Can we talk about Sonic X TailAmy for a moment?

Disclaimer: if you disagree with me, that's fine. If you prefer Sonamy over Tailamy, go right ahead. But remember this is my opinion based on observations and research. I would appreciate it if Sonamy shippers don't try to convince me why Sonamy is such a beautiful well-written canon ship and why I'm bad for not shipping it. You wouldn't like it if I did that to you would you? Then don't do that to me ok?

So I was rewatching Sonic X for refreshment of what's happening and the context behind it and noticed something interesting in the Chaos arc I never really thought about.

Amy gets captured and becomes prisoner to Eggman just right after Tails received a massive head and arm injury from a plane crash that could easily worsen if he keeps pushing himself. Think about it, Tails could've chosen to stay at home and heal and let Sonic do all the work saving Amy by himself, especially considering Sonic is a more well-known hero than he is, his X Tornado is damaged and the Station Square City is in chaos at this time. But instead, he got into the X Tornado again, got into a dangerous battle with Eggman and LITERALLY PUSHED THROUGH ANOTHER CRASH to help Sonic save Amy all while Amy was emoing over Sonic as usual! Tails was willing to pretty much risk his life for Amy's sake! He risked his life for her so much that Sonic had to assign him to simply fly Amy back home to safety while he finishes dealing with Eggman!

How is this different from those "SonAmy moments" where Sonic saves Amy from danger himself? Because Sonic is a well-known hero with a habit of risking his life to save his friends, so saving Amy makes it not really that special since he helps his other friends in a similar manner. So if Amy is in trouble and Sonic has to help her, we know this is predictable for him for his role. Tails on the other hand is not a regular hero like Sonic and is usually shyer and more unsure of himself while Sonic likes to show himself off. And note that piloting machines is dangerous for someone his age even for a skilled pilot like him. Yet despite all this, Tails was still willing to push through a life-and-death situation to make sure his friend is safe while injured that even Sonic and Chuck worried about him forcing himself.

Another thing it is different from those "SonAmy moments" is that actions spoke louder than visual effects and feels. They weren't trying to make it romantic and they didn't feel the need to give Amy emotional issues to show she cares for Tails, yet that moment showed that Tails does love Amy enough to put her life above his own even though he is not Amy's romantic pursuit. With Sonamy, Amy was somehow felt the need to be either given obnoxious weepy melodrama or turned into a violent psycho and makes Sonic look like a jerk for not fitting into her ideal mold of how she views him and then they think they can make up for it by putting them in a pretty setting with cheesy romantic 80s anime style music in the background and Sonamy fanatics somehow eat it up, which I find unhealthy and unromantic at the end of the day.

But no, Tails can have Cosmo instead even though she's gonna have to die soon to save the universe. Whether or not their personalities and goals are compatible or the fact that they're in the middle of a space war with Cosmo's dad who's literally trying to destroy the universe doesn't matter. Let's make an episode where Vector takes advantage of Tails' feelings and tries to force them into a relationship they're not ready for simply because he was bored. Then make Tails and Cosmo accidentally fall into Amy's trap for Sonic and fall madly in love and then shortly afterwards, make Tails have to kill her for the sake of the universe and leave him emotionally unstable by the end of the show. Yeah, totally #Truelove and #RelationshipGoals! Why do Anime creators particularly seem to think that being emotionally unstable over crushes is healthy for relationships? Because a country's culture made by imperfect humans says so? When Cosmo's death tragically impacted Tails, who decided to spend time with him and cheer him up? Was it his number 1 BFF Sonic? Nope, it was Cream AND Amy. It's sad when you realize that Tails and Amy make each other more calmer and happier than their own respective crushes do...

One thing I just noticed about Tails' and Amy's level up items I thought was interesting was the fact that they are badges/disks with a gem in the middle with multiple two-tone feathers attached to symbolize their desire for independence and freedom even without Sonic around to make life fun for them, almost like a visual symbolization of growing wings to fly higher like a bird, except the difference is they are placed on each other's strength sources. Tails' Rhythm Badge is placed on his chest where the heart is at, which also happens to be Amy's source of strength, while Amy's Warrior Feather is placed on her head where the brain is at, which also happens to be Tails' source of strength, and both items respectively strengthens them to perform certain abilities better.

