'I know the best way to prove there is an arsonist going around, I'm going to buy lots of different accelerants and wiring and preform experiments in my back garden in full view of my neighbours. This won't at all look suspicious' The man has really lost the plot.

-When Owen started showing Billy what he's been doing, I started to get a really bad feeling. We all know Billy is the one who shows the arson investigator the photo of Owen at a scene of a fire, and now I don't know whether Billy is the one setting the fires or he genuinely believes its Owen after seeing his experiments. I hope it's the latter as I feel the former is just lazy writing.

-Carlos and TK having dinner with Carlos' parents is something I've been waiting for, for ages.

-Marjan and Paul visiting the widow and Marjan's speach was incredible, it showed so much emotion and really got me tearing up. Then finding her in her bath tub made me tear up more. I like that Marjan also made sure the paramedics and police wouldn't post anything about her attempt on her life.

-I really loved the different interactions Carlos has with his parents, like his mother he seems much more open with, hugging her and fully smiling at her. But with his father, you can tell he's much more nervous with him, not fully hugging him amd giving him more nervous and wary smiles. After all this is someone who has been questioning his choices and putting him down for years,

-Andrea calling TK handsome was great. And I like her appologising for calling him TJ at the market. I loved that 'had a talk about that' between Carlos and TK for him not correcting his mother and the fact that it can be joked about between them. Andrea and Gabriel's look towards them though was adorable and just showed that the approved of TK.

-Carlos' panic at forgetting the limes was adorable, and I was not prepared for his wink towards TK after he called his dad to pick up the limes.

-I've said it before and I'll say it again. OWEN!!! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING MAN!!!! Way to make youself look more guilty. Breaking and entering, tampering with a crime scene, and trespassing, is a surfire way to get yourself arrested or hurt. And look you achived both. I swear this man has no brain cells left.

-Of course the man gets knocked out. Now he's gonna miss the dinner. I also really hope we continue the dinner scene in 2x12 otherwise this will be another Tarlos moment we've missed.

All in all, I greatly enjoyed this episode except for a few Owen Strand bumps. And I am counting down the days until I can see 2x12.

I've done this before, but that was back in March and the only one of those lines that was in the last post is the one from 16 Years, because it was a WIP back then.

I think the pattern is that most of them set up the situation. My favourites are the one from Fires, and the one from Pain Never Stops coming because that one just makes me laugh outside the not at all funny context of the story.
