I had an idea what gripped me so violently that i had to make it real

TWS gang, please, hear me out.

So, I still got wingfeathers in the brain (I'm starting to think I may never get rid of it...) and one of my favorite fairytales has always been Beauty And The Beast.

Since exams week has been draining me, why not come up with another thing to daydream about?

I present you... The-Wingfeather-Saga-Beauty-And- The-Beast AU!

The Jewels And The Beast for short.

Or Jewels and The Cloven.

Or Jewels and The Birdman.

You'll see.... Just bear with me.

I'm debating in whetever Esben or Artham should be the "beast". In one hand, it would make sense for it to be Esben since he's all bear-like but I would also like it to be Artham since we have more information about him and what he's like. But either way, the "Beauty" is none other than our favorite jewels, Janner, Kalmar and Leeli.

Here's the idea: so, the kids still live with Podo and Nia in Glipwood. However, in the Glipwood forest, there's an abandoned castle. (Bonus points if Artham is the "beast" cause then it could be Peet's castle only bigger and creepier) Podo goes on a trip for whatever reason, and ends up being taken by the oh-so-horrible beast of Glipwood. Danny, the horse, comes back to the Igiby cottage where Nia and the kids get nerve struck when they find the horse without its rider. Nia leaves to get help to find Podo leaving the kids alone, and one thing leads to another, they decided to go to the forest by themselves to rescue their grandpa because main characters moment. There, they meet the "beast", and bargain to stay as prisioners in Podo's place. Podo obviously tries to fight, but ends up having to flee, leaving the kids as captives in the castle.

The "talking objects" are the Glipwooders, plus a few other characters from other regions. We got Oskar, who's a book, (are you surprised) and basically takes the role of Cogsworth. We also got Addie and Joe, Maraly, Sara, Thron, Rudric and others. (No, I haven't thought of what objects they would all be, sorry. You can suggest in the comments tho!) As the story goes by, it focuses mainly on the kids bonding with either beast! Esben or beast! Artham, and teaching about kindness and stuff. The "rose" would be a set of three actual jewels, that may or may not represent the kids themselves. Meanwhile Gnag, will be the one to take the role as Gaston. Unlike in TWS, Gnag will pretend to be the good guy and the whole town loves him, (like Gaston and the villagers) so when Nia and Podo announce that the kids have been captured by a beast, he will try to play the hero and claiming he will "rescue them". However, what Nia Podo and the Glipwooders don't know, is that Gnag is the one who helped to turn Esben or Artham into a beast in the first place, along with the Stone Keepers (who take the role of the Enchantress). Gnag knows that Janner, Tink and Leeli are the Jewels Of Anniera, and has only been waiting for the right moment to strike, to capture them and begin his plan on taking over Skree, the Hollows, and the lost Shining Isle, which everyone believes to only be a legend.

Anyways that's all I got for now.

Maybe I'll write a small fic or something on that in the future...

Hi, Ray! The author of Foxes, Pillars, and Sea-salt Rust here!!! Someone recommended my fic here????? I'm so honored!!! 🥹

So I would like to put forth my own recommendations too. I put it in my fic's AN's also, but I highly recommend Far Beyond the Woods of Dawn by wolfghost (and the entire Drag My Dark Into The Dawn AU series the fic is part of, and I suggest you access the series while logged in, because a couple of the fics are registered users only, I promise it's worth it) and The Weaver by Concerned_Brown_Bread! Both feature OCs as protagonists, a Senju for the former (Tobirama's granddaughter) and an Uchiha for the latter (Itachi's elder twin sister).

