Dragon Discards Getaway [NA]

Were you manipulated by a dragon, only to be tossed aside to find your own fate when they kicked the bucket? Tired of being a spectacle or cautionary tale? Want to spend time with people who won’t ask the same annoying questions?
Join me in Southsun for a Dragon Discards Getaway. Refreshments provided. BYOS (bring your own seating).
Getting There:
I recommend sailing west from Lion Point Waypoint, but if this is your first trip to the island, you can also navigate along the southern and western coast from Camp Karka Waypoint. Be advised that this route is longer and more dangerous.
The event is held on a very tall ledge. I will use a shadow portal to transport anyone lacking a skyscale from the cliff base to the event site.
Event Rules:
Keep it civil. If you want to fight, take it somewhere out of sight, out of earshot, and outside the event space. [This rule applies to both IC and OOC. Some events allow for mild IC confrontation, but this one does not.]
This is an exclusive event. If you do not meet the criteria, you cannot attend. We are not spectacles for your entertainment. [note - that's only an IC restriction, so there's nothing stopping your character from lying to get in. Additionally, OOC lurking is fine and does not break this rule – but indicate this with a balloon novelty or by staying off-group, please!]

1.) Fandoms
My blog is, as a rule, not affiliated with any of the fandoms that my muses come from, and are largely products of my own headcanons, I'll list on the muse page which muses are fully canon divergent and which ones follow canon, as it can vary depending on how I feel about the media they come from.
2.) Basic RP Etiquette
Don't control or override the actions of my characters, don't kill them without asking, no forcibly shipping with my character without talking to me first, really basic stuff for everyone's comfort, really.
3.) NSFW
I generally don't like NSFW unless we're very close rp partners, and if we do engage in that kind of shipping it will lead directly to fade to black, I don't have a sinblog, and don't have an interest in one, so any smut will have to be implied at best. Otherwise, darker subject matter like gore and other darker themes involving mental health will be explored and tagged appropriately.
4.) Dropping Threads
I'm guilty of dropping threads when I lose my muse for them and get overwhelmed. I'm working on reaching out more and sending memes to my mutuals, but I'm a very shy person. The best way to start things with me is to approach me in DM's or send me a meme.

LOOK FOR THE LIGHT!
Nestled along the rugged coastline of Massachusetts, the quaint town of Pickwick boasts a timeless charm and a rich maritime history. Its winding streets are lined with weathered clapboard houses and storefronts, their paint peeling in hues of faded blue and white. The town square, a central hub of activity, is dominated by a towering white steeple, its bell ringing out across the harbor.Pickwick is a town steeped in tradition, with annual celebrations like the Fourth of July parade and the Lobster Festival drawing crowds from far and wide. The local shops offer a unique blend of handmade crafts, antique treasures, and fresh seafood. The most treasured of all is The Salty Dog, a saltwater taffy shop that also sells kites, t-shirts, and an assortment of other kitschy souvenirs. On Saturday, the main street is filled with tents and stalls for the weekly farmer’s market and craft fair. However, Pickwick's primary draw is the witches. Some tourists come to learn about the town’s sordid history of trials and hunts and visit the museums filled with tall tales of feuds and accusations. Some are drawn to the soap stores, apothecaries, and psychics hoping to buy magical remedies and insights from those entrepreneurs who claim magical inclination. And some come to Pickwick to join a coven. These hopefuls believe themselves capable of harnessing magic and come to the famous city to find others like them. It’s all rumors, of course, but rumors have a power all their own ‒‒ something akin to magic.

