Bubble Tea

Catching up with loved ones and listening to our favorite music while we chewed on our tapioca pearls. Much has changed since I was first introduced to bubble tea, but my love for bubble tea has not. The traditional milk tea is my favorite. The sweet, creamy beverage of strong tea, milk and those addictive tapioca pearls is something I crave so frequently. Bon Appetea is one of the many concepts found Allied Food-To-Go, the cloud kitchen. I’ve been to two of their physical locations but the one at Allied is the closest to me. Order online for pickup or delivery. You can also place your order in person. Your food is placed in a locker. The door opens when you look up or present your order info (close it when you’ve picked up your order). It’s totally contactless.

There are three parking spaces on the side of the building. You can place your order there or order ahead. I thought there was no seating but I spotted two tables in the parking lot.

* Popcorn chicken rice plate ($13.65): It’s still good. The popcorn chicken comes in big, tender pieces with a light batter, a few fried basil leaves and plenty of five spice. You can specify how spicy you’d like it and if you like it spicy, they’ll coat it with chili powder. It wasn’t as crunchy as I remembered probably because it steamed a bit in the takeout container. They give you a ton of steamed white rice, plus corn, and broccoli that still has some crunch. The creamy dipping sauce is yummy.

They no longer include the tea egg or minced pork on top of the rice - at least at this locatiom.
