Getting my shit together

04/08/19

WOAH. It’s been a hot min. Where to start! I finished up 90% or my first year of school in 7 months and got a wicked job out of it that pays me VERY well. I am running theatre summer camps at the Preschool I will be working at part time come the fall. I got a personal trainer which was a hugely scary and intimidating thing for me to do, but now, 3 months in, have been LOVING every min of it. I am working so hard on my mental health and making myself a priority. Something I realized is how far I have come in a year. I’m out of a relationship that was not the best for me, my childhood traumas don’t affect my every day life like they used to, and I am so much more confident in who I am as a person and feel so much more at home in my body. I have worked so hard for so long. Doing all that work was awful at times and completely overwhelming at times. Therapy really kicked my butt at the beginning. But here I am, on the other side of it, and I am SO proud of how far I have come in the past year. I am in a career path that I am extremely passionate about, I found a new way to release my stress and improve my mental health, and I am finally feeling normal around food! I am starting th think about the possibility of moving out, and starting to think about traveling after I finish up my final year of school. Those are both really big steps for me. I have always been codependent and a total homebody, not one to step outside my comfort zone. But these two things would push my world view and my comfort zone further and further. I find that incredibly overwhelming but also super exciting. I’m taking some time to focus more on me, so not much dating. Dating fucking sucks. I went out with one dude who was a tarable human, sexist, racist, fat phobic, believed in a perfect race, etc, and I after that I thought “ I don’t need to be doing this any more”. (Even though I do have a date on Friday). I still need to work on my pelvic floor stuff. Since I haven’t had sex in 8 MONTHS my pelvic floor has not been so bad, but I need to work on it, so when I do have sex, it won’t hurt. I am looking into canabis spray and dipositiries to see if those will help, but I’ve only had good sex maybe once in my life, and that was a drunk one night stand with the love of my life when I was in my late teens. Speaking of that. When will I experience kissing that makes me melt again. I realized that during that hookup I never had that in my relationship. The kisses that feel like fire works or melting. Those were the best kisses and I would love to experience those again. I think the thing I miss most about being in a relationship is the companionship. I miss having a person always there for you. But that will come when the time is right. Oh! Ya bitch is going to start driving soon. Now that I don’t experience derealization (knock on wood) anymore, I can finally get behind the wheel! Thank goodness because I am going crazy. Anyway, this is just a little reminder to me how far I have come and how hard I have worked on myself and my mental health. Good things are coming my way. Please also send a good dick my way, I’m going a little bit crazy.

The Prelude

There are many points in one’s life that you are able to reinvent yourself and point yourself in a new direction. Today is that day and I have sent new goals and higher standards for myself, Beginning this program has given me a unique opportunity to not only reinvent myself, but to do so while learning how I can build skills to further my brand, Tarable Thoughts. I joined the Public Relations  program to develop my skills in branding companies and to maximize my own platform in the process.

 Tarable Thoughts is my social media platform that mixes the need for an outlet and motivation for other women and men with my love for beauty, music, and travelling. The name is a play on words that I thought of when I felt like my voice did not matter because my perspective was too different or unpopular. I have since changed it to be unique, sought after, and valued. My goal for Tarable Thoughts is for it to expand on all social media platforms and eventually into its own website fully equipped with advertisements, blogs, and business partnerships.

Over the next 12 months, I hope to fully immerse myself into the field of Public Relations. I want to learn everything I can and while tracking my progress on my Mastery Journal. I will use everything I learn in my current position and gain invaluable experience, and any projects or assignments I have will be geared towards furthering Tarable Thoughts so that I can track the growth of the brand I am trying to build. Mentally I want to grow out of procrastination and the self-doubt I carry and really push myself. I know that I contain limitless potential, and by the end of this program, it will be fully realized.