It's almost like the Rhythm Badge symbolizes Amy and the Warrior Feather symbolizes Tails and considering the underrated dynamic between Tails and Amy, it's almost like the items further visually emphasizes how these two need each other, perhaps more so than they need Sonic — who predictably has to bond with them because what is the main hero without a sidekick and the token chick crushing on him by his side amiright? XD

Tailamy shippers, I think I won a Tailamy victory

So remember a post I made about Tailamy observations in a Sonic X episode and someone by the name of "dragondelsus" saw it and felt the need to reblog it and say this: Amy is 12 and Tails is 8 you sicko

Yeah, didn't even bother to think of a logical argument to refute mine or even just ignore it, nope, just had to dive straight to insulting me, so I thought through logical arguments to refute that response of course, and you wanna know what happened not long afterwards? When I tried to go to their blog/posts, I got a ghost blog error page. When I tried to follow them on their mini preview when you hover over a username, nothing happened. When I tried to search up their username on the search box, nowhere to be found (And either was the message icon that is usually there). Hm, kinda weird... 🤔 I remember being able to access their blog just fine and being able to read their Amy posts a couple days ago, so I'm guessing either one of these things happened. A: They (Idk what pronouns they go by so Imma refer them by gender neutral pronouns just to be safe) got scared cuz they got exposed so they just resorted to "taking a break from Tumblr for a while" A.K.A noped out of the conversation and either set the blog to private or outright deleted it. Or B: They might've blocked me. An Amy fanbrat might've actually blocked me for not sharing the exact same opinion on a cartoon pink hedgehog as them! 🤣

Just when my day on Tumblr couldn't get any more interesting. And I even warned them at the end of my response: I’ve already speculated that most of the Sonamy fans tends to be more of Amy fans than Sonic himself, but if you respond by either ignoring me, blocking me, and/or respond by writing a 10 page long essay about how hard Amy had it and how badly she’s being treated and how wrong I am about her character and how hard it is to be an Amy fan and yada yada yada, you’re just gonna prove me right and I’m just gonna sit here and giggle at you. 😂 And guess what? They kinda did. And you know what? I kinda prefer it that way so we don't have to worry about wasting time arguing over a fictional pink hedgehog and move on with our lives. But yeah, it sure was entertaining.

- ‘God today has been overwhelming’ Shadow thought to himself, his face clearly showing annoyance. Honestly he wasn't sure how long he could deal with another presence. The only thing that was currently on his mind and the only reason he even bothered to put up with the others was seeing you. A while ago he found himself becoming fond of you in his own brooding way. Normally he wouldn’t consider himself getting close with anyone especially since he’s known for being a loner but as he manages to spot you more often due to you often hanging out with that stupid hedgehog sonic and his friends he couldn’t help but get drawn towards you. It’s like you had some sort of aura about you that made him drawn to you. So he decided to hang out with you much to your surprise at him wanting to be around you but you weren’t going to complain.

- You’re the only person he actually tolerates out of everyone he knows. To him Sonic is too annoying, Tails is alright in a way but still isn’t too fond of him, Knuckles isn’t that smart, Amy is also alright he just doesn’t hang out with her too much so he doesn’t have that much of a bond with her and he just finds Sticks batshit crazy. So with you it’s like he’s getting some fresh air after being stuck in a room for hours. He actually enjoys being around you, you won’t get him to outright admit it but in a way you can tell he does because he treats you way differently compared to the others which doesn’t go unnoticed by them.

- Some of them actually find it cute (Mostly Amy) and some of them like to tease Shadow about (Most probably either Sonic or Knuckles) but you don’t mind it. You actually find it cute in a way as well. Managing to break his standoffish persona. Undeniably he kind of has a soft spot for. Often he finds himself getting defensive when someone like Sonic teases him for his said soft spot. Like Sonic could be saying stuff like “You really like her don’t you Shadow” which causes Shadow to tell him to shut up.

- Everytime he has a shit day or just wants to decompress he finds himself thinking of you. He could just be in a grumpy mood then he just sighs to himself and thinks to himself ‘I’m going to see [Name]’. It’s like his brain just automatically thinks of going to you as soon as he experiences a single bad emotion. He knows that you won’t judge which admittedly makes him happy inside. Honestly after having others getting on his nerves he rather have someone who knows how to calm him down. Honestly, this dude has so much built in anger it’s unbelievable.

- Eventually, after enough walking he managed to arrive at your place and immediately felt some sort of weight being lifted off of his shoulders. He knocked on the door crossing his arms waiting for you to open the door. He then saw the door crack open and saw the familiar hedgehog he actually likes. “Oh hey Shadow!” You said, happy to see your buddy again “what are you doing here?” You asked before he answered “apologies for interrupting you but is it alright if I stay here for a bit?” He asked to which you happily let him in.

