Since there's no Halloween episode this season, I thought I'd close this gaping wound by drawing what the Belcher kids could wear for this year's Halloween festivities. Louise is dressed as the Monokupoly Man (combination of Monokuma from the Danganronpa series and The Monopoly Man). I tried making Louise's face monochromatic from side to side, but it made her face look too busy. Tina is dressed as The Trapperkeeper (The Cryptkeeper combined with a trapper keeper). I gave Tina the hair of the live action Cryptkeeper but added in the yellow eyes and greenish-blue skin of Cryptkeeper from the animated series spin-off. Gene is dressed as Garfielder (Garfield if he was on a baseball team). I wanted to give Gene's face more Garfield features, but nothing really looked right in the early draft. Happy Halloween, Belchies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you have talked about headcannons for the Crypt Keeper, do you have any on Vault Keeper and the Old Witch?

Do you know how long I've been waiting for someone to ask me this?

The Old Witch

Her real name is Fran. This actually isn't a headcanon, that really is her name. It's short for Francis.

Because her mother is canonically a dead vampire and her father is a dead werewolf, she has a semi-secret werewolf form. Said form is about nine feet tall and obscenely hot.

She's even more powerful than she lets on.

The oldest of the GhouLunatics.

Also has the happiest, richest family life of all of them, and the least personal demons. She's a very contented person.

Has a considerable network of lovers.

Very well respected in the undead community, and one of the first handful of people you're likely to meet if you die without actually dying.

Enjoys heckling CK and VK about their relationship, but makes it extremely apparent she's down for a threesome and of all the things that are never happening that's never happening the most.

The Vault Keeper

His real name is Victor.

He died electrocuting himself trying to invent a pre-Tesla electrical coil, and is haunted by the knowledge of how close he came.

In his 60s. Crypt Keeper, for the record, is somewhere in his 30s.

Came from a well-to-do family that didn't hug him enough. Has quite a few siblings.

Enjoys tea.

His hair, back when it had color, was black.

Inventor of a chemical concoction that staves off decay. He offers it free of charge to everyone who's freshly undead, but CK declined.

Gayer than he lets on or even acknowledges himself. His pursuit of Drusilla is less about attraction than wanting her on his arm and the fact that he feels he deserves to have her.

Has a tendency to try too hard, and would probably be a lot happier if he'd stop focusing on what he's not.

Never saw the old TV show, however I do remember them turning it into a Saturday morning cartoon. Yes really. Had the same voice actor playing the Crypt Keeper. Everything was toned down from the original comics for obvious reasons, but it was still good fun!

EC Comics was responsible for Tales From The Crypt, The Haunt Of Fear and The Vault Of Horror. There were probably others, but they were the big three titles.

That's an impressive comic! Wrightson was clearly building up to his grand take on Frankenstein with these earlier explorations of existential nightmares. It looks amazing and the story's nice and somber.

A neat low-budget monster movie, and impressive given it's the director's first work. But I also can't says you gotta see it. If you watch it for anything, watch it for the monster effects.

Tales from the Cryptkeeper - Seasons 2 & 3 (1994 & 1999)

You know, this show is most definitely for KILL-dren, but I still really enjoyed more dead-PUN humor from the Cryptkeeper and the occasional spooky GORY that punched way above its Saturday MOURNING weight class.