Tales from Saturday RP
A bit of a Whodunnit for this week’s scenario, fun, but none of the scenarios have come quite as close as the duelling one from several weeks ago. That being said, having heard how variable this scenario could be based on the tarot reading at the beginning, I’ve got to give the writers some serious credit.
Spoilers ahead for some Arcanis pre-written fun.
Almeric, a war-torn place doesn’t sound like the best holiday destination, good job we’re not there on holiday. We’ve been hired by one of the Princes, who seems to feel his time is limited. Turns out he was right, by the time we arrive he’s dead.
On the way to meet his contact in the town, we get attacked by three spectral females, guarding the crossing into the city. An incredibly tough fight, they’re resistant to physical damage, and explode when destroyed. We win, but not before exhausting spells and losing most of our HP.
Before we learn that the the Price is dead, we eventually meet his contact, a Larissan Val with the power of prophecy. She reads out future using her tarot deck, doesn’t sound too good but when was the life of an adventurer easy.
Anyway, turns out the Prince is dead, and there’s a long list of suspects -mostly family.
Some investigating around, we figure out the old guy has been poisoned, and an obvious - too obvious? - suspect is the Prince’s step-son, who’s already crowing about his coronation.
Heading to the armoury where the Prince’s... valet has locked himself since the Prince died. He’s an ‘albino’ Ss’ressen, unfortunately, as a different egg-clutch than Lash, he triggers Lash’s Rage. Ten minutes of Lash beating futilely at the heavy armoury door, and the Dwarf Gwen clinging to him for dear life, Lash finally calms down.
The 'albino’ turns out to be a Ghost Scale, not Black Talon like Lash. A breed that are known to be peerless assassins and spies. Are suspicions about poison are confirmed by info from ‘Milky’.
A name keeps cropping up, one of the maids who has been absent since we arrived. She’s been in the family for years, she was the tutor of the step-son believing himself about to become a Prince.
Although we have a suspect, we don’t believe she is the mastermind behind the plan, blaming the Prince-to-be’s mother is the actual poisoner, the maid being the delivery system. Poking around the castle, someone spotted her being ‘escorted’ to the roof of the castle. Fearing the worst, we race up to rescue her, for her testimony.
Once we reach the top... dun, dun, duuuhhh... she’s actually the one responsible for the whole thing. Her evil spiel is basically her nephew will advance in the court of a rival Prince if our, now dead, employer is dealt with.
The fight starts, and @usmelinuk‘s Bard casts Shatter on the maid and her entourage, killing several of the nameless guards, and injuring the rest. Celebrating our sudden advantage, it turns out to be a little premature as she Fireballs us all, knocking @thewenglishwarlock‘s Dwarven Cleric out straight away.
Battle carries on, @hollystone‘s Paladin manages to heal Gwen, and we wipe the floor with the remaining guards. The maid shoots off another Fireball, knocking the Bard out and almost killing the rest of us. The Paladin is on point once again, saving the Bard, whilst the rest of us focus on the Maid. Lash - my character - lunges for her, grappling her, attempting to drag her to the battlements to ‘convince’ her to surrender.
Once that happens, the fight is basically over, she’s knocked out, and we drag her down to be arrested. We know have a difficult choice, we can decide who will be the new Prince. No one wants Sir Shitlord, so we look at the other viable candidates - turns out putting your own name forward doesn’t count as ‘viable’.
We finally settle on the former Prince’s eldest step-daughter, along with the Captain of the guard. She’s the only actually nice, and competent person, but as she’s not a val’Tensen - bloodline is important - and the Captain because he’s a val’Tenses, as well as a skilled military leader.
As I said at the start, the plot on this one changes based on the tarot reading near the start. The ‘poisoner’, the location of the final fight, and the reason for the Prince’s death, which makes it an impressive scenario. That final fight was a really close thing, I’m talking down to single digit HP for everyone. Fireball is an insane spell when you’re only 3rd level. Both fights were really tough, I think perhaps the toughest we’ve had so far judging by how much damage we took.
We’re nearing the end of the one-shot style scenarios and getting closer to the mini-campaign that R is going to run. Really looking forward to it, especially as we should be 4th level by then, going for a Ss’ressen only feat to boost my Con and AC.