Drag My Dark has to be one of the most immersive fiction experiences I've had, up there with the manga Otoyomegatari (if you know, you know), the character psychology is top-notch, the author expertly weaves worldbuilding into the narration in a way that it's so seamless and not at all like an infodump, I like to describe it as “a slice-of-life except that the characters live in a horrible war-torn war and that affects how they navigate their lives”. The world just feels lived-in. There's information about how wars cause sanctions and prices to rise and a good highlight on what it's like to be a civilian in this kind of world. The protagonist is still a child, but the author captures children in their writing so well. She's a traumatized young child and she acts like that!! Her trauma informs how she views everything, and her being raised by civilians (long story, read the prequel to find out lol) affects how she views shinobi and the world at large! I can't wait for what the story has in store for her. We're entering the Kirigakure arc 👀 (also heavily featuring so far are Tsunade and Kushina!! Kushina's chapter has got to be one of my favorites)

The Weaver takes on a different vibe and path regarding the politics and worldbuilding, but also really plausible and I love how the author incorporates academic excerpts from the future like snippets from a history book into the chapters itself like it just gives this work such a grand feel of “oh things are gonna have consequences, we're along the ride of a big, world-changing tale”. The characterization is top-notch in this fic. You really do feel the complicated dynamics between the family members, how for all that Itachi is a prodigy he is also just a child and thus lacks the perspective to see propaganda for what it is, and the author does so brilliantly by contrasting him against his twin sister, the protagonist, who's a reborn adult (a politician in her past life who died of heat stroke before election day, which is objectively the funniest premise for a reincarnation EVER). The protagonist is witty, smart, funny, relatable, and just all-around very good. She lives rent-free in my head, can you tell? I know the fic is on hiatus but I had the privilege to read the unpublished chapters because ✨beta✨ and I promise you, it's very well worth it.

Both fics give weight to civilians instead of immediately dismissing them as “weak and stupid”, I love love love both fics and please please please read them I promise they're amazing! They have very different vibes but they're both amazing.

As for my fic, yeah I did base my protagonist off of Sansa Stark, LOL. I even tried to incorporate Sansa's lines from the first book into my own writing to really sell the vibe!

I love Whirlpool Queen, Maelstrom King but the politics in Foxes, Pillars, and Sea-salt Rust take on a very different shape from WQMK's— a bit more like wolfghost's Drag My Dark. I too will feature civilians in this fic! Daimyo's and nobility and merchants and commoners alike! Please look forward to it! I have Plans™ for Uzushio's politics and its role in the world as a whole.

Warnings: Fluff, sexual tension, future smut in this AU!

Eddie had a successful career as a touring and session musician, playing guitar for amazing artists and for his own band. But somewhere along the way he lost the words. Lyrics don’t come easy to him anymore. He used to fill pages and pages with his thoughts and ideas and feelings. Cheeky little ditties and heartfelt anecdotes. But these days it’s just melody and nothing else. He’s a wizard on guitar but only under someone else’s words.

His prolific career led to a steady fall gig teaching as a lecturer at a prestigious college known for its music program (they didn’t care about the fact that he’d barely finished high school since he’d preformed on Grammy winning tracks). And it turns out that his office is housed right next to the brick building containing the English department.

Which is how he met you.

Sweet. Studious. Buttoned up you. Plaid and tweed and stockinged and woolen and soft and warm you. You became unlikely friends when you’d both reached for the last muffin in the little coffee shop nestled between your buildings. Conversation flowed easily, in spite of your differing aesthetics, and as the weeks flew by that first fall, you and Eddie became fast friends with a regular set time to catch up over coffee and one of those coveted muffins.

Eddie spends his springs in studios doing session recordings, but eventually you cajole him into teaching summer courses. Selfish as you are to have him with you for two seasons of the year. Little do you know that he’s selfish in his desire to see you in less layers in the warm months, sweaters traded for tasteful but lower cut blouses, structured skirts and tights traded for shorter, flowy material and skin.

It’s on your third fall semester together that Eddie happens upon your notebook, however. You’d both spent a lunch break together in companionable silence, chewing and working on your own paperwork. You come back from washing up to find Eddie flipping through the notebook you’d left open on the table. He looks up at you with wide eyes.

“You’re so fucking talented, you know that?”

You scramble forward and grab the notebook from him, slamming it shut and holding it against your chest protectively.

“Eddie! You can’t read other people’s writing without asking!” you huff. Ruffled.

“Well then can I read it, please?” Eddie asks. He holds his hand out to get you to hand it back. You shake your head.