- As soon as you sat down you found him following you before plopping himself head down into your lap “had another one of those days huh?” You asked slightly chuckling before placing a hand on his head “you have no idea. I swear that damn hedgehog is out to purposely ruin my day.” He grumbled as he felt himself softening while having your hands running through his quills “oh come on he’s not that bad you know?” You could hear Shadow slightly snorting to himself before replying “you hang out with him, your used to his idiocy” you chuckled at his answer before continuing to play with his quills, occasionally seeing him nuzzle his head in your lap even letting out some noises indicating that he was enjoying the attention he was getting from you “your weird you know that Shadow?” You joked with him “no I’m not” he retorted back even starting to hug you loosely around your waist “yeah whatever you say” you smiled to yourself hearing Shadow scoffing to himself as the two of you enjoy each other's company. “thanks for being there for me [Name]” he quietly said but you could hear him very well “no problem Shadow”.

Description: Going from Simpsons to Sonic… HELP ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME

But anyway, this is an idea that sparked in my head when I was fandreaming about the Sonic franchise. What if Amy Rose's Piko Piko Hammer had a rocket function? Wouldn't that be something?

She could deal even more damage, with quicker versatility and agility, and as a bonus, she could even flip it upside down and ride it like a jet-powered scooter! It sounded so cool to me, that I had to get it down on paper. Even though Sega's probably not gonna do something like this, I just thought it was at least worth jotting down.

The idea came to me after I thought about how Amy could be playable in Sonic's boost-style gameplay, as well as when I was thinking about King Dedede's Jet Hammer from Super Smash Bros.

I call it the "Piko Rowsh Hammer" because apparently "piko" is the sound the hammer makes when struck (I personally don't hear it.) So I thought about adding a rocket sound effect to that name; something like "RRRRROWWWSSSSSSH!!", and that's why I call it the "Piko Rowsh Hammer". It can also be called the "Love Rocket Hammer".

Also, Amy's design in this is not my idea. I took the liberty of using the design made by the endlessly talented Shira-hedgie, because I think it is the best design for Amy that I've seen in a while. Also, she's a wildly talented artist who is a master of expression and movement. And she can draw Sonic characters amazingly well. I highly recommend you watch her; her stuff is great!

Also, if you didn't notice, I went for a different art style this time from what I'm accustomed to, just to see if it really works. So far I like it, but it might need some tweaking. What do you guys think of it?

Oh but that doesn't end there, I commented to express my even cooler idea… C:<

Imagine that along with a switch to open up an opening on each side of the hammer where she can blast pink energy balls and lasers or pull out spikes and break through solid rock, landmass and flesh easier, or maybe even a switch that activates all of the above! Imagine all of that among with the fact that she can multiply more hammers out of thin air as shown in Sonic X and the theory you wanna go with the idea that her golden rings on her wrists could be limiters that Shadow wears, what if she takes them off and fights off with her new upgraded hammers in all of her GLORY! :D One thing she have to be careful with is for the love of Chaos, DON'T CRUSH SONIC WITH THEM! X'D

Also, the edges of the hammer can serve as wheels and the handle can pull out 2 another smaller handles to hold onto and she can ride her hammer like a Segway. She can do this or fly on it with rocket fuel to save up as much stamina as possible. With these powers and abilities, she can beat multiple enemies 10x her size and natural strength! :O

But she doesn't have to be the only one to be this deadly, besides his X-Tornado, remember when Tails can summon an arm cannon to shoot out energy balls, flicking hands, and tail swipe?

(I like to think on the other side from this fanart by artsonx is another arm cannon he can use on his other hand so he can shoot from both directions) Well perhaps he can get bigger impact from using these attacks by using a gadget that is like his rocket propelled ice skates, except with more rocket hoverers on the bottom instead of ice skates to boost his speed and so then he won't always tire his tails out.

So then you'll get a young yet determined power couple full of passion who can be able to stand on their feet in battle without needing to stand by the sidelines cheering on Sonic to do all the hero work for them when he just wants to explore the world around him and chill. Tails needs to believe in himself and Amy believes in him. I loved it when they seemed to spent more time with each other than with their own supposed idol combined in Sonic X and I miss that aspect. 💛🦊🌹💗

I think that the reason why Sega, IDW and Archie never really let Amy and Tails have moments together is because they knew that deep down putting the two of them together would bring nothing but mischievous chaos.

Like imagine:

Tails being as smart as he is with his inventions and determination guiding him and Amy with her impressive strength and fiery drive fueling her, they would make the most deadliest ass kicking duo. Like they would ruin lives if they were given more time to interact and yet they never really do and thus that makes Sega, IDW, and Archie absolute cowards-