So. Saturday and Sunday just happened, and there’s a lot to extrapolate from both of those days, but I’m going to focus on Karlnapity because I love them too much. With that being said, here are all the reasons why I still have hope and why I believe that all of this is just step one for them getting back together /srs <3. Also /rp.
First, let me address the negatives here, which, trust me, will be less than the positives. I think the only thing that truly is saddening about c!Karlnapity is the heavy, heavy dramatic irony surrounding them right now. c!Karl has memory problems that c!Sapnap and c!Quackity know nothing about, c!Quackity has been torturing Dream and doing a lot of attempted growth on his own (not to mention the tension between him and Revivebur, which I’m not going to touch on right now), and c!Sapnap has pretty much been silently suffering between it all, trying to help others where he can. The fact that we can see all of this and they can’t, unless they talk, is frustrating, I will admit. It’s all piling up and it’s a lot to address, hence c!Quackity and c!Karl got into that deep misunderstanding in Q’s last lore stream. But again, I think that this all comes down to dramatic irony, and taking a bit of a meta step back from it all, you’ll see three cc’s who are trying to work this out - or at the very least - us trying to work this out and getting overwhelmed with too many what if’s. Let’s keep in mind that nothing has truly happened to c!Karlnapity besides, well, for a while there, nothing. And so the fact that they’re addressing it again? I’m happy. And! I think that this leaves many open doors to their future.
So yes, there are many positive potentials to this relationship!
First, let’s talk c!Karl. c!Karl has written down his signs and symptoms of memory loss before, but never has it been so clearly enacted than it was in Q’s Nov. 27 lore stream. It appears that c!Karl forgot the “history” he and c!Quackity had, and he deemed c!Quackity a murderer and nothing more. Overall thus far, c!Karl’s memory seems to be negatively selective toward c!Quackity, and I can only guess that this is because of their separation. After all, c!Karl trusts c!Sapnap, c!George, and c!Tina since he’s seen them recently and can piece together their history. As distressing as this sounds for c!Karl to be so apprehensive toward c!Quackity, it’s all of the time traveling’s doing, and so unless c!Karl talks about it or The Other Side perhaps heals his memory gaps, or cc!Karl brings it up in the next Tales, etc., things are up in the air. Which means, hey, things can be fixed! He’s just wary of c!Quackity because his memory is not serving him, but it very well could! I think if they spend more time together, his memory can come back to him. Plus, c!Sapnap is an absolute dear, so I have total confidence that he’ll be by c!Karl’s side and help him through the memory loss.
Which, on that note, c!Sapnap. c!Sapnap deserves the world and is a sweetheart, end of story. Even though he can’t exactly see both sides of the story yet, namely not c!Karl’s, he still has so much passion for his loves :(((. Although c!Quackity and c!Karl are frustrated with each other right now, c!Sapnap is the perfect middle man, a voice of reason. He was very respectful during the argument, for one, trying to help c!Karl explain what he was talking about and even backed up and stopped following c!Quackity when the latter wanted space. I have full confidence that c!Sapnap can sort through their argument - both because he’s stubbornly caring and because he loves them. c!Sapnap is also welcomed in both Kinoko Kingdom and Las Nevadas, so even if c!Karl and c!Quackity refuse to talk, c!Sapnap can easily telephone information for them. It’s not an ideal situation, obviously, but I think that c!Sapnap is truly capable of handling it.
And then there’s c!Quackity. The thing about c!Quackity is hypocrisy. He suffers from a very, very large dose of it. He so obviously hides the intense need to love and, even though he advises against it, trust. He says to trust no one, but he trusts. It’s obvious all throughout the lore. He trusted c!Slimecicle, practically swore his life to him. He also trusted c!Sapnap pretty quickly, only refusing a few times before getting convinced to go to Kinoko Kingdom. He clearly still has a lot of love in his heart, it’s just masked by fear of rejection. Seriously, my heart was breaking when the three first met again. I could tell c!Karl’s mind was gone, but c!Quackity has never been more present for something. He wanted to know how c!Sapnap was doing. He wanted to know how c!Karl was doing. He wanted to know them again. He wanted. He trusted. Basically, c!Quackity is a softie underneath all that manipulation, and we saw it here, firsthand. The very reason why the fight began was because he followed c!Karl and c!Sapnap up that ladder; he wanted to be with them, to know them. I believe that that side of him can be unveiled the more he’s with them, painful as it has to start. Again, there is a lot of uncover between the three of them, and so this stream is just the start of it.
Finally, a few more positive observations:
The first meeting was not a total, immediate blowout and they all obviously had great chemistry/camaraderie! Again, c!Sapnap is an absolute dear, he joked so happily with c!Quackity like in that ‘getting a real dragon’ line. I don’t care if their getting along at first only for it to blow up was planned, they are cute together, your honor.
They didn’t kill or even hurt each other (I think no one even dropped a left click/punch?) in the face of high accusations and outbursts :,)
No, I did not forget about c!Dream telling c!Sapnap about c!Quackity torturing him. Yes, this could be a point of strain between c!Sapnap and c!Quackity, but c!Sapnap has shown his distrust in c!Dream and refused to give him back his armor, literally the most valuable things c!Dream owns. Thus, c!Sapnap doesn’t trust c!Dream anymore. I think some explanation is enough for the both of c!Quackity and c!Sapnap to be on similar terms.
Ya’ll are gonna call me crazy but c!Karlnapity did not break up! On all fields technical and literal! Doors are still open, again, namely to c!Sapnap, and they never once stated that they were over explicitly. Yes, c!Quackity said he never wanted to see c!Karl again, but I think he was speaking out of the heat of the moment and was being hyperbolic. There’s love hidden underneath everything, I just know it >:(((

Happy Storyteller Saturday, our beloved Leia! Sorry for the wait, but we were actually getting out the next part of The Rapunzel Witch, and used it for our words for things! Thank you for helping in the next part! c:
But onto the question!
We actually do have characters who are easier to see in small moments and little snippets! A lot of the time, it can happen with both characters from stories and characters who just pop up without a tale to weave of their own, but we do have a few who have been hanging around a lot recently!
We have our beloved Immortal King, Neal Anderson, who is always popping up and around and in small scenes and stories! He definitely prefers to just be out in small scenes than sit down and actually participate in any sort of solid story or narrative.
Also, we have known Grayland to be one to enjoy smaller scenes. Mostly bc his narrative does not allow for him to hold a lot of uh, social events that include broken bones and bloody bodies, but it still counts, we think. (≧∇≦*)
More characters who tend to be out and about in more snippet style writings are those who are connected to the words of our person! They like to be a part of more collaborative works or RPs with our person, instead of actually doing anything productive with their stories. o(* ̄▽ ̄*)ブ

NightRaid is bringing back the haven meant for hunters and folks of various professions to enjoy an eventful evening with plenty of free food to feast from! Our chefs and attendants will be hard at work producing buffet-style far eastern foods whilst our stage reminds open for storytellers throughout the night.