“No!”

Eddie pouts at you as you regain your seat across from him.

“That’s some deep shit you have in there,” he says gravely. You roll your eyes.

“Eloquent, Munson.”

“Hey, look. Never said I was,” Eddie says with a roguish wink that’s got you hotter under the collar than you’d like to admit. “Haven’t been able to write in years. A decade even.”

“I don’t believe that,” you snort.

“Why not?”

“Because you’re a storyteller. A tale weaver. A blowhard,” you tease, sliding the tip of your finger around the rim of your mug. Eddie watches your finger's trajectory for a minute before speaking up again.

"We should team up."

"I'm sorry?" you ask, certain you've heard him wrong.

"Your words. My music."

"What are you talking about?" you ask, completely flustered at the very proposition even though he hasn't explained himself at all yet.

"You do lyrics, I do melody. We could kill it, babe!" His grin is massive and your heart constricts. He often calls you by pet names, but this time it makes you feel light headed. You throw your notebook and things into your bag.

"You've finally lost it, Munson," you say, light and dismissive, getting up from the table. "You're out of your mind."

Eddie is quick to follow you out of the cafe.

"This is the clearest I've been thinking in years!" he insists, grabbing your elbow before you can dash off to your own building. He whirls you back to him and you catch your balance by gripping his bicep. His rather large bicep...

"This is what I've been waiting for. Inspiration. Guidance. A muse!"

Eddie's eyes are so wide and his smile is so hopeful that you feel your stomach flip.

"Eddie, I have no background in music. I don't write songs!"

"But you write poetry - it's the same thing!"

You huff and look around wildly as if some kind of excuse or escape will materialize out of thin air and get you out of this uncomfortable situation. Instead, all you see is the lanky, expectant frame of Eddie Munson.

"You know for a fact that lyricism is poetic, so I'm not even going to dignify that excuse with any further arguments," Eddie says. His smile is wide enough to indicate that he knows he's won. He knows he's got you.

Suddenly his big hands are gripping your wrists and pulling your hands to rest on his chest.

"Help me. Do you need me to beg? I'll beg, sweetheart, I have no dignity," he moans playfully. All of your nerve endings alight at the sound and your imagination immediately runs wild at the thought of what else he could moan with those pretty lips. You squash those thoughts as quickly as you can and nod in the process of dislodging the inappropriate thoughts in your head, which Eddie takes as an affirmative to his begging. "You'll do it?! You're fucking perfect, you know that?"

Before you can correct his misunderstanding, Eddie kisses you hard on the cheek. The motion is wet and smacking and it shakes you to your very core. His hand cradles you at your waist and for a second your bodies are pressed flush together. Your entire being vibrates at the feeling of Eddie Munson against you and it seems like time stands still.

But then he's pulling away, taking his warmth and his steadiness with him.

"You won't regret this, sweetheart. We're going to make the best team ever, just you wait!"

And with that, Eddie bounds off in the direction of the music building, leaving you with only a foggy comprehension of what you've supposedly just agreed to and with the memory of the feeling of his body against yours.

Trying to figure out a Celestial family tree from the Jade Emperor, even in it's most basic form is kinda hard.

In Journey to the West he def got a sister (Yaoji) and she had 3 kids including Erlang Shen (his nephew). Yang Chan/Sanniang (Erlang's sister) had Liu Chen Xiang according to one version of the Lotus Lantern fairytale.

Him and Queen Mother of the West have at least has 7 daughters according to "Weaver Girl and the Cowherd" which includes; Zhinu (the star Vega), Yanguang Niangniang (Goddess of Eyesight), Songzi/Zhusheng Niangniang (Goddess of Fertility/Childbirth). But the last one occasionally is three separate goddesses rolled into one, or is depicted as a version of Guanyin. Guanyin herself is either a former mortal than became a Bodhisattva, or a daughter of the Jade Emperor who became buddist.

But the tale of "Hou Yi and the 10 Suns" seems to change who's kids the Suns/Sons (puns) are depending on the variant - Jade Emperor is either their dad, granddad, or more often unrelated entirely.