New Year’s Update

Happy new year from Mirrored Translations!  あけましておめでとうございます！

The Bad News I know the vast majority of you followed this blog for Monogatari series translations. However, a big motivation for why I choose what I translate is sharing a story with an audience that has no other way of experiencing it. The fast pace of Vertical’s releases, coupled with Shaft’s recent announcement of an anime adaptation of Zoku Owarimonogatari, indicates a strong possibility that the wonderful stories of Off Season will not only be brought to the screen over the next couple years, but in the following years will be officially published in English as well. Nothing is certain, but we won’t know Shaft or Vertical’s plans for a while. Until then, I will not do any Monogatari series novel translations, which unfortunately includes my Sodachi Fiasco retranslation project. (I may do miscellaneous Monogatari translations, like short stories.)

The Good News So, what the heck am I going to do? Well, it seems like Tarable has ambitions plans for translating the Ningen series, and I’m more than happy to take up the mantle of Saikyou series translator. Because this series is a spinoff of Zaregoto and Zaregoto itself is unlikely to ever receive a full official translation, there’s no threat of an official translation of Saikyou for an exceedingly long time. The Saikyou series, to be specific, is made up of anthologies of stories written for the Mephisto magazine about Jun Aikawa, Desert Eagle, Overkill Red, ultimate weapon and humanity’s strongest contractor. She’s one of Nishio’s most iconic characters, and I hope I do her justice. As of now I’m in the process of translating two Saikyou stories: “Humanity’s Strongest Ardent Love” and “Jun Aikawa’s Blunders, Miss/ion 4: Battle of Wits with the Digital Detective”. If I finish those, I will probably proceed to translate “Humanity’s Strongest Temptation” (the story of the famous Doctor Coffeetable), but by then there will likely be another Saikyou book out with more options to choose from.

The Weird News One of the ways I keep myself motivated is having a variety of material to work with, i.e. material from different books or series. There is a chance--slim, but a chance nonetheless--that I do some wacky stuff this year like Nishio’s Sekai series or his surrealist standalone book Ningyou ga Ningyou (I’ve been meaning to read the Sekai series for a while, but I have to finish a couple more Ningen books before I’m satisfied). All in all, Mirrored Translations will be a “Nishio Ishin fan translation blog”. I’m also lowkey starting a lewd translation blog tentatively titled “Pink Mirror” (for doujins, which I do very occasionally and usually upon request). Who knows? There may be even sillier things coming. This year promises to be... unpredictable, at the very least.

I’m sorry for the length of this post, but I hope everyone has a worthwhile 2018!

No comic update today! Sorry!

I am currently on vacation with family this week, so rather than have a normal comic update I made a new character sheet for you guys!

Heyo everybody! I wanted to put this up to actually give peeps enough time to see it- I’m planning on giving a streaming schedule a try. I will be doing a mini-stream on my Discord server on Sundays and Wednesdays at around 8:00/8:30pm Central Standard Time to about 11:00pm. This will of course be dependent on whether my little one actually goes to bed when he’s supposed to. XD

I’ll be working on all sorts of things- from the comic to commissions to doodles. If you’d like to drop in to say hello or watch me fiddle around we’d love to have you. :> See you then!

A New Tarable Update

Heyo!

So I come bearing both good news and bad news. I’ll just rip off the band-aid and start with the bad news-

I’m going to be switching Fallen Flowers comic updates to every-other week. Ouch!

Now for the good news!

This is going to be a temporary arrangement. Newborns are hard to take care of. Who knew? xD So to maintain my sanity I’m switching to this schedule with the intent of returning to a weekly update.

Now for some even better news!

I have a Discord server now! While I’m working on the comic (or just art in general) I will be posting wip’s and various updates HERE! Come in and have a chat! :>

No update and Hiatus (sorry)

Tarable Husband here. Tara's currently in labor. Both she and Baby are fine so far. No update today. Don't expect a comic update for the next 2 weeks or so (though that entirely depends on how Tara feels about things after all this is over). Expect hatchling pic or so when she gets her energy back, though.

Good news everyone!

I have completed my backlog (check out the wips tab over at the Tarable Discord server for a sneak peak of the pages) and Fallen Flowers is ready to go off hiatus!

I will be resuming my Sunday upload schedule so stay tuned for this weekend and check out the new page.

Tonight should be a normal Wednesday stream night, so drop on by and chill out with us while I work on future comic pages!