The bell on the shop’s door chimed merrily, bouncing on its coiled band of metal to announce Smith’s entry. The worn wooden floorboards squeaked as he stepped out of the clear blustery afternoon and into the warm and subdued glow of the shop.
“Afternoon,” called the shopkeeper. He was hidden behind the narrow rows of drawers and display cases that reached almost to the ceiling, high above Smith’s head. From somewhere in the back of the shop came the sound of wood creaking, and metal wheels rolling on one of the ladder tracks that allowed for access to the highest drawers. Smith twisted the top of the cloth satchel in his hand, the crystals inside clinking together.
“Afternoon,” he replied back. Bracing himself, he approached the counter with the till.
“Can I help you find-” the shopkeeper rounded a corner and caught sight of him, stopping in the middle of his sentence. “Oh. You again.”
“Me again,” Smith said, voice strained with false good humor.
“Let me guess. These ones broke too?” The shop keeper lifted the section of counter that allowed him access to the till. He leaned his elbows on the glass of the display case, looking at Smith with an aggrieved expression.
“Uhm,” Smith said. He slowly placed the cloth satchel on the counter, bits of rock inside making their tell-tale rattle.
The shopkeeper rolled his eyes, picked up one of the little baskets meant for browsing customers, and turned away from Smith.
“You’re seriously making me re-consider that warranty policy. You’ve single-handedly broken more crystals than all my other customers combined, since we started business.”
As he spoke, he rummaged through the drawers behind the counter, opening them one by one and pulling out replacements for the crystals that Smith had broken, yet again.
“Look, I’m sorry to be such a bother, I really don’t mind paying for the replacements.”
“And let word get out that Hornby’s Unconditional Lifetime Guarantee does in fact have conditions? Absolutely not.” He dropped the basket full of crystals onto the countertop, plucking the satchel from Smith’s fingers. The shopkeeper dumped out the broken crystals, sorting them into piles as he scowled at them. He started punching buttons on the till, its little chimes dinging as cheerfully as the door.
Smith fidgeted, straightening the little cards where they sat in their carved soapstone holder by the register. Printed on the cards in neat text were the words:

“I’m honestly impressed you manage to break these.” The shopkeeper commented. He pressed a button on the till and the drawer slid out with one final chorus of bells. He slid it closed, and scooped all the broken crystal bits into a box on the floor full of a rainbow of jagged pieces of rock. He dusted off his hands on the quilted vest he wore. A deep red one today, with embroidered leaves on the hem and shoulders, worked in thread just a shade darker than the fabric. “There have to be easier ways to flirt with someone.”
“Beg pardon?” Smith felt his face get hot.
“There’s no need to keep going to such crazy lengths to get my attention. I’m pretty sure you had it after the fifth time you came in here.”
“I’m not breaking them on purpose!”
“Right. You just happen to break the same crystals – the finest in town I might add – again and again.”
The shopkeeper began to wrap the new crystals in paper, lining up the little bundles neatly on the counter as he rolled and folded with deft fingers.
“I swear! Well, I am deliberately stressing them, but my intent isn’t to break the crystals. Far from it! I’m conducting some very experimental...experiments. Magicks. Your crystals are the only ones that come close to holding up to the task.”
The shopkeeper finished packing the wrapped crystals into the small bag Smith had come in with, and crossed his arms over his chest. A small smile broke through the annoyance as he looked Smith up and down.
“So you’re not flirting then.”
“No! I mean, not by breaking the crystals. Not if you’re not interested.”
“But you are flirting if I am interested, is that right?”
“I can just take these, and go. I really don’t mean to keep troubling you, Mister...” He reached for the bag, but the shopkeeper caught his hand before he could grab it and bolt.
“It's Ross.” He gave Smith’s hand a squeeze, and Smith felt himself blushing all over again. “Are you busy tomorrow evening?”
“N-no?” Smith was paralyzed, caught in place by Ross’s hand on his own.
“I’ll meet you down by the wharf then, an hour before sundown. I know a vendor who makes excellent sausage. My treat.”
Smith nodded, and Ross grinned at him.
“I’ll see you then...” He paused, looking at Smith pointedly.
“Smith. Alex Smith.”
He pressed the cloth satchel into Smith’s hand, wrapping Smith’s fingers around it with a gentle squeeze.
“It's a date, Smith.”