Mythology is confusing.

In the LMK au Im crafting; I have it down that the Jade Emperor and QMotW only got the 7 daughters who are either alive but estranged/disowned (Zhinu and Princess Iron Fan), or reincarnated/died as mortals without their parents permission (Lady Yin). Erlang Shen is so high ranked cus he's technicallly the only male heir in line for the throne. Nezha barely scrapping the royal bloodline since his mom is a reincarnation of the Second Daughter.

It’s hard to believe this November will be one year since I’ve created this fic! And by these dates we will have finished the first arc/season of Neither Gods Nor Men and starting up the second arc/season!

The Greens fight for honor. They fight for the right of Aemond Targaryen to succeed his father upon the Iron Throne. They fight for their lives as they face off against factions that have already wronged them. Welp-

I was hoping to have these fellas digitized first before I introduced them, but I feel like I have been prolonging them long enough.

So allow me to introduce y'all to the OCs I made based off Twisted Wonderland [if you don't know what that is, imagine Harry Potter mixed with hot anime boys based off the Disney villains packed in a mobile game].

These characters go towards a fanfiction idea I have for a Future AU, "Twisted Wonderland: A Tale Rewoven". There are a total of seven houses. The college is Co-ed though, so not all of them are male. You will recognize a couple of these characters from my Pride month drawing:

I won't cram you with character backstories yet, but the run down is basically:

Farcifabula, a house built on the fundamentals of fun, creative outlets. These students each bring their own contributions to developing research in child psychology and playtime technology. Though, some of the students may struggle a bit with the concept...

I dug through my WIPs to find a coherent one that didn't have spoilers for the fic itself. But considering how I always write the more exciting parts first, I have failed. Lmao.

Anyway. Here's an excerpt of the Webgott Magical Realism AU.

David Webster is odd. Joe knows this by virtue of having known him for more than a decade, fought with him for the first three years of that, and loved him for the rest.

But he knows it too by the moments where the veneer slips, and something dark, deep, and old peeks beneath. Web doesn’t seem to be aware of it himself, the churning abyss having been a part of him since the very beginning and therefore not uncommon. But to Joe, whose life has never once strayed from the straight and narrow path until that fateful day he chose to jump out of an airplane for 50 extra dollars, the shadow that clings to Web is clear as day.

The first time he saw it, it sat in his periphery. Eight legged and still. Listening, as Web, one warm Austrian night said; “Webster is my mother’s family name.”

People like to assume otherwise, and Web does himself no favors when he rarely corrects them, but that night it pours out of him like water from a broken flask, gushing from the red of his mouth, gaping like a wound with every word he speaks.

Webster, to modern ears, takes a new form. A book of words and meanings, created from a language taken apart and put back together like jigsaw puzzle pieces poured back into its box. No sense as a whole but its pieces complete in their individuality. Always, at the price of their potential for poetry. “That is what boy Websters are like,” David had said. Though some have the potential to become something, carrying within them a small spark that, if properly cultivated amongst the like-minded, could help bring about a decent flame. But those kinds of boy Websters are few and far between, the last having been born centuries ago, and whose gifts had gotten him killed. Most Webster boys are simply broken shards of a whole– special enough to understand how different they are, but too weak to be anything but useless.

It’s the Webster women that are truly different. They’re all that are left of the old name. Ever-changing, like all things are in the face of time, but strong enough to retain their original shape, still. Adaptable. Malleable. Powerful in ways boy Websters could never be. In times of old, Webster had meant spinner. Crafter. A creature with silk in two of her eight hands, a tapestry of deadly traps adorned with beautiful opportunities falling from their lips. Words, endless. Possibilities, even more so.

Anything Webster women say, the earth bends to listen. The trees repeat. The brooks whisper. The sun rejoices. And once finished, the sky opens to weep.

Web didn’t have to continue for Joe to understand, then; the rest of the story unraveled before him as the gravity of Web’s words finally sunk in.

