This is true all throughout the year, but I want to highlight these affirmations this Hanukkah. The phrases on these sets are based on a set by @genderqueerpositivity about trans lesbian women. I have a different identity set for each night of Hanukkah, so if you don’t see your identity here, please be patient. =D
And because I’m not Jewish and I want to center Jewish voices, I’ll be featuring a link to a different @shiraglassman story each night.

Today is Dragon Appreciation Day!
But Socchan, you say, there are so many cool dragons out there, how do I pick one to start with?
Allow me to recommend Isaac from @shiraglassman‘s Mangoverse series!
Isaac is a wizard with the power (among others) to transform into a dragon and other reptiles. He looks like he’d be sneaky, and he is, but he’s also super big-hearted and very protective of his loved ones, especially including a whole bunch of awesome MOGAI characters.
You can find out more about Isaac and the people he loves and protects in the latest book in the Mangoverse, The Olive Conspiracy [ Amazon | PDF ], or in the short story collection, Tales From Perach [ Amazon | PDF ]. All the stories are super cute and fluffy, and none of the queer characters die. The entire series can be read in any order.

I'm reading all of the Mangoverse books and this exchange has made me possibly the happiest any piece of fiction has ever made me. I am crying tears of joy and pain and I am unable to describe how freeing it is to read this. This is in Shira Glassman's Tales from Perach short story collection. I could go on and on and I might at a later point but for right now I am going to bask in this feeling and let it be my self care.

Review & Recommendation: Tales from Perach (Mangoverse book 5), Shira Glassman
If you’ve been wondering where to dip your toes into the Mangoverse — Shira Glassman’s wonderful queer-friendly universe full of magic, Jewish lore, and happy endings — Tales from Perach, the fifth Mangoverse book, is a delightful place to start. A collection of bite-sized bits of Mango, tasty and light, this unapologetically fluffy collection is…

Do you know "All Out: The No-Longer-Secret Stories of Queer Teens throughout the Ages" it like a bunch of queer fiction short stories in a book, do you know any other books like this?
For some reason, the Q isn't showing up, so I'm gonna re-paste it here:
Do you know "All Out: The No-Longer-Secret Stories of Queer Teens throughout the Ages" it like a bunch of queer fiction short stories in a book, do you know any other books like this?
Then I'm gonna take a second to laugh (appreciatively!) because yes of course I know it - I'm one of the contributors.
THEN I'm going to say yes, I do!
The best news is that there's a follow-up called Out Now, which is all contemporary stories by great authors like Cam Montgomery, CB Lee, and Mark Oshiro. (And there'll be a third coming, called Out There, which also has an amazing lineup.) But also, all of these are all-queer anthologies or short-story collections:
Homesick by Nino Cipri
Short Stuff ed. by Alysia Constantine (YA)
Proud ed. by Juno Dawson (YA)
Summer Love ed. by Duet Books (YA)
The Voyages of Cinrak the Dapper by A.J. Fitzwater
Absolute Power: Tales of Queer Villainy, ed. by Erica Friedman
Tales From Perach by Shira Glassman
Meet Me in the Future by Kameron Hurley
No Man of Woman Born by Ana Mardoll
Beyond: The Queer Sci-Fi & Fantasy Comic Anthology, ed. by Sfe R. Monster
Love Beyond Body, Space, and Time, ed. by Hope Nicholson
Transcendent 2: The Year’s Best Transgender Speculative Fiction 2016, ed. by Bogi Takács
Transcendent 3: The Year’s Best Transgender Speculative Fiction 2017, ed. by Bogi Takács
The Kissing Booth Girl and Other Stories by A.C. Wise
(if you see "ed. by," that means they're edited collections. No "ed." means they're single-author story collections.)
And finally, if you just want to know which YA anthologies have a lot of queer content, scroll to the bottom here: https://lgbtqreads.com/young-adult/
Enjoy!