The (momentarily) supernatural town of Vesta, MI Halloween is a week long celebration. The supernatural beings of Vesta each put on their own Halloween party, each one trying to one up the other, and invite the mortals to enjoy the party. In a world of the magic and mystic though, not everything is as it seems.
Party #1 - The Fairies Wednesday Night Hosted by: @jooniesong Magical Element: You might want to stay away from the punch at this party, unless you don’t mind being candid the rest of the night. Just like fairies can’t lie, this punch makes the drinker truthful, and only truthful, the rest of the evening. Other party events/location: Its going to be at one of the parks. Midsummer Nights Dream-esque. Lots of pretty flowers and twinkly lights and homemade food.
Party #2 - The Vampires Thursday Night Hosted by: @lysataylor Magical Element: Most Vesta Vampires have learned to survive without drinking human blood, so mortals are safe! However, we suggest you stay away from the impressive portrait of Dracula. If you look into his eyes for even a split second, you fall under a vampiric hypnotism and will be controlled by the next person you speak to. Other party events/location: Royal Museum of Art. Decadent black tie charity event with a small band and cocktails.
Party #3- The Witches Friday Night Hosted by: @autumnhornburg Magical Element: The Witches are known for some of the best brews in Vesta. At this party, they’re letting everyone sample their newest drinks, and they just might have some influence on your mood. The drink in the yellow bottle makes you cheery. The drink in the green bottle makes you jealous. Pink makes you flirty. Blue makes you sad. Purple makes you sleepy. And orange makes you scared. Other party events/location: Warehouse in the Industrial Park that has been done up for the night.
Party #4 - The Werewolves Saturday Night (Full Moon) Hosted by: @carter-penn Magical Element: The werewolves have set up a huge corn maze, but you don’t want to get lost in the maze after the full moon rises. At that point it turns into a haunted corn maze, run by the werewolves in their wolf form - unable to change back to their human form. (Don’t worry mortals, they have much more control in their wolf forms now than they do in all the old tales.) Other party events/location: Party to be held in Sweetville Park in Quincy Borough as some of the most sinister, immoral, wicked folks hide behind the white picket fences of the suburbs. Themed drinks from local bartenders like the Wolf’s Blood (Whiskey, Vermouth, Blood Orange Liqueur, Bitters, Orange Bitters), the Silver Bullet (Vodka, Lemon juice, Gin), and the Full Moon Cocktail (Black Forest red wine, bourbon, simple syrup, and a large round ice ball). Wandering throughout the party are local magicians practicing slight of hand and transformation of objects.
*NOTE_
In true supernatural fashion, time is a little wonky. The parties are simply backdrops for threads and you can play as if you’re at any party throughout the week of event (they don’t have to be in chronological order).
General lore for each species can be applied to your characters. If you have any questions about what is or isn’t allowed, just ask! Also, always check with your RP partner to make sure they’re okay with whatever supernatural elements you’re applying to your threads.
The magical elements of the parties are completely optional! They are there to inspire and encourage different, fun threads.
This is an AU event, so the things that happen during this week will not bleed into your normal character development, etc.
For those who want nothing to do with a supernatural element, you’re welcome to play mortals at a normal Halloween party since all magical elements at the parties are optional. We encourage Halloween costumes and other normal Halloween traditions!
Unless your character is picked to host one of the parties, you’re welcome to change the supernatural species of your character prior to the start of the event from what you had originally put on the survey.

LOOK FOR THE LIGHT!
Nestled along the rugged coastline of Massachusetts, the quaint town of Pickwick boasts a timeless charm and a rich maritime history. Its winding streets are lined with weathered clapboard houses and storefronts, their paint peeling in hues of faded blue and white. The town square, a central hub of activity, is dominated by a towering white steeple, its bell ringing out across the harbor.Pickwick is a town steeped in tradition, with annual celebrations like the Fourth of July parade and the Lobster Festival drawing crowds from far and wide. The local shops offer a unique blend of handmade crafts, antique treasures, and fresh seafood. The most treasured of all is The Salty Dog, a saltwater taffy shop that also sells kites, t-shirts, and an assortment of other kitschy souvenirs. On Saturday, the main street is filled with tents and stalls for the weekly farmer’s market and craft fair. However, Pickwick's primary draw is the witches. Some tourists come to learn about the town’s sordid history of trials and hunts and visit the museums filled with tall tales of feuds and accusations. Some are drawn to the soap stores, apothecaries, and psychics hoping to buy magical remedies and insights from those entrepreneurs who claim magical inclination. And some come to Pickwick to join a coven. These hopefuls believe themselves capable of harnessing magic and come to the famous city to find others like them. It’s all rumors, of course, but rumors have a power all their own ‒‒ something akin to magic.