Every child in the world has heard of the existence of these women. Few have been lucky enough to encounter one, but even more so have been unfortunate enough to get caught in the lies they spin, the endless, glistening realities that pour from their mouths. “Beware,” Joe’s mother had once whispered to them in warning. “They are not your enemies, but to be amongst them is dangerous. Their web stretches far beyond their reach and closes around you, invisible, until you are trapped with no means of escape, even after your death.”

Teller of tales, she had called them. Soothsayers, Priestesses of the Mother of Lies—

“Weavers,” David had confirmed, and the tired finality in which he says it cracked something in Joe’s chest he didn’t know was still whole enough to break. “My mother is a weaver.”

Imagine Shadow Weaver in this AU where she raises Adora to be a Mean Girl reading her all the Fairy Tales and saying why the Princesses in the story sucked and the Evil Queens, Wicked Step Sisters were right to be mean to them.

“C’mon hurry!!”

Lilian yelled as they both ran to the area as quickly as possible, with Lilian running ahead while he’s falling behind because his limping keeps holding him back.

There are many times where he kind of wished he died differently, this was one of them.

Once they got to the bus, Lilian is already waiting for him with a guilty look on her face. “Sorry.” She apologised, her head hung low in shame. “It’s alright.” He told her, slowing down to his normal pace into a complete stop.

“Did you see anything... remotely suspicious at all?” Tom asked her, Lilian shook her head, a worried look stayed on her face.

Staring back at the damaged vehicle, he asked her to wait outside. Carefully going up the steps of the bus, he looked around the area, not seeing anything wrong or out of place, weirding Tom out a bit.

Thinking it was just some food the human choked on and hoping Lilian just saw something at the wrong time, he was about to walk off the bus.

Just then a small breeze hit, moving something out from under the closest bus seat towards his foot. ‘What the..?’ He thought, slowly kneeling down to take a closer look, upon further inspection he gasped.

Hoping it’s what he thinks it is, he picked up the petal, crushed it in his hand and took in the scent. ‘Delicate, sweet floral smell, herbal, evergreen woodsy... lavender!’ He thought, smiling under his mask.

But that smile faded as soon as he realised it wouldn’t be enough to tell the tale. Just when he was gonna get up to tell her he didn’t find anything, he saw a small pile of petal brushes of lavender underneath the bus seat next to him.

‘Ok, how did I miss that?’ He thought, face palming himself for not noticing. Tom reached under the bus seat to swipe away a few brush petals to find what he’s looking for, after the fifth or sixth time, he found what he’s looking for.

Picking it up, he sighed contently, got up from the bus floor and carefully went down the steps, making sure not to damage the flower in his hand. “Anything?” She asked, hoping it isn’t bad news. “Not much, just this.”

Tom said softly, showing Lilian the flower in his left hand. “Is that... lavender?!” She shouted, slamming a hand on her mouth. “Yes it is.” He answered, gently placing the plant in his pocket. “What’s it doing here in mount Todd?”

“I don’t know, I kind of just found it under.. the bus seat with mine and Tim���s name on it... where my rattle was placed.” Tom whispered, turning back to the bus for five seconds, then turned back to Lilian. “Did you... see anything?” Tom asked.

“No, I couldn’t see anything, he was kind of... out of sight and I don’t want to press further.” She explained, understanding his younger sisters situation he told her not to worry too much and head back to their waiting area...

Then something in his mind clicked...

he took out the lavender from his pocket, just as gently as he placed it in and stared at the flower.

Unexpectedly, it doesn’t have a stem... just like what happened to him around 2:00am after he snapped that redhead’s neck.

‘Could he..? No, that’s impossible.’ He thought, gently putting the flower back in his pocket before returning to the waiting area, he made a mental note to remind Tim he’s back in the game, just so he could prove himself wrong.

But it wouldn’t hurt to be right this time, but that’s just wishful thinking, the human might’ve just carried some with him, he’s not gonna be right this time...

Right..?

Almost over, just... 4 more to go and I’m done with this au trilogy... and maybe a bonus but enough of that, besides.. I’m pretty sure time for the weavers is completely different to players when the weavers are in their waiting area.