I’m looking for any SF or Fantasy novels with trans or ace/aro characters. (While I cry over Cemetery Boys being delayed)
Awww CEMETERY BOYS is definitely worth the wait, at least! But OK!
Devin Harnois’s RAINBOW ISLANDS is trans adventure, and April Daniels’ DREADNOUGHT is a trans lesbian superhero novel (with at least one sequel - can’t remember if a third book happened).
CB Lee’s Sidekick Squad (beginning with NOT YOUR SIDEKICK) has both trans and ace/aro-questioning characters in the main cast who each get their own book - NOT YOUR VILLAIN and NOT YOUR BACKUP, respectively.
Alex London’s Skybound series (beginning with BLACK WINGS BEATING) is a great YA fantasy helmed by two siblings who switch POVs, and the sister is aroace. (She and her aroace-ness are much more prominent in RED SKIES FALLING, just FYI).
THE MERMAID, THE WITCH, AND THE SEA by Maggie Tokuda-Hall is a new YA fantasy out with a genderfluid lead.
HULLMETAL GIRLS by Emily Skrutskie and TARNISHED ARE THE STARS by Rosiee Thor are both YA sci-fis with aroace POVs.
Not sure if you need the characters to be both aro and ace, but if not, BELLE REVOLTE by Linsey Miller and BEYOND THE BLACK DOOR by A.M. Strickland both have biromantic asexual lead, and THE LAST 8 by Laura Pohl has an aromantic bisexual lead.
Books where both trans and aro/ace characters more in the cast than in the leads but are definitely prominent and in some cases have small POVs: THE LOST COAST by Amy Rose Capetta, ONCE & FUTURE by Amy Rose Capetta and Cori McCarthy, and THE AFTERWARD by EK Johnston.
Older than YA but YA-reader friendly, check out Claudie Arseneault’s City of Spires series, RoAnna Sylver’s CHAMELEON MOON, THE SEEP by Chana Porter, and TALES FROM PERACH by Shira Glassman and NO MAN OF WOMAN BORN by Ana Mardoll for short stories.
That should work until September 1, I hope! (And you can find links to these here: https://lgbtqreads.com/sff/)

[Image: Cover of Tales From Perach, featuring Hadar and Halleli, two Jewish lesbians with medium-brown skin, holding hands. Hadar is standing, while Halleli is sitting, and they are looking lovingly into each others’ eyes.]
Yay, glad they work! I was at work myself when I got the notification, and didn’t really have an opportunity to check things, so I’m really glad it worked out!
As of last month, I’ve republished these 7 bonus standalone short stories set in my Jewish fantasy world, for only $1.99! Please help me spread the word.
Tales from Perach features characters from the novels having independent adventures. Most the stories are extremely fluffy and queer; the exception is “Rivka in Port Saltspray”, which has some violence because it’s about a warrior woman, but still ends happily.
“Your Name is Love”, cis lesbian f/f: An energetic royal guard takes her artist wife on a scavenger hunt around the city so she can stop having artist’s block about the lesbian graphic novel she’s supposed to make for the queen. (That’s them in the cover art, by Caroline C.)
“No Whining”, slice of life w/background bi, trans f/cis m: A chef dithers over whether to switch wine sellers when hers is incompetent but the delivery girl is a trusted ally.
“Every Us”, cis bi m/gay m: A prince with anxiety is comforted in the arms of his partner when he wakes up from a nightmare. (Remember Kaveh and Farzin?)
“Take Time to Stop and Eat the Roses”, trans m/cis f: A teenager and his girlfriend go on a midnight quest for flowers for her sister’s wedding. (Remember Micah?)
“The Generous Princess”, cis bi f/lesbian f & cis bi m/gay m in family setting: A royal family with two moms and two dads puts their own special twist on celebrating Purim.
“Rivka in Port Saltspray”, demisexual MC, aro ace rep as well. Trapped in a seedy port town because an innkeeper is holding her shapeshifting dragon-horse hostage until she can pay all the charges he invented, nomadic warrior Rivka finally has a chance at some decent money when a wealthy but weak man hires her to rescue his fiancée. But she has to think on her feet when she learns there may be more at stake.
“Aviva and the Aliens”, cis bi f/lesbian f. On the night before the royal Passover seder, Aviva has to outsmart the aliens who abducted her to cook for them because they had grown sick of their spaceship’s food replicators. Will she get home before Queen Shulamit wakes up and panics from her absence?
Tales from Perach is available both in eBook and paperback; if you buy A Harvest of Ripe Figs and The Olive Conspiracy in paperback all these stories are included anyway.