Tales from Saturday RP
An... interesting session this week for our Arcanis game.
The group has headed to the Altherian Republic having picked up some oddjobs along the way. After some introductions to the city, we’re hired by the world renown ‘Shining Patrol’ to rescue one of their scouts captured by elements of the Ssethregore hidden deep in the jungle.
Spoilers ahead for some Arcanis pre-written fun.
Tromping through the jungle, instead of taking the more scenic boat ride, we spot a raging inferno off in the distance, investigating we see several giant Ssethregoric Ss’ressen and their troglodyte minions butchering an unaligned Ss’ressen vilage. I - as ‘Lash’ - decide to intervene.
It’s a tough fight, the Swashbuckler Khangir is taken to half HP in a single blow, but eventually we prevail, learning a few more details about the Ss’ressen deeper into the jungle, as its too late for anyone without Darkvision to continue on, we camp for the night getting HP and spells back.
The following day, we head deeper into the jungle, following the maps and information given to us. We’re almost caught in a series of traps, but thanks to Lash’s skills as a scout we’re ok. We do meet a weird, frog-like creature who guides us the rest of the way - helping us to avoid all the ‘specimen’ traps set up by one of the psionic naga who rule the Ssethregore empire.
Their camp is in a ruined temple, one they’re trying to repair. In the centre, an altar on which the missing scout is strapped down. Nearby, several Troglodyte drummers are creating a pounding, dizzying rhythm that seems to drive the other Ssethregorian ever onward. The middle of the camp is taken up by a giant, six-legged creature, chained to a stake, and barely stopped from eating any hapless troglodyte to walk past by a tall Ss’ressen.
At the far end, the construction of the temple is being undertaken by a score of troglodytes, all watched and ordered around by another tall Ss’ressen.
To make matters worse, several mounted patrols stop off at the camp at hour intervals potentially making escape extremely hazardous.
A quick plan is devised. Khangir and Lash will charge at the Ss’ressen beast-tamer, preventing it from freeing the six-legged creature, whilst Sabine, Elad, and Gwen will attack the drummers in an attempt to weaken the Ssethregorian resolve. We time things so that the most recent patrol is too far away to hear the sounds of battle, and too far to respond should they some how be alerted.
We charge, Khangir and Lash racing straight towards the hulking Ss’ressen, the others going towards the troglodyte drummers. And that was the last part of the plan that worked. The chained beast immediately freed itself, racing towards the Elad, Gwen and Sabine whilst the troglodyte workers mixed between Khangir, Lash, and the others.
A tense fight, Lash is battered, even with his Barbarian resistance, he gets knocked out of the fight. But thanks to Sabine’s newly trained abilities, and some extra healing, he’s right back into the fray.
Almost as soon as the beastmaster Ss’ressen is dealt with, one of the mounted patrols returns and things go from bad to worse - although the biggest damage dealer has been killed, the numbers are heavily against us.
After much struggle - and some serious whiff from Elad /@hollystone - we eventually manage to kill or disperse the remaining Ssethregorian’s and rescue the scout. Returning back to the Shining Patrol headquarters, we’re given a respectable reward, and sent on our merry way.
I enjoyed the adventure plot, but I admit, I felt annoyed during the last fight. From the description of how the beast was chained, I had figured we were going to get at least a couple of Rounds before it managed to pull itself free, if not the whole fight, having successfully ambushed the beastmaster. Instead, Round 1, its Turn, it’s right in the mix.
Secondly, we timed the assault to avoid the patrols, but because the scenario dictated that they arrive after ‘x’, they arrived after ‘x’ occurred. That lead to a sense of GM Fiat - at least for me - with some of his attack rolls, as we were now up against a clock.
On the plus side, this was our first session since hitting 3rd level, we had a new bag of tricks each to bring to the fight. Lash can now summon ‘Ancestral Guardians’ to distract someone he attacks, which helps out anyone else in melee - I think we’re all using Unearthed Arcana for our stuff here, mostly because the actual Arcanis playtest rules hadn’t been released when we started this. Sabine can now give people a bunch of temporary HP, and allow them to ‘retreat’ towards her without risking Opportunity Attacks. I cannot for the life of me remember what other people got for their 3rd level stuff, but I’m sure they were amazing.
A bit of a mixed bag this session, fun scenario and new abilities vs. irritating fight.

An extravagant flyer would be posted on the walls around the city states, bards spinning tales of a new tournament that was happening within the heart of dravania! In an old abandoned arena that was being raised from the test of time to serve as the heart of the realms newest spectacle:

A fighting spectacle that does not restrict your means to fight or fling dangerous magics, put your strengths forward to fight against unwilling odds and earn title and treasures aplenty!
Want to smash your axe against a devious meteor flinging thaumaturge? DO IT!
Want to have your carbuncle Floor-tank an enemy dragoon with adorableness? DO IT
Want to hit a fish-spitting blue mage with a frying pan? DO IT!!!
As long as you leave your opponent in one piece and not on a one-way trip to the realm of the departed, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! Come on down to the Iron Feast in Dravania each SATURDAY from the 18th of this month at the 8th bell of the day to participate in the weekly dose of the ultimate trial of combat!
And that's not all, At the end of each month we shall have themed nights ranging from DUO BATTLES, TEAM BATTLES, FREE FOR ALLS and MORE with increased prizes and glory to behold!
The poster would have details linking to the organisers below, as well as information about a lift being constructed to assist those who do not have means to climb or fly up to the venue.

King of the ring is an upcoming EU based roleplaying tournament on Balmung (Anyone is encouraged to participate however) that will involve grindstone roles and no limits as far as to what skills your characters can use within the battle as long as you make no attempts to take a characters life or dismember them. If such a thing happens you will be disqualified and your character will take full IC consequences for the action made whether permitted by the opponent or not.
This event will BE HELD AT 8PM GMT EACH SATURDAY, STARTING ON THE 18TH JANUARY
The tournament itself will take place in the Iron feast in dravania, this will require a flying mount to access HOWEVER Someone will be on site to provide a taxi service for those without flying mounts by the waterfall listed in the second screenshot to provide a lift up to the venue.

Once you arrive at the venue, participants may gather around the sides or the upper layers of the ruins, with the participants lining up in front of the main stairs where the announcers will be stood. Watch out for the announcements and get your emote ready! You will have to call out your name and weapon/magic as one of the referees goes down the line, once they are behind you it is your turn to yell! We will then assign you into brackets and you will fight in your corner of the arena. (If a small number is present the fights will be individual and not simultaneous.)
Themed evenings will have rules slightly different, and will be posted before the event starts so participants are properly able to familiarise themselves with the rolls before the event.

As he passed, Lucis Crysanthos revealed many things, including the coordinates of an underwater facility in the Lochs where a powerful tool may lay to help them defeat the remaining Terastios. The final push is coming, but STELLA wants to arrive at the party prepared. Imperial Shadows have been assigned the task of investigating this facility and the ‘tool’ inside. Are you staying home from work/school?
Nope. I still have to work. But social distancing measures have been introduced so now I’m working less, but still getting paid the same at least.
If staying home who is there with you?
N/A, I guess? But I do have time off coming up, and I planned to stay in anyway... just this time, boyfriend will be home as well as the dog.
Are you a homebody?
Oh yeah, absolutely. I joke that this virus has changed nothing for me except for my work schedule, lol. Before the pandemic, I rarely went out and did anything, just hanging out at friends’ houses or visiting family occasionally, but I hardly ever had social plans.
What movies have you watched recently?
I watched a couple shitty horror movies on Amazon Prime a week or so ago. The Corrupted, and Occupant. Don’t watch Occupant if you like animals. The cat dies horribly. The Corrupted was just shitty acting but otherwise not that bad.
An event you were looking for that got canceled?
I’d been planning a night out for my birthday last Saturday. I just really wanted to go out and let my hair down, have a few drinks with friends but I cancelled that once things started getting more serious. I had also planned to have some family over next Saturday when my copy off FF7 Remake arrived, but then the lockdown happened. I had also planned a week off in which to play the game, but then it shipped early to account for any delays caused by Covic-19 and I got it last Friday so I’ve already started playing it.
What music are you listening to?
I’ve got an 80s playlist I put together for a Tales From the Loop RP my friends and I are starting tomorrow night, and I’ve also been listening to some Third Realm and Omnimar.
What are you reading?
Some fanfic, some other stuff. I’ve been reading The Magicians by Lev Grossman, Rotherweird and The Lair of the White Worm in hard copy, as well as some ebooks, but I go through those so much faster I tend to forget the names. One was a really good modern gay retelling of The Little Mermaid though.
What are you doing for self care?
Walking the dog. This also counts as care for my boyfriend as well, because if I don’t get a break from him on the days I’m off work, I’ll likely kill him. He is not someone who should get bored, and he is so. very. bored.
I’m also taking time to just chill and relax. Like, I have more time off work and there’s this feeling that I need to be doing something with this time, but honestly, I work so damn hard at work and I’ve clocked up something like 50-60 hours of overtime from January through March, and I start work half an hour earlier than most others on this new schedule, that I need to be able to just do nothing.

D&D Session 5 Player Summary
When last we left our heroes... The party had split into two groups to tackle the issue of defending the farming town of Ravenhome from the Warbreed soldiers pressuring it for tribute; Cerna @pantographicclone, Jawbones @darkseldarine and Naoise @bluethegirl made their way to Octin and Belfort for arms and support, whilst Ellenwae @xynnos, Rowan @krunk-mcdunk and Shura (ya boi) stayed in town to train the peasants to fight. The team in Octin managed to recruit our musketeer buddies and the apprentice to Local Wizard Spindore, and the team in Ravenhome have a militia of 20 people. Our DM @zarozinia herds the cats and starts the session. Before chronological events, the session started with a cutscene; our Bard Naoise in a flashback, re-reading an old letter before answering a noble’s summons. Implications were implied. Events begin with the party from Octin showing back up in town on Saturday evening. The party meets up again, and head to Whitby’s Radish for a meal and to catch each other up on the goings on of the other half of the party. Now, Whitby’s Radish isn’t a very lively place, what with the whole Militia Training and Soldiers Raiding Supplies business going on, but when we enter we see two new figures. There’s a woman on a makeshift stage, singing songs to the patrons who immediately starts singing of the tale of Belruel and Arizoth (patron saint of Ya Boi and the woman who saved her soul), and there is a cloaked figure caked in mud sitting alone at a table. This is D&D, and the bar is the current base of operations, so the party immediately sit down with the cloaked figure and pull back the hood. Shock! Horror! It’s a bald half-orc! What the fuck is he doing here? He introduces himself as 3296, and is visibly shaking. He tells us he feels wrong, that he feels like he’s doing something bad by fighting with the other soldiers. He mentions that a masked Wizard by the name of Ketracel has arrived in camp, presumably their leader. There’s no way he’s developed emotions or grown a soul in a couple days, right? He also mentions that he hasn’t taken his mandatory Big Boy Juice (Military-Grade Steroids) in a couple days. Ah. Maybe that’ll do it. The party name him Eoin, tell him to chill out in the bar, and that he’s pretty safe. So the singer heads over to the party’s table and starts coming on to Naoise quite clearly. Now, Naoise is a mess and also a D&D Bard; the presence of strong women is enough to make her pass her braincell to another party member. So this back and forth goes on for a while and then Naoise and the singer head to a back room. Oh no! Why is there Russian hardbass playing? Who could have guessed it’s Ivan, the revenant who Naoise killed a few days ago! Naoise’s stunned, but manages to get out a scream before Rowan breaks down the door and the entire Goon Squad dogpiles him again. Ellenwae’s holy magic is enough to take him down before he can even get a swing; it’s pretty pathetic. With the revenant no longer possessing the body, Shura takes the body outside for a proper burial and the party take the vaguely magical jewelry off the corpse; a necklace that casts Gentle Repose, and a ring that keeps a body at its normal, living temperature. Gross! Naoise takes the necklace and Ellenwae takes the ring to stay chill in the sun. The party goes to sleep. Morning comes and the party meet over breakfast to discuss what the fuck we are doing today. We have some new information, and we’re all back together, so what’s the plan now? Well, firstly, now that Naoise is back in town, they start the day off with a speech given by Naoise and Rowan to get the other 20 odd potential combatants to join training, and it works! The party now has 40 peasants and 20 musketeers; the odds aren’t looking quite so bad! What else are they going to do? Fuck knows. What comes next is the culmination of our week long idea spitballing; we have a dozen ideas for how we are going to fight this battle, but we don’t have a concrete plan. Fighting in the forest sounds like a good idea, pit traps sound like a good idea, flanking sounds like a good idea, lighting the Warbreed up with spells sounds like a good idea...but where? Eventually after much discussion we realise that potentially the best place for a fight might be just outside of town; the river flows between a hill and a forest; if we break the normal bridge and somehow bait them to this section, the musketeers can light them up from the hilltop, and the militia can charge the flank. Even better, we can dig pit traps on the hillside of the river, and make fording even harder. Even better, we can cut trees and roll logs from the top of the hill should they manage to advance on the gunners! Perfect! Naoise, a former soldier, spends the day training the new militiamen whilst Rowan and Shura spend the day logging with a few other villagers. All of Sunday is spent just working, and then the party return to the inn as the sun sets, and the other part of the plan begins. See, Jawbones and Rowan are very stealthy. Supernaturally so. Jawbones becomes almost invisible at night, and Rowan’s slowly been discovering she can bend light and other such insane stealthy things, and Rowan has a magical cloak to boot! The party now knows this potion makes the Warbreed tougher, so why not try and get rid of it? Why not try and find some plans of theirs for what they might do if they attacked the town? In fact, why not sabotage as much as the duo can in their camp without being butchered? The party wishes these valiant souls the best of luck, and they disappear into the night. An hour later they arrive at the campsite; it’s fortified and broken up into four main sections with a command building in the centre. Both succeed in silently making their way around the perimeter and into the camp, first finding the food storage. No potions here, but why not poison their water with some rotten meat, or at least try to. No one detects this, and the duo are out into the black once more. The pair spot another summoning circle, like the one Jawbones saw the first time, but this time a Hellhound is brought forth. They head outside the wall once more to enter through another gate closer to where the potions are supposedly being stored, and as they avoid detection again, Rowan’s cloak shifts; it grows darker and Rowan’s attunement to the item informs her that the cloak now functions as a portable hole (the party has magical items that will level up alongside them, and the portable hole cloak was one of two possibilities here off a coinflip). Needless to say everyone was hyped as fuck out of character. The pair show up in the storage room undetected, and dump the vials into the portable hole; the plan was to smash them under the cover of a Silence spell but there’s no reason to do that if they can just take them away! But there should be more. Where else could they be stored aside from the command room? The wizard’s in there, and so are any potential plans, so why not go all in? The pair sneak in to the command room and check around for anything; the wizard is sleeping on his bed whilst they turn his room, finding communications, documents, a journal... and with Jawbones’ keen eye, a chest under the bed. Rowan casts Silence to drag the chest out, and they find the other potions... but something occurs to the dynamic duo; this Wizard is sleeping, Silence is preventing him from casting spells or calling for help, and the likelihood of a wizard like this to be an expert brawler is slim; so they decide to take him out. Rowan takes her staff, and crits his skull as he sleeps, with enough damage to instantly kill the Wizard. Out of character celebration is through the roof. Rowan takes the mask he sleeps in and the cloak off his back, stuffing them in the new portable hole, followed by every potion, all the notes, and a bag. Now, I almost died in real life here, because I was CERTAIN this bag was a Bag of Holding, but it wasn’t, so it’s fine. Rowan then dumps the Wizard’s body in the hole, Jawbones forges a note saying “My work here is done,” and the two vanish into the night and show back up at the inn with the Wizard’s corpse dumped on the floor. After the session, a very drunk Shura and Naoise try the steroid potion. Shura goes into a rage, but it has no other major effect. Naoise, however, loses all senses but smell, and manages to control herself just enough to not start attacking a very disappointed Ellenwae, and Shura. To conclude, the session was good fun. I don’t think it was as great as the last one but that may be simply because it felt like we had less to do. That’s not to say it was boring by any stretch; the planning was great when we actually figured out what we were doing, there were a handful of RP moments that were top notch, and a third of the session’s runtime was dedicated to the most tense stealth mission conceivable. It felt like a Rowan and Jawbones spotlight episode and it was wonderful to watch; the other players and I were DMing each other with a thousand ways this could go wrong and a dozen suggestions of what to do and the pair managed to reach the same conclusions in their own way. Rowan’s cloak becoming a Portable Hole was awesome, and killing the Wizard was one of the most satisfying moments to happen so far. The fight is swung immeasurably in our favour by the success of that stealth mission, and I’m looking forward to next session. It was great to have everyone at a session for once! Also, magic items gaining random properties off a roll has to be my favourite way to see items level.
